SHINEDOWN's BRENT SMITH And ZACH MYERS Perform BON JOVI's 'Wanted Dead Or Alive' (Video)According to The Pulse Of Radio, SHINEDOWN singer Brent Smith and guitarist Zach Myers will release four more acoustic cover songs on March 18, including their take on BON JOVI's classic ballad "Wanted Dead Or Alive", for which the duo have just released a new video (see below). The four tracks were originally part of an album called "(Acoustic Sessions)", but did not get certain permissions in time from the original artists, forcing the six other tunes to be issued as an EP. The four additional songs, which also include covers of ADELE's "Someone Like You", PEARL JAM's "Black" and PHIL COLLINS' "In The Air Tonight" will come out under the title "(Acoustic Sessions, Pt. 2)".
Each of the songs was recorded in a single take. Smith told Billboard that he and Myers "are so excited that finally all 10 cover songs are available for the world."
The first six covers was released in January and included songs from THE CLASH, OTIS REDDING, METALLICA, SOUL ASYLUM, KENNY WAYNE SHEPHERD and THE BLACK CROWES.
"(Acoustic Sessions)" made news last fall when it was reported that BON JOVI was not allowing SMITH & MYERS to release their version of "Wanted Dead Or Alive". The issue, Smith told Billboard.com, was that BON JOVI and three others — PHIL COLLINS ("In the Air Tonight"), ADELE ("Someone Like You") and PEARL JAM ("Black") — did not approve of SHINEDOWN's plan to post the videos online and effectively give the performances away. "Some of the artists were cool with letting us put (the videos up) and some weren't, and that's totally their decision," Smith explained to Billboard.com. "The six songs [we released first] are the ones that have videos with them, then [we went] back and re-record[ed] the other four songs."
He added: "We didn't write these songs. We did this for the audience and for the fans, and we know it's something they're gonna dig."
SHINEDOWN is also in the early stages of recording its fifth album, the follow-up to 2012's "Amaryllis". The sessions will be filmed for an accompanying documentary.

DEFTONES Singer CHINO MORENO's CROSSES: 'The Epilogue' Video Released"The Epilogue", the new video from ††† (CROSSES) — DEFTONES frontman Chino Moreno's project with FAR guitarist Shaun Lopez — can be seen below. The song comes off ††† (CROSSES)'s self-titled full-length debut, which was released on February 11 via Sumerian Records. The CD includes the songs from ††† (CROSSES)'s two previously released EPs — 2011's "†" and 2012's "††", along with five new tracks.
In a recent interview with RollingStone.com, Moreno stated about ††† (CROSSES)'s sound: "By listening to the music, you can tell that a lot of the influences come from the new-wave era. That was basically the scene that I came up on. I just happened to wind up in a metal band when I was 15. I've always had a deep passion for a lot of early electronic and sampled music."
Asked about ††† (CROSSES)'s heavy use of the cross in the band's imagery and songtitles, Moreno said: "I think a lot of bands are influenced by religious symbolism and not even necessarily Christianity or Catholicism. Our band definitely doesn't follow any of those. It's more of the aesthetic. The art, the way it works. The initial name of the band was going to be HOLY GHOST. But at the last minute, another band came out with the name, so Shaun suggested CROSSES. It's a very strong symbol. Three crosses is great. It's great to look at, there's three of us in the band."
††† (CROSSES) made its live debut in January 2012 at The Glass House in Pomona, California.

