LOCKUP/CRIMINAL's ANTON REISENEGGER To Guest On HATEFX AlbumAnton Reisenegger (LOCKUP, CRIMINAL, PENTAGRAM) will lay down guest vocals on the title track of "Under Destruction", the new album from HATEFX, the Fresno/Livermore, California-based metal band featuring guitarist Glen Alvelais (FORBIDDEN, TESTAMENT, LD/50).
Commented Anton: "I was really happy to find out my good friend Gabriel had put together a new band in the U.S., When I heard Glen Alvelais had joined, I was like, 'Fuck!' The first FORBIDDEN album is of my all-time favourite thrash albums, so I was really happy for Gabriel. And when he asked me to contribute some backing vocals, I said, 'Where do I sign?' HATEFX's music will really appeal to fans of metal with groove, chops and balls!"
Added HATEFX frontman "G": "I thought of my Chilean metal colleague Anton because we had worked before on DOGMA's 'Super Fix' (my former band) and wanted to get as heavy of a chorus part for the title track 'Destruction' and he captured exactly what we had in mind for this part. Each song has a different feel yet they come together as cohesive pieces to the overall sonic concept of 'Destruction'"
"Under Destruction" was helmed by Chilean producer Javier Bassino for a late March release via xXx Music.
Immediately after the release of "Under Destruction", the band will embark on a number of tour dates, starting with their home turf, California.

WINDHAND Signs To RELAPSE RECORDSRelapse Records has announced the signing of Richmond, Virginia's masters of ethereal doom metal, WINDHAND. The band has begun laying down tracks for its new LP in their home studio, The Darkroom, where the outfit will record and mix the entire album, and deliver it to Relapse for a fall 2013 release.
Commented the band: "We're all so honored to be in the company of so many amazing artists. To know that our next record will be alongside some of the albums that inspired us to play music is pretty incredible."
Having formed in 2008 in the fertile Richmond, Virginia musical underground, WINDHAND's incredible, organic style of low-end doom and trancelike occult/ethereal vocals helped the band catch immediate attention well beyond the region, drawing comparisons to everything from ELECTRIC WIZARD and PALLBEARER to THE DEVIL'S BLOOD and BLOOD CEREMONY. Continuous live shows and U.S. tours have seen them share the stage with such acts as PALLBEARER, PENTAGRAM, THE GATES OF SLUMBER and GRAVEYARD.
"Reflection Of The Negative", a split album with WINDHAND and local scene brethren and now labelmates COUGH, will be released in mid-April via Relapse. COUGH leads off, delivering a characteristically electrifying down-tuned epic track, while their brethren in WINDHAND serve up two brand new epic songs for their half of the dirge, in the end bearing nearly forty minutes music from two prime acts in the contemporary doom/sludge circuit.
WINDHAND is:
Asechiah Bogdan - guitar
Dorthia Cottrell - vocals
Parker Chandler - bass
Ryan Wolfe - drums
Garrett Morris - guitar

CULT OF LUNA Films Acoustic Version Of 'Passing Through'; Video AvailableOn the evening of the Swedish band's show in Helsinki, Finland last week, CULT OF LUNA ventured out into a blizzard to film an acoustic version of the song "Passing Through".
"We shot it in one take and my fingers were so cold that I couldn't feel them after only halfway through the song," says guitarist Johannes Persson. "I didn't get the feeling back for over 30 minutes after we got inside. All wind sounds you hear are real — no special sound effects to make it sound cool — the sound is straight from the mic. It was fucking freezing and fucking windy. The blizzard came from Sweden where it had closed cities and roads and it got worse later on during the night. The images actually do not give the cold justice."
The video can be seen at OffTheRecord.fi.
The vinyl version of "Vertikal", the new album from CULT OF LUNA, will be made available in the U.S. on March 26. Only 1,000 pieces will be manufactured for retail and online purchase in the U.S. The gatefold LP will be foil-numbered and priced significantly lower than the currently available import vinyl.
The album can be pre-ordered/purchased here.
"Vertikal" was released in Europe on January 25 via Indie Recordings and in the U.S. on January 29 through Density Records. In addition to the regular CD, there is a limited edition of "Vertikal", including one bonus track.
According to a press release, "Vertikal" marks a much-anticipated return for the band after five years spent cultivating the ideas and directing the influences that have helped form a concept for the album. Distilled throughout are themes of machinery, repetition and clear, linear structures honed to the visual imagery of Fritz Lang's classic expressionist science fiction film "Metropolis". The music broods, builds and boils as you may expect from CULT OF LUNA, but never overcomplicates itself or veers from its intentions; it is arguably their finest and most cohesive piece of work to date. 4

