Quality fan-filmed video footage of BUSH performing two brand-new songs, "This House Is On Fire" and "Loneliness Is A Killer", on April 26 at Sutton State Parking Lot #2 at Siesta Fest in San Antonio, Texas can be seen below (with a special guest appearance by Sybil Buck). Both tracks were written during sessions for their upcoming album, due out later this year. After the departure of SEPTEMBER MURDER bassist Guntar Elsaßer in 2011, the band found an adequate replacement in Marcus Kühne (also a member of German death/grinders METZGORE) and completed the songwriting process for the new CD. According to a press releae, "the band concentrated on a more open conceptual work and a refined sound to overcome boundaries drawn by genre conventions."

Rock act FILTER will release its sixth studio album, "The Sun Comes Out Tonight", on June 4 via Wind-Up Records. The CD was recorded in Los Angeles at Blue Room studios with producer Bob Marlette (BLACK SABBATH, ATREYU, SALIVA). The follow-up to 2010's "The Trouble With Angels" was written and recorded by leader Richard Patrick and guitarist Jonny Radtke, as well as collaborator Marlette. There are also performances from touring members Jeff Friedl and Elias Mallin (drums) and Phil Buckman (bass).

The lead single, "What Do You Say", will impact radio on May 7.

In a 2012 interview with "All Knowing Force", Patrick said about the songwriting process for the new CD, "One of the main things we set out to do, we said let's make a song with all the elements of 'Hey Man Nice Shot', and we sat there and it wrote itself." He added, "We didn't want to write the same bass line or guitar progression, but it had to be an amazing riff; let's start with that. The riff was so good, it's a two-bar pattern, and we throw guitar over it with drums and I scream and the bass line never changes, it's a nonstop bass line that never ever changes."

Regarding the inspiration for the new material, Patrick said, "We were talking about some of the things that are going on in my life; there's been a lot of betrayal from people surrounding me. So we were thinking 'Hey Man Nice Shot', that's something that describes a desperate man's actions and trying to make sense of it, almost like a joke. So we started talking about betrayal and we played around with the words 'Take That Knife Out of My Back' and all of a sudden this song just wrote itself."

On the topic of the overall direction of the new CD, Patrick said, "We have this beautiful record that starts off heavy and mean and then it goes back to the more moody, almost joyful parts of life. For me, the record that we always try to model is the 'Title Of Record' era — that sets the standard in how heavy and how light we can go. We just aspire to make the songs as good and I think the songwriting is superior, we just have to make sure the performances are as desperate and powerful as those crazy takes I did when I was kid."

THE POODLES have released their new single, '40 Days And 40 Nights', for purchase via digital download.

Tour De Force is the follow-up to their Swedish No. 1 album from 2011, Performocracy. Behind the wheel, taking on the duties of producer for a fourth time, will be Mats Valentin and once again the band wishes to underline with the album title their superb entertaining abilities both as Hard Rocking studio unit and as live act. "When writing and creating music we try to do something that we would love to listen to ourselves. It's always been important for us to do music close to our hearts", says bass player Pontus Egberg. "I do feel however that there’s a newly found playfulness about a lot of the tracks. I’m not quite sure what it is myself but it’s great!"

STONE SOUR performed a cover of the BLACK SABBATH classic "Children Of The Grave" for the first time this past Wednesday, April 24 at Marathon Music Works in Nashville, Tennessee during the "Road To The Golden Gods" tour. Fan-filmed video footage of the performance can be seen below.

"House Of Gold & Bones - Part 2", the second part of STONE SOUR's two-album series, "House of Gold & Bones", sold 35,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 10 on The Billboard 200 chart. The record arrived in stores on April 9 via Roadrunner

The "House Of Gold & Bones" albums were recorded at Sound Farm Studios just outside of the band's native Des Moines, Iowa with producer David Bottrill (TOOL, MUSE) at the helm.

STONE SOUR has issued a new music video for "Do Me A Favor", the first official single from "House Of Gold & Bones - Part 2". A four-issue comic book series adapted from singer Corey Taylor's story is coming out this spring, with the first issue arriving on shelves on April 17.

The official synopsis for the comic book reads, "Trapped in an alternate reality, the Human must make his way to the House of Gold & Bones as he is chased by a crazed mob and taunted by mysterious ally Allen. What the Human discovers on his journey will be his salvation . . . or his destruction."

The second issue of the comic will arrive on May 22.

DOWN AMONG THE DEAD MEN, the new musical project from the minds of Rogga Johansson and Dave Ingram, is working on material for its full-length debut, to be released later in the year via Cyclone Empire Records.

