Marilyn Manson's music video for his cover version of Gerard McMahon's "Cry Little Sister", which is best known as the theme to the 1987 cult classic "The Lost Boys", can be seen below. The shock rocker recorded the song for the soundtrack of the forthcoming X-Men movie "The New Mutants", which is due in August 2019.

Manson's clip for "Cry Little Sister" was filmed with director Bill Yukich. The singer teased the video on Instagram in May, describing it as "a supernatural experience."

Over the years, Manson has released a number of covers, including his versions of the EURYTHMICS' "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)", SOFT CELL's "Tainted Love" and DEPECHE MODE's "Personal Jesus".

Manson's music has been featured on quite a few movie soundtracks, including "Spawn", "Queen Of The Damned", "The Matrix" and "Resident Evil". Most recently, his cover of MINISTRY's song "Stigmata" appeared on the "Atomic Blonde" soundtrack.

Marilyn Manson and Rob Zombie will join forces for the "Twins of Evil - The Second Coming" tour this sumer. The 29-date North American trek will kick off in Detroit on July 11.

Today, DevilDriver has revealed the final segment in their series of interview commentary videos supporting the release of Outlaws 'Til The End: Vol. 1. The sixth segment, entitled Playing These Songs Live, features members of DevilDriver and various album guests discussing performing the songs on the album live and how they'll translate to the stage and on the road.

Frontman Dez Fafara says, "I'd like to [take this out on the road], I think we're going to see what happens... if we can take it out and have some of these guests... it would be great. It's basically based on giving the fans something fantastic in the meantime while they're waiting on another record."

Album guest Randy Blythe of Lamb Of God adds, "Absolutely. If we were able to do a live show, particularly with all of the people involved, all of the guest vocalists, I would be super pumped on it. I don't think it would survive a tour, but a couple of shows would be a whole lot of fun... we could do a hell of a show for sure. I think it would be a lot of fun."

LED ZEPPELIN has released a remastered version of its classic song "Black Dog" from the upcoming expanded box set of the 1976 live album and soundtrack "The Song Remains The Same". Check it out below.

LED ZEPPELIN was at the peak of its powers on July 27-29 1973 when the band's performances at New York's Madison Square Garden were recorded for the concert film "The Song Remains The Same". The soundtrack to the film, produced by Jimmy Page, was originally released on Swan Song in 1976.

The band continues revisiting their live canon on September 7 with a new edition of the soundtrack to "The Song Remains The Same" that features newly remastered audio. This release follows the recent reissue of their live album "How The West Was Won", and rounds out the deluxe reissue series of their classic albums that began in 2014, building to the band's 50th-anniversary celebration slated to commence later this year. Coincidentally, John Bonham, John Paul Jones, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant played their first live show together, under the moniker THE NEW YARDBIRDS at the time, on September 7, 1968.


"The Song Remains The Same" will be released in multiple formats from Atlantic/Swan Song, including the full album's debut in hi-res 5.1 surround sound on Blu-ray. The Super Deluxe Boxed Set will be the most exquisite and elaborate release in the reissue series, recreating the intricate embossing of the set's original issue and will also mark the first time the full-length film and soundtrack have been available in the same package. On the four-LP set, Page made a change to the track sequence, allowing the epic, 29-minute version of "Dazed And Confused" to be featuring in its entirety on one side of vinyl for the first time.

With four studio albums under their belt, headline tours, support slots for metal giants such as Machine Head, Epica, and Life Of Agony plus several appearances at Europe's biggest festivals: Belgian dark rock outfit Diablo Blvd's career has brought them countless remarkable events and made them travel back and forth across the continent. Sadly, the band has decided to call it quits. They have issued the following statement:

"To all of you reading this message, we will start by announcing our first headline show ever at the legendary Ancienne Belgique venue on the 10th of December 2018. For some reason we never played the AB before so we're absolutely thrilled to finally head over to one of Belgium's most beautiful venues. No doubt this will be a night to remember especially because it will also be our last show ever. Yes, you're reading this right: the DB is calling it a day. 

We can imagine this might come as a surprise to many of you. Even for us it feels unreal knowing that we are about to close a very important chapter in our lives. Over the last 13 years we've seen a lot of things come and go but we always did this our way. There's no negativity here, there's only love. We thank you all for your undying support and for giving us the time of our lives. We hereby invite you all to the Ancienne Belgique on the 10th of December for the final curtain. Ticket presale will start tomorrow (Friday 29th of June at 11AM) via abconcerts.be. Swedish death metal act Feral recently revealed the cover artwork and title of their upcoming album, Flesh For Funerals Eternal.  The cover art was created by Costin Chioreanu, and the album will be released through Transcending Obscurity Records later this year.

British heavy metal legends JUDAS PRIEST played their classic song "Victim Of Changes" live for the first time this year Thursday night (June 28) at Sala Cubec in Bilbao, Spain.

Joining the band on stage to perform the concert's four-song encore — "Metal Gods", "Breaking The Law", "Living After Midnight" and " Victim Of Changes" — was guitarist Glenn Tipton.

Tipton — who revealed in February that he has Parkinson's disease — previously played three songs with JUDAS PRIEST at several stops on the band's recent U.S. tour, including in Newark, New Jersey; Uncasville, Connecticut; Worcester, Massachusetts; Kent, Washington; Portland, Oregon; San Francisco, California; Las Vegas, Nevada; and Los Angeles, California. It marked his first public performances since announcing his retirement from touring. He told BUILD Series about the experience of once again sharing the stage with his bandmates: "It's just amazing to get, first of all, support from the band. The texts and e-mails from all over world, and to hear the audience was very emotional. You don't like to see a grown man cry, but we did."

