Vulgar Devils will release their debut album Temptress Of The Dark on December 2nd via Pure Rock Records.

Vulgar Devils is the latest signing of Pure Rock Records, but the members of the band are not unknown. The trio was founded by singer and guitarist Dave Overkill, known to be the head of the Cleveland power/thrash legend Destructor. As Vulgar Dave Overkill he has also been able to win an old bandmate, Matt Flammable, for the position of the drummer. The bass position finally is filled with Erin Lung (Venomin James).

Together they worship to the spirit of old times and open the gate to the early ‘80s, when the music and the musicians were still young. And so they play early ‘80s metal, that has been touched by ‘70s hard rock, and a lot of groove in a rough and rolling way. Mixed and mastered by Michael Kusch from the QuSound Studio Hagen Germany.

AVENGED SEVENFOLD is expected to reveal all the details of its new CD at an event taking place this Thursday (October 27), in which the band will give a global, 3D, 360-degree, live-streamed virtual reality performance in partnership with Universal Music Group, Capitol Records and VRLIVE. Fans around the world will be able to view the live stream on Universal's newly released VRTGO virtual reality platform, powered by VRLIVE's advanced technology. According to a press statement, fans will be able experience the show "as if they were there."

VRTGO is freely available on iOS and Android. VRLIVE will also be streaming the event to 50 Samsung Gear VR headsets on the ground level at the event. Fans using the headsets will be able to experience the show from the viewpoint of the stage.

AVENGED SEVENFOLD debuted a new song and video online two weeks ago called "The Stage". At the time, the California band's seventh studio album was rumored to be called "Voltaic Oceans".

The band launched its campaign for the new album — it first for Capitol Records — with projections or pictures of the band's mascot, the Deathbat, in cities around the world.

AVENGED SEVENFOLD opened for METALLICA in Minneapolis in August and completed a string of headlining and festival dates earlier this fall.

The band's seventh studio album will be its first with new drummer Brooks Wackerman following the dismissal of Arin Ilejay in 2015.

AVENGED SEVENFOLD's previous two releases, 2013's "Hail To The King" and 2010's "Nightmare", both topped the Billboard album chart.

Deathrash cult, Crucified Mortals, are streaming their new album Psalms Of The Dead Choir in full ahead of the international release on October 28th via Hells Headbangers. 

One of the best-kept secrets of the long-fertile Cleveland metal scene, Crucified Mortals have been quiet-yet-prolifically perfecting their craft since 2001. Under the steely resolve of founder/mastermind Reaper, a handful of demos and splits culminated in Crucified Mortals' debut album. Released in 2011 and simply self-titled, this debut album largely introduced the band to the wider, international metal scene, proving that they're one of the hungriest and most charismatic deathrashing metal bands around. But as much as Crucified Mortals was a highlight for the band, a decade after its formation, it will now be eclipsed by Psalms Of The Dead Choir.

In many ways, Psalms Of The Dead Choir is both a consolidation of Crucified Mortals' considerable strengths and a fresh new start for the band. Whereas Crucified Mortals featured a then-full lineup, here on Psalms Of The Dead Choir, Reaper handles all vocals, guitars, and bass and is once again joined by Ash Thomas (Shed the Skin, Vladimirs, Faithxtractor) on drums, who's manned the Crucified Mortals skins for the last five years. Together, they explode forth with the trademark deathrash for which the band's built a steady name in the metal underground. Immediately memorable but never relying on rote verse/chorus formula, there's a narrative flow to Crucified Mortals that's heightened by Reaper's fierce and clearly enunciated vocals, telling twisted tales of macabre horror and fiendish deeds - and compelling instant headbanging. And yet, for however feverish the attack may be across these Psalms, there's a newfound sense of nuance and dynamics, largely spurred on by the dramatically twisted guest guitar solos of Sauron's Lore Lord. As a whole unit, Crucified Mortals breathe new life into thrash-intensive death metal (or death-intensive thrash?) that hasn't sounded this vital since classic Deceased or even the early days of Carnivore, Rigor Mortis, and Hobbs' Angel of Death. Montréal-based death metal studio project Krokmitën have officially released their third album Heta today (October 26th). True to the formation's ideology, Heta is available for free in high quality audio and video and can be downloaded right now at the band's official website.

This new 36-minute non-stop piece was recorded and mixed by Simlev (Krokmitën guitarist/vocalist) at the Krokmitën Studio in Montréal, Canada and mastered by Studio Engineer J-F Dagenais (Kataklysm, Malevolent Creation, Misery Index) at JFD Studio in Texas. This time around the opus is also available in the form of a playthrough video featuring the actual guitar and drum tracking of the studio recording for the entire album. To complete Heta, Simlev recruited drummer Guyot for the project. Guyot played on critics and fans' favorite The Aura, Montreal's Beyond Creation's first album.

