BLACKWATER has announced the release of their first single for ‘Waste Away’ from their forthcoming EP River. The single is one of seven songs to be featured on the summer record set for release on May 23rd.
“The reason for changing to an EP release this summer instead of our debut album is that we have written a lot of songs and we didn’t want to scrap anything. These songs in particular didn’t quite fit with the other 11 songs that have made the record, but they all seem to work together and follow a theme we really liked. The Argentine prog metal band INNVEIN is promoting their first album, to present some of the work; the group released a new lyric video.

The selected song is the fifth track of the album Timeless, ‘Dead Flowers’, released late in the second half of last year in digital format and has just been released in physical format.
Timeless was recorded, mixed and mastered at studio Absolute in Buenos Aires and features a brand of progressive metal squashed into heavy guitars, technique, alternating vocals and doses of symphonic music.

Styx's 10th album, the 1981 release, Paradise Theate' was the band's fourth consecutive triple-platinum album. NEVERWAKE has signed a multi-album deal with US label Melodic Revolution Records.

NeverWake covers a lot of ground between rock and metal and have been described as blend of BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE and TRIVIUM. The bands sophomore album SleepWalker is an epic album crafted at Innovation Studios with producer and engineer Mike Ofca and mastered under legendary engineer Ted Jensen at Sterling Sound.

Their style is a sinew of melodic vocals and dark guitar harmonies overtop a heavily distorted foundation. Through breakdowns and shredding leads underneath an eerie Burtonesque theme, they strive to unite the genres they cover. SleepWalker is an amplification of NeverWake’s haunting sound, immersing the listener into a sea of instrumental complexity, including faster riffs, technical drum patterns and harmonized melodic vocals.
This is the first step into NeverWake’s semi-conceptual series of albums. Unlike most concept albums, the music can be felt and understood regardless of knowing the underlying story. SABBATH ASSEMBLY is presenting the latest video for the track ‘Lucifer’ from their recently released third album, Quaternity, out now on Svart Records. Directed by Lara Miranda in Oakland, California, the video features the actors Nils Frykdahl (of Sleepytime Gorilla Museum) and Audra Wolfmann.
The ‘Lucifer’ hymn was transmitted directly from a member of the '70s spiritual-psycho religious cult The Process Church Of The Final Judgment. This member, Anthony D’Andrea, demoed the hymn for the band via telephone from Boston, MA. A snippet of this recording can be heard at the top of the track, followed by a gorgeous interpretation sung by Daron Beck of PINKISH BLACK.

Sabbath Assembly has also announced its upcoming dates for the Idols & Altars European Tour, May 3rd-17th, with fellow doom-warriors UZULA. The band will be performing songs from all three of its albums, with a special focus on the most recent, Quaternity. The Pleiona EP will also be fulfilled by keyboards and piano killer parts played by Nate Rendon, which will add a new dimension to the already melodic side of I Legion.

German doom metallers MIRROR OF DECEPTION announce their new lineup with the following statement:
"Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome our new band members Hans Schwager (bass, vocals) and Matthias Siffermann (drums). We have a long history with both of them so this feels very good and natural.

Matthias is the younger brother of our vocalist/ guitarist Siffi, he was present during the very first Mirror Of Deception rehearsals, helped us out a couple of times throughout the years and has been known as the drummer for END OF GREEN since the early 1990s. From now on he will play in both bands.

Hans is a long time friend, has been playing with Siffi in the metal cover band GRAND FINAL STAND for years and had his own band ANIMAL ZERO.

Chapel, NC experimental artisan HORSEBACK has released a music video for the track 'Inheritance (The Changeling)'. Beautifully filmed by Daniel Davison during the 2013 demolition of Edison High School in Philadelphia, PA, the video perfectly captures the songs bleak, haunting mood. The track is taken from Horseback's full-length, Half Blood, which was released by Relapse Records and can be streamed in full here.

Additionally, Horseback recently released a new full-length, entitled Piedmont Apocrhypha, via Three Lobed Recordings. Steeped in folk and Americana, Piedmont Apocrhypha still retains Horseback's signature black metal, drone and ambient qualities, but is perhaps multi-instrumentalist Jenks Miller's most accessible outing to date.

Minnesota power metal masters NOBLE BEAST have announced the addition of Andrew Rasmussen as new drummer for the band.

While he is primarily known for his work in black metal band ASTRAL BLOOD, Andrew is excited to be working with the band. He had the following to say about his new role:

"I’m very excited to be joining Noble Beast as their full time drummer. I have spent many years of my life always playing in more black metal type bands so needless to say I was pretty skeptical at first when Rob had originally told me they were searching for a full time drummer. DEADLOCK are set to issue a special release via Lifeforce Records, the old partners in crime back together one more time.
Deadlock currently under the regime of main song writer Sebastian Reichl, have locked into their very own Slaughter’s Palace studios to work on this special fan release, which is going to see the light at the band’s Summer Breeze Festival appearance in August. The album is going to contain final Deadlock recordings with founding member Tobias Graf, who due to his business duties had to be replaced by long year friend Werner Riedl, who will be heard on the new output as well.

Heavy metal cultists CASTLE will release their third album, Under Siege, on May 16th via Van Records in Europe and May 20th via Prosthetic Records in North America. The album track 'Pyramid Lake' can be heard below.

The album, which was recorded at Sharkbite Studios in Oakland, CA with producer/mixer Billy Anderson (CATHEDRAL, SLEEP, NEUROSIS), features the below cover artwork from Russian symbolic painter Denis Forkas Kostromitin (BEHEMOTH), with whom the band previously collaborated with on their Juno-nominated 2012 release Blacklands.

While holding onto their darkened and sophisticated classic metal roots, Castle further develops their sound with each of the eight tracks of Under Siege by adding punishing riffs and hauntingly melodic passages complimented by Liz Blackwell's full blooded vocals. London-based five-piece ZOAX, the project from Joe Copcutt (bassist for supergroup AXEWOUND and original bassist for RISE TO REMAIN), have released a new video, for the track 'Jekyll Meets Hyde', featured on their debut EP, XIII, released February 17th via Siege Of Amida Records. The EP was recorded and produced by Derya “Dez” Nagle of Black Bear Productions, and mastered at Spectre Mastering Studios.