Dave is well known from his time as vocalist for two of England’s mightiest metal legends, BOLT THROWER and BENEDICTION, along with his Danish band DOWNLORD and his current two online radio shows, "Metal Breakfast Radio" and "Lambert's Basement". Rogga is equally legendary, with multiple bands under his belt, including PAGANIZER, RIBSPREADER, FONDLECORPSE, HUMANITY DELETE and THE GROTESQUERY, to name but a few. Joining them are Rogga's fellow PAGANIZER and RIBSPREADER members, Dennis Blomberg (guitar) and Brynjar Helgetun (drums).

"Kvelertak", the new video from Norwegian rockers KVELERTAK, can be seen below. The clip, which was shot by noted Norwegian photographer and filmmaker Stian Andersen, follows the band on their recent European tour.

Says KVELERTAK: "Stian Andersen and Erik Treimann came along on for a couple of shows on our recent release tour of Europe. They were able to get some sick footage on those few days, and put together this movie by themselves, pretty awesome! The shows that are featured here are from London, Cologne, Paris and the epic final show in Oslo." Andersen adds: "To direct my first music video with one of the best rock acts on the block is nothing less than a career high and a dream come true! For this video concept I travelled on tour with the band across Europe to capture the (true) essence of KVELERTAK."

KVELERTAK's sophomore album, "Meir", topped the official chart in Norway. The CD, which sold 1,800 copies in the United States in its first week of release, was issued on March 26 via Roadrunner Records. It was produced by CONVERGE's Kurt Ballou and features cover artwork by John Dyer Baizley.

"It is both catchy and heavy; we're pushing our limits in both ends of that spectre. It's very varied and there are a lot of surprises in store. I mean, it's unlike anything I myself have heard before, so we even managed to surprise ourselves," said Erlend Hjelvik.

The self-titled debut album from DEVICE sold 35,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 11 on The Billboard 200 chart. The record arrived in stores on April 9 via Warner Bros.

Draiman told The Pulse Of Radio that DEVICE's CD is a showcase for musical and vocal styles he couldn't do with DISTURBED. "This was just kind of experimentation of other things that I've always been able to do but never really tried in any effective way," he said. "But, you know, I love going in these different directions and trying these different textures and taking songs to have a little bit more of an ambient feel to them — things that don't go hand in hand with DISTURBED."

Draiman launched DEVICE last year with ex-FILTER guitarist Geno Lenardo, after DISTURBED went on hiatus in late 2011.

Lenardo is not touring with DEVICE due to previous commitments. The live band, which made its debut on April 10 in Mobile, Alabama, includes EVANESCENCE drummer Will Hunt and DOPE guitarist Virus.

Polish progressive grind act ANTIGAMA has posted a new video trailer for their sixth album, Meteor, out on May 28th via Selfmadegod. Defiled Under: Music has announced the signing of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada's ANCHORESS. The label will release the band's debut album, "Set Sail", on May 14.

To kick off the album launch, ANCHORESS has premiered the video of their cover of ANDREW W.K.'s "Party Hard". Although the track won't be on the upcoming release, the cover will be available on the band's Bandcamp page. RIVAL SONS have released a video for their latest single, 'Wild Animal', compiled from footage sent in from their fans. The band, who recently returned home from a near sell-out European headlining tour, held a competition asking their fans around the world to send in clips of their own creative interpretations of the song. The winning entries were chosen by the band and put together to make the official fan video.

Formed in 2009 by vocalist/guitarist Toby Wright, Age Of Taurus was initially a one-man doom metal mission. Inspired by masters of the craft like CANDLEMASS, TROUBLE and REVELATION, the project was intended more as a studio affair rather than something more alive. However, after increasing interest in the band and a succession of glowing reviews of debut demo, In the Days Of The Taurean Empire, Toby decided that there was no turning back and duly put together a fully working line up; enter bassist Richard Bruce, lead guitarist Alastair Riddell and drummer Darius Claydon.

The band quickly began writing together and started to develop and define a sound that suited their combined musical direction. With their feet still firmly planted in the doom metal field, the group were able to explore other paths of influence, particularly bass-driven seventies hard rock and the oh-so-punishing twin guitar attacks that ruled the speakers during NWOBHM's golden years.

Produced by Jaime Gomez Arellano (ANGEL WITCH, HEXVESSEL, GHOST), Desperate Souls Of Tortured Times is a 42-minute collection of material written during their transition over the past three years. It's an unashamedly heavy voyage down a road less travelled, where each of the seven songs acts as a chapter from an altogether longer tale. Monstrous, mountain-shaking riffs are order of the day in the Empire, stepping aside only for Riddell's searing leads to take hold, whilst the lock-tight Bruce/Claydon rhythm section underpins all. Heading the charge from centre stage, Wright's lyrics act as a vivid narrative, painting pictures of ancient ritual and sprawling landscapes, somewhat reminiscent of MANILLA ROAD and BROCAS HELM in their prime. Some might assume that DSOTT is a concept album, however in reality, Age Of Taurus is more like a 'concept band', intent on delivering undiluted and intriguing heavy metal to all that will listen.

