No further details are currently available, but some of Wayne's associates have indicated that his passing may have been the result of a drug overdose.

Micah Electric, drummer of Hollywood-based industrial rockers 9ELECTRIC, has posted the following message on Facebook:
"My friend Wayne Static has passed away.
"So glad to have known him, recorded with him, toured with him, partied with him and had MANY real conversations with him. He was a good soul who chose the wrong path.
"He will be missed."
STATIC-X released six studio albums between 1999 and 2009 before disbanding. Static then launched a solo career and released his debut solo album, "Pighammer", in 2011.
Wayne was scheduled to take his solo band back on the road for a co-headlining tour with POWERMAN 5000 starting on November 6 in Waterloo, Iowa.
Wayne married former porn star Tera Wray in January 2008.

Никто кроме статиков не умел так создать эту прямолинейную серую пустоту, которая всегда была в их музыке. Именно эта мистическая и труднообъяснимая составляющая была для меня главной частью определения, что такое Static-X. Они для меня всегда относились к какой-то особо "высокой" категории, в которой обитают те, у кого сквозь саму музыку проступает что-то другое, запредельное, с той стороны...
Жаль что так получилось, хоть я уже ничего путного от него и его группы и не ждал.

Никогда не был их фанатом (кроме Only), но группа и Уэйн запоминающаяся. Выглядел он конечно молодо.

"Голливуд, Калифорния (1 ноября 2014) - Это очень печальный день в музыкальной индустрии - фронтмен и основатель Static-X Уэйн Статик скончался во сне у себя дома этой ночью.
Пара (Статик и его жена Тера Рей) собиралась поехать в осенне-зимний тур этим утром. Они должны были отправиться еще предыдущей ночью, но решили перенести поездку на утро 1-го ноября.
Пара, известная постоянными тусовками, бросила употреблять тяжелые наркотики в 2009 году и не прикасалась к ним с тех пор. Первый сольный альбом Статика "Pighammer" был посвящен новой жизни без наркотиков. Он надеялся, что это поможет другим бросить тяжелые наркотики.
