ANGRA/ ALMAH Singer Edu Falaschi Goes GreenSinger Edu Falaschi (ANGRA, ALMAH) has recently participated in the recording of a song that is to be a part of a new animal protection campaign, fighting against social violence and destruction of the environment. The action is inspired by ANDA – The News Agency of Animal Rights – Brazilian organization established by the journalist and animal defence activist, Silvana Andrade. Edu Falaschi recorded a song together with such renowned national artists as Lucinha Lins, Elba Ramalho, Cláudio Lins, Carlinhos Brown, Patrícia Marx, Tetê Espíndola among others.
According to the vocalist, he is always very happy to take part in such kind of projects and that the environmental protection and animal defence awareness should always be promoted. If everyone does what he can, even any little effort will give the humanity more chances to change the actual situation, believes Edu.
The song will be released soon in Brazil by the initiators of the project. To learn more about ANDA organization in Portuguese click here.
Falaschi is currently touring with Angra supporting the brand new studio album of the band Aqua, out now via SPV/Steamhammer. The band recently performed in Japan (two shows at Loud Park Festival) and Taiwan (one headlining show in Taipei). Until the end of 2010 Angra will continue making shows in Brazil, and on January 13-14th the band will play in USA together with another legendary Brazilian-based metal act, SEPULTURA. A headlining European Tour is planned for February, 2011. Angra has been recently confirmed as a participant of Rock In Rio 2011 Festival. 10

MR. BIG - What If... Album Details RevealedFrontiers Records has announce the European release of MR. BIG’s new studio album, entitled What If…, on January 21st. The North American release, also on Frontiers Records, shall follow in February with more exciting details to be announced.
What If… is Mr. Big’s first “all original” album since the reunion of the four original members, Eric Martin, Paul Gilbert, Billy Sheehan and Pat Torpey back in early 2009. Sixteen years after the release of Hey Man, the new recording is set to bring back Mr. Big on the height of the current hard rock scene.
Guitarist Paul Gilbert said: “This is the first Mr. Big album I have been a part of, since fourteen years and it was done in a snap. It was fun and we had really a good time in making this one.”
Continues Billy Sheehan: “It’s so great to be back with Paul, Eric and Pat too. We wrote this record like we did in the old days for the first 2 records. Jamming together in the same room to write songs.”
Pat Torpey adds: “Some of the recording process is different now from what we were used to in the old times. But I think this record really managed to capture the performances of the band, not of the individual musicians."
Eric Martin concludes: “I like to compare this to the first album, when we just got to know each other in a reharsal studio and cut it in 8 or 9 days. This is like chapter 2. We had so many years, so many records and so many things behind us. Now this feels like a beautiful brand new chapter starting for all of us.”
What If… was produced by Kevin Shirley (AEROSMITH, RUSH, IRON MAIDEN) and the release will be followed by a World Tour which will kick off in South America in March and will hit Europe in early summer.
Formed in 1988, Mr. Big forged its place in hard rock history by combining trademark "shredding" musicianship with awesome vocal harmonies. The original lineup – vocalist Eric Martin, guitarist Paul Gilbert, bassist Billy Sheehan, and drummer Pat Torpey. Mr. Big produced numerous hit songs that ranged across a wide array of rock genres – be it ballads, heavy metal, or blues rock.
Their hits included 'To Be With You"'(Billboard Hot 100 number one single in 15 countries for weeks, in 1991, propelling the band the band to huge international success and record sales in the multi-millions), 'Wild World', 'Green-Tinted Sixties Mind', 'Just Take My Heart', and a host of heavy metal songs that were played mostly during their live performances: 'Daddy, Brother, Lover, Little Boy', 'Addicted To That Rush', 'Colorado Bulldog', and 'Take Cover'.
What If… will be released in a special edition CD + DVD in digipak, regular CD, vinyl and digital download and in a limited edition luxury box including the CD, DVD, LP and exclusive memorabilia.
What If… tracklisting:
'Undertow'
'American Beauty'
'Stranger In My Life'
'Nobody Takes The Blame'
'Still Ain’t Enough For Me'
'Once Upon A Time'

'All The Way Up'
'I Won’t Get In My Way'

The DVD will include the videoclips of 'Undertow' and 'All The Way Up' plus a documentary “Making of” the album including interviews and exclusive behind the scenes features of the four members.
The first single, 'Undertow', will have an official promotional launch on November 27th. 19

