Poll: Four In Five People Wanted To Sell Their GLASTONBURY Tickets After METALLICA Was AnnouncedAccording to The Independent, the majority of fans attending this coming weekend's Glastonbury festival say they would have re-sold their tickets after learning that METALLICA would perform at the event.
METALLICA is the first metal act to headline Glastonbury in its 44-year history.
Glastonbury is a very laid-back type of festival, with more of a hippie/indie vibe than most, which is why there has been so much controversy over METALLICA playing the show in the first place.
Glastonbury, which sold out 137,500 tickets within less than two hours in 2007, introduced a system that same year whereby tickets included photographic ID of the original buyer, to enforce non-exchangeability.
After conducting a poll of 2,000 U.K. adults, Viagogo determined that almost four in five fans who bought a ticket to this year's Glastonbury were turned off by the fact that METALLICA was playing the event.
"These findings support widespread media reports that METALLICA was a controversial choice to headline one of the world's most iconic music festivals," a spokesperson for the ticket marketplace said.
"Fans around the country have been left feeling done by, with the festival organizers holding back the headline announcement until after the final resale date.
"We believe that once you've bought a ticket it's yours and if you want to sell it or give it away, you should be allowed to do so.
"In this case, with an unpopular headline act announced late, ticket holders lose out because they can't resell their tickets and METALLICA fans lose out because they can't buy them." 40

STEVE 'ZETRO' SOUZA Says He Has 'Basically Finished' Recording His Parts For Next EXODUS AlbumVocalist Steve "Zetro" Souza, who recently rejoined San Francisco Bay Area thrash metal veterans EXODUS after a decade away from the band, spoke to MetalRecusants.com about the progress of the recording sessions for the group's new album, tentatively due this fall via Nuclear Blast.
"I basically finished my parts on the new record," he said. "Of course, Gary's [Holt, EXODUS guitarist and main songwriter] in Europe with SLAYER right now so he hasn't been in the studio but he's been hearing everything daily because we've been able to send it."
Asked if there is a chance he will be able to contribute any of his ideas to the new EXODUS material, most of which was written before he returned to the band, Souza said: "I've already written a song for this new album…. There was a song we had that we needed to add lyrics to, and actually, Jack [Gibson, bass], Lee [Altus, guitar] and myself put the lyrics to it. So there's gonna be at least one on this album with a 'little Zet' to it."
Souza also explained the reasons for the cancelation of the previously announced European tour by his other band, HATRIOT, which also features his sons Nick Souza (drums) and Cody Souza (bass). He said: "We had nothing to do with that. [Headliners] ONSLAUGHT and ARTILLERY pulled off the bill, [and] since we were supposed to be the opener, we couldn't go over there and play those shows, it wasn't monetarily feasible for us to do. We were barely gonna break even on that tour anyway. We just wanted to do it for the fans, but when they (ONSLAUGHT and ARTILLERY) pulled out, we really couldn't consider going solo, especially with all the great festivals going on. We know we aren't strong enough yet to pull that off ourselves, so we had to abort. I know they (ONSLAUGHT and ARTILLERY) left the UK tour dates open for themselves but there wasn't enough juice for us to pay for the flight, hotel accommodations and whatnot, so we really needed those European dates to pull the whole trek off."
He continued: "We're extremely disappointed we lost those dates, and I want to repeat again that even though I'm in EXODUS now, I'm still doing HATRIOT, I'm not letting that go. There's been a lot of voices out there lately saying I'm gonna let it go, and I'm not. The band's (HATRIOT) working on some new stuff right now and I plan on writing new lyrics when I'm out on tour with EXODUS, SUICIDAL TENDENCIES and SLAYER. There's a lot of down time on tour, and I'm an early riser, I'm used to it from working. I'm up at 6:30-7:00 in the morning every day. There are only so many movies you can see, tracks you can run, you know?... I plan on doing it (HATRIOT) when the band (EXODUS) separates and Gary does his thing with SLAYER. I can't imagine EXODUS getting all the tours that SLAYER does. Then again, I don't know their plans, but I'm assuming at some point the bands will have to split apart. You know Lee has got HEATHEN and Jack and Tom [Hunting, drums] perform in a country band — everybody's got something else — so I'm going hard with HATRIOT and I'm not just half-ass doing EXODUS either."
EXODUS' next live appearance is scheduled for July 11 at the Bang Your Head!!! festival in Balingen, Germany.
Souza left EXODUS ten years ago on the eve of the band's South American headlining tour in September 2004 over what was described as long-standing business and personal differences. 15

