The clip was shot in February with award-winning director Andreas Krohn and his crew. The band says, "Since we hadn't done any official music video since the 'Watch Out' video years ago [from 2004's 'Confusion Bay' album], we wanted to make something really cool with the band playing but with a storyline attached to it."
A short diary documenting the video shoot can be found at this location.
"Warriors" comes off RAUNCHY's latest masterpiece, "Wasteland Discotheque", was released on June 30, 2008 in Europe and July 7, 2008 in the U.S. via Lifeforce Records.
The Danish band split with Nuclear Blast Records in January 2005 after releasing two albums through the label (2002's "Velvet Noise" and 2004's "Confusion Bay"). 3

GNOSTIC: \'Engineering The Rule\' Track Listing, Final Artwork RevealedAtlanta, Georgia-based metallers GNOSTIC — who feature in their ranks three members of the current lineup of ATHEIST — will release their debut album, "Engineering the Rule", in Europe on May 25 via France's Season Of Mist (July 14 in the U.S.).
GNOSTIC's sound is described in a press release as follows: "Taking the progressive sound of death to a new level of aggression with jaw-dropping breaks delivered in stunning frequencies, the GNOSTIC principle of duality is expressed in a fine sense for melodies and emotionality contrasting with the technical perfection of their execution. As fans of ATHEIST, CYNIC, DEATH and PESTILENCE will flock to 'Engineering The Rule', they should heed this warning: caution! Trying to play air guitar along the songs may result in broken fingers and severely damaged wrists!"
"Engineering the Rule" track listing:
01. Visceral
02. Isolate Gravity
03. Sleeping Ground
04. Engineering the Rule
05. Wall of Lies
06. Violently Calm
07. Life Suffering
08. Corrosive
09. Mindlock
10. Splinters of Change
GNOSTIC will team up with ATHEIST, THE FACELESS, PSYOPUS and THE AGONIST for a North American tour, which is scheduled to kick off on July 8 in Atlanta, Georgia. ATHEIST/GNOSTIC drummer Steve "Penguin" Flynn commented, "We're absolutely thrilled to be doing this tour with such an incredible lineup of brutal technical bands. This bill is going to just peel your face off. Not only are all the bands insanely technical and heavy, but the lineup also covers a broad spectrum of style - from the almost avant-garde sound of PSYOPUS to the straight up technical death metal sounds of GNOSTIC and ATHEIST. Then you throw in the more modern break-neck technicality, unrivaled musicianship and speed of THE FACELESS, and the brutality of THE AGONIST, and you've got yourself one hell of a night. This will also be somewhat experimental in the world of technical death metal, as three of us (me on drums, Chris Baker on guitars, and Jonathan Thompson on bass [in GNOSTIC] and guitars [in ATHEIST]) are in two bands and playing TWO shows per night. I can't recall a similar situation in technical death metal. It will be a marathon-esque physical and mental exercise. This tour will also be GNOSTIC's debut to the world as we're supporting our first release via Season of Mist: 'Engineering the Rule' in July." 1

