DREAM THEATER To Perform Entire 1999 Concept Album 'Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes From A Memory' On Upcoming TourProgessive metal giants DREAM THEATER recently announced the first dates for the "Distance Over Time" world tour, which is also being billed as a 20th-anniversary celebration of the band's fifth album, 1999's "Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes From A Memory". Asked by Rolling Stone if DREAM THEATER will play the whole record at each show, guitarist John Petrucci said: "We are. The tour is going to be 'An Evening With,' and part of the evening will be playing some of the new record and some older songs in our catalog, and then also playing 'Scenes From A Memory' in its entirety. So it going to be a lot of fun. And that was a really important record for us, speaking of storytelling and all that. Because it was our first concept record."
Petrucci said that "Metropolis Pt. 2" was significant for him because "it was our first album with [keyboardist] Jordan [Rudess], so that was important. And it was the first album where we didn't use an outside producer. I remember back then having a conversation with Mike [original DREAM THEATER drummer Mike Portnoy] where we said, 'Let's not do that anymore. Let's produce ourselves.' And we basically have ever since. So in that respect, 'Scenes From A Memory' might have actually been a record that was a reaction to the previous one. And then we also figured that we hadn't done a concept album yet, and we decided that it was time. It was like, let's make our 'Operation: Mindcrime', our 'Tommy', our 'The Wall'. It was definitely a conscious decision to do something bold and new and different."
DREAM THEATER will release its 14th studio album, "Distance Over Time", on February 22, 2019. The artwork was created by long-time cover collaborator Hugh Syme (RUSH, IRON MAIDEN, STONE SOUR). The disc was produced by Petrucci, mixed by Ben Grosse and mastered by Tom Baker.
"Distance Over Time" will mark DREAM THEATER's first album for Sony Music's progressive imprint InsideOut Music. The group spent the past 25 years recording under various labels in the Warner Music Group system, most recently Roadrunner Records, which released five albums by the band between 2007 and 2016.
he "Distance Over Time" tour of North America kicks off on March 20, 2019 in San Diego, California. The tour will run for seven weeks before wrapping up in Mexico City on May 4, 2019. Information on tickets for all upcoming shows as well as VIP packages can be found at DreamTheater.net. 9

THE QUIREBOYS' U.K. Tour To Go Ahead Despite Equipment TheftTHE QUIREBOYS have vowed to carry on with their U.K. tour after some of their equipment was stolen.
The band's storage unit in Bedford was broken into and various pieces of music equipment and personal belongings were swiped.
According to BBC News, some of the equipment, including pedal boards and amplifiers worth "thousands", was later found dumped in a car park. But two vintage guitars are still still missing.
The theft was discovered on Thursday after THE QUIREBOYS returned from Norway following a run of European shows.
At one point we thought we wouldn't be able to go ahead with our U.K. tour," guitarist Paul Guerin told BBC News. "But thankfully, most of the stuff has been found now and we've been overwhelmed by the support of people who offered to help us with replacements.
"A Facebook post about what happened has had more than 3,000 shares and it's been really humbling to have had such an unbelievable response from companies and people we don't even know who wanted to help."
Items stolen included merchandise, a pedal board, tuners, digital delay and a suitcase containing Guerin's clothes for the tour, which starts in Leeds on Thursday.
THE QUIREBOYS will release their new album, "Amazing Disgrace", on February 8, 2019.
Quireboys Equipment Stolen
As you may have heard, The Quireboys storage unit has been broken into and many of the bands music equipment and personal belongings have been stolen. This happened in Tavistock Street, Bedford. All the info about this can be heard on the live interview on BBC3 with Guy. JOEY JORDISON Says VIMIC Is 'Still One Hundred Percent Active'Joey Jordison says that his band VIMIC is still "one hundred percent active" despite the fact that the group's Facebook page hasn't been updated in a year.
Jordison formed VIMIC in May 2016 after the breakup of his previous band SCAR THE MARTYR. The former SLIPKNOT drummer later said that he wanted to change the name of the project to "wipe the slate clean" and start afresh.