ACCEPT will promote "Blind Rage" with a European headlining tour which will kick off on September 19 in Copenhagen, Denmark.
In a recent interview with Metal Assault, ACCEPT guitarist Wolf Hoffmann stated about the musical direction of "Blind Rage": "I think what we have here is really a collection of totally typical ACCEPT songs with the classic feel, and, of course, as always, there's an overriding theme of aggression and rage in all our music. I mean, otherwise it wouldn't be metal.
"People call our music at this point 'classic metal,' I believe, and we just fell in love with the title 'Blind Rage' and the artwork. Interestingly enough, we don't even have a song called 'Blind Rage'. We just have a collection of songs that to me all feel totally 100 percent classic ACCEPT."
Regarding the songwriting and recording process for "Blind Rage", Wolf said: "Andy is such a good partner now, we couldn't even imagine working without him on this album. He's such a natural fit and he did a great job on the last two albums. The only thing that we did way different this time from 'Stalingrad' is, we really took our time. 'Stalingrad' was really made almost in a rush, to be honest, because we had so many commitments right before we went to the studio to do the album and right after. Basically, by the time we started working on that album, we already knew when it had to be finished and what gigs we had booked. So that put us under enormous pressure, but this time, we really made sure it's right before it's ever released. We didn't work excessively long, we just took a little more time to make sure that we were in a little more comfortable place. These last few weeks we've just refined and tweaked little things that we normally wouldn't have the time to do."
Speaking to Metal Wani ACCEPT singer Mark Tornillo stated about what fans can expect to hear on "Blind Rage": "You can expect more of the same, but you can also expect, on this album, a little more diversity, I think. And the way I see it, some of the songs sound more classic than the stuff that we've done. I mean, there are songs, I think, when I hear the opening riff, I go, 'Wow! That could be on 'Balls To The Wall'.' So you're gonna get a few different… I mean, we're not searching for a direction at this point. We're writing to please ourselves and to please our fans… We're not changing horses in the middle of a stream. I mean, if something works for us, we're gonna stick with it. We're certainly not gonna change direction, but I think we're not afraid to step out a little bit. We're also not afraid to go back and be what the band was in the '80s, which is what we've really strived for."
On the topic of the vibe in ACCEPT during the songwriting process for "Blind Rage", compared to how it was for its two predecessors, 2010's "Blood Of The Nations" and 2012's "Stalingrad", Tornillo said: "The vibe is good. We're, I think, more relaxed at this point. 'Blood Of The Nations' was… We really had no idea where we were going at that point; we didn't even have a record deal when we wrote that record. We had no idea what was gonna happen and where it was gonna go, and we had a lot of time to do it. And then the response came, and we set the bar pretty darn high with that record. And then when we went back to do 'Stalingrad', we didn't have that luxury of time; they gave us a deadline, that they wanted the record by such and such a time, and it was a little more hectic. There was a lot more pressure than [there was on 'Blood Of The Nations']. Plus we had 'Blood Of The Nations' out there, and we had to try to top it, if possible, or at least try to get to where that record was. This one, we've had a little more time. This past year, all we did was festivals, which was nice, which gave us time to write on the road. And when we were done touring, we had a good three or four months to complete everything, which is a nice time frame." 27

KIX: Lyric Video For New Song 'Love Me With Your Top Down'The official lyric video for the new KIX song "Love Me With Your Top Down" can be seen below. The track is taken from the band's seventh album, "Rock Your Face Off", set for release August 5 on Loud & Proud Records.
For KIX, not recording any new music for two decades has been far too long. Fans have made it known for years that they want new music. And now, the time has finally come.
"Rock Your Face Off" is everything fans know and love KIX for: a raucous, roaring and real display of rock 'n' roll.
As guitarist Brian "Damage" Forsythe explains: "When we first played 'Love Me With Your Top Down' live just a few months ago, it went over like gangbusters with the fans. It's a catchy little tune with classic KIX flavor, a perfect choice for the first taste of the record." What makes the new album even more exciting and anticipated is that it features most of the band's original lineup: Steve Whiteman (vocals), Brian "Damage" Forsythe (guitar), Ronnie "10/10" Younkins (guitar), Jimmy "Chocolate" Chalfant (drums), with the exception of Mark Schenker (bass). With "Rock Your Face Off", KIX stirs up their truest statement to date in 2014. "It's still hot women, fast cars, and great moments," concludes Whiteman. "I want everybody to end up on their feet, whether they're working out or stuck in rush hour traffic. This is a release, something to lift your spirits when you need it. You can party to this one." KIX gracefully eased back into the public consciousness in 2008. After sold-out hometown gigs, the quintet hit the stage at Rocklahoma in front of over 20,000 people, venturing out of the Mid-Atlantic for the first time in 13 years. The band was hailed by many music web sites and attendees as "Best Performance" at the festival, where they played alongside SAMMY HAGAR, ALICE COOPER, TESLA, QUEENSRŸCHE, RATT, and more. After capturing their fiery reunion on 2012's "Live In Baltimore" CD and DVD, the band agreed to enter the studio once again. "In many ways, this is for the KIX diehards as much as it is for us," guitarist Brian Forsythe explains. "When we started doing this again, tons of fans came out of the woodwork. They'd show up with their kids, and it was just incredible to see. We had to deliver for them." In order to deliver, the band enlisted the talents of producer Taylor Rhodes (AEROSMITH, OZZY OSBOURNE), with whom they had last collaborated on 1991's "Hot Wire". Also, for the first time in the group's history, each member contributed to the writing process, fostering an extremely creative and free environment in the studio. A new dawn commenced as they simultaneously harnessed their classic spirit. "It was more free-flowing because everybody got to write and come up with ideas," says singer Steve Whiteman. "We encouraged this new freedom within the creative process." "Rock Your Face Off" track listing: 01. Wheels In Motion02. You're Gone03. Can't Stop The Show04. Rollin' In Honey05. Rock Your Face Off06. All The Right Things07. Dirty Girls08. Inside Outside Inn09. Mean Miss Adventure10. Love Me With Your Top Down11. Tail On The Wag12. Rock & Roll Showdown 2

