Italian deathsters Grind Zero have unveiled the album cover for Concealed In The Shadow, the new full-length album that will be released later this spring via Punishment 18 Records.

The effort was mastered by Dan Swanö (Opeth, Bloodbath, Katatonia, Edge Of Sanity) that, about the band, also said: "...awesome death/grind that brings me back to the '80s/'90s!"

Guitarist/vocalist Viktor Carlsson stated: "For me, 'Valkyria' is a song directly taken from the action of the battlefield. The pulse in the music is what inspired the lyrics to be formed as a very aggressive and straight forward way of saying 'This is our final resolution.' I personally connect with 'Valkyria' as I visually can see the battlefield in front of me as I'm listening to the song."

After two critically acclaimed albums, the self-titled debut and sophomore album II, it was time for Lords Of Black to craft their all important third album. With the anticipation created by the album’s predecessors and vocalist Ronnie Romero’s selection as the singer for Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow reunion, expectations are high and the pressure is on for the band to deliver. Have they?

Icons Of The New Days is more than enough proof that yes, the band has indeed delivered in spades. Lords Of Black has crafted a collection of amazing songs that draw from the influences of traditional heavy metal with elements of progressive metal thrown in the mix with robust production showcasing all the member’s talents. Guitarist Tony Hernando, drummer Andy C., bassist Dani Criado and vocalist Ronnie Romero are indeed a rising force to be reckoned with in the modern metal scene.

Tracks like the incredible album opener, “World Gone Mad” along with “Not In A Place Like This” and the title track set the bar high for an album that is going to be a contender for metal album of the year. “Forevermore” and “The Way I’ll Remember” are simply stunning and powerful metal tunes such as “When A Hero Takes A Fall” and “Wait No Prayers For The Dying” will cause you to thrust your fist to the sky. As has become the band’s tradition, epic songs like “King’s Reborn” and “All I Have Left”, the longest song ever written by Lords Of Black, anchor the proceedings.

Once again produced by Tony Hernando and Roland Grapow (who also handled mixing and mastering duties), the production and quality of the song arrangements are another decisive factor in the greatness on display here.

The official lyric video for "Crash And Burn", a brand new song from WITHIN TEMPTATION frontwoman Sharon Den Adel's solo project, called MY INDIGO, can be seen below. The track is taken from MY INDIGO's self-titled debut album, which will be released on April 20.

The singer announced the new project's existence via a video message on Facebook in which she described the MY INDIGO material as "very personal" and revealed that composing the songs was a therapeutic experience that helped he deal with an undisclosed family "crisis."

She said in a statement: "For many years, we've been touring and every time we came home, I used to start writing songs almost immediately and was happy to do so. After the last tour, I tried to do the same, but it wasn't the same. Eventually I found myself in a crisis which was bigger than just not being able to write songs. The years of touring and working under a certain pressure took its toll and besides that there were things in my personal life I had to deal with.

"I really took time off, but when I started writing again, it was something totally different than WT, but this was what I needed and I embraced it. One song led to another and it turned into a whole album. I gave it a name and it's called MY INDIGO. MY INDIGO is about my journey these last few years and I would like to share it with you.

"MY INDIGO is not at all like WITHIN TEMPTATION and it wasn't meant to be that at all. I wrote it first of all for myself, but nevertheless I hope you'll enjoy it as well!"

"Nothing Remains", the new video from MEMORIAM, the Birmingham, United Kingdom-based death/grind metal band featuring Karl Willets (BOLT THROWER) on vocals, Frank Healy (BENEDICTION, CEREBRAL FIX) on bass, Scott Fairfax (CEREBRAL FIX) on guitar and Andy Whale (BOLT THROWER) on drums, can be seen below. The song is taken from the group's second album, "The Silent Vigil", which will be released on March 23 via Nuclear Blast. The disc's impressive artwork was once again created again by Dan Seagrave (BENEDICTION, DISMEMBER, HYPOCRISY, SUFFOCATION).

MEMORIAM states: "'Nothing Remains' is about dementia, and in particular about Karl's mother's struggle with this condition. The video is showing the experience of loss and dissolution brought about by the disease in the burning of old family portraits of Karl's mother and family, parents of MEMORIAM members and of friends as well as random strangers. Similar to us all being of the same blood as expressed in the previously released 'Bleed The Same', we also all die and decay the same."