TARJA TURUNEN: Photos From Tour Rehearsals Posted OnlineFormer NIGHTWISH singer Tarja Turunen has uploaded photos from the rehearsal sessions for her North American tour, which is scheduled to kick of tonight (Wednesday, April 29) in New York City.
Tarja's band for the trek consists of the following musicians
Tarja Turunen - Vocals
Mike Terrana (MASTERPLAN, SAVAGE CIRCUS, ex-RAGE, ex-YNGWIE MALMSTEEN) - Drums
Maria Ilmoniemi - Keyboards
Oliver Holzwarth (BLIND GUARDIAN, ex-SIEGES EVEN) - Bass
Alex Scholpp (ex-FARMER BOYS) - Guitar
Max Lilja (HEVEIN, ex-APOCALYPTICA) - Cello
She writes on her blog, "All the band and crew, we have been in the Big Apple rehearsing for the shows. It felt so good to meet everybody again and start the fun.
"I am so happy to meet all my American friends tonight in the first show!
"It is very nice to play with the 'original' live lineup now. Has been one year since that happened last time!
"As many of you might know already, there is a health issue problems at the moment especially in Mexico, USA and Canada. Still, Mexico is the worst affected area and is very sad that people are dying because of this flu. Our condolences to all families of the flu victims. We all hope this will end up very soon. You might also know that I am supposed to have a concert pretty soon in Mexico City. I want to let all my fans know that as long as the government of Mexico does not cancel the public events, I am heading to Mexico and I’m going to have my show there. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that the disease gets under control and people can return to their normal life."
Spinefarm Records recently released a new digital single from Tarja Turunen entitled "Enough". The single features the title track plus the bonus song "Wisdom Of Wind"; both cuts are brand new recordings, although it's yet to be determined if they will feature on the singer's second full studio album under the Tarja banner.
Tarja Turunen has set "What Lies Beneath" as the working title of her new solo CD, tentatively due before the end of the year. She says, "With [2007's] 'My Winter Storm', I chose the name of the album in the early stages and that helped me to create the concept for the album. With the new album, I decided to do it the same way, so I searched for an inspiring title and all the songs are one way or another related to it."
Regarding the songwriting process for the new CD, Turunen says, "In the last months I've been writing a lot of music for my new album. Songwriting is always an amazing learning experience, and it has been a pleasure to discuss music with different people.
"The album process is still going on and I have more songs that are in the working. It is sounding very promising. The songs are absolutely more mature, wild, and emotional and they sound more me, if I can say so.
"The biggest difference in preparing this new album is that I will be taking the time that I need until the songs are in a shape that I am happy with. No matter how long it takes. I want it to be perfect for me. No hurry; no pressure."
Tarja's album "My Winter Storm" was re-released on January 2. This double CD "extended special edition" is packed with 32 tracks, including the CD "My Winter Storm" with the addition of the song "The Seer" in its original version. The bonus disc presents several new tracks, remixes and live recordings. Among them, the brand new song "Enough" and "The Seer", this time featuring a duet with German rock star Doro Pesch. Both tracks were mixed at Resonate Recording Studios by Toby Wright (SLAYER, KORN, KISS, ALICE IN CHAINS). Also included is the previously unreleased track "Wisdom Of Wind", composed by Jeff Rona and Lisa Gerrard and featuring the Beijing Philharmonic with Qingdao Symphony Orchestra recorded in China. The two-CD set is available as a digipack deluxe edition including an exclusive poster, new album cover and enhanced booklet containing new photos.
As an appetizer of "My Winter Storm Special Extended Edition", a limited-edition collector's item 11-track EP "The Seer" was released on December 1 in the U.K. only. 49

SWASHBUCKLE: \'Back To The Noose\' Artwork UnveiledNew Jersey's thrashing pirates SWASHBUCKLE have revealed the cover artwork for their Nuclear Blast debut, "Back To The Noose", due on July 31.
Commented the band: "Aye, we pirates three commissioned the likes of the finest artisan we could scour amoungst the blackhearts of digital designers for the artwork for 'Back To The Noose'. Adam Vehige is his name, and kicking conceptual ass is his game. We brought this legend of graphical creation our 'Back To The Noose' concept of Captain Crotchrot (our recurring decaying mascot miscreant) breaking free of the gallows to join an intense cannon warfare battle upon the ocean's blue. Adam accepted our payment of stolen gold shillings and doubloons (aye, blood money, and cursed it be) and rendered us some brutal cover art. If ye be seekin' nautical nonsense and high-seas hijinx, vicious splash-n-thrash attack and malicious moshing madness, ye will certainly be needin' no more persuasion than gazin' yar weary eyes upon our album art!"
SWASHBUCKLE was one of three winners of last year's Nuclear Blast MySpace Bands Contest.
The trio will hit Europe hard at Legacy Fest, Metal Dayz Festival and Summer Nights Festival this May in Germany, Switzerland and Austria, respectively. The band will also embark on Paganfest USA Part II tour on April 28 along with labelmates KORPIKLAANI and BLACKGUARD, among others. 1

NAHEMAH: \'The Perfect Depth Of The Mermaids\' Video Released"The Perfect Depth Of The Mermaids", the new video from Spanish prog-rock/art-metal band NAHEMAH, can be viewed here. The clip was directed by Manuel Garcia De Otazo.

Commented the band: "The new album is a step ahead in our music and lives. We have grown up as musicians and as persons, we have elevated our personalities, spirits and minds to places beyond our body and planet, they have been elevated to different atmospheres, to a new constellation."
Regarding the "The Perfect Depth Of The Mermaids" video, the group said, "The perfect depth of the mermaids is an allegorical and metaphoric chant to the perfect happiness. This perfect happiness is deeply inside of us, which is represented by the sea, and the mermaids are metaphores of the instruments that lead you to that perfect depth or happiness."
"A New Constellation" track listing:
01. Much Us
02. Abdsynthe
03. Follow Me
04. Reaching The Stars