POWERMAN 5000: 'How To Be A Human' Video PremierePOWERMAN 5000's video for the song "How To Be A Human" can be seen at Yahoo! Music. The track is taken from the band's new album, "Builders Of The Future", which sold around 4,200 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 63 on The Billboard 200 chart. Issued on May 27, the CD is the first release through POWERMAN 5000's partnership with T-Boy Records, a co-venture with Universal Music Enterprises founded by veteran rock manager Andy Gould. T-Boy releases include ROB ZOMBIE's "Venomous Rat Regeneration Vendor", MEGADETH's "Super Collider" and the self-titled debut album from KOBRA AND THE LOTUS.
"The video for 'How To Be A Human' is a departure for us," says band leader, visionary and sole remaining original member Spider One. "In the past, our videos have been big, over the top productions. This time, it was fun for us to show the band as a band. Just kind of rocking out. Although, conceptually it's not that simple. I look at this video as a propaganda film from another planet. An instructional video for how to be a human. It's a visual representation of how insane we would appear to be to an alien race."
"Builders Of The Future" track listing:
01. Invade, Destroy, Repeat02. We Want It All03. How To Be A Human04. You're Gonna Love It, If You Like It Or Not05. Builders Of The Future06. I Want To Kill You07. Modern World08. Live It Up Before You're Dead09. I Can't F-cking Hear You10. Evil World
POWERMAN 5000 has carved out a corner of the galaxy where their devoted supporters created a culture that's bigger than music, drawing upon a tapestry of comic books, horror films and fantasy cobbled together years before "geek" became a hip buzzword.
New tracks like "How To Be A Human", "Invade, Destroy, Repeat", "Live It Up Before You're Dead" and "Modern World" are turbocharged with the same futuristic, b-movie bite of enduring, electro-tinged POWERMAN 5000 anthems like "When Worlds Collide" and "Nobody's Real".
"I never would have imagined that after all the albums, the band members, the ups-and-downs of the always changing music business, I'd still be here doing this, which is thanks to our most diehard fans," marvels Spider One, who founded POWERMAN 5000 with a 4-track and a drum machine.
Armed with giant hooks and crowd-empowering choruses, Spider and his merry band of musical superheroes have made a record vibrantly reminiscent of their commercial breakthrough "Tonight The Stars Revolt!" (which gave DreamWorks Records their first platinum plaque). "Builders Of The Future" delivers on the promise of 2009's return to form "Somewhere On The Other Side Of Nowhere". POWERMAN 5000 has retrofitted their songwriting prowess even further, sounding hungry yet sophisticated, as if smiling amid a dystopian landscape, flipping middle fingers in the air and dancing till doomsday.
"At the end of the day, we are the ones who will go out and play these songs in every city in America and everywhere else around the world we can," Spider points out. "You have to live and breathe it. If you don't believe in it, it's easy for people to smell a rat. We can sit around and cry all day long about how the music business isn't what it used to be, but none of that really matters. What matters is to have a blast being in a band."
"We've replanted our flag as the weird, sci-fi, electronic band," proclaims Spider. "This is what we are. This is what we do best. This is clearly what people like from us the most, too. So I'm going to love it like they love it. We're back. The fanbase has really rallied around us again. The enthusiasm feels like it's picked right up from the year 2000. The electronic-metal-dance thing, we've locked it down once and for all with this one." 1

QUIET RIOT To Release '10' Album; Audio Snippet Of New Single 'Rock In Peace' AvailableQUIET RIOT will release a new album, "10", on June 27 via iTunes and Amazon through RSM Records. The effort will contain six new songs — including the single "Rock In Peace" — with the band's current singer, Jizzy Pearl (LOVE/HATE, L.A. GUNS, ADLER'S APPETITE, RATT), on vocals and four live tracks from 2007 with late QUIET RIOT singer Kevin DuBrow, which are from the last professionally recorded live shows DuBrow and QUIET RIOT played. The effort will feature guest appearances by bassists Rudy Sarzo (QUIET RIOT, DIO, OZZY OSBOURNE) and Tony Franklin (QUIET RIOT, THE FIRM, BLUE MURDER, WHITESNAKE).
A trailer for "10" featuring an audio snippet of "Rock In Peace" can be found below.
QUIET RIOT drummer Frankie Banali told Loudwire about the new CD: "One of the things Kevin and I always took great pride in was to continue to record new music and release records even when we knew that in the deflated almost nonexistent music industry, records don't sell or are illegally downloaded. We continued to do it for the music, for the fans, for promotion and for self fulfillment. That was my mindset, to continue the recorded history of QUIET RIOT beyond the loss of Kevin. I wanted to do it because guitarist Alex Grossi had yet to appear on a QUIET RIOT record. This is also the first time in 18 years that Chuck Wright has recorded with the band. I also invited Rudy Sarzo to play on two songs; he last appeared on record with QUIET RIOT 12 years ago in 2001 and Tony Franklin on two tracks, who played bass on the 2006 'Rehab' record."
Asked what he thinks Kevin would have to say about all of this, Banali replied: "Knowing Kevin as I did, he knows why I do things and how I do things and he would approve.
"We always prided ourselves in doing the best we could for QUIET RIOT and this is no exception.
"With the new songs, I know he would get it, and there is one song in particular which is my personal farewell to Kevin and very tongue in cheek. And don't expect it to be a ballad!
"The choices I made for the four live songs would be the same ones Kevin would have agreed with.
"Kevin and I had an understanding. I always expected to die before Kevin and we had both agreed that no matter who went first, the other would continue QUIET RIOT. That was set in stone years before Kevin died. I just never saw it coming and even knowing that Kevin was fine if I continued QUIET RIOT past his lifetime, it still took me three years of mourning to even think about continuing and here I am six years later still trying to get it right."
QUIET RIOT's new lineup — featuring Pearl — made its live debut on New Year's Eve (December 31, 2013) at Twin Arrows Navajo Casino Resort in Flagstaff, Arizona.
"I knew that resurrecting QUIET RIOT was going to be a major challenge and undertaking," Frankie said. "You simply don't replace a singer and personality like [late QUIET RIOT singer] Kevin DuBrow because he was the complete package, the real deal and my best friend.
"I never set out to replace Kevin, I set out to continue the band in his memory.
"We tried to work with Mark Huff on vocals and he just wasn't right for the band. We tried it with Scott Vokoun on vocals and in the end he also just wasn't a fit, and we parted company amicably.
"It's not just about singing, performing, work ethic, priorities, perception and personality, it is about all of those things and so much more.
"If I am guilty of anything, I am guilty of trying to get it right for QUIET RIOT."
Regarding Pearl's addition to the band, Banali said: "We've all known Jizzy for many years and toured together but in separate bands. Kevin was quite fond of Jizzy and thought he was a good singer and very intelligent. Jizzy made sense because he has the range and timbre to handle the QUIET RIOT material while still bringing his own sound and style to QUIET RIOT, which I welcome with open arms. He's also a pro, which makes it easy to work with; he knows the drill of being in and working in a band."
QUIET RIOT's current lineup is as follows:
Jizzy Pearl - VocalsFrankie Banali - DrumsChuck Wright - BassAlex Grossi - Guitar
Kevin DuBrow died in November 2007 of an accidental cocaine overdose. He was 52 years old.
QUIET RIOT was perhaps best known for its 1983 cover of "Cum On Feel The Noize". The song, featuring DuBrow's powerful, gravelly voice, appeared on the band's album "Metal Health" — which was the first by a metal band to reach No. 1 on the Billboard chart.

