Sweden's LIZETTE & Releases 'Too Young' Video

"Too Young", the new video from LIZETTE &, the Stockholm, Sweden-based alternative/hard rock band led by Lizette von Panajott, can be seen below. The track comes off the group's third album, "Artificial Me", which was released in March via via Freeside Records / Border Music.

"Too Young" was written and produced by Lizette von Panajott, who points out in the song that "far too many young people get into crap way too early in life and can't carry their yoke," according to a press release.

"I wish you could tell all these kids that everything will work out," says Lizette. "With 'Too Young' we at least get it out there that it is fucked up when too early young people get into situations they should not be in."

LIZETTE &'s previous albums, "Just Smile" and "This Is", came out in 2012 and 2003, respectively.

The first single from "Artificial Me", "Golden Shower", was received airplay on several rock radio stations across Sweden.

LIZETTE & was nominated at Aftonbladet's annual Rockbjörn awards two consecutive years in the categories of "Breakthrough Of The Year," "Live Group Of The Year" and "Rock / Metal Of The Year."

LIZETTE & recently released its own brand of wine — "Vampiric by Lizette &" — and is working on a clothing line of the same name, "Vampiric."

TNT Featuring TONY HARNELL: Fan-Filmed Footage Of Helsinki Concert

TNT Featuring TONY HARNELL: Fan-Filmed Footage Of Helsinki Concert

Fan-filmed video footage of TNT's July 17 performance at On The Rocks in Helsinki, Finland can be seen below.

TNT played its first official reunion show with singer Tony Harnell on January 17 at Gregers Live in Hamar, Norway.

Harnell confirmed his reunion with TNT in October 2013, explaining in a statement: "After much discussion and lots of soul searching, I'm happy to officially announce that I'll be back behind the microphone with TNT.

"I'm very proud of all we accomplished over the years and proud to have written and recorded all those great songs with my brother from another mother, Ronni Le Tekrø.

"Sometimes it's just time to give the fans what they're asking for.

"2014 is the 25th anniversary of the successful 'Intuition' album and we thought it would be a good time to get out and relaunch this little machine for you guys!"

In August 2013, TNT parted ways with its frontman of the seven years, British vocalist Tony Mills (ex-SHY). He explained in a statement: "Maybe we did 500 shows or something like that, but not many out of Norway.

"It has been the most prolific live period in my career, and when I felt the stagnancy and the lack of desire to grow and develop any further, I knew my time was done with the band.

"I don't think it's sensible to expect new art from the band after thirty years, just a lot of re-living the past and reconstructions of old albums and performances.

"None of us are getting any younger, but I have a great desire to not stop creativity in my life. I hate wasting days and singing songs from the past to satisfy old fans.

"Nostalgia wasn't doing it for me.

"We were never close as friends or anything like that, so there is no great loss, and I have no doubt they will reform the original lineup and just do the whole thing all over again. I wish them good luck on that. I have other releases to come that excite me much more than that."

Harnell rejoined TNT on stage for their 30th-anniversary concert on June 2, 2012 at the Clarion Hotel in Trondheim, Norway. The group performed a special setlist while accompanied by the Trondheim Symphony Orchestra (Trondheim Symfoniorkester). Also making a special appearance with the band was TNT's original singer, Dag Ingebrigtsen.

After leaving TNT in 2006, Harnell was replaced by Mills, who has since appeared on three studio albums from the band: 2007's "The New Territory", 2008's"Atlantis" and 2010's "A Farewell To Arms".

Harnell's last release as a member of TNT was the "Live in Madrid" DVD, which came out in September 2006 via MTM Music. The set, which was filmed on April 1, 2006 in Madrid, Spain, was accompanied by an 82-minute audio CD plus booklet liner notes from Harnell about his work with the group as well as an additional tour documentary by Darren Paltrowitz.

ARTILLERY: Fan-Filmed Footage Of Sheffield Concert

ARTILLERY: Fan-Filmed Footage Of Sheffield Concert

Fan-filmed video footage of ARTILLERY's July 18 performance at 02 Academy in Sheffield, England can be seen below.

The Denmark thrash metal veterans will return to North America this fall for their first-ever North American tour. ARTILLERY will join ONSLAUGHT and STRIKER beginning on October 23 at Saint Vitus in Brooklyn, New York. The trek will weave its way throughout North America before coming to a close at the Whisky A Go Go in Hollywood, California on November 26.

ARTILLERY guitarist Michael Stützer comments: "One of ARTILLERY's biggest goals way back since the early demo days in 1982 has been to tour USA and Canada.

"After a few shows in the USA, playing at Maryland Deathfest, Barge To Hell and Saint Vitus club (in New York) we are finally doing our first full North American tour! We can't wait to play songs from our new album, 'Legions', together with old classic songs like 'Terror Squad' and 'Khomaniac'!"

"Legions" was released in November 2013 via Metal Blade Records.

Since the release of its previous album, "My Blood", in 2011 ARTILLERY has played European and South American tours and appeared at several festivals and the Barge To Hell cruise. In 2012 ARTILLERY saw the departure of Carsten N. Nielsen and Søren Adamsen. Two new members were recruited, making Josua Madsen the new drummer and Michael Bastholm Dahl the new singer.

In an interview with StageReport.ro, ARTILLERY guitarist Michael Stützer stated about "Legions": "I personally think it's the best production we ever had on a ARTILLERY album. It's very raw and heavy."

He continued: "Our new drummer, Josua and new vocalist, Michael, really deliver the goods on this album, Josua is an amazing drummer and real nice guy and Michael is the singer in ARTILLERY who is the closest ever to [original ARTLLERY vocalist] Flemming Ronsdorf beside putting a lot of new elements in the band because of his vocal range. He is also writing some great lyrics. So this band is a very complete unit."

Regarding what qualities they were looking for in a singer following the departure of Søren Adamsen, Michael said: "You will never hear ARTILLERY with a growler or a pop singer, but sung vocals with melody and rawness at the same time. Actually, we headhunted Michael from a cover band who played MERCYFUL FATE / KING DIAMOND covers, so we knew he could sing the old ARTILLERY songs very good."

Bassist HAL PATINO Fired From KING DIAMOND

Bassist HAL PATINO Fired From KING DIAMOND

Bassist Hal Patino has been relieved of his duties with KING DIAMOND "for reasons very similar to why he was fired from the band in 1990," according to the group's frontman and namesake, Danish heavy metal singer King Diamond. King adds: "This will have NO negative impact on our upcoming shows whatsoever. On the contrary."

King Diamond recently revealed to RollingStone.com that he is working on a new album from his namesake band, tentatively due next year. "We've done a lot of stuff," he said. "We are going in some new ways that are going to be amazing."

