ASKING ALEXANDRIA's DANNY WORSNOP Releases Video For 'Prozac' Solo SongDanny Worsnop, the newly returned frontman for U.K. metalcore pioneers ASKING ALEXANDRIA, will release his debut solo album, "The Long Road Home", on February 17 via the U.K.-based independent label Earache Records. The effort marks a slight musical departure from his previous work with ASKING ALEXANDRIA, now forging a deeper and often darker path through the British-born, Nashville-based musician's mind and displaying a truly stunning singing voice only hinted at in his previous work.
The official video for the track "Prozac", filmed at the Lattitude Studio South in Tennessee, can be seen below.
Longtime fans will see a much more personal and reflective side of Danny's, with brutally honest lyrical themes ranging from loss and heartache to Danny's past (and often public) struggles with drugs and alcohol. Backed by authentic, blues-soaked outlaw country, the album is also interspersed with a few more upbeat tracks, showing that Danny's ability to craft catchy melodies which will have listeners singing along in no time is still very much alive and well.
Worsnop comments: "It has been an emotional roller-coaster creating these songs, but the end result has left me humbled, proud, and more excited about a project than I ever have been in my life.
"Writing as deep and personal as I have on this record brought up a lot inside me from my years, allowing me to grow and move on from demons I didn't even acknowledge having.
"I've done everything in my power to keep this album honest and pure, and it gives me chills every time I hear it. I'm beyond proud of what I've made and cannot wait to share it with the world. These songs are a reflection of my soul, and I hope you all enjoy them. See you on the other side!"
"The Long Road Home" is available to pre-order now on limited-edition signed CD and colored vinyl, along with a range of merch bundles.
"The Long Road Home" track listing:
01. Prozac02. Mexico03. I Feel Like Shit04. Anyone But Me05. High06. I Got Bones07. Quite A While08. Don't Overdrink It09. I'll Hold On10. Midnight Woman11. Same Old Ending12. The Man

JUDAS PRIEST's ROB HALFORD: We're 'Trying To Go To Places, Musically, That We Haven't Done Yet'Last month, Shawn SixX of Boston's WZLX radio station conducted an interview with JUDAS PRIEST singer Rob Halford. You can now listen to the chat using the widget below. A couple of excerps follow (transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET).
On JUDAS PRIEST's biggest hurdle going forward:
Rob: "Well, putting the notes in a different order. [Laughs] Because, let's face it, I've been doing this now for over forty years of my life, and I know that's what it's all about. This is about trying to display an idea from a different perspective, a different angle that has not yet been done before. And it's extremely challenging, particularly when you're as microscopic as PRIEST are. We've never kind of thrown things together. Sometimes we've got lucky, you know — 'Living After Midnight', 'Breaking The Law'. I would say the bulk of the work that we've made over the years has been a labor of love. So that's where we're at now — really trying to touch places, go to places, musically, that we haven't done yet."
On whether he still feels writing the best songs is the most important thing for a new hard rock and heavy metal band:
Rob: "Yeah, I do. I think that particularly in today's really kind of hustling and bustling metal world, you've just really gotta work hard, you've really gotta try and find an edge, find a direction, find something that makes people go, 'Hey, what is that? What is that riff? What is that melody? What is that hook? That's pretty cool.' And it's easier said than done, but that's the tenacity, that's the determination, that's the real power that you've gotta try and find within yourself to make a spark that nobody else has made."
JUDAS PRIEST is preparing to enter the studio to begin recording its long-awaited follow-up to 2014's "Redeemer Of Souls" album.
Halford said last year that JUDAS PRIEST wasn't interested in making "a 'Redeemer Of Souls Part Two'." He explained: "I think it's very important that we make another stand-alone record again, a heavy metal record that's going to have its own legs and just be as different as all of them have been so far."
"Redeemer Of Souls" was released in July 2014. The follow-up to 2008's double-disc concept album "Nostradamus" was billed as a return to JUDAS PRIEST's heavy-metal roots.
"Redeemer Of Souls" sold around 32,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 6 on The Billboard 200 chart.
