KORN's JONATHAN DAVIS Releases Music Video For 'Everyone' Song From 'Black Labyrinth' Solo AlbumKORN frontman Jonathan Davis has released the official music video for his song "Everyone". The clip was directed and edited by Stephen Steelman and was produced by Brigantine Films / Renaissance Man Productions.
"Everyone" is taken from Davis's highly anticipated debut solo album, "Black Labyrinth", which will be released on May 25 via Sumerian Records.
Diverse and progressive, "Black Labyrinth" represents a natural evolution for Jonathan, whose previous musical contributions have yielded two Grammy Award wins, eight Grammy Award nominations, worldwide sales of more than 40 million, and countless sold-out shows in nearly every corner of the globe. In addition to the album's well-received first single, "What It Is", which debuted as the No. 1 most added single on rock radio, the new album includes "Final Days", a melodic and atmospheric track, accentuated by subtle hints of sitar and tabla, the straightforward arena-rock anthem "Underneath My Skin", and 10 other tracks primarily recorded live to tape, a departure from KORN's heavily calculated, meticulous, studio approach to creation. Longtime fans of KORN will still find the familiarity of the band's unique and unforgettable vocals, synths and commanding guitars in key tracks like "What You Believe" and "Everyone".
Inspired in part by the Ganzfeld Experiment, and the out-of-body experiments and hallucinations that often accompany it, Davis focused on religion, consumerism and apathy throughout the album. "There's a level of enlightenment I want to achieve," he confesses regarding "Black Labyrinth". "With all of the bullshit going, everyone is stuck on their fucking cell phones. This takes us way out of that. No matter how hard you try to fight bad things in your life, life will be what it is. It's up to you to accept that, combat it, and move forward, or it's up to you to be in denial. Then it becomes a thorn in your side until you finally deal with it. This is it. Just deal with it."
"Black Labyrinth" track listing:
01. Underneath My Skin
02. Final Days
03. Everyone
04. Happiness
05. Your God
06. Walk On By
07. The Secret
08. Basic Needs
09. Medicate
10. Please Tell Me
11. What You Believe
12. Gender
13. What It Is
Listen to 30-second clips of the entire album below.
Asked in a recent interview about the sound of the project, Davis explained: "It's completely different. It's a different thing. It's something I've been working on for 10 years. It's just a crazy, different world music hybrid of all kinds of things, and there are all kinds of different players who play on the record. And I'm really proud of it."
Regarding why it took so long to complete the solo album, Davis said: "I did most of it back in… I started it in '07 and '08. I was signed to another record label, and, unfortunately, the people that signed me left. Some other people came in, they wanted to do it, and they ended up not doing it, so I got the record back. And then, [I went through] a few different managers and stuff, so it's just the same thing — they want the KORN machine moving. [Laughs] So finally I've got a break now, and I'm, like, ' I wanna do this now, guys. Let's do this.' So we're doing it."
Davis also talked about why he chose to make a solo record instead of using the material for KORN. "'Cause it's completely different — it's not for KORN," he said. "You've heard 'What It Is' — that's not a KORN song. So this is stuff that's completely different. There's stuff I've brought to KORN before, like from these sessions, the song 'Take Me', on our last record [2016's 'The Serenity Of Suffering'], was one of these songs, but we took it and the guys — [KORN guitarists] Head and Munky — got it, they tore it apart and made it their own. It's totally different. Sometimes it works. But the majority of the stuff wouldn't have worked for KORN."
The singer will kick off a solo North American tour on April 6 in Portland, Oregon, ending on May 18 in Boston. KORN drummer Ray Luzier will be part of the backing band.
"What It Is" is included on the soundtrack to a film called "American Satan", which came out on January 26.
Davis has recorded and toured on his own intermittently over the years. He has composed music for soundtracks, most notably "Queen Of The Damned", and has toured and DJed frequently over the years as his alter ego JDevil. 2

AURORA BOREALIS Announce Apokalupsis AlbumThe alliance of Beverina and Casus Belli Musica are presenting a brand new album from Aurora Borealis entitled Apokalupsis. CD release is due on May 15th while a vinyl edition will be out on June 15th.
The band’s vocalist, Ron Vento, says about the album: “Apokalupsis is a concept album in which we venture through the beginning of all creation until the inevitable apocalyptic war. Its primary focus brings to light alien existence and their purpose among humans. The album describes what they are, where they came from and how they manipulated mankind. It also elaborates on those victimized by abduction and why it occurs. Apokalupsis commences with God casting rebellious angels out of heaven. Unlike traditional stories, God sends them through space to stars created to keep them captive. One star for every fallen angel, countless stars for countless demons. At the heart of every star, there is a demon trying to break free and find its way to God’s greatest creation, mankind.
“In consequence, those that escape create massive solar flares and star quakes. By manipulating space time through wormholes, their search for human life begins. Some never escape and after billions of years collapse with the stars, forever forsaken in eternal solitude. Those who reach earth begin their deceit. Throughout history they have taken on many forms with the intent of building a foundation of deception; beginning with Eve and the serpent in the Garden of Eden. In modern time they disguise themselves as aliens, guiding the lives of great rulers (from pharaohs, to kings and presidents,) with the intent of destruction. In time they reveal what they are and inspire Armageddon. Apokalupsis, once withdrawn, now visible to all.”
The layout and design was created by Mike Hrubovcak well known for his works for Six Feet Under, Avulsed, Sinister, Grave and others.