ANTHRAX's Cover Version Of CHEAP TRICK's 'Big Eyes' Available For Streaming"Anthems", ANTHRAX's long-awaited, eight-track EP that pays tribute to the classic songs by some of the band's favorite acts from the 1970s, will be released in North America on March 19 (MRI/Megaforce), and on March 22 in Europe (Nuclear Blast).
"Anthems" track listing
01. Anthem (RUSH cover)
02. Jailbreak (THIN LIZZY cover)
03. TNT (AC/DC cover)
04. Smokin' (BOSTON cover)
05. Big Eyes (CHEAP TRICK cover)
06. Keep On Runnin' (JOURNEY cover)
07. Crawl (album version)
08. Crawl (special remix)
ANTHRAX's cover of CHEAP TRICK's "Big Eyes" can be streamed below.
Speaking to Music Radar, ANTHRAX drummer Charlie Benante stated about the decision to cover "Jailbreak": ""Like BOSTON, they had the twin-harmony guitars. That kind of approach influenced IRON MAIDEN, and then MAIDEN influenced us and the whole thrash metal thing. That's why I went back to THIN LIZZY and BOSTON — if it weren't for them, you might not have had IRON MAIDEN and all the bands that came after them.
"Phil Lynott is one of those people who is a god in the U.K. and Europe, but I don't know if he's fully appreciated in the rest of the world like he should be. Some artists just don't get their due.
"I don't know how you can begin to pick between THIN LIZZY songs. 'Jailbreak' is probably an obvious choice for a cover. I might have gone for something more obscure, but when I hear the lyrics to this one — 'Tonight there's gonna be a jailbreak somewhere in this town' — I can't deny how cool they are."
The "Anthems" EP will be available on CD as well as digitally via iTunes and other online retailers. In addition to "Anthems"' cover art, Benante and artist Stephen Thompson have subtly redesigned each track's original album cover art to "Anthrax" it. The "Anthems" EP will first be housed in one of the "re-imagined" digipak covers, and then inserted inside the main CD cover sleeve. The main cover sleeve has been designed in such a way so fans will be able to see which one of the six "re-imagined" covers is inside.
"Anthems" was produced by ANTHRAX, Jay Ruston and Rob Caggiano and recorded for the most part throughout 2012 literally all over the world: at Benante's home studio, in Ruston's New York studio, on the band's tour bus while on last summer's Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival, in hotel rooms, and backstage at their Berlin show last December.
The Grammy-nominated ANTHRAX has just hit the road in support "Anthems" with dates in Australia, and will return to North America to headline the Metal Alliance Tour that kicks off March 22. For all of these dates, ANTHRAX is being joined by SHADOWS FALL guitarist Jon Donais.

IMMOLATION: First 'Kingdom Of Conspiracy' Trailer ReleasedNew York death metal veterans IMMOLATION will release their ninth full-length album, "Kingdom Of Conspiracy", on May 14 in North America, both digitally and physically, via Nuclear Blast Records. The The follow-up to 2010's "Majesty And Decay" was recorded at Sound Studios in Millbrook, New York with longtime producer Paul Orofino, and mixed and mastered once again by Zack Ohren (ALL SHALL PERISH, DECREPIT BIRTH, SUFFOCATION).
The first trailer for the album can be seen below.
The "Kingdom Of Conspiracy" cover imagery was brought to life this time by Pär Olofsson, who has previously worked with IMMORTAL, THE FACELESS and ABYSMAL DAWN, among others.
"The figures in the artwork have all been bound and chained and have their eyes and mouths sewn shut symbolically, showing the chilling of speech and the intentional blinding of the masses," explains IMMOLATION guitarist Robert Vigna. "They all make up the huge ominous structure behind them, which is symbolic of the growing security state as well as our failing structures today, and how they are slowly and methodically consuming and controlling us all. It has a very Orwellian feel to it, which is what we were going for since the album is very dark in a slightly different way."
In regards to "Kingdom Of Conspiracy"'s lyrical content, Vigna says: "The album deals with the world today and the slow unraveling and breakdown of our societies and the systems and structures behind them. It speaks of the human side to all this and how we have all lost our way and have fed into these very systems that are slowly coming apart. This is the common thread running throughout the album and the cover paints a very dark picture of the future, where these systems have completely absorbed our world, and our freedoms and we have become a part of the very fabric of these structures that we have created. Each song is a symptom of this mass sickness that has brought the world to the point it is at now, and we paint a very bleak picture of this slow and gradual breakdown and the human failures that sped this process along. This is the 'Kingdom Of Conspiracy'."
"Kingdom Of Conspiracy" track listing:
01. Echoes Of Despair
02. Keep The Silence
03. Kingdom Of Conspiracy
04. Serving Divinity
05. The Great Sleep
06. Indoctrinate
07. A Spectacle of Lies
08. God Complex
09. Bound To Order
10. All That Awaits
For photos of the band in the studio, click here.
Catch the band on the Decibel Magazine Tour this spring with CANNIBAL CORPSE and NAPALM DEATH.
"Majesty And Decay", was released in March 2010 via Nuclear Blast Records. The CD sold around 1,400 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 29 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200. 3