He continued: "I've been building a studio so I can do my vocals at home. Once it's completed, we can start recording.

"I have a title for a new record, but I won't say it.

"[The record] will encompass the things I need to write about after what I went through. But I can't say much about it because I haven't talked to the rest of the band about it."

KING DIAMOND in December 2012 signed a new three-album worldwide deal with Metal Blade Records.

King, 58, whose real name is Kim Bendix Petersen, underwent open-heart triple-bypass surgery in November 2010. He has since completed his cardiac rehabilitation program and has stopped smoking entirely, changed his diet and is getting regular exercise.

Asked what the hardest part of his recovery process has been, King told RollingStone.com: "It's tough to learn to breathe again. The doctors collapsed my lungs to do the work. When I woke up, it felt like I was being choked to death. I tried to pull the tubes out of my throat. The doctors tied me down to the bed. In my head, I was thinking, 'Fucking kill me.' It was horrible. I'm going to have to describe that feeling on the next album."

KING DIAMOND received a Grammy nomination in the "Best Metal Performance" category for the track "Never Ending Hill" off the group's latest album, "Give Me Your Soul … Please".

"Give Me Your Soul ... Please" entered the Swedish national chart at position No. 28. The CD also landed at No. 58 on the Danish chart (the second highest new entry on the chart behind VELVET REVOLVER).

"Give Me Your Soul ... Please" sold 4,500 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 174 on The Billboard 200 chart.

New SLIPKNOT Video Teaser

New SLIPKNOT Video Teaser

SLIPKNOT's official web site, Slipknot1.com, has been updated with a new video teaser in preparation for the release of the band's long-awaited new album, tentatively due before the end of the year via Roadrunner Records. Meanwhile, a posting on SLIPKNOT's Facebook page includes a screen capture of one of the shots that shows a pair of horrified eyes peering out at something unknown. The posting also comes with the caption "The Prescient/The Nascent/The Quotient."

SLIPKNOT has announced that the second edition of its Knotfest event will take place on October 24-26 in San Bernardino, California. The Iowa-based band will headline two of the three days, Friday and Saturday, playing a completely different set on each night. More than two dozen other acts are scheduled to appear, including FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, VOLBEAT, OF MICE & MEN, DANZIG, ANTHRAX, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, IN THIS MOMENT, HELLYEAH, ATREYU, SUICIDE SILENCE, MISS MAY I, TESTAMENT and many others. Friday night's show will be exclusively for fans who buy VIP or camping packages. With the long-awaited new SLIPKNOT album nearing completion, singer Corey Taylor told The Pulse Of Radio that the band did not want to announce any new live dates until the record was almost done. "After everything that happened last year, you know, we just basically said okay, what are we gonna do?" he said. "And everybody wanted to make an album. So we basically just cleared the slate and started looking at touring after we've got the album done. It's gonna be with new content, with new music, with new everything, basically."

Fans who purchase tickets to Knotfest will receive a digital copy of SLIPKNOT's new album when it's eventually released.

The band will also stage Knotfest Japan on November 15-16 in Tokyo.

Taylor said that the new SLIPKNOT album is "98 percent done" in an interview posted by Loudwire. Taylor revealed, "It is very close. The next step is the mix, and we’re going to try to get it out very soon. There will be big announcements soon."

The band's first all-new album since 2008's "All Hope Is Gone" will be its first since the 2010 death of bassist Paul Gray and the late 2013 dismissal of drummer Joey Jordison, both founding members and primary songwriters in the group.

SLIPKNOT is rumored to have recruited drummer Jay Weinberg to play on the new album. Weinberg is the son of Max Weinberg, longtime BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN AND THE E STREET BAND drummer.

Video: JOHNNY DEPP Joins AEROSMITH On Stage In Mansfield

Video: JOHNNY DEPP Joins AEROSMITH On Stage In Mansfield

International film star and musician Johnny Depp joined AEROSMITH on stage this past Wednesday, July 16 at Xfinity Center in Mansfield, Mansfield to perform a version of Tiny Bradshaw's "Train Kept A-Rollin'". Depp was reportedly in the Bay State filming the Whitey Bulger story, "Black Mass".

Fan-filmed video footage of Depp's appearance with AEROSMITH can be seen below.

Depp appears on AEROSMITH's latest album, "Music From Another Dimension!", which was released in November 2012. The actor laid down backing vocals on a Joe Perry-penned track called "Freedom Fighter". Perry told ARTISTdirect: "Steven [Tyler, vocals] and I were out in L.A., he was working on 'American Idol', which was basically two days a week. The rest of the time we were in the studio.

"It was so inspiring living out there in L.A. and rubbing elbows with so many musicians. Johnny Depp was one of them. I have to rate him as a first-class musician. As great as an actor as he is, he's also right there as a musician. I guess the acting thing outweighed the music thing way back when, but he's a musician through and through."

Perry explained how Depp ended up on the song: "Well, I needed a guitar, actually. We'd left a lot of stuff in Boston and he's got a great guitar collection and is a great guitar player, great musician and he was down at the studio a couple of times — so I asked him if I could borrow a couple of his axes. So he brought them down, and as we were laying the tracks down for this song, by the time we finished, it was two in the morning and it was time to do the backing vocals, and usually whoever is left there in the studio will end up doing it. He was there in the studio with some of his buddies, so he ended up doing the 'oh yeah's and stuff. But you can really hear it on the deluxe version of this record. We have the DVD and he sat down and we kept it rolling and he really got a chance to cut loose."

JAGUAR Taps BLACK SABBATH/JUDAS PRIEST Engineer MIKE EXETER For

JAGUAR Taps BLACK SABBATH/JUDAS PRIEST Engineer MIKE EXETER For 'Metal X" Album Mix

British heavy metal legends JAGUAR have completed work on their new album, "Metal X", for an August release via Mondo Tunes. The CD was mixed by BLACK SABBATH and JUDAS PRIEST engineer/producer Mike Exeter.

Focusing on the fundamentals of the NWOBHM (New Wave Of British Heavy Metal) era, the members of JAGUAR state that the new album is "as heavy, fast, loud and proud, all the components of what the band were about in '79, but recorded with a modern approach to get the best out of the new songs."

"It was great to have Mike on board for mixing duties," the group states. "He's a real cool dude, and one of the nicest guys in metal! Mike came straight from mastering with JUDAS PRIEST to work with us. He's nonstop and we are honored he gave us his time."

JAGUAR debuted some tracks from the album at their show at this year's edition of the Sweden Rock Festival, performing on the same day as BLACK SABBATH.

METALLICA's Lars Ulrich also shares some words about JAGUAR in the "Metal X" sleeve notes, stating that he has always been a huge fan of the band. The CD also features a special bonus track which METALLICA fans will be familiar with.