Video Premiere: KAMELOT's 'Phantom Divine (Shadow Empire)'The official music video for "Phantom Divine (Shadow Empire)", a brand new song from KAMELOT, can be seen below. The track, which features a guest appearance by Lauren Hart (ONCE HUMAN), is taken from the band's upcoming album, "The Shadow Theory", due on April 6 via Napalm Records. The follow-up to 2015's "Haven" was helmed by acclaimed music producer Sascha Paeth and mastered by Jacob Hansen. Other guests on the album include Jennifer Haben (BEYOND THE BLACK) and Sascha Paeth. The cover and artwork was created by Stefan Heilemann.
KAMELOT guitarist Thomas Youngblood states about "Phantom Divine (Shadow Empire)": "In the future, our memories and thoughts will be extracted and transferred to synthetic A.I. Our carbon-based bodies will no longer be needed and eventually discarded. On 'Phantom Divine', we explore this vision of a world where we are replaced by A.I. Welcome to the Phantom Divine!"

06. The Proud And The Broken (Instrumental version)
07. The Last Day Of Sunlight (bonus)
Youngblood told Metal Wani about KAMELOT's musical progression leading up to "The Shadow Theory": "I think in the beginning we were a little bit more fantasy-based, but I found that to be at some point a little bit cheesy and also kind of limiting. So we didn't wanna paint ourselves into this medieval-band box or singing about dragons and stuff. So probably around the 'Karma' album, we started really digging into more deeper topics, getting a little bit more dark with Elizabeth Bathory and these kinds of things. And from that point, we've basically kind of introduced a little bit more symphonic, gothic elements into the band. And, yeah, it's basically been kind of an interest of mine anyway, so to be able to include that to the music was a good move."
KAMELOT recently parted ways with longtime drummer Casey Grillo and has replaced him with Johan "Jo" Nunez.
Following the release of "The Shadow Theory", KAMELOT will embark on a massive world tour, starting in North America during April/May 2018, followed by European shows in the summer. The band will return to Europe in September/October for its biggest headlining tour to date.

ZEAL & ARDOR To Release 'Stranger Fruit' Album In JuneCreative firebrand Manuel Gagneux returns with a brand new ZEAL & ARDOR single.
"Gravedigger's Chant" is set for release on Good Friday — March 30. It serves as an omen of what's to come from his forthcoming second ZEAL & ARDOR album, "Stranger Fruit".
With its haunting refrain of "bring the dead body down," the song "Gravedigger's Chant" (artwork pictured below) takes listeners on someone's final journey. Gagneux intones: "The gravedigger's chant is the song sung by the people who lay your body to rest. These people don't care where you were, but they know what you did and who loved you. All they know is what lies before them. So they sing this song, since you can no longer breathe a note."
"Our intent is both to familiarize as well as alienate," furthers Gagneux. "The video of 'Gravedigger's Chant' subverts roles: People find themselves in situations untypical for their ilk, tools become weapons, weapons turn into tools, and fingers meant for sensing make themselves felt."
Watch the video for the eerie and unsettling track below.
Mixing blues, gospel, and soul with harsher music has opened up a world of possibilities for Gagneux. Previously creating as a one-man solo effort, the immense interest and critical acclaim ZEAL & ARDOR attracted upon release of debut album, "Devil Is Fine", has led to the project becoming a fully fledged, internationally touring band.
After months hidden away, crafting the new songs for "Stranger Fruit", Gagneux entered the studio with producer Zebo Adam and mixer Kurt Ballou (CONVERGE, KVELERTAK, NAILS). While the finished sound is larger and heavier, it is still unmistakably ZEAL & ARDOR.
The diverse yet cohesive nature of the 16 tracks on "Stranger Fruit" (artwork pictured below) is designed to encourage the listener to dig a little deeper and find their own meaning in its words. In contrast to "Devil Is Fine", these songs are deliberately intended to play off each other both lyrically and musically.
While the record seethes with a justifiable rage, its wider-reaching aim is to unify, not divide, and to inspire action, not inertia. Elements of a bleak melancholy are tempered by hope. Superficially, the album tells small isolated stories, but there are also references to the Goetia, Yoruba, and obscure occult literature and history within.
"Stranger Fruit" will be available on June 8 in multiple formats, including CD, cassette, vinyl, and digital download/stream. Vinyl fans can choose between the 2LP 180-gram gatefold vinyl or the 2LP limited deluxe 180-gram triple gatefold purple vinyl. Pre-orders are available at all DSPs and local retailers.
"Stranger Fruit" track listing:
01. Intro
02. Gravedigger's Chant
03. Servants
04. Don't You Dare
05. Fire Of Motion
06. The Hermit
07. Row Row
08. Ship On Fire
09. Waste
10. You Ain't Coming Back
11. The Fool
12. We Can't Be Found
13. Stranger Fruit
14. Solve
15. Coagula
16. Built On Ashes
ZEAL & ARDOR will appear at multiple European music festivals through 2018, including Download, Graspop Metal Meeting and Hellfest.