METAL CHURCH Performs At DOKK'EM OPEN AIR Festival (Video)Fan-filmed video footage of METAL CHURCH's performance at this year's edition of the Dokk'em Open Air festival, which was held June 20-21 in Dokkum, The Netherlands, can be seen below.
"Generation Nothing", the tenth studio album from METAL CHURCH — Ronny Munroe on vocals, Kurdt Vanderhoof and Rick Van Zandt on guitar, Steve Unger on bass, and Jeff Plate on drums — sold around 600 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD was issued on October 22, 2013 via Kurdt's label Body Of Work Recordings in conjunction with Rat Pak Records.
According to Vanderhoof, "Generation Nothing" — which was recorded at Kurdt's English Channel studio in Washingtion — marks a "return to [METAL CHURCH's] classic metal sound. It has elements of the first album and 'The Dark', but still embraces the new sound of the band without chasing the past."
Munroe said in an interview with Metal Assault that the new METAL CHURCH effort would contain material that is "very reminiscent of the old days with some stuff that's very 'now.'" He added: "There's a bit of… I'm not going to say 'prog' because it's not, but there's a couple of elements in there that are a little bit progressive. For the most part, out of this batch of songs, they really sound more reminiscent of the early days than anything we've done before with this lineup. This excites me very much, and I think the fans are really going to dig it."
Regarding the circumstances that led to METAL CHURCH's breakup in 2009, Ronny said: "Well, in a nutshell, without going into a huge and long story here, it was certain aspects of things that had continued to happen to the band throughout its career. Not having the proper management and the proper people in place that were handling us. You know, we ended up taking some shows we shouldn't have taken and that just led to where Kurdt was really getting fed up and then we all kind of got that way. Basically, we figured before we end up disbanding because of other reasons such as maybe starting to fight with one another or whatnot, we decided to go ahead and end it then. We all ended up friends and we wanted to keep it that way. So I won't go into specifics, but we all know what the music industry is like now compared to what it was like back then. We just didn't have the right people in our camp."
Asked what the band is going to do differently this time around to avoid falling into the same trap, Ronny said: "This time around we're going to release this next record on Kurdt's label. Basically, Kurdt and the band and whatnot are taking a lot more control of the situation. Yes, maybe the downloading thing is even worse than 2009, but also on the other hand, if you know what you're doing and you use the Internet correctly, you can actually have success. Kurdt's been doing that with his prog band PRESTO BALLET and whatnot. In this day and age, the time is right to go and try something on your own. If it doesn't work, you can always end up going out and searching for a label or something. We're going to take a shot at it and see what happens and I think we're probably going to have some decent success."

MR. BIG To Release '...The Stories We Could Tell' Album In SeptemberMR. BIG has set "...The Stories We Could Tell" as the title of the band's new studio album, due in September via Frontiers Records. The CD's first single will be made available later this summer.
MR. BIG's latest album, "What If…", was released in Europe in January 2011 via Frontiers Records. The North American release, also on Frontiers Records, followed in February 2011.
"What If…" was MR. BIG's first "all-original" album since the reunion of the four original members, Eric Martin, Paul Gilbert, Billy Sheehan and Pat Torpey, back in early 2009. Sixteen years after the release of "Hey Man", the new recording was produced by Kevin Shirley (AEROSMITH, RUSH, IRON MAIDEN).
Formed in 1988, MR. BIG forged its place in hard rock history by combining trademark "shredding" musicianship with awesome vocal harmonies. The original lineup produced numerous hit songs that ranged across a wide array of rock genres, be it ballads, heavy metal, or blues rock. Their hits included "To Be With You" (Billboard Hot 100 number one single in 15 countries for weeks, in 1991, propelling the band the band to huge international success and record sales in the multi-millions), "Wild World", "Green-Tinted Sixties Mind", "Just Take My Heart", and a host of heavy metal songs that were played mostly during their live performances: "Daddy, Brother, Lover, Little Boy", "Addicted to that Rush", "Colorado Bulldog", and "Take Cover". 3