Joey is joined in VIMIC by vocalist Kalen Chase, guitarists Jed Simon and Steve Marshall, bassist Kyle Konkiel and keyboardist Matt Tarach.
In October 2017, it was announced that VIMIC had signed a global deal with Universal Music Enterprises (UMe) and T-Boy Records, UMe's label partnership with rock manager Andy Gould. The band's debut album, "Open Your Omen", was set to be produced by Jordison and Kato Khandwala (MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE, THE PRETTY RECKLESS), with mixing and mastering assistance from MEGADETH's Dave Mustaine, who guested on "Open Your Omen"'s first single, "Fail Me (My Temple)".
b>Jordison, who recently completed a European tour with the international death metal supergroup SINSAENUM, was asked about VIMIC's status in a brand new interview with Australia's "Wall of Sound: Up Against The Wall" podcast. He said (hear audio below): "Oh, VIMIC still exists — one hundred percent. It hasn't gone anywhere. That band's not broken up; it's one hundred percent still in existence. We're just… Right now, you've gotta go where the opportunity is available. And VIMIC is still one hundred percent active."
VIMIC supported MEGADETH on several South American tour dates in October 2017.
Jordison recently confirmed that he is working on his first-ever book. The 43-year-old musician's memoir will arrive several years after he overcome the neurological condition acute transverse myelitis, an inflammation of the spinal cord which damages nerve fibers, which ultimately led to the drummer temporarily losing the use of his legs.
Jordison, SLIPKNOT's drummer from 1995 to 2013, revealed his fight with the seldom-seen neuro-immune disorder more than two years ago while appearing at the Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards in London, England. He later claimed that he was visited by only one member of SLIPKNOT while he was in the hospital battling the disease. He also said that SLIPKNOT fired him because "they thought I was fucked up on drugs." 2

LIMP BIZKIT To Begin Recording New AlbumLIMP BIZKIT is preparing to enter the studio to begin recording its sixth studio album.
Guitarist Wes Borland said in an Instragram post that the original plan was to start the follow-up to 2011's "Gold Cobra" last weekend, but wildfires in Southern California forced him and his bandmates to delay the process by a few days.
Borland says: "Getting warmed up to actually make a brand new LIMP BIZKIT album. We would have started last Saturday but were displaced by the fires and lost some gear. Getting back on our feet and in the studio within the week."
Earlier this week, Wes posted a video of a home on fire, saying: "My pedalboard, two guitars, two amps, a 2x12 cabinet, several other pedals and misc equipment were inside this house." LIMP BIZKIT frontman Fred Durst also implied on Instagram that he lost his home in the flames.
ince the arrival of "Gold Cobra" seven years ago, LIMP BIZKIT issued four singles and promised to release a full-length collection of new material called "Stampede Of The Disco Elephants". That album never surfaced.
LIMP BIZKIT and Lil Wayne's collaborative single, "Ready To Go", was made available in July 2013. The track was released via Cash Money, Lil Wayne's longtime record company.
LIMP BIZKIT in 2011 parted ways with Interscope, the label that released all of the band's records thus far through its subsidiaries Flip, Geffen and Suretone Records.

Watch Pro-Shot Video Of GREAT WHITE Performing 'Lady Red Light' With New Singer MITCH MALLOYGREAT WHITE has released a performance video of the song "Lady Red Light", featuring the band's latest addition, singer Mitch Malloy. The clip was filmed on August 18 at the Kentucky State Fair at Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, Kentucky.
GREAT WHITE guitarist Mark Kendall told KBACK Radio that the band wanted to make "a proper video and record a show with something other than a cellphone to kind of introduce Mitch. And our [booking] agent will use it for this and that, and we'll just throw it out there free — it's nothing we're gonna really put together to sell or anything; we just want people to see it properly and hear how it sounds at the show," he said. "Because when you hear a cellphone [recording], the guy [filming] might be over by the bass player's side and it might distort a little bit. So it really isn't a great representation, although we welcome the cellphones — I don't care if everybody holds 'em up and records us — but it's not really a great representation of what happened that night."
