BEHEMOTH Plots

BEHEMOTH Plots 'Spectacular' New Album, Mixes Live Record

BEHEMOTH frontman Adam "Nergal" Darski has told Metal Hammer magazine that working on his side project ME AND THAT MAN has given him a "great hunger to make new music" with his main band.

ME AND THAT MAN, which pairs Nergal with British/Polish rock musician John Porter, will release its debut album, "Songs Of Love And Death", on March 24 through Cooking Vinyl. The project draws heavily on blues, country and folk to make music as dark as if it was being screamed over shredding guitars.

Nergal told Metal Hammer: "[BEHEMOTH is] in writing mode and I've been really creative lately.

"Once I did ME AND THAT MAN, I came back with a great hunger to make new music for BEHEMOTH.

"It's a little different. On one hand, where we stopped with 'The Satanist', I take it from that place, but I'm developing. There's new sounds and there's new flavor I'm incorporating in these new songs.

"It's exciting. We've got a few songs started, some are finished — but we're not rushing. We want to make sure everyone is on the same page, everyone is happy with the process and we are comfortable with everything that comes out."

He added: "All those people who don't like that I'm doing a thing on the side, relax. BEHEMOTH is going and I bet it's going better than ever. Be patient. I've got to do this thing first, then I'll come back and do something that's spectacular again."

In other news, Nergal has revealed that BEHEMOTH is currently mixing a new album focusing on the touring cycle behind the band's 2014 album "The Satanist". It is not presently clear when the effort will be made available.

BEHEMOTH last year completed a North American tour where the band played "The Satanist" in its entirety. In addition to the concert, fans also had the chance to view "The Congregation" exhibition at each venue. Dubbed "a symbiosis of BEHEMOTH and Toxic Vision," the display showcased the collaboration between the two parties.

"The Satanist" sold around 10,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 34 on The Billboard 200 chart.

METALLICA: Official Video Footage Of

METALLICA: Official Video Footage Of 'Enter Sandman' Performance From Hollywood Palladium

Official video footage of METALLICA performing the song "Enter Sandman" on February 12 at the Hollywood Palladium in Hollywood, California can be seen below.

The intimate concert at the Hollywood Palladium — for around 3,000 or so fans — was held just hours after METALLICA powered through technical difficulties during a special duet with pop superstar Lady Gaga at the 59th annual Grammy Awards.

METALLICA has announced the European leg of its "WorldWired" tour in support of the band's new album, "Hardwired… To Self-Destruct". The trek kicks off with two shows in Amsterdam at the Ziggo Dome on September 4 and September 6. Norway's KVELERTAK will be support for the tour run.

The North American leg of the "WorldWired" 2017 tour kicks off on May 10 in Baltimore, Maryland and will hit stadiums in 25 cities before winding down in mid-August. Support on the quartet's first North American trek since 2009 will come mainly from AVENGED SEVENFOLD and VOLBEAT, with GOJIRA taking over for the latter group for the last six shows.

METALLICA frontman James Hetfield recently said on the Nerdist podcast that the band will cap its live schedule starting in 2017 at around fifty shows a year. He explained: "My body has told me to tell these guys that fifty shows a year is kind of what we can do, so make the best of those."

"Hardwired... To Self-Destruct", METALLICA's first all-new studio effort in eight years, went to No. 1 in 58 countries, including the U.S., where it topped The Billboard 200 album chart.

SKYCLAD Release “Change Is Coming” Lyric Video

SKYCLAD Release “Change Is Coming” Lyric Video

Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK-based band, Skyclad, will release their 13th studio album, Forward Into The Past, on April 28th via Listenable Records. A lyric video for the album track, “Change Is Coming”, is available for streaming below.

“Change Is Coming” displays a series of actual images depicting the state of the world according to the band. It is shown as a TV breaking news to enhance the reality factor. The video was edited and directed by Fernando J. Martinez.

Kevin Ridley comments on the video: "When we first started discussing doing videos for the new Skyclad album with director/editor Fernando J. Martínez, we decided that didn't want to do 'typical' band videos and for “Change Is Coming” we wanted to do our own take on a 'lyric video’. The images help to show the extent of the problems humanity has created and our seeming inability to make much progress in tackling them and, indeed, some people's disregard for the consequences."

Since their inception, Skyclad have created songs out of a highly original and influential sound mixing heavy metal and traditional folk. Their lyrics have been generally permeated by political, social and environmental matters and the new album seems to be no exception as vocalist Kevin Ridley comments: "The songs are about politics, the environment and the music business and so on. These are mixed with the standard Skyclad fayre of traditional bawdy/drinking type of songs and songs with blues and more 'ethnic' feels."

Forward Into The Past artwork by Duncan Storr (who previously drew paintings for Edge Of Sanity, Rage and Hawking) displays the mesmerizing face of a man made out of trees and branches, as Kevin Ridley elaborates: “The 'green man' or 'storyteller' image used here is a traditional image (from Roman times at least in the UK) which is usually taken as 'showing the close interdependence between man and nature’.”