Frontman Simlev had this to reveal about this third offering: "I wrote this one fairly quickly. After the lengthy Omicron-Omega that clocks in at 50 minutes, I felt like writing a condensed album this time. It is jam-packed with primal pounding riffs, it's hardly experimental but still somewhat unpredictable. I took a simplistic approach with the recording and mixing as well. I wanted to try trading off the wall-of-sound approach used on the two previous albums, for a more defined and clear tone."

"The premise for the album goes like this: In their quest to prove the existence of the elusive H particle and to know more about dark energy and dark matter, 10,000 scientists and engineers from over 100 countries gathered together to build the largest single machine our world has ever seen; a gargantuan particle collider powerful enough to create and disrupt stars on galactic levels. Little did they know that they were ripping apart the very basic structures of space and time, thus allowing an unknown insidious force to slither through and tap into the population’s most primal instincts, to violently unleash them and ultimately lead mankind to extinction!" adds Simlev.

Los Angeles based thrash band, Three Thirteen, featuring Randy Weitzel (In This Moment, Blackfall) have released their horror themed music video for "Brain Damage (Undead)". The track is from the band's upcoming album, Dawn Of The Shred, which is slated for release later this year, and the video was directed by renowned music video director Matt Zane (Zakk Wylde, John 5,).

Says Randy Weitzel: “Two things that shaped and influenced my style beginning when I was younger were thrash metal and horror movies from the eighties. For the ‘Brain Damage’ video, I wanted to capture the humor and campy vibe of movies like Return Of The Living Dead and Evil Dead 2. I came up with the concept to compliment the music, and Matt took my ideas, ran with them, and made it all happen with ease.”

Weitzel adds, “The album Dawn Of The Shred is influenced by my favorite Metallica, Megadeth, and Anthrax albums. Early thrash was melodic, especially vocally, and I wanted to do something that pays tribute to that era - catchy vocal melody hooks, shredding guitars and songs about zombies and aliens.”

Hamburg based 5-piece sludge and stoner metal band, High Fighter, has just returned from a quick tour with Elder in October, a busy festival summer with live appearances at such as Summer Breeze Festival, Desertfest Berlin, Up In Smoke and alongside many more shows and tours around Europe in 2016, with their  debut album Scars & Crosses, which came out this summer on Svart Records, the band have just released a brand new video for the album track, “Darkest Days”

In the typical High Fighter manner, this new video comes like the previous visual works of the band, in a 100% DIY-production. Fuzzy, dark, lots of headbanging and with a wild soundmix of bluesy stoner riffs, screams you will feel to your bone and some heavy sludge tunes, get on your next trip with High Fighter below.

Mona Miluski, vocalist of the band, explains: “Since we're releasing this video today, exactly two years ago when we unveiled the band to public and released our first EP that day, so many great moments, shows, new friends and experiences followed for us, I see this new video for “Darkest Days” as some cool and trippin summary. Of two more than amazing years of our short and young band history already. Our bassist Constantin again did such great job on the video! He edited it all by himself and it's again a pure do-it-yourself production. We used several live footage from our shows the past two years, and took some behind the scenes from tours and when we've been on the road… It's a very dark track and video but also visually weird, wild and psychedelic on the other hand. Living Colour performed at the grand opening festivities of the National Museum Of African American History And Culture (NMAAHC) in Washington, DC on September 24th. Video from the performance can be seen below:

Living Colour recently released a new mixtape entitled Who Shot Ya?, which includes three songs from the Shade sessions, plus “Who Shot Ya?” remixes.

"You see the names you might expect to see like Tamir Rice and Michael Brown, Jr., but you also see the names of Kurt Cobain, Malcolm X, Dimebag Darrell, Martin Luther King, Marvin Gaye and Lee Harvey Oswald," guitarist Vernon Reid tells Rolling Stone. "The absurdity of it all is staggering. We're portraying the obvious crisis through the use of graphics and stats, but we are also hoping people see the mass proliferation of guns in new ways. We can't keep ignoring the profligate amount of firearms so easily accessible to people. We respect people's rights to bear arms, but you can't argue the Second Amendment side of the issue without also looking at how the gun manufacturers are profiting from the death of others. The bitter irony of a song like 'Who Shot Ya?' is what happened to Biggie and Tupac. There's what the song was originally about and what the song wound up being about. It's a meta-tragedy."

Chaos Records will release the debut album from Heavens Decay, The Great Void Of Mystery, on December 12th. Led by Julio Viterbo (Tormentor, Shub Niggurath, Cenotaph, The Chasm), the music is primarily NWOBHM-inspired heavy metal infused with the range of influences from Viterbo's impressive career as a musician.

After a long and illustrious career in death metal as a guitarist in the aforementioned bands, Viterbo decided to reconnect with the heavy metal that enveloped him as a youth and gave meaning to his life. The groundwork was laid in August 2013 when Viterbo participated in the recording of Acerus debut album The Unreachable Salvation, a heavy metal album for which he composed half the songs. The work was a turning point in his career as a guitarist, allowing Viterbo to explore new sounds and expand his compositional scope.

