KATAKLYSM Premier “Marching Through Graveyards” Music Video

KATAKLYSM Premier “Marching Through Graveyards” Music Video

In an unprecedented event in extreme metal, Canadian powerhouse Kataklysm will release 10 music videos in the 10 days leading up to the release of their new album, Of Ghosts And Gods. Today, the band has released a video clip for the track “Marching Through Graveyards”. Mastermind Maurizio states: “Marching Through Graveyards” is about not accepting death as part of life, yet we are exposed to it every day. Fear is worse than death itself.”

A video clip for the track “The Black Sheep” can be seen below. Maurizio states: ““The Black Sheep” is a song we feel represents anyone who follows his/her own path despite facing critics and hate for being different then the norm. I'm sure many metalheads will relate, we surely do.”

A video clip for the track “Breaching The Asylum” can be seen below.“’Breaching The Asylum’ is a video depicting the different religions, cults and ideology that control most of our society,” comments Maurizio Iacono. “The song questions the need for humanity to belong to something greater than the physics of the universe and the dangers of its fanatics to silence free will.”

Kataklysm will release Of Ghosts And Gods on July 31st worldwide via Nuclear Blast. Guitarist J- F Dagenais tracked drums, guitars and bass for the album, while vocals were recorded by producer Mark Lewis (Whitechapel, DevilDriver, Cannibal Corpse). The entire process was mixed and mastered in the UK by legendary producer Andy Sneap (Megadeth, Testament, Exodus, Amon Amarth).

The new album artwork was done by up and coming dark and macabre artist Art by Surtsey. The new Kataklysm cover art echoes a sinister artwork depicting the reality of humanity’s beautifully disturbing existence and its impending death through the Mortal and the Everlasting, the background shows an ancient Incantation written in Aramaic.

The end result will be our fans head banging with their horns in the air and shouting the hymns - and that’s our satisfaction right there. We will be hitting the road this summer with a string of festivals in support of the album. This is a determined Kataklysm like you’ve never seen before. Be ready."

Kataklysm have announced dates for their Of Ghosts And Gods European tour 2016.

Video: SKID ROW Performs In Regina

Video: SKID ROW Performs In Regina

Donz Digital has uploaded video footage of SKID ROW's July 16 performance at Casino Regina in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. Check it out below.

The new SKID ROW lineup — featuring former TNT singer Tony Harnell — made its live debut on May 22 at Living Sky Casino in Swift Current, Saskatchewan, Canada.

Harnell officially joined SKID ROW in April as the replacement for Johnny Solinger, who was the band's frontman for the past fifteen years.

In a recent interview with Canadian rock journalist Mitch Lafon of the "One On One With Mitch Lafon" podcast, SKID ROW bassist Rachel Bolan stated about the band's split with Solinger: "It was evident [that it was time for us to go our separate ways]. There were certain things going on out on the road that kind of set us thinking… Things had been going on for a little bit."

He continued: "At certain times, you just get the feeling someone isn't putting a hundred percent into things. And SKID ROW is very important to the rest of us. And we wanted to carry on with quality performances and quality songs, so we decided to make a change."

Regarding how Tony Harnell came to be SKID ROW's new singer, Rachel said: "We've known Tony for years — literally, probably since the beginning of our career. And although I wasn't a big TNT fan, I was a Tony Harnell fan, as [were SKID ROW guitarists] Snake [Dave Sabo] and Scott [Scotti Hill]."

He continued: "When we made the decision to ourselves that we were gonna start looking, Tony's name came up. And I was, like, man, it's so funny, 'cause a couple of years ago, I was up in New Jersey for Christmas and I met with Tony in New York and I had dinner with him and another friend. And we just started talking. And he's, like… He goes… We'd known each for a long time, but at that point we hadn't spoken for a while. He's, like, 'I hear you guys are doing good things. How's it going?' I said, 'It's going pretty cool.' He goes, 'Man, you guys should have called me when you got a new singer [back in 1999].' And I guess that kind of popped up in the back of my head when we knew we were gonna make a change. And we immediately got in touch with Tony."

Asked if SKID ROW is working with Harnell on a "trial" basis or if Tony is "the guy" for the long haul, Rachel said: "He's the guy. I mean, that's where we're at in our heads. It's not a temporary thing. But, you know… [laughs] if get gets sick of us and leaves, then that'll be a different situation. But things are going really well now. And we're very excited. We're very excited about our future, very excited about getting on the road."

ACID REIGN Release “Plan Of The Damned” Lyric Video

ACID REIGN Release “Plan Of The Damned” Lyric Video

Rebooted UK thrash legends, Acid Reign, recently released “Plan Of The Damned”, their first single in 25 years, with artwork featuring the image ‘Delusion Dwellers’ by acclaimed artist Laurie Lipton. A new lyric video for the track can be found below.

Frontman H had this to say about “Plan Of The Damned” and the honour of having Laurie Lipton cover art:

"I have been a fan of Laurie's for years and I thought I'd fire off an email to her manager to see if there was any way she would even consider letting us use one of her pieces. Half an hour and three emails later from Laurie herself and she had given us permission! To say that we are happy with this would be a huge understatement; it captures the spirit of the song perfectly and is a stunning piece of art, as all of her works are. I know it sounds corny but for me this really is one of those "wow this is actually happening" moments. We couldn't be happier with the way “Plan Of The Damned” has turned out. We recorded it in Wales at Not In Pill Studios with the awesome team of Martyn "Ginge" Ford and Matt Bond (Slipknot, Trivium, Bullet For My Valentine, Axewound). The studio is under a boxing gym and the smell of sweat, aggression and metal is in the walls! We had a blast, it was a great experience."

Twenty four years is a long time in anyone’s book, but that is how long it’s been since the ‘Kings Of Apple Core’, Acid Reign, have been missing from the UK thrash scene.

More of a reboot than a reformation, sole original member Howard ‘H’ Smith comments: "I tried to put the old lineup back together the guys were unable to do it for differing reasons. Then, in the summer of 2014, I started toying with the idea of a new line up and it came together quite quickly. We’re taking it slowly, learning the old stuff and playing with new ideas too. It’s not a reformation it’s a reboot. Even if it was the old line up it would be different, it’s been 24 years! The main thing is that the goodwill toward Acid Reign has never been stronger, everywhere I go people are saying we should come back and eventually I actually fucking listened!”

A band considered ahead of their time by many, Acid Reign were one of the leading lights of the UK trash attack and spent time on the road with the likes of Exodus, Nuclear Assault, Dark Angel, Suicidal Tendencies, Death Angel, Flotsam & Jetsam and Candlemass. Signed to Music For Nations subsidiary Under One Flag, the band would release two albums (including the seminal The Fear), two EPs and a Worst Of compilation before calling time on the band in 1991, their final appearance being at the world famous Marquee club in London.

Acid Reign first started to show signs of life once again when, in 2011, Lost & Found Records released re-mastered versions of their albums and EPs. Re-mastered by legendary producer Bill Metoyer (Slayer, DRI, Flotsam & Jetsam), the reaction was so good that the band started to receive a stream of requests about when Acid Reign might take the stage again.

Despite the interest though, all remained quiet on the Acid Reign front until the Candlelight Records release of the extensive box set, The Apple Core Archives. A three CD only collection of every song they'd ever put out, with new sleeve notes, unseen pics, demos and housed in an Apple Core themed box.

