U.K. metal quintet HEART OF A COWARD has just launched a lyric video for the song "Nauseam", taken off their upcoming album, "Severance", that is due to be released November 12 in North America via Century Media Records.

Comments HEART OF A COWARD frontman Jamie Graham: "'Nauseam' revolves around the concept of something we all see every day within every social circle: people exhausting every opportunity given and burning every bridge they built... one day they wake to realize no one wants anything to do with them and they are now despite by those whose opinions they hold so dear. Try too hard to be loved and you end up hated, in other words...!" The instrumental parts for "Severance" were recorded with Acle Kahney (also in TESSERACT) at his 4D Studios in Brighton while the vocals were tracked with Justin Hill at Fortress Studios in London. The album was mixed at Machine Shop in New Jersey by Will Putney (SUICIDE SILENCE, THY ART IS MURDER). HEART OF A COWARD is already busy scheduling various live activities, first of which will be their own headlining tour throughout the U.K. with support coming from THE CHARM THE FURY and MALEVOLENCE.

CADAVERIA — the Italian band featuring former OPERA IX vocalist Cadaveria and ex-OPERA IX drummer/NECRODEATH vocalist Marçelo Santos (a.k.a. Flegias) — will release its first retrospective DVD, "Karma", on October 22 via Scarlet Records. The double-disc set will live and backstage video material, unreleased interviews and much more, spanning the band's entire career, for a total running time of two hours and 40 minutes.

CADAVERIA's "Death Vision" video can be seen below. The song comes off CADAVERIA's fourth album, "Horror Metal", which was released on January 31, 2012 via Bakerteam Records, a division of Scarlet Records.

The group's long-awaited follow-up 2007's "In Your Blood" (released on French extreme metal label Season Of Mist) has been described by Cadaveria as "the most obscure, raw and horror-filled work ever produced by the group."

"I Am", a brand new song from American progressive metallers FATES WARNING, can be streamed below. The track comes off the band's eleventh studio album, "Darkness In A Different Light", which will be released on September 27 via InsideOut Music. Featuring founding guitarist Jim Matheos alongside classic-lineup members Ray Alder (vocals) and Frank Aresti (guitar), longtime bassist Joey Vera and drummer Bobby Jarzombek, the CD was produced by Matheos and mixed by longtime FATES WARNING engineer Phil Magnotti. The effort was mastered by Maor Appelbaum (YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, SEPULTURA, ANVIL) at Maor Appelbaum Mastering in California. The cover artwork was designed by Conte di San Pietro.

In addition to the standard CD jewel case and the digital download format, "Darkness In A Different Light" will be available in Europe as 2CD mediabook edition and as gatefold 2LP version (180-gram vinyl in black, red or white vinyl) with four bonus tracks.

Regarding the song "Firefly", Alder said: "'Firefly' is very personal to me in more ways than one....

"After I had written the melody for this song, I knew immediately what the title was going to be, as well as the subject; it just fit the mood.

"As for the subject, I'm pretty sure we've all felt this way at one time or another.

"Sometimes things just don't work out the way you think they would, but that's okay, that's part of life... We move on. Ironically, while recording 'Firefly' in New Hampshire, I was outside the studio late one night, and there they were, floating through the trees in the forest! I hadn't seen a single firefly for at least fifteen years since I had left my hometown of San Antonio, Texas, so I kinda took it as a sign. A sign of what, I don't know... But very ironic nonetheless..."

On the topic of "Darkness In A Different Light" as a whole, Alder said: "'Darkness In A Different Light' is the result of almost two years of very hard work from everyone in the band.

"I believe that this lineup is the best that FATES WARNING has ever had, and I also think that it comes through in the music on this album.

"It's been almost nine years since our last studio album and I couldn't be more proud of what we've accomplished here.

"We are looking very much forward to playing some new songs for our fans who have stuck by us over all these years.

"We plan on touring as much as possible for 'Darkness In A Different Light' and hopefully we'll hit a few places we've never been."