The result was the launch of Heavens Decay in 2015. After composing several songs, Viterbo invited Oscar Clorio (Damned Cross, Cenotaph, Shub Niggurath, Denial) to join him on the journey as drummer, The pair then recruited Nick Hernandez (Stone Magnum) as vocalist. The songs were completed via the Internet, as Oscar lives in Mexico City, while Julio and Nick call Chicago home.

Finally in July 2016 Heavens Decay recorded The Great Void Of Mystery in Chicago's Minbal studios. The album was engineered by Matt Russell and mastered by Dan Swanö in Unisound studios in Sweden. Chaos Records will release the album on CD and digital formats. The band is already working on new material for the next instalment of heavy metal fury.

In 2016, Brutal Unrest hit the Soundlodge Studio again to record their new album, entitled Trinitas. With this record Brutal Unrest received a great response from Hammerheart Records so an agreement for a January 2017 release was reached. Brutal Unrest enriched its brutal sound with a more atmospheric approach of death metal, while the brutality and intensity is still present.

Trinitas, simply said, is a killer death metal album that sounds top notch, with killer songs, an all out great performance by a band that knows how to create memorable songs that make you want to push the repeat button.

The artwork for Trinitas was created by Jochen Schilling. A fitting composition for a great album that will nestle itself in the heart of any brutal death metal fan worldwide.

The first official photo of the new lineup of Swedish metal veterans ENTOMBED can be be seen above. Joining original ENTOMBED members Alex Hellid (guitar), Uffe Cederlund (guitar) and Nicke Andersson (drums) are Robert Andersson (vocals) and Nicke's half brother Edvin Aftonfalk (bass), both formerly of the Swedish death metal band MORBUS CHRON.

ENTOMBED will perform on the now-sold-out Close-Up Båten cruise, leaving Stockholm on board M/S Silija Galaxy on October 27. They will then play ENTOMBED's groundbreaking 1991 album, "Clandestine", in its entirety at Malmö Live in Malmö, Sweden on November 12. Also appearing with the band at the in Malmö gig will be Orvar Säfström, who sang on ENTOMBED's 1990 EP "Crawl".

Sitting in first with conductor Josef Rhedin and the 100-plus member Malmö Symphony Orchestra for Thomas Von Wachenfeldt's arrangement of "Clandestine", the band will perform "Clandestine" from front to back for the very first time. Hellid said: "'Clandestine' is a complex beast. Revisiting it 25 years later is definitely something special."

Decibel magazine inducted the album into its Hall Of Fame series in their December issue. Editor Albert Mudrian said "Clandestine" is "one of the greatest death metal records — Swedish or otherwise — of all time."

BLABBERMOUTH.NET first announced the trio's assemblage earlier this year. Since then, fans have questioned the possibility of new material from the death metal pioneers. Cederlund asserts: "We're not going to do big world tours. Right now we have these two shows booked and we're taking it from there. We have been re-recording old stuff to see how we sound today — and we like it. Time is flying faster as I get older and I would love to be part of a new ENTOMBED album. I'm open for it." Andersson noted: "We realized it's been 25 years since 'Clandestine' first came out and we never properly performed it live. It's about damn time! I wanted to be part of the earlier orchestra shows but schedules clashed. This time the stars aligned such that we can do both the eerie cinematic Christopher Young-style ('Hellraiser') set, where we sit in with the orchestra, and then the full-on original performance as a band. It's an awesome way to celebrate." "Just getting into a room with Nicke and Uffe is exciting," noted Hellid. "Getting back on stage will be amazing. The ENTOMBED band that will perform on the Close-Up Båten cruise and in Malmö is not to be confused with ENTOMBED A.D., which features ENTOMBED vocalist Lars Göran Petrov alongside Olle Dahlstedt (drums), Nico Elgstrand (guitar) and Victor Brandt (bass).

Hellid and Petrov have been embroiled in a legal battle over the ENTOMBED name for several years. In 2014, Petrov was awarded the right to use the band name in connection with future recording and touring activities, a decision which Hellid appealed without success. The guitarist then went on to register a trademark for beverage production under the "Entombed" name. This move did not sit well with Hellid's former bandmate, who filed a letter of protest against Alex's registration of the name, claiming that it could be confused with band activities. He also said that Hellid acted in "bad faith" when he registered name and that there was a desire to "deceive the public." Petrov's protest, however, found no favor with the Swedish Patent And Registration Office, which rejected his claims on the issue in a March 8 ruling.

ENTOMBED A.D.'s second album, "Dead Dawn", was released on February 26 via Century Media.

“Edge Of The Universe”, the new video from FM singer Steve Overland, can be seen below. The track is featured on Overland’s new album ,Contagious, which was released on October 21st via UK label Escape Music Ltd.

Steve Overland has a history that goes way back into the late '70s. His first major recording was with the band Wildlife in 1980. After the demise of Wildlife, Steve went on to form cult British melodic rock band FM, a band that released numerous albums throughout the '80s and '90s, and more recently in 2013.