PITCH BLACK FORECAST Featuring MUSHROOMHEAD, TESTAMENT Members: New Release Due This FallPITCH BLACK FORECAST, an all-star project formed by Jason Popson (J Mann of MUSHROOMHEAD) and Gene Hoglan (STRAPPING YOUNG LAD, DEATH, DARK ANGEL, TESTAMENT) has signed a deal with Ohio-based Ferocious Records for the release of a new album featuring guest appearances by Randy Blythe (LAMB OF GOD), Devin Townsend and M. Shadows (AVENGED SEVENFOLD). The as-yet-untitled CD includes completely remixed and remastered tracks from PITCH BLACK FORECAST's two previous self- releases (an out-of-print full-length and EP) plus a special bonus EP by another Popson side project named BITCH WRANGLER. A four-song EP titled "Spitef*ck" will be included as bonus tracks. "This record is a compilation of my favorite PITCH BLACK FORECAST songs, which are remixed with additional tracking and far closer to my initial vision," said Popson, who recently rejoined MUSHROOMHEAD for the band's Top 20 Billboard-charting new record, "The Righteous & The Butterfly". "The funny thing about side projects is the time frame in which you must deliver, sometimes things are rushed and unfocused. With this release, we've trimmed the fat and took our time compiling what I consider the definitive PITCH BLACK FORECAST release."
Asked what genre PITCH BLACK FORECAST falls under, Popson simply said "pissed" to describe the aggressive wallop of the material.
Regarding the BITCH WRANGLER side project, Popson said, "[It] is some totally original, experimental music that is meant to offend." Both the PITCH BLACK FORECAST and BITCH WRANGLER projects will be released this fall. 1

ANAAL NATHRAKH Signs To METAL BLADE RECORDSMetal Blade Records has announce the signing of Birmingham, England's ANAAL NATHRAKH.
Comments ANAAL NATHRAKH: "We are very pleased to announce our signing with Metal Blade Records. It means we are joining a roster with some truly titanic figures, and a label responsible for releasing some utterly legendary albums. Few other labels can touch their legacy in metal. With Metal Blade's reputation and clout behind us, we look forward to previously undreamed of levels of despoilment."
ANAAL NATHRAKH was created for one purpose — to be the soundtrack for armageddon, the audial essence of evil, hatred and violence, the true spirit of necro taken to its musical extremes. Since its inception in 1999, the band has gained a reputation for embodying precisely these things, with a history including not only the release of seven albums and an EP to rapturous acclaim, but collaborations with such legendary figures as Attila Csihar (MAYHEM), Shane Embury and Danny Herrera (NAPALM DEATH), Nick Barker (CRADLE OF FILTH, DIMMU BORGIR), Joe Horvath (CIRCLE OF DEAD CHILDREN), Sethlans Teitan (WATAIN) and so on. This, alongside appearing on BBC Radio 1 at the personal behest of sadly missed icon John Peel, headlining a stage at the renowned cult Inferno festival in Norway as their debut international live appearance, countless placings in "best album of the year" polls and album of the month awards in the press and cover appearances on leading magazines such as Terrorizer… ANAAL NATHRAKH's status as one of the leading lights in extreme metal is undeniable.
Uniquely hallmarked by breathtaking musical ferocity, inventiveness and breadth, married with mercurial, intensely misanthropic and sharp intelligence, ANAAL NATHRAKH's sound is imbued with a palpable sense of menace that is virtually unmatched in metal.
With their last album, "Vanitas", garnering numerous accolades including appearing in various "best of 2012" lists and winning first place in the Terrorizer readers' "Album Of The Year" poll (alongside second places in "Best Vocalist" and "Best Band"), ANAAL NATHRAKH is set to reach ever higher on its mission to send the Earth crashing into the Sun with its new label, Metal Blade, and its excoriating new album, to be released later this year. 1

TRIVIUM: Fan-Filmed Footage Of Tilburg ConcertFan-filmed video footage of TRIVIUM's June 24 performance at 013 in Tilburg, The Netherlands can be seen below.
TRIVIUM was forced to cancel several shows on its recent tour after guitarist/vocalist Matt Heafy "blew out" his voice during the Rock On The Range festival, which was held May 16-18 at the Columbus Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio. He said: "My doctor's orders are that I need two weeks of rest before resume singing."
TRIVIUM's new album, "Vengeance Falls", made Top 10 chart debuts in Japan, Australia, Germany and Austria as well as a Top 15 debut in Canada and a Top 25 debut in the United Kingdom. This marked the acclaimed metallers' second consecutive Top 15 debut in the U.S. and highest-career debuts around the globe — including a No. 2 debut in Japan.
"Vengeance Falls" sold 17,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The record — which was produced by David Draiman (DISTURBED, DEVICE) — arrived in stores on October 15, 2013 via Roadrunner.
Regarding how the album was received, bassist Paolo Gregoletto told the 99.7 The Blitz radio station: "It seems like it's picking up momentum as it's come out. Since we've come back in the States, we started [touring] with VOLBEAT, like, six or seven weeks ago, it's just been, like, a constant momentum, leading up to [Rock On The Range], and now going into [the Rockstar Energy Drink] Mayhem [festival], we're really just excited that we're reaching so many new people and this is their first experience of us."
TRIVIUM last month parted ways with drummer Nick Augusto due to personal differences. Stepping in for him on TRIVIUM's recent dates was the band's drum tech, Mat Madiro.

