Listen To New CROSSFAITH Song 'Catastrophe'

Listen To New CROSSFAITH Song 'Catastrophe'

"Catastrophe", a brand new song from Japanese metal juggernauts CROSSFAITH, can be streamed below. The track is taken from the band's new album, "Ex_Machina", which was released on August 3. The disc features lead single "The Perfect Nightmare" as well as cameos from ENTER SHIKARI frontman Rou Reynolds and industrial hip hoppers Ho99o9.

On "Ex_Machina", singer Kenta "Ken" Koie explains: "After we released our last album 'Xeno', we were thinking about what the next theme is for us. We decided on 'awake the individuality,' because we're always trying to make new things and that's a big part of the band's attitude.

"This album is a grave warning for our future. I hope you guys listen to this and think about what the meaning of this album is for you and feel how you feel through this album and start something for your future."

"Ex_Machina" is a concept album set in an alternative near future in which the ruling class, known as Angels, maintain their world through artificial intelligence and other technology, which dehumanises people and effectively turns them into drones — as explained in the opening title track, "Deus Ex Machina".

The other 12 songs featured on the album represent the voice of the resistance — in the form of underdogs known as Demons. Kenta was inspired to include these figures by Devilman Crybaby, particularly on the SLIPKNOT-esque "Catastrophe", the frantic, bloodcurdling "The Perfect Nightmare", and the epic assault of "Daybreak", rather than because they wanted to provide a comment on religion.

"There's no particular religious message," clarifies Ken. "In order to explore the dualism of humans, we decided to include angels and demons, which are opposing elements just like fire and water."

"Angels aren't necessarily good and demons aren't necessarily bad," he explains. "The most important theme is that we should never stop questioning the world around us."

"Ex_Machina" is a relentless album that strives for the listener's attention, and is unquestionably the heaviest that CROSSFAITH have put their name to since forming in their native Osaka in 2006.

Since their inception, CROSSFAITH have been on the edge of a fusion of rock, metal, electronica and big ideas on their albums; and the edge of euphoria with their live shows. "Ex_Machina" is the album on which they walk that fine, fiery line more skillfully and seismically than ever.

02. Catastrophe

03. The Perfect Nightmare

04. Destroy (ft. Ho99o9)

P.O.D. Is Putting Finishing Touches On 'Fun' And 'Catchy' New Album

P.O.D. Is Putting Finishing Touches On 'Fun' And 'Catchy' New Album

Vocalist Sonny Sandoval of San Diego, California-based rockers P.O.D. (PAYABLE ON DEATH) has confirmed to Anne Erickson of Audio Ink Radio that the band is putting the finishing touches on its new album for a tentative late 2018 release via the Mascot Label Group.

"I just finished a couple of days of vocals," he said (hear audio below). "I think right now it's kind of just being all cleaned up and put together, and then once the label and everybody hears it, then it will go to mixing. And hopefully an album by the end of the year."

Regarding the musical direction of the new P.O.D. material, Sonny said: "We did something different this time. If you listen to [P.O.D.'s] early stuff from even early '90s, we had a DJ; we were mixing in certain sounds — mixed reggae music and punk and hardcore and rock and even poppy stuff — so it's not like a surprise. But on this record, we worked with the Heavy [the Los Angeles-based production/songwriting team consisting of Jason Bell and Jordan Miller]. And this is the first time that we really kind went in the studio vulnerable and open for more of a writing session, whereas we've always written our own music before. We still wrote our music, but it was more open to change, or at least them adding kind of their feel to it. These guys worked with a bunch of pop bands — they just did the DIRTY HEADS — and they just have more of a… I was gonna say 'younger,' but just more of a cleaner, poppier tone to it. So we went in really open-minded, and then, here we are at the end of the record, and we're, like, 'Man, we don't even have that many heavy songs.' [Laughs] Everything is fun — it's fun, it's experimental when it comes to programming and some drum loops and stuff like that. We've done that before, but it was always kind of hidden, whereas now it's, like, a whole verse could be just an electronic bass or a drum kit. So it's fun, it's catchy, and I definitely think it's just P.O.D. 2018."

Over the span of two decades, P.O.D. has released 10 studio albums, including the triple-platinum "Satellite". They have had several hit songs, including "Southtown", "Alive", "Youth Of The Nation" and "Boom", and most recently with their Active Rock singles "Higher", "Beautiful" and "Lost In Forever", which reached No. 1. The band has been nominated for three Grammy Awards, racked up four No. 1 music videos, and contributed songs to numerous major motion picture soundtracks.

P.O.D.'s 10th studio album, "The Awakening", was released in 2015.