The limited-edition version of the CD will come with a bonus DVD entitled "Anomimata". A trailer for the DVD can be seen below.
"Anomima" will feature guest appearances by David Vincent (MORBID ANGEL) and Fernando Ribeiro (MOONSPELL).
"Anomima" track listing:
01.
02. Un Pensiero Per Il Destino
03. Sorrow Descending
04. Medea
05. Dilate The Time
06. Les Réminiscences Extatiques
07. Truth Will Prevail
08.
09. The Charmer
10. L'idée Fixe
11. Misery’s King
12. Canticles 2 (bonus track on limited digipak edition and digital version)
The cover artwork was designed by Metastazis and can be seen below.
Commented Christos: "David narrates the prologue of the most vicious song on the album, shading his dark and imposing shadow over the band's music. I consider that cooperation as one of the most representative of CHAOSTAR's new work. A tragic heroine taken from the ancient Greek tragedies meets the devilish power of the unsurpassable voice of Mr. Vincent."
With regards to Ribeiro's involvement with the CD, Antoniou said, "His deep gothic voice will give a completely powerful atmosphere to a duet."
CHAOSTAR's current lineup is as follows:
Christos Antoniou: Composer/Synths
Androniki Skoula: Vocals
Fotis Benardo: Percussion
George Diamandopoulos: Traditional Instruments
Charalampos Paritsis: Electric Violin
John Thermos: Synths
After the independent release of their first record, "The Underworld" (2000), CHAOSTAR signed a deal with the French label Holy Records, which issued the "Chaostar" (2000), "Threnody" (2001) and "The Scarlet Queen" (2004) albums, as well as the compilation "Underworld" (2007).
When SEPTTICFLESH returned from a self-imposed creative break with their highly successful album "Communion" (2008) on Season Of Mist, Christos also revived CHAOSTAR and placed his trust in the same label.
"After six years of silence, I am very pleased to continue my experimental side with Season Of Mist," commented Christos."I know how they work and they understand what CHAOSTAR is about."
He added, "I am thinking about writing an 'opera' based concept on Euripides' drama masterpiece 'Medea'. I will definitely not follow the previous atmosphere, which was rather based on 'classical' music. A combination of extreme metal sounds and modern textures will play a dominant role in my forthcoming sound." 6

Video: Former Guitarist For GEOFF TATE's QUEENSRŸCHE Performs With 'Real' QUEENSRŸCHEFormer MEGADETH and KING DIAMOND guitarist Glen Drover — who left Geoff Tate's version of QUEENSRŸCHE before playing a single show with the band — joined the Todd La Torre-fronted QUEENSRŸCHE on stage lst night (Thursday, March 7) at the Phoenix Concert Theatre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada to perform the QUEENSRŸCHE classic "Take Hold Of The Flame".
Commented the band: "Great show in Toronto last night and a special thanks to Glen Drover for coming out and joining us on stage — it was a blast!!"
Fan-filmed video footage of the performance can be seen below.
In a posting on his Twitter account earlier this week, Glen wrote: "Going up onstage with the REAL QUEENSRŸCHE and play 'Take Hold Of The Flame' this thursday at the Phoenix in Toronto. Going to be fun stuff!"
Drover announced his departure from Geoff Tate's version of QUEENSRŸCHE last November. He explained in a statement: "I am really sorry to say that I have decided to bow out of Geoff Tate's QUEENSRŸCHE. I was very excited about doing this gig initially, but learned in the past week or so that it's in my best interest not to do this right now. I feel really bad for those who were excited about the idea, and to Geoff himself, who, I have to say, was very nice to me on my past trip to Seattle. I, of course, am very disappointed for arriving at this point, and making this decision, to say the least. I sincerely wish the Geoff and the band all the luck on what they do in the future."
The Todd La Torre-fronted version of QUEENSRŸCHE has inked a deal with Century Media Records for the release of the band's new studio album. Due on June 11, the CD marks the debut release from the lineup comprised of La Torre (vocals; ex-CRIMSON GLORY), Michael Wilton (guitar), Parker Lundgren (guitar), Eddie Jackson (bass) and Scott Rockenfield (drums).
The Geoff Tate-fronted version of QUEENSRŸCHE has set "Frequency Unknown" as the title of its new album, due on April 23 via the Los Angeles-based independent label Cleopatra Records. The CD was produced by Jason Slater at a studio in Northern California.
Although a lineup for Tate's QUEENSRŸCHE was originally announced in the fall of 2012, things have changed. The band will now feature Tate along with bassist Rudy Sarzo (OZZY OSBOURNE, DIO, WHITESNAKE, QUIET RIOT), guitarist Kelly Gray (QUEENSRŸCHE 1998-2001), keyboardist Randy Gane and new additions, guitarist Robert Sarzo (QUIET RIOT, HURRICANE) and drummer Simon Wright (AC/DC, DIO, RHINO BUCKET). Guest musicians on the CD include K.K. Downing (JUDAS PRIEST), Chris Poland (MEGADETH), Ty Tabor (KING'S X), Paul Bostaph (SLAYER, TESTAMENT, EXODUS), Lita Ford, Brad Gillis (NIGHT RANGER), Dave Meniketti (Y&T) and Craig Locicero (FORBIDDEN). 1