That natural feel is also largely expressed in the album production: "I think the new album sounds, warm, natural and 'real' (i.e. not processed or overproduced).”

Skyclad celebrates their grand return with Forward Into The Past on .

DRAGONFORCE Wrote 12-Minute

DRAGONFORCE Wrote 12-Minute 'Epic Song' In Response To Fan Requests

Kash of the "Moshpit" show, which airs on the SYN 90.7 radio station in Melbourne, Australia, recently conducted an interview with DRAGONFORCE guitarist Herman Li. You can now listen to the chat below.

Asked how DRAGONFORCE's forthcoming album, "Reaching Into Infinity", is musically different to the band's previous efforts, Herman said: "I would say it's a continuation of the last album, 'Maximum Overload'. DRAGONFORCE always try to evolve and continue evolving our sound. So I think it's a natural progression as the band kind of continues to go through every album. This is just, I would say, another step and another chapter to what we've been doing. We do have a few things that people haven't heard, of course, on it, so that's where the evolution comes from."

He continued: "A lot of fans have been asking, 'Hey, why don't you guys make this massive, long epic — you know, a fifteen-minute, twenty-minute, half-an-hour song?' So we haven't done a half-an-hour song, but we have done a really long, epic song that we have been thinking about, and we finally achieved it. So I think fans will be really happy to hear something like that — just to bring another big, epic DRAGONFORCE sound."

Regarding how technological advances have affected the DRAGONFORCE songwriting and recording process since the band's early years more than a decade ago, Li said: "[It's] not so much different, to be honest, because music… We record it using a computer into a hard drive, and the software we use to record the music is still very old. Because the new software doesn't make that much of a difference to music like us, because we're not playing electronic music. We mainly just record it, like a tape recording on it. So there's not so much difference for us."

"Reaching Into Infinity" will be released on May 19 via earMUSIC. The follow-up to 2014's "Maximum Overload" will mark the band's third full-length studio release with singer Marc Hudson, who joined the group in 2011 following the departure of original frontman ZP Theart (now in SKID ROW).

SAULT – KAMELOT Members Form New Side Band; Singles Streaming

SAULT – KAMELOT Members Form New Side Band; Singles Streaming

Sault is a new band featuring Kamelot members Sean Tibbetts (bass) and Casey Grillo (drums), along with Curtis Jay (guitars) and Riggs (vocals).

Sault was a creation formed by bassist Sean Tibbetts in 2014 and was originally going to be a solo album. The project soon morphed into Sault, a band that has created a truly unique style of music.

After looking for the right guitarist for quite some time Sean was introduced to guitarist Curtis Jay by long-time friend Bisquette Bewley while at a tattoo parlor. Curtis was asked to record on a few tracks for the Sault demo. The two instantly knew there was something special in the music they had just created and were driven to start on a journey that would soon lead to a full-length album.

Next was to find a singer that had a truly original quality in his voice and would fit the dark melodic melodies they were creating. Many talented singers were auditioned but none were quite what the two were looking for. After speaking with singer Kimberly Freeman of the band One Eyed Doll, Sean was referred to her friend Benjamin Riggs (Riggs). Sean contacted Riggs and asked if he would be interested in working on the project. Riggs wrote and recorded on the demo tracks and soon after hearing his truly unique vocal style was asked to be a member of the band.

Sean, being a member of the symphonic metal band Kamelot, asked his long-time friend and band mate, Casey Grillo, if he would be interested in recording the drum tracks on the Sault album. The two had held down the rhythm in Kamelot together for years and it was a natural fit.

Three singles are streaming on Sault’s official website.

STEVEN ADLER Can

STEVEN ADLER Can't Talk About His Reunion With GUNS N' ROSES Anymore

Former GUNS N' ROSES drummer Steven Adler says that he can no longer speak in detail about what it was like to finally perform with the band again for the first time in 26 years during the 2016 leg of the "Not In This Lifetime" tour.

Last month, Adler revealed that he was originally supposed to appear at more than just a handful of shows on the GUNS N' ROSES reunion trek. He told the "One On One With Mitch Lafon" podcast that he expected to sit behind the drum kit for all the "Appetite For Destruction" material during the entire tour, only to be told he was out after he hurt his back during rehearsals. "[Bassist] Duff [McKagan] called me and said, 'Dude, you're not gonna play with us anymore,'" Adler said. "'You're not gonna do these shows.' And I was, like, 'You're the worst fucking person in the world.'"

In a brand new interview with Rolling Stone, Adler declined to discuss specifics about what happened between him and GUNS N' ROSES. "I had the best experience last year playing with them last year," he said. "I wish Izzy [Stradlin, guitar] was there, but it was so great since I finally got to have some closure. It was wonderful. I don't have nothing else to say about it. I'm really sorry. That's all I can tell you. There's nothing to say. I literally, literally honest to god literally, I can't even tell you why I can't tell you any more. Literally, okay? I really can't. I just can't."