Asked if he is planning on making more live appearances with the group, Glenn told 105.7 WAPL: "I think so, yeah. As long as I'm capable of going on stage and doing my parts and doing it well. I love it — I love to be on stage with PRIEST, and I'll do it for as long as I can."

Tipton found out he had Parkinson's four years ago — after being stricken by the degenerative condition at least half a decade earlier — but only recently announced he was going to sit out touring activities in support of PRIEST's latest album, "Firepower". The guitarist, who is now 70 and has performed on every PRIEST LP since the band's 1974 debut set, "Rocka Rolla", is not quitting the band, but simply cannot handle the rigorous challenges of performing live. He is being replaced on tour by "Firepower" album producer Andy Sneap, also known for his work as the guitar player in NWOBHM revivalists HELL and cult thrash outfit SABBAT.

JUDAS PRIEST kicked off the "Firepower" world tour on March 13 at Mohegan Sun Arena in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.

"Firepower" was released on March 9 via Epic.

The North American leg of the "Firepower" tour wrapped on May 1 in San Antonio, Texas.

Ian Gillan's love for American soul and R&B as well as skiffle and early rock and roll has been well documented in many articles and interviews.

Founded in the early 60s, THE JAVELINS were influenced by pop, soul, country, jazz and blues artists from America. They soaked up the music of their heroes, added their own stamp and went from town to town to perform their favourite songs in front of a small but ever growing audience — becoming local heroes themselves.

This was the time when Ian Gillan discovered himself, broke the chains and "found his voice."


THE JAVELINS paved the way for the Ian Gillan who, only a few years later, wrote music history with DEEP PURPLE, becoming one of the most iconic frontmen of all time and, together with very few others, shaped rock music the way we know it today.

"These contemporary recordings (2018) by THE JAVELINS are drawn from our set lists, circa 1963, when I was 18 years old. Now, a few years later, I have the privilege and joy of working with my old mates from the original group; Gordon Fairminer (lead guitar); Tony Tacon (rhythm guitar); Tony Whitfield (bass guitar); Keith Roach (drums), as we make a long-overdue LP."

Ian Gillan has defined this new studio album as "a collection of catchy rhythms and feel-good melodies". This understating definition shows Gillan's ability to still look at those songs and his whole career with the same eyes of the 18-year-old boy who sang them many years ago.

But there is a lot more to this recordings…

By paying tribute to music legends such as Chuck Berry, THE DRIFTERS, Jerry Lee Lewis, Ray Charles, Buddy Holly and Bo Diddley, IAN GILLAN & THE JAVELINS have not only managed to do that.

Avoiding the use of any modern technology, the band has managed to find the spontaneity and true sense of freedom of pop and rock and roll music of 50 years ago, probably without completely realizing it themselves.

One world superstar and four friends who have taken very different directions in life (none decided to "turn pro" as they would say it) but still able to capture the essence of what being a performing band is about.

This album is what happened during four days of recordings in a studio in Hamburg, Germany, where instruments, microphones, lyrics sheets and memories were the only tools allowed.

This album is not an act of nostalgia, or a celebration of the purity of the old days versus modernity. This is simply what the Javelins were in 1963… and this is what they are now, if they happen to meet in the studio, embracing their guitars and look at each other with a big smile on their face.

This is where it all started.

"Ian Gillan & The Javelins" has been recorded at the Chameleon Studios during a five-day recording session in Hamburg, March 2018, Germany. It features Don Airey (DEEP PURPLE) as special guest on piano. It will be released on August 31 on earMUSIC as CD digipak, 1LP gatefold (180g, black) and digital.

Gillan told Kaaos TV about THE JAVELINS: "The guys in the band, most of them tickled along at the occasional gig and they practiced, but most of them haven't really played in any progressive way for 50 years or more — 55, 56 years now.

"I prepared all the material with Steve Morris, my old partner from Liverpool — not Steve Morse; Steve Morris. And we sent the tapes, 16 songs, to each of the guys, and said, 'Okay, practice like crazy for six weeks.' And so we all met in the studio in Hamburg and we recorded 10 songs on the first day. And the whole 16 were recorded in two days, and then the solos and extra bits and pieces, a few mistakes, were repaired on a Wednesday, and then we did a video, and that was it. It was unbelievable."

He continued: "I was listening to the rough mixes, before we put on the vocal backings, the girls, and the brass section, because a lot of those old songs, like THE COASTERS and Ray Charles, had brass sections on them, so we're doing it authentically, augmenting the band. But, you know, because they hadn't played professionally for 50 years, they didn't evolve at all — they kept playing in the style which was in 1962, and consequently, when I'm listening to it, I think, 'My God! This is so authentic. It sounds just exactly as it did in those days.' It's not musicians from today trying to do a retro version of those songs, which I've heard plenty of, and they're always high production — there's no breathing space; no nothing. It sounds, to me, just as I remember it.