MEMORIAM previously stated about "The Silent Vigil" cover artwork: "Following the success of working with Dan Seagrave for our debut album 'For The Fallen', we decided that we had to get Dan involved for the next album cover.

"Initially, we used Dan as we were all very impressed with the art that he has created for bands over the decades, and Scott in particular wanted to have an album cover designed by Dan Seagrave as part of the things he wanted to achieve with MEMORIAM.

"Dan really encapsulates the old-school death metal feel to the album covers that he creates; they are full of detail and very atmospheric. We gave him a brief for the 'For The Fallen' debut cover and he did a great job.

"We briefed Dan and asked him to create an image which followed on from the first album. The first album features a funeral procession, the coffin of the fallen leader paraded across an ethereal battle-scarred landscape. 'The Silent Vigil' represents the next phase of the journey, where the coffin is lying in state with the followers standing in silence almost like terracotta soldiers. The cover has an overall solemn feel to it, with the ravaged landscape in the background and burnt out wrecks of military hardware in the foreground. The tree in the centre of the album cover is symbolic of life — that continues on.

"We are really pleased with what Dan Seagrave has created for us once again and we are proud to have his artwork on our album cover.

"We already have an idea for the next album cover and we hope that Dan will be able to do this for us too."

MEMORIAM was primarily developed to fill the void that was left following the tragic death of Martin "Kiddie" Kearns, the drummer from BOLT THROWER, back in September 2015. BOLT THROWER subsequently placed all activity on hold for the foreseeable future which gave Karl Willetts an opportunity to develop a new project with friends that had expressed interest in forming a band for some time.

MEMORIAM is an old-school death metal band, maintaining the standards set by their previous bands, focusing on the themes of death, loss and war. Initially, the bandmembers got together to play covers of songs that had influenced them throughout their careers within the death metal scene. However, it soon became apparent that the new songs that they created were of a superior standard.

The track is taken from the band's latest album, "Firepower", which is being released today (Friday, March 9) via Epic. Asked by the WSOU 89.5 FM radio station if "Firepower" is a "heavier" record than 2014's "Redeemer Of Souls", JUDAS PRIEST guitarist Richie Faulkner said: "I think 'heavy' means so many different things — it could be heavy in terms of sound, it could be heavy in terms of speed, it could be heavy in terms of lyrical content. So it's hard to know what someone's interpretation of 'heavy' means. But I think it's a more energetic record — I think there's more fire in it — which is one of the reasons why 'Firepower' was a relevant title to call the record. It's got that kind of intensity. I don't think 'Redeemer' was lacking in that respect, but this one's definitely got more of it. It's got fast stuff, it's got groovier stuff."

JUDAS PRIEST guitarist Glenn Tipton announced last month that he will be sitting out the band's touring activities as a result of his battle with Parkinson's disease, with which he was diagnosed a decade ago.

Tipton, who is now 70 and has performed on every PRIEST album since the band's 1974's debut set, "Rocka Rolla", is not quitting the band, but simply cannot handle the rigorous challenges of performing live. Joining PRIEST for its upcoming dates will be Sneap, a former member of SABBAT who has most recently played with HELL.

The North American leg of the "Firepower" tour will kick off on March 13 in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania and will wrap on May 1 in San Antonio, Texas. Support on the trek will come from SAXON and BLACK STAR RIDERS.

A PERFECT CIRCLE's Alex Howard-directed video for the song "Disillusioned" can be seen below. The track is taken from the band's fourth album, "Eat The Elephant", which will be released on April 20 via BMG. The disc arrives following years of anticipation and speculation, which reached a fever pitch as the outfit helmed by Maynard James Keenan and Billy Howerdel launched their fall 2017 tour with the release of "The Doomed". The band then ushered in the new year with the debut of "Disillusioned".

"Although I'm extremely excited to finally be completing this album after a 14-year hiatus, I'm actually more excited that its intentional release date is serving a greater purpose," explains Keenan. "The 20th of April is Carina Round's birthday. She is a dear friend who is extremely difficult to shop for. Pressure off. Of course, I must also note that the potheads are gonna be thrilled that this album comes out on 4-20. May it serve as a glorious soundtrack to accompany all of the giggling and vexing sounds of nibbling and snacking. Fingers crossed, Cheech & Chong will be proud."