JUDAS PRIEST's tenth studio album, "Turbo", was recently remastered and was released via Sony Music on February 3 on three CDs (the original album and two bonus discs) as well as one-LP 150-gram vinyl. Included on disc 2 and 3 of the CD reissue is, previously unreleased, "Live in Kansas City", a live recording from the band's 1986 "Fuel For Life" tour in support of "Turbo". 7

CHILDREN OF BODOM Frontman: 'Total Silence Freaks Me Out'Banger TV's Daniel Dekay recently conducted an interview with vocalist/guitarist Alexi Laiho of Finnish metallers CHILDREN OF BODOM. You can now watch the chat below. A couple of excerpts follow (transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET).
On the title of CHILDREN OF BODOM's latest album, 2015's "I Worship Chaos":
Alexi: "At first it was just a songtitle. Then I started thinking about it, like, 'What am I saying with this shit?' It makes perfect sense for me, 'cause I'm kind of a dude that I'm a very restless person. For example, total silence freaks me out; there always has to be something going on. It's scary, dude. It is. When I go to sleep, there always has to be something… That's the funny part of it, though. Okay, 'I Worship Chaos' sounds very strong, but it can also mean that I just need to have fucking 'Seinfeld' in the background when I go to sleep. But total fucking silence, dude, I cannot… It scares me. Therefore, chaos around me sort of makes me feel comfortable. And I just the pitched the songtitle to the other guys, and they were, like, 'That's pretty fucking strong. So that could be an album title,' which I agreed. It's pretty in your face."
On why performing live is so important to a band like CHILDREN OF BODOM:
Alexi: "We just love playing live, and that's what CHILDREN OF BODOM's always been about. Since Day One, we've been touring so fucking much — like, non-stop. And I love being on the road. I mean, all of us, we kind of grew up on the road. We were just kids when we started. We were seventeen and eighteen years old when we started, so I don't really know any other way to live. I would be so lost if all of a sudden I had to stop touring completely. I don't see us slowing down. As long as the band's together, I think we're always gonna be touring."
CHILDREN OF BODOM will perform most of its debut album, "Something Wild", on a European tour later this year to celebrate the record's twentieth anniversary. The month-long trek, dubbed "20 Years Down & Dirty", will kick off on March 8 in Hanover, Germany and conclude on April 4 in Stockholm, Sweden.
CHILDREN OF BODOM recently embarked on a 21-date North American tour with special guests iconic black metal artist ABBATH, California-based metal act EXMORTUS, and Canada's progressive metallers ONI. The trek commenced in Quebec on November 23 and concluded in Brooklyn on December 19. 7

STEVEN TYLER's Super Car Raises $800K For CharityA rare sports car from the personal collection of Steven Tyler has been auctioned, raising $800,000 for his Janie's Fund, a philanthropic partnership with Youth Villages.
Tyler and his "car for a cause" were one of the biggest draws at the auction by Barrett-Jackson, "The World's Greatest Collector Car Auction," at Westworld in Scottsdale, Arizona. The black 2012 Hennessey Venom GT was one of only 12 produced, the convertible version of the "fastest street-legal car." Tyler was on the stage and fifteen thousand were in the arena audience as the auctioneer chanted the bid. The auction was broadcast live on Velocity TV. To sweeten the deal, the rocker threw in a vacation stay at his Hawaii home and a guitar autographed by AEROSMITH band members. The car sold for $800,000, with all proceeds going to Janie's Fund.
"We raised enough tonight to provide 20,000 days of therapeutic support to abused girls across America," Tyler said. "I want to thank Barrett-Jackson and the thousands of my fans who have been drawn to this cause this year. As a father to three daughters, a son, and now a grandfather, it broke my heart to learn that each year in America alone, 700,000 children are victims of serious abuse or neglect, and 68,000 will be sexually abused. Together through Janie's Fund, we're helping girls rebuild their lives and overcome the trauma they experienced."
Youth Villages CEO Patrick Lawler joined Tyler on stage as the car sold. "Everyone knows Steven as a rock star, but we know him as one of the world's most caring and compassionate people, a leading child advocate committed to helping girls who have suffered abuse," Lawler said. "One in five girls report abuse before their 18th birthday, and we think the actual incidents of abuse are much higher. Steven is giving his big voice to girls who have lost theirs."
At the end of its first year, an outpouring of support from donors across 38 countries had raised more than $1.9 million for Janie's Fund, allowing Youth Villages to directly help more than 300 girls. In December, Tyler was honored at the UN Ambassadors Ball, receiving the 2016 Humanitarian Award from the Hospitality Committee for United Nations Delegations.