In early July, GREAT WHITE announced that it was parting ways with vocalist Terry Ilous and was replacing him with Malloy.
"[Mitch] is an incredible singer, artist, songwriter and engineer," Kendall said. "We're beyond excited to stretch our musical muscles with a fresh, new take on GREAT WHITE's catalog of hits."
dded Malloy: "I have to represent this music honorably. I respect what has come before me, and have to remind fans of where they were when they first heard these songs. I also have to be myself at the same time. When I first heard my own voice with GREAT WHITE's music, I knew something special was going on."
Keyboardist/guitarist Michael Lardie praised Malloy for his musical chops and reputation.
"We had an immediate rapport with Mitch," Lardie said. "I'm positive the fans will embrace Mitch and continue to support GREAT WHITE. This music is bigger than any one person."
Ilous, formerly of '80s L.A. hard rockers XYZ, joined GREAT WHITE in 2010 after stepping in for touring vocalist Jani Lane (WARRANT).
The Ilous-led GREAT WHITE released two albums, 2012's "Elation" and last year's "Full Circle", before Terry was shown the door.
This version of GREAT WHITE is not to be confused with JACK RUSSELL'S GREAT WHITE, which features original GREAT WHITE singer Jack Russell alongside Robby Lochner (FIGHT) on guitar, Dan McNay on bass, Tony Montana on guitar and Dicki Fliszar on drums.

JOE PERRY Is 'Doing Well' After Collapsing At BILLY JOEL ConcertAEROSMITH guitarist Joe Perry says that he is "doing well," three days after he was hospitalized following an appearance with Billy Joel.
Only minutes after guesting with Joel on stage on Saturday night (November 10) at Madison Square Garden in New York City, Perry experienced shortness of breath and was treated by paramedics. The legendary rocker, who's now 68, was taken out of the Garden on a stretcher after paramedics worked on him in his dressing room, reportedly inserting a tracheal tube down his throat at one point.
Earlier today, Perry issued a short update on his health status, tweeting: "Doing well, thanks for all the love and support!"
As most fans will remember, back on July 10, 2016, Perry collapsed during a HOLLYWOOD VAMPIRES gig at Brooklyn, New York's Ford Amphitheater at Coney Island Boardwalk.
b>Alice Cooper, who fronts the all-star covers band, recalled to CBS News at the time that he was unaware that Perry was perhaps not geared up for such a rigorous schedule. "I didn't realize AEROSMITH only did two shows a week. Honestly, I just figured everybody was like me. I do five shows a week, and very physical shows. We were on our eighth show in 10 days. It was pretty brutal. I think [Joe] was dehydrated and basically exhausted. I talked to him before the show and he said, 'I don't think I've eaten anything in three days.' I went, 'Well, that's not smart.'"
Cooper went on to squash the rumors that Perry had collapsed due to a coronary, explaining: "It wasn't his heart, though, and it wasn't anything vital, because four or five days later, he was on stage with us and I'd never seen him look so good."
Perry is scheduled to kick off a solo tour on November 30 in support of his most recent solo album, "Sweetzerland Manifesto".

HELIX Drummer Placed In Medically Induced Coma After Fracturing Skull In FallGreg "Fritz" Hinz, longtime drummer for Canadian hard rockers HELIX, has been placed in a medically induced coma after fracturing his skull in a fall from the roof of his house.
According to HELIX singer Brian Vollmer, Hinz's injuries "are not life-threatening" but doctors are "keeping him in a coma and on breathing tubes until they feel he's all right to come out of it."
As a result of his condition, Hinz — who joined HELIX in 1982 and stayed in the band until 1996, before returning to the group 13 years later — will be unable to play with HELIX at the band's two scheduled gigs in Ontario this weekend. Filling in for him will be Jamie Constance from SYRE.
Vollmer's full message reads as follows: "I want to post this before rumors start flying around.