KHÔRADA Featuring Former AGALLOCH, GIANT SQUID Members – “Seasons Of Salt” Track Streaming

KHÔRADA Featuring Former AGALLOCH, GIANT SQUID Members – “Seasons Of Salt” Track Streaming

West Coast metal band Khôrada, featuring ex-members of Agalloch and Giant Squid, has revealed a new song called “Seasons Of Salt” today. The track is featured on the band’s highly-anticipated debut, full-length album, SALT, which will be released on July 20th from Prophecy Productions.

“This is a personal favorite song of mine as it's one of the earliest representations of Don and I writing together; one of the first examples of what Khôrada could and would sound like. Everyone in the band has their undeniable stamp on this song, from moments of calm, exotic sections, and blasting rage. For me, it's the perfect representation of Khôrada's combined capabilities and our hunger to create something vastly different from our prior work." - Aaron Gregory

As a completely fresh concept, Khôrada is an opportunity for the musicians to explore new soundscapes while creatively challenging themselves. With SALT, Khôrada forges breathtaking swathes of sound that swell, stretch, submerge and recede with panoramic power.

At once atmospheric, aggressive and apocalyptic, the album's emotion is driven by the band members' view of today's world; these are precarious times. SALT was written under the pressure and uncertainty of the beginning of the Trump-era, standing as a musical exploration of the landscape in which, we now live. Paired with the surreally visceral artwork of internationally renowned painter & sculptor Cedric Wentworth, the visual explorations prove to be as haunting as the ethereal vocals of Aaron himself.

“SALT is what a collection of musicians, each with over 20 years of experience, sound like when they start over from zero. All the music on this album was composed immediately following the conclusion of both Agalloch and Giant Squid. For all of us, this is what rebuilding, reorganizing, and reimagining sounds like.” - Don Anderson

SALT will be released as Digisleeve CD, Gatefold 2LP, 2CD book edition (hardcover, 18x18cm, 36 pages with enhanced artwork, liner notes and Rudimentary Peni cover song) and ltd. complete box set; including Gatefold 2LP, 2CD book edition, 7" single featuring a B-side cover of Rudimentary Peni’s “Shard,” art prints and signed/numbered certificate. WINDHAND Release Artwork, Video Trailer For Eternal Return Album; North American Fall Tour Announced

Virginia's heavy psychedelic quartet Windhand have announced a full fall North American tour with Satan's Satyrs and give us a glimpse of what's to come on their forthcoming album, Eternal Return, coming October 5th on Relapse. Check out the trailer video below.

Eternal Return represents a new era for the group, a chrysalis moment that takes them to new and unforeseen heights. Once again the band have joined forces with producer Jack Endino (Nirvana, Soundgarden) with vivid artwork by Arik Roper (Sleep, High On Fire). Equally informed by heavy, fuzzed-out psych along with the iconic grunge / alternative groups of the 90s, Windhand have crafted a record brilliant in scope, powerful in execution, and perfect for an era of increasingly blurry yet still heavy borders.

MELIAH RAGE Premier "Idol Hands" Music Video

MELIAH RAGE Premier "Idol Hands" Music Video

US power/thrash veterans Meliah Rage have released a video for "Idol Hands", the title track of their ninth studio album, out now. Watch the video below.

Idol Hands marks the return of Paul Souza (the vocal powerhouse that replaced original singer Mike Munro and can be heard on 2004's Barely Human, 2006's The Deep And Dreamless Sleep and 2011's Dead To The World. The album is a veritable feast for power metal fans, complete with Nichols' unmatched rhythmic mastery and Souza’s versatile voice. Still killing to survive... 30 years strong!

And yes, the album title is quite significant, given the fact that Nichols broke his wrist in late 2013 and  was uncertain if he’d play guitar again after three serious surgeries. Meliah Rage is rounded off by original guitarist Jim Koury, drummer Stuart Dowie and bassist Darren Lourie.

Check out a glowing BraveWords review of Idol Hands at this location and watch for a major BraveWords feature on Meliah Rage coming soon.

Idol Hands is available to order on CD and as digital download (in lossless formats) from their Bandcamp page.

The Outer Ones sees Revocation pushing both the death metal and progressive elements of their signature sound harder than ever.

"I knew that I wanted to go in a darker direction, and this is our most death metal album to date," states vocalist/guitarist Dave Davidson. "Sometimes when death metal bands go down the prog route they lose some of that edge, but we wanted to keep the aggression at the forefront of what we do while still pushing our boundaries."

Moving away from the societal and historical themes that informed 2016's Great Is Our Sin, this time Davidson has immersed himself in the fantastic, evoking one of the great writers of the sci-fi/horror genre.

