AGATHODAIMON Parts Ways With Frontman, Seeks ReplacementGerman black/death/gothic metallers AGATHODAIMON have issued the following update:
"After the short tour through Spain and Portugal in November, our vocalist/guitarist Frank 'Akaias' Nordmann revealed that he received an excellent job offer he can't refuse. Sadly this means he has to move to Norway, so he will leave the band. We collectively wish him all the best for his future plans and thank him for the great time we spent together in the rehearsal room, on stage and of course off stage as well!
"So, we're looking for a new vocalist and guitarist already. If you think you can handle both duties, you're welcome, too. A few very promising musicians already contacted us, so interested people should hurry and send their info over. Besides, the new album, which will be entitled 'Phoenix', is still in the works."
AGATHODAIMON last year announced the addition of bassist Till Ottinger (ex-MISANTHROPIC) to the group's ranks.
AGATHODAIMON's last album, "Serpent's Embrace", was released in 2004 via Nuclear Blast Records.

Ex-CRADLE OF FILTH Drummer, Former TESTAMENT Guitarist Confirmed For TENET ProjectSTRAPPING YOUNG LAD guitarist Jed Simon has issued the following announced regarding his TENET project:
"It's announcement time! There are some new faces in the TENET camp. It's my pleasure to introduce them.
"I welcome to the fold Adrian Erlandsson on drums.
"Adrian, as many of you may know, had spent the last seven years with CRADLE OF FILTH. Previous to that he was on the first THE HAUNTED album, 'The Haunted'... Fuck, I love that album, and of course, he played in the mighty, legendary, AT THE GATES.
"Adrian brings an enthusiasm to the table that is infectious. I respect his talent greatly, and after hearing what he has done with some of the demo tracks, I'm beyond excited. Perhaps we'll put some of the demo stuff up with him playing soon, although I may just save it for the album, hehe.
"Of course, you are now wondering why Gene [Hoglan; STRAPPING YOUNG LAD, ex-DARK ANGEL, DEATH] is not playing. I felt that after 10+ years in THE LAD it was time for a fresh start. And to be honest, I really needed to just 'step away' for a bit, and do something completely on my own. None of this reflects on my and Gene's relationship as friends... we will always be thick as thieves. Silly, pranking, metal-loving thieves. He IS my brother for life, as are the other SYL cats. That's about the best way I can explain it without getting too long-winded. OK? OK!
"On lead guitar I am very pleased to announce that Glen Alvelais will be doing the honors. Y'all know Glen from FORBIDDEN, TESTAMENT, and currently LD-50. This guy is simply one of the BEST guitarists I have ever heard. I remember when SYL did the TESTAMENT tour back in '97, and every night I'd just stand there with my jaw on the floor watching this guy play. I'm really stoked to have him on board.
"As for vocals, many of you are reading that Rob Urbinati from Canadian thrash legends SACRIFICE would be singing. This is partly true. Truth be told, I'm gonna give it a shot on vocals. I have to try, 'cuz this is all coming off of my sleeve, ya know? Rob will be singing, we're just not sure in what capacity yet. Stay tuned. Rob's voice is so good that it would be a shame for him not to appear, so don't worry...you'll hear Rob's 'Homicidal Breath' somewhere..."
Three demo tracks from TENET's upcoming "Sovereign" debut album — "Crown of Thorns", "Indulge Me" and "Unnameable" — have been posted ob the official TENET MySpace page. "These are new demos that I did as practice so I would have my chops up when I hit the studio," Jed previously said. "No vocals, no bass, but I think they are a little better than the older demo stuff that was up."
"Sovereign" is scheduled for release later in the year via Century Media Records.
Jed will appear at the Bernie Rico Jr. Guitars booth during this year's NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) convention, which is going to be held in Anaheim, California in late January. "I'll be there representing Bernie, and you can check out one of my new BRJ customs, as well as some of his amazing custom creations," says Simon. "Gary Holt (EXODUS) and Jerry Only (MISFITS) will also be there representing Bernie."