"Of course, we're all in our 70s, and we're like a bunch of school boys in the studio," he added. "We had a reunion a couple of years ago — at Christmas, we all went on a boat up the river Thames and had a fantastic night. And it was great — the old banter was still there, the jokes and the sense of humor. And it was wonderful — just truly wonderful. A great experience for these guys who have not been in a studio like that before. We did try another project a few years ago and made another set. So I think there were some nerves and some apprehension prior to the session, but by God, they went through it great. After every day's work, we sat down, we had a meal and drank some beers together and just talked about things. It was great. It was certainly a fantastic experience."

On September 7, 2018, Eagle Vision will release "Yes: 50th Anniversary Live At The Apollo" on DVD, Blu-ray, 2CD and 3LP.

Belzebubs is a “trve kvlt mockumentary” focusing on the everyday challenges of family life: raising kids, running a small business, and making time for worship. Except the kids are named Lilith and Leviathan, the business is a black-metal band, and the worship… isn’t exactly aimed upstairs.

In a few short years, what started out as improvised social-media doodles has now become a wildly successful webcomic with hundreds of thousands of fans. Acclaimed alternative rock pioneers THE SMASHING PUMPKINS have released a music video for their new single, "Solara". Directed by Nick Koenig, the dreamlike clip expands on the theatrics of the band's catalog of iconic music videos.

"Solara" marks the band's first recording to feature frontman Billy Corgan, guitarist James Iha and drummer Jimmy Chamberlin together in 18 years. The track, which was produced by Rick Rubin, also features longtime guitarist Jeff Schroeder.

Corgan, Iha and Chamberlin last played together on 2000's "Untitled". "Untitled" was Iha's last PUMPKINS recording prior to "Solara", while Chamberlin's was 2009's "FOL".

Original SMASHING PUMPKINS bassist D'Arcy Wretzky is is not taking part at all in the band's reunion after recently claiming that Corgan offered to have her come out and do sporadic appearances on the upcoming reunion tour.

Corgan did not mince words about Wretzky in a New York Times interview, saying he has not seen her in 19 years and was horrified she shared their private correspondence about the PUMPKINS reunion tour online. Corgan explained: "I think what she did demonstrates why she couldn't be involved. I was vulnerable and shared things and trusted that there was a reason to give it a chance, despite plenty of empirical evidence that that was not a wise decision."

Corgan added that the bridge between him and Wretzky — with whom he started rebuilding his friendship two years ago — is now burned "forever."

But the Times also spoke with Wretzky herself, who said that Corgan misled her about the reunion. She revealed: "He was stringing me along and using me to be able to say that it was, in fact, a reunion of all the members. Billy can be incredibly charming and funny and fun, but when it comes to money and giving credit where credit is due and any kind of work situation, it's not pretty."

Wretzky said there were disagreements about how the members would be paid, with Corgan making twice as much as the others. She added: "I really wanted to do this tour for the right reasons. If everybody was doing it for free, I would have done it for free."

The "Shiny And Oh So Bright" tour, which will reportedly focus on the band's first five albums, kicks off on July 12 in Glendale, Arizona.

Gavin Rossdale says that BUSH will enter the studio later in the year to make a "super-heavy" new album.

The band's latest effort, 2017's "Black And White Rainbows", was crafted after the frontman went through a divorce with pop star/reality TV judge Gwen Stefani in 2015.

Describing BUSH's new songs as "full of resistance and opinion and energy," Rossdale told Lazer 103.3's Andy Hall that he was inspired to make a harder-sounding album because "I just like heavier music. When we made the last record, it was in the middle of a certain time, and it was a little bit more… a different time going on for me," he explained. "I was doing 'The Voice' [Editor's note: Gavin was one of the judges on 'The Voice UK'] and there was a wider audience going on, so it was a more open record, and I'm really proud of it. But it's really fun to go in the studio and just do some good, heavy music and sing to that. I still sing the same way, but the music is just heavy and richer."

Asked if there is a particular producer he has in mind to helm BUSH's upcoming album, Rossdale said: "The record I've enjoyed a lot is MASTODON's new record [2017's 'Emperor Of Sand'], so Brendan O'Brien is a big favorite of mine. With these guys that are top dogs, you don't know who's available. So there's a bunch — Bob Rock is always incredible, Nick Raskulinecz … So it's just a case of trying to figure out everyone's schedules. But I'm excited to make it."

Gavin also talked about how the songwriting process has changed for him since the release of BUSH's multi-platinum debut album, 1994's "Sixteen Stone".

"I think the studios have just gotten better, so I can demo [the songs] up and [make them] sound really powerful," he said. "So I think demoing, in a way, is a bit more fun, but it all comes down to being creative, and nothing beats the alchemy of a chord structure and then words that mean something. No matter how the technology is, whatever technological context you're in, it's just when you have something interesting to say and it sounds good."

Rossdale went on to say that he gets "harder" on himself during the creative phase "because I know I have less time left to mess around and there's other things to be done outside of being in the studio and being exploratory for three months. That's why I wanted to write the record when I came off a tour at Christmas — I just went in and spent two months and wrote 10 songs. And then, I was done with that job, and that then allows us to go and play live and think about the whole live thing and then get into the studio with the new songs."

BUSH's current lineup also includes drummer Robin Goodridge, guitarist Chris Traynor and bassist Corey Britz.

The group, which broke up in 2002 but reunited in 2010, has released three albums since reforming.

A remastered version of "Black And White Rainbows" was made available last fall with bonus tracks.