Since this release H has been actively working on the all new Acid Reign reboot and looking forward to bringing the band back where they belong – on stage!

As ‘H’ himself states: “Finally the rebooted line up is complete, it’s taken nearly two years but I can honestly say it’s been worth the wait. Typically we’re doing things differently to everyone else as where they reformed (and believe me we tried) we are now rebooting. Everyone in the band has Acid Reign in their DNA, some of the guys knew the band back in the day and some didn’t but everyone is on the same page and we can’t wait to get out there and show the world how much it has been missing us.”

Acid Reign 2015 – The Reboot:

Howard ‘H’ Smith - Since Acid Reign called it a day in 1991 "H" hasn't let the grass grow under his feet. He's been based in London and performing as a stand up comedian since 1994 as himself and also as his alter ego "Keith Platt Professional Yorkshireman". Musically he has recorded a song "A Mothers Love" with Italian thrash band Satanika based on Acid Reign original "Motherly Love" feathered on their The Plague Of Thrash album in 2010. In 2014 he also recorded a guest spot on two songs on Suicide Watch's new min album Alienation Zone. There has also been many guest live appearances with Re-Animator and old mates Lawnmower Deth. In August 2014 Howard oversaw the release of The Apple Core Archives on Candlelight Records, a triple CD box set of the bands entire career. Howard also hosts the world’s only comedy metal podcast for website All About The Rock, “Talking Bollocks”.

Cooky - Came highly recommended to the band by ex-guitarist Kev who told ‘H’, “He’s a great guy, a good laugh and daft as a brush.”

Marc Jackson - Influenced by musicians such as Bill Ward, John Bonham, and Cozy Powell, Marc has been a drummer since the age of thirteen, playing across the world with a host of bands, including M:Pire Of Evil, Beyond the Grave, Sabbatica (Black Sabbath Tribute), Metalizer and Minnikin.

Pete Dee - Pete has worked on both sides of the glass as both a producer and a musician. He’s a member of the highly rated Kremated as well as hardcore outfit Bun Dem Out and has enjoyed stints in Rogue Male, Reactor and Viral Technology. A chance phone call in early 2015 led to him joining Acid Reign. “Some bloke calling himself “H” phoned me up in February 2015 and asked me to audition for Acid Reign which was very cool as Kremated were planning on doing a cover of “Goddess”, now I get to play it in the real thing!”

Paul Chanter - Paul did actually play with Acid Reign in 1990 on the Joke’s On Us Tour when he was dragged onstage by H from the audience at the Marquee to rip through "Motherly Love". Paul was the band’s first choice to replace Adam when he quit in 1990 although it’s taken until 2015 for Paul to actually get offered the role! As a member of acclaimed metal act Died Smiling, Paul toured with Stuck Mojo and appeared at the UK’s best metal festival, Bloodstock Open Air.

NILE: Lyric Video For New Song

NILE: Lyric Video For New Song 'Call To Destruction'

The official lyric video for the song "Call To Destruction" from the reigning kings of technical, historically-themed brutality NILE can be seen below. The track is taken from the band's new album, "What Should Not Be Unearthed", which will be released on August 28 via Nuclear Blast. Produced by NILE and mixed by Neil Kernon, the CD's artwork was handled this time by Michal "Xaay" Loranc and can be seen below. Pre-order your copy on iTunes and get "Call To Destruction" now instantly without having to pay extra for this track.

Says NILE mastermind Karl Sanders: "These are some of our heaviest-yet-memorable tracks ever.

"The violence contained in every aspect of 'Call To Destruction' is echoed through many varieties and creative permutations of heaviness and brutality throughout the entire 'What Should Not Be Unearthed' disc.

"The inspiration for the song itself comes from news reports in 2012 — when radical clerics were calling for the destruction of Egypt's pyramids. Most of the lyrics to 'Call To Destruction' are actual direct quotes from the words of Abd al-Latif al-Mahmoud — whose eloquence and quote-ability are clearly second to none.

"While this lyric video is filled with many images of violence and destruction of historical artifacts culled from common everyday newsreel imagery, its message is to communicate the insanity and futility of war as a tragic result of the clash of ideologies. This video's sole purpose is to bring attention to the wanton destruction of artifacts in the Middle East.

"None of the members of NILE in any way endorse any political or religious agenda with this video. NILE, as students of Egyptian history, are concerned about the preservation of the cultures of all peoples of our greater global community."

"What Should Not Be Unearthed" track listing:

01. Call To Destruction02. Negating The Abominable Coils Of Apep03. Liber Stellae Rubeae04. In The Name Of Amun05. What Should Not Be Unearthed06. Evil To Cast Out Evil07. Age Of Famine08. Ushabti Reanimator09. Rape Of The Black Earth10. To Walk Forth From Flames Unscathed Sanders previously stated about "What Should Not Be Unearthed": "It's our eighth official album, and this time we believe we have a truly crushing disc to bring to metal fans.

"The focus this time around is on brutally heavy metal riffing and songwriting; kind of like of an 'Annihilation Of The Wicked' approach but very streamlined to achieve maximum destructive impact."

He continued: "Our last record, 'At The Gates Of Sethu', was super surgically clean and very 'musicianship oriented' whereas the new disc is a polar opposite; 'Unearthed' is aimed straight at utter metal heaviness and memorable songwriting.

"Although 'Unearthed' is still full of the kind of undeniable musicianship people have come to expect from NILE over the years, it's the songs themselves that will hit listeners over the head this time around."

Sanders adds: "These songs will be a blast to play live, and we are stoked at the opportunity to bring these songs to metal fans everywhere. See you on tour!” States Xaay about the artwork: "At first, I would like to express that it was great experience to work on another NILE cover / artwork again. I'm really grateful having been a big fan of the band for all these years.

"The story behind the title goes deeply beneath everything we have already known, and we may not be ready to face. With the art I excavated the theories of an elder ancient civilization which could give the origin to ancient Egypt. That's why you can find a new ingredient in the band imagery, pointing at some higher obscure intelligence, eroding and covered with time. That trace of a dismal legacy is resembled in the outer structure which radiates from the block, sealing the unknown, and it's only an adumbration of what we will meet, once it is removed.

"The pyramid-shaped seal in the center doesn't contain a recipe for some Camel Stew or a Pharaoh's dining menu. An experienced eye will notice hieroglyphs taken from the 'Book Of The Dead', or the Seven Islands of Amentet glyph — depicting the ancient Underworld, and describing the elder reign of God-kings, which had ended circa. 9850 B.C. (perhaps some similarity with that of Atlantis?). But the main thing we should not miss here is a winged scarab sign in the exact center. We all know this most common Egyptian artifact giving protection... so the message is pretty clear... I hope it may become another fine element in band's repository for the NILE-themed tattoos.

"To sum it up: this album is definitely not a box of candies. Keep in mind that opening the package means you will deal with the deadliest essence... However, it will be a hard task to hold on to your curiosity. Well... it's a new NILE!"