"Demos are these precious ideas that you love in their initial state," adds Howerdel. "Then you collaborate, invite other ideas, and watch them progress. That's the dynamics and growth of a great record. I feel we've made a great record."

The band's lineup remains unchanged from 2013. Joining Keenan and Howerdel once again are James Iha on rhythm guitar, Matt McJunkins on bass and Jeff Friedl on drums.

Howerdel told Razor 94.7 about A PERFECT CIRCLE's songwriting process: "Typically, I'll start an idea at home, kind of in isolation, and just kind of work on it until I don't hate it anymore. And then send it over to Maynard, see if he finds anything compelling about it. He'll kind of say 'yay' or 'nay' and find something he latches on to. And he'll throw down a scat vocal — syllables and a vocal melody idea, and it helps me move the song forward from there. And then if it's enough, then he starts working on lyrics, so he does all the lyrics and melodies and orchestrates the backups and all that. And then I concentrate on making the music. So that's kind of the back-and-forth conversation that we have musically."

Howerdel, who helmed all of A PERFECT CIRCLE's previous albums, explained his decision to enlist an outside producer for the new disc. "I wanted to bring a producer on in this record, just to take the musician's role more than the engineer-slash-producer-slash, you know, looking at budgets and the whole thing," he said. "And it let me, I think, hone in and see a twenty-thousand-foot view of these songs in a way that I've not been able to do in the past."

Howerdel is excited for fans to hear A PERFECT CIRCLE's next album, telling Razor 94.7: "I've said this before, so I'm being a little redundant: I can talk you out of anything, really, and I can talk you out of listening to our music or anything I've ever done, but I would say this record is some of the best songs we've ever done, and certainly some of the favorite things I've ever heard Maynard sing."

"Millions", the new video from progressive metallers BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME, can be seen below. The track is taken from the band's new effort, the conceptual epic two-part album "Automata", part one of which is being released today (Friday, March 9) through the group's new label, Sumerian Records.

BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME lead vocalist and keyboardist Tommy Giles Rogers, Jr. states: "Every single week, music comes and goes. We can get music instantly, and with this luxury, the listener has a hard time sitting down with albums and exploring their every twist and turn. Because of this, we have decided to release our new album in two parts.

What if dreams could be broadcast for the purpose of entertainment? Could you consume the innermost thoughts of another person on screen? If you could, what does that say about an attention-starved audience? More importantly, what would become of the dreamer?

BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME poses those questions and more on its two-part eighth full-length and introductory offering for Sumerian Records, "Automata". The North Carolina quintet — Tommy Giles Rogers, Jr. (lead vocals, keyboards), Paul Waggoner (lead and rhythm guitar, backing and lead vocals), Dustie Waring (rhythm and lead guitar), Blake Richardson (drums) and Dan Briggs (bass, keyboards) — explores these themes by personally smashing boundaries once again. "Automata" marks the band's first proper double LP-spanning concept. Moreover, they continue to expand their ever-evolving style, upholding a tradition of progression in the process.

"We never want to repeat ourselves," affirms Paul. "We're always trying to do something different, and this album fell right into that sort of pattern. We push ourselves into new places, while retaining our basic sound. Musically, we go somewhere that's fun and challenging. We never know how it's going to turn out. These are uncharted waters for us. We've never written an entire piece and presented it in separate parts like this."

"All of our music should build up to the newest record," Tommy leaves off. "That's what happens with 'Automata'. You can take little snippets from our past throughout this album. It sounds like BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME, but it's still new. We hope to keep the music industry on its toes. This is part of doing that."

BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME kicked off a North American headlining tour on March 2, with support from THE DEAR HUNTER and LEPROUS.

On February 25, SOULFLY played at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe in Stateline, Nevada as part of the band's "Point Blank With Soulfly" tour, during which SOULFLY is performing NAILBOMB's lone studio album, 1994's "Point Blank", in in its entirety. "Point Blank" has been described as "a sonic love child" of SOULFLY frontman Max Cavalera and FUDGE TUNNEL's Alex Newport.