Adler appeared with GUNS N' ROSES onstage last November in Buenos Aires, Argentina, as well as on three separate occasions during the U.S. leg of the "Not In This Lifetime" tour last summer.

This marked Adler's first appearance with GUNS N' ROSES since 1990, although he performed with members of the band at their 2012 induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.

Speculation about Adler having some sort of involvement in the GUNS N' ROSES reunion has been rampant ever since the band made it official with a surprise April 1, 2016 show at The Troubadour in Los Angeles.

The regular GUNS N' ROSES drummer for several years has been Frank Ferrer, who is also part of the current lineup that boasts classic-GN'R members Axl Rose, Slash and McKagan.

Adler was thrown out of GUNS N' ROSES in 1990 due to his heavy drug use, a problem he struggled with for years after his dismissal.

ADRENALINE RUSH Streaming New Song “Stand My Ground”

ADRENALINE RUSH Streaming New Song “Stand My Ground”

The release of Adrenaline Rush’s second album, Soul Survivor, is set for April 21st. Following the successful release of the band’s 2014 self-titled debut album, Adrenaline Rush are now ready to unleash their next infectious slice of hard, sleaze, melodic rock on the rock 'n roll masses. The album track “Stand My Ground” is available for streaming below.

This time, blond bombshell vocalist Tåve Wanning mainly collaborated with Fredrik Folkare (Firespawn, Unleashed), who brought fresh influences to the table that fit very well with Tåve’s ideas. The music has evolved and grown beyond what appeared on the debut. It is still melodic and definitely has an 80’s flavour, but also is a bit more complex, darker, and heavier than the previous album. The production is edgier and the guitar work once again pristine. Erik Martensson (Eclipse (Sweden)) was once again involved as a sounding board, co-writing a song and mastering the finished tracks.

“I didn’t want to make another album just like the first one,” Tåve says. “I’ve grown since we recorded the first, I am in a different place. And I feel the album reflects that. The new tracks really complement the old instead of replacing them; they add a new dimension and gives us a broader spectrum of songs to choose from when playing live.”

The band has also seen some changes. Former members Ludvig and Soufian left the band to focus on other endeavours and have been replaced by Sam Soderlindh (lead guitar) and Joel Fox (bass). Sam is a new face to most, a young guitarist with fast fingers and a lot of potential. Joel, on the other hand, has been around for a while in bands like Dynazty and Siniestro. Alexander Hagman and Marcus Johansson complete the band’s line-up on guitar and drums respectively.

The band is set to perform a few club gigs in Sweden, before appearing at the 4th annual Frontiers Rock Festival in Milano, Italy, on April 30th.

"Hope to see you at a gig. Until then… enjoy the Rush!" encourages Tåve!

FOREIGNER’s KELLY HANSEN And JEFF PILSON Perform “Feels Like The First Time” On Nights With ALICE COOPER; Video

FOREIGNER’s KELLY HANSEN And JEFF PILSON Perform “Feels Like The First Time” On Nights With ALICE COOPER; Video

Kelly Hansen and Jeff Pilson of Foreigner dropped by the Nights With Alice Cooper studios to perform an acoustic version of their classic hit, “Feels Like The First Time”. Video footage of the performance can be seen below:

Foreigner are celebrating their 40th anniversary by bringing their friends along for a year-long celebration.

First up is a mammoth worldwide tour, set to launch in Syracuse, NY on July 11th. For the US shows presented by Live Nation, Foreigner will be alongside Rock & Roll Hall Of Famers Cheap Trick - who are also celebrating 40 years since the release of their self-titled debut album - and special guest Jason Bonham who will be bringing the music of Led Zeppelin to great night of rock ’n’ roll. Tickets available at livenation.com.

“I never could have imagined when I set out to create Foreigner forty years ago, that we’d still be touring around the world and performing the music we love all these years later,” says Mick Jones. “I can’t express the gratitude I feel when fans share stories of how our songs have been woven into their milestones and memories over the years. This summer we are going to celebrate these songs, and I can’t imagine a better group of friends to share this monumental tour with, than Cheap Trick and Jason Bonham who are sure to make it a true tribute to the everlasting power of rock and roll."

Inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2016, Cheap Trick is undoubtedly one of the most influential classic rock groups of the past 50 years. They have performed over 5,000 shows spanning four decades and have sold 20 million records worldwide. Cheap Trick formed in 1974 and while they have evolved throughout the years, the band continues to reach mainstream and critical success. Hits such as "I Want You To Want Me”, “Dream Police" and "Surrender" have cemented the group as one of America's top rock 'n' roll bands of all time. In 2016, Cheap Trick released its 17th studio collection, Bang Zoom Crazy…Hello

“I was thrilled to hear Mick Jones wanted me to be involved in celebrating 40 years of Foreigner. I spent 3 years as their drummer and had a great time," says Jason Bonham. "Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin Experience show will hit home run after home run with these timeless classics done to perfection. JBLZE started 7 years ago as a way to show my appreciation not only to my dad and the music of Led Zeppelin, but also to the fans themselves. With the amazing Cheap Trick along with the one and only Foreigner this is show not to be missed.”