LACUNA COIL: 'Broken Crown Halo' Album Trailer AvailableThe official trailer for "Broken Crown Halo", the new studio album from Italian heavy rockers LACUNA COIL, can be seen below. Due in North America on April 1 (one day earlier internationally) via Century Media Records, the CD was recorded Italy by producer Jay Baumgardner (P.O.D., SEVENDUST, EVANESCENCE, PAPA ROACH) and engineer Kyle Hoffmann (P.O.D., BUSH, ZEBRAHEAD). The effort was mastered by Howie Weinberg, whose credits include RAMMSTEIN, SOUNDGARDEN, NIRVANA, DEFTONES and SHERYL CROW.
"Broken Crown Halo" is LACUNA COIL's seventh studio effort, and the highly-anticipated follow-up to "Dark Adrenaline", which was released in January 2012 and saw the band tour with acts including MEGADETH, MOTÖRHEAD, VOLBEAT and SEVENDUST after debuting at No. 15 on The Billboard 200 album chart.
"Broken Crown Halo" track listing:
01. Nothing Stands In Our Way02. Zombies 03. Hostage To The Light 04. Victims 05. Die & Rise 06. I Forgive (But I Won't Forget Your Name)07. Cybersleep 08. Infection 09. I Burn In You10. In The End I Feel Alive11. One Cold Day
LACUNA COIL last month hit the road as a quintet as part of "The Hottest Chicks In Hard Rock Tour" following the departures of guitarist Cris "Pizza" Migliore and drummer Cristiano "Criz" Mozzati. Marco "Maus" Biazzi is handling all guitar duties on the trek while drummer Ryan Blake Folden is once again sitting behind the kit. The band states: "Fans will already be familiar with Ryan, as he performed live with LACUNA COIL on the majority of the 2012 and 2013 'Dark Legacy' and 'Dark Adrenaline' tours."
Regarding the departures of Migliore and Mozzati, LACUNA COIL singer Cristina Scabbia told U.K.'s Metal Hammer: "It's something we announced [in mid-Febraury] but knew for a few weeks, and honestly, I feel good, because we couldn't have a better — I don't even wasn't to use the word ‘split'; that sounds like, 'Oh, we had a big fight and we don't want to see each other anymore,' she said.
"It was something that was coming from the heart, very sincere. They just decided they wanted to change their lives. It's not like they didn't like the band anymore, but this lifestyle is not easy. You're on tour all the time, you don't have any private life anymore.
"Being on tour is really surreal, because time moves in a different way, so I think it's absolutely normal that after so many years together, some of us want to carry on doing what we do because we still enjoy it, and some of us would want to move on, keeping the great memories we have together. I mean, they're not planning to join other bands. It's not going to be a huge difference, because we will have the same songwriter, and we are determined to go on. So I'm sad that they're leaving, but we will continue seeing each other outside the band. They are happy, we are happy, everyone is happy."
She continued: "The drums [on the U.S. tour] will be played by Ryan Folden, who played with us for the last year while Criz was at home growing up his kid. And for guitar, we are going on with Marco only, and then we will decide.
"It's too early to think about replacements, and we don't even know if we want that. We might work with session musicians for a while, because even if we are serene and happy, it's hard for us, because we lost two brothers, so we don't want anyone to come into the family just like that. It would be wise, I think, just to go on with us four and then move on with friends like Ryan, who is a great drummer and very easy to get along with. And that's an important factor, because if you're going to share a tour bus with people, you have to be able to get along with them!"
The Revolver-magazine-presented "The Hottest Chicks In Hard Rock Tour kicked off February 20 and features LACUNA COIL sharing a stage with SICK PUPPIES, Century Media Records labelmates EYES SET TO KILL and CILVER. The tour launched in Wilmington, North Carolina, and runs through March 20 in Anaheim, California.

ASPHYX Parts Ways With Drummer, Announces ReplacementDrummer Bob Bagchus has left Dutch doom death metal legends ASPHYX in order to spend more time with his family. His duties will be taken over by Stefan Hüskes, who is a longtime friend of the band. The group states: "We wish Bob and his family all the best. Thanks for the great years of brutality, doom and death!" Bob adds: "I'd like to thank all of our fans worldwide for the great, great support and dedication!"
ASPHYX's latest album, "Deathhammer", entered the German Media Control chart at position No. 67. The CD was released on February 27, 2012 in Europe and February 28, 2012 in North America via Century Media Records.
The "Deathhammer" video can be seen below. The clip was filmed by Maurice Swinkels of Younique Film, who had previously worked with the band on the bonus DVD for the "Death...The Brutal Way" album as well as on clips for such other groups as EXODUS, MASTERPLAN and KATAKLYSM.

