Swedish heavy metallers ENFORCER were involved in a serious bus crash while on tour in their homeland. The band, which is on the road in Europe as the support act for Australian hard rockers AIRBOURNE, was travelling from Oslo to Stockholm in a snowstorm at around 3:00 a.m. this morning (Wednesday, November 10) and was near its hometown of Arvika when the group's vehicle skidded on ice, crossed over to the other side of the road and experienced a head-on collision with a snow-plough.

ENFORCER guitarists Adam Zaars and Joseph Tholl, bassist Tobias Lindqvist and the band's driver were battered and bruised, but miraculously all survived the crash with only minor injuries. A county police officer at the scene said, "They had a guardian angel." The band's vehicle was destroyed in the accident, but their equipment, which was in a trailer attached to the vehicle, was luckily unscathed. ENFORCER frontman Olof Wikstrand and drummer Jonas Wikstrand were travelling in a separate car at the time and were not involved in the crash.

ENFORCER has regretfully been forced to cancel its appearances tonight in Sweden and on November 12 and November 13 in Finland and will be using the time to recuperate and recover from the nerve-wracking incident. They will resume the tour on November 16 in Berlin, Germany.

ENFORCER has issued the following statement regarding the accident: "We're all alive and well but we're really sorry to cancel the gigs in Stockholm, Tampere and Helsinki. We're working really hard to get back on the road again soon!"

Danish melodic death metallers MERCENARY have inked a deal with NoiseArt Records and Rock The Nation booking. The band's sixth album, "Metamorphosis", was produced by Jacob Hansen (RAUNCHY, VOLBEAT, NIGHTRAGE, HATESPHERE, PYRAMAZE) and will be released on February 25, 2011. In addition, the group has been confirmed for the "Power Of Metal Tour 2011" alongside SYMPHONY X, NEVERMORE, PSYCHOTIC WALTZ and THAUROROD.

Commented MERCENARY: "After a long period of significant transformations and hard work, we're finally able to shed some light on circumstances regarding the release of our upcoming, sixth album. The album will be entitled 'Metamorphosis', and it will be released on the 25th of February through NoiseArt Records. Welsh "ragga metal" act SKINDRED has set "Union Black" as the title of its fourth album, due on May 2, 2011. The CD is currently being recorded at Britannia Row Studios in London with producer James Loughrey.

Commented SKINDRED frontman Benji Webbe: "This is the first album we have written and recorded in the U.K. It's a big departure from our usual sunny California or Florida surroundings; it's bloody freezing!

"The album will be darker and heavier than any of our previous recordings and I've not been this excited whilst writing since I was a kid! 'Union Black' is bringing the darker side of the 'DRED out, for sure!"

SKINDRED will perform its first shows of 2011 as the special guest on the now-sold-out ROB ZOMBIE U.K. tour in February. These dates are ZOMBIE's first in the U.K. after a 12-year hiatus.

SKINDRED recently inked a worldwide publishing deal with BMG. The deal takes into account all songs written by all four band members to date as well as their individual work as writers with frontman Benji Webb also penning cuts on BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE's last album and new Roadrunner Records signing REVOKER, whom he is also producing.

"Shark Bites and Dog Fights", the latest mini-album from SKINDRED, sold around 2,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The CD landed at position No. 21 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.

"Shark Bites and Dog Fights" was released on September 22, 2009 via Bieler Bros. Records. The record contains eight songs, including "Who Are You?" and "Calling All Stations". It was produced by Matt LaPlant (SIKTH) at Bieler Bros. Studios in Pompano Beach, Florida.

VELVET REVOLVER guitarist Slash says in a new interview with Backstage Axxess that the band has tried out a few new singers but has yet to find the right replacement for departed frontman Scott Weiland. Slash reveals in the interview, "We had a couple of guys in the week before last. We have some more guys coming in next week or the week after . . . For the most part, there have been some really good singers. (But) trying to find the right guy for this thing is a lot more complicated than one would probably think. So we will keep on toiling away until we hit that magic and when that happens then everything will start rolling."

VELVET REVOLVER has been without a vocalist and on hiatus since dismissing Weiland in April 2008, although there have been rumored candidates to take the job from time to time.

Slash recently finished a tour in support of his debut solo album and will work with VELVET REVOLVER for the rest of this year, before heading out on the road again in January with OZZY OSBOURNE.

The legendary guitarist told The Pulse of Radio that even when he has time off, there's one thing he likes to do: "Work (laughs). Really, downtime, you know -- unfortunately for most people around me, I don't relax well. So I have to be busy and I have to be focused on something. For me, it's fine. It keeps me out of trouble, but for everybody else, it's sort of like, 'Can't you just sort of chill, you know?' But it doesn't work."

Meanwhile, VELVET REVOLVER will release its first concert DVD on November 16, titled "Live In Houston". The 12-song, 78-minute disc was filmed in 2005 while the band was touring behind its 2004 debut album, "Contraband". In addition to tunes from that record, the DVD also includes songs from its members' other bands, GUNS N' ROSES and STONE TEMPLE PILOTS, along with interviews with all five band members at the time.