Listen To New KOBRA AND THE LOTUS Song 'Let Me Love You'The song "Let Me Love You" from KOBRA AND THE LOTUS can be streamed below. The track is taken from the second part of the band's opus magnum, which will be released one year after the successful arrival of rock juggernaut "Prevail I".
Due on April 27 through Napalm Records, "Prevail II" is the proverbial yang to the yin and continues right where KOBRA AND THE LOTUS left off in 2017.
Says vocalist Kobra Paige: "Humanity. One of the greatest struggles of our human existence is to retain it.
"This sequel album takes a deeper dive into the darkness of our psyche and explores the personal torment and struggle we inflict upon ourselves, one another, and the earth.
"It has become commonplace for people to give up on themselves and lose their belief in their abilities and self-worth. This in turn affects our daily actions/behavior. We are a cripplingly, self-harming species but we are also profoundly capable beings of altruism, evolution, and positivity.
"This album will close the 'Prevail' double sequel on the lightest of all notes by acknowledging that every single person has a desire to be and deserves to be truly seen, loved, and heard. When the ignorance is cleared, we can recognize that we are all in this together."
"Prevail II" track listing:

HELLYEAH Teases New SongHELLYEAH has apparently resumed recording the follow-up to 2016's "Unden!able" album.
Earlier today, drummer Vinnie Paul Abbott posted a short video on Instagram of Tom Maxwell laying down a guitar track on one of the band's new songs.
Like the last two records, "Unden!able" and 2014's "Blood For Blood", the new disc is being recorded at The Hideout Recording Studio in Las Vegas, Nevada with producer Kevin Churko.
Vinnie Paul revealed in January that HELLYEAH was "close to about halfway" done recording its sixth LP, which he said was sounding "amazing." He added: "Every record since 'Blood For Blood' has just been a big, gigantic mountain for us to build and build and this one has already reached a plateau that I know is gonna be… It's gonna top 'Unden!able'."
According to Vinnie, HELLYEAH had to take a break from recording the new album because "a higher-paying customer" — presumably referring to DISTURBED — hired Kevin and The Hideout "and bumped us out for a month or two, so it kind of slowed us down a little."
Maxwell stated about the musical direction of HELLYEAH's new disc: "Every record that we've done, especially since 'Blood', we've kind of kept the tree growing, growing different branches here and there off the main root, and it's no different with this one. It's gonna be a little bit outside the box, there's gonna be some stuff that people haven't heard from us but will understand that we did it, because we're all over the board, as you know; we don't pigeonhole ourselves as just being full-blown heavy all the time. So it's gonna be a good record, when it comes out, eventually."
As for when fans can expect to see HELLYEAH back on the road, Vinnie said: "The deal is we keep having to turn [tours] down, because we can't get our studio scheduled to jive with what we wanna do. But I really believe by the end of this summer, we're gonna be back on the map, and definitely by fall — definitely by fall."
"Unden!able" marked the first time HELLYEAH's current lineup — Maxwell, Abbott, singer Chad Gray, guitarist Christian Brady and bassist Kyle Sanders — recorded together as a unit.
A "deluxe" edution of "Unden!able" was made last October via Eleven Seven Music as a CD/DVD Best Buy exclusive and CD and live audio digital deluxe. The physical package contains the fan-shot live concert DVD, "We're All In This Together". The digital package contains the live audio from the DVD.
"Unden!able" features three Top 10 U.S. Active Rock singles: "Human", "I Don't Care Anymore" and "Love Falls".

Video Premiere: AT THE GATES' 'A Stare Bound In Stone'The official video for "A Stare Bound In Stone", a new song from Swedish melodic death metal pioneers AT THE GATES, can be seen below. The clip was created by created by Costin Chioreanu of Twilight 13 Media.
"A Stare Bound In Stone" is taken from AT THE GATES' upcoming album, "To Drink From The Night Itself", which will be released on May 18 via Century Media. Produced with Russ Russell (NAPALM DEATH, THE HAUNTED, DIMMU BORGIR) at Parlour Studios in the U.K., the follow-up 2014's "At War With Reality" will feature conceptual artwork created by Chioreanu, who previously worked with AT THE GATES on the band's last disc.
AT THE GATES frontman Tomas Lindberg comments: "For the second single release of the album, we wanted this menacing stormer, fast, aggressive verses, heavy chorus and an evil mantra of an ending. This, for me, depicts the desperate, urgent mood of the record. I think it could be one of the most aggressive songs we have ever written.
"This album is so diverse and includes so much different elements that it is hard to boil down those essences to just one song. This song has a lot of them though; more to come soon.
"For the video shoot, we wanted to work with Costin on this one, as he is an essential part of this record. We felt that he knew exactly what kind of emotions we wanted to get across, and how to capture them artistically. I see this video as a brilliant complement to the song. Enjoy!"
"To Drink From The Night Itself" track listing:
01. Der Widerstand
02. To Drink From The Night Itself
03. A Stare Bound In Stone
04. Palace Of Lepers
05. Daggers Of Black Haze
06. The Chasm
07. In Nameless Sleep
08. The Colours Of The Beast
09. A Labyrinth Of Tombs
10. Seas Of Starvation
11. In Death They Shall Burn
12. The Mirror Black
Lindberg recently spoke to Decibel magazine about how the departure of longtime AT THE GATES guitarist and primary songwriter Anders Björler has affected the band's sound. "It is true that there is a big shift in the lineup," he said. "What you have to take into consideration is that Jonas Björler [bass] wrote 40 percent of both 'Slaughter Of The Soul' and 'At War With Reality'. Some people seem to forget this. They just assume that the lead guitarist is the sole songwriter. Jonas had to take a lot more responsibility this time around, but me and him have had a really great and creative time writing this album. There is a slight change of direction, maybe, but AT THE GATES fans shouldn't be worried — it is still an AT THE GATES record. If anything, it is heavier and more death metal than the last one."
Lindberg said that new AT THE GATES guitarist Jonas Stålhammar came into the band too late to be involved in the composing process for the new disc. "This one is basically Jonas [Björler] and me when it comes to the writing. All the guys have contributed in some way, but the main writing comes from Jonas and me. Most of the songs were already in the finishing stages when Jonas Stålhammar joined, so there wasn't much time for him to contribute, but we look forward to having him more involved next time around. Saying that, his solos will, of course, be written by himself."
AT THE GATES 2018 is (left to right in photo):

