STEVE VAI Meets KING CRIMSON Guitar Legend ROBERT FRIPP - "I Found Myself In A Rare State Of Gob-Smacked Speechlessness"
Vai has shared the following message alonhg with the photo above:
"Here with Father Robert Fripp at McCabe's Guitar Shop 3.3.24 where he gave an enlightening talk with David Singleton to a packed house of enthusiastic ears, mine being a pair of them. I was fortunate he was in town and accepted to meet with me. I respect and admire this man tremendously. Since 1969, his brilliant musical mind reinvented a music genre twice. His fiercely disciplined and unique guitar technique is untouchable to all but him and he is a marvel.
We had a lovely chat about BEAT and I was relieved and thrilled to know he gave it his blessing, and even suggested the name. When I asked him what he had thought when he heard I was in the band, he replied 'You are the only one that can play my guitar parts.' I found myself in a rare state of gob-smacked speechlessness because I know that nobody can play Robert's guitar parts like him."

The vision for this undertaking emanated from initial dialogue between Angelo Bundini aka Scrote and Adrian Belew. Tour Producer Bundini recalls, “When Adrian called me to help bring his idea to fruition, I immediately thought it best to focus on the 80s albums: Discipline, Beat, and Three Of A Perfect Pair. These three records famously marked Adrian and Tony's entry into King Crimson. Their fluid, melodic virtuosity, and Fripp's and Bruford's dramatic precision created a totally unique, dynamic push and pull that would influence nearly every rock musician and/or band going forward for years, if not decades, to come.”

Я бы посоветовал с конца слушать. Power to Believe вообще охуенный индустриальный проговый зубастый квази-метал. И ранние альбомы тоже с конца слушай, с Red. Red вообще один из тех альбомов, который я некоторым друзьям на виниле дарю, не знакомых с группой вообще, совершенство, а не альбом.
Так то лютая годнота.
(Ну и да, я хз, кул джаз классический настолько спокойный, что я хз чего еще хотеть. Причем тут белые хз, белый джаз практически не слушал, мне интереснее классика, нежели искать что-то "свое", не настолько задрот джазухи)
Тупые в Африке знают, что Фрипп - 50/50 тролль и дипломат. Вай там ни к месту вообще, совершенно не соотвествует духу и идее KC.
А Вай там и правда - ни к селу, ни к городу.
