"In Memoriam", the new video from British thrashers EVILE, can be seen below. The clip was shot on April 29 in the North of England with director Ben Thornley of Sitcom Soldiers (THRICE, THE BLACKOUT, DEAF HAVANA).

"In Memoriam", which is inspired by the group's late bassist Mike Alexander, who died in 2009 following a blot clot on his lungs, is available now as a digital single on iTunes, including an acoustic version of the track, a radio edit, and the official music video.

Commented EVILE drummer Ben Carter: "We are really excited for our fans, both new and old, to see our video for 'In Memoriam'. It's a different sound and approach for us, definitely, but we hope our fans appreciate the sentiment and reason this song exists. There's a lot of context in the song that everyone will at one time or another relate to, and we hope we have captured that essence in the video.

"We didn't want to rush this video and get it wrong at all; we didn't want there to be any falseness, so what we have created is something which we are all very proud of, which perfectly captures everything we felt after losing Mike, and moving forward with [new bassist] Joel [Graham]. We hope this becomes a mainstay of our live set in the future, and we also hope that everyone who watches takes something positive from the video. Live life, and enjoy!"

Added EVILE lead guitarist Ol Drake: "The initial idea was to release the 'Cult' video, as we did, then immediately get onto recording the video for 'In Memoriam'; this was easier said than done. It's been well documented why the song exists. When it came to getting the 'right'/'appropriate' treatment for the video, it was a lengthy process. The song is so close to all of us that we wanted to make sure the video complemented the song and its subject matter, and that all four of us were happy with how the song will be portrayed visually. If we'd have settled on the first idea after 'Cult', we wouldn't have been happy, so amidst touring and gigging, we've been working hard on getting this 100% before we move on to the next video. The song is basically about loss, which we can all relate to, so we wanted to express that in the video, while staying respectful to why the song exists."

EVILE played "In Memoriam" live for the first time ever on February 11 at the HMV Ritz in Manchester, U.K. in memory of WOODS OF YPRES frontman David Gold, who tragically passed away on December 21.

EVILE's third full-length album, "Five Serpent's Teeth", sold around 680 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD landed at position No. 35 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.

EVILE's previous CD, "Infected Nations", opened with around 460 units to debut at No. 132 on the Heatseekers chart.

Australian melodic power metallers BLACK MAJESTY will release their new album, "Stargazer", on July 20 via Limb Music. Dirk Illing (SCORPIONS, WIZARD) once again handled the album's artwork, which continues the theme of the band's past works.

BLACK MAJESTY began recording drums back in October 2011 with Roland Grapow (MASTERPLAN, ex-HELLOWEEN) at Grapow Studios in Slovakia and spent several months in its homeland of Australia laying down guitars and vocals. Grapow also mixed the CD, which will feature the following songtitles, among others: "The Fallen", "Edge Of The World", "The Killing Hand", "Lykan" and "Journey To The Soul".

DEVICE, the new industrial-style project featuring DISTURBED vocalist David Draiman and former FILTER guitarist Geno Lenardo, has finished laying down vocals for demo versions of five songs that will appear on the band's debut disc:

* "Vilify"
* "War Of Lies"

Draiman revealed the existence of the project last March, saying it would be in the vein of industrial acts like NINE INCH NAILS and MINISTRY. He later announced that Lenardo was joining the group, although further members' identities have yet to be unveiled.

DISTURBED went on an open-ended hiatus last fall, with Draiman saying at the time that all four members wanted some time to pursue other endeavors. "We've got other things that each of the band members wanted to pursue individually, outside of DISTURBED," he said. "There's other businesses we have, there's other interests. We've got futures hopefully to help cultivate for our families and our children, and they can't all revolve specifically around DISTURBED."

DISTURBED has not indicated when it plans to return, although all four members say they're likely to come back.

Aside from Draiman, DISTURBED bassist John Moyer has branched out recently by joining ADRENALINE MOB, a new group also featuring ex-DREAM THEATER and AVENGED SEVENFOLD drummer Mike Portnoy.

RISING WEST, the new band featuring Michael Wilton, Eddie Jackson, Scott Rockenfield and Parker Lundgren of QUEENSRŸCHE, along with powerhouse vocalist Todd La Torre of CRIMSON GLORY, has posted the following message on its official Facebook page:

RISING WEST will be interviewed on this coming Thursday's (June 7) edition of "The Men's Room", which airs on the Seattle station KISW 99.9 FM. You can listen to the program live via the Internet at link text beginning at 4:30 p.m. PST.