To coincide with the tour, Foreigner - Mick Jones (lead guitar), Kelly Hansen (lead vocals), Jeff Pilson (bass, vocals), Tom Gimbel (rhythm guitar, sax, vocals), Michael Bluestein (keyboards), Bruce Watson (guitar) and Chris Frazier (drums) - will be releasing a celebratory 40th anniversary album that features forty Foreigner tracks throughout the years entitled 40 - Forty Hits From Forty Years (Rhino). This album is a comprehensive compilation of original hits and several tracks from the current lineup with Kelly Hansen on vocals including “Cant Slow Down”, “Too Late” and the Top 20 AC hit “When It Comes To Love”. The album also features two new songs, “The Flame Still Burns”, and “Give My Life For Love”, a brand new song by Jones. Rhino is kicking off a year-long catalog promotion with the January 24th picture disc release of Head Games.

Since the 1977 release of their first hit “Feels Like The First Time” and their self-titled debut album on Atlantic Records, Foreigner has been universally hailed as one of the world’s most popular rock acts with 10 multi-platinum albums, 16 Top 30 hits, and worldwide album sales exceeding 75 million.  Responsible for some of rock and roll’s most enduring anthems including “Juke Box Hero,” “Cold as Ice”, “Feels Like The First Time”, “Urgent”, “Head Games”, “Say You Will”, “Dirty White Boy”, “Long, Long Way From Home”, and the worldwide #1 hit, “I Want To Know What Love Is”, Foreigner continues to rock the charts more than thirty years into the game.

Recent albums like Juke Box Heroes, a new compilation of digitally recorded Foreigner hits, and The Best of Foreigner 4 & More, recorded live from The Borgata, Atlantic City, both entered the Billboard Top 200 chart. Foreigner also featured strongly in every category in Billboard's recently released Greatest Of All Time listing.  Catalog sales often eclipse those of Aerosmith, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Def Leppard, Van Halen and most of their Classic Rock peers (Source: Nielsen SoundScan 2/11/16 - 2/3/16).

Early PEARL JAM Drummer Has To Skip ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME Ceremony

Early PEARL JAM Drummer Has To Skip ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME Ceremony

According to The Pulse Of Radio, one of the former PEARL JAM drummers invited by the band to attend its induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame next month has indicated that he won't attend the ceremony. Matt Chamberlain, who played with the group in the early stages of the "Ten" touring cycle back in 1991 and appeared in the video for "Alive", said that work commitments will prevent him from attending the ceremony. He told Rolling Stone: "I'm so happy they are getting honored by the Hall Of Fame. They are good friends and total inspirations. I wish them all the best. Of course, I appreciate the shoutout."

Dave Abbruzzese, the drummer on the "Vs." and "Vitalogy" albums who has been the most vocal about being excluded from the induction, reposted PEARL JAM's invite on his Facebook page, seeming to indicate that he will likely attend. Reports that claimed he would not show up were deemed false.

Jack Irons, who played on the "No Code" and "Yield" albums and tours, has yet to issue a statement on the matter.

The only two drummers who will actually be inducted with the band are original stickman Dave Krusen and current drummer Matt Cameron.

Krusen, who played in PEARL JAM during its formative months and left shortly after the recording of its 1991 debut album "Ten", was asked if he would be up for jamming with his former bandmates at the Hall Of Fame ceremony in April. He told Rolling Stone: "I think the fans would dig that. I'd love to do it … I don't think it is likely, but I'm down."

PEARL JAM will be inducted alongside JOURNEY, Joan Baez, ELO, YES and Tupac Shakur at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on April 7.

An edited version of the 32nd annual Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction ceremony will later air on HBO and there will be a radio broadcast on SiriusXM.

Artists are eligible for the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame 25 years after the release of their first album or single.

HAREM SCAREM Present Audio Tease Of New Album United

HAREM SCAREM Present Audio Tease Of New Album United

Harem Scarem's 14th studio album, United, will be released on May 12th. The new recording offers up 11 tracks of trademark Harem Scarem music from Harry Hess (lead vocals, keyboards), Pete Lesperance (guitars, bass, keyboards), long-time drummer Creighton Doane, and backing vocals from original sticksman Darren Smith (who will be playing live drums for the band on tour dates). The band is back and stronger than ever.