Steve originally teamed up with Escape Music to provide lead vocals for the Boston Tribute album, singing "Amanda". Steve also joined forces with Steve Morris of Heartland to record the Shadowman albums: Land Of The Living, Different Angles, Ghost In The Mirror, and Watching Over You. Steve has also fronted two releases by The Ladder: Future Miracles, and Sacred.

"Maximalism" was produced once again by Jacob Hansen (VOLBEAT, EPICA, DELAIN) and mastered by Svante Forsback (RAMMSTEIN, APOCALYPTICA, DRAGONFORCE). Refusing to be pinned down by genre or convention, AMARANTHE have consistently pursued the less travelled path, blending different sounds and styles to create a signature hybrid approach, and "Maximalism" sees their collective wide-angle vision laid out with greater skill and conviction than ever before. "Take Me Down" recently landed No. 1 on the Rock Radio chart, marking the band's fourth consecutive No. 1 single. Frontwoman Taylor Momsen told Kerrang! magazine about the song: "It's a classic rock 'n' roll tune, which was inspired by the Robert Johnson story of going to the crossroads and selling his soul for rock 'n' roll — which I kind of did in one way. [Laughs] I gave my life to the music; I gave everything else up for it. And it's a simple story about giving your life to something you love so much and you need it so bad that you're willing to sell your soul for it."

"Who You Selling For" was produced by THE PRETTY RECKLESS's longtime collaborator Kato Khandwala. The songs were written by Momsen and guitarist Ben Phillips.

Asked if "Who You Selling For" is autobiographical, Momsen told the Baltimore radio station 98 Rock: "Well, I think all of our records, in one sense, are autobiographical. I mean, I write them, so I'm writing about my experiences and my life and what I have observed and what I know. So I think this coming record is the next evolution of the band, so we're really excited for everyone to hear it. It's very diverse and eclectic, I guess is a good word to describe it. But, of course, it's personal. I mean, I write it."

The World's Greatest Collector Car Auctions will auction a Hennessey Venom GT Spyder owned by rock and roll legend Steven Tyler at its 46th annual Scottsdale Auction in January 2017. The supercar will also be on display at the 2016 SEMA Show in Barrett-Jackson's booth, November 1-4.

This rare supercar is the fifth of only 12 Hennessey Venom GTs ever created and first of the Spyder convertibles. Airbourne just wrapped a successful headline tour in support of Breakin' Outta Hell. During the trek, frontman Joel O'Keeffe suffered some minor injuries in a stage fall, yet didn't miss a beat or a show, jumping back on stage and continuing to play mere seconds after he took the tumble.

Airbourne will next head to Europe to embark on a tour with Volbeat.

Following its original release in 2014, Devin Townsend's debut as Casualties Of Cool saw a full worldwide release on the January 15th, 2016 with the two CDs joined by a brand new bonus live DVD featuring a full set filmed at London's beautiful Union Chapel during the short run of shows that took place around the albums launch.

Devin had this to say: "Casualties Of Cool is a project that means a great deal to me, and also one that we have only had the chance to play live with three (3) times (!). This DVD we made was the second show we ever played and the first with Morgan on drums, so there's an element of 'warts and all' involved that I take into consideration. However, Casualties is very refreshing for me. No click tracks, no backing tracks, no talking and a hefty dose of live improvisation make this a situation that I believe with some exposure could hold an absolute ton of potential. The idea is to take a typical folky aesthetic and wrap it in a moody, kind of haunted David Lynch type aura. It's great fun and Che is brilliant.

I have always said that having played metal and then trying to do something different is akin to having had done porn and then trying to be a 'legitimate' actor. I love metal and will always play it, but damn... I think given half a chance Casualties Of Cool could be really awesome as a live entity. So anyways, I'm not holding my breath but we took some time and 3 cameras to our second gig ever at the Union Chapel last year in London, and here is a song. I hope some of you enjoy it.” :)

For Townsend, Casualties Of Cool is an escape - from over 20 years of relentless productivity, of the pre-conceptions of him that come with being one of the biggest names in his sphere. A project over four years in the making, largely at night when home from turning the dial up for the day job in the studio, Casualties Of Cool has seen Townsend look at himself in order to go forward. Digging out a battered old Fender amp and telecaster, he revisited the rootsy country and North American folk music of his youth. It provides the backbone of the album that's eventually come to fruition, opening with “Daddy’s” shuffling percussion and bluesy finger-picked motif, resurfacing during “The Code” and it’s sultry twilight atmospherics and “Forgive Me” with it’s hushed ambience. It's a subtly applied but vital part of this record, providing the bones for the flesh to hang from.

"My childhood was full of that type of music," says Townsend. "At Christmas my grandfather would insist on the whole family sitting around singing uncomfortably along to Johnny Cash songs and Irish stuff like the Clancy Brothers. It was a big part of my childhood, it's not like I'm putting on a new hat here."  