"The title is my ode to H.P. Lovecraft and the entities of pure cosmic horror that rule that universe he created. Since the new music we were writing was so evil and spacey in sections it seemed to be the right title to fit the overall vibe. But while the lyrical content is largely influenced by such writings, in every allegory there is of course some reflection of the real world, so I enjoy writing in a way that could have one overlaying meaning and then another deeper, symbolic meaning as well."

The Outer Ones tracklisting:

"Of Unworldly Origin"
"That Which Consumes All Things"
"Blood Atonement"

IMONOLITH Featuring Members Of DEVIN TOWNSEND PROJECT, STRAPPING YOUNG LAD, THREAT SIGNAL Post Guitar Demo Of New Song "Instinct" (Video)

IMONOLITH Featuring Members Of DEVIN TOWNSEND PROJECT, STRAPPING YOUNG LAD, THREAT SIGNAL Post Guitar Demo Of New Song "Instinct" (Video)

Strapping Young Lad founder Devin Townsend recently decided to "take a break" from the Devin Townsend Project. Following his announcement that he had put the Devin Townsend Project on indefinite hiatus, two members of DTP teamed up with a couple of members of Townsend's former group, Strapping Young Lad, to form a new band, Imonolith. Joining drummer Ryan Van Poederooyen and guitarist Brian "Beav" Waddell (who played bass in DTP) are bassist Byron Stroud, second guitarist Jed Simon and vocalist Jon Howard.

The band has checked in with the following update:

"Here's a teaser clip of Brian 'Beav' Waddell tracking guitars for the Imonolith song, 'Instinct'; we released a drum cam of this song the other week. Now you can get an idea of what the song sounds like instrumentally with some of Beav's demo guitar tracks. 'Instinct' is another ass-whooper with some awesome vocal melodies spread throughout... which you will hear eventually.

We're working hard on our music and the best way to get it out to you all ASAP. We obviously plan on touring once we have music out to you guys. We're just working on the big plan and then executing it the best we can. Stay posted for more music and updates to come and thanks for your support!"

The band recently issued the following:

"As voted by our supporters, here's the public debut of 'The Reign'. Thanks to all of you worldwide who are supporting us in the very early stages of this band.

'The Reign' is about how society can negatively influence the mass majority. Life is all about living it your own way and not trying to be someone you're not. Be yourself. This may be an aggressive and heavy sounding song, but it has a positive underlying message.

This is just ONE side to Imonolith's overall sound. 'The Reign' represents part of the heavier side of our music. On the flip side, you can expect a lot of melody (vocally and instrumentally), with vocal hooks, memorable guitar riffs and creative, plotting rhythms throughout our music. Imonolith was based and built off of being versatile. Stay posted for more music to come soon!

Thanks as always for your awesome support!"

Band lineup:

Jon Howard (Threat Signal) - vocals
Jed Simon (Vimic, Strapping Young Lad, Scar The Martyr) - guitar
Brian "Beav" Waddell (Devin Townsend Project) - guitar
Byron Stroud (Strapping Young Lad) - bass
Ryan Van Poederooyen (Devin Townsend Project) - drums

Watch the official music video for “Army Of Cops”, directed by David Brodsky and featuring guest vocals from Richard Johnson (Agoraphobic Nosebleed, Enemy Soil, Drugs of Faith), below.

Physical pre-order packages are available via Relapse.com here plus the album pre-save and new single are available via Streaming Services here.

Additionally, Pig Destroyer announce the official Head Cage record release show on September 22nd at Gramercy Theatre in Manhattan, NY. Additional confirmed live appearances are available below.

A visceral vortex of animalistic rage and extreme sonic brilliance, Head Cage is a true work of extreme metal art, that with the addition of a bass player, is hands down their most dynamic and heaviest recording to date. Across twelve tracks, Pig Destroyer  weave together harrowing tales of philosophical dualities, touching on mortality and depression, fear and violence, and the darkest complexities of the human condition, all told through the distorted lens of delightfully transgressive vocalist/lyricist JR Hayes. Musically, the band continues to push the boundaries of metal, grindcore, noise and punk, ramping up the intensity and leaving you bludgeoned in a state of utter shock, all in less than 33 minutes.

Head Cage was recorded by guitarist Scott Hull at Visceral Sound Studios, mixed and mastered by Will Putney (Exhumed, Every Time I Die, Body Count) and features striking artwork by Mark McCoy (Full of Hell, Nothing) along with guest vocal appearances by Agoraphobic Nosebleed's Richard Johnson and Kat Katz plus Full Of Hell's Dylan Walker.

REDEMPTION Release "Someone Else's Problem" Music Video

REDEMPTION Release "Someone Else's Problem" Music Video

On July 27th, Redemption will release their seventh full-length album, Long Night's Journey Into Day - the first to be produced with Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Primal Fear, Amaranthe, Doro, etc.).