This morning, shortly after I had just posted a video from yesterday's practice, I received a phone call from Fritz's girlfriend Traci. Fritz had gone out to the front of the house to fix some shingles on the roof. When Traci's sister went out to check on him, he was laying on the front lawn, having fallen from the roof. Luckily, one of the first two people on the scene was a nurse, who immediately phoned 9-1-1. He had a seizure on the front lawn and then another on the way to the hospital in Hamilton. They immediately put him in a drug-induced coma with breathing tubes down his throat.
"Over the course of the day, I started to receive as much info as the doctors were giving Traci. It was a day of crying, pacing, and praying. He had hit his head pretty hard on the way down and who knows what else he hit as he fell.
"About an hour ago, Traci phoned me to say that the doctor had told her the injuries are not life-threatening (they think) but regardless, he will have some serious rehab in the future. He fractured his skull and crushed a few vertebrae. The doctors are keeping him in a coma and on breathing tubes until they feel he's alright to come out of it. He's also moving his legs — a good sign.
"Please pray for Fritz tonight, everyone! This weekend will still go on with Jamie Constance from SYRE filling in on drums. I will keep everyone updated on how Fritz is doing. Get well, my brother."
Upcoming HELIX shows:
Nov. 16 - Maxwell's - Waterloo, ON
Nov. 17 - The Brass Monkey - Ottawa, ON
HELIX's latest studio album, "Bastard Of The Blues", came out in 2014.

ANTHRAX's SCOTT IAN: How A Cigarette 'Literally' Saved LEMMY From Having A Part Of His Body AmputatedANTHRAX guitarist Scott Ian spoke to Landry.Audio about his friendship with iconic MOTÖRHEAD frontman Lemmy Kilmister, who died in December 2015 at the age of 70 shortly after learning he had been diagnosed with cancer. Asked if it became obvious to him that Lemmy was starting to get quite ill in the months leading up to his death, Scott said: "No, he wasn't really that ill yet at that point. He wasn't as healthy as he has been. He had been diagnosed with diabetes at some point, if I remember correctly, so he was battling that. I remember at some point [hearing that] Lemmy switched to vodka. Like, that was news. In the rock world, that was major headline news. I remember hearing that, like, 'Lemmy's got diabetes, and no more Jack-and-Cokes, because of the sugar content. He switched to vodka.' I was, like, 'Wow! After 50 years, that's a big deal.'"
Ian continued: "Look, when a guy like that hits the wall, living the life that he has been living since he was a teenager… The guy had been hitting it hard for 50-odd years already by the time the early two-thousand-teens rolled in. So, eventually you're gonna hit the wall. I don't care who you are — everyone hits the wall. No matter how healthy you are and no matter how fucked up of a life you led and how hard you lived, and when you've lived as hard as Lemmy did, when you hit the wall, it's gonna be worse than the average human."
The guitarist added: "I did spend a lot of time with him over the years; lucky enough for me, it was a privilege to have spent 30-odd years or something knowing him and being friendly with him. And I asked him one time about smoking: 'Do you think you'll ever quit?' or this or that. These are questions he just… there wasn't even an answer to. He wasn't gonna quit smoking; he wasn't gonna quit drinking."
Ian also relayed a story about Lemmy that illustrated how the late MOTÖRHEAD frontman was always willing to deal with the effects of an extreme lifestyle if it meant living his way.
He literally almost lost a couple of toes because when he was in the throes of figuring out the diabetes and all that, a couple of his toes went black from bad circulation and all this," the guitarist said. "And he saw some doctor in L.A., and they were, like, 'Oh, [you must go under the knife] immediately. You're gonna lose the toes,' and this and that. And he was, like, 'I need a second opinion.' And he flew back to London and saw a doctor there. And it was the same kind of thing: 'We need to get these off. It's an emergency.' And it comes to… He goes to have the surgery done and he's sitting in this office and he's smoking a cigarette. And someone tells him, 'You're not allowed to smoke in here. What are you — crazy? You can't smoke in this office.' And he said, 'Well, if I'm gonna fucking lose a toe, I'm gonna have a fucking cigarette.' And long story short, they said, 'You can't smoke in here.' And he said, 'Well, then I won't be in here.' And he left. And he ended up seeing another doctor, and they literally told him, 'You just need to change this or this in your diet, and your feet are gonna be fine.' And he changed his diet, and he didn't have to have his toes cut off. So a cigarette literally saved him from having a part of his body amputated."
