Recorded live on October 26, 2024 at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut, the show featured the band's greatest hits and the legendary "Battle Of The Drums" in a hard-hitting send-off for the GODSMACK brothers.
"Live At Mohegan Sun" was directed by Daniel E. Catullo III and produced by GODSMACK frontman Sully Erna.
The first preview of "Live At Mohegan Sun", in the form of the song "When Legends Rise", can be seen below.

GODSMACK recently announced "The Rise Of Rock" 2026 tour, a North American run featuring special guests STONE TEMPLE PILOTS and DOROTHY. Promoted by Live Nation, the trek will kick off Sunday, May 10 in Bristow, Virginia at Jiffy Lube Live and make stops across the U.S. and Toronto, Canada, including Austin, Chicago, Denver, Phoenix, and California, before wrapping Saturday, September 26 at Ford Idaho Center Amphitheater in Nampa, Idaho.
In April 2025, GODSMACK confirmed Larkin and Rombola's departures. In a statement at the time, Erna said that Rombola and Larkin "decided to retire from the band permanently, on good terms, but for no other reason than to fulfill their desire to live a more simple and quiet life away from touring."
He added: "Their departure marks the end of an era, but it also opens the door for new and exciting possibilities. We want to assure you that Shannon and Tony will always be part of our family, and their contributions will forever echo in our music. We respect their decisions and support them wholeheartedly as they pursue their own individual paths.
"Robbie [Merrill, GODSMACK bassist] and I are also excited to explore new directions, and although we have not made any permanent decisions about who may replace Tony and Shannon, we will be continuing this journey together, and we look forward to sharing the decisions we make with all of you as they happen."
GODSMACK kicked off its 2025 European tour on March 22, 2025 at Arena 8888 in Sofia, Bulgaria.
The day before the Sofia concert, Erna told Elena Rozberg of Bulgaria's Z-Rock radio station that "personal things" were preventing Tony and Shannon from taking part in the trek and explained that "a couple of guest musicians" — drummer Will Hunt of EVANESCENCE and guitarist Sam Koltun of DOROTHY — were playing with GODSMACK while he and Merrill were " trying to figure out exactly what's happening".
In a since-deleted video shared on Facebook, Larkin addressed his absence from GODSMACK's spring 2025 tour, saying: "Well, there's been lots of speculation about [why Tony and I are not on the road].
"First of all, I just wanna thank everybody for the outpouring of texts, all my family and friends. I'm okay. Tony's okay. But we did quit the band last year, after lots of talking to Sully and Robbie. And they understood that we didn't wanna tour anymore — that's the reason — and we understood that they wanted to tour. And so we understood each other. And in the end, GODSMACK's out there touring and we are happily here living our lives.
"Look, it's not a physical thing. We wanna be home with everything that we love.
"[It's been] 40 years — think of that; 40 years I've been touring. 28 years for Rombola. And we're getting a little older, so we decided to quit it. And that's it.
"But thanks. And we love you all, the fans and everything.
"This wasn't a bad thing, and I know it looks like it, but I will talk more about it in the future. But it's all love. We're brothers for life with Sully and Robbie, and we wish Will and Sam the best. And all the fans, keep going [to the shows]. They're kicking fucking ass.
"As Sully said at the very end, all good things must come to an end. So GODSMACK didn't come to an end — it's just a new chapter for them — and it's certainly a new chapter for Tony and I. And we're already making music, and everybody's happy. So be happy, people."
Larkin joined GODSMACK in 2002 after cutting his teeth with WRATHCHILD (later WRATCHILD AMERICA and SOULS AT ZERO) before getting picked up by UGLY KID JOE in time for a taste of their zenith.
Tony had been the lead guitarist and backing vocalist for GODSMACK since the mid-1990s following the departure of Lee Richards.
GODSMACK's latest album, "Lighting Up The Sky", was released in February 2023 via BMG. The LP was co-produced by Erna and Andrew "Mudrock" Murdock (AVENGED SEVENFOLD, ALICE COOPER).
The first single from "Lighting Up The Sky", "Surrender", which arrived in September 2022, marked the first release from GODSMACK in four years, following their globally acclaimed and gold-certified 2018 album "When Legends Rise", which earned the Erna-fronted outfit a No. 1 spot across U.S. Hard Rock, Rock, and Alternative album charts.

Original FOREIGNER Singer LOU GRAMM Shares 'Time Heals The Pain', Third Single From Upcoming 'Released' Solo AlbumLegendary vocalist and 2024 Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame inductee Lou Gramm, best known as the iconic voice of FOREIGNER, has released "Time Heals The Pain", the third single from his forthcoming solo album "Released".
A soaring, emotionally charged rock ballad built on sweeping melodies, luminous keyboards, and Gramm's unmistakable, deeply expressive vocals, "Time Heals The Pain" captures the reflective heart and enduring power that have long defined one of rock's most distinctive voices. Balancing tenderness with strength, the track unfolds as a moving meditation on love, reconciliation, and the healing passage of time.
Written by Gramm and longtime collaborator and former BLACK SHEEP bandmate Bruce Turgon, "Time Heals The Pain" highlights Gramm at his most vulnerable and resonant. Framed by shimmering keyboard work, expressive guitar, and a steady rhythmic foundation, the song allows Gramm's vocal performance to take center stage. Rich with melodic warmth and emotional honesty, the track builds from introspective verses into a powerful, reassuring chorus that recalls the timeless grandeur of Gramm's most beloved work.
Set to arrive on March 27, 2026 on CD (HNE Recordings / Cherry Red Records) and vinyl (Friday Music),"Released" marks the long-awaited completion of a pivotal chapter in Gramm's solo catalog. Produced by Gramm with associate producer Matthew Gramm, the album features ten original songs co-written with Turgon, originally recorded during the 1980s in the wake of his solo releases "Ready Or Not" (1987) and "Long Hard Look" (1989). Recently revisited and carefully completed, these recordings preserve the warmth, grit, and analog character of the original sessions while benefiting from a renewed clarity and sonic depth. The result bridges Gramm's celebrated solo era with the perspective and enduring vocal power that have defined him as one of rock's most influential and recognizable voices.
Lou says: "My new album 'Released' is a collection of unreleased songs that were recorded in the 1980s during the production of my three previous solo albums. These are powerful, heartfelt songs with a great vintage sound taken right from my old multitrack tapes. This new album was a long time coming and it's a real nostalgia trip. When I pulled these songs out of the vault, I knew I had to finish them for my fans around the world, so they can experience what I did when I first heard them after all these years. It means a lot to me to finally see this album released, to be taken back in time when I hear this music again, to remember working with all these great musicians, and to feel that my catalog is now complete."
Produced by Lou Gramm himself, "Released" features appearances from an outstanding cast of musicians, including Tony Franklin on bass for "Long Gone" and Vivian Campbell (DEF LEPPARD) on guitar for the opening track "Young Love", alongside longtime collaborators such as Lou's brother Ben Gramm on drums.
Born and raised in Rochester, New York, Lou Gramm emerged from a highly musical family before forming BLACK SHEEP, whose two albums for Capitol Records have since become cult favorites. A pivotal meeting with Mick Jones in 1975 led to the formation of FOREIGNER the following year, launching a career that produced a run of multi-platinum albums and hit singles. FOREIGNER famously became the first band since THE BEATLES to see their first eight singles reach the U.S. Top 20.
Alongside his work with FOREIGNER, Lou enjoyed major solo success with "Ready Or Not" (1987),featuring the hit "Midnight Blue", followed by "Long Hard Look" (1989),which included "Just Between You And Me". Now, with "Released", Lou delivers his third solo studio album, completing a vital chapter in his solo catalogue while standing proudly alongside both his earlier solo work and his defining recordings with FOREIGNER.
"Released" also includes "True Blue Love (Unplugged)", the original version of which appeared on "Long Hard Look", and follows recent high-profile collaborations with FOREIGNER connected to the band's induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2024.
Lou Gramm will be touring throughout 2026 in support of "Released", including solo dates and special appearances with FOREIGNER.
"Released" track listing:
01. Young Love
02. Lightning Strikes
03. Walk The Walk
04. Long Gone
05. Heart And Soul
06. Long Hard Look
07. True Blue Love (Unplugged)
08. Deeper Side of Love
09. Time Heals The Pain
10. Word Gets Around
In a recent interview with Kyle Meredith, Lou spoke about his previously announced plan to release some new solo material. He said: "I have a friend of mine who was in my solo bands. His name is Bruce Turgon, and he eventually became the bass player in FOREIGNER for about 10 years. And he and I have been friends since we were teenagers. And he plays bass. He's played with a lot of great bands and musicians over the years, and we wrote songs together back in the day. And when I got him in FOREIGNER, he was a participating songwriter too. And I think that's when FOREIGNER sounded its best, actually. And so I'm still in touch with him, and he helped me write songs for my upcoming solo album, which is being released in March."
Asked what fans can expect from his upcoming LP, Gramm said: "Well, I've been working on this album for over two years, and I have been looking through my backlog of songs that were great songs but were unfinished and didn't make it to the cut on my records and went back and finished some of them, and they're awesome songs. So I'm taking some new songs that were written and some of the older songs that deserve to be on the album. I finished 'em up, polished 'em up, and they're on the album. So it's a little conglomerate of past and present."
Back in 2019, Gramm told Kiki Classic Rock that his upcoming solo LP is based on a lot of the material from the "masters" from his solo albums. "'Cause my solo albums always had 10 songs on it, but we always recorded 12 or 13," he explained. "And the ones that didn't make the album weren't necessarily the weakest songs — a lot of 'em were very strong ideas, but they weren't quite finished. And I'm finishing them, and I'm gonna release them."
Regarding how the idea to revisit his unfinished material came about, Gramm said: "My son Matthew came up with the idea. He just asked me, 'How many songs were on the albums? And did you have any extras?' And I said, 'Always.' He said, 'Let's listen to those, polish 'em up, finish 'em, and put them out to be downloaded.' So we went back and we started listening, and there's those songs, not quite finished, that I hadn't heard in 30 years."
Lou added: "I'm so excited to release them, because, to me, they sound great."
Less than two years ago, Lou told Lee Richey about his plans to release new music: "It's song ideas and bits and pieces from my recording of my first [solo] album, second [solo] album and SHADOW KING [project]. Now, what I mean is when you put an album out and you have 10 songs, you might record 13 and pick the best 10. So then you've got three songs that you don't know what to do with. And the years go by. Or maybe they're not complete songs. Maybe you have 10 songs on your album and there's a couple songs that you started and once the album was released, you just forgot about them. So when I was looking to put out a new album, I had freshly written songs too, but I just started going through the tapes in my tape closet and listening to these things that were 25, 30 years old, and the ideas were awesome. So I started them that long ago and I finished them about two years ago."
By the time Gramm left FOREIGNER for the first time in 1990, he had already released two successful solo albums: 1987's "Ready Or Not" and 1989's "Long Hard Look". He went on to launch LOU GRAMM BAND, which released an all-Christian rock album in 2009. He followed it up with "My Baby" in 2015.
SHADOW KING was a collaboration between Gramm and current DEF LEPPARD guitarist Vivian Campbell. The group released a self-titled album in 1991 and performed live only once, at the Astoria Theatre in London, England on December 13, 1991.
Gramm was the voice on FOREIGNER's biggest hits, including "Feels Like The First Time" and "Cold as Ice" from the band's eponymous debut in 1977, and later songs like "Hot Blooded" and "I Want to Know What Love Is".
FOREIGNER's ongoing tour features Gramm on guest vocals for some of the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame group's biggest hits. Gramm is sharing the stage with Luis Maldonado, who replaced longtime FOREIGNER frontman Kelly Hansen on lead vocals.
FOREIGNER replaced Gramm with Hansen in 2005. Guitarist Mick Jones, the only remaining original member of FOREIGNER, suffered from some health issues beginning in 2011, eventually resulting in heart surgery in 2012. In February 2024, Jones revealed on social media that he was battling Parkinson's disease, which explained his absence from FOREIGNER's live shows since 2022.
Reconnecting with his former FOREIGNER bandmates, Lou contributed words and vocals for the new song "Turning Back The Time" to coincide with FOREIGNER's induction into the Rock And Rock Hall Of Fame in 2024, and also the unreleased "Fool If You Love Him" for the latest FOREIGNER "4" box set in 2025.