For a preview of Long Night's Journey Into Day, the band has launched video for the track "Someone Else's Problem, directed by Patric Ulleaus / Revolver Films. Watch below:

The new album can be pre-ordered in the following formats:

- ltd. first edition Digipak-CD with 2 exclusive bonus tracks
- jewel-case CD
- 180g black vinyl
- navy-blue/red marbled vinyl (EU exclusive - limited to 300 copies)
- transparent light blue marbled vinyl (EU exclusive - limited to 200 copies)
- marine blue/green marbled vinyl (US exclusive - limited to 200 copies)

* exclusive bundles with a shirt, plus digital options are also available

The follow-up to 2016's The Art Of Loss, which van Dyk counts amongst Redemption's very best, Long Night's Journey Into Day is inarguably the sound of a band at the height of their powers. As followers of Redemption are also aware, it is the first full-length since the departure of vocalist Ray Alder, and features the debut of Evergrey vocalist Tom Englund.

"We were unable to tour 'The Art Of Loss' because Ray was not able to actively participate in Redemption any longer, so we decided it was time to part company shortly after its release. Ray is a dear friend, and I have nothing but respect and love for him and what we created together. But at some point, it just became untenable."

Of course, Alder's shoes were not exactly going to be easy to fill, and it was essential that his successor be someone who would immediately command respect, as well as somebody who could exceed expectations when it came to performance. Moreover, it was integral that they had someone who could fully invest in the lyrical themes concerning the human condition, which have always been central to Redemption. So, the fact that from the beginning of his career Englund has penned lyrics about feelings of doubt, fear and despair with an unshakable emotional authenticity made him the perfect choice.

"Because of the power of his voice and the emotion he brings, this isn't going to be a shocking transition for fans. Tom's also a very versatile vocalist, and being a songwriter, he has a tremendous melodic and compositional sensibility, and on top of that, we've known each other for many years, and there is a level of not just professional respect but personal friendship to it all."

Guitarists Chris Poland (Megadeth, OHM) and Simone Mularoni (DGM) return as guest musicians. When it came to backing up the music with visuals, the band once again turned to a longtime collaborator, Travis Smith, whose humbling resumé includes records by bands such as Art Of Defiance, Opeth and Iced Earth.

Long Night's Journey Into Day tracklisting:

"Eyes You Dare Not Meet In Dreams"
"Someone Else's Problem"
"The Echo Chamber"
"Impermanent"
"Indulge In Color"
"Little Men"
"And Yet"
"The Last Of Me"
"New Year's Day"
"Long Night's Journey Into Day"

"Little Men":

"Indulge In Color" playthrough video:

For ticket information go to this location.

As previously announced, Redemption will appear at ProgPower USA 2018 on September 8th in Atlanta, GA, with more US dates coming soon.

DREAM CHILD Feat. Former DIO, AC/DC, QUIET RIOT Members: 'Under The Wire' Video

DREAM CHILD Feat. Former DIO, AC/DC, QUIET RIOT Members: 'Under The Wire' Video

"Under The Wire", the new video from DREAM CHILD, a brand new band featuring former members of DIO, AC/DC and QUIET RIOT, can be seen below. The song is taken from DREAM CHILD's debut album, "Until Death Do We Meet Again", which will be released on September 14 via Frontiers Music Srl.

DREAM CHILD is:

* Craig Goldy (DIO, GIUFFRIA): Guitar

* Wayne Findlay (MSG): Guitar, Keyboards

* Simon Wright (AC/DC, DIO, OPERATION: MINDCRIME): Drums

* Rudy Sarzo (QUIET RIOT, OZZY OSBOURNE, WHITESNAKE, DIO): Bass

* Diego Valdez (HELKER): Vocals

Goldy stated about DREAM CHILD's formation: "The band DREAM CHILD was conceived during a brainstorming session with Serafino (president of Frontiers) and I one day while discussing other matters.

"I had been listening to my favorite bands a lot recently, DEEP PURPLE and RAINBOW's 'Rising' album, among others in that style, and had noticed that many people who also love those bands often have the very same comments as one another: 'They don't make music like that anymore!' Even though I said that in passing, Serafino asked me a question that would forever shape my future. He simply asked, "Well, can you?" and I said, 'Yes!!!'

"During the very first public memorial for our most beloved Ronnie James Dio, I had mentioned that whenever I do start writing original material again that I would utilize everything that I had learned from working side by side with the Master for so many years in such a way that I would hope to make him proud... and here it is! The name is inspired by one of his lyrics on the 'Dream Evil' album and the nickname he gave me at the time, Dream Child!

