BROKEN HOPE: 'Omen Of Disease' Cover Artwork UnveiledReformed Chicago death metallers BROKEN HOPE will release their sixth album, "Omen Of Disease", in October via Century Media Records. The drums for the CD were laid down at Belle City Sound in Racine, Wisconsin with engineer Chris Wisco (LAZARUS A.D., JUNGLE ROT, ORIGIN, GORGASM), while the remaining instruments were tracked at Mercenary Digital Studios in Zion, Illinois with engineer Scott Creekmore (DIRGE WITHIN, PUTRID PILE, LIVIDITY).
"Omen Of Disease" will feature a special guest appearance by Trevor Strnad of THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER on the new BROKEN HOPE track "Rendered Into Lard". The cover painting for the CD was created by world-renowned horror artist Wes Benscoter (SLAYER, CATTLE DECAPITATION, AUTOPSY, KREATOR).
Comments BROKEN HOPE guitarist Jeremy Wagner: "Wes Benscoter is one of my favorite artists, EVER. In my opinion, he's right up there with Frank Frazetta, Michael Whelan and Todd Schorr.
"Ever since Benscoter did our 'Repulsive Conception' and 'Loathing' album covers, I've wanted to work with him again. I was beyond thrilled when Benscoter agreed to take on the 'Omen Of Disease' project… and he nailed it! He's captured the vile essence, putrid vibe, and apocalyptic, disease-laden horror of 'Omen Of Disease'.
"Thank you for creating another masterpiece, Wes Benscoter."
BROKEN HOPE tapped James Murphy (DEATH, OBITUARY, TESTAMENT) to mix and master "Omen Of Disease" at Murphy's studio, Safehouse Production.
"Omen Of Disease" — a title conceived by chief lyricist and guitarist Jeremy Wagner — is also a song on the new album, marking the first BROKEN HOPE "title track" since their 1991 debut LP, "Swamped In Gore". Other songtitles set to appear on the CD include "The Flesh Mechanic" and "Give Me The Bottom Half".
Comments Wagner: "Some time ago, a festering death metal prophecy indicated something sick and brutal was coming back from the dead. The malignant signs became evident when BROKEN HOPE first resurrected from the grave and then went on tour. A more sinister foreboding followed when BROKEN HOPE wrote a new death metal album for the world to hear. Today, I'm a harbinger, here to alert everyone of a 'death metal omen' that is upon us...I speak of the new BROKEN HOPE album, 'Omen Of Disease'. The album title itself reeks of a musical offering that is nothing short of gruesome. 'Omen Of Disease' will be released to infect everyone worldwide this summer. I promise: this death metal album is a most savage, feral, pestilential, and lethal creation. You've been warned..."
BROKEN HOPE was formed in 1988 by Wagner, while he was in high school. Shortly after formation, they recorded two demo tapes and signed with indie label, Grind-Core Records. Then in 1991, they released their debut album, "Swamped In Gore", launching the band out of the underground and into the mainstream. From there, the band signed to Metal Blade Records and released three more albums, all stellar examples of BROKEN HOPE's fury, which etched their place in death-metal history.
After BROKEN HOPE's last album (1999's "Grotesque Blessings") and world tours, Wagner cleaned house and put BROKEN HOPE into "metal hibernation" in 2000. On January 20, 2010, original BROKEN HOPE vocalist Joe Ptacek tragically committed suicide. He was only 37 years old. Before his death, Ptacek met with Wagner and Glass and discussed the resurrection of BROKEN HOPE. With Ptacek's death, Wagner and Glass took time off to reconsider their next moves.
In 2012, BROKEN HOPE signed with Hard Impact Management and vowed to make BROKEN HOPE a full-time monster. Wagner and Glass recruited longtime friend and GORGASM vocalist Damian Leski as their new frontman and shortly after marked their return on the highly successful Carnival Of Death tour. BROKEN HOPE's high-intensity concerts received top praise, and confirmed the band was back and more rabid than ever.
BROKEN HOPE 2013 is:
Damian Leski - Vocals
Jeremy Wagner - Guitars
Shaun Glass - Bass
Chuck Wepfer - Lead Guitars
Mike Miczek - Drums 3