Jonas Björler - Bass

GUS G.: Lyric Video For New Song 'Mr. Manson'The official lyric video for "Mr. Manson", a brand new song from Greek guitar virtuoso Gus G., well known in rock and metal circles for his work as Ozzy Osbourne's guitarist and as leader of his own band FIREWIND, can be seen below. The track is taken from Gus's upcoming solo album, "Fearless", which will be released on April 20 via AFM Records. The follow-up to 2015's "Brand New Revolution" marks his first release since exiting Osbourne's band in 2017.
On "Fearless", Gus joins forces with vocalist/bassist Dennis Ward (PINK CREAM 69, UNISONIC) and drummer Will Hunt (EVANESCENCE).
"Dennis and I have collaborated very closely for a number years; he produced the current FIREWIND album, 'Immortals', among other things," Gus described his relationship with the multitalented German-American. "We're on the same musical wavelength and simply continued our cooperation after the FIREWIND production. I sent him demos of and ideas for my new songs and once we had enough material and started to think about vocalists, Dennis suggested recording the album as a trio.
"A lot of people don't realize that Dennis is not only a brilliant songwriter, bassist and producer, but also an excellent singer. I immediately liked his suggestion because this would be very different from everything else I've done before."
It was only a short step from the enlistment of drummer Will Hunt. Gus said: "Will was at the very top of my wish list. Fate smiled on me because we played at the Frankfurt music fair 2017 during my tour with Steve Stevens, and Will stayed at the same hotel. So I approached him, we talked for a while and he agreed. Last August he came to the studio and recorded the drum parts for the whole album within two and a half days. A real pro with a great groove and an awesome punch."
Which applies not only to Hunt and Ward, but of course also to Gus himself, who once again proves to be a phenomenal guitarist on "Fearless", presenting technical skills which exclude all possibility of doubt and a compositional talent that allows his fellow musicians to shine.
Hard-as-nails metal tracks such as the opener "Letting Go", "Mr. Manson", which is driven by a dark bass/guitar riff, and the subsequent melodic "Don't Tread On Me" immediately propel the new album into the desired direction. At the same time, the three instrumental songs give listeners an idea of the outstanding talent of the 37-year-old who is easily on a par with George Lynch ("Mr. Scary") and Michael Schenker ("Into The Arena").
"A lot of fans have asked me to record more instrumental tracks. Voilà, here they are," grins Gus. Last but not least, the successful cover versions of the DIRE STRAITS classic "Money For Nothing", which surprises with an unusual change of key after the noteworthy intro, deserves a mention.
"Fearless" track listing:
01. Letting Go
02. Mr. Manson
03. Don't Tread On Me
04. Fearless
05. Nothing To Say
06. Money For Nothing

Watch GOJIRA Perform At Melbourne, Australia's DOWNLOAD FestivalFan-filmed video footage of French progressive metallers GOJIRA performing the song "Silvera" on March 24 at the Download festival in Melbourne, Australia can be seen below.
In 2016, GOJIRA's "Magma" staked its claim among the best albums of the year, earning Metal Hammer's coveted "Album Of The Year" title while also landing on Rolling Stone's "Top 20 Metal Albums of 2016," Consequence Of Sound's "Top 50 Albums of 2016" / "Top 10 Metal Albums of 2016" lists, and Pop Matters's "Best Metal of 2016" recap. Additionally, "Stranded", the lead single off "Magma", was named one of Stereogum's "100 Favorite Songs Of 2016." "Magma" also earned GOJIRA their first-ever Grammy nominations for "Best Metal Performance" and "Best Rock Album." GOJIRA's crushing track "Silvera" received a nomination for "Best Metal Performance", while "Magma" was nominated for "Best Rock Album" at the awards.
"Magma" took the #1 spot on Billboard's Hard Rock Albums chart upon debut, making GOJIRA the first French band to hold the #1 spot on the chart in its nine-year existence. The release of "Magma" marked the highest chart debuts of GOJIRA's career, landing them at #4 on Billboard's Top Rock Albums chart, #6 on Billboard's Tastemaker Albums chart and Top 25 on the Billboard 200. Furthermore, GOJIRA earned career-high chart positions around the globe, including Top 10s in France, Canada, Switzerland, Austria, Finland and Norway, with Top 15 debuts in Australia and Germany.
Last summer, GOJIRA was the support act on a number of North American dates on METALLICA's "WorldWired" tour. 1