FOZZY: Tonite' New Song Snippet Featuring STEEL PANTHER's MICHAEL STARR (Audio)FOZZY, the band featuring WWE wrestling superstar Chris Jericho alongside members of STUCK MOJO, will release its new album, "Do You Wanna Start A War", on July 22 via Century Media.
A snippet of the song "Tonite" — featuring a guest appearance by STEEL PANTHER's Michael Starr — can be streamed in the YouTube clip below.
Fans can now pre-order the 12-track album at iTunes and receive an instant download of the song "One Crazed Anarchist".
The official lyric video for "One Crazed Anarchist" can be seen below.
Produced by FOZZY guitarist Rich Ward, "Do You Wanna Start A War" features 12 tracks, including the debut single, "Lights Go Out", the title track and the return of the Theremin in "Bad Tattoo". SLIPKNOT and STONE SOUR singer Corey Taylor recently described the CD as "dark, dense and sharp. Sonically and lyrically, this feels like it's going somewhere big. I love it!"
Asked about whether FOZZY's new album will feature any special guests, Jericho told the Boise, Idaho radio station 100.3 The X Rocks: "I mean, we always have a guest or two on every record, because… It's interesting when you see… You listen to Top 40 radio — every radio when I drive my kids to school, we listen to it — and you'll always hear Jay-Z plus Beyonce, or featuring Beyonce, or Rihanna featuring Lil Jon. And we thought, why don't we do more of that in rock and roll? I man, that's what we did. The last record, we had 'Sandpaper' with M. Shadows [AVENGED SEVENFOLD] and we had 'She's My Addiction' with Phil Campbell of MOTÖRHEAD. So this record we have one collaboration — a song called 'Tonight' with Michael Starr from STEEL PANTHER, who we toured with in Australia; a great singer. And we like that vibe. Musicians like jamming with other musicians; it's kind of what we do."
Regarding FOZZY's musical uproach on "Do You Wanna Start A War", Jericho said: "We wanted to do something a little different. We love, obviously, AVENGED SEVENFOLD or FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, we love IRON MAIDEN, we love OZZY [OSBOURNE]. But we also love PINK FLOYD and LED ZEPPELIN and QUEEN and U2 and THE BEATLES, bands that would always broaden their horizons, but still sound… the core of the band's sound was still there, but they would different things. And when we were listening to a lot of songs on rock radio, we felt that they fit a certain pattern. We wanted to do something that was different from that, and that's what 'Lights Go Out' kind of came from that mindset. So it is a different type of tune, but we wanted to do that and shake things up and take a chance. You know, when you do something like that, sometimes your hardcore fans will go, 'Well, this isn't what we've heard before,' but they'll eventually like it. And you do this to appeal to new fans, and that's what we're getting from 'Lights Go Out', who'd never heard FOZZY before, who'd never listened to FOZZY. 'Man, you guys rock! This song is amazing!' That's what you want…. This is a song that you can hear in a strip club, you can hear it in a dance club, you can hear it in next to a SLAYER song. It's kind of got all things to all people. 'Cause all that matters with music and a good song is the melody and the hook. And this has a great hook; you could catch 'Jaws' with this hook, that's how big it is. But it's dark, it grooves, it's sexy, it's sleek, and the chicks dig it, which is the most important thing. 'Cause when the chicks like something, that means the guys will follow."
"Do You Wanna Start A War" track listing:
01. Do You Wanna Start A War02. Bad Tattoo03. Lights Go Out04. Died With You05. Tonite06. Brides of Fire07. One Crazed Anarchist 08. Unstoppable09. Scarecrow10. No Good Way11. SOS12. Witchery FOZZY's last album, "Sin And Bones", sold around 3,400 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 143 on the Billboard 200 chart. The CD landed at position No. 1 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.
FOZZY is Chris Jericho on vocals, Rich Ward on guitar and vocals, Frank Fontsere on drums, Billy Grey on guitar, and Paul Di Leo on bass.

SUICIDAL TENDENCIES: Video Footage Of AMNESIA ROCKFEST PerformanceFan-filmed video footage of SUICIDAL TENDENCIES' June 20 performance at Amnesia Rockfest in Montebello, Quebec, Canada can be seen below.
SUICIDAL TENDENCIES' latest album, "13", which sold around 3,200 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 187 on The Billboard 200 chart. The first studio album in 13 years from SUICIDAL TENDENCIES was produced by vocalist Mike Muir and Grammy-nominated engineer/mixer Paul Northfield (DREAM THEATER, HOLE, RUSH).
In a May 2013 interview with Loudwire, Muir stated about the making of "13": "We were close to [having] 160 songs, but there were a lot of changes in the studio right up until the very end. I think if it hadn't been so long we probably would still be recording right now, but we actually kind of enjoyed that process. Putting records out isn't very fun, but recording is fun."
He continued: "I think one of the things is the way music is now and doing your own thing. It used to be you put out a record and you went on tour for a year or so, you got back, took a little time off and then you went in the studio and recorded 15 or 20 songs and you picked them and put it out. I don't think that is necessarily the way things are anymore and the fact that things don't sell or anything like that. Then it gets to the point, like, 'Why are we putting out something and kind of defend it in a sense because all of our records always get attacked when it's something we love?'
"Ten years ago, we got our own studio and we have that ability where it's not, like, 'Okay, we got three or four weeks, we have to get everything done and then that's it.' You're able to go into the studio anytime and write and when you do that you're not sitting there going, 'How's this song going to fit in on a SUICIDAL record?' You just record and you do what you like and you have a lot of fun. I think it was at the end when it started getting to so many years where we were, like, 'We need to kind of get this done.'"