"Metal X" is JAGUAR's first new material release since "Run Ragged" in 2003 and features longtime bass player Simon Patel, who joined the band in 2006.

"Metal X" digipak CDs will be offered in the coming months. A limited-edition vinyl release is also being planned for later in the year.

In January 2007, Majestic Rock issued the first in a series of Internet-only archive releases containing a 1982 soundboard recording of JAGUAR performing in Hengelo, Holland. Entitled "Holland '82", the CD was strictly limited to 1,000 copies and featured sleeve notes from JAGUAR guitarist Garry Pepperd. It was only available from the Majestic Rock web site.

"Run Ragged" was released in July 2003 through Angel Air Records.

Blues Legend JOHNNY WINTER Dead At 70

Blues Legend JOHNNY WINTER Dead At 70

Blues legend Johnny Winter has died at the age of 70. The news was first reported by American Blues Scene and Jenda Derringer, wife of Winter's former bandmate Rick Derringer. Jenda wrote on Facebook: "[Johnny] passed early this morning in Zurich, Switzerland." She added: "He was not in good health and was very frail and weak."

Johnny has always been one of the most respected singers and guitar players in rock and the clear link between British blues-rock and American Southern rock. Throughout the '70s and '80s, Johnny was the unofficial torch-bearer for the blues, championing and aiding the careers of his idols like Muddy Waters and John Lee Hooker.

Winter's big breakthrough came in 1968 when Rolling Stone writers Larry Sepulvado and John Burks featured him in a piece on the Texas Music scene, which prompted a bidding war among labels that Columbia eventually won.

Winter remained active up until his death and was scheduled to release a new studio album, "Step Back", on September 2 via Megaforce Records. The follow-up to 2011's "Roots" features a host of special guests, including Eric Clapton, Ben Harper, Billy Gibbons, Joe Perry, Dr. John, Leslie West, Brian Setzer and Joe Bonnamassa.

"As the great blues historian Robert Palmer once bluntly stated, 'Texas's blues pedigree is unsurpassed," writes Brad Tolinski in the liner notes for the recent career-retrospective boxed set "Johnny Winter: True To The Blues". "But of all of these bright lights, perhaps the most electrifying, exotic and resilient Texas export is a snowy white guitarist from Beaumont, whose truth-is-stranger-than-fiction given name is Winter. For well over five decades, John Dawson 'Johnny' Winter III has produced and played on some of the most exciting blues and rock recordings in the history of both genres. His absolute command of traditional music has earned him the respect of serious musicologists, while his tremendous agility, wicked speed and full-tilt aggression on the electric guitar and acoustic bottleneck has won over several generations of younger rock players looking to cop some the fastest and hottest licks ever committed to tape."

WHITESNAKE Constructing New Studio In Reno (Video)

WHITESNAKE Constructing New Studio In Reno (Video)

Video footage of the contruction of WHITESNAKE's new studio, Hook City, in Reno, Nevada, can be seen below.

WHITESNAKE mainman David Coverdale revealed last month that the band found "a new super guitarist" to replace Doug Aldrich, adding that "contractual commitments on his side" prevented the group from announcing his addition to WHITESNAKE.

Aldrich left WHITESNAKE on May 7, explaining in a statement that he "had several recording and live commitments, so [he] needed a more flexible schedule to conclude these before going full force as normal." He added: "Unfortunately, my schedule was not workable."

Coverdale also revealed that WHITESNAKE is "deep into the pre-production of the new WHITESNAKE project, which is so exciting to me, it's beyond words."

Aldrich played on the last two WHITESNAKE studio albums, 2008's "Good To Be Bad" and 2011's "Forevermore", and appeared on several live releases, including last year's "Made In Japan" and "Made In Britain/The World Records".

Dutch guitarist Adrian Vandenberg, who was a member of WHITESNAKE during the band's successful late 1980s period, recently told the classic rock program "Radio Fireball" about the possibility of rejoining WHITESNAKE: "Never say never. David and I will always do something in the future, whether it's with the two of us acoustically or whether it's a blues album or a rock album or a tour. We are too good friends not to do it and we have too much fun working together. But it has to be next to [Adrian's current project] VANDENBERG'S MOONKINGS, not instead of."

IRON MAIDEN

IRON MAIDEN's STEVE HARRIS Hits The Road With BRITISH LION: Video Of Toulouse Performance

IRON MAIDEN bassist Steve Harris has just taken his solo/side project BRITISH LION back out on the road with a 10-date European tour starting on July 8 in Norwich and rounding off with an open-air show at the annual International Motorcycle Convention at the Moto Clube De Faro, Portugal on Saturday, July 19.

Fan-filmed video footage of BRITISH LION's July 15 performance in Toulouse, France can be seen below. Comments Steve: "As most fans know, I have strong ties with the Portuguese Moto Clube through our mutual friend Manu DaSilva, now sadly departed, who for many years ran MAIDEN's Eddie's Bar in Santa Barbara de Nexe near Faro. In fact, the first-ever BRITISH LION live show we played was in the Clubhouse itself!

"When they invited us back this year, to play at the same festival MAIDEN headlined in 2011 in memory of Manu, it provided the perfect opportunity to schedule a few shows beforehand on our way down to Faro from the U.K.

"We're playing clubs again, same as we did last year, as we all really love the vibe and intimacy of getting up close and personal with the crowd.

"Although we would have liked to have visited more cities and countries on this run, it simply hasn't been possible time-wise. This is for a number of reasons, probably of interest to MAIDEN fans!" Remaining BRITISH LION tour dates:

July 17 - Shoko, Madrid, Spain July 18 - Custom, Seville, Spain July 19 - International Moto Clube de Faro Convention, Portugal

BRITISH LION's debut album sold around 3,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD landed at position No. 3 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.

"British Lion" was released in the U.S. on September 25, 2012 via Universal Music Enterprises (UMe). Mixed by Kevin Shirley — whose credits include IRON MAIDEN as well as Led ZEPPELIN, JOURNEY and RUSH, among many others — the CD, which features Harris alongside vocalist Richard Taylor, guitarists Graham Leslie and David Hawkins and drummer Simon Dawson, presents a different side of the bassist's musical visions.

"British Lion" comprises ten songs that Steve and his collaborators have been working on between IRON MAIDEN tours and releases and is described by Harris as "'70s-influenced, British-sounding hard rock." "I'd say it's more mainstream rock than metal... and quite commercial… but good commercial," he said. "There's all kinds of stuff going on, with nods to THE WHO and UFO and some classic British rock bands, but it's not the progressive rock album some might be expecting."