ORBWEAVER To Release New EP This WeekMiami psychedelic noise conjurers ORBWEAVER are readying the release of their "Strange Transmissions From The Neuralnomicon" EP. A maniacal journey through modulating realities, the five-track mind eraser was recorded at Miami's Pinecrust Studios with Jonathan Nunez of TORCHE at the controls and mixed/mastered with Brian Elliott at Mana Recording Studios (HATE ETERNAL, CANNIBAL CORPSE, GOATWHORE, EXHUMED).
ORBWEAVER's tones spiral through the realms of psychedelia, noise, and a warped interpretation of death metal. Fluctuating between these erratic, trance-like elements, the foursome produce an eclectic sonic ruckus reminiscent of a Zappa-esque brand of controlled chaos.
"Strange Transmissions From The Neuralnomicon" will be unleashed August 2 in a limited run of 100 cassette tapes via Primitive Violence Records and on CD direct through the band.
"Strange Transmissions From The Neuralnomicon" track listing:
01. Xoxotic
02. Those Of Non-Being
03. Crystal Prisms
04. Tragic Orbit: A Doomed Cosmic Starship
05. The Church Warden Procedure
Fittingly dubbed "deranged, psychedelic death metal hurdling through space at speeds that make The Millennium Falcon look like your little sister's moped," by Orlandooom.com and, "a dissonant, warped interpretation of technical death metal, spliced with sheer blasts of chaotic noise and a mangled black-metal influence that claws its way to the surface halfway through," by Saltyeggs.com, ORBWEAVER was forged in 2010 by guitarist/vocalist Randy Piro (ex-HATE ETERNAL, GIGAN) and drummer Mike Pena. Together they recorded a self-titled, three-song demo. Shortly after, lead guitarist Sally Gates (ex-GIGAN) and bassist Jason Ledgard joined the fold. Mike Pena parted ways with the group in 2013, and was replaced by drummer/percussionist Scott Spasiano.
Coinciding with the unveiling of "Strange Transmissions From The Neuralnomicon", ORBWEAVER will bring its cosmic pandemonium to the live front on a short run of dates through the Sunshine State. Set to commence at Churchill's Pub in Miami on August 2, the band will twist the sound waves of Orlando, St. Petersburg, Jacksonville and Lake worth with addition dates being scheduled through the fall.
ORBWEAVER is:
Randy Piro - Guitars/Vocals/Effects
Sally Gates - Lead Guitar
Jason Ledgard - Bass
Scott Spasiano - Drums

THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA: '8:18' Track Listing, Cover Artwork RevealedRoadrunner Records has set a September 17 release date for "8:18", the long-awaited new album from the Dayton, Ohio Christian metalcore band THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA.
THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA officially unveiled the start of pre-orders for "8:18" with a direct video invitation to their fans around the world, streaming now at their official YouTube channel. All pre-orders at tdwpband.com receive instant free MP3 downloads of two new tracks, "Home For Grave" and "Martyrs". Pre-orders are also available now on the iTunes store.
"Martyrs", the first track/video from "8:18", had its premiere earlier today exclusively via RollingStone.com. Produced by THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA, the clip was shot and edited by the band's own Jeremy DePoyster and Andy Trick.
Furthermore, THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA have announced details of an upcoming North American headline tour. "The 8:18 Tour", which will see the band accompanied by THE GHOST INSIDE, VOLUMES and TEXAS IN JULY, gets underway November 2 in Detroit at the Royal Oak Music Theatre and continues through December 20, wrapping in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Tickets for all dates will be on sale August 2. Singer Mike Hranica commented: "We've loved playing two new songs over the course of this year, and with that being said we're really excited to debut more material live. For me, '8:18' is meant to reflect a live sense of vocals, so doing another headline tour like this is going to be excellent."
Long acclaimed as among one of the most potent and provocative bands in modern American metal, THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA made a massive leap forward with the stunning "8:18". The album — executive-produced by KILLSWITCH ENGAGE's Adam Dutkiewicz and produced by the band along with producer/engineer Matt Goldman (UNDEROATH, THE CHARIOT) — sees the group driving its relentless sonic approach with more might than ever before, giving extreme power to frontman Mike Hranica's grim, emotional lyricism.
"8:18" track listing:
01. Gloom
02. Rumors
03. First Sight
04. War
05. 8:18
06. Sailor’s Prayer
07. Care More
08. Martyrs
09. Black & Blue
10. Transgress
11. Number Eleven
12. Home for Grave
13. In Heart
Asked how the new effort compares to 2011's "Dead Throne", Mike Hranica told Music Feeds: "I think it's kind of a totally new animal. It definitely is a very cohesive record. A lot of the times, I feel like we'll write songs and a lot of them are really cool songs and they'll all have kind of a theme, but sometimes they stray from that path of the theme that we originally intended. And I think that this album as a whole, it all sounds like the album, it all is a cohesive idea. Which, don't get me wrong — I don't mean to say that all the songs sound the same, because they definitely, each has their own unique personality. But as far as 'Dead Throne', our progression from 'Dead Throne', I definitely do think that this album is just a more mature record and has a lot more thought put into it. As always — we're always gonna put a little bit more effort and thought into the new record than our previous effort."
Back in January, Hranica told Loudwire about the songwriting process for the new album: "For me, I definitely feel a little bit of a carry-over from 'Dead Throne', particularly because it was a very cool record for me learning, for me learning to write better and that was working with a new [producer] … working with Adam for the first time and having [A DAY TO REMEMBER's] Jeremy McKinnon working on some of the songs with us, and I feel I took a lot from that. On 'Dead Throne', there were better vocal parts and everything was more cohesive and understandable and made for better song structure and everything and that had had a big impact on me creatively and so it's definitely carried over into this."
He added: "Conceptually, the concepts of 'Dead Throne' didn't carry over. I feel like that would be repetitive and monotonous to keep going at the same subject matter, but obviously, it all comes from the same place and I can say that nothing got more happy or uplifting, really. So I think it's very much THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA, but also it's got a bit of freshness and originality to it and I think that even musically we started approaching the songs differently. Like, this song could be more like this and working off of a base we never really worked off of before."
"Dead Throne" sold 32,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 10 on The Billboard 200 chart. 1