When "Point Blank" was released, NAILBOMB only played one show at the 1995 Dynamo Open Air festival in the Netherlands, a recording of which was released as "Proud To Commit Commercial Suicide" that same year.

In an interview with The Bulletin, Cavalera called "Point Blank" a "cult record" and "a very special record." He said: "A lot of fans really like it and always wanted me to do another NAILBOMB album and all that. Unfortunately, that's not gonna happen, but we do get to play this live. I think we get a lot of fans that like — they're pretty much SOULFLY fans, CAVALERA [CONSPIRACY] fans and fans of my stuff in general. But yeah, sometimes, you get somebody that didn't know about NAILBOMB, and discover it and love it and really, really thought it was cool. Because it is kind of a strange record — it was me and Alex's take on industrial metal."

SOULFLY recently put the finishing touches on its new album for a tentative summer release via Nuclear Blast. The follow-up to 2015's "Archangel" was recorded with producer Josh Wilbur, who has previously worked with LAMB OF GOD, GOJIRA and ALL THAT REMAINS, among others.

The first new RAINBOW single since 1996, "Waiting For A Sign", can be streamed below. The song was penned by Ritchie Blackmore, with lyrics by his wife Candice Night and vocals from RAINBOW's current singer, Ronnie Romero, who is originally from Chile but is now settled in Madrid.

The latest incarnation of RAINBOW released two new studio recordings last year, but they weren't original compositions; one was an instrumental song called "Land Of Hope And Glory", which was a reworking of the 1902 British patriotic song of the same name from Edward Elgar's "Pomp And Circumstance March No. 1", while the other was a re-recording of the RAINBOW classic "I Surrender", which was written by Russ Ballard and was first released by RAINBOW in 1981.

"Waiting For A Sign" will be included on "Memories in Rock II", which is due on April 6 via Minstrel Hall/Soulfood. The set will also contain a double CD of the June 2017 U.K. RAINBOW concerts, a DVD containing over 80 minutes of interview footage with the band and crew, an additional backstage clip and a video for the 2017 studio version of "I Surrender".

In 2017, legendary guitarist Ritchie Blackmore brought his new RAINBOW lineup to the U.K. for three unique concerts; these memorable musical moments will be released in high-quality format on a double-disc CD set. Also included in this amazing package will be the backstage videos. Special interviews exclusive to this video set include those with Blackmore, Ronnie Romero, Jens Johansson, Bob Nouveau, Drummer Dave, the lovely backing singers Lady Lynn and Candice Night — as well as the phenomenal crew that brings these shows to the fans; production managers, lighting director, guitar technician, etc.

The setlist, combining classic tracks from both DEEP PURPLE and RAINBOW, was exactly what the fans have requested most and will be found in this double-CD package. Blackmore stepped away from his Renaissance-inspired brand of music with BLACKMORE'S NIGHT in 2016 to perform a handful of shows with a brand-new lineup of the band he had formed after quitting DEEP PURPLE.

Although Ritchie initially said that he had no plans to make a new RAINBOW album — explaining in early 2016 that he wanted to "just get back to playing the old songs one more time" — he revealed to Japan's Burrn! magazine that he changed his mind.

In addition to Blackmore and Romero, the current incarnation of RAINBOW includes STRATOVARIUS keyboardist Jens Johansson, BLACKMORE'S NIGHT drummer David Keith, bassist Bob Nouveau (a.k.a. Robert "Bob" Curiano, ex-BLACKMORE'S NIGHT), and backing singers Candice Night and Lady Lynn.

The two shows RAINBOW played in Germany in June 2016 were caught on camera to produce "Memories In Rock - Live In Germany", which was released in November 2016 via Eagle Rock Entertainment on DVD+2CD, Blu-ray+2CD, and digital formats.

After Ritchie left DEEP PURPLE for the final time in 1993, he reformed RAINBOW for one album (1995's "Stranger In Us All") and one tour, ending things in Denmark in 1997.

Finnish progressive death metal supergroup, Barren Earth, have released the brand new single and video for “The Ruby”, taken off their upcoming album, A Complex Of Cages, which will be released on March 30th via Century Media Records.