MUNICIPAL WASTE's Toxic Revolution Ale Coming Next WeekGrab your tattered flag and your full-face respirator for the celebration, 'cuz it's finally here: MUNICIPAL WASTE's Toxic Revolution Stout Ale, "a black liquid wall of death in your mouth."
Thank science. Yes, science. Who else perfected the brewing arts of malting, mashing, boiling, fermentation, aging, and bottling? Next, give an extra-special thanks to Virginia's speed metal punks MUNICIPAL WASTE for being the inspirational muse to the liquid scientists at the artisanal craft brewery at Three Floyds.
Here's what the guys in the Three Floyds lab coats have to say about their latest stupendous creation: "Toxic Revolution was borne of relentless experimentation, ancient alchemy, and hatred. Hatred of uninspired, flavorless beer. MUNICIPAL WASTE demanded we brew a massive-yet-drinkable, American-style oatmeal stout perfect for winter shred sessions. Black as night and creamy on the palate with fruity, tropical hop notes balanced with roasted and chocolate malt. 50 IBUs, 8.5% ABV."
"Being able to have a beer made for the band is awesome," shares MUNICIPAL WASTE drummer Dave Witte, the band's noted beer connoisseur. "Having a beer made for the band by Three Floyds is incredible and a dream come true. Not only are they world-class beer makers, they are great people and understand the band. They invited me out to help brew and it was such a great time! After tasting the pilot batch and stages of the brew itself, I can say that this is going to be one hell of a beer. Three Floyds always outdoes themselves and this is no exception!"
Toxic Revolution will be released the week of March 11 via Three Floyds' regular beer distribution channels and vendors in 22 ounce bottles. It can also be purchased on draught at the Three Floyds pub in Munster, Indiana (just down the road from Chicago).
MUNICIPAL WASTE will join ANTHRAX and EXODUS on the upcoming Metal Alliance Tour, which launches on March 22 in Anaheim, California. 2

Former AMBERIAN DAWN Singer Releases 'Save Me' Video"Save Me", the first video from DARK SARAH, the new project led by former AMBERIAN DAWN singer Heidi Parviainen, can be seen below.
The story of Dark Sarah starts of a woman who has gone through some rough time and was actually left on the altar by her husband. She almost breaks down, but something wakes up inside of her and she becomes another person, her meaner half, Dark Sarah.
Dark Sarah says: "I used to look at the world with blue eyes, I used to love with an open heart but I was naïve; the world needed to show it to me. I got angry for my weakness and angry with the world. In the darkest swirls of my mind, I got stronger and meaner and started to change. I worked with my fear and I became Dark Sarah. I'm not bitter, I'm just bittersweet."
In an interview with Bloodart, Parviainen stated about DARK SARAH: "I had been planning my own project for years but never had really the time for it next to AMBERIAN DAWN. And in fall 2011, I started an active phase to make my project happen. After quitting AMBERIAN DAWN, I could concentrate on it only. At this point of my career, I felt I had to make one of my dreams come true in the form of DARK SARAH. But who knows what the future will bring?"
Regarding where the idea for the name of her new project came from, Heidi said: "The name for DARK SARAH came along the first lyrics I wrote for this project. The story is about a woman who has gone through some rough time and was actually left on the altar by her husband. She almost breaks down, but something wakes up inside of her and she becomes another person, her meaner half, Dark Sarah. So Dark Sarah became my project name and kind of my alter ego, too. I wanted to make the name sound like a supervillain or a cartoon figure like a Catwoman, Jekyl & Hyde, etc. since they all have their metamorphoses. There is also a meaning behind the name Sarah which is an really old name and means 'a princess,' and Dark Sarah a 'dark princess.' The eye of horus symbol in her eye when she transforms into hear meaner self means protection; she protects her good self by becoming bad."
On the topic of the "Save Me" lyrical concert and video, Heidi said: "The song 'Save Me' is an introduction song and it tells the story about transforming into Dark Sarah. There is a strong movie kind of feeling in it and really strong story telling. It is such a big song and I felt it needed a music video to support the story. The music video was made in Finland by Voionmaan Opisto and Routafilmi in October 2012 (really freezing!) and mostly in the forest."
DARK SARAH's forthcoming album will include "the most bombastic duet ever from Dark Sarah and the great soprano Manuela Kraller of XANDRIA!" according to Heidi.
Parviainen left AMBERIAN DAWN in November. Her final appearance with the band was at the Metal Female Voices Fest at the end of October in Belgium. She has since been replaced by Päivi "Capri" Virkkunen.
Parviainen sang on AMBERIAN DAWN's first four albums — "Circus Black" (2012), "End Of Eden" (2010), "The Clouds Of Northland Thunder" (2009) and "River Of Tuoni" (2008). 12