CODE: 3rd Album and Line-Up NewsWe have not been in hibernation, but merely stealing ourselves, plotting and concocting since we returned from our European tour last year. There have been many changes in the Code camp and we would like to bring some of them out into the open for the carrion to feed...
Our, so far untitled, 3rd album is slowly emerging from it's crysalis. It's a mutant creature that's evolving and forming of its own will, as we mould to it and bring it to life. We are currently working on some experimental vocal lines and arrangements, re-arrangements and re-arrangements. Kvohst and our wordsmith Andrew Nicol are threading the letters through the needles and so far Aort has composed 10 unrefined and deathly heavy, raw working tracks. As you may crave, this new album will be a continuation of pushing the boundaries of progression and developing the strange world of Code further off the map and into uncharted zones - there will be many things that will shock, bewilder and flabbergast and yet there are many notions that pull the sound into a more organic and raw state this time around...
We are very elated to announce that we have, at last, found a full-time drummer for Code who is very much the soul we've been searching for and fits the mould like a blackbird glove. He is an old hand on the skins and has had extensive previous experience pounding drums in a range of diverse acts. We would like to welcome Lordt to the cult of the wayside pastors.
We would also like extend our thanks and belated welcome to Andras, our lead guitarist who joined the band on a permanent basis during our Eurpean tour and who played the beautiful solo in "I Hold Your Light" on Resplendent Grotesque. Andras has been a powerful performer and astounding musician with Code and we are very inspired by the energy and remarkable craft he brings to the fold.
In other news, we are sad to announce that, due to his current re-ignition with DHG and their busy schedule, plus our desire to build a stronger and more stable, permanent lineup, Vicotnik will not be able to join us for this recording and so he has departed the band. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks for all his invaluable support since the early days of the band. Those who have come to love the eccentric basslines in Code will not be disappointed with his successor however, and we feel that the new blood is just what the hearse-nurses ordered to allow the band to grow and mutate. It has always been part of Aort and Kvohst's formula for Code that the bass lines have their own part to play in the sound and makeup of the band and so this will absolutely continue and evolve. The process will be hard and strict, but we are currently testing out replacements, and in the mean time, we have our good friend Ilia from Indisenence filling in on session bass duties for some, as yet undisclosed, forthcoming live shows. Some of you may remember Ilia when he performed with the band in Bitterfeld, DE and Brutal Assault, Czech Republic, with the band in 2008. We are looking forward to raising some hell with him again soon. 2

DANGER DANGER\'s Ted Poley Taps CHRIS CAFFERY Guitarist For New Solo BandDANGER DANGER vocalist Ted Poley announces the addition of guitarist/keyboardist Paul LaPlaca to his solo touring band. LaPlaca has previously worked with such acts as ZO2, ZANDELLE and CHRIS CAFFERY (TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA, SAVATAGE). Poley's current roster also includes drummer Dennis Leeflang (LITA FORD, BUMBLEFOOT), guitarist Maz Mazza (40 FT. RINGO, DETROIT CHEETA) and bassist Doug Odell (ALL POINTZ WEST, ICE AGE). The new lineup is scheduled to make its live debut on December 3rd at Klubben Fryshuset in Sweden.
Paul's inclusion in Ted's touring band continues a busy year for the multi-talented musician, which most recently saw him serving as associate producer of the new album from SplitScreen Entertainment, Whole Lotta Love: An All-Star Salute To Fat Chicks. For this unique project, LaPlaca produced five tracks in total, working with members of L.A. GUNS, QUIET RIOT, W.A.S.P. and TWISTED SISTER.
"It's just been a crazy year so far and every day is completely different." states the in-demand Paul LaPlaca. "Working on the Whole Lotta Love album was an incredible experience, with so many different styles and such outstanding musicians. After that I was able to squeeze in some tech duties for one of my all-time favorite bands, LIVING COLOUR. In between I worked a Disney fashion show and manned a camera for insanely talented drummer Jojo Mayer. I was even flown from New York to Tampa to shoot a product demo for Rocktron. Now instead of taking a break, I'm preparing for the European festival date with Ted Poley, a reunion show with members of OCTOBER THORNS and a live set of metalized Hanukkah favorites with NY's own GODS OF FIRE. I guess I can sleep when I'm DEAD!"
Making LaPlaca's induction into Poley's band all the more appropriate is the fact that he'd previously produced a song called 'Ted Poley' for the 2008 tribute album Kiss My Ankh: A Tribute To Vinnie Vincent. A parody of the Kiss song 'Unholy' by Vincent and Gene Simmons, the song was performed by rock & roll comic C.C. Banana and even featured current Poley bandmate Dennis Leeflang on drums. The track has proven to be a favorite with Ted's fans and has been used to open his solo shows ever since.
Considering that Poley himself recently signed with A.R.M. Entertainment (management firm of such notable talent as Bret Michaels, L.A. Guns and DOKKEN), Paul anticipates keeping busy for foreseeable future.