RISING WEST will make its live debut on Friday, June 8 and Saturday, June 9 at the Hard Rock Café in Seattle, Washington. The band will perform rare and classic hits from the first five QUEENSRŸCHE albums — from the 1983 EP through 1990's "Empire" — and plans on hitting the studio sometime early summer to begin recording its first release.

La Torre, who says that QUEENSRŸCHE has been his favorite band since he was 15 years old, first met Wilton at this year's NAMM convention in January in Anaheim, California.

"Just for the record and for those asking about CRIMSON GLORY, I am NOT leaving CRIMSON GLORY, I am embarking on another musical endeavor with the members of QUEENSRŸCHE," Todd wrote in an online posting last week. "I am proud and honored to be a part of this! CRIMSON GLORY is still writing new material for our record, DO NOT WORRY This is going to be an amazing new chapter."

He added, "The media and 'fans' can be quite brutal, but I would like to say thank you for all of your amazing support.

"I have nothing but respect for what Geoff Tate has done to the genre. His voice is still amazing. The only thing that is constant is change. I hope the fans of QUEENSRŸCHE, and I'm one of them, will continue to show respect for him and all he has accomplished."

QUEENSRŸCHE singer Geoff Tate entered the studio on February 29 to begin recording his second solo album.

Tate released his first solo CD in 2002 on Sanctuary Records. Self-titled, the LP was a huge departure from the work he had previously done with QUEENSRŸCHE.

In a 2011 interview with Loudwire, singer Mike Muir was asked if SUICIDAL TENDENCIES or INFECTIOUS GROOVES were working on any new material. "SUICIDAL TENDENCIES, we basically got three records done," he replied. "It's just putting them together in a time frame and then the touring. INFECTIOUS is right behind, but you can't be in two places at once, you know?! We don't want to do anything unless we actually want to do it, and I know for a lot of people, they haven't been doing it for as long as we have. They kind of just want to go on the road because they don't like their life, they don't like their family, and I'm the opposite. So when [my kids are] older, I don't want them to say, 'Dad, why are you running around the world for and you weren't there for me?' I want there to be a situation where they know if I'm not there, there's a good reason for it. We know when to say 'no' and we do things for the right reason. Everything we do, it's something we want to do, it's something cool, not just because someone called up and we're like, 'Well, we got nothing better to do.' It's just that certain standard and I think that's why we're able to be here almost thirty years later where if we just did things that other people thought were good opportunities or smart, I wouldn't be here now."

"No Mercy Fool!/The Suicidal Family" was released in September 2010 via Suicidal Records. The CD featured re-recorded tracks from SUICIDAL TENDENCIES' second album, "Join The Army", as well as tunes from the second full-length from NO MERCY, SUICIDAL TENDENCIES' guitarist Mike Clark's speed metal band (which found SUICIDAL TENDENCIES vocalist Mike Muir on vocals) from 1986.

SLAYER performed its classic 1986 album "Reign In Blood" in its entirety at All Tomorrow's Parties' second U.K. "I'll Be Your Mirror" event, which took place on May 25-27 at Alexandra Palace, London, England.

SLAYER guitarist Jeff Hanneman has been forced to sit out the band's current tour dates due to complications from a spider bite.

Hanneman contracted necrotising fasciitis, a flesh-eating disease, from a spider bite over a year ago.

EXODUS guitarist Gary Holt is filling in for Hanneman on SLAYER's summer tour, which began at All Tomorrow's Parties.

SLAYER's latest album, "World Painted Blood", sold 41,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 12 on The Billboard 200 chart.

Finnish horror metallers DIRGE ETERNAL, who feature former TURISAS bassist Hannes Horma on guitar, have parted ways with drummer Patrik Albrecht. the group states, "[Patrik] is moving away from Riihimäki to Sipoo and his possibilities for practicing with us regularly are close to zero. Everybody is really positive about the situation and Patte has promised to help us if we still need a drummer for the shows to come and at the same time we are looking for a new drummer."

DIRGE ETERNAL recently completed work on the "Under The Spell" EP at Sound Supreme Studio in Hämeenlinna, Finland. In addition to playing lead guitar on the CD, Horma served as engineer and producer during the sessions.

Veteran San Francisco Bay Area thrashers EXODUS inaugurated their summer festival season with a performance this past Saturday, June 2 at the Scion Rock Fest in Tampa, Florida. With Gary Holt still handling guitar duties for Jeff Hanneman on SLAYER's North American and European tour, EXODUS invited out none other than former bandmember Rick Hunolt to fill in for Scion and other shows.