Scott added: "That's when he started using Diet Coke instead of regular Coke in his Jack-and-Cokes, I believe. The doctor literally told him: 'Switch to Diet Coke, and you don't have to lose your toes.' [Laughs]"
Lemmy had dealt with several health issues over the last few years of his life, including heart trouble, forcing him to cut back on his famous smoking habits.
MOTÖRHEAD had to cancel a number of shows in 2015 because of Lemmy's poor health, although the band did manage to complete one final European tour a couple of weeks before his death. 7

DEEP PURPLE's ROGER GLOVER Says Bands Like RIVAL SONS And GRETA VAN FLEET Would Have Been 'Huge' In 1970sIn a brand new interview with Mexico's MB Live, DEEP PURPLE bassist Roger Glover spoke about the state of today's rock music scene. He said (see video below): "First of all, there's two kinds of music — there's pop music and there's rock music. And they obviously have something to do with each other, but they're very different. And it's also a different time now. And a band like RIVAL SONS or GRETA VAN FLEET, if they were back in the '70s, they'd be huge — top of the charts everywhere. But it's a different world; it's now a world of streaming and a world of likes…
"But there's some great musicians around," he continued. "I listen to music all the time; it's what I do. I don't listen to pop radio; I don't listen to the hits and stuff. I listen to a wide range of music and there's some brilliant musicians around. And it's very difficult for them to make a living. It's because the only thing you can make really a living at — unless you're Beyoncé or someone — is live music, and there aren't that many places to play. When we were growing up, you could five nights or six nights a week — easy."
DEEP PURPLE's "The Long Goodbye" tour started in May 2017 in Europe and included a North American leg with ALICE COOPER and EDGAR WINTER as well as another summer run with JUDAS PRIEST.
The band's latest album, "InFinite", came out in April 2017 via earMUSIC.
b>DEEP PURPLE — which had been eligible for induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame for two decades — finally entered the Rock Hall as part of the class of 2016. The band's first three lineups were inducted, including drummer Ian Paice, guitarist Ritchie Blackmore, late keyboardist Jon Lord, and various singers and bassists — Rod Evans; Ian Gillan and Roger Glover; and David Coverdale and Glenn Hughes. 13

GENE SIMMONS Says KISS's 'End Of The Road' Tour Could Last More Than Three YearsIn a brand new interview with KTLA anchor Frank Buckley, KISS bassist and vocalist Gene Simmons was asked if the band's upcoming "End Of The Road" tour will truly be fans' last opportunity to see the iconic rockers perform live. "This is real," he responded (see video below). "Folks play that game," apparently referring to other bands who have announced farewell tours, only to change their minds at a later date. "And I'll tell you why it's real. Because I'm 69; I still have some hair on my head [and] lots more on my back. It has to be [real], because I wear seven-, eight-inch platform boots; our outfits… mine wears at least 40 pounds; I've gotta spit fire and fly through the air and do all that kind of stuff. I don't like heights, so if you put [Mick] Jagger and Bono, who are both great, and you stick 'em in my outfit, they'd pass out in a half hour. We're the hardest-working band in show business — period. This is a good time to go — have some dignity, go when you're doing… So this is gonna be a long tour — two to three years… maybe longer. Two, three years we're gonna stay out there while it's still good. The last thing you wanna do is introduce yourself, and we have been, for 45 years, 'All right' — put in the city — 'you want the best. You've got the best. The hottest band in the world: KISS.' Why would you wanna do that when they [see] four fat guys walk out there with the jowls hanging off of 'em. No, you don't wanna do that."