Tyler's concern for this issue dates back to the 1980s when he was in a program for his own recovery. Hearing the personal accounts of women who had experienced incredibly painful and debilitating abuse as children, he saw how the abuse put them on a path of suffering, post-traumatic stress and other disorders that eventually led to substance problems. It was their plight that inspired Tyler to compose the song "Janie's Got A Gun".
Tyler recently released a country album "We're All Somebody from Somewhere", which debuted at number one on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart and at the top of the iTunes country downloads. Tyler and AEROSMITH have sold more than 150 million records worldwide; he has won four Grammy Awards, six American Music Awards, four Billboard Music Awards and an Emmy Award. In addition to having nine number one hits, 25 gold, 18 platinum and 12 multi-platinum album certifications, Tyler, along with the rest of his band members, were inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2001. Tyler and his songwriting partner Joe Perry were named to the Songwriters Hall Of Fame in 2013.
Youth Villages is a private nonprofit organization that helps more than 22,000 of America's most vulnerable children and families each year in 13 states and Washington, D.C. Youth Villages has been recognized by Harvard Business School and U.S. News & World Report, and was identified by The White House as one of the nation's most promising results-oriented nonprofit organizations. 1

CHRIS BARNES On His 1995 Split With CANNIBAL CORPSE: 'I Just Didn't Like Being Around Them'On Friday, February 3, El Prezidente of "The Chainsaw Symphony" radio program conducted an interview with former CANNIBAL CORPSE and current SIX FEET UNDER frontman Chris Barnes. You can now listen to the chat using the SoundCloud widget below.
Asked about the possibility of SIX FEET UNDER and CANNIBAL CORPSE one day touring together, Chris said: "That would be a tough one to put together, my friend. [Laughs] You wouldn't have any problems from my side of things, but I don't think other people would be agreeable to that."
He continued: "I don't think there's animosity [between us]. I think there's just protecting other people's feelings. I think that everyone knows certain things about everything and they'd like to see things a certain way, and that wouldn't portray things a certain way that they would wanna portray them. So… I'm being very general and trying to be diplomatic about it."
Barnes also talked about the circumstances behind his departure from CANNIBAL CORPSE in 1995, one year after the release of the band's "The Bleeding" album. He said: "I just didn't like being around them, because I was being ridiculed, and I just didn't feel comfortable being in the same room with people that weren't very nice to me personally. And I was part of that too, so we had all of our own type of differences, personally, and I don't think it was gonna be able to be worked out. You know, mutual respect goes a far way when it comes to being in close quarters with people."
He continued: "I'm sure we'd do things differently [today] — I mean, I know we would. It's just the way things worked out. And I don't have any animosity towards those guys at all, and I don't think they do towards me. It's just that… It would be too confusing for things [if we were to tour together], I think, from their perspective."
Barnes added: "I'd do anything. I just like to see a lot of people out there with smiles on their faces; that's the only thing that's important to me, man. Like, seriously, if I see a big crowd of people that everyone's smiling, like, 'Oh, yeah! This is what we've been waiting for,' I'm ready then, man. If I see a small room of people that are just fired up to go, man, it just gets me going on stage, you know. And that's all I'm there for — that feeling, that sharing of energy, man. And I'll go for it any which way to get that any way I can with any person I can get it with. And if it gets to that means to an end, that's all that's important, man — that transference. And some people just don't see it that way, man, and it's cool.
"I'm not gonna be mean to anybody, and I never wanted to be. I'm my own person, and sometimes I'm put at fault for that, and I think we all are in our own way. And that's just life; those are the things we deal with as people."
After Barnes left CANNIBAL CORPSE to form SIX FEET UNDER, he was replaced in the former band by George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher.
SIX FEET UNDER's twelfth studio album, "Torment", will be released on February 24 via Metal Blade. The disc was brought to life by Barnes with bassist/guitarist Jeff Hughell (BRAIN DRILL) shouldering the load of writing the music, along with heralded drummer Marco Pitruzzella (BRAIN DRILL, ANOMALOUS, SLEEP TERROR).
SIX FEET UNDER's new album was mixed by Chris "Zeuss" Harris and was previously described by Barnes as "the most brutally intense, groove-laden masterpiece we've ever put together!" 13

OBITUARY: Lyric Video For New Song 'Turned To Stone'The official lyric video for "Turned To Stone", a brand new song from Florida death metal veterans OBITUARY, can be seen below. The track is taken from the band's self-titled, tenth studio album, which will be released on March 17 via Relapse.