"Left In The Dark" will be released on July 4 via earMUSIC.

ANTHRAX Members Join LIMP BIZKIT On Stage For PUBLIC ENEMY Cover (Video)ANTHRAX members Scott Ian (guitar), Frank Bello (bass) and Joey Belladonna (vocals) joined LIMP BIZKIT on stage last night (Tuesday, June 24) in Hamburg, Germany to perform a cover version of the PUBLIC ENEMY classic "Bring The Noise". Fan-filmed video footage of the performance can be seen below.
Asked in a 2013 interview with The National Student if he thinks the backlash in the collaboration ANTHRAX did with PUBLIC ENEMY helped to form any of the nu-metal music today, Ian said: "You know, people ask us, do we think we created certain genres of music that the press named after we did what we did with PUBLIC ENEMY. I never thought we invented it. It certainly opened a door, even just a window for people to jump out of. I truly believe that RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE were the band that drove a train through that door; they took the influences in their individuals and came together to make a band out of it. Whereas with us and PUBLIC ENEMY, it's not like ANTHRAX became a rap group and it's not like PUBLIC ENEMY became a metal group, we just collaborated together and did something great. We didn't then become one unit and continue to make music like that. Whereas, RAGE AGAINST were that unit and this is the music that they were creating from their souls which blew up massively on a worldwide level. So I think if anything, whether or not they'd want the credit for it, it's definitely RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE for me that created rap metal, nu-metal, whatever you want to call it. Everything that came after them showed that a direct line had to go back to RAGE. The only thing I can personally take credit for is, there have been guys in bands that have come up to me and personally told me the influence that we bring to them specifically some of the dudes from LINKIN PARK told me years and years ago that the first concert they ever saw was ANTHRAX and PUBLIC ENEMY in Los Angeles. And they left that show saying that's the kind of band we want me to make. I know the guys in RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE and I know Tom [Morello, guitar] and he was a fan of ours and PUBLIC ENEMY's and what we did. I'm not saying 'Bring The Noise' was a direct responsibility for RAGE, but I know that it's something they are certainly fans of."
In a recent interview with the Cleveland Music Examiner, Ian stated about ANTHRAX's original decision to record a cover of "Bring The Noise": "By that point, there was a new audience, and we certainly reached a lot of new people with that PUBLIC ENEMY track. People who maybe weren't into what we'd done before, or who weren't metalheads. So that track crossed over for us and took us into a new zone. But it's funny, because we haven't done anything rap or crossed over since 'Bring The Noise', yet people once again still talk about it, which shows me how special it was. People still want to hear it and people still reference it all the time, and it's almost 25 years old. And sometimes we're categorized as a 'rap metal' band, when we only ever did the two songs — other then maybe screwing around with 'Looking Down The Barrel Of A Gun' with the BEASTIE BOYS as a B-side — but yeah. People still talk about it as if that's what we do." 8

ARMAGEDDON Featuring Former ARCH ENEMY Guitarist CHRISTOPHER AMOTT: 'Captivity & Devourment' Artwork UnveiledThe cover artwork for "Captivity & Devourment", the new album from ARMAGEDDON, the band led by former ARCH ENEMY guitarist Christopher Amott, can be seen below. Visual master Paolo Girardi created this oil painting after reading the album lyrics and story written by ARMAGEDDON bassist Sara Claudius. The group states: "He took his own inspiration and painted a scene of total destruction as described across the album. We thoroughly enjoyed our collaboration with him. We strictly did not want the uninspired digital photoshop album art that is so prevalent these days. This is hand painted visions of a man inspired by music."
ARMAGEDDON first came to life in Sweden in 1997 as a studio project, with the release of "Crossing The Rubicon", a sci-fi themed concept album. Two more full-length efforts followed, "Embrace The Mystery" in 2000 and "Three" in 2003, both featuring different lineups and different musical directions, with Amott as the sole remaining original member.
ARMAGEDDON is now resurrected in its most powerful form. The band is based out of New York City, and has brought unto itself a crushing lineup of musicians. Together they have once again conjured up the force that is ARMAGEDDON.
Due later in the year, "Captivity & Devourment" consists of 10 awe-inspiring and ingeniously crafted songs, full of devastating riffs, soaring guitar leads and fist-pumping choruses. Heavy, melodic, technical, and groovy, this is creative metal songwriting with one foot in deep in the classics and and one eye gazing towards the distant future.
ARMAGEDDON 2014 is:
Matt Hallquist - Lead VocalsChristopher Amott - Guitar, Clean VocalsJoey Concepcion - GuitarSara Claudius - BassMárton Veress - Drums
Amott's latest solo album, "Impulses", can be purchased directly from his music store.
Amott in March 2012 issued a statement explaining that he left ARCH ENEMY to pursue his solo career. He said, "I'm gonna continue to be very active in music, working with all kinds of styles — this does not rule out metal."
ARCH ENEMY recruited American guitarist Nick Cordle (ARSIS) to replace Christopher.
Christopher Amott started his career in music in 1995 as a founding creative force and guitarist in ARCH ENEMY. In this context, he is known for his tastefully technical guitar work and memorably emotive playing style.
After garnering his early success, Christopher had the desire to express himself on a personal level in the same genre. At this time he began writing albums under the name ARMAGEDDON. Christopher wrote and recorded three albums over the next few years as ARCH ENEMY grew into an internationally recognized act, with his compositions featuring his own vocal stylings on the last album. This would be Christopher's first foray into singing and a spark of inspiration for his later musical ventures.
In 2008, Christopher began to consider his creative options as a mature musician. He began writing songs of an entirely different atmosphere, which saw his guitar playing focused less on technical ecstasy and more on a chord-based blues rock ambience as a foundation for more prominent vocal and lyrical ideas. These compositions developed into his next solo project; the album would be called "Follow Your Heart", released under his own name in 2010.