MERIDIAN DAWN: 'Iconic' Lyric Video ReleasedThe official lyric video for the song "Iconic" from MERIDIAN DAWN, the new American / Finnish / Belgian melodic death metal band featuring vocalist Antony Hämäläinen (NERVOSIA, ex-NIGHTRAGE) and drummer Johan Nunez (FIREWIND, NIGHTRAGE, SUICIDE OF DEMONS), can be seen below. The clip was created and directed by Niklas Sundin of DARK TRANQUILLITY and Cabin Fever Media.
MERIDIAN DAWN is working on its self-titled debut album for a tentative late 2013/early 2014 release.
Hämäläinen, Nunez and guitarist Brandon Johnson recorded a plethora of demos from the summer of 2010 until the winter of 2013. The band's lineup was completed in late 2012 by bassist Nick Ziros (INTO THE MOAT, REMEMBERING NEVER) and guitarist Christopher Jon (ex-WHITE WIZZARD, REMEMBERING NEVER).
In January 2013, Johan entered Ear We Go Studio in Luxembourg with engineer François Dediste to record the drums for MERIDIAN DAWN's debut self-titled album.
In March 2013, the rest of the band constructed a studio at Hämäläinen's Arizona home to record the rest of the CD. After the sessions, the material was sent to producer Daniel Antonsson (DARK TRANQUILITY, DIMENSION ZERO, SOILWORK) for mixing and mastering at his Gothenburg Rock Studios in Gothenburg, Sweden.
The MERIDIAN DAWN track "Dressed In Ice", which features a guest appearance by Jake E. of AMARANTHE, can be streamed using the SoundCloud widget below.

NEWSTED: 'Long Time Dead' Song Available For Free Download"Long Time Dead", a brand new song from NEWSTED — the band featuring former METALLICA, VOIVOD and FLOTSAM AND JETSAM bassist Jason Newsted and STAIND guitarist Mike Mushok — is available for free download at Twitmusic.com. It can also be streamed below. The track comes off NEWSTED's debut album, "Heavy Metal Music", which will be released on August 6 in North America via Chophouse Records/Collective Sounds and August 5 in Europe through Spinefarm Records. Jason told Billboard.com the 11-song album will be very similar to the band's debut EP, "Metal", which sold around 6,200 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 62 on The Billboard 200 chart. "The EP was always intended to be the primer, a sampler of what was to come on the LP," he said. "It's all metal all the time. It's not all fast, but it is all heavy."
Regarding how the material for NEWSTED's debut album came together, Jason told Loudwire: "It started out as my seeds for the first eleven songs that I made on my GarageBand thing. I wrote all the tracks — guitars, bass, drums, everything and gave them to Jessie [Farnsworth, guitar] and Jesus [Mendez Jr., drums] and had them go learn it, put their artistry on it and so it was collaborative in that way for the first batch. Like the four songs on the EP came from that initial eleven, so that's how those songs went. Each day as we get deeper into the songs, the collaboration gets deeper as well. I have come a long way from my tunnel vision of 'Only my ideas are good enough' bullshit, and I'm a lot more open to everyone's ideas and the artistry of each person to make it what it is. And three heads is better than one and that kind of thing. So it has become more collaborative as we go. I've written ten more since that time in October last year and a few of them have made their way onto this LP now. Once again, they were all my seeds, but now that we have Mike Mushok in the band and I give the music to all three of those guys, now I have three great artists bringing back their responses and their counterpoint playing to my ideas, so it's becoming more and more collaborative every day and on this LP there will be shared writing credits on at least half of the songs with the writing credits now."
NEWSTED is taking part in this year's edition of Gigantour, the critically acclaimed package festival founded in 2005 by MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine. Also appearing on the bill are headliners MEGADETH, along with BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, DEVICE, HELLYEAH and DEATH DIVISION.
NEWSTED was forced to miss last week's Gigantour dates in Canada after Jason was diagnosed with "walking pneumonia." 1