FATES WARNING will embark on a North American tour in November. The trek will launch November 15 in Joliet, Illinois and wrap December 14 in Seattle, Washington. The "Parallels" lineup of FATES WARNING played a number of shows in 2010 in support of the released special edition of the album, which was made available through Metal Blade Records. In addition to remastered audio, there is a second audio disc of live and demo material. The package also includes a DVD with nearly three hours of material, including a complete live show from the 1992 "Parallels" tour and a documentary on the making of "Parallels" which includes live, studio, and current day interview footage with all the band members, Terry Brown (producer) and Brian Slagel (CEO of Metal Blade Records).

FATES WARNING's last CD, "X", was released in 2004 on Metal Blade Records. The follow-up to 2000's "Disconnected" was recorded at Carriage House studios in Stamford, Connecticut and features cover artwork by renowned record-cover artist Ioannis (DREAM THEATER, SEPULTURA, DEEP PURPLE, BLUE ÖYSTER CULT, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, KING CRIMSON, BIOHAZARD, VOIVOD, UFO, OVERKILL).

To coincide with the release of their self-titled, eighth studio album, Norwegian black metallers SATYRICON played a very special, exclusive show this past Sunday night (September 8) at at Den Norske Opera & Ballett in Oslo, Norway, where they were joined by the 55-strong Norwegian National Opera Chorus as part of the Ultima Oslo Contemporary Music Festival.

SATYRICON new, self-titled studio album was released on September 9 in Norway via Indie Recordings, and in the rest of Europe through Roadrunner Records. The CD, which will be made available on September 17 in North America via Nuclear Blast Entertainment, was produced by Sigurd "Satyr" Wongraven and was recorded in Norway, and mixed by Adam Kasper. The effort features a guest appearance by Sivert Høyem, the Norwegian singer best known as the vocalist of the rock band MADRUGADA.

CONVULSE has announced November 1st as the release date for their new album, Evil Prevails, to be released internationally by Svart Records. Evil Prevails will be released on CD, LP, and digital formats, and follows Convulse's comeback EP, Inner Evil, released earlier this year by Svart. Led by guitarist and growler Rami Jämsä with original bass player Juha Telenius and newer recruits Kristian Kangasniemi (guitar) and Rolle Markos (drums), Convulse spent the whole of August locked away in an old-fashioned analog studio, recording what was to become Evil Prevails. Rami Jämsä describes the album as a "fascinating combination of old-school death metal, lightning-fast thrashing parts, some blastbeats here and there, and even ultra-slow doom elements. The Convulse of the year 2013 is heavier and meaner than ever before. This album is a rebirth as much as it is continuation of the old-school spirit.”

Finland's foremost vinyl peddlers Svart Records will release the album on November 1st on CD, gatefold LP, and digitally as well. The album cover is a striking new painting by Luxi Lahtinen, the man responsible for many a memorable piece of art in the early '90s death metal scene. Having just played large genre festivals such as Maryland Deathfest and Killtown Deathfest, Convulse are gearing up for more live appearances, of which there will be more news published in the coming weeks.

Ulterium Records has announced the signing of the Italian symphonic metal band SLEEPING ROMANCE. The group's debut album, "Enlighten", will be released on November 1 in Europe and December 3 in North America. The CD was mastered by Roberto Priori (DANGER ZONE, VISION DIVINE) and the artwork was created by Felipe Machado Franco (BLIND GUARDIAN, RHAPSODY OF FIRE, ICED EARTH).

Featuring the emotional vocals of Federica Lanna and the epic songwriting of guitar player Federico Truzzi, SLEEPING ROMANCE creates something really exciting together that should appeal to fans in the scene.

SLEEPING ROMANCE will tour Europe with THEOCRACY in November.

Inner Wound Recordings has announced the signing of the Swedish power metal band PERSUADER. The group's new album, "The Fiction Maze", will be released late 2013/early 2014.

PERSUADER was formed in Umeå, Sweden 1997, and has thus far released three albums: "The Hunter" (2000), "Evolution Purgatory" (2004) and "When Eden Burns" (2006).