Vocalist Jón Aldará comments, "This song concerns the inability to feel empathy for others or to care about the effects of one’s actions. It is seen through the mind of a person who is locked inside that isolating condition, while still wishing to fit into society and connect with others. In this instance, the ruby is a metaphor for an unliving, impenetrable heart. With the video, Vesa has tried to capture a quite simplistic, closed-in feeling to represent the concept of the song, but at the same time used the classic "band playing" format, since this the closest thing to a straightforward rocker that Barren Earth has ever made."

Bonfire has released a lyric video for the new song "Crazy Over You", featured on their upcoming Temple Of Lies album, out on April 13th via AFM Records. Find the clip below.

Few German rock acts can look back at as long and successful a career as Bonfire. Counting their predecessor - a group called Cacumen, which was also founded by Hans Ziller and featured more or less the same lineup - the band has been around since 1972, has operated under its current moniker since 1986 and released more than two dozen albums.

During the most successful phase of their career, Bonfire counted - alongside the Scorpions and Accept - among Germany’s three internationally most acclaimed acts, celebrating major success all over Europe and worldwide. Bonfire’s trademarks are and have always been deeply melodic hard rock songs, driven by captivating guitars, grooving rhythms and haunting vocal melodies. All the features that came together so perfectly on their most popular releases Fireworks (1987), Point Blank (1989) and Branded (2011) are present on their current release Temple Of Lies.

Thanks to their new vocalist Alexx Stahl, who joined the fold two years ago, and a first-rate line-up on all instruments, the band’s creativity explodes on Temple Of Lies and is bound to wow a younger generation of rock music fans, too.

“We were extremely lucky to find Alexx,” offers guitarist Hans Ziller in explanation of the group’s current creative and musical high. “He’s a team player who looks after his voice in a totally professional way and treats it like the important tool that it is. He doesn’t smoke and prepares optimally for every show. In addition, Alexx is a really nice guy. Being at the helm of the band, I couldn’t be happier to have him in the band.”

Ziller is just as enthusiastic about his rhythm section consisting of bassist Ronnie Parkes and drummer Tim Breideband (“they seem to have reinvented the groove”), and of course guitarist Frank Pané (“one of the most awesome musicians I’ve ever worked with”). Ziller: “With this line-up, we’ll be able to increase the hardness level of our material whenever we feel like it. Numbers such as ‘Temple Of Lies’ and ‘Stand Or Fall’ wouldn’t have been possible with previous lineups.”

It’s not only the occasionally tougher pace that impresses on Temple Of Lies (produced by Hans Ziller at the Flatliners Recording Studios in Ingolstadt) from the first to the very last note, but also the album’s diverse high-quality songwriting in general. Driving midtempo tracks (‘Feed The Fire’, ‘On The Wings Of An Angel’, ‘Fly Away’, ‘Crazy Over You’) support the afore-mentioned uptempo rock numbers and are expertly broken up by the ballad ‘Comin` Home’ and ‘I Help You Hate Me’, which surprises with a reggae groove verse.

Temple Of Lies kicks off with the intro ‘In The Beginning’, featuring American voice actor David Michael Williamson (Lord Of The Rings). So the fun factor is back in the Bonfire camp, manifesting itself also in the 20-minute bonus track ‘Friedensreich II. - The Return Of The Zünsler Into The T.O.L.’, a humorous sound collage which frequently brings to mind Frank Zappa. The programmatic album title and expressive cover artwork prove that Ziller & Co also live up to their responsibility as socially aware musicians, taking to task “the lies of our world and politicians”. No doubt about it: Temple Of Lies sees Bonfire live up not only to their own history.

TOOL has recruited Joe Barresi to helm the recording sessions for the band's long-awaited new album. Barresi, an acclaimed producer who has worked with AVENGED SEVENFOLD, VOLBEAT and SLIPKNOT, engineered and mixed TOOL's last disc, 2006's "10,000 Days".

TOOL guitarist Adam Jones stated in January that the music for the band's first new effort in more than 12 years was finished, later writing that the recording sessions would begin in March. Meanwhile, frontman Maynard James Keenan revealed last month that he had finished writing the "words and melodies" to all but one new song for the new disc.

Still to be determined are a title and release date for the new disc, although drummer Danny Carey said in several interviews that it would be out sometime this year.