EINHERJER To Release Tenth Studio Album This SummerBy Norse Music has announced a new partnership with Norwegian Nordic metal pioneers EINHERJER.
The band will release its tenth studio album this summer via By Norse Music.
Frode Glesnes, founder of EINHERJER, said: "We are proud to join the roster of By Norse Music. The label represents a vision of music that is deeply rooted in Nordic culture, heritage and artistic integrity — values that have always been central to EINHERJER. With a new album on the horizon, this feels like the right alliance at the right time. By Norse understands where we come from and where we want to go next, and we look forward to working together to bring the next chapter of EINHERJER to the world."
Sonja Schuringa, A&R for By Norse, adds: "We're thrilled to welcome EINHERJER to the By Norse roster! From the very first listen, their music stood out with a distinct identity and a powerful artistic vision that immediately resonated with us. Their sound captures a rare balance of intensity, atmosphere, and artistic depth — a combination that fits perfectly with the spirit of By Norse Music. We're excited to begin this journey together and proud to welcome EINHERJER to the family!"
EINHERJER was forged in 1993, on the western shores of Norway — where the North Sea meets the land, and where the Viking kings once ruled the passage that gave Norway its name. From this inheritance, EINHERJER rose. Not as followers of a movement, but as part of its own creation.
In the early years of Norwegian extreme metal in the 1990s, EINHERJER stood among those who gave voice to a distinctly Norse expression within metal. Their early recordings did not imitate tradition — they helped establish it. What later became known as Viking metal was not conceived as a genre, but as a natural extension of identity, history, and place and EINHERJER became one of its defining forces.
From their home in Haugesund, along the ancient sea road of Karmsundet, EINHERJER continues to draw from the same source that shaped their beginnings: the land, the sea, and the cultural memory carried forward through generations. EINHERJER stands firmly against the misuse and distortion of Norse heritage. Their banner carries no political allegiance, no extremist ideology. Their mission is cultural and artistic: to explore, interpret, and share the depth, complexity, and power of their heritage as part of the greater human story.
Through classic albums such as "Dragons Of The North", "Odin Owns Ye All" and "Blot", and later works including "Av Oss, For Oss" and "North Star", both nominated for a Spellemannprisen (Norway's Grammy equivalent),the band has continually evolved without losing its core. Their sound remains unmistakable — resolute, atmospheric, and grounded in the weight of heritage, yet never bound by the past. Their music does not seek to recreate a lost age. It stands as proof that its spirit endures. The same horizon that called the seafarers westward still lies open. The same impulse to create, to endure, and to leave a mark remains unchanged.
EINHERJER is:
Frode Glesnes - Vocals, guitar, bass
Gerhard Storesund – Drums, keys
Ole Sønstabø - Lead guitar
Tom Enge - Guitar, clean vocals