The luxuriant vocals of Ché Aimee Dorval have draped themselves over a previous Townsend release - 2009's Ki - and so it was perhaps no surprise that the two would find their way back to each other. Recorded by Aimee herself on her laptop, her voice is as important as the shuffling folk that permeates the record, in acting as a glue for the whole thing - her wistful tones hold together constructs so free-form at times they might disintegrate.

Directed by Jessica Cope (Steven Wilson, Storm Corrosion), Devin had the following to say about it: “Uere is the video for “Mountaintop”, from Casualties Of Cool. I have been a fan of Jessica Copes' work for a while now, and the opportunity to work with her rose for this album and we are thrilled with the result.  Although the concept of the video is loosely based on the concept of the record, we found it worked better as a standalone piece. Ché Aimee Dorval and I therefore decided not to have the characters in the video portray us personally. I hope you enjoy this, I'm so happy to have an opportunity to work with brilliant artists in the career. I'm very proud of this album and video!"

For Townsend, the themes of the record surround what he believes to be a bridge in his career; an acceptance of the artist he is today and embracing the fear of leaving behind what people know of him.

In a new episode of Talking Metal, BulletBoys vocalist Marq Torien said he would “love to sing for the Stone Temple Pilots.”

“I’m a huge Stone Temple Pilots fan”, said Torien. “I’ll just say it right now, I would love to be the singer for the Stone Temple Pilots. I would love the opportunity for it and love those guys to death.”

Hollywood rockers, Bulletboys, will release a new studio album in 2017. 

Bulletboys formed in 1988 at the very peak of the Los Angeles hard rock movement. With record companies constantly searching for new talent, they possessed a pedigree that most bands would kill for. Unlike the other rockers of the day, the Bulletboys were more hard rock and blues fusion than pure hair metal. Using their credentials, they were able to quickly capture the attention of music fans around the world while frontman Marq Torien emerged as one of the most underrated vocalists of the era. Thanks to comparisons to the likes of Aerosmith and especially Van Halen, talent scouts came running and the band quickly received their first major label contract.

With a debut album, produced by none other than Ted Templeman (Van Halen, Montrose) which sported the the smash hit single "Smooth Up in Ya”, Bulletboys officially established themselves as the leaders of the then LA rock scene. Constant tours and the support of MTV soon brought the album to platinum status. Two more albums soon followed, Freakshow and Za-Za.

The band continued to tour and release albums surviving throughout the grunge era and outlasting the nu-metal craze. With eight more studio albums under their belt, Bulletboys are ready to start again with a new label, feeling stronger than ever!

Irish doomsters Mourning Beloveth will perform a special set in the Netherlands on Saturday 29th October when they make what will be their third appearance at Dutch Doom Days at the Baroeg, Rotterdam.  And their reasons for doing so?  Quite simple really - not only does Mourning Beloveth have a considerable following in the Netherlands, but they are also huge fans of the Rotterdam venue. Plus the football of course!  As the band explains:

"This will be our third Dutch Doom Days appearance and one we are really looking forward to. We first played Baroeg in 2003 when on the Doomination of Europe Tour with Morgion and The Prophecy, and this is what started  our love affair with the place.   So much so that even if we are not playing at Dutch Doom Days or making a stop there during a tour,  we have also become die-hard Rotterdam Hooligans - the Irish Branch.
 
"We have had many legendary nights at Baroeg, mainly when the gigs were over; from 4am doom sing-along to Feyenoord Gabba songs.  We were even asked by our Dutch friends at Baroeg to contribute to the letter from the venue to the Dutch Government for funding assistance, something that was a real honour for us.  And naturally with Feyenoord 5 points clear at the top of the Eredivise, and a home game next weekend we might even get some good football on Sunday morning."

 
So what exactly does Mourning Beloveth have in store for the fans and the venue on Saturday?
 
"The most important thing of course is the music, and we are due to headline the Saturday night and we have decided to do something special.  We will play Nick Cave's ‘The Weeping Song’ and this will be only third time that we perform it live.  We know this is a favourite amongst our Dutch friends, and the last time we played it on stage also happened to be at the Baroeg.   Unfortunately due to the gremlins that had taken up residence in our equipment, or maybe it was in our heads, we were not satisfied with the performance that time.   We're happy to say that rehearsals are going well, and if anyone knows the words they are more than welcome to help us out and sing along with us.
 
"We will also be playing an acoustic version of ‘A Terrible Beauty Is Born’, with the original video playing behind us.   It will be the first time we have played anything acoustically outside of rehearsals or the recording studio, and we hope everyone will enjoy it.  For those who don't know the song, the lyrics are taken from WB Yeats poem Easter 1916 which is about Ireland's fight for freedom and the changing attitudes of many people who witnessed the ultimate sacrifice made by so many men and women who laid down their lives for a free Ireland.  But the words of the poem could resonate in any country in the world where people have fought for freedom since the beginning of time, and the video reflects this.