Longtime EXODUS fans will recall that Hunolt — the other half of the famed EXODUS "H-Team" who is on every studio recording from 1985 through 2004 and co-wrote some of the band's best-known songs such as "A Lesson In Violence" and "Deliver Us To Evil" — left EXODUS after the band's highly-acclaimed 2004 reunion album, "Tempo Of The Damned". "Murder In The Front Row", the recent photo book documenting the pinnacle of the Bay Area thrash scene, aptly documents Hunolt's tenure in the band.

Following his departure, Hunolt was replaced by HEATHEN guitarist Lee Altus.

Hunolt previously rejoined his former bandmates at a special concert in celebration of Holt and Lisa Perticone's wedding on September 24, 2011 at Avalon in Santa Clara, California. He also performed with them at "Bonded By Baloff: A Decade Of Remembrance", a special concert which marked the 10-year anniversary of former EXODUS singer Paul Baloff's passing. The event took place February 4 at the Oakland Metro Operahouse in Oakland, California.

Holt has confirmed that he will be joining his EXODUS bandmates for their Graspop Metal Meeting performance in Desel, Belgium on June 23 for a special lesson in violence with a three-guitar attack!

Ex-TNT singer Tony Harnell rejoined his former bandmates for their 30th-anniversary concert this past Saturday, June 2 at the Clarion Hotel in Trondheim, Norway. The group performed a special setlist while accompanied by the Trondheim Symphony Orchestra (Trondheim Symfoniorkester). Also making a special appearance with the band was TNT's original singer, Dag Ingebrigtsen.

After leaving TNT in 2006, Harnell was replaced by British singer Tony Mills (SHY), who has since appeared on three studio albums from the band: 2007's "The New Territory", 2008's "Atlantis" and 2010's "A Farewell To Arms".

Harnell's final release as a member of TNT was the "Live in Madrid" DVD, which came out in September 2006 via MTM Music. The set, which was filmed on April 1, 2006 in Madrid, Spain, was accompanied by an 82-minute audio CD plus booklet liner notes from Harnell about his work with the group as well as an additional tour documentary by Darren Paltrowitz.

I AM WAR, the new Orange County, California-based act featuring Alex Varkatzas (vocals; ATREYU) and Brandan Schieppati (guitar, vocals; BLEEDING THROUGH), will release a limited-edition seven-inch vinyl single featuring the songs "Bat Out Of Hell" (off their forthcoming album) and "Call Me Slugger" (vinyl exclusive). A limited number of the vinyl has been pressed in both white and hot pink, with 225 only available of each color.

I AM WAR's debut album, "Outlive You All", will be released on August 28 via Razor & Tie. The CD was produced by Mick Kenney (ANAAL NATHRAKH).

Artists Den Entertainment and Universal Music Group will release "Robert Plant & The Band Of Joy: Live From The Artists Den" on 5.1 Blu-ray and DVD in the U.S. on July 10. Rock And Roll Hall Of Famer Robert Plant has over 40 years invested in his legendary career in music — and he's still going strong. In 1967, he formed a group called the BAND OF JOY with drummer John Bonham, before the two joined with guitarist Jimmy Page and bassist John Paul Jones the following year to form the world-renowned LED ZEPPELIN. After his 2007 "Raising Sand" collaboration with Alison Krauss garnered him six Grammy Awards, Plant created a new BAND OF JOY, which features Nashville native Buddy Miller and Artists Den alumna Patty Griffin. Their widely acclaimed album, "Band Of Joy", was nominated for "Best Americana Album" and "Best Solo Rock Vocal Performance" at the 2011 Grammy Awards.

Hardcore/metal veterans VISION OF DISORDER (a.k.a. V.O.D.) have completed work on their new album, "The Cursed Remain Cursed" for a tentative September release via Candlelight Records. The CD was produced by Will Putney (SHADOWS FALL, SUICIDE SILENCE, FOUR YEAR STRONG) and was mixed by Cameron Webb (MOTÖRHEAD, SOCIAL DISTORTION, IGNITE, PENNYWISE). Mastering duties were handled by Alan Douches at West West Side Music in New Windsor, New York.