"British Lion" track listing: 01. This Is My God02. Lost Worlds03. Karma Killer04. Us Against The World05. The Chosen Ones06. A World Without Heaven07. Judas08. Eyes Of The Young09. These Are The Hands10. The Lesson

STONE SOUR:

STONE SOUR: 'The House of Gold & Bones' Lyric Video

The official lyric video for the song "The House of Gold & Bones" from STONE SOUR, the group fronted by SLIPKNOT's Corey Taylor, can be seen below. The track is taken from "House of Gold & Bones - Part 2", the second part of STONE SOUR's two-album series, "House of Gold & Bones", which sold 35,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 10 on The Billboard 200 chart. The record arrived in stores on April 9, 2013 via Roadrunner.

STONE SOUR's previous album, "House Of Gold & Bones - Part 1", opened with 31,000 units to enter the chart at No. 7.

The "House Of Gold & Bones" albums were recorded at Sound Farm Studios just outside of the band's native Des Moines, Iowa with producer David Bottrill (TOOL, MUSE) at the helm.

STONE SOUR fired guitarist Jim Root in May.

Root reportedly chose to sit out STONE SOUR's recent North American tour so that he could concentrate on writing music for the next SLIPKNOT album.

He was replaced on the STONE SOUR tour earlier this year by Christian Martucci. It is not clear if Martucci will continue with the group.

Taylor and Root spent much of the last four years recording and touring behind three full STONE SOUR studio records, including 2010's "Audio Secrecy" and the double concept album "House Of Gold & Bones".

OVERKILL: First

OVERKILL: First 'White Devil Armory' Studio Clip

The first clip featuring footage of the recording sessions for "White Devil Armory", the new album from New Jersey thrash metal veterans OVERKILL, can be seen below. The CD will be released on July 22 in North America via eOne Music and on July 18 in Europe through Nuclear Blast Records. The effort was tracked at Gear Recording and was mixed by Greg Reely, who also worked on 2012's "The Electric Age".

The limited-edition box-set version of "White Devil Armory" includes a digipack CD, a leather belt and buckle plus a certificate of authenticity.

OVERKILL recently filmed videos for the songs "Bitter Pill" and "Armorist" with veteran director Kevin J. Custer (HATEBREED, TESTAMENT, SUFFOCATION). Custer previously worked with OVERKILL on the "Electric Rattlesnake" and "Bring Me The Night" clips.

"White Devil Armory" track listing:

01. Freedom Rings 02. Where There's Smoke...03. Pig04. Armorist05. Down To The Bone06. Bitter Pill07. King Of The Rat Bastards 08. Another Day To Die09. It's All Yours10. In The Name

Speaking to Steppin' Out magazine, OVERKILL vocalist Bobby "Blitz" Ellsworth stated about "White Devil Armory": "The new record has a blend of what we've done over the past half decade. I'm noticing it's a more punchy heavy metal record with more dimension than the last record had. Where is it going to end up on the food chain? I really don't know. But my feeling is it's an eclectic collection of moments from us. 'The Electric Age' came across, to me, as kind of a two-dimensional thrash record. This one is punchy but has a whole different bunch of ways to go and things to hear on it."

FOZZY: Entire

FOZZY: Entire 'Do You Wanna Start A War' Album Available For Streaming

"Do You Wanna Start A War", the new album from FOZZY, the band featuring WWE wrestling superstar Chris Jericho alongside members of STUCK MOJO, can be streamed in its entirety at Yahoo! Music. The CD will be released on July 22 via Century Media.

Fans can now pre-order the 12-track album at iTunes and receive an instant download of the song "One Crazed Anarchist".

Produced by FOZZY guitarist Rich Ward, "Do You Wanna Start A War" features 12 tracks, including the debut single, "Lights Go Out", the title track and the return of the Theremin in "Bad Tattoo". SLIPKNOT and STONE SOUR singer Corey Taylor recently described the CD as "dark, dense and sharp. Sonically and lyrically, this feels like it's going somewhere big. I love it!"

Asked about whether FOZZY's new album will feature any special guests, Jericho told the Boise, Idaho radio station 100.3 The X Rocks: "I mean, we always have a guest or two on every record, because… It's interesting when you see… You listen to Top 40 radio — every radio when I drive my kids to school, we listen to it — and you'll always hear Jay-Z plus Beyonce, or featuring Beyonce, or Rihanna featuring Lil Jon. And we thought, why don't we do more of that in rock and roll? I man, that's what we did. The last record, we had 'Sandpaper' with M. Shadows [AVENGED SEVENFOLD] and we had 'She's My Addiction' with Phil Campbell of MOTÖRHEAD. So this record we have one collaboration — a song called 'Tonight' with Michael Starr from STEEL PANTHER, who we toured with in Australia; a great singer. And we like that vibe. Musicians like jamming with other musicians; it's kind of what we do."

Regarding FOZZY's musical uproach on "Do You Wanna Start A War", Jericho said: "We wanted to do something a little different. We love, obviously, AVENGED SEVENFOLD or FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, we love IRON MAIDEN, we love OZZY [OSBOURNE]. But we also love PINK FLOYD and LED ZEPPELIN and QUEEN and U2 and THE BEATLES, bands that would always broaden their horizons, but still sound… the core of the band's sound was still there, but they would different things. And when we were listening to a lot of songs on rock radio, we felt that they fit a certain pattern. We wanted to do something that was different from that, and that's what 'Lights Go Out' kind of came from that mindset. So it is a different type of tune, but we wanted to do that and shake things up and take a chance. You know, when you do something like that, sometimes your hardcore fans will go, 'Well, this isn't what we've heard before,' but they'll eventually like it. And you do this to appeal to new fans, and that's what we're getting from 'Lights Go Out', who'd never heard FOZZY before, who'd never listened to FOZZY. 'Man, you guys rock! This song is amazing!' That's what you want…. This is a song that you can hear in a strip club, you can hear it in a dance club, you can hear it in next to a SLAYER song. It's kind of got all things to all people. 'Cause all that matters with music and a good song is the melody and the hook. And this has a great hook; you could catch 'Jaws' with this hook, that's how big it is. But it's dark, it grooves, it's sexy, it's sleek, and the chicks dig it, which is the most important thing. 'Cause when the chicks like something, that means the guys will follow."

"Do You Wanna Start A War" track listing:

01. Do You Wanna Start A War02. Bad Tattoo03. Lights Go Out04. Died With You05. Tonite06. Brides of Fire07. One Crazed Anarchist 08. Unstoppable09. Scarecrow10. No Good Way11. SOS12. Witchery FOZZY's last album, "Sin And Bones", sold around 3,400 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 143 on the Billboard 200 chart. The CD landed at position No. 1 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.

FOZZY is Chris Jericho on vocals, Rich Ward on guitar and vocals, Frank Fontsere on drums, Billy Grey on guitar, and Paul Di Leo on bass.