IRON MAIDEN: More Behind-The-Scenes Footage From 'Maiden England World Tour 2013'A new 10-minute video clip featuring behind-the-scenes footage from IRON MAIDEN's "Maiden England World Tour 2013" can be seen below.
IRON MAIDEN last week landed at position No. 1 on Billboard.com 's "Hot Tours" list of top-grossing tours with $19 million in ticket sales from 14 performances in 13 cities on their summer tour of Europe. The shows were attended by a total of 259,298 fans, including a sellout crowd of 55,531 at a football stadium, Friends Arena, in the Stockholm suburb of Solna, Sweden. Also included was a sold-out concert on May 29 at Lisbon, Portugal's Pavilhão Atlântico.
IRON MAIDEN's August 3 show at London, England's O2 Arena (with a capacity of up to 20,000, depending on the event) sold out in just 12 minutes, so a second show was added on Sunday, August 4. This will definitely be the band's last U.K. show this year as soon after they head off for a few selected USA shows before a massive trip around Latin America, including headlining Rock In Rio and national stadiums in Mexico, Chile and Argentina.
MAIDEN's 15th studio CD, 2010's "The Final Frontier", featured 10 tracks that had an average running time of seven minutes and 40 seconds, with the shortest song, "The Alchemist", clocking in at four minutes and 29 seconds, and the longest, "When The Wild Wind Blows", lasting ten minutes and 59 seconds.
"The Final Frontier" sold 63,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to enter The Billboard 200 chart at position No. 4.
IRON MAIDEN's previous album, 2006's "A Matter Of Life And Death", opened with 56,000 units to land at No. 9. This was a notable increase from the 40,000 first-week tally registered by its predecessor, 2003's "Dance of Death" (which debuted at No. 18 on The Billboard 200 chart), and that of "Brave New World", which moved 38,000 copies in June 2000 to land at No. 39 on The Billboard 200 chart.
"The Final Frontier" was IRON MAIDEN's fourth U.K. No. 1 album. The band previously topped the chart in 1982 with "The Number of the Beast", in 1988 with "Seventh Son of a Seventh Son" and in 1992 with "Fear of the Dark". 5

NIGHTWISH: WACKEN OPEN AIR Performance To Be Filmed For DVD/Blu-Ray ReleaseNIGHTWISH's August 3 performance at the Wacken Open Air festival in Wacken, Germany will be professionally filmed for a concert DVD and Blu-ray, tentateively due next year.
Says NIGHTWISH mastermind and keyboardist Tuomas Holopainen: "The time has come soon to wrap up the magical & memorable one-and-a-half-year 'Imaginaerum World Tour' 2012-2013! We still have three shows left, one of them being at the legendary Wacken Open Air metal festival on the 3rd of August. This show will be something extra special, since it will be released later this year on DVD/Blu-ray, together with a massive 'Imaginaerum World Tour' 2012-2013 documentary. Our darling flying Dutchwoman, Floor Jansen, has been nothing but incredible during her time in NIGHTWISH on this tour, so this is a perfect opportunity to immortalize the current vibe of the band on film!"
In a recent interview with Ghost Cult Magazine, former AFTER FOREVER frontwoman and current REVAMP vocalist Floor Jansen — who has been performing with NIGHTWISH since last October as the band's touring singer — was asked if she would be willing to front NIGHTWISH permanently if she were asked to fill the slot.
"I've been asked to fill in for the current world tour and for a couple of festival dates, but what will happen after that is still unclear," she replied. "NIGHTWISH will take a break after the current touring cycle and they'll make a decision next year. Until then, everything is still up in the air."
She continued: "If they would ask me, I would be very flattered and I would love to do it. It will be a major overhaul in my life and my career as a singer, but then again, we're not rushing things.
"Both the guys in NIGHTWISH and I have experiences with previous band breakups and all emotions that come with it. It's almost like dating. Things feel good and it's going well, but we're not in a rush to tie the knot, so to speak."
Regarding how she looks back on her experiences as a stand-in singer for NIGHTWISH so far, Jansen said: "It's still too early for me to really reflect on the whole NIGHTWISH adventure, because there are still a couple of tour dates pending, including some summer festivals.
"What can I say? It's an incredible ride and it feels really good. Things went really well from day one. The timing was really awkward, because Annette Olzon just left the band and there wasn't really time to rehearse with the other NIGHTWISH members. Anxiety levels were running high, because replacing a female singer mid-tour is a hazardous experience, to say the least. They were running the gauntlet to make sure that none of the remaining tour dates had to be canceled. They were scared and so was I.
"Things went surprisingly well.
"It doesn't matter where you perform, YouTube will be plastered with movies of the gig the next day, so I really gave it my all. Everyone in the band and crew were really supportive and all the positive reactions and the warm acceptance by the NIGHTWISH fanbase was beyond my wildest dreams.
"Some people would rather see someone else fronting the band, but you can't please everyone."
Jansen made her live debut as the frontwoman of NIGHTWISH on October 1, 2012 at Showbox Sodo in Seattle, Washington following the abrupt departure of the band's lead singer of five years, Anette Olzon.
Holopainen has known Jansen for more than 10 years already, having previously toured with her former band, AFTER FOREVER.
Asked about the reasons for Olzon's sudden exit from the group, Tuomas told U.K.'s Metal Hammer magazine: "I'm sure it came as a shock to everybody. We came out with a statement [regarding the split], which pretty much says it all. It still is a private matter, and that's all we wanna say about it, like, ever. It was an amicable divorce, so to say, and made in good spirit, and we are just looking to the future. There really is no reason to go back into all the details and all that. I mean, this is not politics, this is a rock band."
Regarding whether there is a chance that Floor will become the official new NIGHTWISH lead singer, Tuomas said: "The way that we have decided is that we're gonna continue with her until the end of the festival season in 2013 — just have fun, just do the shows the best we can. I mean, the atmosphere in the band is so good at the moment, [we want to] just enjoy this what we have right now. They try not to think about NIGHTWISH at all for a few months. Everybody take a little vacation. And we already have the rehearsal place for the next album booked in 2014 — from July to September. So that's how far we have planned. But when we do the last festival show next August, after that, it's gonna be total nothing for a few months. So I would say everything is possible, but that's really not the thing that we want to be thinking about right now, because there's absolutely no reason to." 11