Check out this just released 30-second audio teaser:

Frontman Harry Hess says: "This year will mark the 30th year of Harem Scarem and I can tell you that we are just as excited about writing and recording today as we were then. The brand new United album is one of the best collection of songs we have ever put on one release and I can't wait for everyone to hear it!"

Harem Scarem make it clear they still have something to say right from the start with the title track, "United", a chunky slice of guitar-driven melodic rock nirvana that kicks off their strongest studio outing since the early 00’s. From there, the album lifts off with well-crafted songs featuring big choruses with simple and addictive hook-laden earworms. Each track carries a power-rock-packed punch, swaggering riffs, and hooks to die for. Hess and Lesperance without a doubt show the world that their partnership still works, that they indeed are still "United".

With sales well over a million records in 43 countries and 12 top 40 hits around the globe, 2017 will see Harem Scarem return and ready to dominate while touring the world in support of their 14th studio album, United.

United tracklisting:

Spain’s THE WIZARDS Sign With Fighter Records; Announce Full Moon In Scorpio Album

Spain’s THE WIZARDS Sign With Fighter Records; Announce Full Moon In Scorpio Album

Spanish '70s hard and heavy rock band The Wizards have inked a deal with Fighter Records for the release of their second album, Full Moon In Scorpio, which will see the light on May 16th internationally.

Formed in Bilbao (Basque Country) back in 2013, these five outcasts decided to form a band after several intense sessions of drug abuse and hard liquor drinking marathons at backyard parties where the records of Black Sabbath, Danzig, The Cult, Blue Oyster Cult, Pentagram, Deep Purple, Dio, Horisont, and Electric Wizard were played so loud, neighbors would call the police sooner than expected.

In January 2014, The Wizards recorded their first demo, Plagues. With only four songs recorded and a bunch of covers, they were able to win the 26th edition of the local pop/rock contest Villa de Bilbao, and during 2015, they released their self-titled debut album through their own label, Witch Records, in collaboration with French label Geea Music.

The band played live in France, Basque Country, and Spain opening for legendary bands and artists such as The Dictators, Iggy Pop, and Turbonegro, sharing the stage with bands like Horisont, Peter Pan Speed Rock, and Hypnos among others. They were even invited to participate in festivals such as Madrid Stoner Scene Fest, Kriston Fest, and Faan Fest.

During April 2016, The Wizards entered Gaua Studio together with Brooklyn-based produced Dean Rispler, current bass-player for The Dictators. During two weeks, they recorded eight songs that form their upcoming second album, Full Moon in Scorpio, engineered by Asier Zubelbu and mixed & mastered by Jesse Cannon (The Cure, The Misfits, The Dillinger Escape Plan) at Cannon Found Soundation in Union City, New Jersey.

Full Moon In Scorpio contains eight tracks of hard & heavy rock attack, the lyrics dealing with such issues as the destruction of the veils that blind us, the vast concepts of space and time, the search for spiritual enlightenment, and so on. For the band, it truly means a step forward in their quest for world domination. The sound is bigger, the songs are better, and The Wizards are ready to destroy and fuck things up wherever their presence is needed. The western world is collapsing - let's dance over the fires while we howl at the Scorpio Moon.

The Wizards' Full Moon in Scorpio will be released May 16th through Fighter Records on CD and vinyl LP formats.

FAMOUS UNDERGROUND Welcome THE UNCHAINED Guitarist WOLFGANG VERBEKE To The Fold; Toronto Show Announced

FAMOUS UNDERGROUND Welcome THE UNCHAINED Guitarist WOLFGANG VERBEKE To The Fold; Toronto Show Announced

Toronto's Famous Underground, featuring former Slik Toxik frontman Nick Walsh, have welcomed guitarist Wolfgang Verbeke to the fold. Verbeke is known for his work with instrumental groove rock band The Unchained, and worked with Walsh previously in Revolver.

In addition, Famous Underground have announced a show for Toronto at The Rockpile on April 1st. Details are availailable below.

Famous Underground officially announce the release of their brand new digital 45, “Corrupted”. The digital 45 has two singles, Side A features their brand new song “Corrupted”, and the B Side is a mash up of Megadeth’s “Peace Sells” with Bob Marley’s “Get Up, Stand Up”.

“Corrupted” delivers energy and power; it’s definitely a track that gets the fists pumping. If you are listening to “Corrupted” while driving, Warning - keep your eye on the speedometer.

The tracks were mastered by Harry Hess of HBomb Mastering (Three Days Grace, Monster Truck, Madonna) and mixed by Daniel Tsourounis (Skullfist, Moxy).

Famous Underground decided to release “Corrupted” as a digital 45 as a way to engage with fans and new listeners on a more frequent basis. Like in the 50’s and 60’s, bands, like the Beatles and Stones released singles regularly before even packaging it as an album. Since people are not buying CDs as much these days, Famous Underground wanted to embrace the traditional and release two new tracks every couple of months.

