HEAVENWARD from Duisburg/Krefeld in Germany is another band from the late 80s/early 90s, whose material we are going to rerelease. Fans of old HELLOWEEN, CHROMING ROSE, early BLIND GUARDIAN and HEAVENS GATE will certainly like this band, which plays melodic power-metal combined with razor-sharp speed.
The CD contains the long sold-out “Within These Dreams”-debut-album from 1991, which was released on Rough Trade. You will get eight tracks full of typical German power-metal, served with fast and catchy riffs, a driving double-bass and the first-class singer Stefan Kessel, who sings both high-pitched and melodic-clean vocals. Real gourmet food for Euro-power-metal-fans. In between all the speedy songs there are also slower moments, like the powerful half-ballad “Raging Waters”.
As an additional delicacy we have added four songs of the second demo “At First Nature” (1989), which shows you an even more speedy band and reminds you of old LUCIFERS HERITAGE-demos and very early HELLOWEEN.
Especially the vocals, oscillating between melodic-aggressive vocals and high-pitched screams, remind you of the young Hansi Kürsch, not least because of the heavy German accent.
This rerelease is completely remastered and features one brand-new track called “System is Going Down”, which shows the thrashy side of HEAVENWARD.
