1. The album's title implies a connection with the widely discussed and the expected end of the world, but
the title "El Ultimo Minuto" seems to have a deeper meaning, is it so?

This album was mainly inspired by the misconception of the mayan calendar, but it definitely has a wider concept than that, it makes reference to the last minute before your world goes down in an emotional way and it also makes reference to the idea you have to live every moment to the fullest as if it was the last one, you never k

now when the last minute in this life will come.

How long you have you been writing material for "El Ultimo Minuto"?

About 6 months.

Did you have any finished ideas when you started working on the album?

We had a couple of basic ideas, but at they didn’t make it to the album. We started from scratch, we just had a raw idea of how we wanted the album to sound, we wanted to get a hard album without compromises and I think we managed to do it.

New album is more dynamic, than the previous records of the band, there are more hits. At the same time, it is more straightforward, you may even say old-school. Did you plan it to be like this?

No, it came naturally. We felt the need to go back to our origins, this album is a blend of different stages of the band, it is aggressive, violent, energetic and sarcastic, we are very proud of it. It is an album 100% for the Hocicones.

How thoroughly did you select the material for this cd?

We just left the “

ballads” out this time.

Do you have any material, left behind this album?

Yes, eventually they will see the light of day.

Why there is no more spanish lyrics, which, in my opinion, suits very much for Hocico?

We don’t write much in Spanish because we want to expand the concept, we still have plans to release an album all sung in Spanish, but we don’t feel like doing it in this moment.

Who did the album cover and what does it symbolize? Pyr

amid, the eye ... and these symbols?

The cover was made by User@dx, the cover symbolizes a part of our Mexican roots with a view to the future. It is ourselves looking into the future, it opens a door to new dimensions.

For many years Hocico has remained committed to one, if I may say so, direction in the Dark Electro, without making any drastic moves aside - is it conservatism or is it the commitment to your course or is it maybe the tribute to the tradition of the style?

Everytime we set to write a ne

w album we want to try new things and recreate ourselves, but there’s a mysterious thing that let things work in more or less the same way, the Hocico way, what I mean is when we work together we can only be Hocico.
Unconsciously we created a music style, but we have never really taken care for it, all songs have to do more with the feelings we express, maybe the other side of ourselves. For us simply when it comes to make music together it is all about energy, aggression and a dark touch.

Let me ask about your side projects - R

abia Sorda and Dulce LIquido. At the end of last
year Rabia Sordas single "EYE M THE BLACKSHEEP" has been released - does this mean that soon we can expect new album from this project?

Yes, all songs of the new album are already recorded and are on post-production process. The album is going to be called “Anatomia Frenetica” and is scheduled for release on summer 2013.

On the single you can feel, that the music has more guitars, more metal than electronics - is it a new sound of Rabia Sorda?

Th

e new album is definitely touching new territories. Musically speaking it will expand the sound scenery of the band because there’s a lot of new music elements that create a very explosive mix, much more music instruments get into play and It is full of good, fiery and explosive songs.

What happened to the project Dulce Liquido? It's been a while, since we've heard from this one.

Not much, as always Racso is working on new tracks but he doesn’t feel the need to share them with the public. He hasn’t set himself to complete

an album, but DL exists. He is thinking of releasing a 20th anniversary compilation with old tracks.

If the music expresses musicians personality - can we say, that what we hear in your music is what's on your mind?

It is only a part of it, it is only a small picture of our personality, there is more faces and more colors in our life, but when use the Hocico face we only paint using one color, the color of the fury. While creating there’s always a part of the work that is hidden to the artist, so we discover and learn a

lot of ourselves while making music too.

As I may remember from our communication with you (this is not the first interview with our zine) you don't make impression of aggressive people - but on stage you change! Which one of you is real?

The two of them, both personalities are real. Both live in us.

You always have a very dynamic concerts, full of explosive energy, Where do you find energy for such a long set?

The energy comes from long sex sessions, from evil the e

vil side and from eating tons of veggies…

Do you separate work and music? I could guess, that not all the surrounding people can understand
your outlook? Do you have problem with this? Maybe you've been criticized like, saying, "Stop doing this bullshit"? :)

We had problems when we were teenagers, people looking for trouble just because of the way we look. Now we are free people so don’t give a flying fuck for critics, we just don’t hear them.

You've been living in Europe for a while, do you miss your homeland?

More than the country in itself I miss my family and friends. Mexico, for good and for bad, lives in my heart and soul.

It's not the first visit of yours to Russia, with what expectations, or maybe foretaste, do you go here?

We expect nothing but a big shot of adrenaline from the crazy Russians. We love playing shows in Russia.

Would you play typical program for this tour or can we expect any surprises in the setlist?

It will mainly be the new show for the new album, but we have a couple of surprise tracks on the show for the Russian fellows.

In conclusion, I would like to wish you every success in your music and now you have the opportunity to address the Russian fans, who with no doubt are waiting for these shows! (a few words for the fans)