Picking up where 2014's "Inked In Blood" left off, OBITUARY show no signs of slowing down as they continue to reign as kings of death metal. Recorded at the band's home studio in Tampa, "Obituary" is a ten-track tour de force of bone-pulverizing death metal that is as heavy, uncompromising and infectious as anything they've released in the group's historic, nearly 30-year career.
"Obituary" track listing:
01. Brave02. Sentence Day03. Lesson In Vengeance04. End It Now05. Kneel Before Me06. It Lives07. Betrayed08. Turned To Stone09. Straight To Hell10. Ten Thousand Ways To Die
The cover art was created by Andreas Marschall and can be seen below.
Commented OBITUARY vocalist John Tardy: "When writing records the song titles and album titles are always the last things on our minds. We know that the songs themselves are the most important thing, so with this our tenth studio album and nearly three decades as a band, we thought it was the perfect time for a self-titled release. It always helps to have a killer album cover so we worked with Andreas Marschall, gave him our ideas and thoughts and asked him to break out the big guns to create an epic logo and he delivered like he always has for OBITUARY." Added the band in a collective statement: "We could not be any more excited about this new album. We had a blast writing and recording it and having Ken [Andrews, guitar] and Terry [Butler, bass] as part of the writing process was a very cool experience for all of us.
"We really took our time with the writing process of these new songs, recording riffs and ideas as we went along and recording them as rough mixes then listening back and making necessary changes to help mold them into the songs that we are extremely proud of. "It's always a challenge in the studio to get the song ideas out of your head onto the recording the way you want but we made sure we were comfortable with the songs and the sounds we were getting before we even hit the record button and it made it a great experience.
"It's hard to believe it's been two and a half years since the release of 'Inked In Blood' and we are so excited to get this new album into the hands of our fans.
"Can't wait for everyone to hear it. Hang on to your ass!!!!"
OBITUARY will hit the road this spring as part of the 2017 Decibel Magazine Tour with KREATOR, HORRENDOUS and MIDNIGHT. The tour kicks off on March 17 in Charlotte, North Carolina and runs through April 15 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Video: THE PRETTY RECKLESS Performs In Munich, GermanyFan-filmed video footage of THE PRETTY RECKLESS's February 3 concert at Backstage Werk in Munich, Germany can be seen below.
THE PRETTY RECKLESS recently broke a record set by 3 DOORS DOWN and has seen its first four mainstream singles hit No. 1 on Billboard's rock chart. The band's new song, "Take Me Down", topped the chart, following in the footsteps of "Heaven Knows", "Messed Up World" and "Follow Me Down" from 2014's "Going To Hell" album. That broke the group's tie with 3 DOORS DOWN and put them in a position to tie or break the next record, five No. 1 singles, which is owned for now by Canada's THREE DAYS GRACE.
THE PRETTY RECKLESS also now have the most No. 1 singles by a female-fronted rock act.
"Take Me Down" is from the band's third studio set, "Who You Selling For", which arrived on October 21.
THE PRETTY RECKLESS singer Taylor Momsen told Yahoo! Music about the musical direction of the band's new album: "It wasn't intentional to go all over the place with this record, but when [guitarist] Ben Phillips and I were writing, we tried really hard not to limit ourselves. As soon as you put any limitations on yourself as a writer, you're immediately stunting yourself. So nothing was off the table. The reason we love rock 'n' roll so much is it represents freedom and it really does encompass everything. Rock 'n' roll is everything — it's the blues, it's jazz, it's funk, it's country, it's pop. It's all those things, so you can go in so many different directions and it's still rock 'n' roll."
Asked what the greatest challenge was that THE PRETTY RECKLESS faced making "Who You Selling For", Taylor said: "Challenges come up along the way. It starts from the beginning. The writing process is always the most torturous, but it's also the most rewarding. It takes the longest and it's the hardest because these songs are coming from your own head and you never know when an idea is going to come. But when we finish a good song, there is no better feeling. The next challenge is taking it to the band and figuring out where the song is going to take us when we're playing as a full band and where the recording is going to go. It's all torture and then complete and utter bliss. But it's all cathartic as well. The ups and downs are necessary to create good art."