"We are so very fortunate to have bassist Rudy Sarzo as a featured guest, Simon Wright on drums, Wayne Findlay on guitars and keyboards, and a surprise vocal discovery from Argentina, Diego Valdez, whose voice will send shivers up your spine!

"This album will bring back memories of the days most people have thought were long gone and never to return, yet it is also new and fresh enough to be unique with some unexpected twists and turns!! No more 'same old, same old' here, no fillers. Every song is an oasis in the desert and a rare gem in the coalmines of life in this new world that thinks the past greatness of rock would remain in the past. We've brought it back to life once again!!

"I am very proud of this album and all who have made this become a reality. There are some big names who've lent a hand in the writing and I am amazed at the new and aggressive sound that producer Alessandro Del Vecchio has brought to these songs! I hope you all agree...."

Watch DEEP PURPLE Perform In Verona, Italy

Watch DEEP PURPLE Perform In Verona, Italy

Fan-filmed video footage of DEEP PURPLE's July 9 concert at Arena Di Verona in Verona, Italy can be seen below.

DEEP PURPLE and JUDAS PRIEST will embark on a co-headlining North American tour this summer. Produced by Live Nation, the outing will kick off August 21 in Cincinnati, Ohio and visit 25 cities across the U.S. and Canada before wrapping September 30 in Wheatland, California.

DEEP PURPLE's latest studio album, "inFinite", was released in April 2017, via earMUSIC. Produced by the legendary Bob Ezrin (PINK FLOYD, ALICE COOPER, KISS), "inFinite" featured 10 new tracks recorded with no musical boundaries in the spirit of the '70s. The rock pioneers have released five studio albums since 1996, augmented by an abundance of solo work and special projects.

DEEP PURPLE's current lineup features singer Ian Gillan, bassist Roger Glover, drummer Ian Paice, keyboardist Don Airey and guitarist Steve Morse. Airey joined in 2002, replacing Jon Lord on keyboards. Morse joined in 1994 as the replacement for Ritchie Blackmore.

Asked if he thinks this will be the final lineup of DEEP PURPLE, Glover told Metal Talk: "I think the last twenty-three years has been the most consistent period in the band's history. The only one change was [the addition of] Don, and that was a friendly change. Jon left. And so, yeah, I can't envisage… I mean, we don't envisage anything. We don't actually plan much for the future. The future will take care of itself — I kind of like that phrase. Steve said, 'I may not be the first guitarist in PURPLE, but I'd like to be the last.' Which is a lovely thing to say. And I feel the same way. I may not be the first bass player, but I'd like to be the last."

RATT's New Lineup Performs Live For First Time: Video, Photos

RATT's New Lineup Performs Live For First Time: Video, Photos

RATT's new lineup made its live debut last night (Saturday, July 7) in Mulvane, Kansas. Fan-filmed video footage and photos of the concert can be found below.

Singer Stephen Pearcy and bassist Juan Croucier are the sole remaining original members in RATT's current lineup, which also includes drummer Pete Holmes (BLACK 'N BLUE, RATT'S JUAN CROUCIER) and guitarists Jordan Ziff (RAZER) and Chris Sanders (BRITNY FOX, KNIGHT FURY).

When RATT announced its 2018 relaunch, Pearcy said in a statement that the band has "not had an all-original member lineup since 1991 and sadly with the passing of Robbin Crosby, that chapter is over. However, if you still want to see the original band, there are many videos on YouTube and other places to enjoy. That was a fucking great band, but I guarantee that the new breed of RATT that we put onstage every night will be in your face, energized and fully engaged. Simply put, the band our fans deserve."

As originally reported by Metal Sludge, RATT's new lineup is:

* Stephen Pearcy - Vocals

* Juan Croucier - Bass

* Jordan Ziff (RAZER) - Lead Guitar

* Chris Sanders (BRITNY FOX, KNIGHT FURY) - Rhythm Guitar

* Pete Holmes (BLACK 'N BLUE, RATT'S JUAN CROUCIER) - Drums

Back in March, it was reported by Metal Sludge that guitarist Warren DeMartini was fired by Pearcy and Croucier, with undisclosed sources telling the site that "serious issues" existed between the three members of RATT's classic lineup. Fellow RATT guitarist Carlos Cavazo apparently confirmed the report a few days later, telling the site that he couldn't see himself continuing with the band without DeMartini. "I can't picture anyone else being there other than Warren," Cavazo was quoted as saying.

RATT — featuring DeMartini, Pearcy, Croucier, DeGrasso and Cavazo — played a number of shows last year after reforming in 2016 in the midst of a highly publicized legal battle with drummer Bobby Blotzer over the rights to the RATT name.