FEAR FACTORY: New Song

FEAR FACTORY: New Song 'Dielectric' Available For Streaming

"Dielectric", a brand new song from Los Angeles cyber metallers FEAR FACTORY, can be streamed below. The track is taken from the band's new album "Genexus", which will be released on August 7 via Nuclear Blast Entertainment. The follow-up to 2012's "The Industrialist" was co-produced by longtime collaborator Rhys Fulber, along with guitarist Dino Cazares and vocalist Burton C. Bell and mixed by Andy Sneap (ARCH ENEMY, TESTAMENT, EXODUS, MACHINE HEAD). Artwork was once again handled by Anthony Clarkson. Drums on "Genexus" were performed by Mike Heller (MALIGNANCY).

FEAR FACTORY recently filmed a video for "Dielectric" with director Ramon Boutviseth, who has previously worked with TRIVIUM, NONPOINT, DARKEST HOUR, INCUBUS and ALL THAT REMAINS, among others.

"The word 'genexus' is a hybrid of two words: 'genesis' and 'nexus,'" explained Burton C. Bell. "This word describes the next transition in human evolution as man moves forward to a 'mechanical' state of being. Ray Kurzweil predicts that the singularity will occur around 2045. 'Genexus' is the term for that next evolutionary process. Where humans are machines, machines are human, and the differences are oblivious to the naked eye."

He continued: "This album is a record of thought patterns, psychology and struggles of the Genexus generation. The cognitive machine has arrived, and it wants autonomy from the industry that created it. This machine struggles, like every other human has throughout the course of history. This is the story of every one of us."

"Genexus" track listing:

01. Autonomous Combat System02. Anodized03. Dielectric04. Soul Hacker05. Protomech06. Genexus07. Church Of Execution08. Regenerate09. Battle For Utopia10. Expiration Date

Limited digipak bonus tracks:

11. Mandatory Sacrifice (Genexus Remix)12. Enhanced Reality

Cazares previously stated about he making of "Genexus": "We really feel this is a very special FEAR FACTORY album. While being careful not to replicate ourselves, this album still has a very classic FEAR FACTORY vibe that we feel will appease both old and new fans. The aggressive, melodic and industrial elements are all intact and shine more than ever.'

Speaking about what FEAR FACTORY was trying to accomplish with its forthcoming album, the band's first since signing with Nuclear Blast, Cazares said: "It's still just to be who we are. We are 'cyber metal,' whatever you wanna call it, but it's still a lot of the killer riffs, killer double bass, Burt's beautiful, melodic vocals. Conceptually, it's always still futuristic, man-versus-machine type of thing, but, you know, we thought we're gonna keep it real, keep it what we are and who we are."

FEAR FACTORY recently parted ways with bassist Matt DeVries (previously of CHIMAIRA, where he played guitar, and SIX FEET UNDER and replaced him with Tony Campos (ex-SOULFLY, STATIC-X, PRONG, MINISTRY).

FEAR FACTORY will hit the road later this month with COAL CHAMBER.

CROSSFAITH: New Song

CROSSFAITH: New Song 'Ghost In The Mirror' Available For Streaming

Japanese rockers CROSSFAITH will release their new studio album, "Xeno", on September 18 in North America via Razor & Tie.

The "Xeno" track "Ghost In The Mirror" — featuring a guest appearance by Caleb Shomo from BEARTOOTH — can be streamed below.

"Xeno" has a story of hope, failure, love, betrayal and death woven into its fabric so skillfully it's impossible to tell where truth ends and fiction begins. It's both an escape from and examination of reality that reveals more and more truths the further it delves. Produced by Josh Wilbur (AVENGED SEVENFOLD, LAMB OF GOD, HATEBREED) and mastered by Ted Jensen, "Xeno" takes the groundwork laid by 2013's "Apocalyze" and 2012's "Zion" EP as well as the band's vast touring history and catapults them into a whole new league.

"Xeno" is an artistic endeavour like few others, with roots in manga, anime and the furthest reaches of its creators' minds. Frontman Kenta "Ken" Koie, guitarist Kazuki Takemura, bassist Hiroki "Hiro" Ikegawa, keyboardist Terufumi "Teru" Tamano and drummer Tatsuya Amano are, quite simply, operating on a different level. Ken explains: "This record is dedicated to everyone because we believe it will make a new phase in this music culture. We had a bad time after we released the last album, 'Apocalyze'. Our original guitarist Kazuki had to leave during a tour due to a cerebral hemorrhage. It was the worst thing to happen to us in our entire music career. Fortunately or unfortunately, it just affected his left hand. He is still alive, he never gave up as a musician and he wrote a couple songs for this record as well. It has bound us together as one."

He continues: "The experience of working with Josh Wilbur means a lot to us. He brought us fresh feelings and has helped us to create our best record to date. We put everything we've got into 'Xeno' and it is the most important and precious thing to us. We can't wait to share the experience of 'Xeno'. It is beating, it is alive! We are dedicating this record to everyone!"

Xeno is a character, two to be exact. This is an intricate story of artificial intelligence meets human desperation. The two combine to see the human Xeno, so distraught with the state of the world that he endeavours to bring creation through devastation.

"Everyone has a dark side," says Ken. "Everybody is so hypocritical. And everything — our world – is being completely fucked up by so many people, especially the government. It's easy to see what they do. So Xeno, the person, decides to do something big so he can hit reset and start again."

CROSSFAITH is currently touring North America on the full Vans Warped Tour and will be announcing more tour dates soon. The band will tour the U.K. later this year as main support to SKINDRED.

Video Premiere: GUS G.

Video Premiere: GUS G.'s 'Brand New Revolution'

"Brand New Revolution", the video for the title track of the second solo album from Greek guitar virtuoso Gus G., well known in rock and metal circles for his work as Ozzy Osbourne's guitarist and as leader of his own band FIREWIND, can be seen below. The clip was directed by Patric Ullaeus of Revolver Film Company, who has previously worked with DIMMU BORGIR, LACUNA COIL, IN FLAMES, SONIC SYNDICATE and KAMELOT, among others.

"Brand New Revolution" was released in Europe on July 24 via Century Media. The CD was made available through Century Media in Australia and South America, Dismanic/eOne in North America and King Records in Japan. The cover artwork was once again created by Gustavo Sazes, who previously worked with Gus on the guitarist's debut album, "I Am The Fire", and also took care of artwork duties by such bands as ARCH ENEMY, KAMELOT and FIREWIND.

"Brand New Revolution" features guest vocal appearances by Jeff Scott Soto (YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, JOURNEY, TALISMAN), Elize Ryd (AMARANTHE), Jacob Bunton (ADLER, LYNAM) and Mats Levén (CANDLEMASS, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, TREAT).

"Brand New Revolution" was recorded with Jay Ruston (STONE SOUR, ANTHRAX, STEEL PANTHER) and mixed by Mike Fraser (METALLICA, AC/DC, VAN HALEN, AEROSMITH). Just as on "I Am The Fire", the core of Gus's recording group consisted of Jo Nunez (FIREWIND) on drums and Marty O'Brien (LITA FORD) on bass.

In a recent interview with Guitar World magazine, Gus said that "Brand New Revolution" came together "almost like two EPs in one, because it was done in two sessions. The first session was done in L.A. with a band in a live room, with Jay Ruston engineering, and we caught that live energy and atmosphere and vibe. The other half, I came back to Greece and we did it the more traditional way for me, where the drummer lays down the tracks first and then I do the bass and the guitars. So it's half and half."