THE PROJECT HATE: Rhythm Guitar Tracks For New Album CompletedTHE PROJECT HATE, the Swedish band featuring Lord K. Philipson (GOD AMONG INSECTS, ex-LEUKEMIA), Jörgen Sandström (ex-ENTOMBED, GRAVE), bassist Michael Håkansson (ENGEL, ex-EVERGREY), guitarist Petter S. Freed (2 TON PREDATOR) and singer Jo Enckell (IGNORANCE BLISS), has posted the following message on its official web site:
"All the rhythm guitars are nailed for the coming fifth album, and have been so for a little while. What we are doing now is just adding plenty of details, solos and all that fun shit needed to make this piece perfect,
"Talks with record labels are ongoing but nothing is settled yet as far as signing anything goes. We are taking our time and are still open to suggestions as we are going to take our time with this recording.
"We plan to have this whole disc recorded and completed sometime in March/April. There is a reason for this time spended and hopefully we can announce why soon. If everything goes as we want them to, it's something to look forward to. Keep yer fingers crossed.
"The album title, songtitles and front cover are completed since quite some time back. We'll hand it all out as soon as we feel like it. Which might be a while. It's seven songs clocking in over an hour of the best music we ever wrote."
The follow-up to 2003's "Hate, Dominate, Congregate, Eliminate", THE PROJECT HATE's latest album, "Armageddon March Eternal (Symphonies of Slit Wrists)" was released in Europe in October 2005 via Threeman Recordings. The CD was produced by Dan Swanö.

PAIN CONFESSOR Continues Work On 'Raw And Furious' New AlbumFinnish metallers PAIN CONFESSOR are continuing work on their third album, "Purgatory of the Second Sun", at Fantom studio for a tentative early March 2007 release. A single will precede the album in February. Songtitles set to appear on the CD include "Mercenaries", "Last of Forever", "Dreamcrusher", "Second Sun", "My Last Words", "End", "Without Redemption/Without Remorse" and "Ne Plus Ultra".
Commented the band: "It's been a very different session for us since the production is fully our responsibility. What a massive burden has Janne Saksa carried on our previous albums. This time the material is far more aggressive and requires certain type of roughness so perhaps one way to achieve it is to give us about three or four months time to write, arrange, rehearse, record and mix most of the material for the album and leave us to produce it ourselves.
"We have had to admit time and again that by no means putting together a full length album from scratch in a time in which most people refuse even to take a shit is the easiest thing in the world. Hell, at least it will be raw and furious. This album has nine songs from which 80% is pretty much all out war and the rest 20% is heavy, like walking to the gallows."
PAIN CONFESSOR's sophomore album, "Fearrage", was released in March via Megamania. The follow-up to 2004's "Turmoil" was recorded and mixed by Janne Saksa at Studio Sound Supreme and was produced by Janne Saksa and PAIN CONFESSOR.

BEHEMOTH: Drum Tracks For New Album Completed; Video AvailablePolish extreme metal titans BEHEMOTH are currently hard at work in the studio tracking their much-anticipated new album, "The Apostasy", which is currently set for a summer release. The new effort is being recorded in the band's hometown of Gdansk with Nergal (vocals, guitars) and longtime sound engineer Malta in the producers' chairs.
Nergal checks in with the following news: "We've never been in better shape as a band. We spent three months preparing to record this album with no breaks, rehearsing four to six hours a day. Inferno has just completed the drum tracks. I must say Inferno is really dedicated to the whole project. He's doing the most intense physical work in this band, and he's easily at the top of his game right now.
"I remember Inferno trying to nail one song several times, and none of the versions seemed to be good enough. Then he took another take, and it sounded pretty amazing. I told him we could leave it as it is, as it was already pretty good. But the question was if we want it pretty good, or if we want it amazing. His answer was immediate: 'Delete it. I can do it better; and he did just that."
Malta further states, "I've never seen this band that well-rehearsed and ready for the recording. Inferno finally is playing on his own drum kit (Spaun), which was tested live several times on the recent tour. He knows exactly what to get out of it."
Inferno also seems to be really happy with the results of his work. The whole drum session took about 10 days, in addition to a week of setting the right sounds and testing different microphones. Inferno says, "Before entering the studio, we pretty much had everything ready to go. There were no doubts whatsoever. I'm more than sure this is by far my best drum arrangements ever. This is my life's work."
This week, BEHEMOTH starts laying down guitar tracks. Go to this location to watch a video clip from "The Apostasy" drum recording sessions.