Last month, guitarist George Lynch (DOKKEN, LYNCH MOB, KXM) said that he received an offer to play with RATT, but it eventually fell through. "We just couldn't come to an agreement on it," he said.

OMINOUS ECLIPSE To Release Sinister Album In September

OMINOUS ECLIPSE To Release Sinister Album In September

A very ambitious band passionate about writing and playing extreme music, Ottawa ON's Ominous Eclipse draws their inspiration from a wide variety of genres to create a unique hybrid sound with death metal being the main aspect combined with elements of thrash, groove, black, melodic, etc.

Active since 2014, Ominous Eclipse has been making waves on the local scene opening for names such as Revocation, The Agonist, Kalmah, Archspire, Incantation, Vesperia, Beyond Creation, Rivers Of Nihil to name a few. In the same year of their conception, they unleashed a four song EP Beyond The Apocalypse with a full length End Of Days following not long after in 2015. Now in 2018, they return with their sophomore album Sinister, due out September 14th.

The band comments: "There's no concept or theme on this album so all the songs have different meaning. The title track itself divulges into the inevitable end to humanity and potentially the world with it. It discusses the issues around the globe and also addresses the ignorance and selfishness of those indirectly affected by the chaos. It has a strong "United We Stand, Divided We Fall" theme in regards to how people can turn their backs on those in need in order to save their own skin, which ironically will lead to our end as it causes people to turn on each other. Musically for this album, you will notice we have evolved from the first release and have moved away from thrashy overtones to become more diverse including more heavily stated melodic and technical with a solid groove and death foundation."

Tracklisting:

"Death By Dissection"
"Sinister"
"Spiral Into Insanity"
"Lost At Sea"
"No Redemption For The Damned"
"Breaking The Chains"
"The Horde"
"Eye Of The Raven"

GUNS N' ROSES' 'Appetite For Destruction' Returns To Billboard Top 10 After More Than 29 Years

GUNS N' ROSES' 'Appetite For Destruction' Returns To Billboard Top 10 After More Than 29 Years

According to Billboard, GUNS N' ROSES' classic 1987 debut album, "Appetite For Destruction", has returned to the top 10 on the Billboard 200 chart after more than 29 years. The LP re-entered the chart at No. 10, following its "Locked N' Loaded" box reissue on June 29.

For tracking and charting purposes, all versions of "Appetite For Destruction" are combined, and in the week ending July 5, the album sold 33,000 equivalent units.

The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption as measured in equivalent album units. Units are comprised of traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). As of this week, each unit equals one traditional album sale, or 10 individual tracks sold from one album (a TEA unit), or 1,250 paid subscription on-demand audio song streams from an album, or 3,750 ad-supported on-demand audio song streams from an album (an SEA unit).

The "Appetite For Destruction: Locked N' Loaded" box is the one true GN'R Holy Grail. The box includes the Super Deluxe Edition with four CDs featuring the album newly remastered for the first time ever; "B-sides N' EPs" newly remastered; the previously unreleased 1986 Sound City Session N' More recordings; a Blu-ray Audio disc with the album, bonus tracks and music videos in brand new 5.1 surround sound along with the unearthed music video for "It's So Easy" originally shot in 1989 but never finished; and a 96-page hardcover book showcasing unseen photos from Axl Rose's personal archive and a wealth of memorabilia.

Among the rare and previously unreleased material are two songs GUNS N' ROSES recorded with producer Mike Clink, "Shadow Of Your Love" — laid down during a trial session that resulted in Clink getting the production job — and an acoustic version of "Move To The City", which was recorded during the "GN'R Lies" sessions. Additional highlights of the unreleased audio include the first two work-in-progress recording attempts of the 1991 epic masterpiece "November Rain" which was originally penned as the ballad for "Appetite", covers of songs like Elvis Presley's "Heartbreak Hotel", AEROSMITH's "Mama Kin", two distinctly different recordings of THE ROLLING STONES' "Jumpin' Jack Flash" (one electric, one acoustic) and two never-finished tracks/jams, "The Plague" and "New Work Tune".

On the vinyl front, the original "Appetite For Destruction" album has been broadened to 2LPs for the first time, including expanded gatefold jacket art and a limited-edition foil printed plastic slipcase. The music itself is being presented on three sides only for maximum audio fidelity, with the fourth side featuring a vinyl Hologroove Hologram of the band's iconic logo. Seven seven-inch singles are also included: the five original singles from the album, plus one for "Patience" and a new song, the aforementioned "Shadow Of Your Love". All of the bonus tracks appearing on 12-inch vinyl will only be available in the "Locked N' Loaded" box, including a reissue of the band's first EP, "Live ?!*@ Like A Suicide".