LIGHT THIS CITY Releases 'A Grotesque Reflection' Single From 'Terminal Bloom' AlbumReactivated Bay Area melodic death metal outfit LIGHT THIS CITY has unleashed the first single from its fifth LP, and first in a decade, "Terminal Bloom". As the album nears release through Creator-Destructor Records in May, "A Grotesque Reflection" has been made available alongside preorders for the record.
LIGHT THIS CITY returns with ten blazing tracks that capture the band's tendency towards extreme melody and intensity, honoring the Swedish sound of the '90s.
Having spent the past decade performing and touring in numerous other bands, the five members of LIGHT THIS CITY have only honed and shaped their skills and musicianship since their 2008 effort "Stormchaser".
"Terminal Bloom" was recorded from December 2017 through February 2018 with Zack Ohren (SUFFOCATION, CATTLE DECAPITATION, FALLUJAH) at Castle Ultimate Studios in Oakland, California, as with their previous four albums, and is wrapped in the vibrant cover artwork of Tony Midi.
Offers vocalist Laura Nichol with the release of the first single: "I've always had a fascination with Greek mythology, which a lot of my early LIGHT THIS CITY lyrics referenced, and I found myself revisiting similar themes while writing lyrics for 'A Grotesque Reflection'.
"Obviously, one of the big questions that myths (and religion) try to answer is: What happens when we die? Kharon is the name of the ferryman who carries you into the underworld after your death. The line 'we have always been his passengers' alludes to feeling like normal life and the 'life' of death in the underworld are actually the same thing. So when I die, and I'm about to approach this hellish place after my death — well, what makes that so different from the life I just came from? Your reflection in the waters of the underworld is really just a distorted visage of the same reflection you looked at every day in your normal life."
"Terminal Bloom" will be released on CD, LP, and digital formats on May 25 through drummer Ben Murray's Creator-Destructor Records. 2

ANTHRAX: First Trailer For 'Kings Among Scotland' DVDMulti-Grammy-nominated thrash icons ANTHRAX will see "Kings Among Scotland", the band's long-awaited live-in-concert DVD, arrive in stores and online on April 27 (Megaforce). Captured on February 15, 2017 at the band's sold-out concert at Glasgow's historic venue Barrowland Ballroom, the two-hour "Kings Among Scotland" incorporates the band's entire live show along with interviews, behind-the-scenes footage and other B-roll shot on the band's tour bus, backstage, in hotels and elsewhere. The DVD will also include a "gear rundown" from each of the band members. "Kings Among Scotland" can be pre-ordered at www.anthrax.com.
The first trailer for "Kings Among Scotland" is available below.
"Playing for our friends at the Barrowlands has always been very special," said ANTHRAX's Frank Bello. "We all know we're going to get together and have an insanely great time, and we think that incredible interaction and energy really comes through on this video."
With packaging art created by Steve Thompson (SLAYER, MOTÖRHEAD, IRON MAIDEN), the DVD's concert is presented in two parts. For part one, ANTHRAX perfomed the "favorites" that had been voted on pre-show by the band's fans and includes gems like "Madhouse", "Be All, End All", "Breathing Lightning" and "A.I.R." The band augmented the stage production for part two, with ramps and staircases and other production values while they tore into their classic 1987 album "Among The Living", performing "Caught In A Mosh", "I Am The Law", "Indians", "Eflinikufesin (N.F.L.)" and more.
"It was pretty a intense show," added guitarist Scott Ian, "especially when the crowd was so insane, the floor actually started moving up and down."
"It was a challenge for all of us to play 'Among The Living' live," admits Charlie Benante. "We've played a number of that album's songs in our shows over the years, but not all of them, and playing a song in a recording studio is not the same as playing it live on stage. So we put in a lot of time to get all of the tracks down perfectly. And I'll tell you, after we finished that set, as arduous as it was, we all felt a sense of exhiliration, like we could go out and do it again."
"Kings Among Scotland" was produced, directed, filmed and edited for Film24Productions by Paul M. Green (OPETH, THE DAMNED, THE LEVELLERS), with the sound mixed by ANTHRAX studio producer Jay Ruston. For the filming, Green utilized 17 cameras, including a crane and several mobile and stationery Go-Pros.
ANTHRAX will support SLAYER on the first two legs of the Tom Araya-fronted outfit's last-ever North American run of dates. Also scheduled appear on the bill are LAMB OF GOD, TESTAMENT and BEHEMOTH (with NAPALM DEATH replacing BEHEMOTH for the second leg).