AVENGED SEVENFOLD: 'Waking The Fallen: Resurrected' Details RevealedAVENGED SEVENFOLD will release "Waking The Fallen: Resurrected" on August 26 via Hopeless Records. The band personally curated this rare, never-before-seen look at its fan-favorite, genre-defining, breakthrough album "Waking The Fallen". The new release includes 11 never-before-heard songs, 23 total tracks, new artwork, the original first cut of the music video for "Unholy Confessions" and a 30-minute film featuring the present-day band, directed/edited by Rafa Alcantara.
New content on "Waking The Fallen: Resurrected":
* Two new songs, including the lead track "Waking The Fallen: Resurrected", which had been lost to history before it was discovered buried deep within the original multi-track recordings. Originally intended to make the album as a full song, it was ultimately reworked into a vocal free intro. Later the band drew inspiration from this lost song's piano intro, building it out into their hit song "Beast And The Harlot" off their next album, "City Of Evil". This song is a previously unknown link between two major eras in the band's career.
* Four never-before-heard demos recorded by THRICE's Teppei Teranishi, including "Chapter Four", "Remenissions", "I Won't See You Tonight Part 1" and "I Won't See You Tonight Part 2". These early version demos contain alternate lyrics, melodies, and arrangements giving fans a unique and unprecedented behind the scenes look at the evolution of four of the band's most popular songs.
* Five live versions recorded in 2004 from some of the band's earliest shows, including "Chapter Four (Live In Ventura)", "Desecrate Through Reverence (Live In Pomona)", "Eternal Rest (Live In Pomona)", "Unholy Confessions (Live In Ventura)" and "Second Heartbeat (Live In Ventura)". Very little live material from this era of AVENGED SEVENFOLD's career has ever seen the light of day.
* A 30-minute documentary featuring brand new interviews from band looking back on the of the leadup, demoing, recording and touring around the "Waking The Fallen" album. The 30-minute film includes personal behind the scenes home movies and photos from the band's earliest days.
* The original first cut of the "Unholy Confessions" music video.
In a recent interview with Loudwire, AVENGED SEVENFOLD singer M. Shadows stated about the "Waking The Fallen" reissue: "We're going to put something together for the 10-year anniversary of 'Waking The Fallen', which is about 11 or 12 years now. We've been trying to think of something we could put together and we found some old demos that we did with Teppei from THRICE before we even did that record." He added: "We also found some old footage with [late drummer] Jimmy [Sullivan] playing some old shows at The Henry Fonda Theater in L.A., and the Ventura Theater. We'll put together a cool DVD and some demo tracks and re-release 'Waking The Fallen' for newer fans of the band that haven't gotten that or don't know about the history of the band."

Guitarist NITA STRAUSS Is 'Honored And Excited' To Be Playing With ALICE COOPERGuitarist Nita Strauss, who recently joined the ALICE COOPER band as the replacement for Orianthi, says that she is "honored and excited" to have been chosen to tour with the legendary rocker.
Strauss, a longtime Ibanez signature series endorsee who made her name with THE IRON MAIDENS, FEMME FATALE and LA Kiss, will hit the road with the rest of Cooper's band — guitarists Ryan Roxie and Tommy Henriksen, plus bassist Chuck Garric and drummer Glen Sobel — this summer.
Asked how she got involved with Cooper, Strauss told GuitarWorld.com: "Kip Winger was the one who actually connected the dots. We met each other on the Monsters Of Rock cruise, where he saw me play. He later heard through the grapevine that Alice was looking for someone, so he sent them a few links and videos of me performing. I was then introduced to Shep Gordon [Cooper's manager] and Bob Ezrin [Cooper's producer] who sent me over a few tracks to learn and from there. Everything just seemed to fall into place. I'm so honored and excited to be a part of this project. It's hard to put into words."
Regarding what it was like when she first met Alice, Nita said: "I first met Alice in L.A. when he was recording some material for his new album. Ezrin called and asked me if I'd like to come down to the studio and meet him. So I went down and got to sit in the studio for Alice's recording session. He's such a cool guy. The whole experience was pretty incredible."
Strauss also spoke about Cooper's upcoming road trek, which will see Alice's band supporting MÖTLEY CRÜE on the latter act's "The Final Tour". "For the tour, we'll be doing 72 cities beginning with a few warmup shows in Michigan and then joining up with the CRÜE on July 2," she said. "We have a little break in September and then go back out until mid-November."
Asked if she feels added pressure being in a three-guitar band situation, Strauss said: "I come from a band that played IRON MAIDEN songs, so the multi-guitar-player thing isn't something that's really new to me. By the same token, these are iconic songs and I really want to make sure that I do them justice." 17