I AM MORBID — the band featuring former MORBID ANGEL members David Vincent (vocals, bass) and Tim Yeung (drums) alongside guitarists Bill Hudson (CIRCLE II CIRCLE, TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA) and Ira Black (METAL CHURCH, LIZZY BORDEN) — played at the Kilkim Žaibu festival in Lithuania on June 30. Professionally filmed video footage of the "Rapture" performance from the concert can be seen below.

Formed in 2016, I AM MORBID plays material from MORBID ANGEL's "Altars Of Madness" (1989), "Blessed Are The Sick" (1991), "Covenant" (1993) and "Domination" (1995) albums.

Vincent told Ghost Cult about I AM MORBID's formation: "It's been discussed off and on for a few years now, but, as they say, actions speak louder than words. While it was exciting to discuss, it was held off for a few years until I decided to go through some personal changes in my life, and really absorb the possibility of it happening. I went ahead and focused on my roots music, but this kept lingering, and now it's time for I AM MORBID to finally happen."

Regarding the I AM MORBID setlist, Vincent said: "Like everything I do, I want to make this special. This is very different from MORBID ANGEL. If you want to see a MORBID ANGEL show, you know where to go, but this isn't it. I'm only going to be performing songs that I wrote on this tour. If I didn't write it, we aren't playing it. We are going to throw in things, here or there, to make things more unique, but it's going to be one brutal show. I can promise you that."

MORBID ANGEL's controversial 2011 album, "Illud Divinum Insanus", marked the group's first CD to feature Vincent since "Domination".

Last December, the band released a new studio album, "Kingdoms Disdained", with a lineup that includes Steve Tucker on bass/vocals, Scott Fuller (ANNIHILATED, ERRORGEIST) on drums, and Dan Vadim Von (guitarist/frontman of the American death metal group VADIMVON) on second guitar.

THE 69 EYES Preparing To Record New Album

THE 69 EYES Preparing To Record New Album

Finnish rockers THE 69 EYES are preparing to enter the studio to begin recording their new album. The follow-up to 2016's "Universal Monsters" is expected to arrive in early 2019.

Speaking to TotalRock Radio at last month's Sweden Rock Festival, THE 69 EYES singer Jyrki 69 stated about the band's plans for the coming months (see video below): "THE 69 EYES is playing, during this summer, a handful of shows, but it's kind of a quiet summer, because we are writing new material for the next 69 EYES album. We start to record in July. And we're probably finished most of the songs by now. Actually, I'm happy to say that because I've been writing the lyrics all these couple of months. And then we start to record the album. It should come out early spring — February, March. We play a handful of shows, and then I have my solo band; I'm doing some shows in the States in the fall as well with that. So I'm keeping myself busy and getting ready to celebrate the 30th anniversary of THE 69 EYES in 2019."

Asked where he gets the inspiration for his lyrics, Jyrki said: "I trust in the first impression. When I hear the demo song, I should have the idea of some words or some picture in my mind immediately; I trust in that and use that first impression. If I have to toss and turn the song, I sort of give it back to our guitarist, who writes most of the songs, like, 'Oh, this wasn't good enough.' It's kind of a cruel way to do it, but it has ended up to work by this far. And then, I can't explain where the idea, or where the main lyrics sometimes come from. They're definitely not kind of, like, I plan to do something; they come from the music and they come [from] what happens around me and around the world. For instance, this time is very chaotic, negative, kind of doomsday kind of life right now, so it's very inspirational as well — unfortunately, but fortunately."

THE 69 EYES' 11th album, "Universal Monsters", was released in April 2016 via Nuclear Blast. The CD was recorded with producer Johnny Lee Michaels at his Helsinki-based Bat Cave Studios.

VICIOUS RUMORS Announces New Singer, NICK COURTNEY

San Francisco Bay Area metallers VICIOUS RUMORS have announced the addition of vocalist Nick Courtney to the group's ranks. Courtney joins the veteran band for the upcoming 46-date "Digital Dictator 30th-Anniversary Tour" of North America and Canada, which will take place from August 31 to October 20.

Due to the massive size of the U.S. tour, the band will bring the "Digital Dictator" trek to Europe in April 2019, where one show is confirmed already: April 13 in Mannheim, Germany at the Delta Metal Meeting.

Nick adds power, style and dedication back to the band. Guitarist Geoff Thorpe says: "Nick has a real kick-ass aproach! We're ready to tear it up on tour with his powerful and melodic voice."

At 30 years old, Nick comes from Vancouver, Washington, bringing a new fire and energy to the VICIOUS RUMORS camp. He was am "American Idol" contestant who stood his ground singing JUDAS PRIEST and IRON MAIDEN at his audition... one of the very few metal singers to ever make the second round on the show!