According to Gus, "Brand New Revolution" is, first and foremost, a collection of songs; in fact, other than the opening number, a dazzling display of technical ferocity called "The Quest", there are no instrumentals on the record. "That's really what I was going for," Gus told Guitar World. "I'm actually getting a lot of pressure right now to put out an instrumental album, but I'm not the kind of guy who can write 10 or 12 of those. It'd probably take me 10 years to do a record like that. I like to write songs — I'm a band guy and I like to work with singers. I'm very old school. I just like three-minute, catchy songs. But they have to have cool guitar parts — that's the difference. If you know how to write a great song and you can put a killer solo to it, to me, that's it."

"Brand New Revolution" track listing:

* 2LP vinyl edition with a gatefold sleeve

* Box Set Limited Collector's edition includes CD/DVD deluxe edition, 2LP, tshirt (L size ONLY), poster, lithograph BLACKMORE'S NIGHT vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Candice Night says: "There's a theme to 'All Our Yesterdays'' chosen songs that focuses on the attitude of living in the present, and looking toward the future, because we are, indeed, enriched by our past. My main theme and inspiration has always been nature and folklore from around the world."

Candice Night and Ritchie Blackmore's lives and creative journeys have taken them through different characters and songs from a variety of times in history. That is part of the attitude in the song "Where Are We Going from Here", about a traveling minstrel's journey through life and age.

The title track (and also the first single and video), "All Our Yesterdays", echoes the sounds of Candice's Russian roots, while a new song written by Germany's George Hesse is an old-style, fiddle-driven instrumental with the Welsh title "Allan yn y Fan" (meaning "Out There"). Ritchie's heritage includes family from Wales.

The album also includes stunning instrumentals: the acoustic guitar piece "Queen's Lament" and the dramatic "The Darker Shade of Black" that spotlights violin and guitar.

Elsewhere on the recording, "Earth Wind and Sky" is a delicate ode to nature. "The Other Side", a latter-day folk dance joins two jigs that Candice sings: "Coming Home" and the supernatural-themed "Will o' the Wisp".

"All Our Yesterdays" gets further inspiration from Candice and Ritchie's home town, where they take part in community folk nights during which the neighbours share guitars and songs, and sing melodies that have come from a variety of times in their own history. That's how they fell in love with songs of various radio formats of years gone by. The album includes the Linda Ronstadt hit "Long Long Time" (penned by Gary White); the Mike Oldfield song "Moonlight Shadow"; and an inspiring Maypole Dance treatment of Sonny & Cher's "I Got You Babe".

BLACKMORE'S NIGHT is a true musical and spiritual collaboration between vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Candice Night and her husband, legendary guitarist Ritchie Blackmore. The two met in 1989 when DEEP PURPLE challenged Candice's then-radio station to a charity soccer match. In 1993 she sang on RAINBOW's "Difficult To Cure" tour. They co-wrote four songs for RAINBOW's "Stranger In Us All" and in 1997 they formed BLACKMORE'S NIGHT; they continue to play Faire Festivals all over the world.

BLACKMORE'S NIGHT is:

* Ritchie Blackmore - electric/acoustic guitars, mandola, hurdy gurdy, nickelharpe* Candice Night - vocals, chanter, cornamuse, shawms, rauschpfeife* Bard David of Larchmont - keyboards* Earl Grey of Chimay - Bass and rhythm guitar* Lady Lynn - harmony vocals, shawm, flute, recorder* Troubadour of Aberdeen - drums

AEROSMITH

AEROSMITH's JOE PERRY: 'We'd Like To Do Another Record, I Just Don't Know When'

In a brand new interview with HNGN.com, AEROSMITH guitarist Joe Perry was asked if there are any plans for the band to record a new studio album. He responded: "We'll see how the touring goes and just see how that plays out. The main thing is still getting out on the road and then we'll figure out if and when we're going to try to come up with a new record that's worth doing"

He continued: "Frankly, a lot of the hardcore fans want some new music, but I'd say the majority are looking forward to the next time we're playing live and playing some of the old standards, and some of the old standards can mean a song that came out 20 years ago, and to some people, those are new songs that they never heard before.

"At this point in our career, like Billy Joel said, 'I'm not going to make new records. Why should I spend the money, why should I bust my ass when all people want to hear is 'Uptown Girl'?' And he's got a point. There's always the chance that you can have a hit; you just never know. You could pour your heart into every track and the record will just lay there and then there's other times people hear a song and think it can be a No. 1. That's part of the excitement of doing a new record to me, but, at this point, I know we'd like to do another record, I just don't know when. There's too many places to play live and I'd frankly rather spend [the time] on the road, playing Dubai or Singapore than locking ourselves in a room for X amount of weeks or months putting out an album that may or may not have any impact, when you really look at it. The last record, I think about half of it was a real classic AEROSMITH record, but it just didn't make much of a dent. That's just how the business is, and maybe the songs weren't as good as I thought they were. Why bother when we've got 'Train Kept A Rollin'' and 'No More No More' and all the songs off the first three or four records right up to the songs in the '90s that people want to hear and never heard us play live? We'll just see."

Perry also talked about how the upcoming release of AEROSMITH singer Steven Tyler's solo album will affect the band. "I'm hoping he has some success with it because, whether it's an AEROSMITH song, a solo song or whatever, we'll play it live," he said. "In fact, I told him, 'Hey, look, do you want to put your new single in the set?' and he really didn't seem excited about it, but I think that, either way, it's still a side of AEROSMITH, whether he did it himself or with someone else. It's really kind of like a debate: is it really a solo thing? If he writes a song with three other people, between that and a song that he wrote with two or three people and it goes on an AEROSMITH record? But I think that being down in Nashville he's getting different influences and he loves all kinds of music, so it just seemed like a natural thing. We've all got friends that work down there and write down there so it didn't surprise me that that's where he went to get some different inspiration. So we'll see. It's kind of backed up; he was actually planning on finishing it before this tour, so I think we'd have more to choose from if we were going to play some of his stuff, because the band's played some of my stuff on stage during the tour, so it's, like I said, it's all positive. I don't see it taking away from anything; in fact, I think it adds."

AEROSMITH's latest effort, 2012's "Music From Another Dimension!", debuted at No. 5 on The Billboard 200 album chart, selling 63,000 copies in its first week of release. The group's previous collection of new songs, 2001's "Just Push Play", entered the chart at No. 2 with sales of 240,000 copies.

SLAYER

SLAYER's KERRY KING Says His Comments About GHOST Were 'Taken Out Of Context'

SLAYER's Kerry King says that his recent comments about Swedish occult rockers GHOST — who share management with SLAYER and have toured with King's band in the past — were "taken out of context."

In a recent interview with Artisan News, King stated about GHOST: "Dude, I love the imagery… I love it," King responded (see video below). "I just hate the fucking music. I like them [as people]. You know, they've been on many tours with us. I just… I can't [get into their music]. And I tried. I wanna like 'em, and I can't. I got their CD from Brian Slagel from Metal Blade. It was when Gary Holt [EXODUS guitarist] first started playing with us, and I picked up Gary. And I'm, like, 'Brian said this is awesome, man.' So we put it in, going to practice. It wasn't awesome. It wasn't awesome for me. It wasn't awesome for [Gary] either. I'm, like, 'Well, maybe the first song sucks.' [Laughs] And we went to the next one. It's just not for me. I know GHOST is hugely popular, and I'm very happy for their popularity. And, like I said, [they're] the nicest guys you'll ever meet. It's just not my music. And I've tried so hard. [Laughs]"

King now says that the way the metal media covered his original comments about GHOST was overblown. He tells DigBoston: "The problem with doing interviews is that whoever you're doing the interview with may or may not have bad intentions. They didn't see the part where I said they were wonderful dudes. I said I love the imagery. I tried to like their music, but it's just not my thing. Somehow that became 'Kerry King hates fucking GHOST.' Whatever I say is just taken out of context for the furthering of whatever crappy web site they write for."