JUDAS PRIEST Guitarist RICHIE FAULKNER's ELEGANT WEAPONS Announces Second Album 'Evolution', Shares 'Bridges Burn' SingleELEGANT WEAPONS, the hard rock and heavy metal powerhouse led by JUDAS PRIEST guitarist Richie Faulkner, has released a new single, "Bridges Burn", the first track from the band's forthcoming sophomore album "Evolution", due April 24, 2026 on Exciter Records.
The album will be released digitally and on CD on April 24, 2026, with a special edition vinyl pressing to follow later in the year.
The lead single "Bridges Burn" is available now on all streaming platforms. Watch the official lyric video below.
ELEGANT WEAPONS features a formidable lineup: Richie Faulkner (JUDAS PRIEST),vocalist Ronnie Romero (RAINBOW, MSG),bassist Dave Rimmer (URIAH HEEP) and drummer Christopher Williams (ACCEPT).
With "Evolution", the band pushes its sound forward — combining razor-sharp riffing, arena-sized hooks, and technical precision with a chemistry forged through touring and collaboration. The album was co-produced by Faulkner alongside Andy Sneap (JUDAS PRIEST's touring guitarist, who also produced PRIEST's "Invincible Shield" and "Firepower" albums),with the recording spanning Nashville, Europe, and France — a truly global effort reflecting the band's international pedigree.
"This record represents growth in every sense," said Richie Faulkner. "When the four of us come together, we sound like ELEGANT WEAPONS. We've spent time on the road, we've developed a chemistry, and you can hear that evolution in the performances. I'm proud of what we've built, and I'm excited to begin this next chapter with Exciter Records."
For Exciter Records, the signing marks a strategic move into contemporary metal while reinforcing the label's deep ties to the genre's foundations. Exciter Records and its publishing affiliate Reach Music, recently acquired JUDAS PRIEST's landmark early albums "Rocka Rolla" and "Sad Wings Of Destiny", making the partnership with Richie Faulkner and ELEGANT WEAPONS a natural continuation of that legacy into a new era.
"Richie Faulkner is not only one of the most respected guitarists as a member of JUDAS PRIEST, but he is also a leader in forming and developing ELEGANT WEAPONS," said Michael Closter, founder and president of Exciter Records. "Signing ELEGANT WEAPONS is a natural step for Exciter Records as we continue to honor metal's heritage while investing in its future."
The album features standout tracks including the opener "Evil Eyes", the groove-driven anthem "Generation Me", and the lead single "Bridges Burn", alongside the instrumental "Rupture", an emotionally charged composition inspired in part by Faulkner's life-threatening onstage medical emergency in 2021.
With "Evolution", ELEGANT WEAPONS solidify their identity as a band defined not simply by pedigree, but by forward momentum.
Track listing
01. Evil Eyes
02. Generation Me
03. Bridges Burn
04. Holy Roller
05. Come Back To Me
06. The Devil Calls
07. Thrown To The Wolves
08. Shooting Shadows
09. Rupture
10. Mercy Of The Fallen
11. Keeper Of The Keys
Last October, Romero told Tim Caple of Rock 'N' Blues Experience about ELEGANT WEAPONS's sophomore album: "I think it's gonna be fantastic. Also, I feel like it's really a step forward from the first one, because when I recorded the first album, the album actually was already recorded by another singer. So what I did, it was just going to the studio and trying to fit my vocals on what it was already done. And it took me two or three days doing that recording. But this time we took the time, going to the studio, being all together with Richie Faulkner and Andy Sneap and just working on the songs: 'This kind of lyrics works.' 'This doesn't work.' 'We need to change the vocal line.' 'We need to change the key.' 'We need to change this.' 'We need to add some backing vocals here.' And we spent a lot of time together, so this is more ELEGANT WEAPONS than the first one."
Ronnie previously discussed the upcoming ELEGANT WEAPONS effort in May 2025 in an interview with J.J. Caithcart of Different Stages Radio. He said at the time: "When I joined the band, the [first] album was recorded already. They had a different singer, so the songs were there. I just needed to listen to the songs and the previous singer and then try to record on my own way, but [there was] still a lack of personality of my voice in that way. But this time we were working together with Andy Sneap and with Richie Faulkner, the three of us, working on the lyrics, working on the vocal lines, working on the harmonies, working all together. We spent a lot of time in the studio together doing all this work, the vocal production."
Regarding the musical direction of the new ELEGANT WEAPONS material, Ronnie said: "It is an evolution of the band. We have this stable lineup with Christopher Williams from ACCEPT and Dave Rimmer from URIAH HEEP. So, it is more ELEGANT WEAPONS than the first one, I would say. The songs are great. There is a few great songs that — I was talking with Richie yesterday and I said, 'Every day I like a different one.' It's, like, today I like this one very much, and then I listen to the album again and now I like this other one because it's a different thing. But, yeah, I think it's a great album. And it's gonna sound like an evolution of the band, for sure."
Back in April 2025, Faulkner told Igor Miranda of Brazil's Rolling Stone magazine about the second ELEGANT WEAPONS album: "It's great. Obviously, it's me, Ronnie Romero, and it's like an evolution, the second time around, because the band is solidified. It's Christopher Williams on drums, Davey Rimmer on bass and Ronnie and myself."
In October 2024, Faulkner told Clint Switzer of On The Road To Rock about ELEGANT WEAPONS: "Ronnie's fantastic. Again, he's one of those guys, he's not only a singer, he's a frontman. He fronts the band. There's a lot of people I know, they've got great voices, but it takes a frontman or frontwoman, front person to do that job. So Ronnie's definitely got that.
"We did some dates [in 2023] in Europe, which was fantastic," he continued. "We did some dates with PANTERA, which was nuts. You can imagine opening up for them."
Richie went on to say that he never intended ELEGANT WEAPONS to just be a one-album project. "That's what it was about, really. It wasn't about the one record recorded during COVID; it was about a band that goes on," he explained. "We've all got our different things, obviously — PRIEST, ACCEPT, Ronnie's got his stuff — but we wanted it to be a proper band with multiple records doing live dates, which we've done. But it's just, obviously, when PRIEST are out, ACCEPT are out, URIAH HEEP are out at the moment as well, when we find a window in between for that, then we'll look at releasing the second record. So, that's an exciting thing to think about, too."
In 2023, Richie told Jorge Botas of Portugal's Metal Global that he planned on focusing on ELEGANT WEAPONS full-time once PRIEST has officially called it a day.
"PRIEST music is gonna be around a lot longer than we are," he said. "It's legendary music. They're genre-defining musicians and it's a genre-defining band. It will be around for a long time. But none of us gets out of this alive. That's just the reality of it. So if one day that call comes in and that's the last tour or the last album, whatever it is… I mean, I joined the band on what was the farewell tour. Luckily it wasn't, and we're still here 12 years later. [It's] fantastic. But at the time, I think I would have been silly not to consider what I was gonna do after the band, because of the circumstances of the tour. It was a farewell tour — it was [supposed to be] the last tour — so what am I gonna do after? So it's always been in the back of my mind. And this is a band that seems natural to me to continue with if that call ever came in."
ELEGANT WEAPONS made its first two festival appearances in June 2023 at Hellfest in Clisson, France and at Graspop Metal Meeting in Dessel, Belgium.
ELEGANT WEAPONS' debut album, "Horns For A Halo", was released in May 2023 via Nuclear Blast. The LP was recorded with bassist Rex Brown (PANTERA, DOWN) and drummer Scott Travis (JUDAS PRIEST) and was helmed by acclaimed British producer Andy Sneap, who has previously worked with JUDAS PRIEST, ACCEPT, EXODUS and MEGADETH, among many others.
ELEGANT WEAPONS played additional shows in Europe through July 2023. The trek included performances with PANTERA, festival appearances and headlining shows.

THE PRETTY RECKLESS is a record-breaking rock band fronted by the incomparable Taylor Momsen, whose commanding vocals move seamlessly between raw power and haunting vulnerability. Known for their electrifying live performances, the band has toured the world with legends including AC/DC, THE ROLLING STONES and SOUNDGARDEN. Since their debut "Light Me Up", they've earned global acclaim with hits including "Heaven Knows" and made history as the first female-fronted band to score eight No. 1 singles on Billboard's Mainstream Rock chart. Their latest album, "Death By Rock And Roll", is a visceral exploration of life, loss, and the enduring spirit of rock. In 2025, they released their holiday EP "Taylor Momsen's Pretty Reckless Christmas", led by a reimagined version of Momsen's iconic song "Where Are You Christmas?". Next, the band will release their forthcoming fifth studio album "Dear God" and will support the album with a headlining world tour. Marking the beginning of a new creative chapter, "Dear God" embraces vulnerability, intensity and artistic freedom, inviting listeners into one of the band's most raw and uncompromising records yet. The album's release is preceded by its lead single "For I Am Death", which saw the band repeat their record of earning four consecutive number ones on Billboard's mainstream rock chart.

DELAIN Singer DIANA LEAH Launches DYYA Solo Project, Shares 'Holy Water' Music VideoDELAIN singer Diana Leah has released the official music video for "Holy Water", the first single from her new solo project DYYA. Check it out below.
"Holy Water" was written and performed by DYYA. It was produced, mixed and mastered by Andrea Fusini.
DELAIN shared the "Holy Water" video on Instagram and wrote in an accompanying message: "Hey! Check this out! Our Diana just dropped a single for her new solo project and it sounds amazing".
Diana joined DELAIN in 2022 as the replacement for the band's longtime vocalist Charlotte Wessels.
Regarding how she came to be the new singer of the long-running Dutch metal act, the now-35-year-old Leah said back in 2022: "It's really simple, actually. I knew they were looking for a singer so I just left a comment on their Instagram page. So a couple of days later I received an e-mail from Martijn [Westerholt, DELAIN keyboardist, founder and main songwriter], and we talked a bit about how I could audition and he sent me some material that I could sing on. And the rest is history."
Asked how she decided to sing in a metal band, Diana said: "Well, I've always wanted to sing in a metal band. It was really my desire to do it. In fact, I did sing in a couple of rock bands, but it wasn't really heavy music, which I loved at the time. It was really hard to find the right people to form a band with and also to get along together and all that. But I've always wanted to be in a metal band. Always."
Leah also talked a bit about her background, saying: "I was born in Romania, in a city called Alba Iulia. It's in the middle of Transylvania. And then I moved to Italy when I was 15, and I lived in Italy for, I think, 10 years or something. And then I moved to Canada, in Ottawa, and I lived there for five years. And then I came back to Italy. And now I currently live in Italy, near Torino, so up north."
Diana previously discussed her early musical influences in a 2023 interview with Heavy Consequence. She said at the time: "I've always wanted to be in a band since I was 16. I started listening to bands like EVANESCENCE and LINKIN PARK, because those bands were big at the time, and then artists like Avril Lavigne. I had that phase in my life when I was into disco rock music, and I started singing at that time, as well. I was just exploring whatever my voice could do. That's when I started taking singing lessons and the thought of doing this just crossed my mind. I thought, 'Wow, if I can sing, maybe I can do this one day. And, if I learned how to do it properly, I could learn how to not hurt my voice and keep longevity in my voice.' That's how music stated for me."
Elaborating on how watching other singers perform inspired her to work on her own skills, Diana said: "I was fascinated by all these vocalists I was following, like Amy Lee of EVANESCENCE. Then I started merging into symphonic metal and listening to bands like NIGHTWISH or WITHIN TEMPTATION. When I started to listen to that kind of music, I felt like I was home. I could relate so much to that style of music and the vibe and the way it sounded, so cinematic and epic. At one point. I thought I would love to sing in a band like this one day."
DELAIN's first studio album with Leah, "Dark Waters", came out in February 2023 via Napalm.