AHAB: New Album Release Dates Confirmed AHAB, the German funeral doom metal band featuring MIDNATTSOL guitarist Daniel Droste on guitar/vocals and ex-MIDNATTSOL guitarist Christian Hector, will release its sophomore album, "The Divinity Of Oceans", via Napalm Records on the following dates:
July 22 - Finland, Spain
July 24 - Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Italy, Sweden
July 27 - Rest of Europe
July 28 - Canada, U.S.
The follow-up to 2006's "The Call of the Wretched Sea" contains seven songs and is based on the wreckage of the Essex.
The track listing is as follows:
01. Yet Another Raft of The Medusa (Pollard's Weakness)
02. The Divinity Of Oceans
03. O Father Sea
04. Redemption Lost
05. Tombstone Carousal
06. Gnawing Bones (Coffin's Lot)
07. Nickerson's Theme
According to the band, the guitar parts for AHAB's new album, which were mostly written by Daniel Droste this time, are "a bit more complex, yet in a funeral doom and death doom style." Hector says, "It sounds a bit like a mixture of the 'good ole' AHAB style mixed with very atmospheric tunes. So the description of AHAB as it's posted on Doom-Metal.com as a 'riffing funeral doom band' still is valid. You may say there are riffs, that sound a bit like Devin Townsend going funeral doom, CARCASS in slomo or MORBID ANGEL going beyond the slowness of 'Blessed Are The Sick'. Still to some extent the influence of our colleague of Tyranny can still be heard in some few riffs. So most of the music stays the same as you know it, although there are some hints to postcore and classical doom as well. It also maybe said, the songs are much more epic and vast. I think the new riffs fit perfectly to tell the story of the wreckage of the Essex! So Daniel made it quite easy for me to fit the lyrics to the music!"
AHAB is named after Captain Ahab, a character in the novel "Moby Dick" by Herman Melville. Along with its name, the band also draws thematic and lyrical inspiration from "Moby Dick" — some songs even feature direct quotations from the book.
AHAB is:
Daniel Droste: Guitar, Voices, Synths
Christian Hector: Guitar
Stephan Wandernoth: Bass
Cornelius Althammer: Drums 2

THE PROJECT HATE MCMXCIX Announces Lineup ChangesTHE PROJECT HATE MCMXCIX — the Swedish band featuring Jörgen Sandström (vocals; VICIOUS ART, KRUX, ex-ENTOMBED, GRAVE), Lord K. Philipson (guitar; TORTURE DIVISION, ex-GOD AMONG INSECTS, HOUSE OF USHER, LEUKEMIA) and Anders Bertilsson (guitar; COLDWORKER), has parted ways with bassist Michael Håkansson (ex-ENGEL, EVERGREY), singer Jo Enckell (SIREN ON), and drummer Thomas Ohlsson (ex-KAMTJATKA, AXENSTAR, SEVEN WISHES, CELLOUT).
Commented Philipson: "Many [fans] will wonder why Jo is relieved of duty after all these years. It's simple — we have done fantastic albums with her since 'Hate, Dominate Congregate, Eliminate' some seven years ago, but now we feel it's time to go for another type of vocals when it comes to the female parts. We are looking for something else to further enhance our sound. And we have found it. In fucken Portugal, of all places.
"Let us introduce Ms. Roque [a.k.a. Ruby Roque of WITCHBREED] to the fold. A killer chick with an absolutely fantastic voice, including range, dynamics and power. Ms. Roque [pictured below] is destined to make her mark in THE PROJECT HATE history with the strongest vocals we have ever had."
Regarding Ohlsson's exit and the decision to enlist Tobben Gustafsson of TORTURE DIVISION and VOMITORY fame as his replacement, Philipson stated, "It dawned on us some time ago; why the hell isn't [Gustafsson, who happens to be] one of our fave drummers and best friends playing drums for THE PROJECT HATE? We know what this guy is capable of and it's safe to say we'll get the finest drumming of our career with the next album by having Golden T on it. As said before, his nickname isn't fucken Golden for nothing, you know."
On the topic of Håkansson's departure, Philipson said, "We haven't heard from Michael Håkansson in quite some time. We actually don't even know what he thinks about the latest album. Whatever he's doing (probably repairing motorcycles and whatnot), we wish him the best, 'coz Michael is one terrific guy. He didn't play on [the latest THE PROJECT HATE album, 'The Lustrate Process'] and [I don't] mind doing bass so [I'll] do that on the coming albums as [I] used to before Michael entered the HATE fold on 'Armageddon' and 'Hora'."
THE PROJECT HATE is currently working on the material for its seventh album. According to Philipson, "Things are going really well with the songwriting and we are not walking away from the formula that's made us achieve recognition." He added, "We won't guess when all the material for this album will be completed but let us state that we are far into the process. We will work harder than ever before on this coming, guaranteed-to-be masterpiece. And trust us — it will be downright fucken phenomenal."