Video Premiere: DIMMU BORGIR's 'Council Of Wolves And Snakes'"Council Of Wolves And Snakes", the new video from Norwegian symphonic black metallers DIMMU BORGIR, can be seen below. The song is taken from the band's new album, "Eonian", which will be released on May 4 via Nuclear Blast.
The songwriting core of DIMMU BORGIR furthermore consists of charismatic vocalist Shagrath, as well as the string wizards Silenoz and Galder, but other familiar faces also emerge from the darkness: drummer Daray and keyboardist Gerlioz are still part of the team, and Gaute Storaas helped with the choral arrangements for the majestic voices of the Schola Cantrum Choir.
Shagrath states: "It's a song that sticks out from the rest of the album, it's DIMMU BORGIR going into an experimental direction, but you can also find a lot of black metal inspiration in the middle section of the song. We are a band that has never been afraid of trying out new directions and artistically, this is surely a very interesting and different track."
The cover artwork was designed in fascinating detail by Zbigniew M. Bielak (GHOST, BEHEMOTH, MAYHEM).
"Eonian" contains 10 new tracks, produced by the band itself and engineered by Jens Bogren. Emerging from the dark minds of the three songwriters, "Eonian" follows a philosophical concept, dealing with the illusion of time:
"Time, when not approaching it from the construct we're used to can't be defined and thus it is illusory," explains guitarist Silenoz. "There's only an 'eternal now,' which the album title is already hinting at. When we travel between the worlds seen and unseen, the perception of time ceases to exist, it has no function. Our energy is our torch and our compass when we make rifts and pierce through the veil — when we go beyond."
Shagrath adds: "'Eonian' represents the illusion of time, everything that is and always has been. For us, it also marks the 25th anniversary of DIMMU BORGIR and the album itself is a tribute to our own history and the Norwegian black metal history."
Silenoz told Metal Shock Finland about DIMMU BORGIR's long-awaited follow-up to 2010's "Abrahadabra": "We feel that we're sitting on the best album that we could possibly do at this time, and personally, I think it's definitely our best album to date. Obviously, that's something that everybody says, but if I didn't believe that we would do our best album, there wouldn't really be any point doing a new one. So, yeah, I'm really excited about it, and I know that quite a few fans will probably be positively surprised. And, yeah, we can't wait to get this stuff off the ground and get going."
Silenoz told Rock 'N' Roll Journalist last summer that all the writing on the new DIMMU BORGIR album was done by the core trio of Silenoz, vocalist Shagrath and guitarist Galder. "We had a little bit of assistance from the keyboard player, but it was less on this album than it was on the previous one," Silenoz said. "That seems to be working best and it means there's less cooks in the kitchen. [Laughs]"
As for the musical direction of DIMMU BORGIR's new effort, Silenoz, said: "I think it's safe to say that [the parts that are] more epic and majestic are more epic and majestic, and the same goes for the brutal sound of DIMMU and also the primitive and more black metal sound of DIMMU is more black metal this time around. So you will have the more extremes of each part that we are known for."
"Eonian" track listing:
01. The Unveiling
02. Interdimensional Summit
03. Ætheric
04. Council Of Wolves And Snakes
05. The Empyrean Phoenix
06. Lightbringer
07. I Am Sovereign
08. Archaic Correspondence
09. Alpha Aeon Omega
10. Rite Of Passage
DIMMU BORGIR's latest release was the "Forces Of The Northern Night" DVD, which was made available in April 2017 via Nuclear Blast. The set contains two of the band's live performances: their legendary show in Oslo, presenting DIMMU BORGIR on stage with the Norwegian Radio Orchestra and a bombastic choir, as well as their entire performance at Wacken Open Air festival in 2012 in Wacken, Germany with almost a hundred musicians on stage. 42

PAPA ROACH Enlists Luxembourg Ballet Troupe For 'None Of The Above' Music VideoPAPA ROACH has released a surprise music video for "None Of The Above", a song from the band's latest album, "Crooked Teeth". The clip, which was shot on location at Beaufort Castle in Luxembourg while the band was on tour in Europe, features the DanceXperience ballet troupe. It was directed by Bryson Roatch and choreographed by esteemed urban dance choreographer Alex Lopes.
"We actually wrote 'None Of The Above' near the end of recording 'Crooked Teeth'," says bassist Tobin Esperance. "We were going for a classic rock-sounding anthem, juxtaposed with current, contemporary, sounds and taking a rock anthem to a younger generation. Bryson had this great idea of going to a castle while we were on our European tour and then he made us even more excited by telling us that he could get this song choreographed and he delivered on all counts."
"We wanted to create something you would not normally see from a rock band," says Roatch. "It was amazing and such an honor to work with other artists from a different culture and see their passion."
Over the last 16 months, PAPA ROACH has taken the "Crooked Teeth" experience global — touring extensively throughout Europe, Australia, North America and South America. The band just wrapped up a successful run with A DAY TO REMEMBER on the "15 Years In The Making Tour" where they played to 100,000 fans over the course of 18 shows. PAPA ROACH is ready to bring even more of their headlining might to intimate venues in North America in April and May, featuring support from NOTHING MORE and ESCAPE THE FATE.
"Crooked Teeth" was released in May 2017 via Eleven Seven Music. The disc was written and recorded in a cramped North Hollywood studio with producers Nicholas "RAS" Furlong and Colin Brittain, with the exception of "Born For Greatness", which saw the band collaborate with writer/producer Jason Evigan (Jason Derulo, Demi Lovato, Zedd, MAROON 5). 3