EVERGREY: New Album Details Revealed Swedish metallers EVERGREY will release their eighth studio album, "Glorious Collision", via Steamhammer/SPV on the following dates:
Germany: February 25
Rest Of Europe: February 28
USA/Canada: February 22
Occasionally a musician has to take a step back into the past to develop artistically. Tom Englund, guitarist and vocalist with EVERGREY, took this risk and reorganized his artistic environment. "The most recent EVERGREY lineup had reached a point where we no longer had fun as a group," he confesses, adding: "So we went our separate ways to save our friendship. There were no angry words, and we're still friends privately."
Naturally, the decision to break up wasn't easy for these long-standing friends, especially for Englund and his remaining keyboardist, Rikard Zander, for whom a continuation of EVERGREY was never called into question. Yet they both had to face a new challenge. In the beginning, we weren't sure whether we'd be able to write a new album without the wealth of experience that the previous lineup brought in," Englund says. "But after Rikard and I had composed a full three numbers during the first week, we felt that was a real coup."
Listeners will feel this positive energy throughout "Glorious Collision", which is described as "a dynamic goody bag featuring the most diverse material ever released on an EVERGREY album." "This may sound like a contradiction in view of our personnel situation, but Rikard and I have allowed more influences on 'Glorious Collision' than ever before," Englund says. "Some elements on 'Glorious Collision' are classic rock, based on a metal format, sometimes the tracks are quiet and haunting, sometimes wild, demanding and gripping."
This diversity is also expressed in the instrumentation of this extremely dynamic studio production which presents the new band members Marcus Jidell (guitar), Hannes Van Dahl (drums) and Johan Niemann (bass). "It's great to hear what a breath of fresh air Marcus, Johan and Hannes have brought into the band," Englund enthuses. "Although the entire material, except for two songs to which Marcus contributed on the compositional side, had already been decided when we started recording, they all left their own, very personal mark on this album." The great experience of Jidell and Niemann, who have worked with acts such as ROYAL HUNT and THERION, among others, and have now contributed lots of positive energy together with the 20-year-old drummer Van Dahl, can be felt throughout the album.
"Glorious Collision" track listing:
01. Leave It Behind Us
02. You
03. Wrong
04. Frozen
05. Restoring The Loss
06. To Fit The Mold
07. Out Of Reach
08. The Phantom Letters
09. The Disease ...
10. It Comes From Within
11. Free
12. I'm Drowning Alone
13. ... And The Distance
14. ... And The Distance (Carina bonus track) 10

STRATOVARIUS Drummer Diagnosed With Cancer Swedish keyboardist Jens Johansson of multi-national melodic metallers STRATOVARIUS has issued the following update:
"Dear STRATOVARIUS fans, I am afraid we have some quite terrible news. News of the worst imaginable kind. It's about our friend and [German] drummer Jörg Michael [STRATOVARIUS].
"Jörg has cancer.
"He recently discovered a lump on his neck, went to the doctor, they decided to operate, and found what they call 'a malignant thyroid neoplasm.' They took out his whole thyroid just to have the best chance to get everything out. He will also have to undergo a regimen of radiotherapy.
"He is a fighter. We have all talked to him and it's clear that this guy is not down for the count. He and his team of German doctors are pissed off and ready to kick ass, and I would not want to be a little cancer cell on these guys' shit list.. believe me.
"Jörg and his family (and us guys in the band) found this out only last week, after the operation. Naturally we are all going between a lot of emotions, sadness, worry, shock, confusion, even anger.
"As for STRATOVARIUS, as you perhaps know, there is a long tour coming up with HELLOWEEN, and with the surgery and therapy that will now follow there is no way Jörg can do the first part of the tour. For me personally, I at first felt quite hopeless about the tour, because I was so upset about all this news. But Jörg himself has been extremely clear that he does not want the band to cancel a single show because of this. In the end, this is what made at least me feel better about going back hitting the road next week.
"So, we have debated what to do for many days now. Jörg first suggested my brother Anders to do this November-December 2010 leg, but it turns out Anders will, unfortunately, be busy recording some record or other with that little indie cellar band of his called HAMMERFALL. :o)
"After a lot of searching, we found a guy that both can do it and didn't have other commitments: Alex Landenburg [AT VANCE, ANNIHILATOR, MEKONG DELTA]. He plays well, Jörg says he is a great guy (very important!) and he even started learning the set already before we even had decided what to do, which to me shows a lot of dedication. You can Google Alex's name if you are curious.
"So it turns out that STRATOVARIUS will do the first leg of the HELLOWEEN '7 Sinners' tour, just as planned, only not with Jörg behind the kit, but with Jörg very much as a motivator to us being there. Not one single date will be cancelled or changed.
"Jörg wants to be back on the road with us again as soon as possible depending on the thearapy, but we are not making any promises; that one is up to powers even higher than Jörg Michael and his doctors.
"We will try to keep you somewhat updated.
"Anyway, the most important thing is that they think they got all the bad stuff out and that the end result is that we just fix that sentence I wrote above. We will then say: Jörg had cancer. But he beat it." 31