Former singer Brian Allen recomended Nick to the band as schedule and direction conflicts led to his departure.

VICIOUS RUMORS' previously announced special-edition DVD is now titled "40th Anniversary - Live in Germany" and has a also new cover. The DVD of last year's crushing show at the Bang Your Head!!! festival in Germany will be available directly from the band starting August 31 at the first show of the tour in Santa Rosa, California at the University of Rock. The DVD will be available only at the shows and online through the VICIOUS RUMORS social media sites.

Olly Hahn, head of SPV/Steamhammer, adds: "Geoff and the band are real fighters and legends when it comes to U.S. metal. Looking forward to a new crushing metal album... the ball is rolling again!"

VICIOUS RUMORS is already in pre-production on new material and is planning to release the next album in the summer of 2019.

BLACK FAST Release "Silhouette Usurper" Guitar Playthrough Video

BLACK FAST Release "Silhouette Usurper" Guitar Playthrough Video

Black Fast has released a guitar playthrough video for "Silhouette Usurper", a track from the upcoming Spectre Of Ruin album, out on Friday, July 13th via Entertainment One. Watch below:

Like its predecessor, Black Fast’s Spectre Of Ruin was summoned into sharp focus at Mana Studios in St. Petersburg, Florida, with Erik Rutan, the Hate Eternal frontman and ex-Morbid Angel guitarist who has produced albums by genre titans like Cannibal Corpse, Goatwhore, and Six Feet Under. It’s all killer, no filler, demonstrating the destructive force of focused neo-thrash and progressive death-infused heavy metal at its finest.

Black Fast follow the roadmap laid down by the great bands with “Angel” and “Death” in their names, swearing off the trappings of the mainstream with a steadfast dedication to their chosen craft. As vocalist/guitarist, Aaron Akin once summarized, “We’ve pushed our chips all-in since the beginning. We threw caution to the wind. We’re playing metal. We don’t really give a shit about ‘making it.’”

This music is a vibrant soundtrack to society’s collapse and a celebration of defiant resolution. The Black Fast mission is ruthlessly simple: champion musical aggression, bark at the moon, raise a fist and headbang like there’s no tomorrow.

Pre-order digital copies of the album here, or physical copies here.

Tracklisting:

"Cloak Of Lies"
"Silhouette Usurper"
"Scarecrow And Spectre"
"Phantom I Am"
"Mist Of Ruin"
"Temple Of Leviathan"
"Famine Angel"
"Crescent Aberration"
"Husk"

Black Fast will hit the road this summer in various stops across the eastern half of the United States. The band kicks it off with a performance at the 17th Annual ShowcaseSTL presented by The Riverfront Times followed by a batch of support dates with Exmortus on the Summer Of Steel tour. Black Fast will then head out with Ringworm until they reach Cincinnati, OH where they'll participate in the first Annual Transplant Fest with Ringworm and Incantation on July 21st.

Watch 360-Degree Video Of METALLICA Performing 'Sad But True' In Stockholm

Watch 360-Degree Video Of METALLICA Performing 'Sad But True' In Stockholm

METALLICA has uploaded a 360-degree video of the band performing the song "Sad But True" on May 7 at Ericsson Globe in Stockholm, Sweden. Check it out below.

METALLICA recently landed on Pollstar's Global Concert Pulse chart with concert grosses of more than $2 million per market appearance on the band's European tour.

The San Francisco-based metal giants averaged 20,451 tickets per market, at an average ticket price of $104.

The 19 market reports included a two-night stand at Stuttgart, Germany's Hanns Martin Schleyer Halle, which grossed $3.3 million. Both shows were sold out, with an attendance of 14,695 per concert.

METALLICA is currently home on a three-month break before launching a North American arena tour on September 2 in Madison, Wisconsin.

Touring in support of its latest album, "Hardwired… To Self-Destruct", that arrived in November 2016, METALLICA launched the world tour in Latin America a month before the disc's release. In early 2017, prior to the North American stadium tour, the band made festival appearances and headlined concerts at venues in Asia, Europe and Latin America.

Although METALLICA played U.S. stadiums last summer, the band was mostly indoors for the first leg of its European tour last fall.

METALLICA's European tour included the first drone swarm for a major touring act. It consisted of 120 autonomous micro drones that emerge from the main-stage prop lifts during the song "Moth Into Flames" and swarm into several formations over the band's heads, according to Pollstar.

The 2017 dates on the "WorldWired" tour, which included stadium shows across the U.S., grossed $110.3 million in North America and $152.8 million worldwide.