In an interview with Terrorizer magazine, VISION OF DISORDER frontman Tim Williams stated about the band's new CD, "This record is vintage V.O.D., but we've all grown as musicians and individuals since the last stuff we released. It's pretty diverse. You've got songs like 'Blood Red Sun' that are among the most forward-thinking, progressive things we've ever done, while still being real vicious — but there are some straight-up numbers too, like 'Hard Times' and 'Loveless'. Lyrically, it's coming from a pretty dark place, falling into the pits of one's own personal hell, and having to crawl out or die down there, plus there's some more political stuff, too. This has been a long time in the making and we just went with what felt right."

VISION OF DISORDER recently filmed a video for the song "Set To Fail", which is expected to be the first single from "The Cursed Remain Cursed".

Regarding the musical direction of VISION OF DISORDER's new material, bassist Mike Fleischmann previously told Greg Prato of UGO, "The songs are what you would expect from V.O.D. — very aggressive and melodic. We really feel that on these new songs we have kind of mixed up all of our past efforts into a blender with a dash of new flavor, and we are excited to see what V.O.D. fans will think of it."

VISION OF DISORDER's current lineup includes singer Tim Williams, guitarists Matt Baumbach and Mike Kennedy, Fleischmann and drummer Brendon Cohen.

The band's last studio album, "From Bliss to Devastation", came out in 2001 via TVT Records.

VISION OF DISORDER toured with some of metal's biggest names during the late 1990s — including PANTERA, BLACK SABBATH, TYPE O NEGATIVE, ANTHRAX and BAD BRAINS — before calling it quits in 2001, and then reuniting in 2008.

Spanish metal band DOPPLER has inked a deal with Mighty Music. The group's debut album, "Apophenia: I Error", will be released on August 27.

According to a press release, "Apophenia: Type I Error" is "an album based on low tuned riffs and complex polyrhythms, which could easily be related to genres like djent or math metal." The CD was recorded at Sadmen Studios (ADRIFT, HUMAN MINCER, HAMLET) and mastered by Jacob Hansen at Hansen Studios (HEAVEN SHALL BURN, RAUNCHY, ABORTED). The result is eight tracks whose lyrical concept deals with the different phases of a tortured schizophrenias mind, moving through different episodes that feature different feelings from hilarious conditions to surreal abstractions.

DOPPLER emerged in 2003 when Rafa, Dani and Gago got together in order to give free rein to their concerns and create music that shows their eclectic range of influences, which involve disparate elements such as metal, rock and even industrial music. Years passed by until Albano Fortes (BODY ON SECTIONS, ex-HYBRID) in early 2008 joined as their definitive frontman, contributing with his interest for more extreme sounds, and completing what still is the actual lineup. After this, the band spent a long time in their rehearsal studio rearranging their old stuff and writing new tunes, developing their sound and finally achieving their trademark sound.

No Sleep Records has announced the signing of San Francisco-based metal quintet EARLY GRAVES. The band will enter the studio in July to record its third full-length album for a fall release.

EARLY GRAVES formed in the Bay Area in early 2008 and released two full-length albums, "We: The Guillotine" (2008) and "Goner" (2010), on Metal Blade Records' Ironclad imprint. The band's sound has been described as a mixture of old-school Swedish death metal and American hardcore punk and has drawn comparisons to NAPALM DEATH, CARCASS, TRAGEDY and TESTAMENT, among others.

In the summer of 2010, tragedy struck when EARLY GRAVES was involved in a van accident, which resulted in the death of singer Makh Daniels. After about a year of contemplation, the band decided to continue on, with close friend, John Strachan, of THE FUNERAL PYRE (who were in the same van during the accident) stepping in for Daniels.

The band reconvened with Strachan helming vocals at last summer's Power Of The Riff festivals in Los Angeles and San Francisco alongside PELICAN, PENTAGRAM and more. Since then, the band has battered the western half of the U.S., appearing at Scion's Metal Matinee series with the CRO-MAGS and performing with such bands as NASUM, GHOUL, RINGWORM and CANCER BATS.

In early 2012 EARLY GRAVES began writing and recording demos for their follow-up to "Goner" and first with Strachan.

"After enduring every shitstorm the proverbial 'universe' can throw at us for last few years, we are extremely excited to be releasing our new batch of burners on No Sleep Records," says guitarist Chris Brock. "No Sleep Records may not seem like a likely landing spot for a band like us, but Chris and No Sleep release music that they care about and want to work with, which is something we can definitely get behind.

"I won't bore with you with a 'our new album sounds like mixed with this mixed with that' or 'it's heavier, faster, more melodic' bullshit, but I will say that we are happy to be releasing it with a label that likes it as much as we do."