Last October, Rossdale participated in LINKIN PARK's Los Angeles memorial concert for late singer Chester Bennington, performing the song "Leave Out All The Rest".

Considered a mainstay among the hard rock drum circuit, Lonnie Hammer has recorded on 17 albums, many of which have become cemented in rock history. Now, the acclaimed singer/songwriter and musician has announced that he is releasing the debut album Total Annihilation by his latest project Hammer Down Hard on Friday, July 27th.

The brainchild of Hammer (Jack Russell’s Great White, Every Mother’s Nightmare, Black Oak Arkansas) with assistance from manager Kim Allegrezza (The Allegrezza Agency), Hammer Down Hard features some of the finest musicians in the hard rock and heavy metal music scene including Justin Rimer (Twelve Stones) on guitar and bass.

"For a long time, I've longed to write and record an album that came straight from my heart. I have been very fortunate in my career as a drummer but over the years so much has been bottled up inside. And although I played drums on this album, I felt it was time to move up front as a lyricist and vocalist and let it all out. It feels great to finally be honest and open up my soul to everyone. This is my story and a tribute to everyone who has struggled and fought for themselves”, said Hammer.

The album, which was written by Hammer and Rimer, was produced by Rimer and recorded at CrossTrax Studios. It is being described by Hammer as a “powerhouse of adrenaline-fuelled, high-energy rock n’ roll with honest, snarling vocals and shear metal fury”.

To create this unique, thunderous, but melodically-driven sound, Hammer brought in some of the most elite musicians in the industry today to make special appearances on the record. The album’s eponymous single, which will be released Friday, August 3rd, features Donnie Wayne Smith from Winger on guitar, just one of many Smith performs. Also featured on the release are: guitarists Wayne Swinny (Saliva), Tony Cardenas Montana (Great White), Brian Quinn (Candlebox), Lou Kavouras (Riot and 2018 Hall of Heavy Metal History Inductee) and Bassist Devin Hightower (Surrender The Fall). But perhaps the most recognizable is Zach Myers from Shinedown who lends his talents to the masterfully-crafted “Who I Am”.

"Things were going really great in the studio and we knew we had some strong songs - strong enough to ask some friends to play on it,” said Hammer. “Things started snowballing after they heard the roughs. Next thing I know we had all these heavy weight players on board and killin' it! What an honour!"

To celebrate the release of the album, Hammer Down Hard will be opening Rock Fest 2018 in Cadott, WI, on July 11th and will be sharing the stage that night with music legends Ace Frehley, Skid Row and Autograph.

Progressive metal stalwarts Jasun and Troy Tipton - known for their work in Zero Hour, Cynthesis, Abnormal Thought Patterns, and more over the past two decades - arise in 2018 with their newest musical entity, A Dying Planet. The outfit has completed its debut album, Facing The Incurable, and has slated it for independent release in August, this week dispatching the track listing, cover art, preorders, and a brief trailer for the record.
 
Hailing from Northern California, twin brothers Tipton -- Jasun (guitar) and Troy (vocals) -- are the collective creative force behind A Dying Planet. The project started with one song, "Missing," which Jasun had written. He played the track for Troy, who has not been able to play bass for several years now due to a serious arm injury, and immediately expressed his desire to write and perform vocals for the material. As more new material was created, Jasun reached out to drummer Marco Bicca and bassist Brian Hart to forge a very talented rhythm section, and the lineup was complete. The four members then headed to the studio and self-tracked what would become their debut album.
 
With six tracks surging with nearly fifty-three minutes of driving, dynamic material, A Dying Planet's Facing The Incurable was mixed Forrester Savell (Animals As Leaders, Sikth) and mastered by Alan Douches (Between The Buried And Me, Mastodon). The album features contributions from several guest musicians, including keyboards on "Missing" Bill Jenkins, and vocals on "Resist" Paul Villarreal, on "Poisoning The Well" by Erik Rosvold, and on "Facing The Incurable" and "Missing' by Luda Arno. The album is completed with photography by Brian Kirksey and cover artwork by Erick Wurm Pollard.

A Dying Planet's Facing The Incurable will see independent release through the band's own CynNormal Lab Recordings on CD and digital platforms on August 14th; watch for preorders and additional audio and video samples from the album to be issued preceding its release date.

Tomas Haake says that fans shouldn't expect to see a new MESHUGGAH studio album from before "2020 at the earliest."

The experimental Swedish metal group's last disc, "The Violent Sleep Of Reason", came out in 2016 and resulted in a "Best Metal Performance" Grammy nomination for the song "Clockworks".

Asked by Hayley Leggs at last weekend's Hellfest in Clisson, France what MESHUGGAH's plans are for the coming months, Haake said (see video below): "We'll do a few more shows now in the summer, and then we'll do probably South America in the fall. And apart from that, we don't really know at this point. We're probably gonna do kind of a similar run next year for festivals — try to hit whatever festivals we couldn't make match up this time; see if we can make another three- or four-week run next year. But we have to start writing at some point, so this fall or in the wintertime, we'll probably start writing for the next album. But the next album will not be out until 2020 at the earliest."

"The Violent Sleep Of Reason" was produced by the band and was engineered by Tue Madsen of Puk Studios in Kaerby, Denmark.

For "The Violent Sleep Of Reason" cover, MESHUGGAH once again enlisted Keerych Luminokaya who created the artwork for "Koloss" and "The Ophidian Trek" as well as the new images for each of the seven albums and three EPs featured in the "25 Years Of Musical Deviance" box set.