PESTILENCE

PESTILENCE's PATRICK MAMELI Changes Name Of New Project To NEUROMORPH

Vocalist/guitarist Patrick Mameli of veteran Dutch extreme metallers PESTILENCE has changed the name of his new project from NECROMORPH to NEUROMORPH. He explains: "I was contacted by the guitar player Ulf from the German death/grind band NECROMORPH. He asked me if I would reconsider renaming my new project.

"Of course, I was not aware of this band's existence, otherwise I would have never named my project NECROMORPH.

"So peeps, not to go to far away from the word 'morph,' which has a lot of meaning to me, i will call it NEUROMORPH, which is even more powerful and covers the style It fits the new style even better! I'm happy with this change."

Mameli recently announced that PESTILENCE was "no longer active in recording new material" and was "on a permanent hold" so that he could concentrate fully on NEUROMORPH.

NEUROMORPH is described as a "death-jazz-fusion project featuring all-new and original members, including possibly Georg Majer on bass, in which Mameli will put down the eight-string and get reacquainted with his six-string Steinberger once more.

Not dissimilar to the jazz fusion elements found on "Spheres", but combined with the modern PESTILENCE riffing attack, NEUROMORPH is set to blast past all expectations and shatter the eardrums of those thinking just another straightforward "jazzy progressive metal" album is on its way. "It's similar to jazz fusion," said Mameli, "but these riffs and songs will be more brutal than PESTILENCE… but way different than PESTILENCE!"

PESTILENCE's seventh album, "Obsideo", was released on November 12, 2013 via Candlelight Records.

BULLET:

BULLET: 'Storm Of Blades' Video Released

The official video for "Storm Of Blades", the title track of the new album from Swedish hard rockers BULLET, can be seen below. The CD will be released on September 5 in Europe and Sepember 9 in North America via Nuclear Blast. The band's fifth longplayer marks the first recording to feature BULLET's new guitar player Alexander Lyrbo, who replaced Erik Almström in 2012. "Storm Of Blades" track listing:

01. Uprising02. Storm Of Blades03. Riding High04. Tornado05. Hawk Eyes06. This One’s For You07. Hammer Down08. It's On09. Crossfire10. Run With The Hunted11. Coming In Loud (digipack bonus)

Check out the cover artwork below. "This is a fast and heavy back-to-the-roots album," the band comments. "A lot of the feeling, BULLET had in the beginning is there but with a up-to-date sound and craftsmanship.

"Now with the young blood Alex on the guitar, always thirsty for metal, the songs ended up just like that: Heavier, faster and more raw than on previous albums. We can now at last truthfully say; this is our best album this far and most likely the rawest since the 'Heavy Metal Highway' recording in 2002”

BULLET came up with the "Storm Of Blades" album title during a soundcheck before a show last year. "We wanted to make the toughest BULLET song ever and this riff popped up," says the band. "The first impression was the image of knifes falling from the sky and the title 'Storm Of Blades' was born. To make this song the title track of our new album became a must as it is a tale about destruction, apocalypse and horror!" "Storm Of Blades" was recorded during December/January 2014 and April/May 2014 at the Pama Studio in Torsås, Sweden. It was produced by BULLET and Magnus "Mankan" Sedenberg.

Immediately after making several summer festival appearances and the album release, BULLET will hit the road again, with two well-chosen support bands. "STALLION and STRIKER will be our fellow hellraisers on the first leg, and this tour should not let a fan of heavy metal music down," says BULLET. "We will raise hell, we will drink beer, we will bang our heads together and kill grunge... again! Prepare for the storm of blades!"

METALLICA: Official Footage Of U.K. SONISPHERE Performance

METALLICA: Official Footage Of U.K. SONISPHERE Performance

METALLICA's official YouTube channel Metallica TV has been updated with fly-on-the-wall footage shot by a MetOnTour.com reporter on July 6 at the U.K. edition of the Sonisphere festival, which was held at Knebworth Park in Hertfordshire. The 11-minute clip includes footage of "Fuel" and "One" from the show.

The band's setlist for the concert was as follows:

01. Battery02. Master Of Puppets03. Welcome Home (Sanitarium)04. Ride The Lightning05. The Unforgiven06. Fuel07. Lords Of Summer08. Sad But True09. Fade To Black10. Creeping Death11. One12. For Whom The Bell Tolls13. Blackened14. Nothing Else Matters15. Enter Sandman

Encore:

16. Whiskey In The Jar17. ...And Justice For All18. Seek & Destroy

As previously reported, METALLICA stars in the latest ESPN "This Is SportsCenter" ad. The clip, which debuted on Monday night (July 14) during this year's All-Star Home Run Derby, plays off the idea that the band members don't know what to do with themselves since Yankees star reliever Mariano Rivera retired last season and took his "Enter Sandman" entrance music with him — so the band begins a desperate search for something else to do. Drummer Lars Ulrich said, "Sometimes it can be quite freeing to put yourself at the mercy of others. ESPN's commercials have a tendency to be hilarious. We were like, 'That sounds like a good time.' The whole thing had an overriding impulsivity to it."

The long-running series of comical "This Is SportsCenter" ads promote ESPN's "SportsCenter" sports news show.

The commercials, which debuted in 1994, are presented in a deadpan mockumentary style, lampooning various aspects of sports and sports broadcasting.

After completing a recent European festival run, METALLICA has just one show on its calendar for the rest of 2014, at the Heavy MTL festival in Montreal on August 9.

The band is slated to enter the studio and begin recording its 10th studio album this fall.

CINDERELLA Guitarist JEFF LABAR Releases First-Ever Solo Video,

CINDERELLA Guitarist JEFF LABAR Releases First-Ever Solo Video, 'No Strings'

"No Strings", the new solo video from CINDERELLA guitarist Jeff LaBar, can be seen below. The clip was directed by James Erdman and features drummer Matthew Arnn, Jeff's son, guitarist Sebastian LaBar, and bassist Jasmine Cain.

"No Strings" was recorded with TESLA drummer Troy Luccketta and was mixed by CINDERELLA drummer Fred Coury. It is taken from Jeff's solo debut, "One For The Road", which will be released on August 26 through Rat Pak Records. Tracks on the seven-song CD. which features additional mixing of Chris Collier, range from classic, early CINDERELLA-style hard rock, to groove-laden blues rock, and everything in between. Jeff not only sings on this release, but also does a fantastic job of capturing the magic and spirit of the classic genre he helped create.

"I wrote 'No Strings' following my first marriage and subsequent divorce," LaBar tells Ultimate Classic Rock. "The relationship was awesome; the breakup, not so much."