KATAKLYSM: Lyric Video For New Song 'Guillotine' From 'Meditations' AlbumThe official lyric video for "Guillotine", a brand new song from Montréal, Quebec, Canada-based melodic death metallers KATAKLYSM, can be seen below. The track is taken from the band's upcoming album, "Meditations", which will be released on June 1 via Nuclear Blast. The 10-song disc was produced by the band's guitarist Jean-François Dagenais and drummer Oli Beaudoin, and was mixed by Jay Ruston (ANTHRAX, STONE SOUR). Mastering duties were handled by Paul Logus (PANTERA).
Commented singer Maurizio Iacono: "'Guillotine' is a powerful track that holds some of KATAKLYSM's most important traits: fierce and fast riffing, melodic accents and groove-laden power punches to the gut. We are focused, determined and dedicated."
The "Meditations" cover artwork was created for Ocvlta Designs by Surtsey, who also crafted the artwork for KATAKLYSM's previous record, "Of Ghosts And Gods".
Iacono said: "This is a very personal album to me with old wounds being revisited — I felt a big urge to pour my soul into this release. The boys and I were isolated under the same roof during the writing process, just like we did in the early days... with no worries except having fun, being honest and delivering a serious album that represents us today but respects our past. Our new story is coming and we are eager to share it with you!"
"Meditations" track listing:
01. Guillotine
02. Outsider
03. The Last Breath I'll Take Is Yours
04. Narcissist
05. Born To Kill And Destined To Die
06. In Limbic Resonance
07. And Then I Saw Blood
08. What Doesn't Break Doesn't Heal
09. Bend The Arc, Cut The Cord
10. Achilles Heel
Dagenais told That Drummer Guy about KATAKLYSM's decision to work with Ruston: "It was kind of a gamble for us because you never know because our music is so extreme and needs a certain type of process to it, to be able to be delivered right and we weren't sure if going with a guy like Jay Ruston, who is more of a traditional heavy metal/rock producer, that it could work. We all knew that, 'Okay, if this works, it's going to be really awesome. If it doesn't, it could be such a mistake.' No, it wasn't. We got our mixes and we were, like, 'Fuck yeah!' All of us together. We made the right call there and it was perfect. But, we worked really hard on the tracking, me and Oli. We spent months on recording the drums and guitars and the bass tracks and making sure Maurizio delivers the right energy with the vocals. We really polished the thing and we sent it to Jay Ruston and he totally brought it up to another level. So, that's really exciting." 5

LINKIN PARK's MIKE SHINODA Releases Two New Songs Ahead Of 'Post Traumatic' LPLINKIN PARK vocalist Mike Shinoda has released music videos for two new songs, "Crossing A Line" and "Nothing Makes Sense Anymore". Both tracks will appear on his forthcoming debut solo album, "Post Traumatic", which is due on June 15.
"It's a journey out of grief and darkness, not into grief and darkness," Shinoda said of "Post Traumatic" in a statement. "If people have been through something similar, I hope they feel less alone. If they haven't been through this, I hope they feel grateful."
Shinoda will make his first solo appearance since the death of LINKIN PARK bandmate Chester Bennington at the Identity LA festival this spring. The free event, which celebrates Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, will take place at Grand Park in downtown Los Angeles on May 12. Other artists who have yet to be announced will also perform in addition to Shinoda, who announced his participation in the event via Twitter.
The singer/producer released three new solo tracks as a digital EP in late January. Also titled "Post Traumatic", the set directly addressed the death of Bennington and Shinoda's own anxiety over what would come next.
He told Alternative Press about the experience of recording again: "A week after Chester passed, the idea of the studio was scary. And it wasn't just the idea of attempting to make a song and being overwhelmed by those memories. There's another layer of fear for artists in this situation that is, 'What if I can't make anything good without that person?'"
LINKIN PARK has not officially announced whether the group intends to continuing recording and touring together, following Bennington's suicide last July. 2

VIO-LENCE Singer SEAN KILLIAN Undergoes Successful Liver TransplantVIO-LENCE singer Sean Killian underwent a successful liver transplant earlier this week. The thrash metal vocalist went into surgery Monday at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), after his brother-in-law Kevin Rivero served as a liver donor. Both are recovering at UCSF in the ICU.
Sean's wife, Dana Rivero Killian, wrote in a social media post: "Sean would like you all to know he is eternally grateful for all the love and support these past couple of years and fully intends to return to the stage once he is healed and ready to bring it! (No. NOT a VIO-ENCE reunion, so don't ask.)
"I think we could all use a celebratory concert! We all have a great deal to be thankful for.
"There are simply too many people to mention by name. You know who you are."
Last year, Killian was diagnosed with stage four liver cirrhosis, which was caused in part by a genetic condition called hemochromatosis.
The final stage of cirrhosis of liver is considered as the most dreaded phase of the condition. If the patient is diagnosed during this stage, the life expectancy of the sufferer — without a liver transplant — is said to be one year to three years.
This past January, TESTAMENT, EXODUS, FORBIDDEN and VIO-LENCE members performed at a benefit concert for Killian at The Midway in San Francisco, California.
"Killian On Command: An Evening Of Vio-Lence" saw the musicians play only VIO-LENCE material spanning the band's entire catalog of songs written from 1985 through 1992. They were joined by other heavy hitters from DEATH ANGEL, KAOS, ILL NINO, FANG, ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENT, VALOR & VENGEANCE, I AM MORBID, PSYCHOSOMATIC, D.R.I., ANNIHILATION, MERCENARY and SACRILEGE B.C.
"Killian On Command: An Evening Of Vio-Lence" concluded with a performance of the VIO-LENCE classic "World In A World" featuring four-fifths of the band's classic lineup — Robb Flynn (guitar), Phil Demmel (guitar), Perry Strickland (drums) and Dean Dell (bass), with Flynn handling lead vocals. (Killian could not perform with the other members due to his health condition). Demmel and Flynn are both now in MACHINE HEAD.
Megaforce Records reissued VIO-LENCE's classic debut album, "Eternal Nightmare", with a live bonus CD in June 2005. The bonus disc was recorded on December 14, 2001 at Slim's in San Francisco. 7