"Shadowtaker", the new video from German gothic death pioneers ATROCITY, can be seen below. The track is taken from the band's new album, "Okkult II", which will be released on July 6 via Massacre Records. The production was once again handled by ATROCITY mainman Alex Krull (Mastersound Studio), who made sure that the songs are as heavy as possible, while the atmosphere and energy of the songs let the listener immediately dive into the occult lyrical concept. The fantastic artwork was created by Stefan Heilemann of Heilemania (LINDEMANN, PAIN, KAMELOT, EPICA).

The "Shadowtaker" video was produced by Rainer ZIPP Fränzen / Und Action! in cooperation with Mastersound Entertainment.

"Okkult II" features guest vocals from L.G. Petrov of ENTOMBED A.D. and Marc Grewe, formerly of MORGOTH. The effort will also be made available as a limited-edition vinyl LP as well as a limited-edition mediabook with a different artwork as well as a bonus CD that includes all songs as an instrumental version.

Canadian progressive sci-fi metal innovators VOIVOD recently played a new song called "Obsolete Beings" for the Musik Universe web site. Check out video footage of the performance below.

"Obsolete Beings" is taken from VOIVOD's new album, "The Wake", which will be released on September 21 via Century Media Records. "The Wake" is the highly anticipated follow-up to 2013's "Target Earth" album and the 2016 mini-album "Post Society".

Commented VOIVOD drummer Michel "Away" Langevin: "We are thrilled to let you know that our new album, 'The Wake', is completed! The music is like a futuristic prog thrash metal trek with many twists and turns, and the story involves the usual Voivodian topics: disasters, chaos, conflicts, strange plots and alternate consciousness. We are excited with the result and can't wait to get the material out to you this fall! Also, try to catch us when we tour Europe in September and October. It will be a great opportunity for the band to test some songs from our upcoming album."

Langevin told the Impact metal channel that the band's next record would be "a concept album, very intricate. It's very progressive thrash. Lots of psychedelia as well. The songs are pretty long. There is only one short rocker; all the rest is progressive music. It's a continuation of [2016's] 'Post Society' [EP]."

The "Post Society" EP was issued in February 2016 via Century Media. It was the follow-up to 2013's "Target Earth", which marked VOIVOD's first album of new material written without original guitarist Denis "Piggy" D'Amour's leftover riffs.

VOIVOD singer Denis "Snake" Bélanger told Metal Wani about the passing of Piggy and the eventual addition of Daniel "Chewy" Mongrain prior to the making of "Target Earth": "Of course, the loss of Piggy was a terrible thing. We couldn't do, really, anything for two or three years; we didn't know what would be the future of the band. And we finally found a guy [Chewy] that could play VOIVOD [music]. And it's sort of a mixture of circumstances that happened. It's, like, 'Okay, maybe there's a light at the end of the tunnel. Maybe if we pick up this guy who learned, actually…' The first thing [Chewy] learned [to play] was VOIVOD. The first show he saw was VOIVOD. And the [day after] he saw VOIVOD, he bought a guitar and started playing Piggy's riffs. So, for us, Chewy was the best option."

METAL ALLEGIANCE — with its four core members: David Ellefson (MEGADETH), Alex Skolnick (TESTAMENT), Mike Portnoy (THE WINERY DOGS, ex-DREAM THEATER) and Mark Menghi — began as a celebration of heavy metal, powered by the almost tribal bond shared between the extreme music community's most revered trailblazers, armed with a list of contributors onstage (and off) that read like a Wikipedia entry on the genre itself.

The band will release its sophomore album, "Volume II - Power Drunk Majesty", on September 7 via Nuclear Blast Entertainment. The thrash-worshiping disc merges old-school legends with the modern metallers of the scene to produce groove-driven, adrenaline-soaked anthems while tackling the frustrating state of the world.

In the first trailer for "Volume II - Power Drunk Majesty", the core four members discuss the differences between their debut album and the follow-up effort.

Skolnick comments: "The first time around we were kids in a candy store. We could do whatever we wanted — all different eras, all different types of influences. We did go in a few different directions on this album, but not quite as many. This time, I think we have a much better sense of what type of songs really fit the project."

A public memorial for late PANTERA drummer Vinnie Paul Abbott will be held on Sunday, July 1 at Bomb Factory in Dallas, Texas.

Fans interested in attending "Vinnie Paul: A Public Celebration Of Life" must receive a wristband to enter the Bomb Factory. The line for wristbands will begin at noon outside the venue prior to the 3:33 p.m. memorial. The event announcement notes: "There are no advance tickets, lines or lists."

The musician's funeral will be held on Saturday, June 30, with the private service also scheduled to begin at 3:33 p.m.

Vinnie Paul passed away on Friday (June 22) at his home in Las Vegas at the age of 54. The former PANTERA drummer's death "did not appear suspicious," according to the official report of the event recorded by Metropolitan Police officers.

Sources close to Vinnie told the Las Vegas Review-Journal that he suffered a "major heart attack," but that information has not been corroborated yet by an official source.

After an official cause of death has been determined, Vinnie's body will be flown to Texas to be buried between his mother and brother.

Abbott's brother, guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott, was shot to death in December 2004 while performing onstage. The Abbotts founded the bands PANTERA and DAMAGEPLAN together. After Dimebag's death, Vinnie Paul joined singer Chad Gray and other members of MUDVAYNE and NOTHINGFACE in HELLYEAH, who have released five albums.