BLACK STAR RIDERS: Debut Album Title, Release Dates RevealedBLACK STAR RIDERS — the new band formed by THIN LIZZY alumni Ricky Warwick (vocals), Scott Gorham (guitar), Damon Johnson (guitar), Marco Mendoza (bass) with new addition Jimmy DeGrasso (ALICE COOPER, MEGADETH, DAVID LEE ROTH, SUICIDAL TENDENCIES) on drums — will release its debut album, "All Hell Breaks Loose", via Nuclear Blast Entertainment on the following dates:
* May 21 – Japan
* May 22 - Sweden
* May 24 - Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Finland, Norway
* May 27 - U.K., France, BeNeLux, Poland, Czech Republic, Denmark, Spain, Portugal, Hungary, Greece
* May 28 - U.S., Canada, Italy, South America
About the origin of the album title, Warwick states: "I was watching a documentary about World War II bombers and saw the name painted on the side of one of the aircraft. The name just resonated with me and it seem to encapsulate the turmoil that we, as a society, are currently experiencing. The past few years have been such a wild ride and now with the release of the album, it sounded like a bad-ass album title that summed up what BLACK STAR RIDERS is all about."
"All Hell Breaks Loose" was recorded and mixed by producer Kevin Shirley (LED ZEPPELIN, IRON MAIDEN, AEROSMITH, RUSH) at his The Cave studios in Malibu, California. Mastering duties were handled by Bob Ludwig (JIMI HENDRIX, RUSH, KISS, LED ZEPPELIN) at Gateway Mastering Studios in Portland, Maine.
"All Hell Breaks Loose" track listing:
01. All Hell Breaks Loose
02. Bound For Glory
03. Kingdom Of The Lost
04. Bloodshot
05. Kissin’ The Ground
06. Hey Judas
07. Hoodoo Voodoo
08. Valley Of The Stones
09. Someday Salvation
10. Before The War
11. Blues Ain't So Bad
The album will be released as a standard CD and also as a special-edition digipak featuring a bonus track, "Right To Be Wrong", and a "making-of" DVD.
A 24-minute collection of video reports featuring behind-the-scenes footage from the making of "All Hell Breaks Loose" can be seen below.
At the end of March, there will be the first single release that will have an exclusive airing via certain media outlets prior to public release. Around the same time, more tour dates for the fall will be announced.
In October 2012, THIN LIZZY announced that they would not be recording new material under the THIN LIZZY monicker. The last incarnation of the band — Gorham, Brian Downey, Wharton, Warwick, Johnson and Mendoza — would be looking to form a new project.
According to a press release, Brian Downey decided to not become involved with BLACK STAR RIDERS because he didn't want to commit to the touring cycle a new album would entail and Darren Wharton wanted to concentrate on DARE and other music and film projects.
"Brian and Darren just don't want to be on the road 150 days a year. anti that's completely understandable," Warwick tells Classic Rock magazine. "But we do. We work very well together, and there's no better man than Jimmy to gel it together. This is a kick-ass band."
The BLACK STAR RIDERS album will feature material the band wrote while touring as THIN LIZZY and the sound retains that classic feel but is very much its own as well. The BLACK STAR RIDERS record is the next step in the evolution of the THIN LIZZY story.
"There's no way it could sound like THIN LIZZY with [late THIN LIZZY frontman] Phil [Lynott]," Gorham tells Classic Rock. But Johnson disagreees. "I think Scott is too dose to it," he says. "Ricky or I would bring in a song idea, and as soon as Scott starts playing on it, it sounds like THIN LIZZY, whether Scott realizes it or not. Everybody who's heard the new music says it has that dassic THIN LIZZY vibe. No, it can't sound like the original band. But that classic LIZZY vibe is absolutely there."
"I'm not gonna pull any punches here," says Warwick. "It sounds like classic THIN LIZZY brought up to date. l've been singing Phil's songs every night for two years, and although it sounds a bit crass because the man's not here, I feel like I've had these lessons from getting so deep into his work. Phil's songwriting, his lyrics, his phrasing, his pitching, his delivery — it's genius. And that's really helped me as a writer."
It was Warwick who named the new band BLACK STAR RIDERS, after an outlaw gang in the 1993 western movie "Tombstone". As Johnson tells Classic Rock: "Scott said from the very beginning that we did not want a name that was specifically related to THIN LIZZY, because this band has to stand on its own."