LAGO – Sea Of Duress Album Details RevealedPhoenix, AZ death metal group Lago have released details for their upcoming Unique Leader debut Sea of Duress which will see a June 8th street date through the label. The album shows the band continuing to refine their blackened, atmospheric brand of old school inspired death metal brilliance and makes clear why the band has been widely praised since their inception and have prompted the likes of Trevor Strnad of The Black Dahlia Murder to say via Metal Injection, “Like innovators Morbid Angel, Lago do their evil thing with a lot of confidence and otherworldly style. It’s creative, organic, and atmospheric death metal wizardry that oozes with real feelings of arcane magic."
The eight track effort was recorded by Ryan Butler at Arcane Digital Recording in Chandler, AZ, mixed and mastered by Ken Sorceron (Abigail Williams), and features artwork by Nate Burns.
Vocalist and guitarist Cole Jacobsen said of the album, "Sea Of Duress is the next step for Lago in terms of how we're writing. Though the Tampa Bay death metal influences can still be heard, we have definitely stepped outside of our box so to speak. We love and appreciate the pioneer death metal acts, however, we have never approached our lyrics the way a lot of the others have. We tend to write about depression, isolation, and the fear of, and necessity of coping with tyranny. We currently live in a country entrenched in turmoil. I think a lot of that can be felt in this album. We're thrilled to be releasing this album on Unique Leader Records, and cannot wait for a broader audience to hear what we've created."
Tracklisting:
“Day Of Wrath”
“A Broken Barrier”
“Sepulcher”
“Dead Sun”
“Soiled Is The Crown”
“Haze”
“Effigy”
“Providence”
Preorders and new music coming from Lago in the coming weeks.

INFECTUS 13 Featuring Former OVERKILL Drummer SID FALCK Release "Break Your Bones" Single; Video StreamingInfectus 13 has released their first original song since the 2014 single "Enemy At The Gate". The new song, "Break Your Bones", was originally recorded in 2014, where it was put into the pile of original songs being written for the, then, upcoming album Last Rites.
As it is now well known, Sid Falck has faced several health related set-backs over the last 4 years, which caused the planned album to continuously get pushed further and further out into the future. However, as of this release, Infectus 13 has begun looking for locations they can convert into a recording studio, where they will then set up shop, and begin writing all new material, intended to reflect the band as it is, in 2018.
While that takes place, Infectus 13 has decided to re-record the guitars, bass and vocals, on three of the old songs, originally recorded between 2014 - 2016. The band plan to release them as a series of “singles” over the coming months, with no specific release dates yet. The first of these songs is “Break Your Bones” which was released today, Wednesday, March 28th.
The first 200 downloads will be free/name your price. After the 200th download, the song will cost $0.50. The song is available as a download only, and it can be found here.
An accompanying video was created by J. Plaster and GraveTerror Designs, and can be viewed below:

Harnell previously quit TNT in January 2015 after a 15-month stint with the band.
British singer Tony Mills appeared on three studio albums from TNT: 2007's "The New Territory", 2008's"Atlantis" and 2010's "A Farewell To Arms".

The clip was filmed by Stein Erik Aulie of Cicknave Media.
Named after a county in Western Norway, "Rogaland" sees the band taking a different turn from its self-titled predecessor and critically acclaimed 2008 demo combined, following a more complex and technical trajectory. The band has taken the utmost care in every detail to channel and bring forth the forces of their album's namesake, with vocals recorded and lyrics written on site in the woods, in the mountains and on the Northern shores. Nature-inspired and folk-tinged, it's the kind of album that rewards each new listen, and progressively reveals its secrets.
"This album has been a long time coming," founder and mastermind Fredrik G. Fugelli explains. "The process has been tedious and time-consuming, but in the end it has definitely been worth it. Everything clicked and fell into place; from vision to finished product, each and everyone involved has delivered their best. I feel confident that we've managed to define and refine the material in such a way that we ended up capturing the essence of what the album tries to convey: the timeless battle and coexistence between man and nature; the old magic and the bond that is lost in a modern and controlled world, void of spirituality. 'Rogaland' is a strong affirmation of roots, and a damn well executed one at that."
Drummer Dirge Rep adds: "It's the most technical and demanding album of my somewhat 25 years under black metal. I am extremely grateful for the honor of performing under THE KONSORTIUM and dedicated myself in entirety to the excellence of the work, its will and its energy."
Not only does THE KONSORTIUM return with new music, but they return in style too. Unmasked, the Norwegians finally shed light on their identity — we have the aforementioned F.G. Gugelli (vocals, guitars), famed black metal veterans Teloch (bass) and Dirge Rep (drums), followed by the talented T. Jacobsen and B. Waldejer (both on guitars). Together, they journey through the wild and untamed, the harsh darkness and the bewitching cold that is "Rogaland".
"Rogaland" was mixed and mastered by Gomez at Orgone Studios (PARADISE LOST, ULVER, GRAVE PLEASURES, PRIMORDIAL) and produced by F.G. Fugelli. The cover artwork and layout were designed by Trine+Kim (ULVER, DARKTHRONE, VIRUS). Cpt. Estrella Grasa (NIDINGR) guest appears on vocals on tracks "Skogen" and "Arv".