GHOST's third album, "Meliora", will be released on August 21 via Loma Vista Recordings.

GHOST will embark on the "Black To The Future" North American headlining tour in the fall. The procession will begin at The Fillmore in Washington, D.C. on September 22.

Due on September 11, SLAYER's new CD, "Repentless", will mark the band's first effort without both co-founding guitarist Jeff Hanneman, who passed away in 2013, and original drummer Dave Lombardo, who was fired from the group earlier that same year.

DEF LEPPARD Didn

DEF LEPPARD Didn't Have To Answer To Any Record Company Executive While Making New Album

Amber Lee of WYDR The Drive 94.3 FM conducted an interview with DEF LEPPARD guitarist Phil Collen before the band's July 18 appearance at Rock USA festival in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. You can now watch the chat below.

Asked how DEF LEPPARD guitarist Vivian Campbell's battle with Hodgkin's lymphoma affected the making of the band's upcoming album, Collen said: "[Vivian] missed the second [writing and recording] session."

He continued: "This album's been great, 'cause we didn't do it the normal corporate, or DEF LEPPARD, way that's been pretty much the way that bands do things since the mid-'80s onwards. Back in the day, you know, whether it was THE [ROLLING] STONES or [David] Bowie or James Brown, Ottis Redding, whoever it was… THE BEATLES… They'd write a song, record it… Bob Dylan… And then, that would be it. But now, [in the past couple of decades], [the attitude towards making records has become], like, 'Well, we've gotta get an album,' you've gotta get your filler tracks and all that stuff, and that whole thing, so it became this lump of very uncreative… Or [it's become] harder to be in a creative mode. I think, back in the day, when you just let it out, it was artistic expression, and that's what it was supposed to be. So we actually went back to that more."

Collen added: "You know, we had three [writing and recording] sessions. We've never really done that before — it's always been [us setting aside] one block of time [to write the albums]. We started in January or February 2014, and [Vivian had] just had the news [of his cancer diagnosis] when we [had] done that first session. We thought we [were] doing a single, and then we came out with 12 songs. So we got the start of the whole thing. He missed the second [session] because he was having treatment, and then we went on tour with KISS, and then went back again, [and we'd] done the third session and pretty much finished it. We've been finishing it off on the road as well — just little bits.

"So, [Vivian's cancer diagnosis did] not really [affect the making of the album]. As when Rick Allen [DEF LEPPARD drummer] had his accident, we were able to, kind of, do other stuff while he wasn't there. There's always so much to be done on a DEF LEPPARD record."

Collen also talked about DEF LEPPARD's mindset going into the making of the band's new CD, which will be a self-titled affair. He said: "With DEF LEPPARD, when we had such huge success, we tried to go left field, we'd done this album called 'Slang', and everyone was, like, 'This sucks. You guys…' 'Cause we just wanted to try something different, and we [weren't] allowed to, which is kind of weird. So, with this new album, we actually did exactly what we wanted. We thought, you know, we don't care what anyone thinks. We haven't got a record company executive who's gonna teach us, or tell us, you know, to do this or whatever. So we'd just done it ourselves, on our own, and it was wonderful."

More Information Revealed About METALLICA Bassist ROBERT TRUJILLO

More Information Revealed About METALLICA Bassist ROBERT TRUJILLO's New Project With TORCHE, CONVERGE Members

METALLICA bassist Robert Trujillo has joined forces with drummer Rick Smith from underground metal act TORCHE, HARMONIC CROSS members Brent Eyestone and Graham Scala, and Nate Newton from CONVERGE and DOOMRIDERS in a new, yet-to-be-named musical venture. Eyestone told Noisey about the new band: "It's a project through the Tony Hawk Foundation. We're doing this record; it's just going to be a couple of tracks that we're going to put out digitally and on vinyl. All the money that comes in will be donated to the Tony Hawk Foundation."

He continued: "We all like to skate and we believe in that charity; making free skateparks for lower-income areas.

"There's no name and no release date, but once it's done, all proceeds will go to public skateparks.

"We're just rabid musicians who want to make new stuff and not put a cap on what it is. It could be an ambient record, it could be a weird, negative hardcore record, or just a band with people we didn't think we could get."

The music from the new project, which has been described as "on the heavier side of the spectrum," was recorded by Chris Owens, who has worked on albums by PELICAN, HELMS ALEE and THESE ARMS ARE SNAKES, among others.

Trujillo told Rolling Stone in a recent interview that METALLICA is "having a blast" working on songs for its tenth studio album, adding, "We are being productive and having fun." Asked if the new material is in the same vein as 2008's "Death Magnetic" album, Trujillo said: "I can't say that yet. I really can't relate it to any album; I think every METALLICA album is unique in its own way. What we're doing is special and unique in its own way, but still keeping it heavy."

Trujillo continued, "For me as a listener, part of the journey I'm on with METALLICA, there's just a certain edge that needs to be there… I can tell you that what we're doing sounds heavy, but again each album is its own little experience. So we'll just have to wait and see."

METALLICA is one of the headliners of this year's edition of Lollapalooza, along with Paul McCartney. The festival will take place at Grant Park in Chicago, on July 31, August 1 and August 2.

SIG:AR:TYR To Release Northen Album Via Hammerheart Records

SIG:AR:TYR To Release Northen Album Via Hammerheart Records

Canadian blackened heavy metal act, Sig:Ar:Tyr, will see their new album, Northen, released through their new deal with Hammerheart Records.

Sig:Ar:Tyr is the brainchild of Daemonskald and started in 2003 releasing The Stranger demo. Influenced by the Pagan/Viking worlds of ice and snow, and as a tribute to the ancient gods, Daemonskald built his strong reputation step by step.

Through the years Daemonskald and Hammerheart Records stayed in touch, and after releasing three fantastic full length albums (too good to be left buried in the deep underground) both parties agreed that the time to start working together was now.

Daemonskald on this co-operation: "I'm very excited to be working with Hammerheart Records. They have a strong history in Pagan and Viking Metal, and I hope with the long-awaited release of my new album I can follow in that tradition. They were one of the first labels to reach out to me when I first started out way back in 2003, and now the stars are right for us to be working together and the circle is complete."

Hammerheart Records will release the new album, Northen, in late-2015 or early-2016.

Daemonskald had the following to say about the album:

"The album deals with the end of the Viking age, and the adventures of the Norse in our own country, Canada. Unlike the permanent settlements in Greenland, their stay here was short-lived, and we are still discovering the extent of their travels, the artifacts from their small settlements, and unfolding the tales of their interaction with the native cultures here at the time. Northen is a tale of tribute to this small group of adventurers, who with a dynamic, and individualistic spirit, were still willing to throw stability and comfort aside to explore mysterious new places like Helluland, Markland, and Vinland, and try to be their own master in a changing world."