According to TMZ, Vinnie Paul Abbott will be buried in a custom "Kiss Kasket" provided by Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley. The casket was offered as a gift at Vinnie's family's request. Vinnie will also be laid to rest in some of his clothes, including his hat, shoes and flannel. (See pictures at TMZ.)

The former PANTERA drummer's brother, "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott, was buried in the original KISS casket prototype in 2004 after his untimely death. The coffin featured the faces of the four founding members of KISS, the KISS logo and the words "Kiss Forever".

Darrell was a huge KISS fan and even had a tattoo of original KISS guitarist Ace Frehley on his chest. In addition, Darrell had Frehley autograph it and had that tattooed to his body as well.

Simmons announced he was giving Dimebag's family the coffin during a December 2004 appearance on Fox News' "The Big Story Weekend Edition With Rita Cosby" a couple of days after the guitarist's death. Simmons told Cosby: "Well, I wasn't really prepared to talk about it, but the family requested, as a personal issue between the family and the grieving people who are going to be there, to send a Kiss Kasket. We initially did it as a promotion. And you know, I think it meant a lot to Darrell when, you know — when he was alive, he gave lots of people great joy. I mean he had the band tattooed onto his chest. He was a major figure in rock and roll. He's going to be greatly missed. And the family wish — you know the one last wish they had was that he be buried in a Kiss Kasket. And I think it's a private matter for the family and the fans, actually."

In a 2015 interview with The Washington Times, Vinnie Paul was asked if had a favorite rock 'n' roll memory. He responded: "PANTERA was the opening band on the KISS reunion tour in 1997, with all the original members. We toured with them in South America. We did three nights in Mexico City, then we had a flight on my birthday, which is March 11, and we were on a flight from Mexico City to Santiago, Chile. KISS was in first class, and we were in business class. Halfway through the flight, all four of the original members of KISS came back to me and sang 'Happy Birthday' in four-part harmony. They gave me a 'Kisstory' book. I felt like a 14-year-old kid. I had tears coming out of my eyes." He added: "They took us under their wing, really liked us, and it was a great tour."

Florida death metal veterans DEICIDE will release their long-awaited new album, "Overtures Of Blasphemy", on September 14 via Century Media. The follow-up to 2013's "In The Minds Of Evil" was produced by Jason Suecof (THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, TRIVIUM) at AudioHammer Studios in Sanford, Florida. The cover artwork was created by Zbigniew M. Bielak (GHOST, PARADISE LOST, MAYHEM) and can be seen below.

DEICIDE frontman Glen Benton states: "This album came together over time, meaning we didn't want to rush it.

"A few people might remember an interview where Steve Asheim (original member, drummer/songwriter) said 'the material is done, but it's just not there yet.' Well, that was the jumping off point of when this album truly started taking shape and the songs became what they are now...complete, compact and effective. As the band pushed forward, so did the writing process and a few other processes which made the record and the band stronger. The result is 'Overtures Of Blasphemy', perhaps the group’s strongest release to date.

"Jason Suecof lended his considerable talents and attention to detail in making the tracking of the songs as great as they can be and the final mix as sonically brutal, yet as listenable as possible. An arduous process, but one well worth the time and effort."

Bielak states: "If you experienced the death metal boom of the early '90s first hand, you know why DEICIDE's flaming logo was the ultimate threat in the sanity department.

"Working with Glen Benton was a great honor and a throwback to the time when death metal aesthetics were at their vilest.

Buckcherry frontman Josh Todd was recently interviewed by Jessica Golich of Tattoo.com; an excerpt follows:

What do you think are the biggest differences between crowds overseas vs. crowds in The States?

"You know, it’s not a radio-driven market overseas. The best way that I can describe it is that people overseas are very passionate. They get into your entire career, not just your singles and the records that had hits on it. You’ll go overseas and people want to hear all of the obscure songs that we typically wouldn’t play in The States. It is really cool for us to be able to go so far from home and get a reaction from songs that we have created."

Is there a follow-up to your seventh studio album, Rock N’ Roll, in the works?

"Oh yeah! We finished all of the songwriting and we are going into the studio to record it in September. It will be out in the first quarter of 2019. Stevie (D, guitarist) and I wrote 30 songs for a ten-track record. We really put a lot of time and energy into this upcoming record and I am really proud of it so far."

Any closing messages for your fans?

"Look out for our first single dropping at the top of 2019. The new Buckcherry is going to be very special, it’s been three years since we’ve put out a new record and we are really looking forward to putting out new music."

The second trailer for "Forever Warriors, Forever United", the new album from German metal queen Doro Pesch, is available below. Due on August 17, it boasts 25 brand new Doro tracks. Speaking about the album, she says: "There are some big anthems on the album, countless heavy songs, as well as heart-warming melodies! The album is supposed to give you power and thus contains a lot of energy."

The first single from the epic collection of tracks is "All For Metal", which is available to stream and purchase digitally. The track is also available on limited-edition seven-inch silver vinyl and picture disc.