Van Williams - Drums
Gio Geraca - Guitar (session/touring member only)

ASHES OF ARES is a band which represents the culmination of experiences, trials and tribulations of its founding members. Within months of their departures from the iconic metal bands ICED EARTH and NEVERMORE, the trio came together with a renewed drive to create a sound which is a true collaboration of their personal influences, ideas and visions. Armed with the knowledge acquired through years of the writing, touring and recording cycle, and with the support of an army of loyal fans across the globe, ASHES OF ARES is poised to carve out a new legacy and stand alongside those who have helped pave the way.
In an October 2012 interview with Rocket Queen Promotion, Barlow stated about ASHES OF ARES' musical direction: "Well, most folks know what to expect from me, from my work with ICED EARTH and PYRAMAZE. So you take some of that and mix it with Van's brand of cadence and Freddie's riffage… blam-o….it's ASHES OF ARES!!! It's just straight-up heavy metal!"
Regarding the band's future plans, Barlow said: "The reason we are all doing this is for the love of music. We are metal guys and this is what we do. ASHES OF ARES live shows will be limited, but there will be live shows for fans, friends, and family to come to and enjoy with us. We really just want to create music that we enjoy and have that translate to our listeners."
ASHES OF ARES made its live debut on May 17 at the Rock Hard Festival at Amphitheater in Gelsenkirchen, Germany.

MANTICORA Parts Ways With GuitaristLead guitarist Martin Arendal has left Danish metallers MANTICORA for "personal" reasons.
Comments guitarist Kristian Larsen: "We (the remaining four members of the band), of course, respect [Martin's] decision, and even if we'll miss our buddy and will have to find a new guy — NOT an easy task, we should say, given Martin's talent and skills — we understand Martin's situation and we'll continue writing material as a four-piece so far.
"As it is, we're not actively looking for a new lead guitarist immediately, as we're mostly writing new material at the moment, but if you're a fantastically skilled guitarist and you feel that you have what it takes to replace Martin, feel free to contact us, and we'll check you out."
MANTICORA is working on material for its eighth full-length album. The band previously released seven CDs over an 11-year period, completes six European and one U.S. tours and played a number of festivals in Europe and the U.S.
Due to a lot of personal tragedy, the band went into a writing/touring hiatus following the release of 2010's "Safe" and has only been playing festival shows for the last couple of years. However, MANTICORA promises all of its fans that it will be back, re-energized a and stronger than ever and ready to deliver another 15 years of dark and powerful metal.

Encore:
18. Paranoid
BLACK SABBATH kicked off its North American tour last Thursday night (July 25) in Houston, with the reunited group adding four tracks from its new album "13" to a set already filled with SABBATH classics and a few deeper album cuts. The original trio of singer Ozzy Osbourne, guitarist Tony Iommi and bassist Geezer Butler were joined as on all their live dates so far by Ozzy's solo touring drummer Tommy Clufetos. Founding drummer Bill Ward has sat out the group's activities despite originally being announced as part of the reunion back in November 2011.
Tony Iommi told The Pulse Of Radio a while back how hard it is for SABBATH to make up a set list. "There are so many tracks that it's really difficult what to pick, because there's always somebody gonna go, 'Oh, why didn't you play that one? Why didn't you play this?' you know," he said. "And there's only a limited time you can play as well, so you've gotta work out a set that everybody wants to do without upsetting the people that say, 'Oh, I wanted to hear this. I wanted to hear that,' you know? But you've gotta drop some to put new ones in, and it's hard."
"13" is the first SABBATH album to feature Ozzy on vocals in 35 years and the first studio set by the group to ever hit No. 1 on the Billboard album chart.
The group's reunion plans were delayed in early 2012 by Iommi's cancer diagnosis, although he has been receiving regular treatment and the band was eventually able to record and start touring. 6