BUSH To Release 'Black And White Rainbows' Album In MarchBUSH will release its new album, "Black And White Rainbows", on March 10. Lead single "Mad Love" can be heard now on Spotify and is available as an instant download by pre-ordering the disc on iTunes.
Written, recorded and produced by Gavin Rossdale, "Black And White Rainbows" is the follow-up to 2014's "Man On The Run" and will arrive just prior to BUSH's headlining tour of North America, which kicks off May 4 in Dallas, Texas.
March will also see the live television premiere performance of "Mad Love" on the U.K. version of the popular singing reality show "The Voice", where Gavin currently serves as a coach along with will.i.am, Tom Jones and Jennifer Hudson.
Among "Black And White Rainbows"'s highlights is the propulsive "Dystopia", the sweeping chorus of "Lost In You" and "People At War", which was written last summer in honor of World Refugee Day, followed by a People premiere for the song's companion video (directed by Jesse Davey), which is particularly poignant given recent events.
Gavin stated about "People At War": "Having seen the footage of innocent refugees forced to flee their homes and lives, culminating in the picture of the young boy, Aylan Kurdi, lying dead on the shore — the horror of that photograph, as a father, as a human being — was too powerful to avoid. It was the catalyst to write this song and to show empathy with the plight of the refugees.
"We stand #WithRefugees. Stand with us."
When asked about the sound of the follow-up to 2014's "Man On The Run", the 51-year-old rocker told Metro: "My whole career I've been trying to make music that's a hybrid of rock and electronic. I'd say it's a textured, approachable and commercial record. People are going to fucking love it."
"Black And White Rainbows" track listing:
01. Mad Love02. Peace-s03. Water04. Lost In You05. Sky Turns Day Glo06. Toma Mi Corazon07. All The Worlds Within You 08. Nurse09. The Beat of Your Heart10. Dystopia11. Ray Of Light12. Ravens13. Nothing But A Car Chase14. The Edge of Love15. People At War
"Man On The Run" was released in October 2014. It followed up BUSH's 2011 comeback effort, "The Sea Of Memories", which was the first all-new BUSH album in a decade.
BUSH is comprised of Gavin Rossdale (vocals/guitar), Robin Goodridge (drums), Chris Traynor (guitar) and Corey Britz (bass). 1

BLACK SABBATH: Official Video Footage Of Final Song And BowBLACK SABBATH ended its nearly five-decade touring career Saturday night (February 4) with a two-hour concert at the NEC Arena in the band's hometown of Birmingham, England.
The show at the NEC Arena saw the heavy metal legends play fifteen songs, including set closer "Paranoid".
Ticker tape and balloons fell as SABBATH singer Ozzy Osbourne thanked fans for fifty years of support.
"Thank you. Good night. Thank you so much," Osbourne said as he and his bandmates left the stage. Guitarist Tony Iommi gave a thumbs-up as he waved goodbye to the cheering crowd.
SABBATH's official YouTube channel has now been updated with better-quality video footage of the final song of the band's concert and the subsequent bow. Check it out below.
Iommi said last fall that he wouldn't rule out the possibility of doing one-off shows with SABBATH in the future. He explained: "I wouldn't write that off, if one day that came about. That's possible. Or even doing an album, 'cause then, again, you're in one place. But I don't know if that would happen."
SABBATH's "The End" tour was its last because Iommi, who was diagnosed with cancer in 2012 and is currently in remission, can no longer travel for extended amounts of time. He admitted: "It was only when I got ill, that's when I stated getting vulnerable. Before that, I could do anything… And they're going, 'You shouldn't be flying, really.' And, 'You shouldn't be doing this, you shouldn't be doing that.' So that's what brought that about — the end of this, really, because the constant touring does eventually get to you."
SABBATH wrote and recorded its 2013 reunion album, "13", and toured it all over the world while Iommi was going through treatment for his illness, with the guitarist having to fly back to England every six weeks.
Asked what he'll do after SABBATH, Iommi replied, "I'm wondering, because it's gonna be such a weird thing, because BLACK SABBATH's always been my life, ever since day one, and everything's fell by the wayside to BLACK SABBATH — all the marriages and everything — over the band, basically, because I'm always out working and always doing this, always in the studio. So it's gonna be pretty weird, that last show."
The original lineup of SABBATH came together in 1969 with Osbourne on vocals, Iommi on guitar, Geezer Butler on bass and Bill Ward on drums. That lineup recorded and toured through 1978, and periodically reformed through the '90s and 2000s for live work.