BATTLE BEAST: New Album Title, Release Date RevealedFinnish metallers BATTLE BEAST — who last fall parted ways with lead singer Nitte Vänskä and replaced her with Noora Louhimo — have completed work on their second full-length album. Produced, mixed and mastered by the band at JKB Studios in Helsinki, the CD will simply be entitled "Battle Beast" and is scheduled for release on May 17 via Nuclear Blast Records.
A four-minute trailer for "Battle Beast", featuring commentary from BATTLE BEAST bassist Eero Sipilä, keyboardist Janne Björkroth and drummer Pyry Vikki, can be seen below.
BATTLE BEAST recently toured Europe as the support act for SONATA ARCTICA.
Fan-filmed video footage of the band's November 4, 2012 concert in Berlin, Germany can be seen below.
Regarding Vänskä's departure from the band, BATTLE BEAST previously said: "On August 19th, Nitte sent the rest of the band an e-mail stating that she was leaving the band, effective immediately. As the reason for her leaving, she cited her will to focus on her family life. As this happened without any prior notice, the rest us were slightly disappointed. But what's done is done, and we're thrilled to announce the new BATTLE BEAST vocalist with a voice and character to take the band to heights of glory."
According to a press release, Louhimo "is already experienced in performing some of the most demanding rock songs in existence and is now ready to take her big step into the metal world. With lungs of leather and a voice to order gods with, Noora possesses all the requirements to deliver the kind of power needed for performing BATTLE BEAST's music.
BATTLE BEAST's debut album, "Steel" — which was originally released in Finland in 2011 via Hype Records — was made available internationally on January 27, 2012 through Nuclear Blast Records.
Formed in 2008, BATTLE BEAST won the Wacken Open Air Metal Battle contest in Finland last year, enabling the band to perform at the Wacken Open Air festival in Germany and represent its home country in the international Metal Battle finals. The group beat out 26 other acts from all around the world, which led to a record deal with the world's biggest independent heavy metal label.

BLACK SABBATH's TONY IOMMI Explains His Involvement With Armenian EUROVISION Song EntryA song co-written by BLACK SABBATH guitarist Tony Iommi has been chosen as Armenia's entry into the Eurovision Song Contest.
DORIANS frontman Gor Sujyan's "Lonely Planet" was selected at a Saturday, March 2 national vote to be performed at Eurovision in Malmö, Sweden. The identity of the song's composers — Iommi (music) and Vardan Zadoyan (lyrics) — had been kept secret for a while.
The legendary axeman said on his web site: "Well, here's something different, one of my demo ideas has been chosen as the Armenian entry for the Eurovision Song Contest!
"It went on a short list and Saturday night was voted as the winner. I did the music and the performing band DORIANS wrote the lyrics. It's called 'Lonely Planet'.
"They're a good band, the singer has a really good voice and the lyrics they've written are in English. It now goes to the semi-final on May 16 in Malmö, Sweden.
"Glad to be able to be involved with Armenia again. The school is coming along fine, they've got the furniture sorted and it will be opened late summer."
Iommi and DEEP PURPLE/ex-BLACK SABBATH singer Ian Gillan have spent a lot of time in Armenia, fallen in love with the country and the people and have dedicated a lot of work to a nation still shocked after the earthquake that struck Armenia on December 7, 1988.
Iommi told BBC News that penning a song for Eurovision was a "new experience" for him.
"I've done a lot of things, but never that," he said.
"The thing is, I've always thought, 'oh no, not the Eurovision,' and here I am in it now."
After representatives from the Armenian Eurovision entry got in touch with Iommi to ask if he could write a song, "I first said, 'Oh, God, I don't know' — it seemed really strange, me doing a Eurovision song, I don't usually do that," he said. "But I said, 'I've got a rock ballad, I'll send it over.'" Iommi added he "really" hoped "Lonely Planet" did well in the contest, but said he expected it to be "slagged [off] like everything else does." 8

AXL ROSE On Classic GN'R Reunion: 'It's Not Somewhere I'd Go Back To Or Would Want To Go Again'Adelaide Now conducted an exclusive interview via e-mail with GUNS N' ROSES lead singer Axl Rose. A couple of excerpts from the chat follow below.
Adelaide Now: You don't seem like someone who trawls Facebook or Twitter or YouTube. Do any of the fan or media comments filter through to you? What are your thoughts on social media?
Axl: I'm not that directly involved with social media, though we do use it with GN'R. I'll make a post here and there. I get shown or told about things people think I'll have an interest in, updates. I like that our fans can keep up to date and connect with each other.
Regarding social media, I really don't understand what appears to be the general population's lack of concern over privacy issues in publicizing their entire lives on the Internet for others to see to such an extent... but hey it's them, not me, so whatever. However, when so many seem to be making similar choices regarding their privacy to where it seems to become the norm, and in turn businesses use someone's lack of involvement with social media to marginalize or stereotype and stigmatize them, or use it as grounds not to hire someone, I feel it's extremely unfair and seems a bit Orwellian.
Adelaide Now: A lot of people appreciated the fact you stuck to your beliefs and didn't do something to please other people. You must have noticed a precedent for members of other bands reuniting for the right amount of cash or prestige — not the best motivation.
Axl: The surprising amount of public support has felt good and, as I've said, is a relief.
In regard to other bands what another person or band does is just that, meaning it is what someone else chooses to do for whatever reasons. I, like anyone, can have an opinion about those choices, but ultimately it's not my life or my band and how it affects my life is negligible. As for money and prestige, if one has an opportunity to make money and/or advance their position or place in life there can be a lot to weigh and consider, such as responsibilities, goals and objectives etc. We all make choices, deal with our sense of priorities, principles, ethics, morals, balancing, juggling, making compromises... or not! Ha!
Adelaide Now: One interesting issue it raised was the question of the romantic idea of an original lineup reforming, no matter the reason behind them no longer working together. Billy Corgan has talked about a "porn fantasy" some fans have of the original PUMPKINS lineup touring again, which he continually has to say will never happen. What are your thoughts on this?
Axl: I understand the "romantic" thing, the desire, the fantasy. Personally I haven't wanted other bands to reunite, or really enjoyed it when they have. For me generally something always seemed missing.
But GUNS is my life, not someone else's. For me, there hasn't been a way to make any type of reunion work, regardless of money (either talk or legitimate), without jeopardizing what I feel is the well being and best interests of nearly everyone I'm involved with in the GN'R camp (including myself). People here have big investments of their lives in what we're doing. We've worked hard for what we have here now and continue to do so. I know what I went through then. I know what I and all of us have gone through since. People enjoyed the product and the entertainment our lives gave them back in the day, but they weren't the ones actually living those lives together. It's not somewhere I'd go back to or would want to go again. Life's too short.