The video of "A Terrible Beauty Is Born" that will be used at Dutch Doom Days was created by the band and John Mulvaney and originally released on April 24th - the day that marked the Centenary of the Easter  Uprising.  Since its release there have been more than a few who have questioned what Yeats would have thought of his words being interpreted by a metal band, and some who questioned what the band's motivation was for writing the song.   So, earlier this year the band released an unscripted video where they explained what lies behind the track, the recording process, how such a different sound came about, and what it might lead to in the future.  Titled "A Terrible Interview Is Born", the video can be seen below:

The official music video for KORN's new song "Take Me" can be seen below. The track is taken from the band's latest album, "The Serenity Of Suffering", which was released on October 21. The follow-up to 2013's "The Paradigm Shift" was helmed by Grammy Award-winning producer Nick Raskulinecz, who has previously worked with FOO FIGHTERS, DEFTONES, MASTODON and RUSH, among others. The CD features a guest appearance by SLIPKNOT frontman Corey Taylor on the song "A Different World".

"The Serenity Of Suffering" marks the band's return to Roadrunner, which previously released 2010's "Korn III - Remember Who You Are" and 2011's "The Path Of Totality".

KORN guitarists James "Munky" Shaffer and Brian "Head" Welch told Live Nation TV in a new interview what they felt singer Jonathan Davis meant by "The Serenity Of Suffering" title. Shaffer said: "The way I see it is it's his take on the record . . . I felt that he was kind of suffering — he was battling inside of himself to get to that creative place that he felt comfortable to start writing for the album, but it made a great record. This time for him, though, it felt a lot more difficult."

Welch added: "I mean, he's not perfect — obviously, none of us are — he's just a sweet guy, and, unfortunately, he lets people hurt him a lot and he lives with it. He feels like normal when he's suffering because he has suffered so much."

Davis has a somewhat different view, telling The Pulse Of Radio that the title reflects a strange comfort he finds in feeling bad. "I feel like sometimes I'm in that place so much, I feel serenity when I'm there," he said. "That's where I feel comfortable, when I'm down. And I think people who have ever battled depression and stuff like that, it's not enjoyable, but that kind of feeling you can relate to."

A breathtaking, behind-the-scenes, comprehensive look at one of the world's most legendary metal bands, the voluminous coffee table book features rare and never-before-seen images of PANTERA in the studio, at home, on the road, and kicking ass on stage, from their humble beginnings to their grand finish. "A Vulgar Display Of Pantera" also includes contributions and recollections from various band members.

The images in the 384-page book were provided by Joe Giron, one of PANTERA's longtime photographers and earliest supporters. The foreword was penned by former PANTERA bassist Rex Brown, who also provided anecdotes in the book along with drummer Vinnie Paul Abbott.

PANTERA was one of the most successful heavy metal bands of all time—and arguably the most important metal band of the 1990s. PANTERA's 1994 album, "Far Beyond Driven", debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 chart. PANTERA has sold over twenty-five million albums worldwide. In the United States alone, four PANTERA albums were certified platinum (one million sold) and two more went gold (five hundred thousand sold).

Asked by Songfacts in a 2015 interview what his greatest contribution to a PANTERA song was as far as songwriting, Rex said: "We were the three-piece kind of thing. You know, that kind of VAN HALEN stuff. So pretty much all the stuff that was underneath the solos, and any time there was a key change, that was me. And our arrangements a lot of the time, just depending, Phil [Anselmo, vocals] and I would work on those. But any time we changed into a key pattern, changes or stuff like that, was me. And me and Dime [guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott] worked on a lot of those riffs hand in hand — mine with his. He'd have this little part and I would come in with a different little section at the end of it; that's what made the riff. But any guitar player in the band is going to come up with the majority of the shit a lot of the time. We had four very different individuals in the band, and it took all of us to make what I called the "magic in a box." You'd put those four individuals together, and that was magic. Once you opened that box up, there were so many influences between all of us, and we would just pour them all into it."

Brown also talked about PANTERA's enduring influence. He said: "Every band out there wants to be PANTERA, I'll just put it that way. I'm not patting myself on the back when I say that; it's just fact. They're trying to get the riffs and they'll never have it. They'll never get it. It takes the four of us. Special. I mean, you can't just throw three of the original guys out of SLAYER and expect to sound like SLAYER, it's just not going to work. Just one of them things, man. You run across that once in a lifetime and you just fight for it, and that's what we did with the band. But it was all about the song. It was all about that melody, that "catch" that could suck people in."

He also photographed many other artists, including AC/DC, David Bowie, Gwen Stefani, VAN HALEN, and U2, just to name a handful, for many of the world's leading rock magazines. Today, his niche is in the gaming industry as the photographer for the World Poker Tour and head of the official photography team at the World Series Of Poker. He lives in Las Vegas, Nevada.