Jones told The Pulse Of Radio not long ago that he never likes to set a date for an LP's arrival. "I don't want to predict, 'cause every time we do, it comes out, 'Oh, TOOL says the record's gonna be done by the end of the year.' So I'm not gonna say," he said.

A brand new STONE TEMPLE PILOTS song titled "Never Enough" was premiered by Yahoo! and can now be streamed below. The track is taken from the band's upcoming self-titled seventh studio LP, which arrives on March 16.

STONE TEMPLE PILOTS guitarist Dean DeLeo said in a recent interview with The San Diego Union-Tribune that the band would have quit if it hadn't found the right singer to succeed the late Scott Weiland and Chester Bennington. DeLeo explained: "If we didn't find the person we felt we could move forward with, we ultimately would have put a fork in it."

But that person turned out to be former "X Factor" contestant Jeff Gutt, with DeLeo saying: "There was no room for error. That's why we spent nearly a year together with Jeff before we invited him to join the band. We wanted to make sure it was the right decision. But we did find somebody who could not ony do the catalog of our previous songs justice, but someone we could write new songs with, too."

Gutt, a Michigan native, was previously a member of the bands RIVAL CITY and DRY CELL. Asked whether Gutt not being an established star was an advantage for the group, DeLeo replied: "I wanted a person I knew we could write songs with... I didn't give a shit if Jeff was well-known or not. I just wanted a guy who could do the gig."

STP had been without a vocalist since November 2015, when Bennington — who joined the group in early 2013 — departed to spend more time with his main band LINKIN PARK. Bennington committed suicide last July.

Weiland, who reunited with the group in 2010 after an eight-year hiatus but was dismissed in 2013, died in December 2015 of a drug overdose.

STP kicked off its first tour with Gutt on the mic on March 2 in Santa Clarita, California.

On March 1st, Cradle Of Filth brought their Cryptoriana European Tour to Trix in Antwerp, Belgium with Moonspell as support. During their set, Moonspell invited Cradle Of Filth backing vocalist / keyboardist Lindsay Schoolcraft on stage to perform "Scorpion Flower", which they have been doing on select dates during the tour. Lindsay first performed "Scorpion Flower" on the tour on February 1st in Tilburg, Netherlands. She posted the following message after the show:

"Last night I got the chance of a lifetime to be up on stage with Moonspell and sing their signature duet, 'Scorpion Flower'. After the performance I could barely hold back tears. Not because the performance was bad! I’m happy to say I kept my pitch the whole time. The reason was because many years ago I created a vision board and listed one of my crazy, out-there dreams as 'sing 'Scorpion Flower' with Moonspell.' Since then I have accomplished many of my goals I set out to complete, but on occasion I felt defeated and like I wanted to give up. Some dreams were a hard reality and not always enjoyable, and more often than you’d think I’d felt seriously cornered or at a dead end, but what I’m trying to say here is DO NOT GIVE UP. No matter how big or ridiculous your dream may be!

The gentlemen in Moonspell have such humility and it was an honour to be up there on stage with them. That performance was proof that you can be anyone and come from anywhere and do big things! I’m just some chick from Oshawa, Canada and I NEVER GAVE UP and neither should you! Thank you endlessly to Fernando, Pedro, Ricardo, Aires, Mike and their fantastic crew for giving me this opportunity that I’ve held dear in my heart for so long."

Australia’s award winning powercore-metal pioneers A Breach Of Silence, have revealed a brand-new music video for the title track off their latest album, Secrets. This is the third music video from their latest full-length album, produced by Fredrik Nordstrom (Bring Me The Horizon, Arch Enemy, In Flames). The video was directed by Matt Donaldson.

“The issue with the world right now is that social media reinforces your beliefs and opinions (whether they are right or wrong), which can create less free-thinking and more uneducated opinions,” states bassist Blair Layt. “The result is people fall further down a path of values (or lack thereof) based upon those reinforced beliefs. At the end of the day, it takes critical thinking and due diligence to weed through all the false messaging out there. That’s essentially what we wrote the song about, but we tried to write it in a way, so people can connect to it however they want. There's a million different ways to interpret it, and that's the beauty of music.”