BLACK LABEL SOCIETY: 'Unblackened' Setlist RevealedBLACK LABEL SOCIETY's long-talked-about "Unblackened" DVD, which was previously scheduled to be filmed in late August at The Mayan in Los Angeles, California, and was then pushed back to January, was finally shot last night (Wednesday, March 6) at Club Nokia in Los Angeles. The set contained intimate versions of some of BLACK LABEL SOCIETY's most popular songs, as well as songs from mainman Zakk Wylde's solo album "Book Of Shadows" and his Southern rock band PRIDE & GLORY. The show featured Wylde on guitar and piano, alongside the members of BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, as well as a four-piece string section, pedal steel, and special guests. The concert was also broadcast live exclusively on AXS TV. A CD/DVD will be released later this year.
According to Grammy.com, the setlist for last night's show was as follows:
01. Losin' Your Mind
02. The Blessed Hellride
03. Sold My Soul
04. Road Back Home
05. Spoke In The Wheel
06. House Of Doom
07. Queen Of Sorrow
08. Machine Gun Man
09. Sweet Jesus
10. In This River
11. Throwin' It All Away
12. Takillya (Estyabon)
13. Won't Find It Here
14. Rust
15. Speedball
16. I Thank You Child
17. Stillborn
A clip of the performance can be seen below.
"This is something we haven't done yet, and we wanted to give our fans something new," Wylde said a couple of months ago. "You can take a song that you've played thousands of times and rearrange it, and all of a sudden it's something totally fresh. The attitude of the songs doesn't change when we play them acoustically — the tunes are gritty regardless."
"[It will be an] acoustic/electric type of thing," Wylde said in a 2012 interview. "Kinda like how the Christmas record is or like how we did 'The Song Remains Not The Same' where you've got an acoustic and then you can put a rippin' solo something. So I'll still have the Marshalls going with the acoustic stuff. It'd be almost kinda like if PINK FLOYD was doing an unplugged thing and they did 'Comfortably Numb' but Dave [Gilmour] will be sitting down but he'll still rip that solo out. It'll still be electric and then we’ll have the string section behind it and the whole band and it'll be killer." 3

ROB ZOMBIE/ex-MARILYN MANSON guitarist John 5 last year spoke to DailyHerald.com about the songwriting process for the score for "The Lords Of Salem".
"Rob would give me direction, like, 'I want it to sound like this, or I want it to sound like that,'" John, whose real name is John Lowery, said. "It's very primitive, not your everyday-sounding instruments. I would use a violin bow across an acoustic guitar or clank on things or use other odd musical instruments. Then, of course, you have your bassoons and french horns and everything under the sun for other parts of the score. It's very unorthodox, if you will, but it really was a lot of fun. It was a lot of work and it was a big challenge. It turned out amazing, though. I'm very proud of it; that's for sure."
He added, "I wanted the theme of this movie to be very simple, like 'Jaws' or 'Halloween' — something that's so easy to remember. When you see the movie, you'll understand what I'm talking about. I really wanted to concentrate on the simple things that ring in your head. I wanted to do something easy in that sense so people could remember it and hopefully have fun with it."
Asked if he had a lot of visual elements to work with, the guitarist said, "We [John 5 and producer Griffin Boice] would get visuals, or we would get a scene or two and just go off of it from there. It's really amazing when you see a shot with nothing there and then create this sound. It's pretty incredible to see how it all comes to life.
"It's funny, the power of music. I was watching 'Dracula', the 1931 version with Bela Lugosi, and the only music you hear is at the very beginning of the credits. There's not one other piece of music; it's all silent. It's unbelievable and it's very effective, too." 1