"All For Metal" features an assortment of metal heroes, who can also be seen in the new official music video: Mille Petrozza (KREATOR), Johan Hegg (AMON AMARTH), Chuck Billy (TESTAMENT), Warrel Dane (NEVERMORE, SANCTUARY), Jeff Waters (ANNIHILATOR), SABATON, Ross The Boss (MANOWAR), Rock 'N' Rolf (RUNNING WILD), DETRAKTOR, Tommy Bolan (ex-WARLOCK), Andy Brings and The Ultimate Doro Clan.

Doro explains: "I think the song 'All For Metal' is an anthem like 'All We Are' with some great guests singing, who are all friends of mine. It's an awesome live song and I hope you enjoy it because it's one of my favorite songs!"

"Forever United" takes a more sentimental turn, with lyrical topics covering friendship, love and companionship. Highlights include Doro's tribute to the late and great Lemmy.

"We've been touring a lot during the last years. We collected a lot of impressions and got to meet many amazing people. That inspired me enormously," explains Doro. "The songs and ideas simply bubble out of me. That process didn't even end while being in the studio. We had 50 song ideas in the beginning which turned into 14 concrete album tracks. Suddenly we had 20 songs, and, in the end, it was even 24. I also wanted to record 'Caruso' in the last recording week."

With "Forever Warriors, Forever United", Doro presents two new records, featuring 19 regular tracks and six bonus songs.

This unique songwriting marathon was based on "Living Life To The Fullest" back in January 2016. Says Doro: "I was flying to Lemmy's funeral when the track's melody and lyrics suddenly came to mind. Lemmy was always very important to me. Everything went quickly from this point. As soon as a song was constructed, I headed to the studio — between all those shows and tours — to capture the freshness and live energy of the new tracks."

The album cover artwork was once again created by Doro's favorite artist, Geoffrey Gillespie. It portrays Doro in the middle of a swarm of wild metal heads exuding attitude, power and positive vibes.

"The cover and the title form a perfect unit," Doro explains, "Just as it should be. It all fits perfectly in line with the songs, which also deal with some political themes."

The long-awaited follow-up to 2012's "Raise Your Fist" will be the German singer's first release since 2016's "Love's Gone To Hell" single.

Last year, Pesch celebrated the 30th anniversary of WARLOCK's "Triumph And Agony" album by performing the LP in its entirety at select shows around the globe.

Doro was joined on the "Triumph And Agony" 30th-anniversary tour by Bolan alongside bassist Nick Douglas, drummer Johnny Dee, guitarist Bas Maas and guitarist/keyboardist Luca Princiotta.

Roadrunner Records group COHEED AND CAMBRIA has released the P.R. Brown-directed music video for its new single, "Unheavenly Creatures", the title track from the band's widely anticipated new LP.

"The Unheavenly Creatures" is a sprawling 15-track, 78-minute epic which finds COHEED AND CAMBRIA returning to the conceptual narrative of "The Amory Wars".

Set for release on October 5, the box set includes an exclusive 80-plus-page hardcover illustrated sci-fi novel with strikingly realistic color imagery by Chase Stone, as well as the complete "Act 1" novella written by frontman Claudio Sanchez and his wife, Chondra Echert. The set also houses a fully wearable hard-plastic mask of the main character in "The Unheavenly Creatures", a CD copy of the album, as well as the exclusive bonus album, "The Crown Heights Demos", showing the songs in their original written form. Additional items include a three-panel fold out poster of expanded album cover art, and "The Unheavenly Creatures Black Card" which will allow all card holders early access to tickets and early entry to COHEED AND CAMBRIA headline dates.

COHEED AND CAMBRIA recently released "The Unheavenly Creatures"' 10-minute prog manifesto, "The Dark Sentencer", which was leaked to fans by frontman Claudio Sanchez along with the opening paragraphs from the album's aforementioned novella.

This July COHEED AND CAMBRIA will set out on a U.S. co-headline mostly outdoor tour with TAKING BACK SUNDAY and special guests THE STORY SO FAR. The 28-city U.S. tour, produced mostly by Live Nation, will begin on Friday, July 6 in Miami, Florida and make stops in Atlanta, Nashville, Boston, Philadelphia, Brooklyn, Chicago, Cleveland, Austin, Denver, Las Vegas and more. The summer tour will culminate in a performance at Comerica Theatre in Phoenix, Arizona on Sunday, August 12.

SINSAENUM, the extreme death metal project featuring DRAGONFORCE bassist Frédéric Leclercq and former SLIPKNOT drummer Joey Jordison, has released the official lyric video for a new song called "Sacred Martyr". The powerful, bone-shattering roars of Lauren Hart (ONCE HUMAN) merge perfectly with Sean Zatorsky's angry performance and the over the rooftop guitar solos, picking up the song's lyrics: "The thrill of the game is to drive you insane."

"Sacred Martyr" is the second track to be released from SINSAENUM's forthcoming album, "Repulsion For Humanity", out August 10 via earMUSIC.

Attila Csihar (MAYHEM) is absent from SINSAENUM's video for the song "Final Resolve". Due to scheduling conflicts, the distinctive black metal vocalist could not partake in the album recording process as much as he wanted to. "Attila is still a member of SINSAENUM," explains Leclercq. "He contributed to some backing vocals and lyrics but basically had to step out of this album/tour cycle. Nevertheless, he is still one of us. We have his full 'blessings' on the new recordings — we were in constant communication during the recording of 'Repulsion'... and Sean did an amazing job on vocals."

With the help of Francis Caste on mixing duties, SINSAENUM sharpened their own sonic identity, far from the typical death or modern metal sound.