Northern tracklisting:

“Helluland”
“Crownless”
“Runarmal”
“Markland (The Hammer Fades)”
“Skraeling”
“Krossanes”
“Vinland”
“Northen”
“When The Last Ship Sails”

Also, these three classic CD releases will be re-worked and reissued:

- Sailing The Seas Of Fate (2005)
- Beyond The North Winds (2008)
- Godsaga (2010)

GHOST

GHOST's Nameless Ghoul Says Religion Remains 'A Big Problem' In Today's Society

LoudTV.net recently conducted an interview with one of the Nameless Ghouls from Swedish occult rockers GHOST. You can now watch the chat below. A couple of excerpts follow (transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET).

On how GHOST's new album, "Meliora", compares to 2013's "Infestissumam":

"Whereas the previous album, stylistically, was hovering in a baroque milieu, this new one is more of a futuristic, early-1900s, super-urban, modern world… but from a 1920s point of view. It's slightly more energetic. It's a little bit more to the point. I think that with the previous record, we warped our sometimes-retrospective sound, and I think we warped it a little bit too much to the retro, which didn't have too much to do with the recording; I think it was a mix and mastering thing, where it got a little bit lost. So, slightly wiser from that recording, we went into this recording, this album, with the knowledge that there were a few things that were better taken care of before than later. And one of them was, basically, to have a little bit more bite in terms of our guitar sounds and the drums to be slightly less retro."

On religion:

"Obviously, it is a big problem. It's a very contemporary problem. It's a very, very big danger. And, as much as we in the Western world feel like we are secularized and that is sort of an old-fashioned… Especially in Sweden, where we come from, it's so secularized, to the point where being religious is almost like being a little bit dumb. But still, there's also… There seems to be a disconnect between the modern man and her well being, because of that loss. That is not to say… We are not telling anybody to believe anything special, but there seems to be a disregard towards the idea that there are a lot of things that we might believe that we don't understand. People right now, and there has been a thing happening for the last hundred years… I mean, you remember the saying, 'All the inventions have been invented.' And even though most people laugh at that today, there is still a feeling of that we know everything, we have reached the zenith of our civilization, this is the best that we're… we're peaking. If there's anything that I would like to, or we would like to, tell the little person is to have a higher acceptance towards the things that you do not know. The only thing that we can agree upon, at the end of the day, if you're not talking to someone who's fucking mentally disturbed, is that we don't know. We can believe, and we can want to believe, but 'This is gonna happen,' or, 'This is not gonna happen.'… 'When you die, this is gonna happen,' or, 'This is gonna happen,' or, 'That is gonna happen.' We have no idea. There's no one that can answer that question, especially not a bunch of Romans in 325."

On the recording process for "Meliora":

"The main producer, the sound producer, was a guy called Klas Åhlund. He's a Swedish producer, and he's professionally more known as more of a songwriter-producer — the sort of producer that sits, writes a song, produces it, and then this really famous singer comes in and sings it, and then it's their song. He wanted, for once, to do more of a 'normal' production job where he works with a band rather than just one artist. So… that was interesting. I definitely think that we got a lot of ideas and a lot of new angles that we wouldn't have had, had we worked with a more established rock producer."

"Meliora" will be released on August 21 via Loma Vista Recordings.

GHOST's June 3 warm-up show at at Doom in Linköping served as the group's live debut with their "new" singer, Papa Emeritus III, the three-month-younger brother of GHOST's previous frontman, Papa Emeritus II.

DISTURBED: Official Lyric Video For

DISTURBED: Official Lyric Video For 'Immortalized' Title Track

The official lyric video for "Immortalized", the title track of the sixth studio album from Grammy Award-nominated, multiplatinum hard rock titans DISTURBED, can be seen below. The CD will be released August 21 through Reprise Records. Lead single "The Vengeful One" is out now, along with the accompanying animated video from award-winning filmmaker Phil Mucci, and "Immortalized" is available for pre-order everywhere. The upcoming release follows 2010's gold-certified "Asylum", DISTURBED's fourth consecutive #1 on the Billboard Top 200, and the group's subsequent break, which gave members David Draiman (vocals), Dan Donegan (guitar), Mike Wengren (drums) and John Moyer (bass) the necessary reprieve to make this imminent and deliberate return.

"The idea was to leave when we were at our peak, which we were, and to come back when we felt reinvigorated," said Draiman. "Everything was strategic. We wanted to give ourselves a chance to breathe, give the fans a chance to breathe, and give the culture a chance to evolve. Now is the time. The environment feels ready. The musical landscape feels ready. We're ready."

"We had basically been going nonstop since 1998," added Wengren. "We got to do our things. It didn't take too long until the itch started coming back."

"We wanted to return when we collectively had that fire underneath us," agreed Donegan. "We missed it so much that we could tap into this energy and deliver the right album. We did it on our own terms."

"The Vengeful One" has racked up more than three and a half million views in four weeks, and Donegan told The Pulse Of Radio they kept the creation of the new album a secret for the better part of a year. "It's been tough, because we haven't even told like some of our family and friends, so, I mean, for us to go away for almost four months, it was tricky," he said. "I mean, there was some family that I didn't even tell what I was doing. It was tricky to kind of keep that secret, 'cause I'm very bad at lying. I'm not a good liar at all, so to kind of withhold that information from our friends and family, it was tough."

Regarding the songwriting process for "Immortalized", Draiman told Billboard.com: "There's a lot of new and fresh in the mix. We had more input on each other's parts than we probably ever had previously. Everything was really put under the microscope and everybody had an opinion, and, believe me, everyone was voicing them loudly. You get all these very, very alpha type of mentalities all in one room together, all being very, very cocksure about what they want to do and how they want to do it. There were fireworks on an occasion or two, but I must say everyone was very, very decent and open and willing to try anything anyone suggested at any point in time. We were very, very cooperative with one another, very professional the entire time — not that we haven't always been, but especially this time."

DISTURBED has yet to announce tour plans behind the new record.

TEN To Release The Dragon And Saint George EP

TEN To Release The Dragon And Saint George EP

On the back of albums Abion and Isla De Muerta, released a mere six months apart like their debut and follow up back in 1996, UK melodic hard rock band Ten will release their first EP, The Dragon And Saint George, on September 4th.

Featuring exclusive artwork from Gaetano Di Falco, the EP boasts three previously unreleased tracks. These are no mere cast-offs, but potential bonefide classics, with “Muskateers: Soldiers Of The King” being right up their with the best historical Ten epics, while “The Prodigal Saviour” and “Is There Anyone With Sense” returns to the more melodic AOR of the debut. The EP also includes the European bonus track “We Can Be As One”, so for Japan and the Far East, there are four unreleased tracks.

The booklet also contains written note by Gary Hughes on every song on Isla De Muerta as well as the unreleased tracks found here, making for a totally indispensable package for all fans of melodic hard rock.

Video: ANTHRAX

Video: ANTHRAX's JOEY BELLADONNA Rocks ZZ TOP Classic With CHIEF BIG WAY

Video footage of ANTHRAX singer Joey Belladonna's classic-rock covers band called CHIEF BIG WAY performing renditions of songs by ZZ TOP and SOUL BROTHERS SIX on June 30 in Sherrill, New York can be seen below. The upstate New York-based group, which features Belladonna, on drums and vocals, is rounded out by Dave Mickelson on bass, Joe Precourt on guitar and John Goodwin on keyboards.