 Guitarist Mat Cosgrove elaborates, “For the video, we wanted to do something a little different. We used 'beauty' as a metaphor for the music. We wanted to feature some of our favorite places in Queensland which are very close to our hearts, and it certainly doesn't hurt to have someone a bit more attractive than us in the video either. But what is she thinking? What does her body language, and facial expressions mean? It all depends upon how you interpret it. Based on whatever you think, it can be interpreted in any number of ways. That's the essence of music and the arts, it can be seductive and breath-taking while not 'forcing' someone to draw a specific opinion about something. That's our Secret.”

TRIVIUM bassist Paolo Gregoletto told TeamRock about the song: "Corey [Beaulieu, guitar] was scrolling through his TV guide and he saw the phrase 'Beyond Oblivion' on a show, and wrote it down. I felt like I could make that work for a chorus, so I had to think of a theme of what that would be. I was listening to a bunch of podcasts about artificial intelligence, but they were comparing the idea of the coming technology to the atomic bomb — of how we created this incredibly immense, dangerous world-destructing thing in a moment when no one was really thinking of the implications. The song was viewing it from the perspective of someone that creates this sort of technology and comes to view it for what it is.”

Recorded with producer Josh Wilbur (LAMB OF GOD, GOJIRA) at Santa Ana, California's Hybrid Studios, "The Sin And The Sentence" finds TRIVIUM — Matt Heafy (lead vocals, lead guitar), Beaulieu, Gregoletto and Alex Bent (drums) — returning with its first new music since its celebrated 2015 LP "Silence In The Snow". The new LP also features the band's first recordings with new drummer Bent, who joined the band in 2016.

Heafy told Germany's Pitcam.tv about TRIVIUM's decision to include more screaming vocals on "The Sin And The Sentence": "'Silence [In The Snow]' didn't have it because we felt like it didn't quite need it. We could have put it on there from Corey or something because at the time, I hadn't been able to scream again. I blew my voice out two and a half, three years ago at the end of the 'Vengeance Falls' cycle. I had to rebuild it, and re-work at it, but thankfully it's back. It's a piece of cake [now]. It's great. It sounds great on the record — we're happy about it.

"The thing with TRIVIUM is we've always done the kind of music we felt like we needed to do at that time," he continued. "We never are trying to write to a quota or to a person or to a fan base of any kind of specific thing; we're always trying to make what we want to hear as fans of music and fans of metal, and that's what we did with 'The Sin And The Sentence'. I think 'The Sin And The Sentence' has ingredients of everything that TRIVIUM is and everything that's great about TRIVIUM, while 'Silence...' I think has some of the biggest and best hooks and some of the best singing we've ever had. We have done records like that before. 'The Crusade' had pretty much no screaming whatsoever — I think maybe two words were screamed on that record. With 'The Sin and The Sentence', we just made what we felt like we wanted to make."

Added Gregoletto: "There's really not that much screaming. I think it's a little deceptive just because we had an album that didn't have any, and then it kind of made a return on this record, but we made a conscious effort not to just overdo it. I think just to throw screaming into parts would have been, kind of, I don't know... it would have made it feel very forced. We can put it into our music again and use it when we need to. 'The Heart From Your Hate' has no screaming; one of the other singles that will come out eventually has no screaming. I think we've really accomplished being able to do both and we can kind of pick and choose which tools we want to use."

Esoteric Recordings has announced the release of an official limited edition super deluxe boxed set celebrating 50 years of the legendary Procol Harum, Still There’ll Be More. This 8-disc set comprises five CDs and three DVDs, of which the first three discs draw upon the key tracks from Procol Harum’s illustrious career. Disc 4 features the band’s legendary concert at the Hollywood Bowl on September 21st, 1973 (with the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra and the Roger Wagner Chorale), whilst Disc 5 features a previously unreleased concert at the Bournemouth Winter Gardens on March 17th, 1976.