CORROSION OF CONFORMITY Announces New Drummer NICK SHABATURACORROSION OF CONFORMITY has announced the addition of drummer Nick Shabatura to the group's ranks.
Shabatura, who has previously played with DESECRATE THE HOUR and the Chicago-based NIRVANA tribute band SMELLS LIKE NIRVANA, landed the C.O.C. gig at the recommendation of ANTHRAX/PANTERA drummer Charlie Benante.
Drummer Stanton Moore, who played on CORROSION OF CONFORMITY's 2005 album "In The Arms Of God" and laid down the drum tracks for C.O.C.'s upcoming double album, "Good God / Baad Man", gave Shabatura's arrival his blessing, writing on social media: "I approve this message! I went by rehearsals in Riffississippi the other day to meet and hang with Nick. He is an amazing drummer and a super cool guy. He showed up having completely done his homework and already sounds great playing with the band.
"The plan was always for me to make this record with the guys and then to find somebody to do the touring. Well, we found the guy and he is Nick Shabatura! Thanks Charlie Benante for the recommendation".
"Good God / Baad Man" is set for release on April 3 via Nuclear Blast.
Much has gone down in the CORROSION OF CONFORMITY universe since their last album smacked us upside the head. Back in 2018, when "No Cross No Crown" dropped like a rock 'n' roll atom bomb, the tried-and-true CORROSION OF CONFORMITY lineup of Pepper Keenan (vocals, guitar),Woody Weatherman (guitar),Reed Mullin (drums) and Mike Dean (bass) was still going strong. Four brothers united in a decades-long history kicked off by a roving pack of teenage punks in Raleigh, North Carolina circa 1982.
CORROSION OF CONFORMITY's first four albums left a permanent mark on headbangers, longhairs, and street punks everywhere: Underground classics "Eye For An Eye" (1984) and "Animosity" (1985) followed by slightly more overground bangers "Blind" (1991) and "Deliverance" (1994). By the time CORROSION OF CONFORMITY carved off "No Cross No Crown" nearly a quarter century later, they were legends in their own time, revered by two generations of punk, metal, and rock fans.
Then tragedy struck: In January 2020, Mullin left this earthly plane.
It was a devastating blow, both personally and professionally. How do you replace a brother? You can't. All you can do is soldier on in his memory. Which is what the rest of CORROSION OF CONFORMITY did — until COVID-19 shut down the globe. Then Dean decided to go his own way. It was an amicable split, but it left Pepper and Woody to contemplate their next move. They brought in drummer Stanton Moore, who played on "In The Arms Of God". They brought in bassist Bobby "Rock" Landgraf, who did time with Pepper in New Orleans heavyweights DOWN when he wasn't terrorizing the locals in his own band HONKY.
Produced by Grammy Award winner Warren Riker (FUGEES, DOWN, CATHEDRAL) and featuring cover art by famed New Orleans artist Scott Guion, "Good God / Baad Man" was recorded at Blak Shak Studios in Riffissippi, USA, Dockside Studios in Maurice, Louisiana, and BEE GEES legend Barry Gibb's home studio in Miami, Florida.
In support of "Good God / Baad Man", CORROSION OF CONFORMITY will return to stages this spring on a North American headlining tour with support provided by WHORES and CROBOT.

CHRIS IMPELLITTERI Admits 'Constant Comparisons' To YNGWIE MALMSTEEN Drove Him 'Nuts'Neo-classical guitarist Chris Impellitteri has once again dismissed suggestions that he is an Yngwie Malmsteen clone, saying that he views himself as much more of a child of players like Al Di Meola blended with Eddie Van Halen.
Impellitteri first made his mark in 1987 with the release of his debut EP, "Impellitteri". Chris has since issued 12 albums under his band name, IMPELLITTERI, including his latest, 2024's "War Machine", which features his longtime bandmates, vocalist Rob Rock and bassist James Amelio Pulli, plus SLAYER and KERRY KING drummer Paul Bostaph.
Impellitteri addressed the comparisons with the legendary Swedish guitarist in a new interview with Waste Some Time With Jason Green. Chris said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "Listen, I'm flattered if people compare me to Yngwie or [Ritchie] Blackmore or whatever. And listen, to be fair to them, I love Yngwie. When I was, like — what? — 18, 19, and he's older than me, when I heard him, I was, like, 'I love this. This is great.' I learned a lot of the stuff he was doing intentionally, because, look, as a guitar player you wanna evolve. And it's no different than — I spent most of my time probably spending time listening to people like Eddie Van Halen, Al Di Meola, Paco De Lucía and John McLaughlin, stuff like that. But Yngwie was certainly in there. And people always think I try to evade that. I'm, like, no, of course not. I thought it was great. But at the same time, a lot of the stuff you heard from Yngwie was not original. It actually had come from a guy named Uli Jon Roth, who had played with the band the SCORPIONS. Listen to Uli Jon Roth. He's playing harmonic, minor diminished. He's got the cream white Stratocaster with a scalloped fretboard. Uli was doing it in 1975, and I'd listen to Uli a lot as well."
After podcast host Jason Green noted that hiring legendary rock singer Graham Bonnet, who had worked with both Malmsteen and Blackmore, to front IMPELLITTERI only fueled the comparisons, Chris said: "You're right about Graham. Bringing Graham in, it was, like, look, Graham had played with… It starts with Ritchie Blackmore from DEEP PURPLE and then from the band RAINBOW. Right? So you've got Ritchie Blackmore. He then plays, I believe, with Michael Schenker. Michael Schenker's this legendary guitar player. [Graham] then plays with Yngwie, and then Yngwie is replaced by Steve Vai. Then he has a few other things, and he joins my band IMPELLITTERI.
"I used to joke, because in Japan, I don't know what happened. I don't know if it was luck, fate, our music, our ability — who knows? — but the band exploded," Impellitteri recalled. "We did so well there. And I used to joke, 'cause people'd go, like, 'Oh man, how'd you get this big?' and blah, blah, blah. And I used to laugh and say, 'You know, honestly, I think I got lucky, because the fact that Graham had played with all those other legendary guitar players, I think I got a free pass.' Whether I was really great or I sucked, I don't think it mattered. I think the audience in those countries that really loved Graham and all those guitar players just figured, 'Well, if Graham's playing with Chris, Chris must be great.' So that was a pro, a plus of having Graham in the band. Plus I really liked him as a friend and an amazing singer. But, yeah, there was that constant, constant comparison to Yngwie, which drove me nuts. And again, I love Yngwie, but it was just — come on, then you're being unfair to Van Halen, who was far more of an influence. And Al Di Meola."
Impellitteri previously addressed the comparisons with Malmsteen in an October 2022 interview with Jeff Gaudiosi of MisplacedStraws.com. Asked about the supposed "rivalry" between the two musicians, Chris said: "I never thought there was any rivalry. And by the way, I have nothing but respect for Yngwie. I mean, he absolutely influenced me, just like Van Halen, Randy Rhoads, Tony Iommi — I could go on and on. I've been influenced by virtually every guitar player. Yngwie was already very, very successful. I don't know why there'd be any fear from him or a rivalry that we were coming in. We get labeled as these shred guys. and I'll be honest, I definitely brought a little bit of that on myself. 'Cause as a kid, you work really hard, you practice eight, nine hours a day, you're always trying to master your craft and be the best you possibly can be, so you definitely have that competitive spirit.
"I know that when we came out with the IMPELLITTERI black EP, from day one I made one thing very clear to our band guys and our manager, I said, 'I don't want this to be the Chris Impellitteri ego guitar instrumentalist or solo show. This has gotta be a band,'" he explained. "It's four or five guys equally contributing. Even if I'm writing the bulk of the music, Rob writes all the lyrics, all the vocal melodies — he does that. The bass player comes and does all of his own contributions, and our drummer, same thing. And so when you hear IMPELLITTERI, it's a band; it's not me the solo artist. So if people like us, give credit equally to all the guys in the band. It's not, 'Oh, Chris did this.' It's everybody.
"For me, there was no rivalry," Chris repeated. "After a while, I did get annoyed with the comparison, but to be fair, I got it. Because, look, Graham joins IMPELLITTERI, right? We do 'Stand In Line', we do a music video that was really popular on MTV. And now here's the thing that people need to understand, and especially the critics acknowledge. The people that said, 'Oh, he's just ripping off Yngwie,' be really careful with that statement, because if you look in the 'Stand In Line' video, I'm playing a Ritchie Blackmore Stratocaster, I'm wearing almost an identical, almost as an homage to Ritchie, the white boots, all of that; it was from Ritchie Blackmore, who had been doing that since the late '60s. It wasn't about copying Yngwie — who I love. Again, I'm not saying anything negative towards him, but if you're gonna basically state we were doing anything, it was really credit towards the whole RAINBOW kind of thing.
"I guess going back to your question, I never really felt any rivalry; it never bothered me," Impellitteri added. "Except there were times when people kept going, 'Oh, he's just an Yngwie clone' or 'Yngwie wannabe' or whatever, and I'm thinking, 'Well, I'm flattered that you put me in the same sentence 'cause he's a great player. But the reality is if you really were to listen to Chris Impellitteri the guitar player, if you listen with an open mind, if you listen to who I am, I think it's obvious that probably my biggest influence, the three biggest influences that I have [are] early Eddie Van Halen… I mean, when I get my guitar amps, the tone dialed in, everything, I'm always trying to mimic 'Eruption' or 'I'm The One'. And even a lot of the fast stuff, people don't realize I'm using a lot of the Van Halen patterns, the picking patterns that he did in the song called 'Spanish Fly' where does he really fast, articulate stuff. So it's Van Halen, followed by Randy Rhoads. And then actually, I'm sorry, there were three guys that really should get the credit for the speed thing, because I was doing that long before I ever heard guys like Yngwie. So the guys who really got me into it, for the most part, were Al Di Meola, John McLaughlin and Paco Delucia. Listen to the record 'Friday Night In San Francisco'. You hear them play and you immediately go, 'Oh, that's what Chris is ripping off.' So that's really how I evolved. But we got thrown in. And somebody told me other day, and I guess it's true — around '85 or '86 when we were all on the L.A. scene and we were the guys doing metal, I think there were probably five or six of us that were kind of known as the shredders. So Yngwie was first. There was Paul Gilbert. There was me. There were two guys that I really liked a lot — Tony McAlpine and Vinnie Moore. And then there was Michael Angelo Batio; I think at that time he used a different name. But him. And then later you had amazing guys like Jason Becker and all of that stuff. I think someone called us like we were like these forefathers who kind of started it with blending the shred stuff with metal." 4