They regrouped again in late 2011 for a new album and tour, although Ward dropped out after just a few months. SABBATH has used singer Ozzy Osbourne's regular touring drummer Tommy Clufetos since then for live work. RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE's Brad Wilk laid down the drum tracks on "13", which came out in June 2013. 17

BLACK LABEL SOCIETY Guitarist DARIO LORINA Reveals Tracklisting For Second Instrumental AlbumShrapnel Records will release Black Label Society guitarist Dario Lorina’s second instrumental album, Death Grip Tribulation, on February 24th.
Dario's new album is a powerful show of songwriting infused with shred guitar, vintage modern influence, and a richly musical band consisting of longtime musical partner Dan "D.C." Conway (drums), Black Label Socieety band mates John "J.D." DeServio (bass) and Jeff Fabb (drums), along with former Lizzy Borden bandmate Marten Andersson (bass). It also features a song with Motörhead guitarist Phil Campbell. Engineered and mixed by Fred Archambault, known for his work with Alice Cooper and Avenged Sevenfold, among others, this effort is a sheer embodiment of this high caliber guitarist's vast skill set.
Says Shrapnel's Mike Varney: "Death Grip Tribulations makes it clear that Dario Lorina has become a force to be reckoned with, as at 27 years of age, he draws from experience far beyond his years, creating a collection of songs built on forceful rhythms, strong melodies and an arsenal of advanced guitar chops."
Lorina began his professional career in 2006 at age 16 as the touring guitarist with the late Jani Lane (Warrant). At age 19, he joined veteran metal act Lizzy Borden, whom he toured with for four years.
Dario released his first instrumental record on Shrapnel in September 2013. In January 2014, he joined Black Label Society and has since been touring worldwide with Zakk Wylde, performing on both guitar and keys, most recently on Wylde's Book Of Shadows II tour.
You can pre-rrder Death Grip Tribulations through iTunes, Amazon, and personally signed CDs direct from DarioLorina.com.

YAYLA Release Pas.to.rale Album; Full Stream AvailablePas.to.rale, the fifth full length album from Turkish ambient black metal nihilists, Yayla, is out now via Merdümgiriz Records.
Five years after the last album, one of the heaviest fusions of ambient and metal has returned. The band have departed from the monotonous Yayla sound of the now cult trilogy. Pas.to.rale is very dynamic but more oppressive and hypnotic than before. Razorsharp guitars and velvet bass mixed with full range vocals and epic synths to create poems of nihilism. The lyrics are the continuation of the spiritual journey of the last Blighted album in creating a more decrepit outlook on the absurd.
While there are countless influences from different styles and techniques, the album is surprisingly tight and unified. The album takes many forms with lengthy instrumental tracks, from synth driven string ensemble ambiences to psychedelic guitar tracks to “traditional” black and death metal songs with very unconventional structures fused with synths. The Yayla concept is at its pinnacle in Pas.to.rale with the name of the band and our whole concept of nature based metal music comes to an alchemical home as we delve back into our roots after all these years of adventures as Viranesir and Blighted in an ironic existential absurdity. A tale of dungeon style atmosphere, relentless black metal, nostalgic overdose, musical hypnosis Pas.to.rale is here.
As with all his work on Merdumgiriz Records, Emir Toğrul's grand vision, each copy of Pas.to.rale CD, Tape, t-shirt and patch will be made by hand in the artisanal style. Emir paints the discs, cuts and inserts the prints for the jewel case and jacket, making all non-machined parts from scratch. All current and upcoming merch comes to fans direct from the hand of the creator himself. Get the album here.

The movie will be included in some editions of the album and it will be presented before release in various fan events worldwide.
Deep Purple recently announced their Long Goodbye Tour, which will bring the legendary live show once again all over the world. The band have not yet answered, in fact, the many questions received by fans from all over the world who are speculating about the meaning of the title inFinite and "Long Goodbye".
Singer Ian Gillan has in fact declared: “If you take it literally you may, quite reasonably, think the ‘Finite’ part of the word describes the life of Deep Purple, with a clear beginning and a nebulous end; but what of the ‘in’ bit? The word infinite is a three-dimensional double edged sword. It describes something that goes on forever in all directions; not unlike its temporal equivalent ‘Eternal’ What’s that all about?