Set for release on July 31, the landmark long player has been completely remastered and enhanced by Brad Boatright (SLEEP, NOOTHGRUSH, OFF!) and includes the addition of the band's first-ever demo, two bonus seven-inch tracks as well as a 48-page booklet.

"The Art Of Self Defense" was initially released in 2000 by Man's Ruin Records. Featuring the collective energies of guitarist/vocalist Matt Pike, drummer Des Kensel, and bassist George Rice with producer Billy Anderson, the record billows at the seams with Pike's instantly recognizable guitar tone, first unleashed during his days with stoner metal behemoths SLEEP. FaceCulture has uploaded a video portrait of the Dutch composer, multi-instrumentalist, vocalist and AYREON mastermind Arjen Anthony Lucassen. The seven-minute clip, which was shot in and around his home in the Netherlands, can be seen below. In the video, Lucassen speaks freely about his love for science fiction and running, his music obsession (and the accompanying rituals and routines), and the depression that deprived him of his desire to make new music.

Lucassen's new concept solo album, "Lost In The New Real", entered the official chart in his home country at position No. 16 and the Dutch alternative chart at #No. 2.

The story of "Lost In The New Real" follows Mr. L, a 21st-Century man who was cryopreserved at the moment of clinical death from a terminal disease. The album begins as Mr. L is being revived at a point in the distant future, when technology has advanced enough to cure his disease. Mr L finds himself in a world that has drastically changed — to the point that the line between what's real and what's not is no longer clear.

Mr. L's appointed psychological advisor (played by legendary screen actor Rutger Hauer) is tasked with helping him emotionally adapt to this strange new world. The songs on CD1 follow the main character Mr. L's emotional journey as he is confronted with both serious and comical aspects of the "New Real", and desperately tries to decide if he can find a meaningful place within it.

CD2 is a mix of songs that are part of the concept but didn't fit on CD1, and cover songs that are (more or less) related to the concept. As Arjen's fans have come to expect, informative and humorous "behind-the-scenes" videos are added to both CDs as CD-ROM tracks. Lucassen recently enlisted the talents of legendary screen actor Rutger Hauer as the narrator on "Lost In The New Real".

LEANDER RISING, the Budapest, Hungary-based band featuring NEVERMORE guitarist Attila Vörös, will release its self-titled debut album in the U.S. on July 17. The 14-song CD heads straight for the adrenal gland focusing on melody coupled with passionate fury, combining blends of brutal riffs and punishing breakdowns with huge anthemic and driving melodies for an original sound that is all their own. LEANDER RISING was originally intended as a solo project for its namesake Leander Köteles, but evolved into a full-fledged band when his first video for the song "Bound To Belong" created an Internet buzz throughout Hungary and caught the attention of Attila Vörös, a young and well-known guitarist who has also toured worldwide with Seattle metal band NEVERMORE. Attila reached out to Leander via e-mail and their collaboration began. In the beginning, Attila only came on to do some guest solos but as time went on they found their true sound was together.

While Attila was touring in the U.S. with NEVERMORE, Leander decided to cover and put his spin on LADY GAGA's "Bad Romance", which became the most viewed and successful video in the project's history at that time. Incorporating Hungarian Dances from Brahms, his version will be the special bonus track on the upcoming U.S. release.

Jonne Järvelä previously stated about KORPIKLAANI's new album, "'Manala' is the realm of the dead — the underworld in Finnish mythology. Tuonela, Tuoni, Manala and Mana are used synonymously. This place is best known for its appearance in the Finnish national epic Kalevala, on which many of our new songs are based. In the 16th poem of Kalevala, Väinämöinen, a shamanistic hero travels to Manala to seek for knowledge about the dead. On the journey he meets the ferrywoman (similar to Charon), a girl, Tuonen tytti, or Tuonen piika (Death's maid), who takes him across the river of Tuoni. However, on the isle of Tuoni he is not given the spells he was originally looking for and he barely manages to escape the place. After his return he curses anyone trying to enter the place alive."

"Metsälle", a new song from KORPIKLAANI, can be downloaded for free at NuclearBlast.de (e-mail sign-up required).

"Metsälle" was originally recorded late last year when the band was competing to represent Finland in the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest. The track will appear on KORPIKLAANI's forthcoming eighth album.

Commented Jonne Järvelä: "'Metsälle' can be seen as kind of a prayer to the ancient gods to ask for luck for the tough hunt deep in the woods in cold winter time. Not only is the old man in the song praying for success but — even more importantly — for a safe way through the dangerous frostiness."