In September, KISS announced its "End Of The Road" farewell tour on NBC's "America's Got Talent", and two weeks ago, the band revealed the first set of dates and cities in North America, produced by Live Nation. International markets were announced simultaneously.
The North American leg of "End Of The Road" will launch January 31 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada at Rogers Arena and will hit an additional 43 cities.
As most fans remember, back in 2000 and 2001, KISS already performed a "Farewell Tour". The trek, which was the last to feature both Ace Frehley and Peter Criss, played 142 shows over five legs, covering North America, Japan, and Australia.
b>KISS's current lineup features Simmons, Paul Stanley, Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer.
Stanley has hinted that Frehley and Criss could make appearances on "End Of The Road", but KISS hasn't promised anything beyond a longer set and newly designed band costumes. 2

Malaysia's Leading Cinema Exhibitor Denies Major Cuts To QUEEN Biopic 'Bohemian Rhapsody'The leading cinema exhibitor in Malaysia has denied that 24 minutes of "Bohemian Rhapsody" have been cut for the film's Malaysian audience.
The Malaysian Film Censorship Board reportedly removed content from the QUEEN biopic that was largely of a homosexual nature, including the music video for "I Want To Break Free" and the scene where singer Freddie Mercury explains to his fiancée, Mary Austin, that he is bisexual.
However, GSC issued a statement earlier today maintaining that the runtime of "Bohemian Rhapsody" in Malaysia is just three minutes shorter than the U.S. version, despite the web sites of GSC and other cinema chains like TGV stating runtimes of 134 and 135 minutes, respectively.
"The runtime for #BohemianRhapsody in Malaysia is 131 minutes. The runtime in the US is 134 minutes. So it's DEFINITELY NOT 20 MINUTES CUT. So (fill in the blank), get the facts right," GSC said on its Facebook page, signing off with "Love, #GSCAdmin". The cinema chain also clarified that it had no say in censorship, saying: "This is between the studio and the censorship board. Cinemas can't do censorship. We are only playing the content."
n addition to the shorter runtime, the movie has been stamped with an 18 rating, in contrast to the PG-13 rating in the United States and United Kingdom.
"Bohemian Rhapsody", starring "Mr. Robot"'s Rami Malek as Mercury, earned $30 million in its second weekend to get over the $100 mllion U.S. milestone. The film has earned a whopping $185 million overseas thus far on a $55 million budget.
While many reviews have slammed the film for its uninspired storytelling, some people have also taken issue with the movie's depiction of Mercury's sexuality — or rather, its lack thereof. The biopic focuses heavily on the relationship between him and Austin, who discovers midway through the film that he's cheating on her with other men.
"Bohemian Rhapsody" began production with "X-Men" director Bryan Singer behind the camera, but the filmmaker was fired from the movie after he disappeared from set and caused production delays. Dexter Fletcher, best known for making "Eddie the Eagle", stepped in to replace Singer in the director's chair.
The runtime for #BohemianRhapsody in Malaysia is 131 minutes. The runtime in the US is 134 minutes.
So it's DEFINITELY NOT 20 MINUTES CUT. So (fill in the blank), get the facts right.
Love,

OCTOBER TIDE Feat. Former KATATONIA Members: Sixth Album Due In Early 2019OCTOBER TIDE, the long-running Swedish doom five-piece featuring former KATATONIA members Fredrik and Mattias Norrman, will enter the studio at the end of November to begin recording its sixth album. The follow-up to 2016's "Winged Waltz" will be mixed and mastered by Karl Daniel Liden (BLOODBATH, KATATONIA, CULT OF LUNA) in January for a spring 2019 release via Agonia Records.
Fredrik Norrman comments: "We haven't made much noise about this so far, but we have written a bunch of songs lately. In fact, we have almost a whole album more or less finished."