In a 2011 interview with Attention Deficit Delirium, Belladonna stated about CHIEF BIG WAY: "It's a three-piece, sometimes a four-piece with keyboards. We play TRIUMPH, DEEP PURPLE, RUSH, VAN HALEN, LED ZEPPELIN, THE WHO, PINK FLOYD, HENDRIX, CREAM, all classic stuff. We also do PRIEST, SABBATH and DIO. It's all older, straight-up-hits-type stuff. I'm on the drums with the [vocal] headset. There are no props and no gimmicks. I sing the whole night."

Asked if it's difficult to sing and play drums at the same time, Belladonna said: "It's not an easy thing. I never thought that I would sing and play 'Tom Sawyer' [RUSH] at the same time. Something that you think is easy to play is often not. 'Heartbreaker' by LED ZEPPELIN has so many different [drum] accents that have nothing to do with the song vocally. It's a good challenge."

Regarding whether singing different styles of music in his side projects is good for him, almost acting like "exercises" to keep his vocals in shape, Belladonna told Tricia Weight: "Yeah, it [is]. I mean, now I've got more projects than I've ever had. Even at home I sing to records, that's how I learned to do it anyhow, I used to pull out the coolest records and sing to 'em all day long, before I went out [on stage]. And I do it now, even [on the way] to the gig. If we've got an hour drive tonight — I'm rocking the stuff on the iPod all the way there!"

ANTHRAX's 2013 EP "Anthems" EP included the band's cover version of JOURNEY's "Keep On Runnin'" alongside classics by RUSH, THIN LIZZY, AC/DC, CHEAP TRICK and BOSTON.

Video: DUFF MCKAGAN Joins ALICE IN CHAINS On Stage In Spokane

Video: DUFF MCKAGAN Joins ALICE IN CHAINS On Stage In Spokane

Duff McKagan (GUNS N' ROSES, VELVET REVOLVER) joined ALICE IN CHAINS on stage on July 22 at the Knitting Factory in Spokane, Washington to perform two songs, "Nutshell" and "Man In The Box". Fan-filmed video footage of his appearance can be seen below.

According to The Pulse Of Radio, McKagan is likely to write the official biography for ALICE IN CHAINS. McKagan, the author of two books already, revealed in an interview with "Louder Than Hell" co-author Katherine Turman that he was in talks with the band about penning their story. McKagan explained where the project stands. "I talked to Sean [Kinney, ALICE IN CHAINS drummer]," he said. "We talked at length. Like, 'If you want me to do it, now's the time, 'cause I'm done with this book. I'll have this summer that I can start on it, you guys are working on music, you can put your record out, put the book out…' Like, make it a whole thing. I'm a proponent of that band, I think it's just a victorious story."

McKagan's new book, "How To Be A Man (And Other Illusions)", came out on May 12 via Da Capo Press. The bassist released a three-song EP, also called "How To Be A Man", in conjunction with the book's publication. The title track featured former GUNS guitarist Izzy Stradlin and ALICE IN CHAINS axeman Jerry Cantrell.

McKagan has also written for Seattle Weekly and played with ALICE IN CHAINS on their 2006 comeback tour.

ALICE IN CHAINS has been keeping a low profile lately but a new album is expected out sometime later this year.

AVENGED SEVENFOLD Parts Ways With Drummer ARIN ILEJAY

AVENGED SEVENFOLD Parts Ways With Drummer ARIN ILEJAY

AVENGED SEVENFOLD has released the following statement:

"We are writing this to inform you all that we will be moving forward without Arin Ilejay as our drummer. Arin has been nothing but a positive energy and monster drummer for us over the past four years. We love the guy and always will. We are and will always be grateful to him for helping us to move forward through some very dark times. Creatively though, we felt we needed to move in a different direction. While we can’t say more at this time, we are excited for the future and looking forward to sharing our plans soon with the greatest fans in the world. As always we appreciate your understanding and unwavering support."

Ilejay, a former member of CONFIDE, joined AVENGED SEVENFOLD in early 2011 as the replacement for James "The Rev" Sullivan, who died in December 2009.

Ilejay played on AVENGED SEVENFOLD's sixth studio album, "Hail To The King", which sold 159,000 copies in its first week of release, giving the California band their second straight chart-topper after 2010's "Nightmare".

Asked to describe how Ilejay rose to the challenge in making his studio debut with the group, AVENGED SEVENFOLD guitarist Synyster Gates told MusicRadar.com: "He really shined — [he] got the feel, the sound and the power. It was his first big record, but fortunately, he played a lot of shows with us before the recording, so that helped to clear the nerves away. And it wasn't a one-take kind of thing, so he was able to explore the songs, get inside them and make them sound right."

Ilejay's chops helped to steer the course of the music during writing and demoing sessions, as well. "Being that if was a riff-oriented record, we went in for a few days and made sure we had some things that were appealing to the ear," Gates told MusicRadar.com. "Then one of us would get behind the drums and jam it out. All of us can play drums a little bit, but we're certainly not on Arin's level, so he'd come in to show us what a real drummer can do and how the things would sound when played all-out. Hearing him made us either say, 'Hmm, that riff can be a little better,' or, 'Wow, that's amazing. We'll definitely base a song around that.'"

In an interview with MusicRadar.com, Arin stated about his playing approach on AVENGED SEVENFOLD's latest CD: "On 'Hail To The King', along with all of our fans, I thought I was going to be writing the craziest drum parts for that record, something to fill the shoes of The Rev. But the band wanted me to create my own sound and legacy. They wanted me to dumb it down and play caveman-like and spaced out, with big fills that support the music. I was bummed out about that at first, but it helped to have heard drummers like Lars. For the next album, we have kicked around the idea of having some crazy fills."

BLACK TEMPLE Launch Video Trailer For Upcoming Debut Album

BLACK TEMPLE Launch Video Trailer For Upcoming Debut Album

Century Media Records recently started a collaboration with Anders Fridén (In Flames) and his label, Razzia Notes Records. Black Temple from Helsingborg, Sweden, will be the first release Razzia Notes licensed to Century Media for all territories outside of Scandinavia and North America.

Black Temple’s album debut, It All Ends, is an intense story with impressive dynamics. With Magnus Lindberg (Cult Of Luna) in the producer's seat the band, that has been called the country's most violent live act, explores new territory in their musical landscapes: A primitive primordial drive fights it out with immediate melodies, performed with an ever present sense that each note can be the last. The end may be near, but It All Ends is just the beginning.

It All Ends will be released on August 28th via Century Media Records (World excl. North America, Scandinavia) and Razzia Notes (Scandinavia). The album will be available as Ltd. Edition Digipak, LP+CD (including bonus track “Skullfucker”) and as digital album. Check out a new video trailer below.

Tracklisting:

“Unlikely Event”
“Acid Rain”
“Great Things”
“Difficult Journey”
“Oncoming Fire”
“Lowpoints”
“Sleep With The Stars”
“100 Years”
“Sleepy River”

Trailer:

Anders Fridén comments: ”First time I heard Black Temple I freaked and I said to myself, I gotta work with these guys somehow. The whole expression of their music is a perfect introduction to Razzia notes and our new collaboration with Century media. Do yourself a favor and get a copy of It All Ends, it’s a monster of an album.”