CHICKENFOOT Has 14 New Songs In The WorksLast week Bryan Reesman's Attention Deficit Delirium spoke to guitar guru Joe Satriani, who is currently on the road in Europe, about Satriani's latest solo album, "Black Swans And Wormhole Wizards", and the forthcoming CHICKENFOOT CD, which is in the works. Back in the spring, Satriani mentioned that one song that the group was working on was called "Come Closer".
"I haven't listened to it in months," confessed Satriani. "I've been busy, as you can tell. Right after I finished mixing the 'Black Swans' record, I got home and had a few weeks and wrote 10 songs and sent them off to Sammy (Hagar; ex-VAN HALEN and current CHICKENFOOT singer). Right now he's sitting on 14 songs that he's writing melodies and lyrics to, and the original band will get back together at the end of January to record [the second CHICKENFOOT album]. Right now my hand is totally into this [solo tour], so I don't have any room for any other material. I am just getting to the point where I can memorize the tour set and start to mess around with it, so I don't want to get another band's set list into my head and disrupt everything."
Drummer Chad Smith recently confirmed that he won't tour with CHICKENFOOT next year in support of the band's second album due to scheduling conflicts with his main group, the RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS. 5

GRAHAM BONNET Signs On For Second LYRAKA CDLYRAKA has announced the signing of legendary rock vocalist Graham Bonnet (RAINBOW, MSG, ALCATRAZZ) for the recording of their second CD, Lyraka Volume 2. The composer and lead guitarist, Andy DiGelsomina, has stated, "For the second album, Graham will not only be adding his voice to the songs, but will be involved in the songwriting. I would be foolish to pass on an opportunity to collaborate with the man who co-wrote songs like 'Assault Attack', 'Desert Song', and 'Island In The Sun'."
A statement from Graham Bonnet reads: "I have been given opportunities in the past to do many kinds of projects; a word I don't like because it is one used, in my opinion, too many times. Lyraka is an adventure for me. Jasmine and Andy have given me the chance to sing and be involved in the creative side of a new world. I think we have come up with something unique. This is a different path; a road less travelled and a new light. Thanks to Jasmine and Andy for their great images... they makes my job all that much easier."
Session work for Lyraka Volume 2 will begin in February 2011. Bonnet will also be enlisted for narrative work in the upcoming Lyraka movie, slated for production in 2013.