MOTÖRHEAD Guitarist PHIL CAMPBELL Dead At 64Former MOTÖRHEAD guitarist Phil Campbell has died at the age of 64. His passing was announced earlier today (Saturday, March 14) in a social media post on the social media of his band PHIL CAMPBELL AND THE BASTARD SONS, in which he was joined by his sons Todd, Dane and Tyla.
The message reads: "It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Philip Anthony Campbell, who passed away peacefully last night following a long and courageous battle in intensive care after a complex major operation.
"Phil was a devoted husband, a wonderful father, and a proud and loving grandfather, known affectionately as 'Bampi'. He was deeply loved by all who knew him and will be missed immensely. His legacy, music and the memories he created with so many will live on forever.
"We kindly ask that our family's privacy is respected during this incredibly difficult time."
A short time after Phil's death was made public, longtime MOTÖRHEAD drummer Mikkey Dee shared the following statement via social media: "We got the news this morning, and it's so extremely sad, about the sudden passing of my brother and dear friend, Phil Campbell.
"He was the funniest guy I have ever known and the best rock guitar player I have ever played with. His vibe and feel for rock music were outstanding. We wrote 12 studio albums together, and he never stopped surprising me with his extreme talent. Most of all, I will miss hanging out with the nicest guy you could ever meet.
"My family and I send our thoughts to Phil's family. I truly wish them all the best for the future, and I will be right here if they ever need anything.
"Sleep well, my friend and rock soldier. Say hi to Lemmy, Würzel, Filthy and Eddie. I am sure you'll be a crazy gang hanging out together again!"
The official MOTÖRHEAD social media was also updated with the following message: "We cannot believe we're saying this…it is with profound sadness that we have to say Philip Anthony Campbell has passed.
"He was MOTÖRHEAD's guitarist for 31 years (the longest serving member aside from Lemmy) having joined in 1984. After Lemmy's passing, he was blessed to form PHIL CAMPBELL AND THE BASTARD SONS with his sons Todd, Dane and Tyla, which recorded and toured together for years.
"Phil was a wonderful guitarist, writer, performer, and musician who had MOTÖRHEAD in his veins. He always led with his gift of guitar, and carried a great sense of humour, but most of all, Phil led with his heart. You could not be around him without a chuckle or twenty, because quite simply, Phil loved life and lived it with great joy.
"There will be plenty of time for us to share stories — tales of Campbell glory — and some damn good jokes together; for now, please send love and positive energy to Gaynor and the boys while affording them time, space, and privacy.
"Much love and RIP Phil. The world has just lost an enormous beam of light, and we are devastated."
In February PHIL CAMPBELL AND THE BASTARD SONS canceled its previously announced shows in Australia and Europe from March to May "due to medical advice Phil has just received". No further details were made available at that time.
Campbell was a member of MOTÖRHEAD from 1984 through 2015, and for the last 20 years of the band's existence was its sole guitarist, appearing on classic releases such as "Orgasmatron", "1916" and "Bastards", among others. With MOTÖRHEAD founder Lemmy's 2015 passing, MOTÖRHEAD came to an abrupt end.
Phil began his musical journey at age 10, when he picked up a guitar for the very first time. By the time he turned 13 he semi-professionally partook in a cabaret band called CONTRAST. Later on he was playing all across South Wales in a band called ROCKTOPUS and in the year of 1979 he formed the heavy metal band PERSIAN RISK.
During a HAWKWIND gig, at only 12 of age, Phil was lucky enough to get hold of MOTÖRHEAD frontman Lemmy's autograph. So, when Lemmy was holding auditions for a new MOTÖRHEAD guitarist, due to the departure of Brian Robertson in 1983, Phil decided to try out. Although seeking out only one guitarist, upon discovering the roaring synergy between Phil and guitarist Michael "Würzel" Burston, Lemmy decided to keep them both.
In October 2019, Phil released his first-ever solo record, "Old Lions Still Roar". The album, which had been in the works for more than five years, included guest appearances by Rob Halford (JUDAS PRIEST),Dee Snider (TWISTED SISTER) and Alice Cooper, among others.
PHIL CAMPBELL AND THE BASTARD SONS released their third album, "Kings Of The Asylum", in September 2023 through Nuclear Blast Records. It was PHIL CAMPBELL AND THE BASTARD SONS' first and only studio release to feature singer Joel Peters.
In a 2025 interview with Andrew McKaysmith of the Scars And Guitars podcast, Phil was asked what he thinks the biggest misconception was about his guitar playing as it relates to his role in MOTÖRHEAD. He responded: "Well, most of the [MOTÖRHEAD] riffs [during my time with the band] are mine all the way through. They'd change 'em a bit and whatever, but basically, 'cause when we were the three-piece, everyone was waiting for me to come up with something to start the songs. Lemmy would have one or two of his own rock songs, rock and roll songs ready usually. But the majority of the stuff… I mean, it's all credited to the three of us anyway, apart from Lemmy's individual songs. But, yeah, people think — I don't know what they think. They don't read the credits, obviously, a lot of people, the writing credits. And I'm definitely not a heavy metal player. People think I might be a heavy metal player. I think they're wrong there."
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Philip Anthony Campbell, who passed away...

EAGLES – One Of These Nights Deluxe Edition Available In MayThe Eagles’ 1975 studio album, One Of These Nights, was a milestone album for the band, earning them their first Grammy® Award and becoming the first of four consecutive #1 albums. Rhino will release a Deluxe Edition of the album on May 1, in advance of the band’s headlining performance at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and upcoming stadium dates as part of The Long Goodbye, Act III.
One Of These Nights (Deluxe Edition) will be available as a 3CD/Blu-ray set featuring a new mix of the original album, an unreleased, 16-song 1975 concert at Anaheim Stadium, and new Dolby Atmos and high-res stereo mixes. A 3LP version, released the same day, will include the new album mix and the full concert recording. The lacquers were cut by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering.
Pre-order here.
Produced by Don Henley, the CD and vinyl editions include a new mix of the album by Rob Jacobs. Originally produced by Bill Szymczyk and recorded at Criteria Studios in Miami and the Record Plant in Los Angeles, One Of These Nights achieved quadruple Platinum certification and the single “Lyin’ Eyes” won the Grammy® Award for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals.
The unreleased live recording captures the Eagles’ performance at the Sunshine Festival in Anaheim on September 28, 1975. Recorded at the end of the tour for One Of These Nights, the show features Henley, Glenn Frey, Randy Meisner, Bernie Leadon, and Don Felder. Their set blends songs from that album (“Lyin’ Eyes,” “Take It To The Limit”) with hits from the group’s first three albums: “Take It Easy,” “Witchy Woman,” “Already Gone,” and “The Best Of My Love.” The show also finds the Eagles in a significant transition period, as it marks Leadon’s final performance with the band while Joe Walsh, who would become an official member months later, joins the group for the encore, performing his song “Rocky Mountain Way.” The penultimate song is a rousing cover of Chuck Berry’s “Carol,” a live staple of the band at the time, marking the first time a recording of the song has ever been included on an Eagles album.
As a preview of the live set, “Carol” is available today for streaming and download. Stream here, and listen below.
The Blu-ray that accompanies the CD set presents the album and the live performance in Dolby Atmos and high-resolution stereo. One Of These Nights (Deluxe Edition) and the Atmos mix of the original album will also be available digitally.
In January 2026, the Eagles became the first band to earn Quadruple Diamond certification by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for sales of more than 40 million units (40x Platinum) of Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975, which remains the best-selling album of all time in the U.S. Additionally, the band’s legendary album, Hotel California, has been re-certified 28x Platinum by the RIAA, scoring the third best-selling album of all time. Before it was certified multi-Diamond, Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975 was the first album ever to be certified Platinum by the RIAA.
The band’s legacy continues onstage as the Eagles—Don Henley, Joe Walsh, and Timothy B. Schmit, with Vince Gill and Deacon Frey—are poised to set the record for longest-running Sphere residency as shows continue on Friday, March 20. Since opening on September 20, 2024, Eagles – Live In Concert At Sphere has drawn more than 700,000 fans across 52 sold-out performances, offering a one-of-a-kind immersive concert experience that provides the ultimate connection to the band’s legendary catalog. Following the Sphere dates, the band will launch The Long Goodbye, Act III, with stadium dates in Atlanta, Nashville, and Arlington.
In the fall of 1971, the Eagles formed, pioneered, and personified a uniquely American musical style, blending country, folk, R&B, rock, and pop sensibilities, and would go on to become one of the most creatively and commercially successful bands of all time. In today’s faddish, fractured rock landscape, the Eagles retain an appeal that transcends both generation and genre, cementing the band’s role as enduring musical icons. The Eagles have sold more than 150 million albums worldwide, scored six #1 albums and topped the singles chart five times. They earned six GRAMMY® Awards, were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1998, and received the Kennedy Center Honors in 2016.