In June 2016, legendary guitarist Ritchie Blackmore made many long-held dreams come true for his fans as RITCHIE BLACKMORE'S RAINBOW played three concerts in Europe, two in Germany and one in England. Blackmore spoke to the Dutch radio station Radio Veronica about what made him decide to play the recent RAINBOW comeback shows. He said: "Besides money, I heard the [new RAINBOW] singer, Ronnie [Romero, who is originally from Chile but now settled in Madrid, Spain], singing on YouTube. Candy [Ritchie's wife, Candice Night] had played it to me. She said, 'What to do you think of this guy?' And I don't go on the computer very much; I'm too old for that stuff. And Candy is often going on YouTube or whatever, and she said, 'He's singing some of your old songs, the RAINBOW songs.' And I heard them, and I went, 'Wow! This guy is really good. He's exciting.' And there had been some talk about reforming RAINBOW with David Coverdale and a few others — Glenn Hughes… Although they are friends of mine, I wasn't urgently involved in it. I was hesitating for probably a good part of a year before I kind of decided I wasn't gonna do it — until I heard this singer. As soon as I heard the singer, he had such a good voice, so much vitality, and that excited me. I thought, 'Wow! He's singing all the old songs, but he's doing it so well — old hard rock.' It was exciting to hear."

Asked if he enjoyed the three RAINBOW comeback shows so far, Ritchie said: "I enjoyed especially the last one in England. The first two were a little bit intense, because we hadn't played together… we hadn't done a lot of rehearsing, so the first two shows were a bit hectic and chaotic. But the last one in Birmingham was… obviously, we'd played two shows at that point, and that seemed to work, to me. And it was great to see all the old people… I mean, it was so weird how… I think it was twenty thousand people… It sold out in fifteen minutes. And I kind of wondered who they thought was playing, 'cause when I got to the auditorium, it was so vast that I thought, 'Maybe somebody else is playing this show tonight.'"

Regarding whether it was difficult for him to put together a setlist for the first three RAINBOW comeback shows, Ritchie said: "No. [It was] very easy, in a way. We had about fifteen songs that were very obvious songs to play, like 'Catch The Rainbow'. And we incorporated a few DEEP PURPLE songs — 'Black Night', 'Smoke [On The Water]', 'Highway Star' — of which some of the fans said, 'Why did you do those DEEP PURPLE songs?' And I would say, 'Why not?' And they said, 'Well, we thought it was just gonna be RAINBOW. We would prefer to hear [more] RAINBOW songs.' Which I thought was kind of ironic again. I'm thinking, 'Wow! We just threw three songs in by DEEP PURPLE when they wanted more [RAINBOW].' And I noticed when they clapped, they weren't clapping so hard for DEEP PURPLE [songs]. They said, 'We hear that every year,' 'cause [the current lineup of] PURPLE goes around [on tour]. So the next time, if we go out and we do anything, I would do probably ninety-five percent RAINBOW songs; that's what they seem to want to hear. And it didn't occur to me. I just naturally assumed they wanted to hear everything."

Dario Mollo’s Crossbones will release their new album, Rock The Cradle, on December 2nd. The album’s lead track, “Red”, is available for streaming below.

Best known for his partnerships in the The Cage with Tony Martin (ex-Black Sabbath) and Voodoo Hill with Glenn Hughes (Black Country Communion, Deep Purple, California Breed), Italian guitarist Dario Mollo began his career in 1981 with the band Crossbones. With them, he released his first studio album in 1989, which was produced by Kit Woolven (Thin Lizzy Official, Magnum and UFO, among others) before getting involved in the production side of things himself.

For this new Crossbones album, the Italian axeman brought back original drummer, Ezio Secomandi with the lineup completed by his regular collaborator Dario Patti on bass and keyboards. The choice for the singer was Carl Sentance (Nazareth, Don Airey Band, Persian Risk, Krokus), who came at the suggestion of Don Airey of Deep Purple, during a recent visit to Dario’s home.

“I think this record has a strong identity and character,” says Dario. “It is a mature production and the songs range on many styles of hard rock and classic heavy metal, but every song has a catchy chorus. I also think this album shows how much I liked working with Carl. He is easily one of the best singers I have ever worked with. I am certain our cooperation will not end with this CD!”

Austin rock band Funeralizer will release its self-titled debut album on October 28th via Crayo KC. The group, a trio featuring drummer Trivett Wingo (ex-The Sword), guitarist David DiDonato (Ultimate Dragons) and bassist Clarke Wilson (Bangaar, Those Peabodys), play music that is at once, eclectic, electric and loud. “Rotting On The Vine” is streaming below.

“'Rotting On The Vine' is sort of our nod to Devo,” comments Wingo in a statement. “Obviously we borrowed a little bit of inspiration from 'My Sharona'."

Recorded by Bryan Richie (The Sword) at The Berry, Funeralizer delivers 12 terse tracks that swell with Sturm und Drang, discordance and dissonance. The album's arresting cover art was created by Joby Ford, guitarist for The Bronx / Mariachi El Bronx.