SINNER: 'Touch Of Sin 2' Trailer AvailableGerman hard rock institution SINNER, which is fronted by PRIMAL FEAR bassist Mat Sinner, recently entered the studio soon work on an album of re-recorded versions of the best songs from the band's early years. The resulting collection, en titled "Touch Of Sin 2" (in a nod to SINNER's 1985 album, "Touch Of Sin"), will be released on August 30 in Europe and Septemebr 10 in North America via AFM Records.
A trailer for the CD can be seen below.
Commented Sinner: "When we were younger and new to the music business, we were proud to be part of the Noise Records family and to get the chance to sign a contract with them. Reading this contract so many years later, you can't but shake your head in disbelief and wonder what must have possessed us. The exclusive rights to the recordings have since been bought and sold numerous times with the effect that none of those who owned them has ever had any relation to either the production itself or to how it was created.
"Today, the older SINNER songs still enjoy great popularity within the scene. We continue to play them live, even though the CDs aren't available any longer. It is Universal who owns the albums at the moment — but does not distribute the CDs. Therefore, they're to be held responsible that CDs from this era can only be purchased at exorbitant prices. Unfortunately, the musicians and songwriters involved have no means of dealing with the matter — our hands are tied.
"When I offered to do a remix on several songs for a best-of album, I was told that the original tapes have mysteriously disappeared and were probably burned in an 'accidental' fire. That much about the pearls of our past.
"AFM Records and I — business partners for many years — came up with the idea to once again record the best songs from this era. The album was supposed to feature several guests and to come with a wicked fan package. Initially, I was sceptical. But recent shows have shown the amount of fun and energy the band would put into these songs. However, I will only put this plan into action under one condition: the whole band has to lock themselves into the studio and record the whole thing together. I'm fed up with the assumption that it works if everyone records their stuff at home or comes cheaper. That's bullshit — this challenge meets us at exactly the right time and we'll face it!"
"Touch Of Sin 2", which is currently being mixed by Achim Köhler (PRIMAL FEAR, BRAINSTORM), will feature guest appearances by David Readman (PINK CREAM 69, VOODOO CIRCLE), Erik Martensson (ECLIPSE, W.E.T.), Tom Naumann (PRIMAL FEAR) and Diego Valdez (HELKER).
"Touch Of Sin 2" track listing:
01. Born To Rock
02. Comin' Out Fighting
03. Bad Girl
04. Knife In My Heart
05. Concrete Jungle
06. Don't Believe A Word
07. Shout
08. Germany Rocks
09. Danger Zone
10. Emerald
11. Blood On The Sand
12. Lost In A Minute
13. Masquerade
14. Heat Of The City
SINNER's latest album, "One Bullet Left", was released in September 2011 via AFM Records, the CD was recorded in Stuttgart, Germany with Mat Sinner producing and Achim Köhler engineering.
SINNER's current lineup features Mat Sinner (bass, vocals) and guitarist Christof Leim (THE NEW BLACK) along with Alexander Scholpp (TARJA, FARMER BOYS) on guitar, André Hilgers (RAGE) on drums and Alexander Beyrodt (PRIMAL FEAR, VOODOO CIRCLE) on third guitar. 2