Watch: MICK BOX Rejoins URIAH HEEP On Stage During 'Rock Legends Cruise XIII'After missing the Scandinavian leg of URIAH HEEP's "The Magician's Farewell Tour" due to illness, founding guitarist Mick Box rejoined his bandmates on stage during this year's Rock Legends Cruise XIII, which is sailing February 22-27, 2026 on Royal Caribbean's Liberty Of The Seas. Fan-filmed video of URIAH HEEP's performances on the ship can be seen below.
Joining singer Bernie Shaw, keyboardist Phil Lanzon, drummer Russell Gilbrook and bassist Dave Rimmer on stage for the Scandinavian leg of URIAH HEEP's "The Magician's Farewell Tour" was Sam Wood, who is the guitarist of the THIN LIZZY spinoff outfit BLACK STAR RIDERS, and WAYWARD SONS, the band led by LITTLE ANGELS frontman Toby Jepson.
In September 2024, URIAH HEEP announced its plans to embark on a farewell tour, dubbed "The Magician's Farewell", beginning with a seven-show U.K. run in February 2025.
Box, who hadn't missed any URIAH HEEP shows since the band was founded in 1969, told Classic Rock magazine last year that a number of factors contributed to URIAH HEEP's decision to retire from touring.
"None of us are getting any younger, and since Brexit and COVID, the touring side of the business is becoming tougher and tougher, making it almost impossible to do the really long tours that we like to do," Box said. "Tour bus prices have tripled. The government only allows us 90 days outside of the country. It's more and more difficult, on every front."
In December 2024, Box was asked by Planet Rock's Paul Anthony what he is planning on doing with his time once URIAH HEEP has completed its farewell tour. Mick said: "I guess we'll do [some] writing and go in the recording studio and do other aspects of the of the game, but as I say, we're still gonna be touring, still gonna be playing. It's just that we're not doing the really long stuff. We'll do it in sections rather than a whole long splurge."
After Anthony noted that URIAH HEEP still records new music and is not known as "just a heritage act" which doesn't perform its more recent songs live, Mick concurred. "Well, yeah," he said. "I mean, when you look at it, we've got a lot of classic rock songs. And the new songs are soon to be classic, because it's only time that gives them that title. [Laughs] So, yeah, we look at it like that. And they merge very well, because it's the band doing what the band does, using the same template we had from day one, musically, and that's the Hammond organ, the wah-wah guitar, five[-part vocal harmonies], all that sort of stuff. We just apply that to each song and it's URIAH HEEP."
URIAH HEEP's farewell tour will run for approximately two or three years and will include performances in all parts of the globe.
URIAH HEEP's 25th studio album, "Chaos & Colour", was released in January 2023 via Silver Lining Music. The LP was recorded during the summer of 2021 at Chapel Studios in London with Jay Ruston (ANTHRAX, COREY TAYLOR, BLACK STAR RIDERS) at the helm.
URIAH HEEP debuted in 1970 with the release of one of hard rock's milestones, "Very 'Eavy, Very 'Umble", and has since sold in excess of 40 million albums worldwide. They have constantly toured the world, playing up to 125 shows a year to more than 500,000 fans. The band's live set features the classic tracks from the '70s and is a musical journey from the band's beginnings to the present day.

IRON MAIDEN To Take All Of 2027 Off From Touring, Won't Return To The Road 'Until At Least 2028'British heavy metal legends IRON MAIDEN have announced the Japanese dates of their critically acclaimed "Run For Your Lives" world tour. These will be the final shows of the entire two-year tour and the last chance for fans around the world to witness the state-of-the-art production that accompanies the once-in-a-lifetime setlist of songs from the band's groundbreaking first nine albums.
2026 Japanese tour dates:
Nov. 24 - K-Arena, Yokohama - Japan
Nov. 25 - K-Arena, Yokohama - Japan
MAIDEN first played in Japan in 1981, when they performed in Tokyo on the "Killers" world tour, and since then has returned many times, building a life-long connection with its passionate and devoted Japanese fans. They have performed in a number of cities around the country, with Yokohama prominently featuring among them.
In fact their history of shows in the city stretches back to 1991 when MAIDEN first performed there on the "No Prayer On The Road" tour. Further concerts took place in 1992 on the "Fear Of The Dark" tour, in 2000 on the "Brave New World" tour and 2008 on the "Somewhere Back In Time" tour.
And now, the band is returning once more with its spectacular new production, to perform for the first time at the K-Arena in the city. These two shows will be extra special as they are the very last shows the band will play until at least 2028, as they take a well-earned break from being on the road for the whole of 2027.
IRON MAIDEN's founding bassist Steve Harris says: "We are very excited to be bringing this 'Run For Your Lives' tour to Japan later this year. And even more so as we are ending the entire two-year world tour in Yokohama.
"I have always loved spending time in Japan, and we enjoy coming back whenever we can to play for our fans there. So it feels extra special for us to be sharing the final two nights of this incredible tour with you all in Japan. It's going to make it a truly memorable occasion for us all."
MAIDEN's longtime manager Rod Smallwood comments: "We are delighted to be returning to Japan once again.
"I know it may seem a long time for our Japanese fans to wait to see this show, but it means a lot to us to finish the tour there, and I can promise our fans that they are in for a treat with this setlist and production. We are very excited to share it with you! The band have been loving revisiting this era and especially enjoy playing these songs with the state-of-the-art visuals we've created to accompany them. We've got all the big ones from the early days, including 'Hallowed Be Thy Name', 'Run To The Hills', 'Phantom Of The Opera', 'Trooper', 'Number Of The Beast', 'Killers', 'Powerslave', '2 Minutes To Midnight' and more. Plus there's some true epics including 'Rime Of The Ancient Mariner' and 'Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son', which will be even more special because these shows will be at the very end of the 'Run For Your Lives' tour, and so the final time the band will ever be playing a number of these songs.
"One thing to add, it was really special on our European dates last year to see that the vast majority of our fans appreciated and respected our request to severely limit their use of phones at our concerts, ideally just keeping it in their pockets the whole time, especially in those standing areas in front of the stage. Our fans' understanding and cooperation made a colossal difference to the atmosphere of every show and increased the enjoyment enormously for the band and fans alike. Therefore we ask all our fans in Japan to do the same and enjoy the show 'in the moment' rather than film on their phones. Please keep them in your pockets."
Tickets go on sale on April 25.
Further countries will be announced very soon.
The spring/summer 2025 European leg of MAIDEN's "Run For Your Lives" world tour launched on May 27, 2025 in Budapest, Hungary and concluded on August 2, 2025 in Warsaw, Poland. It marked MAIDEN's first run of shows with new drummer Simon Dawson, who replaced the group's longtime drummer Nicko McBrain in December 2024.
The now-73-year-old McBrain, whose real name is Michael Henry McBrain, announced his retirement on December 7, 2024 in a statement on MAIDEN's web site and social media. He also said that night's concert at Allianz Parque in São Paulo, Brazil would mark his final show with the legendary rock band.
On December 8, 2024, IRON MAIDEN announced Dawson as its new touring drummer.
A native of Suffolk, England, Simon first teamed up with Harris back in 2012. He debuted on three tracks on the first album from Steve's BRITISH LION project and all of BRITISH LION's second LP, the critically acclaimed "The Burning", plus the many subsequent tours in the U.S., Europe, Australia, Japan, New Zealand, Mexico and South America.