In a June 2013 interview with Legendary Rock Interviews, LaBar stated about his upcoming solo album: "The way it started was, I've been threatening to do a solo album or years and at the end of [the summer 2012] CINDERELLA tour, my tour manager Larry Morand and my wife Debi called me on it. They said, Look, Tom's [Keifer, CINDERELLA frontman] solo album is coming out this spring, he'll probably tour on it through the summer. Now is the time, Jeff. It's time to get in the studio and start putting your money where your mouth is.' So, that's what I've been doing."

Asked how the direction of his solo material is different from what he has done with CINDERELLA, Jeff said: "The first song I recorded could have been a CINDERELLA song, I think, but you know when you get guitar players putting out solo records, from what I've seen, they are very self-indulgent in terms of guitar playing or even sometimes, they're instrumental records. Mine is self-indulgent in the sense that it will cover a lot of different types of music. The first song I did is called 'No Strings' and like I said, it's a rock song, it could be a CINDERELLA song. The second song I recorded is a total blues waltz/shuffle. The latest song I've done is almost like a FLEETWOOD MAC-type ballad. I've also written a slow, chunky metal song, a blues slide song and a flat-out metal burner, fast song so I think I am really trying to explore all of my different influences. It's all me singing and playing everything but drums."

Asked if he enjoys singing, Jeff said: "Absolutely, I've been singing all my life. Since I started playing guitar at the age of nine or ten, I was also singing, sitting in my bedroom with [LED] ZEPPELIN and BEATLES songbooks. I didn't just learn how to play the songs I loved, but I learned how to sing 'em too. I actually started out as a drummer and aspired to be a guitar player, and then when I became a guitar player, I aspired to be a singer. [laughs] I got the chance to do a lot of background vocals over the years in CINDERELLA, but make no mistake, I see myself and believe in myself as a singer."

TRIVIUM:

TRIVIUM: 'Through Blood And Dirt And Bone' Video Released

"Through Blood And Dirt And Bone", the new video from Florida metallers TRIVIUM, can be seen below. The clip was filmed and directed by Luke Daley.

"Through Blood And Dirt And Bone" is taken from TRIVIUM's new album, "Vengeance Falls", which made Top 10 chart debuts in Japan, Australia, Germany and Austria as well as a Top 15 debut in Canada and a Top 25 debut in the United Kingdom. This marked the acclaimed metallers' second consecutive Top 15 debut in the U.S. and highest-career debuts around the globe — including a No. 2 debut in Japan.

"Vengeance Falls" sold 17,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The record — which was produced by David Draiman (DISTURBED, DEVICE) — arrived in stores on October 15, 2013 via Roadrunner.

TRIVIUM in May parted ways with drummer Nick Augusto due to personal differences. Stepping in for him on TRIVIUM's recent dates was the band's drum tech, Mat Madiro.

"It just wasn't working out and we just felt it was time to… At that time, it was best to go our separate ways instead of trying to keep going on and then something happening and having an effect on shows or anything like that," TRIVIUM guitarist Corey Beaulieu told the Impact metal channel. "[The split] was very calm and chill, but it just needed to happen. Sometimes, after awhile, things just aren't going the way you kind of hope for and you've gotta make a switch. It's a pain in the ass to switch members and get someone up to speed. But Mat's been doing great. He came into the role and he's been doing a great job playing the songs and playing the shows. It was pretty smooth considering the circumstances — being in the middle of a tour and having to get a new drummer up to speed in 24 hours. But it was just something we had to do just to make sure that, moving forward, everything was tip top, 100 percent ready to roll."

Asked whether Mat is a permanent replacement for Nick, Corey said: "He's drumming for us for the foreseeable future, for the rest of the album cycle, which goes up 'till about December. And then we're just gonna see where we're at. We're not gonna make any quick decisions; we're just gonna let him get comfortable. He's only played about 20 shows with us, and before playing with us, he never really had played in front of people before. So we're just gonna let him ease into it, get comfortable playing the songs and knowing them, get comfortable playing shows, and then we're gonna see what happens. He's still… he plays a show and he's still part of the crew, 'cause he was the drum tech and he's teching himself, so he's going between both sides. Everything's been going great, the shows have been awesome, he's been playing great, so we're gonna leave it like that until we finish up all the shows we have booked and we're gonna see where it goes from there. We're gonna record a new record, and we'll see if he's the guy. It could possibly be him; you never know. [That decision will be made] months and months away from now. We're just taking it easy and not making any quick decisions and [taking chances on it] not being 100 percent down the road. That is the right thing to do. So we're keeping it fair for everybody and not leading anyone on. Playing shows and having fun is pretty much what we're just having it be for now."

Regarding TRIVIUM's plans for after this summer's Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival, Corey said: "We'll take a break for a while, have a couple of months off. Then we've got Knotfest in Japan. And then, hopefully, we're working on finishing the album [cycle] off with a tour in Australia. And then after that, we're pretty much not touring for awhile; we're just gonna working on a new album. I guess after this year, not many people are gonna see us play for over a year or so… We've been on tour pretty much non-stop since February. So once we get back in August, we're gonna [have some] vacation time and just be at home and decompress from [the road life]. We're actually gonna enjoy being at home, since we haven't… We've been home for about, like, a week since February. So it's just down time to relax and just kind of recharge. And then usually when we're home and we have that break, everyone just picks up a guitar and starts working on [new music]. We have a lot of stuff written, so we're gonna be working away at that during our free time. But that's just time away from the band mostly, since it's been such a busy year."

HAMMERFALL: Second

HAMMERFALL: Second '(r)Evolution' Trailer

After taking a creative break last year, Swedish metallers HAMMERFALL are fully recharged and back with a vengeance. The band's new album, "(r)Evolution", will be released on August 29 in Europe and September 2 in North America via Nuclear Blast.

The second trailer for "(r)Evolution" can be seen below. It was edited by David Havlena at the Pax studio. The first single from "(r)Evolution", "Bushido", will be released on July 18 digitally as well as on vinyl. The song sums up the band and its history perfectly, seeing as "bushido" means "the way of the warrior" in Japanese.

"Bushido" single track listing: A: BushidoB: The Way Of The Warrior (remixed by Fredrik Nordström) Comments HAMMERFALL guitarist Oscar Dronjak: "This album has more single quality songs than anyone we've ever done before, as evidenced by the fact that pretty much the only single choice we all could agree on was 'Bushido'. It captures the essence HAMMERFALL as much as any other song we have ever written, and it is one of the absolute strongest efforts from our camp, ever. It's filled with energy, hunger and pure adrenaline, and if you don't like this one, you have no love for HAMMERFALL heavy metal!"

The artwork for "Bushido" was created by Samwise Didier and can be seen below. With "(r)Evolution", HAMMERFALL takes things back to the roots in many ways, as the band once again worked with producer Fredrik Nordström, who helmed HAMMERFALL's two milestone releases "Glory To The Brave" and "Legacy Of Kings" during the group's early years and thus played a major part in the development of HAMMERFALL.