Famous Underground chose to release Megadeth’s “Peace Sells” since they were already performing this at their live shows. The idea to meld "Get Up, Stand Up” with this track came to Nick while he was listening to Bob Marley. He felt the two songs would work well together because of their lyrical points of view.

The digital 45 is available now worldwide on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon Music, Google Play, iHeartRadio and Slacker to name a few.

KALOPSIA To Release Angelplague On HPGD Productions In May

KALOPSIA To Release Angelplague On HPGD Productions In May

New Jersey death metal derelicts Kalopsia will release their third album, Angelplague, on May 19th through Horror Pain Gore Death Productions.

Weaving together the blasting intensity of American death metal, Scandinavian  melodies and Jersey's home grown breakdowns, Angelplague is Kalopsia's most ferociously heavy effort to date. The relentless opener "Destined To Return" is a high-velocity foreshadowing of things to come, while "Christened Upon The Slab" and "Not Peace But Pestilence" focus on knuckle-dragging, head nodding groove. "Scorched Earth And Blackened Skies," the longest and most dynamic track on the album showcases frenzied fretwork and brutal groove before unleashing a dual-guitar hook that gets stuck in the listener's head with all the subtlety of a pick axe.

"We wanted to come out swinging," says guitarist Matt Medeiros. "Our last album was focused on speed and dexterity. This time we wanted bigger hooks, and bigger breakdowns."

Angelplague continues Kalopsia's horrific mutation, blending blasting brutality, pit-inducing ignorance, melodic guitar interplay and an old-school vibe to create a pestilential soundtrack to scorch the earth and blacken the skies. The album was produced by Bobby Torres at Frightbox Studios.

Tracklisting:

"Destined To Return"
"As The Serpent Devours"
"Christened Upon The Slab"
"Not Peace But Pestilence"
"Scorched Earth And Blackened Skies"
"Source Of My Evil"
"Surge Of Terror"
"Bitter Sacraments"

Christened Upon the Slab by Kalopsia

Kalopsia is:

Matt Medeiros - vocals, guitars
Justin Spaeth - drums
Drew Murphy - bass

"To go from recording a demo over a couple days in a sweaty jam space to putting out an LP on Prosthetic within a year and a half... it's just not something we could have realistically expected," remarks the band, "It's got our fingerprints all over it. If something was possible to do ourselves, we did it, down to mixing and artwork."

Tracklisting:

"As Above"
"Howling From The Grave"
"Weregild"
"Even The Sun Will Die"
"Relentless Death"
"Cerulean Abyss"
"Everlasting Lie"
"...And Smote His Ruin Upon The Mountainside"

"So Below"

Thematically, Strike Mortal Soil is about being alive and what that means in today's society. The band elaborated, "We live in a society both obsessed with and terrified of death. We exist in a world constantly seeking immortality through fame or Gods. Strike Mortal Soil means to live with a furious passion. It is to be able to enter one's grave like lightning, in rejection of eternity. It enforces the message that life has worth, not from your nationality, your land, your God or your flesh, but what you do with yourself."

HYBORIAN Streaming HYBORIAN: Volume I Album Ahead Of Friday’s Official Release

HYBORIAN Streaming HYBORIAN: Volume I Album Ahead Of Friday’s Official Release

Hyborian are streaming their debut album, Hyborian: Volume I, ahead of it’s official release tomorrow,  March 17th via Kansas City-based label The Company. The full stream can be found below, and the album is available for pre-order here. iTunes pre-orders receive the first single, "Maelstrom", as an instant grat track.

Volume I tracklisting:

“As Above, So Below”
“Maelstrom”
“Blood for Blood”
“Dead Lies Dreaming”
“Ajna”
“Dross”

Album stream:

As many parts stoner rock as it is retro-inspired and deliciously groovy, Hyborian's Hyborian: Volume I takes the listener on a ride that emits wall-shaking-levels of heaviness and lyrical fantasy, remaining engaging for any metal listener. Immense riffage, barrelling verses and piercing leads combine to create a sound that invites the listener to sit back and become fully-absorbed, when it isn't summoning involuntary elbow-throwing. Lyrically, the album's storytelling style is inspired by Robert E. Howard's Conan stories, but based on an interstellar, extra-dimensional cloaked being called The Traveller. Hyborian: Volume I tells his legends from the time before written language.

Lead vocalist Martin Bush discusses the roots of Hyborian's lyrical inspiration, "I grew up reading pretty much anything I could get my hands on, which included me raiding my dad's book collection. He had a ton of classic sci-fi and fantasy, from Asimov and Heinlan to Howard and Cooper. Because of that, this writing style comes very naturally to me."

