This will be your second time in Moscow. What impressions do you have from your first visit here? Did you like the city? Moscow public? What do you expect from your second visit to Moscow?

I expect it to be a little warme, because it will be in June! The last time it was so fucking cold that nobody really wanted to visit the city...so we only saw the red square... hopefully we see more from the beautiful city of moscow this time! The show was great, really crazy and positiv fans in the crowed, we met very nice russian people, I’m really excited to ome back to russia and to rock the city!

You latest studio album (with new material) “Monster” is much more aggressive than your previous works. Why did yo

u choose this direction?

We always try to explore new dimensions and to do something new, just to keep it fresh for us and our fans. The style of the music is always a reflection of how we feel in that certain kind of period of time while we are producing the songs.

Whose idea was it to make a video clip after the theme Alice in Wonderland? Do you like this fairy tale?

Yes, it was a good inspiration because Alice is also in a Labyrinth...

Who was responsible for choosing the cover artwork for this album? Why did you choose this one?

It was us all together...the little boy is a good contrast to the title Monster...allthough he seems to be the monst

er...or not?

Is it possible that OOMPH! Will perform in other cities in Russia?

No, i have no information yet...but we would love to...invite us!

Do you consider “True or Dare“ a usual album or just a remake?

It is of course only a best of Album, but special, because it is transfered from german in english...that makes it special.

Who came up with an idea to rewrite songs in English? What was the purpose?

We know that we have a lot of fans because of our lyrics and we want to make it possible for all people to get into our OOMPH! cosmos and our lyrics! So we had to record our best songs in the language of the world!

What language in your opinion transmits the message of your music better – German or English?

German - for sure! We think and dream in german, so that comes more directly from the heart than english.

Who was responsible for the translations of the songs into English? It is one think only to translate from German into
English, and quite another thing to keep the energy and rhythmical aspect of the song, to retain the atmosphere.

Yes, that’s why we worked together with an american songwriter, Jeff Collier.

You are considered fathers of NDH (Neue Deutche Haerte).Rammstein consider you their main inspirers. What is your opinion abo

ut this? Do you agree?

We don’t consider our music to be NDH but is always nice to hear and flattering that you inspire other artists in their work.

Do you have an idea to start EBM side project as it was at the time of the first album?

No, we always do all music we want to do with OOMPH! so here is no need for a side project. EBM influences are really inspiring for us in the moment...you got to hear the next album!

During your last concert in Moscow Dero sang a cover on famous “Strangers in the Night” and our Russian song “Kalinka” . Shall we hear something like this at this concert in Moscow?

I think you can expect something like that....

Your latest video clips are very bloody, so to speak. What is the reason for it?

It is a reflection of the world that we live in... unfortunately...

You recorded this English version of your songs and many people disapprove of your singing in English. Don’t you feel offended because of this attitude?

No, people are free to think what they want to think….

There is such an opinion that sexuality of the musician and his personal freedom (the absence of family and children and a wife) is at least 40 % of his success. Because 40 % of the fans are females who strive for having a night with a star. Can you agree with this opinion?

Yes, but concerning our fans it is 100%, of course! 

In the clip “Ready or not (I’m coming)” you have children. How difficult was it to work with children and to make them play all the emotions you needed for the right impression?

They all have been actors..so it was kind of easier than we thought...it is fun to work with children and very exciting...you never know what will happen...

Flux said that your every album corresponds to the times when it was written. And what will be the new album like? And what do you see the future like?

The next album will be hard, EBM influences, Rock guitars, sarcastic and ironic lyrics...and great! Of course!

Flux said that your new albums don’t need instrumental compositions, which were present in your old albums in order to give the listener the opportunity to have a rest. Can we expect to hear some instrumental songs on the new record?

I don’t know yet...maybe...?

It’s a well known fact that Flux pays a lot of attention to sport and especially to running. And even takes part in different marathons. And what about other band members and their attitude to sport?

Dero is playing football in his local team and Crap is also runnig and doing some fitness..and Flux is still running marathon...

In Germany you have a contract with Sony Records Columbia, and S

ony Records USA refused to release your English album. Why? And how do you like you collaboration with The End Records?

Ask Sony USA for that...they must be stupid...The End Records are doing a great job so far, we are luckky to work together with them!

If compared with your colleagues Rammstein you never make fire hows or some pyrotechnical shows. Why don’t you want to try this? It is very spectacular and suits your music perfectly! Another ground for experiments.

Rammstein do it perfect, so why copy that???

What do you think about modern industrial scene? Do you have any predictions about its development?

Sometimes I feel a little bored, because

most of the bands are not mordern but seem to be still stuck in the early 90s...

You promised to include a new acoustic song into Moscow set list? When was it written and why didn’t this song get into your albums? And why did you decide to make this kind of début in Moscow?

It is not a debut, we play this acoustic set in this season…it will be 2 Songs: Auf Kurs and Sex hat keine Macht in a special acoustic reduced version…you will love it!

With your English “Truth or Dare” album you bombarded Greek charts and got into the best 50 artists in their Albumcharts. Do you plan to visit new countries?

Our succsess in Greek really made us happy, becuase we never played

there before and it was our first record that we released in Greek. We plan to play in every country where we’ve released the english record...

You collaborated with Sharon den Adel from Within Temptation at the song “land ahead” and said that you never repeat your collaborations with one and the same artist. So shall we expect some new cooperation at the new album?

There is no plan for that so far...this happens always very spontainious...

I know that Dero adores Tai food. And did you manage to taste Russian traditional food when you were in Russia last time? Did you remember anything especially?

No, unfortunately not…the local promoter only invited us two times t

o a very tasty Argentinien Restaurant…maybe this time…

And what are the reasons for you being a vegetarian? If it is not a secret, of course.

I don’t want to kill or harm any animal.

Your lyrics very often describe love as a suffering. Is it somehow connected with your personal experience?

They are always about Dero’s thoughts, mind, fears, the world he lives in and his behaviour and psyche.

How do you manage to keep fit and look so young? One can never guess about your real age!