The music for "(r)Evolution" was recorded in March and April at guitarist Oscar Dronjak's Castle Black Studios. Singer Joacim Cans then went to the United States for vocal recordings, once again working with James Michael (SCORPIONS, MÖTLEY CRÜE), who previously collaborated with HAMMERFALL on "Infected". The album was mixed and mastered by Fredrik Nordström and Henrik Udd at Studio Fredman.

"(r)Evolution" represents yet another reunion of sorts for HAMMERFALL, who hired cover artist Andreas Marschall, the "father" of HAMMERFALL's mascot Hector, to design the artwork for the new CD.

"(r)Evolution" track listing: 01. Hector's Hymn02. (r)Evolution03. Bushido04. Live Life Loud05. Ex Inferis06. We Won't Back Down07. Winter Is Coming08. Origins09. Tainted Metal10. Evil Incarnate11. Wildfire

HAMMERFALL's "Gates Of Dalhalla" DVD entered the Swedish Music DVD chart at position No. 4. The set also landed on the German Music DVD chart at No. 6.

"Gates Of Dalhalla" was released as a DVD+2CD and Blu-ray+2CD on November 30, 2012 via Nuclear Blast. The set features the band's extraordinary 135-minute 15th-anniversary show that took place on July 28, 2012 on the historic open-air stage Dalhalla, built in an old quarry near the small Swedish village Rättvik. The footage was captured by Swedish director Patric Ullaeus of the Revolver Film Company AB, who has previously worked with IN FLAMES, DIMMU BORGIR, EUROPE and LACUNA COIL, among many others. Special guests during the concert included original HAMMERFALL members Jesper Strömblad (IN FLAMES) and Mikael Stanne (DARK TRANQUILLITY), as well as ex-HAMMERFALL guitarist Stefan Elmgren.

HAMMERFALL's last album, "Infected", sold around 1,700 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD debuted at No. 16 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.

DECAPITATED:

DECAPITATED: 'Blood Mantra' Track Listing Revealed

Polish death metallers DECAPITATED will release their sixth album, "Blood Mantra", on September 26 via Nuclear Blast. The follow-up to 2011's "Carnival Is Forever" was recorded at Hertz Studio in Bialystok, Poland with producers Wojtek and Slawek Wiesawski. The CD cover artwork was created by the Polish artist Lukasz Jaszak, who previously worked with the band on "Carnival Is Forever".

"Blood Mantra" track listing:

01. Exiled In Flesh 02. The Blasphemous Psalm To The Dummy God Creation03. Veins04. Blood Mantra05. Nest06. Instinct07. Blindness08. Red Sun09. Moth Defect (digipack bonus track)

Comments DECAPITATED guitarist and founding member Waclaw "Vogg" Kieltyka: "Extreme and groove — I think that's the best way to describe our new album.

"This time we feel that we have something totally crushing and huge.

"'Blood Mantra' is the most heavy and mature album we ever did in our carrier. I cannot wait to start to play songs live because riffs are soo deep and powerful."

DECAPITATED's forthcoming effort will mark the recording debut of the band's new drummer, Michal Lysejko, who joined the group in time for their tour with LAMB OF GOD in January. Vogg previously stated that the musical direction of the next DECAPITATED album: "We flirt with various tempos mixing death metal with grindcore and almost outright black metal atmosphere together with more, so to speak, 'crowd-puller' beats verging on groovy, almost stoner-rock climates. There are also a few more modern metal rhythmic riffs where we return to the climate of 'Organic Hallucinosis' album. I'm certain that the very fact we are again, after 9 years, in Hertz studio will evoke the spirit of that album. The vocals sound very promising. Rasta [Rafał Piotrowski] is a much more experienced vocalist compared to the 'Carnival Is Forever' album times. And his voice sounds more powerful and deeper."

"Carnival Is Forever" sold around 2,100 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD landed at position No. 11 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.

"Carnival Is Forever" was released in North America on July 12, 2011 via Nuclear Blast Records.

RUSSELL ALLEN And JORN LANDE To Release Fourth Collaborative Album

RUSSELL ALLEN And JORN LANDE To Release Fourth Collaborative Album 'The Great Divide' In October

Jorn Lande (MASTERPLAN, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN) and Russell Allen (SYMPHONY X, ADRENALINE MOB) will release the fourth ALLEN / LANDE collaborative album, "The Great Divide", on October 17 in Europe and October 21 in North America via Frontiers Records. The CD was produced by Timo Tolkki (TIMO TOLKKI'S AVALON, STRATOVARIUS) and features the following track listing:

01. Come Dream With Me02. Down From The Mountain03. In The Hands Of Time04. Solid Ground05. Lady Of Winter06. Dream About Tomorrow07. Hymn To The Fallen08. The Great Divide09. Reaching For The Stars10. Bittersweet

A trailer for the album is available below.

ALLEN / LANDE's previous albums were written and produced by Swedish guitarist/songwriter Magnus Karlsson (PRIMAL FEAR, STARBREAKER, LAST TRIBE).

The third ALLEN / LANDE collaborative CD was released in November 2010 via Frontiers. Entitled "The Showdown", the CD was mixed by Achim Köhler (PRIMAL FEAR, SINNER, SILENT FORCE).

In a February 2012 interview with Rock Sins, Allen was asked if it was likely that he would ever do anything else with Lande in the future. "Maybe tour," he said. "I don't know if we're going to do another record. I think we should tour first and get to know each other and all that good stuff and see if we've got something. I think it would be fun. I don't know what he's up to. We don't talk, we have no relationship, really, so I don't know what he's up to, but I think it would be a good idea for some touring. I do like doing records with him, because it's easy, the songs are great and his voice is great, and I always look forward to doing it. 'It's Allen and Lande time' [laughs], so I can just get in the studio and do my thing and it's a lot of fun. But there's nothing currently on the slate coming up that I know of. We finished our contract run with that, and I haven't talked to Frontiers about it."

MOTÖRHEAD

MOTÖRHEAD's PHIL CAMPBELL Says German Fan's Headbanging Injury Has Nothing To Do With Music

On July 4, Metal Hammer editor Alexander Milas conducted an interview with MOTÖRHEAD guitarist Phil Campbell for the "Metal Hammer" radio show on TeamRock Radio. You can listen to the chat using the SoundCloud player below.

Asked about the recent news report that a German heavy metal fan suffered bleeding in the brain after a night of headbanging at a MOTÖRHEAD concert, Phil said: "I read it on the paper in the paper on the train coming up [to MOTÖRHEAD's concert at Hyde Park in London]. That's just journalistic crap. It's nothing to do with [MOTÖRHEAD's classic song] 'Ace Of Spades' or music."