IN THIS MOMENT: Official 'Adrenalize' Lyric Video ReleasedThe official lyric video for the song "Adrenalize" from Southern California's IN THIS MOMENT can be seen below. The track comes off the band's fourth album, "Blood", which sold around 20,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 15 on the Billboard 200 chart.
IN THIS MOMENT spent the weekend of February 16-17 filming a video for "Adrenalize". The band's vocalist, Maria Brink, wrote afterwards: "There are no words to express how grateful I am for the creative process of shooting our new 'Adrenalize' video. It was a weekend-long deal and so rewarding; by far our best video ever and best piece of visual art we have created! So excited for you all to see it and be a part of it! Big things are happening more every day!"
Released on August 14, 2012 via Century Media Records, "Blood" was once again produced by Kevin Churko, who has previously worked with OZZY OSBOURNE and FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, among others.
IN THIS MOMENT began work on the new album just a few months following the departures of drummer Jeff Fabb and guitarist Blake Bunzel, who left the band in 2011 in order to join the backing group of "American Idol" finalist James Durbin. Fabb and Bunzel have since been replaced by Tom Hane (THYATEIRA) and Randy Weitzel (FLATLINE, 3/13, AMERICAN MASSACRE), respectively.
"Blood" was released in December as a double-disc set through Hot Topic. The special package contained the full original "Blood" album on one disc, and a second disc that featured a cover of the NINE INCH NAILS classic "Closer", as well as four additional new remixes of songs on "Blood":
* "Blood (Sluggo Remix)"
* "Adrenalize (Mr. Kane Remix)"
* "Whore (Nikka Bling Remix)"
* "The Blood Legion (Mitch Marlow Remix)" 4

Video: Ex-WHITE LION Singer MIKE TRAMP Presents 'Cobblestone Street' Album, SingleFormer WHITE LION singer Mike Tramp will release new solo album, "Cobblestone Street", in Europe on April 8 via Target Records in the following formats: CD, limited digipack CD (with two bonus tracks), LP and digitally. After the release, Mike Tramp will head out on an ongoing tour in Europe.
"Cobblestone Street" is a departure from the sound that most people would expect from a singer that has been around since WHITE LION crashed on to the hard rock scene in the '80s. Rock fans have gotten to know Mike Tramp as a legit rock singer and frontman that looked like he was born to be just that. Therefore many might find it surprising that Tramp's roots and musical upbringing lie deeply buried in folk music.
Heavily influenced by fellow Danish artists with acoustic guitars and international stars like Bob Dylan, Neil Young and Bruce Springsteen, Tramp says that all of his songs through 35 years on the music stage, have always come from sitting with the old faithful acoustic guitar playing and singing. That WHITE LION songs like "When the Children Cry", "Broken Heart" and "Wait", and FREAK OF NATURE's "Rescue Me" later have ended up as epic rock classics is just a question of arranging them in that way with the band in the rehearsal room, but all songs have always been fit to play around the campfire or in the back of a shady bar.
What seems like the most natural thing for an artist, can sometimes be the opposite for both fans and critics! Still, Mike Tramp has full confidence in the fans that have followed and grown with him through the past 25 years and know that they will stand by his side and enjoy his new solo album, although they might be in for a big surprise from the former WHITE LION and FREAK OF NATURE frontman.
Tramp says that he is so at home with the new album, and in lack of better words, it's really like coming home after a long journey that has taken him around the world over the past 30 years.
"I am not lost, I am not confused, I am not taking a break," he says. "This is the album I have waited a long long time to record, because I didn't have the guts to do it earlier on. Still, it's not just a matter of doing an album like this and then returning to the screaming Marshall amplifiers, thundering bass and drums like canons. This is where I am, and this is where I am going to stay as a solo artist, and anytime the urge to play loud rock'n'roll awakes in me, it will be some kind of band project where I am just the singer and part of the package."
Last year, Tramp traveled across Europe playing 40 shows, while driving and doing everything by himself.
"This is the most rewarding and fulfilling tour I have ever done, and that coincides with an album that represents all of that, and is just real completion to what I have worked so hard to accomplish."
"Cobblestone Street" was recorded over a week in Medley Studio in Copenhagen, Denmark in summer of 2012, with just Mike and his good friend engineer/co-producer and multi-instrumentalist Søren Andersen.
"Some of the songs I wrote 20 years ago, and some songs just the week before I recorded them, but they are all a 100% representation of who Mike Tramp is," Mike says.
Tramp says he hadn't really planned to do an album, but one day called up Søren Andersen and said he had a lot of songs that he wanted to hear come out of the speakers. "I showed up in the studio and Søren said, 'Why don't you just sit down with the guitar and mic and recorded the songs the way you wrote them, kinda like your big hero Dylan did long time ago?' At the end of the day, we had recorded the first four songs, with Søren adding some keyboards and percussion. It was a wonderful feeling sitting there in the couch listening to the songs that were rough and naked, but at the same time so complete."
Tramp says he feels that "Cobblestone Street" is like a movie, a movie about his own life in great details. Once it ends, you will know who Mike Tramp is.