"The idea behind Funeralizer is that everything is super concentrated. No fluff," Wingo continues. "It seems like the best parts of most songs can be summed up in about a minute and a half. The goal is to keep things dense. Boredom is the enemy."  He adds, "I'm excited to get this record out 'cuz I feel like, for the most part, it doesn't sound like anything anyone else is doing."

Tim, Jason and Judd have made huge contributions to all of it, and together we've crafted a sound that, in my opinion, is unique. Especially in this day and age.

"We're not a thrash band, more like a heavy metal / hard rock band.

"There are no stylistic 'rules' or preconceptions. We never sat down and said, 'Let's write 'this kind' of song.' We wrote what came out.

"And since this isn't straight thrash, I know I'll get some haters, but I think a lot lot more folks will be pleasantly surprised by the variety and depth of the TRINITY FALLEN material. It's all about the songs.

"And don't misunderstand, some of it is brutally heavy but some is really melodic, and it pretty much all grooves and bounces — and is full of hooks. More like a modern-day version of old BLACK SABBATH or LED ZEPPELIN than any contemporary bands I can think of.

"To me, a lot of today's heavy music (at least on recording) is cut, pasted, quantized and sound replaced into sterility. TRINITY FALLEN isn't that. It's modern-day / old-school rock 'n' roll."

He added: "TRINITY FALLEN isn't TESTAMENT. It's its own thing. It's complex and varied and I can see elements of it turning some folks off at first, but with only hearing a short sample, it's kinda like the old story of five blind men went to 'see' an elephant .. (presents a misleading picture) but whatever… Not everyone's gonna get it at first. No way. The rabbit hole's way too deep."

Brazilian/American metallers SEPULTURA released a special EP titled "Under My Skin" last year. The EP's cover was created around images of different tattoos that the band's fans sent in.

SEPULTURA played a new song called "I Am The Enemy" during their July 2 appearance at the Rock Al Parque festival at Parque Simón Bolívar in Bogota, Colombia. The track will be featured on the band's new album, due in the coming months via Nuclear Blast. The follow-up to 2013's "The Mediator Between Head And Hands Must Be The Heart" was recorded at at Fascination Street Studios in Örebro, Sweden with Swedish producer Jens Bogren, who has previously worked with OPETH, KREATOR, PARADISE LOST, SOILWORK and AMON AMARTH, among others.

Regarding how SEPULTURA ended up working with Jens Bogren on the new CD, guitarist Anderas Kisser told SVT.se: "We did like a small research on different producers that we didn't work [with] before; we wanted to work with somebody new. And the Swedish music and scene and the bands like MESHUGGAH, OPETH and many others inspired us to come here and to work with him. He also worked with KREATOR, a band from Germany, and ANGRA, another band from Brazil, friends of ours, and I was really impressed with the way he worked [with] both bands."

According to SEPULTURA singer Derrick Green, the band's next record will see him and his bandmates continuing to take their sound in new, previously unexplored directions, something that has become somewhat of a SEPULTURA trademark.

"This album, it's exciting, because I think a lot of fans don't have any idea what to expect, but they know that a SEPULTURA album is always different from the last," Derrick said. "I think that makes us better musicians, and I think that's what our fans expect."

"Bring Me Home", the new video from Knoxville, Tennessee death metallers WHITECHAPEL, can be seen below. The song is taken from the band's sixth full-length album, "Mark Of The Blade", which was released on June 24 via Metal Blade Records.

WHITECHAPEL singer Phil Bozeman stated about the "Bring Me Home" clip: "This video means more to me than any video we've ever done. It portrays my struggle through dealing with my dad's death at the age of 10. The shots of me show me at my darkest moments. Suicidal thoughts, suicide note and feeling alone. The atmosphere of the room we shot this is nailed exactly how I was feeling at the time. Dark, depressed and suicidal. The shots of the man and young boy portray my bond I had with my dad and how devastated I was when he left. They are presented to be in a dream-like state of me remembering him. The last shot is from my dad and mom's actual gravesite. It's really awesome to have that authenticity to the video. The final scene is showing that I came out of it alive but no matter what, I will push forward and not give up."

Reunited with producer Mark Lewis (THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, CANNIBAL CORPSE), WHITECHAPEL has redefined who they are and what they are capable of with "Mark Of The Blade". Kicking off with "The Void" — which has a SLAYER-esque ferocity that is perfectly suited to the band's three-guitar attack — the songs that follow all leave a distinct impression, and by the time the rich, dark melodies on "Decennium" bring the record to a close, it's impossible to deny the emotional weight brought to bear. "It's the most dynamic record we've done, in the sense that one song can be very aggressive while the next one will be softer and sentimental," WHITECHAPEL guitarist Alex Wade asserts. "At this point in our career and as we grow older, we are taking a more open-minded approach to creating our music, allowing what we think sounds good to evolve naturally, rather than to just write what is expected of us."