DAVID DRAIMAN Demands Apology From ROGER WATERS For 'Blatant' Anti-Semitic SymbolismDISTURBED and DEVICE frontman David Draiman has asked his 120,000 Twitter followers to condemn British rock musician and anti-Israel activist Roger Waters for allegedly using the Jewish Star of David as one of the symbols on the giant inflatable pig that hovers over "The Wall" concerts.
According to the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, the pig-shaped balloon emblazoned with the Star of David, as well as dictatorial symbols, dropped from the ceiling while Waters performed on last week in Belgium.
The 69-year-old rocker has been using the inflatable pig for years to display political messages, serving primarily as a symbol of greed, fascism and oppression.
In a message on Twitlonger.com, a related Twitter site that allows one to send tweets that require more than 140 characters, Draiman — who has extensive family in Israel, including his brother, Jerusalem-based folk rock and ambient musician Ben Draiman, as well as his grandmother — wrote: "My brothers and sisters, my blood,
"Regarding Roger Waters' usage of a flying pig with the Star of David on it during his performances;
"I have personally been a fan of Mr. Waters' work for many years. I think that PINK FLOYD are one of the most groundbreaking and visionary acts of all time. Mr. Waters' position on the Palestinian/Israeli crisis is well known, and has been well publicized.
"Whether or not you agree with the policies of the Israeli government (and there are times where I myself, a half Israeli Jew, with a large number of relatives still living in Israel, including my brother and grandmother; do not agree with some of their policies), nothing excuses the usage of the Star of David (the symbol of the Jewish people as a whole, not Israel or its government) emblazoned on a flying pig/zeppelin during his performances for 'The Wall'. It is uncalled for, abhorrent, and blatantly Anti-Semitic.
"If the pig is in fact a symbol of greed and tyranny as described in the song from 'The Wall' called 'In the Flesh', then affixing the symbol of the Jewish people to it, is an attempt at reinforcing an age old anti-Semitic stereotype that is unwarranted and beyond offensive. All he is doing through such symbolism is encouraging hatred and teaching his fans that Jews are greedy tyrannical people, which could not be further from the actual truth. If he wanted to make a political statement against the policies of the Israeli government (which I would not be in agreement with either, but would be political and not religious/racial, and therefore understandable), he should have had an image of the Israeli flag on it, the symbol of the government, and not the lone star of David, the symbol of the Jewish people as a whole.
"Hitler himself used the star of David as a badge of identifying Jews with the word 'Juden' under it, marking ALL Jews as they were mercilessly driven into the cattle cars that lead to the death camps in his maniacal attempt at genocide.
"Once again, this is not an issue of freedom of speech, or expression, as Mr. Waters is well within his rights to say and display anything he chooses, even if it does incite hatred, but it does NOT mean that we as responsible individuals against hatred and anti-Semitic imagery, have to sit back and just take it. Freedom of speech and expression is a two way street, and sometimes you will reap what you sow.
"I therefore urge all of my followers, friends, and colleagues, and certainly the Jewish people within the entertainment community to take issue with this anti-Semitic symbolism, and to demand that the Star of David be stricken from the flying pig, and that a formal apology/explanation be given from Mr. Waters himself." 56

PROSPEKT Signs With SENSORY RECORDSOxford, England-based quartet PROSPEKT has signed with progressive metal linchpin Sensory Records, a division of The Laser's Edge, for the October release of the band's debut full-length.
Coalescing the fierce technicality of progressive metal with the symphonic elements of contemporary prog through brutal riffs, odd time-signatures, and majestic melodies, PROSPEKT's sound is influenced by bands such as DREAM THEATER, SYMPHONY X, OPETH and CIRCUS MAXIMUS, as well as film scores and fusion. The band's intent is to create an intelligent and atmospheric mix of melodic, modern progressive metal, incorporating passionate high-range vocals, frenetic guitar work, haunting orchestration and solid grooves, every composition remaining interesting and original.
Formed in 2008 by guitarist Lee Luland and drummer Blake Richardson, PROSPEKT began as an experimental project, with the focus on complex instrumentation. Through incessant amounts of writing and rehearsing, the duo forged a sound that would epitomize their technical, melodic and progressive methodology. With the addition of bassist Phil Wicker and vocalist Matt Winchester in 2009, the band released its self-titled debut EP in March 2011. In the fall of that year, Richard Marshall joined the band on keyboards and lead vocals (replacing Matt), adding a new dimension to the music. With his smooth, powerful voice, the compositions became more epic and charismatic. Soon after the lineup shift, PROSPEKT hit the studio and recorded their debut full-length, "The Colourless Sunrise", and hired world-renowned producer Jens Bogren and Adam "Nolly" Getgood of PERIPHERY to mix and master the epic, sixty-five-minute album.

ROB ZOMBIE: Houston, Dallas Shows To Be Filmed For Forthcoming Concert DVDROB ZOMBIE's Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Mayhem Festival performances in Houston and Dallas, Texas on August 3 and August 4, respectively, will be filmed for the band's first-ever concert DVD.
Says Zombie: "Come to the Houston and Dallas shows in your best Zombie gear and we will get you in the movie! Remember, the crazier you are... the more screen time you will get!"
In a recent interview with the Albany, New York radio station Q103, Rob stated about his plans to capture the band's live show for a concert DVD: "[Doing a concert DVD] always seemed like a huge nuisance, truthfully. We had a live record and that took a million years to do. And a live DVD, for some reason to me, always seems like a nuisance, because after the show is done, I don't care. I don't want to relive it. I mean, a certain member of the band films every show and wants to watch it immediately after the show. And it aggravates the fuck out of me. Who gives a shit? The show is over, I don't care. I never wanna har about it again, I never wanna see it again. Like, I never watch anything — a TV show I've been on; I don't care. Once it's done, it's done. But I figured at least once we should film it."
He continued: "We've had so many big crazy stage shows over the last many, many years. And we never filmed anything with [Rob's former band] WHITE ZOMBIE back then. I mean, there's little clips here and there, like [footage from] Brazilian television or something…
He added: "We haven't [filmed any footage for the concert DVD] yet. We're gonna do it in Texas when we get to Texas [on the current Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival], but who knows?! I may change my mind at the last minute."
Zombie recently gave an update on the progress of his next movie as a writer and director, "Broad Street Bullies", about the Philadelphia Flyers hockey team of the 1970s that were famous for beating the Soviet Union's team at the time and notorious for their violent tactics on the ice. Zombie said about the project, "As of right now, the script is done, 'cause that was a long process, putting a script together. And we're just sort of putting the financing together, putting the structure of the film together, all the boring stuff, and also beginning the early process of casting, trying to figure out who's gonna play who and what's gonna happen."
Zombie plans to shoot most of the movie in Philadelphia.
Zombie's most recent film, "The Lords Of Salem", will be out on Blu-ray and DVD on September 3.
Zombie's fifth solo album, "Venomous Rat Regeneration Vendor", was released in April and entered the Billboard album chart at No. 7 with first-week sales of 34,000 copies. 1