Of the DVD content, (NTSC – Region Free) which features over three and a half hours of footage, mostly previously unreleased, Disc 6 begins with a performance of "A Whiter Shade Of Pale" on the BBC TV show Top Of The Pops from December 1967 before moving to the archives of the German Beat Club series. All of the band’s surviving performances for the show are here, including the entire un-broadcast raw video footage of the band’s Beat Club Workshop studio concert from 1971, shorn of the visual gimmickry of the actual broadcast, revealing the pure performance on DVD for the first time. Disc 7 features the entire sixty-five minute recording session of a performance for the German Musikladen series in October 1973, most of which was never shown on television. Disc 8 features more BBC TV performances, including a rendition of Pandora’s Box from Top Of The Pops in September 1975 and the band’s set for the Sight and Sound In Concert series in March 1977.

This lavish re-mastered set also features a 68-page hard backed book with an essay by Patrick Humphries and a lengthy in depth commentary on the performances featured by respected Procol Harum authority Roland Clare. Iconic rock band STEPPENWOLF and frontman John Kay will release the definitive career retrospective, "Steppenwolf At 50", a 3-CD collection featuring 41-tracks, to celebrate the band's half-century of music.

Set for release Friday, March 16 via Los Angeles-based Rainman Records, the collection includes five rare or never-heard-before tracks. Guitar World premiered the recently-unearthed song "Compared To What", proclaiming, "The song features the classic STEPPENWOLF sound — authoritative, scooped-but-solid guitars, growling vocals and-in this case — a satisfying jam section that's punctuated by tight drumming and pulsating bass."

"Steppenwolf At 50" covers the band's storied career, from their 1968 debut through 13 studio albums — billed both as STEPPENWOLF and JOHN KAY & STEPPENWOLF — as well as their Top 10 hits "Born To Be Wild", "Magic Carpet Ride" and "Rock Me". The group's "16 Greatest Hits" album is certified platinum and they have earned nine gold records. The band's music struck a true counter-culture note in the 1960s, and two songs — "The Pusher" and "Born To Be Wild" — were featured prominently in the 1969 Dennis Hopper/Peter Fonda film "Easy Rider". "Steppenwolf At 50" was personally overseen by Kay and longtime manager Ron Rainey.

In his liner notes, Kay thanks band members, both past and present, as well as their loyal "Wolfpack" fan base. "That was 50 years ago as of this writing and much transpired during that time of course," says Kay. "In between seemingly endless tours at home and abroad, we somehow managed to write, rehearse and record numerous subsequent albums, but the hectic pace sometimes took its toll; not only on the band but also on our home lives and families... it is particularly dedicated to those who never stopped being there when we needed their support the most. Every band member past and present, who is heard on these recordings, played an important role as musician, fellow singer or songwriter in the WOLF's recording history and is accordingly acknowledged in the credits."

Born during World War II in Germany, Kay and his mother escaped the advancing Soviets, eventually settling down in Canada in the late 1950s. A longtime affliction with color blindness and poor vision led the youngster to devour the pop music he heard on Canadian and nearby Buffalo, New York radio stations. Kay started playing guitar in his early teens, in 1965 he joined Canadian band THE SPARROWS. Kay has been married to his wife Jutta for 50 years.

In 2004, John and Jutta formed the Maue-Kay Foundation which is dedicated to wildlife, the environment and human rights. Kay donates the net proceeds from all STEPPENWOLF shows to various NGOs that support their mission. "In recent years, whether at home in North America or through travels in other parts of the world, we've increasingly come in contact with people whose efforts to protect wildlife, the natural environment and human rights are an inspiration to us," he says. "Providing financial assistance for their various projects is the primary mission of the Maue-Kay Foundation. However, we also hope to enlist additional support for their exemplary work, through the information, images and video clips, featured on our various projects."

After taking a few months off, STEPPENWOLF will kick off its 2018 touring schedule this Friday (March 10) in Ft. Pierce, Florida.

US power metal band Reverence have singed a multi album deal for Europe, CIS and UK with ROAR! Rock Of Angels Records. Reverence is working on a live CD and writing on a new full-length studio album for an release later this year. Reverence will add some summer US shows, and a European tour is being planned for this fall.

Reverence recently released an EP Foreverence in tribute to their guitarist Pete Rossi, who passed away unexpectedly in March 2017. The EP is the follow-up to 2015’s Gods Of War and will also feature two bonus tracks from their up and coming live CD.

Germany's Atrocity have announced that Entombed A.D. vocalist LG Petrov has recorded guest vocals for their upcoming album, entitled Okkult II and expected this year via Massacre Records worldwide.