KORPIKLAANI previously stated that "Metsälle" "is about the hunt on Hiisi's magical moose in the Northland. He (Lemminkäinen) puts on his charmed ski's and takes off for a prolonged hunt through forests and meadows, marshlands and woodlands, rapids and rivers. This song describes part of the Kalevala story, the national epic of Finland."

"Manala" will mark the recording debut of the band's new fiddler, Tuomas Rounakari.

KORPIKLAANI's latest CD, "Ukon Wacka", was released in North America on February 25, 2011 via Nuclear Blast Records.

LUCA TURILLI'S RHAPSODY has made its new single, "Dark Fate Of Atlantis", available for free download in its original album version of six minutes and 29 seconds at this location. In August 2011, RHAPSODY OF FIRE guitarist Luca Turilli and keyboardist Alex Staropoli announced their decision to go their separate ways.

Due to legal reasons, Staropoli will continue under the RHAPSODY OF FIRE name. Turilli, on the other hand, will make his future efforts available under the RHAPSODY moniker (RHAPSODY OF FIRE's original name), in which he will be joined by guitarist Dominique Leurquin, bassist Patrice Guers, singer Alessandro Conti (TRICK OR TREAT) and drummer Alex Landenburg (AT VANCE, ANNIHILATOR, MEKONG DELTA, STRATOVARIUS).

In a recent interview, Turilli stated about "Ascending To Infinity", "Honestly, this album is very important for me, and personally, it is the one I always dreamed to record. The basic composition process lasted around five months. In this period of time I worked at the rhythm of 12-14 hours per day and, while very hard because very demanding mentally and spiritually, this was one of the most rewarding sessions of composition of my whole life. It rarely happened I had so much fun playing the guitar, the keyboards or my beloved piano and creating original classical parts, cinematic interludes, orchestrations and all the rest. As you know, I don't hire external people to orchestrate the music, but I do all by myself writing the music for each section of the orchestra, the choirs etc. and this sometimes can be a very long and hard process stealing a lot of time and energy. I cannot deny that this is a very ambitious album, because of the investment, artistic vision etc., and all the people working on it, Nuclear Blast included, are thinking the same."

Regarding the change in the production team for the LUCA TURILLI'S RHAPSODY album, Luca said, "After many years of work in Wolfsburg at the court of our friend Sascha Paeth, I decided to start this new artistic adventure with a different team of people. Sascha and the other friends of the Gate Studio (Miro, Olaf, Robert, Simon, etc.) are a winning team and their help in the past was really important for RHAPSODY. But it's since many years already that Alex and I took the productions in our hands, becoming producers of our own albums, despite Sascha remaining always fundamental as engineer and mixer man. His mixes will remain legendary and our list of thanks will be never long enough for all the professional contribution he gave. All the years of work, fun and sufferance in the Gate studios of Wolfsburg will surely remain unforgettable and are carved in our heart. For LUCA TURILLI'S RHAPSODY and the new band adventure, I decided to change the studio and the main man behind the console. We [recorded] the new album at the Backyard Studio of Kempten, Germany. In a recent interview with Gimme Noise, Bret stated about his upcoming CD, "My album will be out this summer and I'm really proud of what we've done with it. It's actually going to be called 'Bret Michaels And Friends: Get Your Rock On', and I'll explain why: It's really not just a Bret Michaels album. I had so many other talented artists come in and support that it's really a 'Bret Michaels And Friends' album. There's a staggering amount of talent on this album — from Ace Frehley of KISS to Michael Anthony of VAN HALEN to Loretta Lynn and Lil Jon. Sal Costa of MY DARKEST DAYS, Joe Perry of AEROSMITH and Phil Collen of DEF LEPPARD are on there as well. It's been such a fun project for me and I'm excited to share it with the fans."

Speaking to Rolling Stone magazine in February, Bret revealed that his new solo album will feature a remake of the POISON smash "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" as a duet between him and Loretta Lynn>. He said, "For me, growing up in a family that my father loved country music and 'Coal Miner's Daughter', this is gonna be a really awesome time."

He added, "The song 'Get Your Rock On' has Phil Collen playing guitar with me and it also has Sal Costa from MY DARKEST DAYS — [a] really, really good guitar player and good friend. Jimmy Buffet and I did a live version of 'Margaritaville' together."

Michaels said the two duets, with Lynn and Buffett, will be "two bonus tracks." And of the rest of the record he said, "It is just straight-up in-your-face rock and roll."