OCTOBER TIDE's last live appearance took place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates on October 26. Shortly before the recording sessions, the band will travel south to Bucharest, Romania, where they'll perform at the Metal Gates festival with ROTTING CHRIST, SHINING and DRACONIAN. While recording the album, they will play a show at December Doom festival in Vantaa, Finland, with plans to do a special setlist from its debut release, "Rain Without End".
Formed in 1995 by KATATONIA members Jonas Renkse and Fredrik Norrman, OCTOBER TIDE spawned two, now-cult releases, "Rain Without End" (1997) and "Grey Dawn" (1999), before going on hiatus for over eleven years. Reunited in 2009, the Swedes released three more studio albums — "A Thin Shell" (2010), "Tunnel Of No Light" (2013) and "Winged Waltz" (2016) — all of which featured exceptional guitar work, on top of the band's emotional touch on death metal.

ALICE COOPER, GENE SIMMONS, ROB ZOMBIE, COREY TAYLOR Pay Tribute To STAN LEEAccording to The Pulse Of Radio, rock artists responded on Monday (November 12) to the death of Marvel Comics legend Stan Lee, who passed away that morning at the age of 95 after being rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
Lee was born as Stanley Lieber in Manhattan on December 28, 1922. He went to work as a teenager at Timely Comics, the forerunner of what briefly became Atlas Comics and then Marvel. Working his way up to editor and writer, Lee and artist Jack Kirby changed the face of comics and pop culture forever in 1961 when they created the superhero team The Fantastic Four.
From that point on, Lee — along with Kirby and other artists like Steve Ditko — launched one iconic character after another, including Iron Man, Thor, Spider-Man, the Hulk, the Avengers, the X-Men, Daredevil, Black Panther, Doctor Strange and many more, all existing together in a shared universe that became known as the Marvel Universe. The comics, books, movies, games and TV shows that have sprung from the work done by Lee, Kirby and others are now the basis of a multi-billion-dollar multi-media empire owned by Disney.
Lee's characters were groundbreaking in that they were flawed, vulnerable and insecure, subject to family fights, financial difficulties and other normal human problems and issues. The stories also addressed concerns of their times such as racism and war.
Many rock musicians were inspired by Lee's stories and characters. Rob Zombie wrote, "Marvel comics was one of the best things I remember about being a kid. Thanks for everything. What would we have done without you?"
Alice Cooper said in a statement on his Facebook page: "Apart from being a hero in the comic world, Stan was so much fun to be around. He had a regal air about him. He was gracious to his fans too - he knew who he was to people and seemed to love every minute of it. Of course MY absolute favorite thing about Stan Lee is that when he had me drawn for the comics, it was with great abs. Thanks for that Stan!"
METALLICA guitarist Kirk Hammett offered, "Stan Lee was a visionary and a pioneer. I owe a lot to him for personally shaping my childhood fantasy worlds, my appreciation for art on all levels, & for teaching me humanness and humility through his wonderfully insightful stories."
SLIPKNOT and STONE SOUR frontman Corey Taylor said simply, "Heartbroken. Thank you for making me believe in heroes," while BAD WOLVES guitarist Doc Coyle remarked, "RIP Stan Lee. A true legend."
Gene Simmons of KISS, which was the subject of its own Marvel comic book in 1977, wrote, "Thank you for making my childhood so much more exciting with your astonishing superhero characters. Thank you for inspiring me to think and dream big. Thank you for the Hulk, Thor, Fantastic Four and many others. You will be sadly missed."
Lee had been ill in recent years and lost his wife of 69 years, Joan, in July 2017. He is survived by a daughter, Joan "J.C." Lee, along with the universe, characters and stories that will endure for generations to come. 2

MURDERER'S ROW Featuring DAVID GLEN EISLEY, BOB KULICK Release Music Video For 1996 Track "India"Vocalist David Glen Eisley (ex-Giuffria) and guitarist Bob Kulick (KISS, W.A.S.P., Meatloaf) have released a new music video for the song "India", taken off of the 1996 Murderer's Row album, recently reissued via Cherry Red Records. Watch below.