“Stephen Hawking declared (in A brief History Of Time) that, before the Big Bang there was nothing. That would put the kybosh on the idea of our universe being Infinite, as he provides a starting point, which is not acceptable to the concept. So, Hawking’s universe in ‘Finite’; by definition; whether he agrees or not.
“Ironically, he is quite wrong (scientists always are eventually), therefore the Universe is infinite, which means it will never end, and also means that it never started, and the corollary to that of course is that we don’t exist.
“There is a metaphysical solution to all this, but it will have to wait until the tour is over because (thanks heavens) there are only 24 hours in a day (for the time being) or 10 hours in a metric day. More on that later…”

Alice’s catalog of hits and anthems, including “I’m Eighteen,” “No More Mr Nice Guy,” School’s Out,” “Elected,” “Poison,” and others, are featured in his live show, along with a mix of newer songs and fan-favorite album cuts. FAMISHGOD’s Roots Of Darkness Album Streaming In FullAfter releasing an excellent debut, dark death metallers Famishgod, featuring legendary vocalist Dave Rotten, are back with an even more mature output that showcases better songwriting and flair. There new album, Roots Of Darkness, is out now via Xtreem Music.
The original sickness that pervaded their music is present here and the whole record reverberates with it feverishly. It's what brings the music of Famishgod to life. There are but too many lifeless bands playing this style of dark death metal with doom influences, but few remain genuinely convincing still. With a commanding, evil voice that goes hand in hand with the dank music, the momentum only snowballs over the course of the album, turning the output into a kind of an infernal juggernaut at whose mercy you lay haplessly.
With excellent artwork and a new logo, the image of the band is stronger than ever and gives off a fitting vibe. The music almost ends up having an atmospheric quality to it as you remain unable to listen to it and not think thoughts of darkness and gloom.
Get the album via the Bandcamp widget below, where the album is streaming in full.
Tracklisting:
“Abyss Of The Underworld”
“Bad Omen”
“Molested, Defiled, Disrupted”
“Chamber Of Chaos”

GEEZER BUTLER Says BLACK SABBATH Calling It Quits Is 'A Natural End To The Band'BLACK SABBATH singer Ozzy Osbourne and bassist Geezer Butler spoke to Express & Star about the band's decision to call it quits after completing "The End" tour early next month.
"To come back and be friends with my buddies who I started up with all those years ago," Ozzy said, "it's a closure for me to have a chapter of my life which I can say, 'Well, we came, we saw, we had a good time, and now it's over.' And so it's like any relationship. I'm glad we ended up having more or less whatever has gone on between us over the years."
Butler added that the band couldn't carry on for much longer. "So the natural thing to do is to all agree on one last tour," he said. "And we all agreed that there won't be any more SABBATH after this. It's like a natural progression kind of thing; a natural end to the band."
BLACK SABBATH is bringing its storied career to a close in its native England, with seven shows booked there in January and February. The last two, on February 2 and February 4, will take place in SABBATH's hometown of Birmingham and will likely be their final shows.
BLACK SABBATH played its last show ever in the U.S. on November 12 at AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas. The gig took place nearly five years to the day that the legendary act announced their reunion.
The original lineup of SABBATH came together in 1969 with Osbourne on vocals, Butler on bass, Tony Iommi on guitar, and Bill Ward on drums. That lineup recorded and toured through 1978, and periodically reformed through the '90s and 2000s for live work.
They regrouped again in late 2011 for a new album and tour, although Ward dropped out after just a few months. The remaining trio issued the "13" album in 2013 and backed it with a successful world tour — despite Iommi being treated for lymphoma since 2012. 23

METALLICA's JAMES HETFIELD: First And Only Unauthorized Biography Due In AprilLesser Gods has set an April 11 release date for "So Let It Be Written", the first and only unauthorized biography of METALLICA frontman James Hetfield.
Born in 1963 in Downey, California, James was the son of a truck driver named Virgil and a singer named Cynthia. Hetfield's parents were Christian Scientists and strongly disapproved of the use of any kind of medicine or medical treatments, even when Cynthia was dying of cancer in 1979. This upbringing inspired many of METALLICA's later songs, such as "The God That Failed". Hetfield also had two older half-brothers from his mother's first marriage and a younger sister. Hetfield took up piano at the age of nine and began playing guitar at 14. He was in bands called LEATHER CHARM and OBSESSION during his teen years. In October 1981 he answered a classified ad placed in a local paper called Recycler by Danish drummer Lars Ulrich, and METALLICA was born.