CHEVELLE: 'Hunter Eats Hunter' Song Available For Streaming"Hunter Eats Hunter", a brand new song from CHEVELLE, can be streamed below. The track is taken from the band's seventh studio album, titled "La Gárgola", which will be released on April 1. The disc was recorded in Pasadena, California instead of the band's usual spot in their hometown of Chicago, and follows up 2011's "Hats Off To The Bull".
The "La Gárgola" cover, which can be found below, features a dark figure wearing a buttoned up coat and a beak-like mask worn by plague doctors back in the days.
"La Gárgola" track listing: 01. Ouija Board02. An Island03. Take Out The Gunman04. Jawbreaker05. Hunter Eats Hunter06. One Ocean07. Choking Game08. The Damned09. Under The Knife10. Twinge
Drummer Sam Loeffler explained the group's sound to Loudwire Reloaded, saying: "At the end of the day I think we sound like our band without trying to sound like somebody else, and that's important. But at the same time you hope your music evolves. To me, it does evolve, but it's still melodic hard rock music which is what inspires us to want to write."
The first single, "Take Out The Gunman", addresses the issues of guns and mass shootings, but Loeffler says it's also about more than that. "It is hitting a little close to home," he tells The Pulse Of Radio. "However, certainly it's about that but the real point is about how the media sensationalizes it and how it perpetuates it, because we talk about it so much and concentrate on it so much, which is — when you put something on television, it just becomes bigger than life and then, you know, the age-old question is, if you don't put it on TV and nobody knows about it, will it happen less? I don't know."
The official lyric video for "Take Out The Gunman" can be seen below.
The trio will head out on the road for a headlining tour with MIDDLE CLASS RUT and OH BROTHER, beginning on April 4.
The group is also scheduled to make appearances at the Rock On The Range and Welcome To Rockville festivals in April and May.

WOLVHAMMER Recording Third AlbumMidwestern black/death rock nihilists WOLVHAMMER are currently deep in the process of laying down the tracks that are to become the band's third LP, due this summer via Profound Lore. Occupying Hideaway Studio in Minneapolis, Minnesota, WOLVHAMMER is tracking its full-length follow-up to 2011's "The Obsidian Plains" with Dan Jensen at the soundboard, with eight new tracks penned for the as-yet-untitled CD. Guitarist Jeff Wilson stated about the recording process, "Just waking up on what is day five of recording for LP #3... fortunately for myself, not hung over today. We finished up all of the drums/auxiliary percussion last night, which means we'll be knocking out guitars and bass for the next three days or so. Wrapping it up on Wednesday and shipping it off to be mastered. This one is definitely going to come out of left field for some of those familiar with our other material. Be forewarned." In addition to Wilson, also of ABIGAIL WILLIAMS, CHROME WAVES, DOOMSDAY, ex-NACHTMYSTIUM and more, WOLVHAMMER is comprised of drummer Heath Rave (ex-ACROSS TUNDRAS), bassist Joe Noel (ex-SAMOTHRACE, ex-ALTAR OF PLAGUES) vocalist Adam Clemans (SHAIDAR LOGOTH) and guitarist Brendan Seven. Following several independent releases, their "Black Marketeers Of World War III" debut LP was released by Init Records in 2011, catching the attention of Profound Lore, who brought the band onto the label's roster for the release of their critically acclaimed follow-up LP, "The Obsidian Plains", that same year. The band also released a split covers EP with THE ATLAS MOTH in 2013. Upon its completion, details on the new album's official summer release date and more will be unveiled in the coming weeks. WOLVHAMMER will, of course, take to the highways in support of the release over the coming months with a U.S. tour already being devised in conjunction with its street date.

DIR EN GREY - Tour13 Ghoul DVD/Blu-Ray Trailer ReleasedJapan's DIR EN GREY recently announced the release of their fourth video documentary, Tour13 Ghoul, on April 23rd on DVD and Blu-ray. Check out the official trailer below:
According to a recent band update: "It features their domestic headlining tour beginning at Yokohama Blitz on September 18, 2013, where Kyo revealed his self-created, skull-like make-up that gave him the appearance of a ghoul starved for human flesh. The tour's stage production invited audiences into the world of Dir En Grey, while the band followed their instincts and laid themselves bare for the crowds. The documentary also includes their month-long American tour, from the fatal shooting at LAX on November 1 for which Dir En Grey were present, to the looming possibility of cancelling shows due to a tour bus breakdown.
The three months of filming captures on video anxiety about their new challenges, unimaginable realities, and a ray of hope at the end of hardship. Why take the stage? This is the film that documents the five members who repeatedly ponder this unanswerable question and fight their way through difficulty. Don't miss their words and feelings from the inside."