Video: KING DIAMOND Performs At Slovenia's METALDAYS FestivalProfanity TV has uploaded video footage of KING DIAMOND's July 26 performance at the Metaldays festival in Tolmin, Slovenia. Check it out below.
KING DIAMOND in December signed a new three-album worldwide deal with Metal Blade Records.
After a six-year touring hiatus, KING DIAMOND triumphantly returned to the stage in 2012 for European festivals Hellfest and Sweden Rock.
King, 56, whose real name is Kim Bendix Petersen, underwent open-heart triple-bypass surgery in November 2010. He has since completed his cardiac rehabilitation program and has stopped smoking entirely, changed his diet and is getting regular exercise.
In a February 2013 interview with Metal Sucks, King Diamond stated: "I had to change my diet and become a nutritional expert, eat much better food. I stopped smoking; haven't had a drag. [My wife] Livia quit, too. We walk at least five days a week.
"I felt the benefits during two shows we did [last year]. My voice is now clearer than when I started singing. It was like always driving a used car and suddenly you have enough money to buy a new car. It felt brand new! That's how my voice feels.
"I breathe different now than I used to. In the past [when we played live], it would been like [makes a gasping noise]. Now I go off stage and start talking to close friends…. I feel like I used to live in a house with ten windows and now I have twenty windows in the house. There's so much I can see and I pay more attention to what I do see.
"My philosophy hasn't changed but I don't take anything for granted."
King Diamond made his long-anticipated return to the stage with his MERCYFUL FATE bandmates Hank Shermann, Timi Hansen and Michael Denner on December 7, 2011 at the second of four intimate shows at the Fillmore in San Francisco as part of METALLICA's week-long celebration of its 30th anniversary as a band for fan club members only.
KING DIAMOND received a Grammy nomination in the "Best Metal Performance" category for the track "Never Ending Hill" off the group's latest album, "Give Me Your Soul … Please".
"Give Me Your Soul ... Please" entered the Swedish national chart at position No. 28. The CD also landed at No. 58 on the Danish chart (the second highest new entry on the chart behind VELVET REVOLVER).
"Give Me Your Soul ... Please" sold 4,500 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 174 on The Billboard 200 chart.

BEAUTY IN THE SUFFERING In Mix Mode For Initial Digital ReleasesBEAUTY IN THE SUFFERING, the newly launched studio project from producer, multi-instrumentalist, programmer, and vocalist Dietrich Thrall (MARAZENE), are officially in mix mode for music the band plans to introduce to fans starting this fall with the release of The Crazies.
"The pace is quickening as we begin the jog towards fall - these are exciting times and I am extremely happy to be with you all in the here and now," commented Dietrich on the bands official blog.
(Photo above - Beauty In The Suffering in post production at Pirated Sound Studios - Dietrich Thrall at left and Provo Provenzano on the right.)
The band is currently locked away with SKINLAB guitarist Provo Provenzano (RIKETS, EVERYBODY PANIC!) at Pirated Sounds Studio located in Oklahoma City, OK mixing the bands first three songs which will drop this fall. The band will immediately follow up the digitally released singles by beginning production on a full length debut album with a release date targeted for sometime in 2014.
After spending the majority of 2012 locked away in a personal studio writing, arranging, and programming 40+ songs, producer Dietrich Thrall began laying the foundation for a new musical manifesto. Chris Emery of AMERICAN HEAD CHARGE was immediately recruited and quickly tracked 7 songs in a marathon 15-hour drum session while Angel Bartolotta (DOPE, TEAM CYBERGEIST) contributed drums for The Crazies.
Dietrich (pronounced Dee-Trick) is best known for his co-founding and co-visionary role in the industrial-metal band Marazene (later called MARAZENE MACHINE) based in Chicago.
From managing the band during its most active and successful national touring years (2006-2008), to co-producing the band's critically hailed cover of MÖTLEY CRÜE's 'Live Wire' in 2011 as well as the band's lone official full-length album (MachiNation, 2006), to writing fan-favorite tracks such as 'Give', to guiding the band's philosophical and edgy lyrical approach ('AnTiThesis', 'Infidel Society'), to producing multiple videos for the band, Dietrich's contributions and influence are heavily noted.