'Classic Rock Presents - JIMI HENDRIX: The Guitar Hero\' Coming In DecemberFuture, the special-interest media group, has revealed the latest release in its premium-collectable "Classic Rock Presents" "fan pack" series. A new partnership with Cardinal Releasing Ltd. in association with Emperor Media Ltd. and the highly acclaimed "Classic Artists" series brings its first DVD special. "Classic Rock Presents - Jimi Hendrix: The Guitar Hero", a documentary narrated by modern-day guitar god Slash.
Hitting newsstands across the U.K. on Wednesday, December 15 with a coverprice of £14.99, "Classic Rock Presents - Jimi Hendrix: The Guitar Hero" is a collectable package, headlined by the unauthorized Hendrix documentary which aired earlier this year on BBC Four. Directed and produced by respected rock filmmaker and lifelong Hendrix fan Jon Brewer, the film was named Critics Choice by Sunday Times Culture magazine.
"Classic Rock Presents- Jimi Hendrix: The Guitar Hero" comes with a special edition of Classic Rock magazine — a 132-page deluxe companion to Jon Brewer's acclaimed documentary film. Edited by legendary rock journalist Mick Wall, the collector's package is completed with an exclusive Jimi Hendrix poster.
"Jimi Hendrix: The Guitar Hero" is the first film which focuses on the music itself and the impetus behind the master who created it. Intended to be the final word on the influential guitar virtuouso, the documentary looks at Hendrix as the master of the electric guitar, as told by a who's who of the world's greatest musicians. In a series of all-new and exclusive interviews, the film includes contributions from Eric Clapton, Lemmy Kilmister, Paul Rodgers, Stephen Stills and many more, as well as Hendrix family members, close friends and contemporaries.
Future will make the Classic Rock special available through its extensive U.K. magazine distribution network, totaling almost 4,000 outlets, including high street, independent, online and supermarket retailers. Fans can pre-order now from this location. The documentary will receive a conventional DVD release on Monday, February 28, joining other films in the "Classic Artists" series.
Jon Brewer, director and producer of "Jimi Hendrix: The Guitar Hero", said: "It took us four years to create this film, ensuring that Hendrix fans across the world finally got to hear the untold story. I believe we have succeeded in our mission, as feedback to date has been 100% positive. We chose to partner with Future and Classic Rock for a release on their new fan pack format, as they understand our chosen artist and have a loyal audience of music lovers that will appreciate the collectability and quality of this lavish offering. Through their relentless passion and creativity, the Classic Rock team has produced an undeniably superb special edition."
Chris Ingham, group publisher of Future's Classic Rock and Metal Hammer, added: "We're delighted to present our first documentary using our popular fan pack model. Jon Brewer's work is internationally renowned amongst the music community and fans, so we're proud to deliver the companion magazine to his excellent film about the greatest rock guitarist ever. We're committed to working with the industry on creating these unmissable collector's packages for leading bands and musicians."
"Classic Rock Presents - Jimi Hendrix: The Guitar Hero" joins Future's stable of "Classic Rock Presents" titles. The company's first fan pack release earlier this year, "Classic Rock Presents: Slash" was devoted to the eponymous guitarist's debut solo album and sold 30,000 copies, a month before the standard album release went top 10 in the U.K. album chart. 3

OVERDRIVE Extends Deal With LION MUSIC; \'Angelmaker\' Due In JanuaryClassic Swedish metal merchants OVERDRIVE have extended their deal with Lion Music to include the band's upcoming album, "Angelmaker", due out in January 2011. This time the band wrote and recorded 18 songs, 12 of which will appear on the final product.
Commented guitarist Janne Stark: "This time we used a panel of 15 people to help us select which tracks to use. It was really great to hear what people outside of the band thought of the tracks before we decided on which to put on the album. Some of our own favorites were not as high up on the list as expected, while others were higher than expected, which was interesting. Hopefully our listening panel reflects the general public, which then would make this a killer album."
The CD was recorded by the band and Johan Blomkvist (BLINDED COLONY, KAPTAIN SUN) and mixed by Pelle Saether (GRAND DESIGN, DIABOLICAL, WOLF) at Studio Underground.
"I have worked with Pelle on several other recordings, such as LOCOMOTIVE BREATH, MOUNTAIN OF POWER and ZELLO, and he has an ability to understand and capture just the sound you're after," Janne stated. "He did that this time, too. To be honest, this is the best-sounding OVERDRIVE album to date."
The band has also, for the first time, included a cover song. It's a classic heavy metal arrangement on the Russ Ballard-penned track "I Know There's Something Going On", originally recorded by Frida, of ABBA fame, back in 1982.
OVERDRIVE, formed in 1980, still features original members Janne Stark and Kjell Jacobsson on guitars, Kenth Ericsson on bass and Kenta Svensson on drums, plus vocalist Per "PerilOz" Karlsson, who joined the band at the reunion in 2003 and has since been an integral part of the lineup.
The "Angelmaker" cover, which is yet to be revealed, was once again created by acclaimed cover artist Monowasp (TNT, HOUSE OF LORDS, PLACE VENDOME).
On December 3, OVERDRIVE will support PRETTY MAIDS in Karlshamn, where the two bands previously shared the stage back in 1983!