Norwegian/British hard rockers TNT will release their new album, "A Farewell To Arms", in Japan on December 15 via Avalon/Marquee. The CD will be issued in Norway at the end of December.

Danish folk metal band SVARTSOT has issued the following update:

"During work on material for the planned third album, the decision was made that Cliff Nemanim [rhythm guitar] should leave SVARTSOT's ranks.

"Since joining the band in January 2009, Cliff has become a good friend and we have shared many memorable experiences with him. We wish Cliff all the best with his present and future projects.

"Although we cannot yet announce a replacement for Cliff, we are continuing to work on preparation of the material for recording, and do not expect any interruptions in our plans."

Bassist Jan Bünning of German power metallers PARAGON has issued the following update:

"After two successful shows we played with our new lineup at the Swordbrothers IX festival and at the Halford in Berlin, we are now started to gather first ideas for our next album. So far we made rehearsal demo recordings of four ideas more to come. Buschi [vocalist Andreas Babuschkin] also already wrote some lyrics for one of the songs and they fit pretty good. We also already spoke with one of our favorite producers a while ago and hope that he will produce our next record. I guess some of you can already imagine who it is."

BRO JOVI, a "rabid, alcohol-fueled beast" featuring current and former members of ABIGAIL WILLIAMS, ABORTED and SYSTEM DIVIDE, has set November 16 as the digital release date for its first LP, "Songs To Crush Beers To Vol. I: Slippery When Blacked". PINK FLOYD singer/guitarist David Gilmour is unimpressed with the state of the music industry, insisting modern singers fail to measure up to his icons NEIL YOUNG and LEONARD COHEN.

Gilmour hates hearing the current crop of chart-toppers on the radio, and would much rather listen to tracks from his own era. He tells Britain's Daily Express, "I keep waiting for someone who is as good as the old favourites I love, like Neil Young and Leonard Cohen, but I wait in vain - I can only live in hope."

And Gilmour admits he's wary of digital downloads because he's convinced the practice of releasing music through the Internet will one day backfire.

He adds, "The old record industry is falling apart. The new system is run via a different system and the internet is driving it. I don't know at what point one will look back at it and think of this period as a blip but I suspect something like that will happen."

As previously reported, fans seeking to purchase some of Pink Floyd’s classics albums on iTunes have hit a wall. All of the legendary band’s post-Dark Side Of The Moon albums have disappeared from online MP3 retailers, due to the group’s contract with EMI that covered those works, which ended on June 30th, according to the Associated Press.

That means you can’t buy The Wall, Animals or Wish You Were Here on iTunes, Amazon’s MP3 shop or many other locations. The physical copies of those albums are still available on CD, but only because EMI has a stock of those recordings that it can still sell. However, if Pink Floyd doesn’t sign with another distributor (or re-sign with EMI), their latter-day albums could become rare. The earlier works, from Piper At The Gates Of Dawn through Dark Side are part of a different contract and remain available on CD or as digital downloads.

Pink Floyd’s management has been trying to find the best home for the band’s full catalogue for the past year or more, but has yet to come to an agreement with any major label. Although many groups have had trouble selling albums in recent years, Pink Floyd remains one of the best-selling acts of the Nielsen SoundScan era. Since 1991, the group has sold more than 36 million albums in the United States. Relying solely on older products, Pink Floyd sold 654,000 copies last year and 311,000 so far in 2010. In recent years, digital downloads have accounted for about 40 percent of the band’s sales.

Guitarist Dave Navarro of alt-rock legends JANE'S ADDICTION attended this past Thursday's (November 4) premiere party for Jamie Kennedy's Showtime special "Uncomfortable" at Drai's in West Hollywood, California. Two separate interviews with Navarro conducted by PopStop TV and Hollywood TV on the event's "red carpet" can be viewed below.

When asked what JANE'S ADDICTION is currently doing, Navarro told PopStop TV, "We're actually writing quite a bit and getting ready to go into the studio in December and start recording tracks and hopefully have something by early next year."

JANE'S ADDICTION — featuring Chris Chaney on bass — headlined the musical program on October 17 at Tony Hawk: SHRED Presents Stand Up For Skateparks, the annual fundraiser benefitting the Tony Hawk Foundation and its mission to create free, quality skateparks for at-risk youth throughout the U.S.

Bassist Duff McKagan parted ways with JANE'S ADDICTION in September after just five months of playing with the group. The VELVET REVOLVER and ex-GUNS N' ROSES member joined the band earlier this year after it split with founding bassist Eric Avery.

JANE'S ADDICTION quietly reunited in late 2008 for a third go-round, only with Avery on board for the first time since the band originally split in 1992. However, Avery left late last year and McKagan stepped in to play a few gigs and work on the band's new album.

JANE'S ADDICTION recently released its first-ever concert DVD and Blu-ray, titled "Live Voodoo".

There's no word yet on when the new JANE'S ADDICTION album will come out or what it will be called.