He added: "We don't have a problem with anyone. We just do our own thing. If people get into trouble while we're playing, that's their problem. It's a bad thing, but we don't try to get people to get into trouble or whatever."

The 50-year-old fan complained of a two-week constant headache while being treated at Hannover Medical School and told doctors that he had been headbanging regularly for years. A CT scan showed he suffered from bleeding — medically known as chronic subdural haematoma — on the right side of his brain.

Speaking to Metal Hammer magazine before MOTÖRHEAD's performance at London's Hyde Park, MOTÖRHEAD drummer Mikkey Dee said: "The first thing I thought [after hearing about the German metal fan] was, 'Oh, no! Poor guy.' Of course, we don't want anyone to get hurt at our shows. And it obviously had a happy ending and they made something, for us, quite positive for it, I guess. They said, 'It's confirmed, MOTÖRHEAD is the hardest-rocking band in the world.'"

He continued: "I feel for the guy. I'm sorry for him that he ended up getting [injured] that bad from being at a MOTÖRHEAD show. But I think we're gonna send him a hockey helmet and maybe a neck brace or something. He's gotta take it a little bit cooler."

Asked if he was surprised that something like this happened after a MOTÖRHEAD concert, Dee replied: "I'm not surprised at all, actually. This shit happens to us all the time. We said all these years that we're like 'Spinal Tap' and no script. If it is gonna be any band that ends up with these type of stories, it's obviously us. I'm not surprised. I just don't like when it's injury involved or people getting hurt, but if it does have a happy ending, yeah, I'm sure the guy can forgive us."

Due to a production error, the release date of the reissue of MOTÖRHEAD's 21st studio album, "Aftershock", originally scheduled for July 29 via UDR/Motörhead Music, has been pushed back to August 26. The CD was helmed by longtime producer Cameron Webb (MEGADETH, DISTURBED). The expanded edition will contain a bonus live CD — also recorded by Webb — consisting of live material comprised from the band's historic appearances in early 2014.

"Aftershock" sold 11,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 22 on The Billboard 200 chart.

GODSMACK Frontman SULLY ERNA Says There Will

GODSMACK Frontman SULLY ERNA Says There Will 'For Sure' Be Another Solo Album

GODSMACK frontman Sully Erna recently stopped by the "HardDrive Radio" studios to talk about the band's new album, "1000hp" (One Thousand Horsepower); his foray into acting; and his solo career. You can now watch the chat in two parts below.

Asked if he is planning to release a follow-up to his 2010 solo album, "Avalon", Erna said: "The solo stuff, I'm always working on material. I sit home, when I'm home, and the only thing I keep in my house is a drum set and acoustic guitar. I never really play electric at home. And because of that, whenever I'm noodling around, a lot of good ideas come up that are not always necessarily good For GODSMACK. So I tuck those away. So, for sure, I'll do another solo album at some point. I don't know how long [it's gonna be before it comes out], because I'm still debating who I'm gonna use for the project."

He continued: "It's one of those things that… That kind of stuff, I never wanna have a ceiling over my head, I never wanna have a leash on it, I never wanna have to follow a certain format. GODSMACK has built our career and we kind of identify now what we sound like and what we're supposed to do in this industry. And even though we like to stretch out a little bit and spring out some new textures and colors, which you'll hear on the new record, it's still, we kind of know where our place is in that world. With the solo stuff, I don't ever wanna have that kind of limitations, because I think it's the place I'd like to go one day, when this is all said and done, if I still wanna play music, I can sit up on stage with a piano and an acoustic and do one of those 'storytellers' kind of evening and just kind of live on more like a Billy Joel [type of artist], where [you can] just [write] a little bit of whatever you want to write and there is no specific category for it."

The seeds for "Avalon" were planted back when Erna was pre-GODSMACK, discovering Australian world fusion band DEAD CAN DANCE's 1993 album "Into The Labyrinth". Their "eclectic, mystical, hand drumming" approach filtered into GODSMACK hits like "Voodoo" and "Serenity". From there, an organic process of assembling the right musicians began. Erna recruited DEAD CAN DANCE percussionist Niall Gregory and longtime friend and blues vocalist Lisa Guyer, who introduced the guitarists, that lead to a keyboardist and cellists that would fill out "Avalon"'s diverse sound.

"1000hp" will be released on August 5 via Republic Records.

JUDAS PRIEST Shoots Down Rumor Former Guitarist K.K. DOWNING Was Going To Write Music For

JUDAS PRIEST Shoots Down Rumor Former Guitarist K.K. DOWNING Was Going To Write Music For 'Redeemer Of Souls'

British heavy metal legends JUDAS PRIEST have had no contact with their former guitarist Kenneth "K.K." Downing and there are no plans for Downing to rejoin the band on the road anytime soon, despite Internet chatter to the contrary.

Speaking to New York radio personality and VH1 Classic "That Metal Show" co-host Eddie Trunk for the inaugural installment of Trunk's podcast, "Eddie Trunk Podcast", JUDAS PRIEST members Rob Halford, (vocals), Glenn Tipton (guitar) and Richie Faulkner (guitar) were asked if there is any truth to the rumor that Downing was at one point going to contribute to the songwriting process for the band's new album, "Redeemer Of Souls", and possibly play some shows with the group alongside his replacement, Faulkner. "There's no plans for that," Tipton replied. "Ken didn't get involved in the writing of the album and there are no plans for him to join us on tour."

He continued: "I mean, Ken was quite honest when he left. He made it clear to us that he wanted limited conection with us because he didn't wanna try and get us to talk him into going back into the band. And we honored his request, really."

Added Halford: "That's the way the social media works. People think if they read something on the Internet, it's true. [laughs] 'Well, it's on the Internet. I mean, it's on the Internet.' It's just one of these unfortunate rumors that kind of put things into people's minds."

In April 2011, Downing revealed that he would be leaving JUDAS PRIEST prior to the band's "Epitaph" world tour. In October that same year, Downing spoke to Valley Radio Online about what happened, although he declined to go into specifics.

"It was a set of circumstances that led me to not go out [on tour with PRIEST] this year," Downing said. "I was kind of geared up for it, but there was a multitude of reasons. It pretty much came down to an unsettlement on my part with working relationships.

"It's like anything else. If anybody out there is thinking it's hard to live with one woman, they should try to live with four guys and hold it together. [Laughs]"

He continued: "It was a massive consideration. Obviously, the fans, who I love, and many of them have become very good friends. But I just hoped that they would appreciate that I couldn't continue with the way that I felt inside for reasons which I'll… I mean, certain reasons I will never, ever disclose."

Downing in 2011 shot down as "inaccurate" reports that he left JUDAS PRIEST because he chose to concentrate on running the 18- and nine-hole golf courses on his property.