He further explains, "Basically The Traveller is a being that exists outside of humanity's understanding of space and time. He is the source of all life in the universe, but is not omnipresent. He wanders the cosmos, visiting and recording times of great strife or hardship, great suffering or great triumph.  We are his chosen mouthpiece on Earth, so we relate those stories, whether from far in the past or far in the future. For instance, "Maelstrom" is the story of a mountaintop battle between a being who has just achieved a higher consciousness in the midst of a scuffle with a sentient storm. In order to defeat the creature in the storm, he expends his newfound powers and gives up his life. We are also pretty into cryptography, so there are several hidden messages on the album from The Traveller if the listener is clever enough to find them."

When a band says they built their sound from the ground up, they normally don't mean it literally. Once again, Hyborian prove individuality in this department, as Hyborian: Volume I was recorded at the band's own studio that they built themselves and eventually began also using as a rehearsal space. The album was then mixed by Justin Mantooth at Westend Studios (Radkey, Family, Godmaker) and mastered by Nick Zampiello at New Alliance East (The Red Chord, Torche, Trap Them).

Bush says that recording on the band's own terms, in their own space, really helped them achieve their best product: "We decided to build our own space to record simply because it cost us about what it would have cost to track at a decent studio, but now we have a home base to make record after record after record. The art of crafting an album as opposed to a group of songs is somewhat lost, or at least relegated to the realms of people with incredibly deep pockets, so being able to really play around and do all the extra stuff that makes an album an album was really important to us."

Since forming in 2015, Hyborian has performed as support for the likes of Iron Reagan, Power Trip, Mothership, Acid King, Mutoid Man, Tweak Bird, Vektor, Whores and many others. The band will once again give fans a chance to witness their live assault this month during their Midwestern U.S. tour. The run will feature varying support acts in each city. EVANESCENCE

EVANESCENCE's AMY LEE Releases New Song 'Speak To Me' From The Film 'Voice From The Stone'

EVANESCENCE frontwoman Amy Lee has unveiled her new single, "Speak To Me", the end title theme from the forthcoming suspense/drama "Voice From The Stone". "Game Of Thrones"' Emilia Clarke stars in the film alongside Marton Csokas, Caterina Murino, Remo Girone, Lisa Gastoni and Edward Dring.

Directed by Eric Howell and scored by Michael Wandmacher, the haunting thriller set in 1950s Tuscany is due July 24. USA Today premiered the movie trailer on Tuesday, which can be viewed below. As a prelude, Lee shared an intro video to the track on her YouTube channel last April. Captured during the recording of the song at legendary Skywalker Ranch, the piece gives us a glimpse inside the process, with the gorgeous piano of "Speak To Me" as the backdrop. A few exclusive clips are also included, providing fans with a preview into the movie. "Speak To Me" is available for download on iTunes, Amazon and Google Play, and streaming on Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music Unlimited.

Lee has a message for her fans about the film and her creative process behind the song and its accompanying video: "I'm very excited to share a new song which I was asked to create as the end title for the forthcoming film 'Voice From The Stone', which stars the incredibly talented and captivating Emilia Clarke. The song is called 'Speak To Me'. "There are many reasons why I felt inspired to work on this project.

"'Voice From The Stone' tells the haunting story of Verena, a nurse who is asked to aid a young boy who has fallen silent after the sudden passing of his mother. Verena is brought in to help him speak again.

"As a new mother myself, the film resonated very deeply with me. I had the opportunity to work closely with Eric Howell, who directed the film, and Michael Wandmacher, who composed the score.

"I was very moved by the movie, and after having my first conversation with Eric and Michael, I felt a surge of inspiration and immediately began writing.

"It is a rare phenomenon to really share a creative vision so completely, and that made for a very powerful experience, and an end result that I am very proud of.” "It was an honor to be able to work with Eric on the music video as well, which was shot in Sienna, Italy, at the same beautiful location as the film.

"We conceived the video as a parallel and backstory to the film, which explores the strong bond of love between Malvina and her son, and the belief that love is stronger than death." Amy Lee is currently in the studio with EVANESCENCE working on new music, to be released later this year.

AS LIONS Feat. BRUCE DICKINSON

AS LIONS Feat. BRUCE DICKINSON's Son AUSTIN: 'One By One' Video

The official video for the song "One By One" from AS LIONS, the British rock outfit fronted by Austin Dickinson — the son of IRON MAIDEN singer Bruce Dickinson — can be seen below. The track is taken from the band's debut full-length album, "Selfish Age", which was released on January 20 via Better Noise Records.

Filmed underground in Manchester, and with the metal five-piece's rip-roaring performance at its heart, the video's narrative conveys the themes of metamorphous, shedding your skin and ultimately embracing who you really are.