Jonas, singer and bass player comments: "To become label mates with three of my favourite bands at the same time is a bit like a wet dream... I mean, c'mon - Dark Funeral, Marduk and Watain... And this is just the top layer, in my opinion, of what this behemoth of a label has released thru the years. Simply - such a great honour!"

HALESTORM Ties Record For Most No. 1 Mainstream Rock Songs By Female-Fronted Act

HALESTORM Ties Record For Most No. 1 Mainstream Rock Songs By Female-Fronted Act

According to Billboard.com, HALESTORM has tied THE PRETTY RECKLESS's record for the most No. 1 songs on by an act with a female vocalist on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Songs chart.

HALESTORM's "Amen" jumps 4-1 on the August 1 Mainstream Rock Songs chart, tying the mark established by THE PRETTY RECKLESS when "Follow Me Down" became its third No. 1 on the chart dated May 2.

Previous HALESTORM chart-toppers were "Apocalyptic" (March 28) and the 2013 single "Freak Like Me".

HALESTORM and THE PRETTY RECKLESS are the only two female-fronted bands to lead Mainstream Rock Songs since Alannah Myles's "Black Velvet" topped the chart in 1990, according to Billboard.com.

Asked by RollingStone.com about the supposed "rivalry" between HALESTORM singer Lzzy Hale and THE PRETTY RECKLESS's Taylor Momsen, Lzzy said: "Everyone always assumes that because we're two chicks that we somehow must be catty and hate each other, and it's never the case. Maybe everyone is just really horny and wants to see two chicks fight. In all honesty — and Taylor would probably agree, since you're usually the only girl on the bill — we've seen more guy bitch fights. [Laughs]"

"Amen" is taken from HALESTORM's third album, "Into The Wild Life", which was released on April 14. The CD follows up HALESTORM's Grammy-winning 2012 sophomore effort, "The Strange Case Of…"

COREY TAYLOR On SLIPKNOT

COREY TAYLOR On SLIPKNOT's Plan To Record Double Concept Album: 'It's An Interesting Idea'

SLIPKNOT singer Corey Taylor has confirmed that the band is considering writing and recording a double concept album to follow last year's ".5: The Gray Chapter".

".5: The Gray Chapter" was released in October 2014 following a six-year hiatus during which founding SLIPKNOT bassist Paul Gray died and original drummer Joey Jordison was dismissed. Since the CD's release, several of the SLIPKNOT band members, including guitarists Jim Root and Mick Thomson, have expressed hope that the group could record the follow-up effort sooner than expected, with Root claiming in recent interviews to have already begin compiling ideas for SLIPKNOT's next release.

SLIPKNOT percussionist Shawn "Clown" Crahan recently told BBC Radio 1's "Rock Show" that he would love to see the band record a double concept album in the vein of PINK FLOYD's "The Wall" and THE BEATLES' "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band", with a movie to go along with the project. He said: "I've been on Jim, and I'm just, like, 'Man, we've gotta write an art record. We've gotta write our 'Wall'… 'Sgt. Pepper's'… whatever you wanna say. And that's where I'm at. We've got so many records on our record deal. We've done five. I'd love it if we could do a double album, just… interludes… Have a concept, [and] maybe make a movie. I mean, things that have all been done, things that have all been done before, but… you know, our way, our interpretation. That would be a grand slam for the Clown. Don't get me wrong: we'd still do our thing. We're still gonna be SLIPKNOT."

During the question-and-answer portion of his solo concert at the House Of Blues in West Hollywood, California on Sunday, July 19, Taylor was asked if SLIPKNOT will keep going once the tour cycle for ".5: The Gray Chapter" has been completed. He said (see video below): "Oh, absolutely. You're fucking right we're gonna keep going."

He continued: "I will give you a little glipse of the future of SLIPKNOT right now. First of all, more than likely, we will continue to work with the two new people who we made '.5: The Gray Chapter' with, who, I'm sure you've read, is Jay [Weinberg, drums] and Alex [Alessandro 'Vman' Venturella, bass]. We're going to tour until June next year. We're gonna go around the world again and then we are definitely gonna come back to the States and try to hit some of the other places that we didn't get to hit. That will more than likely wrap up the tour cycle. I will then go and do STONE SOUR. Clown has got a couple of movies that he wants to direct. And let me tell you something: they just put together an initial cut of his first movie, 'Officer Downe', and I guess it is blowing people away, so I'm so fucking proud of him. Everybody else is gonna kind of do their thing in SLIPKNOT, I'm gonna do STONE SOUR, and then we will reconvene, and I know, a couple of the guys, we've been talking about a double concept album, which I don't know if we could... But it's an interesting idea. So they told me to start thinking of an idea for a story. So we'll see what happens."

As previously reported, Taylor said in a recent interview with RockSverige.se that SLIPKNOT will take a "couple of years off" after completing the tour cycle for ".5: The Gray Chapter". Taylor explained, "We're gonna finish touring and then we're gonna take a couple of years off again to let everything chill. I'm gonna go do my thing, [and] everybody else's gonna go do their thing... then, in a couple of years, we'll get back together and see what happens again."

Taylor's "thing" is STONE SOUR, which has two more covers EPs in the works following this spring's "Meanwhile In Burbank… Taylor told The Pulse Of Radio that he's written "about eight songs" for the follow-up to the band's 2012 double concept album, "House Of Gold And Bones". He said: "I've got a bunch of new songs, bunch of new music written. Everybody in the band has stuff. So we're gonna start kind of putting that together early next year, kind of just trying to get demos together to see where we're at. And then maybe in the fall go in and start making a new album."

Following the "Meanwhile In Burbank…" EP, STONE SOUR plans to release two more EPs of cover songs in the near future, with the first one titled "Straight Out Of Burbank" and the second called "No Sleep 'Till Burbank".

STONE SOUR's last collection of original music, "House Of Gold And Bones", was a double concept album released in two parts in 2012 and 2013.

SLIPKNOT's "Summer's Last Stand" tour kicks off on July 24 in West Palm Beach, Florida, wrapping up six weeks later on September 5 in Dallas.

LE PROJET Featuring Members Of SEVENDUST, CANDLEBOX, THE INFINITE STAIRCASE Release “Wait For It” Single

LE PROJET Featuring Members Of SEVENDUST, CANDLEBOX, THE INFINITE STAIRCASE Release “Wait For It” Single

Le Projet, the rock band comprising Kevin Martin, Adam Kury and Brian Quinn of Candlebox, Morgan Rose of Sevendust, and Lenny Cerzosie of The Infinite Staircase, has announced the release of their fifth single, “Wait For It”.

Available at all major online retailers starting today, “Wait For It” was recorded at Think Loud Studios in York, PA. The single marks the latest release by Le Projet and is just one of the tracks that will be on the band’s album.

"My favorite thing about “Wait For It” is how experimental the process was. Nobody was worried about who got to play what or who's ideas made the final cut. It was genuinely a group experience. Our goal was just to have fun writing authentic, original music,” said Lenny Cerzosie. “This song has a completely different feel from our other singles, while still maintaining the Le Projet vibe. From the out set, we all agreed that we weren't going to take ourselves too seriously but we were going to write serious music. I think that's evident in “Wait For It”.”

To date, Le Projet has released four singles: “Head Down”, “Little Sh*ts”, “Save Yourself”, and “Refugee” that are also available at all major online retailers.