In a new interview with The Metal Voice, Bob Kulick talks about the re-release, KISS, Meatloaf, .W.A.S.P., and more.
Says Bob, "It is a reissue but most fans would have never heard the vast majority of what is on this reissue album. For the following reasons, for one it was released a long time ago in 1996 and second because it was never officially released in a few territories and last because it includes a second disc of demo remixes no one has ever heard before. People will find this album to be a lost nugget of gold. You will recognize the people involved like Jimmy Waldo (Alcatraz), David Glen Eisley (ex- Giuffria) bassist Chuck Wright (Quiet Riot) drummer Drummer Jay Schellenbaum (Asia). Most people will have not heard this so it will appear to be something brand new and we will also be releasing a brand new music video for the album for the song India to support the album."
Produced by Bob Kulick, Jimmy Waldo and David Glen Eisley, and engineered by Pat Regan, the self-titled Murderer’s Row CD now includes a second disc of unreleased bonus tracks of rough mixes of the entire album
Few rock musicians have a history as varied and impressive as influential lead guitarist Bob Kulick. In the 1970s, Bob worked with KISS on Alive II, followed by Unmasked and Killers, as well as Paul Stanley’s 1978 solo LP. Bob’s younger brother, Bruce Kulick, would go on to join KISS for a number of years. Bob also found time to play on Lou Reed’s Coney Island Baby (1975), Michael Bolton’s 1983 debut, W.A.S.P.'s The Crimson Idol (1992) and Still Not Black Enough (1995), in addition to a long running collaboration with MeatLoaf, from touring the Bat Out Of Hell LP, through to 1987’s Live At Wembley album, and also two albums with Balance in the early 80s. In the 1990s he recorded with Blackthorne alongside former Rainbow vocalist Graham Bonnet, as well as the hard rock group, Skull, who released their sole LP, No Bones About It in 1991.
Which brings us to the short-lived Murderer’s Row, where Bob was joined by Jimmy Waldo on keyboards, who has had as varied a career as Kulick, having played with Alcatrazz, Blackthorne (alongside Kulick), Graham Bonnet Band, New England and Quiet Riot. The band were fronted by David Glen Eisley, who had previously sung lead vocals for the bands Sorcery (1980 - 1983), Giuffria (1983 - 1988) and Dirty White Boy (1988 - 1991) before joining Bob and Jimmy in Murderer’s Row. Drummer Jay Schellenbaum had played with Asia, Circa and Hurricane, with the lineup completed by bassist Chuck Wright.
The set includes a new essay from Malcolm Dome, based on recent interviews with Bob Kulick, Jimmy Waldo and David Glen Eisley, discussing how the band formed and the making of the record. Murderer’s Row should appeal to fans of commercial, hard rock, and bands such as KISS, Blackthorne and MeatLoaf.

Canada's NECRONOMICON To Release New Album In 2019For the last 30 years, Rob "The Witch" and NECRONOMICON have been conspiring to bring essential death metal to Canada and the world, with none surviving the pure devilish onslaught that these pioneers embody. Playing over 1,000 intense gigs since their conception in 1988 around the world, including the longest continuous Canadian tour on record (27 dates), they have firmly planted their boots in metal history.
NECRONOMICON is one of the most well-known names in the death metal scene, with an exclusive death metal sound complemented with angelic voices, narration and, of course, destructive guitar riffs and unforgiving drumming that fuel the violent mosh pits that converge without fail at the feet of this formidable act.
The uncomfortable silence that has been echoing from the NECRONOMICON camp now comes to a halt as the eternal trio emerges to once again slaughter death metal fans in the form of the first hometown ritual in two years in Montreal and a yet-to-be-titled new album in the works for 2019.
For those in the Montreal area, descend into the bestial pit of chaos with NECRONOMICON at Foufounes Électriques alongside AUGURY, DÉMENCE and HIDDEN PRIDE on Friday, November 16.
b>NECRONOMICON's latest album, "Advent Of The Human God", was released in March 2016 via Season Of Mist.