The cover artwork, created by none other than Travis Smith, matches the radical, violent and angry approach of the album.


This autumn, SINSAENUM will be touring Europe for the first time since its formation. U.S. tour plans remain to be determined.


Last November, SINSAENUM released the EP "Ashes", with Metal Hammer Germany declaring it to be a "rad sign of life" and Metal Hammer U.K. taking it one step further, saying, "Take that form into the studio for the second full-length and we could have a classic on our hands."

With these impressive credentials, it is hard not to label SINSAENUM a supergroup, since it embodies the joint venture of Leclercq and Jordison. The rest of the band is of no less importance and credibility — Sean Zatorsky (DÅÅTH, vocals), Stephane Buriez (LOUDBLAST, guitar), Heimoth (SETH, bass) and Csihar (MAYHEM, vocals) – all of which are well respected in their fields – complete the ensemble, making SINSAENUM the epitome of premium-level heavy metal.

Internationally acclaimed guitar hero Michael Romeo will release his solo album, "War Of The Worlds / Pt. 1", on July 27 via Music Theories Recordings / Mascot Label Group.

The wildly ambitious 10-song disc sees the founder, chief songwriter and prime mover of the progressive titans SYMPHONY X furthering his reputation as one of the world's preeminent axe slingers and composers of adventurous, multi-faceted orchestral metal.

"It's me putting all the things I love about music in a blender," says Romeo. "Somebody might listen to it and say, ‘What is this guy thinking?' But it's all about being creative and having a good time with it."

No doubt there will rapturous responses from Romeo's longtime fans. While "War Of The Worlds / Pt. 1" brims with the kind of thrill-seeking guitar chops that have placed the Garden State shredder in numerous "all-time greats" lists, it also offers some unconventional twists: Along with classic metal textures, Romeo pays homage to film score giants Bernard Hermann and John Williams, and there's even some surprising EDM/dubstep elements guaranteed to turn heads — all of which makes for an enthralling and immersive journey.

Recalling the forbidding tone of the notorious H.G. Wells novel that inspired its name, Romeo casts the lead track, "Introduction", as a precursor for what is to follow. The dark, symphonic instrumental (equal parts Bernard Herman and Gustav Holst) gives way to the pummeling metal double-header of "Fear The Unknown" and "Black", on which Romeo's rifftastic twists and turns are ably assisted by Rick Castellano's soaring vocals.

A startling change-up occurs with "F*cking Robots", a striking mash-up of digital blurps, bleeps, DJ-like scratches and ace guitar madness. "My fans might think I've lost my mind on this one," the axeman jokes. But just as quickly, he floors the six-string goodness on "Djinn", an epic, theatrical rock roller coaster on which the rhythm section of John "JD" DeServio (bass) and John Macaluso (drums) provide a muscular backdrop for the guitarist's elastic soloing and Castellano's full-throated vocal chops.

The lush balladry of "Believe" is a big-hearted respite from the shards of molten metal, but Romeo whips out the doomsday riffage on "Differences" and "Oblivion", both chock full of widescreen hooks and synapse-altering solos.

Closing out the set is the cinematic musical odyssey "Constellations", which sees guitars and keyboards majestically taking flight into a kind of heretofore unseen otherworld. "That one probably took the longest to create of all the songs on the record," Romeo recalls. "It wasn't just the recording — it was the writing and scoring. I had to break out the pencil and paper on that one. But I couldn't be happier with the results. It really ends the album on a powerful note."

Romeo recorded the bulk of "War Of The Worlds / Pt. 1" over a year-and-a-half period in the comfort of his home studio (nicknamed "the Dungeon" by his wife) in Hazlet, New Jersey. The project gave him the perfect opportunity to work with the rising Long Island star Castellano, a singer he's had his eye on for some time, as well as fellow Jerseyans Macaluso and BLACK LABEL SOCIETY member DeServio. "JD and I went to high school together," Romeo notes. "We always wanted to do something together, so this was the perfect opportunity. The planets finally aligned, and we were able to work together. It was great to have him play on it."

SYMPHONY X fans have been waiting two decades for an honest to goodness Michael Romeo solo album (not counting his 1994 demo recording, "The Dark Chapter", which was released in several countries), and the arrival of "War Of The Worlds / Pt. 1" will be no doubt be cause for celebration. And the guitarist promises a sequel. "Most of Part II is already finished," he says, "It just needs a few vocals, a couple solos, a few tweaks here and there. I want people to absorb the first one for a while, and then we'll put out the second record. They'll complement each other, but they'll also be a bit different."

This free-to-view series is being released weekly on the World Of Warplanes official portal and YouTube channel across June, July and August, alongside an exclusive World Of Warplanes video tribute to the classic IRON MAIDEN song "Aces High".

As an avid enthusiast of military aviation, pilot, and supporter of World Of Warplanes' dedication to historical accuracy, Bruce has recorded "The Bruce Dickinson Warplanes Diaries" about the classic WW2 fighter and bomber aircraft such as the Spitfire, Hawker Hurricane and Messerschmitt Bf 109. As an extra treat for MAIDEN and Warplanes fans, World Of Warplanes have created, with many of the graphics from their in-game engine and some classic archive footage, a tribute video clip to the epic "Aces High" music video. Featuring many of the Battle Of Britain planes that Bruce profiles in the series, viewers can see the machines really brought to life.