"One By One" comes ahead of AS LIONS' London headline show at the Boston Arms Music Rooms on March 22, with support coming from BRUTAI and SHADOWS INTO LIGHT. This special date in the capital serves as the perfect warm-up for their upcoming string of U.S. shows across April and May with the likes of SHINEDOWN, NOTHING MORE, I PREVAIL and P.O.D. AS LIONS is also confirmed for its first U.K. festival appearance of the year at Bristol's Fat Lip Festival in July with YOUNG GUNS. The band will also be playing a number of European and U.S. festivals, including Rock Am Ring, Rock Im Park, Graspop Metal Meeting, Rock On The Range and Northern Invasion. "Selfish Age" is the follow-up to AS LIONS' debut EP, "Aftermath", released last year. Helmed by award-winning producer David Bendeth (OF MICE & MEN, PARAMORE, BRING ME THE HORIZON) and Kane Churko (FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, DISTURBED, IN THIS MOMENT), "Selfish Age" is an illustration of the band's mission to create "the biggest, baddest hard rock we could, and on an almost cinematic scale." The album's 11 dynamic tracks are a study in contrasts, with the epic and evocative "Aftermath", the crushing "Deathless", which targets the Internet culture's obsession with image, "Bury My Dead", a hard-hitting personal statement complemented by stately piano tinklings, and the electro-tinged title track, "Selfish Age".

Comprised of Dickinson, guitarist and keyboardist Conor O'Keefe, guitarist Will Homer, bassist Stefan Whiting and drummer Dave Fee, AS LIONS are the evolution of British rock.

"Selfish Age" track listing:

01. Aftermath02. The Suffering03. Bury My Dead04. Deathless 05. Selfish Age06. White Flags07. Pieces08. World On Fire09. One By One10. The Fall11. The Great Escape

AS LIONS was formed after the breakup of Austin's previous band, RISE TO REMAIN, which released one album, "City Of Vultures", in 2011.

KOBRA AND THE LOTUS Releases New Song

KOBRA AND THE LOTUS Releases New Song 'You Don't Know'

"You Don't Know", a brand new song from Canadian hard rockers KOBRA AND THE LOTUS, can be streamed below. The track is taken from the band's new album, "Prevail I", which will be released on May 12 via Napalm Records. The disc was produced by Jacob Hansen (VOLBEAT, AMARANTHE, EPICA) and mastered by Grammy Award-winning engineer Ted Jensen.

Frontwoman Kobra Paige states about "You Don't Know": "To be alive brings many great things, but among those things includes great suffering. It's painful to feel backed into a corner, judged, misunderstood for who we really are. We can never really know a person until we have seen their point of view, crawled into their skin, and walked a mile in their shoes, but that will never happen. This is the anthem for the man, the woman, the human, navigating their life the best way they can. After all, 'You don't know what it's like to be me!'"

"Prevail I" track listing:

Kobra previously stated about the story of "Prevail I", the band's most ambitious effort to date: "When we are born, we are innocent, pure, and unshaped. This mandala signifies a human at the beginning of its journey. Unscathed and beautiful, the mandala is each and every one of us. As this album unfolds, you will notice it's more than just music. 'Prevail I' is a story of visceral truth and I believe, if we're really being honest with ourselves, everyone will find their story within it. After all, the battles may differ, but we all started as the same mandala and we are more relatable than we'd like to admit. Our only wish is that you may enjoy the freaking crap out of this album and find comfort in realizing you're not alone."

Evolution is inevitable and KOBRA AND THE LOTUS has delivered its most powerful album to date, "Prevail I", with "Prevail II" to complete the story in the not-too-distant future.

Led by Kobra Paige, KOBRA AND THE LOTUS has been making a name for itself worldwide since 2010 with extensive touring and three well-received albums.

KOBRA AND THE LOTUS is loaded with exquisite precision, heavy emotion, vocal brilliance and grand-scale dynamics, highlighting the glories of classic heavy metal and rock. Known for their exceptionally strong live shows, they proudly carry the flag for all metal/hard rock fans.

KOBRA AND THE LOTUS is:

Frontiers Music Srl will release "Saint Of The Lost Souls", the tenth studio album from HOUSE OF LORDS, on March 24. The song "New Day Breakin'", taken from "Saint Of The Lost Souls", can be streamed below. Recorded and produced by the band's singer and mastermind James Christian, the follow-up to 2015's "Indestructible" has an incredible flow of up-tempo and mid-tempo rockers mixed with power ballads, which lean a bit more toward keyboards this time around, but without compromising the band's trademark sound which is based around Jimi Bell's guitar. "Saint Of The Lost Souls" is already one of the year's most anticipated melodic rock releases and will not disappoint fans of the band or genre. James Christian's well-crafted and smooth vocals bring the band's songwriting to new heights. Guitarist Jimi Bell is on fire and the melodic riffs throughout the album will leave you breathless. A new addition on bass is Chris Tristram, who is no stranger to the rock community. His solid performance adds another dimension to the sound and BJ Zampa brings a solid and powerful rhythm foundation to HOUSE OF LORDS. The band has toured relentlessly in Europe and the States in support of their releases and has now become a true staple of the hard rock scene on both continents.

HOUSE OF LORDS stands for superb hooks and majestic atmospheres that bring back the memories of their stellar debut album, monumental guitar riffs and a production to die for.