Spanish melodic death metallers JOTNAR have released the official lyric video for the song 'Perfect Lie' from the their debut EP album, Giant, which was released in 2012 via Murdered Music/Coroner Records.
Giant, which includes five tracks of melodic death metal with old-school and modern influences blended together, was recorded at Jotunheim Studios in Spain and mixed and mastered at Perfect Fifth Studio in Canada.
Jotnar was forced to postpone the recording of their new album due to a shoulder surgery of guitarist Ben Melero, who is still recovering in physical therapy. The band plans entering in studio this summer.

Jotnar will be on tour in Sweden in November, where they will perform at the Rock Bitch Boat Festival.

Madrid, Spain-based gothic death metallers TEARS OF MARTYR, will release their new album, Tales, on April 26th via their new deal with Germany's Massacre Records.

Danish death metal band ILLDISPOSED have announced that drummer Thomas Jensen had to undergo surgery to his knee last week, and is therefore forced to sit out the upcoming tour in Germany/Austria/Switzerland. Kim Langkjær Jensen (KOLDBORN, ex-DAWN OF DEMISE) will step in for Thomas until he is fully recovered.

Avant-garde Norwegian group SHINING - whose unique "blackjazz" hybrid of extreme progressive metal, experimental jazz-fusion and industrial precision has earned extensive international acclaim - will release One One One, their first studio album in three years, on June 4th in Europe (excluding Norway), and on June 7th in Germany and Austria.

The band have released a live clip for a heavy cover of KING CRIMSON’s classic track, '21st Century Schizoid Man'.

Frontman and saxophonist Jørgen Munkeby comments: “In light of our upcoming show at Rockefeller this Friday, we wanted to post one of my favorite live clips filmed at that very venue in November 2010. I do love the original version of King Crimson’s '21st Century Schizoid Man', but I also love it when twisting classics around gives them a brand new face. I feel this is the best version we have done of the song until now. But we’ll try to surpass it this Friday! Shining recently released a video for 'I Won't Forget', the first single from One One One. It's science fiction-inspired look gels naturally with the futuristic production of the audio track and creates a music video that perfectly portrays the unique aesthetics of the Blackjazz Rebels.

“We are extremely happy and excited to finally be able to show you our new video," says Shining frontman Jørgen Munkeby. "The song 'I Won’t Forget' is my absolute favorite of all the tracks we’ve ever made, and to be able to top this track off with such a beautiful, crisp and clean science fiction video is a dream come true."

Director Kyrre Larsen, from the Blæst production company, comments: “Since I first heard Blackjazz, I've somehow associated the sound of Shining's music with science-fiction. I tried to create a sense of this in the video for 'Fisheye' in 2012. 'I Won't Forget' builds on that video, but I wanted to take things one step further - and also avoid the style of imagery usually associated with heavier music.”

Mixed and co-produced by Sean Beaven (NIN, MARILYN MANSON, SLAYER) and mastered by Tom Baker at Precision Mastering (AVENGED SEVEFOLD, DEFTONES, MINISTRY), One One One sees Shining expanding on the musical palettes introduced on 2010's landmark Blackjazz. That album scored a Norwegian Grammy nomination, cracked the Norwegian Top 10 and saw the group tour around the globe, from high-profile US events like SXSW and CMJ to the large stages of European summer festivals. One such performance was captured on Live Blackjazz, an ambitious CD/DVD released on 11.11.11 that saw the group perform the album in full before a sold-out crowd in their home country.

Shining has already performed One One One live in its entirety in Norway, after which they were awarded the prestigious Statoil scholarship - essentially a grant to be used toward international touring. Accordingly, the band is already making plans to return to America, where their 2012 SXSW performance earned rave reviews.

It will be the latest step on an unorthodox career path that began with two acoustic jazz albums released at the turn of the century. From there, Shining began to incorporate progressive rock and experimental metal influences on their next two releases, after which they famously collaborated with progressive black metal Vikings ENSLAVED on a concerto commissioned by a top European jazz festival. That union helped to influence the musical direction of Blackjazz, which in turn begat One One One.
"While One One One is meant to complete the Blackjazz Trilogy, it's also definitely the catchiest and most immediate music we've ever recorded, thereby paving the way for another bright and brand new version of ourselves," says Shining frontman Jørgen Munkeby. "The idea this time around was to make a series of jazz-metal hits with no fillers, hence the name of the album, and I believe we've managed to do just that. I have never been as proud of an album as I am with this one."