ADRIAN SMITH Says Upcoming Official IRON MAIDEN Documentary Includes 'A Few Things That Have Never Come To Light Before'In a new interview with Gastão Moreira of Brazil's Kazagastão, IRON MAIDEN guitarist Adrian Smith was asked if he has seen the band's upcoming feature documentary, titled "Iron Maiden: Burning Ambition", which will hit theaters for a limited time only beginning May 7, 2026. He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): " Yeah, I have. And I really enjoyed it, which might sound funny, but when there's something on a big screen about you, it can be a bit — you wanna hide behind the chairs. But I think it's a good document of the band, and I think fans will enjoy it. There's a few things in there that have never come to light before, and it goes into depth on a few things. So I think people are really gonna enjoy it."
Smith also talked about the "Iron Maiden: Infinite Dreams - The Official Visual History", book which was published globally in hardback in autumn 2025. A magnificent visual celebration of the first 50 years of IRON MAIDEN, the book chronicles the evolution of one of heavy metal's most prestigious groups, with unparalleled input from bandmembers and management.
"I love some of the old photos," Adrian said. "It's almost like a different life back in the '80s when I was in the band, a different person. But I love the stuff in it, like [MAIDEN founder] Steve Harris's diary, talking about getting just a couple of bucks to do a show and having to buy guitar strings and petrol and counting all the pennies. Stuff like that is priceless. It's great that he's kept that stuff."
Asked if he thinks that he and singer Bruce Dickinson took IRON MAIDEN to another level when they joined the band, Adrian said: "I can't really talk about myself, but Bruce definitely did, because as much as we love [former IRON MAIDEN singer] Paul [Di'Anno], I don't think he had the same mindset as Bruce, the same determination to succeed, commitment. Bruce was all about commitment and professionalism, and he could sing night after night after night. And that's what the band needed to do. They needed to go on the road — they needed to go on the road for six, eight months at a stretch. And that's what rock bands have to do. No one's gonna hand them success with, 'Okay, we'll play you on the radio. You'll be stars.' There's none of that."
He continued: "As far as myself, yeah, I've, I've been a part of it. I think we all worked hard to get to another level. Maybe, hopefully my contributions, writing-wise, helped. A lot of the singles that we used, 'Flight Of Icarus' and 'Wasted Years' and stuff like that, were my ideas, my songs — '2 Minutes To Midnight' — co-writes, really. So, I feel like I hopefully contributed in that way, or do contribute."
Directed by Malcolm Venville ("Churchill At War") and produced by Dominic Freeman ("Spirits In The Forest - A Depeche Mode Film"), "Iron Maiden: Burning Ambition" charts IRON MAIDEN's remarkable five‑decade journey.
Alongside the band, the documentary features on‑camera reflections from prominent admirers, including Javier Bardem, Lars Ulrich and Chuck D, each speaking to IRON MAIDEN's influence on music, culture and generations of fans worldwide.
Formed in East London in 1975, IRON MAIDEN has grown into one of the world's most influential and enduring rock bands. Across 50 years they have released 17 studio albums, sold over 100 million records, and performed almost 2,500 concerts across 64 countries.
The documentary arrives as the band continues its two-year "Run For Your Lives" world tour, which included a triumphant homecoming performance at London Stadium a short distance from where it all began five decades ago.
A recently announced, one-of-a-kind, celebration named EddFest in historic Knebworth Park, England, on July 11 forms part of over 50 shows worldwide in 2026.
IRON MAIDEN was founded in 1975 by bassist Steve Harris and has grown to become one of the world's most celebrated bands. With a steady recording output beginning with their self-titled 1980 debut, they have released 17 studio albums, 13 live albums and 47 singles which have sold in excess of 100 million copies worldwide. They have played almost 2,500 live shows across 64 countries and were carried to some of these aboard Ed Force One, a Boeing 757 and then later a 747 piloted by singer Bruce Dickinson. They have been the recipients of a Grammy Award and a Brit Award, among many other accolades, most recently joining THE ROLLING STONES and PINK FLOYD with their very own Royal Mail stamp set. Their beer, Trooper Beer, is now in its twelfth year and has sold in excess of 40 million pints and is distributed in 68 countries, including six local variants in USA, Germany, Brazil, Spain, Sweden and Australia. 2025 marked the band's official 50th year and is being celebrated by a two-year world tour titled "Run For Your Lives" and a range of events and products including their first-ever official hardcover visual history book, the aforementioned "Infinite Dreams".

CANNIBAL CORPSE's PAUL MAZURKIEWICZ: 'It's Crazy To Think That We're Going On The 38th Anniversary Of The Band'In a new interview with Jacob Ridenour of the Wildman podcast, drummer Paul Mazurkiewicz of Florida-based death metallers CANNIBAL CORPSE reflected on his band's four-decade career. Asked how everything is going in his life at the moment, Paul said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "It's going pretty good. I can't complain. I'm just taking it day by day, of course. You just gotta live life to the fullest, I guess, no matter what, when. But yeah, no, [it's going] pretty good overall. I'm in a good place right now personally, with the band, all that kind of stuff. So, yeah, I can't complain — I can't complain whatsoever."
After Ridenour noted that CANNIBAL CORPSE is still "killing it" when it comes to touring and releasing "good music", Paul said: "I appreciate it, man. Thanks. Yeah, that's what we wanna do, of course. That's what we've been doing for many years now. It's crazy to think that we're going on the 38th-year anniversary of the band. And, of course, myself and Alex [Webster, CANNIBAL CORPSE bassist] being the two original members, being there since day one. But, yeah, what a ride it's been, what a journey. And, like you just said, the fact that we're still around and relevant and we feel that we're making good music and fans are coming out to see us all, that kind of thing. It's a great feeling. And we'll just keep going as long as we can. Obviously, at some point, it's gonna have to end. But like I said about just how I'm doing, [we're taking it] day by day. And that's how everything goes — day by day. But either way, it's going great. We're happy to be where we're at and have the fanbase that we have and all those kinds of things. So, man, it's an amazing, amazing thing."
Asked if he ever thought, when he first started CANNIBAL CORPSE, that the band would still be around nearly 40 years later, Paul said: "Well, you definitely don't think that you're gonna be in a band this long, obviously, when I look back. We were just basically teenagers when we started, so your mentality is a little bit different in that regard. None of the bands around at that point — there's no band that's been around for 50, 60 years at that point. So you're going, 'Oh, well, that's crazy to play in a band when you're 40, 50 years old. That doesn't make sense. How can you do that? Why would you do that?' Obviously, you want the band to succeed, you wanna go as long as you can, but I think you're thinking your shelf life or just your life of the band is gonna be a lot shorter than it could be.
"I remember thinking, like, 'Oh yeah, when I'm 40…', which would've been 20 years after the fact the band started, 'Yeah, I'll be old. I'll be 40 years old. Am I gonna be still wanting to play this? I'm gonna settle down, have a family, all that kind of thing,'" he continued. "So, yeah, it's weird that you had those thoughts, of course, back then, so you never thought that you would be still here doing it. And I'll be 58 this year, and who would have ever thought that I'd be still playing drums in a death metal band and then [that we would still be doing] as well as we're doing and all that. We're still relevant and we still have, like I mentioned earlier, a great fanbase and we're doing amazing — probably better than we ever have in those regards. So, yeah, no, not in your wildest dreams did you think that you'd be here still doing it at this point in your life. So, yeah, pretty wild."
On the topic of what still keeps him and his bandmates going after all these years, Paul said: "If you start doing this, you love it and that's your passion and that's what you wanna do. And then I think that's why you become an artist in any capacity, What we do, of course, as musicians, well, that's why we got into it. We wanted to do this. This was our passion. This was our love. And then once you get your foot in the door and you're doing well and all that, why would you wanna stop? I mean, I'd say most people don't. There's gonna be some people that do, obviously, [who say], 'All right, I've had enough. I wanna retire, do something else.' Okay. But I'd say for the majority, and that's why you got the bands still kicking it that are out there — any of these bands. THE ROLLING STONES or whatever, they're 80 years old and they're still doing it. Why would you wanna stop? This is your life. So I think you're gonna do it as long as you can, for the most part… But, yeah, you're just gonna take it as long as you can. I think we feel the same way. It's just gonna come down to health and all that. Can we do it for another five years, 10 years? I mean, who knows? Because, like I mentioned earlier, we never thought we'd be doing it at this point in our lives. So who's to say we can't do it longer or won't be doing it longer? So, yeah, it's pretty wild, but it's who you are and it's a part of you. So you just wanna make the most of it. You only live once and you might only get this opportunity once."
CANNIBAL CORPSE's sixteenth studio album, "Chaos Horrific", was released in September 2023 via Metal Blade Records.
Since 1988, CANNIBAL CORPSE have been at the forefront of death metal, shaping and defining the genre. In 2021, they raised the stakes again with "Violence Unimagined". And in 2023, the band's thirty-fifth anniversary, they returned with its successor, the equally monstrous "Chaos Horrific", starting a new chapter in their storied legacy.
CANNIBAL CORPSE guitarist/producer Erik Rutan has now helmed six of the band's albums, starting with 2006's "Kill". This is Rutan's second release as a full-fledged member, since officially joining in 2020.
"Chaos Horrific" was recorded at Rutan's Mana Studio in Florida. 8