AEROSMITH Closer To Playing Full Album LiveDave Basner of VH1 Classic Radio reports: This summer, JUDAS PRIEST plan to perform their album "British Steel" in its entirety at their live shows, MÖTLEY CRÜE will play all of"Dr. Feelgood" at Crüe Fest gigs and AEROSMITH very well might be following the trend. Joe Perry says the band is pretty close to deciding if they’re going to perform one of their classic records in its entirety when they hit the road in June.
"Well, let's just say we’re closer to it than ever before," he said. "I'm not sure which record it would be, but we've kind of narrowed it down. I bet we'll end up doing it but we won't know until we're in the actual rehearsal studio."
If AEROSMITH does decide to play a full album live, Joe told VH1 Classic Radio which he'd like them to perform.
"I don't know," he said. "I think 'Toys in the Attic' would be fun. We do a lot of songs off the first four records anyway. We've jammed on 'Uncle Salty' onstage a few times. I don't know. The later records with more songs on them, they would take up too much time in the set. We need to leave some room for some of the other standards." 5

DARK TRANQUILLITY: Reissues And Compilation Of Demos Due in MaySwedish melodic death metal masters DARK TRANQUILLITY will re-release their classic albums "Projector", "Haven" and "Damage Done" in a luxurious slipcase packaging with bonus material as well as the rarities compilation "Yesterworlds" on May 25, 2009 in Europe via Century Media Records. All releases are available at a fan-friendly price and also feature extensive liner notes as well as new layouts and designs by guitarist Niklas Sundin. As a very exclusive bonus, the three album reissues also contain one song each from the band's upcoming DVD, "Where Death Is Most Alive", due later this year.
Commented the band: "We're happy to announce that 'Projector' (1999), 'Haven' (2000) and 'Damage Done' (2002) will be reissued with additional bonus content. As with the 'Fiction' reissue of last year, these new editions feature all the material that was recorded during the respective studio sessions, giving the listener the full experience of what was put on tape at the time."
In addition, DARK TRANQUILLITY will release a limited-edition album entitled "Yesterworlds", featuring the "Trail Of Life Decayed" demo (1991) and the "A Moonclad Reflection" 7" EP (1992).
The band stated: "The real gem, however, is that we found the master tape of an old promo recording that was made in March 1994 and only sent out to a handful of tape trading contacts and record labels. This is the first D.T. studio recording with Mikael Stanne on vocals and Fredrik Johansson on guitar, and it features 'Punish My Heaven', 'The Gallery' and 'Away, Delight, Away'. Also, 'Yesterworlds' features a version of 'Punish My Heaven' taken from the semi-legendary 'W.A.R. Compilation Vol. 1' album, originally released on Wrong Again Records in 1994. This is the first recording we made in Studio Fredman, and the song itself is a bit faster and less controlled than the album version found on 'The Gallery'."
These new versions feature brand new layouts and extensive liner notes from the band members.

CHILDREN OF BODOM Keyboardist\'s WARMEN: New Album Title, Release Date RevealedCHILDREN OF BODOM keyboardist Janne Wirman has set "Japanese Hospitality" as the title of the fourth album from his WARMEN project, due on August 24 via Spinefarm Records. The 10-song effort includes two cover versions — "Separate Ways", originally recorded by JOURNEY, and "Black Cat" by JANET JACKSON, featuring a guest appearance by the Finnish pop/rock queen Jonna Kosonen. Other guest musicians that appear on the CD include Alexi Laiho (CHILDREN OF BODOM) and Pasi Rantanen (ex-THUNDERSTONE).
Interviewed in January, WARMEN guitarist and Janne's brother Antti Wirman revealed that the album would be heavier than the band's previous output, with more aggressive guitar riffs. There will be just two instrumental tracks, and every song has a different singer. According to Antti, the next WARMEN album will be the group's strongest effort to date because it has "the best songs, best vocalists and the best sounds."
WARMEN's third full-length album, "Accept the Fact", was released in July 2005 via Spinefarm Records. The follow-up to 2002's "Beyond Abilities" included guest appearances by CHILDREN OF BODOM frontman Alexi Laiho and STRATOVARIUS singer Timo Kotipelto.
Kosonen, who was previously a member of the multiplatinum-selling Finnish female pop duo NYLON BEAT, had contributed her vocals to CHILDREN OF BODOM's cover version of the BRITNEY SPEARS smash "Oops, I Did It Again" (which appeared on the "In Your Face" single), and was also one of the guest musicians on "Accept the Fact".
"Japanese Hospitality" will be preceded by a brand new compilation, rounding up the best of the keyboardist's solo work to date. 6