LYNYRD SKYNYRD's RICKEY MEDLOCKE On A.I.-Generated Music: 'Where's The Value In That? Where's The Heart And Soul In That?'In a new interview with Brazil's 92.5 Kiss FM, LYNYRD SKYNYRD guitarist Rickey Medlocke weighed in on a debate about people using an A.I. (artificial intelligence) music generator as a tool to create melodies, harmonies and rhymes based on artificial intelligence (A.I.) algorithms and machine learning (M.L.) models. Rickey said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "I think that, honestly, I'm not really in favor because I've seen now where the top Billboard charts here not too long ago, one of the number one songs on the top 100 Billboard country charts was a completely A.I.-generated song. Where's the value in that? Really, to be honest with you, where's the heart and soul in that? There is none."
Referencing the fact that there has been an increase in the number of rock bands who rely heavily on pre-recorded tracks during their live performances, Rickey continued: "We go on stage and we have no recorded instruments that is playing for us. It's all real instruments that's being played. And you know what? ! We're very proud of that. We're very proud of that. We hold on to that. And there's never gonna be a time where you've got extra recorded vocals singing the songs or the backgrounds. We've got two great [backing] singers, with my lady, my wife Stacy Michelle, and Carol Chase, along with Johnny [Van Zant, LYNYRD SKYNYRD singer]. And then I sing some.
"I gotta tell you: You gotta go out there and be for real," Rickey added. "Come on. If you can't go out there and produce for real, then I'm not really sure what you're doing. You're kind of being there for everybody to look at, and, okay, you created this song, but you're singing to the track that was created and recorded. What happened to the reality?
"And all this A.I. generated stuff… Hey, maybe in some ways A.I. is good for certain things, I guess. I haven't used it enough to know, and I haven't been around it enough to know, and maybe I don't wanna be around it enough to know," Medlocke concluded. "And I love having all my guitars sitting all over my home and out in the studio. And I just love being able to walk from room to room, and there's one sitting there, and if I get the the notion to write or just play, I can pick it up — boom — I have at it. And A.I. can't do that."

EXODUS's TOM HUNTING: 'I'm Almost At The Five-Year Point Now Of Being Without Cancer'In a new interview with the "Talk Louder" podcast, hosted by veteran music journalist "Metal Dave" Glessner and lifelong hard rock/metal vocalist Jason McMaster, EXODUS's Tom Hunting offered an update on his health, nearly five years after he underwent a successful total gastrectomy during his battle with squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) of the stomach. The 60-year-old drummer said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "They test [me] all the time. They do pretty thorough scans every six months. I'm almost at the five-year point now of being without cancer, and I'm stoked about the [science]. I had a lot of good people to talk to also on the journey. And I'm really thankful for the science and what they were able to do for me. They basically crushed it. I just had to kind of go along for the ride and just lean into that science and just try to keep my attitude focused. Laughter and just love and all those things culminated into a good outcome for me so far."
Hunting went on to say that he is continuing to work on getting his energy and stamina levels back to their pre-surgery levels. "I feel like I'm still building that up, man," he explained. "I think every day is part of the journey. They took my stomach out, so my core couldn't have gotten more damaged. But it had to happen. They had to do what they did. And I'm skiing a lot. I love snow skiing, trying to get my core strong, and playing drums. And the bonus of all that is both things are fucking fun. So, yeah, I'm lucky."
Back in April 2025, Tom told Radioactive MikeZ, host of the 96.7 KCAL-FM program "Wired In The Empire", that he "went from the four-month scan plan to the five-month scan plan, and then I've been locked in to a six-month scan plan" following his surgery. He continued: "I feel good. I'm eating good. I just kind of take it day by day and try not to give cancer too much energy. And I think everything's okay, but… if I start thinking about it, I get what I call scanxiety, which is a real thing."
In February 2023, Hunting told Radioactive MikeZ about how he was first diagnosed with cancer: "The first thing that happened [is] I was losing weight and I didn't have hunger for food. It's hard to explain what that would feel like. In the past, I've had those kind of flareups and it was always due to anxiety or something. But this felt different. And it was lingering. I was going to see doctors. And they did a bunch of scans. They didn't see anything in the scans. All the blood work was good. And then they sent a camera inside there.
"I urge anybody who's having a gut problem, if [the problems] persist, they're gonna do a CT scan first. Tell them you want an endoscopy. That's the best test out there. It probably saved my ass, looking back."
Tom continued: "I was taking antacid stuff, like Pepcid and whatever. And I probably took that Zantac drug that they're talking about causing cancer. I brought that up to my doctors too. Zantac has a lot of the same stuff that your Pepcids and your other ones have in it too. And at the end of the day, you shouldn't have to take that shit for, like, a year. So, that was there. It was an esophageal type of cancer that showed up in what is called the cardinal region of my stomach; it was forming in there and causing me not to eat. I couldn't burp. That was another one. I had this tumor inside me, and I couldn't burp. And as soon as they gave me my first dose of chemo, before the surgery, something loosened up in there and I was able to burp. It felt so good. [Laughs]"
According to Hunting, he "ended up having two different kinds of cancer. They found a tumor inside my stomach," he said. "So then they do what they call a laparoscopic surgery, which they send two things inside of you. They make two cuts and they send a camera inside of you to physically explore the region and the outside region. And mine was in a weird spot; mine was in my stomach. So, okay, they wanted to check out the outside of the stomach lining — some crazy testing that they've gotta do. But it's all part of the process to make you a candidate for the surgery. When they did the laparoscopic [procedure] with me, it's two incisions, it's a camera that goes in and another tool that moves your organs out of the way for this camera to go do its job. So they found nodules of mesothelioma on my abdomen wall."
When asked if the doctors said there was anything in particular that caused his cancer, such as eating habits, lifestyle, living or working environments, genetics, or something else, Hunting replied: "I asked the specialist, I was, like, 'Did I do something to [cause] this? Did I do a brake job on my car and sniffed asbestos or some shit?' And he said it could have been anything. That cancer could have been just environmental, and it just happened.
"It's funny, 'cause had I not had the original cancer, I never would have needed a laparoscopic procedure to begin with, and they never would have found the mesothelioma," Tom explained. "But for a minute, when they were doing that test, what they thought they were looking at was the same type of cancer that they saw in my stomach. So there was a minute there where I was, like, stage four plus plus plus, like, 'Give him chemo. Keep him comfortable.' I wouldn't have been a candidate to even get any kind of surgery. So they found out it was a different type of cancer that was in my stomach. That makes you a candidate to get the surgery and the treatment after to try to knock out any nodules of mesothelioma that they would find in there."
Regarding his post-surgery recovery, Hunting said: "They took out 42 lymph nodes and my stomach and all this crazy surgery — like two surgeries in one surgery — and they didn't find one speck of cancer in one of the lymph nodes, which is, like, 'Holy shit.' If you're going through it, that's the fucking jackpot. The best three words you can hear are 'nothing to see'.
"Fortunately, it's been… After the surgery, I got six months, or five and a half months of immunotherapy, 'cause they found out that the chemo didn't affect the cancer like they wanted it to, so they did the surgery. It trains your immune system to go out and kill rogue cells that it finds. It's pretty high-tech shit. And I'm a beneficiary of that too."
Tom added: "Science is great. And I had a lot of good people to talk to along the way to help me out. And that's kind of where I'm at now. I wanna be that ear for somebody who's recently getting told that news.
"I'm thankful. And I'm definitely one of the lucky ones. Science is killer, and what they're able to do for people in my situation and others nowadays is leaps and bounds from what they could do even five years ago."
In December 2021, Hunting told the "Put Up Your Dukes" podcast that he wanted to use his experience as a cancer survivor to interact with others who may be going through a similar situation.
"I'm not qualified now, but I think in a couple of more months, they deem me qualified to talk to other people about this disease, and I'm gonna do it," he said. "'Cause I want people to know about it and I want people to get checked. Just going public with it — I don't do social media, but what I read on the EXODUS [sites] was, like, 'Hey, I'm having gut problems too,' and, 'I'm gonna go get checked out now.' I hope people get the answers they're looking for."
"I'm not saying those drugs that they give you for your gut are bad. They get you by. But if you're having what you think is a gut problem, tell 'em you wanna get scoped. 'Cause some of those scans and some of those tests, they won't pick up what's going on inside there.
"Since I'm on this journey, dude, they're fucking scanning me constantly," Tom added. "'Cause they wanna see how I'm reacting to what they're doing too. So it's all part of the science and the evolution of the science. If they can help me live — and I love my life — and I can help them develop the science to help the next batch of people who you know are gonna get this shit, that's a win-win."
Hunting rejoined his EXODUS bandmates on stage in October 2021 at the Aftershock festival in Sacramento, California.
A GoFundMe campaign to help Hunting with medical expenses had previously raised more than $114,000 — including $5,000 from Tom's former EXODUS bandmate, current METALLICA guitarist Kirk Hammett, and $1,500 from FOZZY singer and wrestling superstar Chris Jericho.
EXODUS's twelfth studio album, "Goliath", will arrive on March 20 via Napalm Records. 1