Solidifying the lineup with bassist Cliff Burton and lead guitarist Kirk Hammett, who replaced Mustaine, METALLICA signed to Megaforce Records in 1983 and released its debut album, "Kill 'Em All", in July of that year, while also relocating from the Los Angeles area to San Francisco.
Pioneers and leaders of the underground speed metal movement, METALLICA signed with major label Elektra Records in 1984 just as they released their sophomore album, "Ride The Lightning".
Weathering the death of Cliff Burton in a tour bus accident in 1986, METALLICA became bigger and bigger, scoring their first gold album with 1986's "Master Of Puppets" and their first platinum disc with 1988's "…And Justice For All". The group became superstars in 1991 with the release of the self-titled "black album," which has sold over 16 million copies to become the biggest selling album of the SoundScan era of sales tracking.
It was during the late '90s that cracks began to show in both METALLICA's public image and Hetfield's tough-guy demeanor. Always a heavy drinker, his alcohol intake reached toxic levels in 2001 just as the band was starting work on its eighth studio album.
Hetfield got clean and sober in 2002, returning to METALLICA to record the controversial "St. Anger" album and make the documentary "Some Kind Of Monster", which chronicled his struggle as well as the band's near-breakup.
While "St. Anger" received a mixed reaction from fans, the band came back full force with 2008's "Death Magnetic". Several years of touring and other projects followed, with METALLICA returning to the studio in 2014 to begin work on last year's "Hardwired… To Self-Destruct" album, widely hailed as the band's finest release in more than two decades.
"So Let It Be Written" does justice to the many hats Hetfield has worn, with his strong leadership, signature vocal style, powerful guitar playing and masterful songwriting. Author Mark Eglinton uses exclusive, firsthand interviews — with prominent rock stars and key figures in Hetfield's life — to construct the definitive account of Hetfield.
TESTAMENT singer Chuck Billy, who wrote the book's foreword, said: "Hopefully this book will rekindle certain special memories about one of metal's most charismatic and important individuals."
You can check out a sample chapter from "So Let It Be Written" by clicking on the book cover at LesserGodsBooks.com.
Eglinton is an author, journalist and film producer currently based in Edinburgh, Scotland who co-authored former PANTERA/DOWN and current KILL DEVIL HILL bassist Rex Brown's memoir, "Official Truth, 101 Proof: The Inside Story Of Pantera", and whose first book, titled "James Hetfield: The Wolf At Metallica's Door", was published in April 2010. 2

ROB HALFORD Says JUDAS PRIEST 'Deserves' To Be In ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAMEDuring a recent appearance on "Trunk Nation", Eddie Trunk's show on SiriusXM channel Volume (106), Rob Halford was asked if he is bothered by the fact that JUDAS PRIEST has yet to be inducted inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. He responded: "Well, I've always likened the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame to, like, the NFL or the NBA or baseball. It's recognition, you know, and it's wonderful when you get these kinds of opportunities. So I, for one, would welcome it. I think we deserve it. [Laughs] But, yeah, I'm thrilled that [DEEP] PURPLE have got their acclamation as well. And I see that — 'cause, you know, I try and stay ahead on the news — I see they're going out with Alice [Cooper] and THE EDGAR WINTER BAND later this year. That will be a thrill to go and check out."
Halford's latest comments echo those he made last June to the KBAD 94.5 FM radio station in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He stated at the time: "The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, you know, is a controversial entity. It's not like the Baseball Hall Of Fame or the NFL Hall Of Fame. Those incredible institutions have very little kind of discourse going on in them, but because music — much like sports — is very passionate, and because I think the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame has been getting more diverse now, which I think it should. You know, because a musician is a musician is a musician, and, again, if you've been able to make an indelible mark with what you do, to be recognized for that, I think, is a great honor. And if and when that day comes, I think that will be a real treat."
Speaking to Hour.ca in a 2010 interview, Halford was asked if he thinks the fact that PRIEST has thus far been snubbed by the Rock Hall has something to do with the fact that he is still one of the rare openly gay superstars in all of show business.
"I don't know, let's have a think: Who in there is gay?" Halford asked rhetorically. "It's a good question. I consider myself a lower-case gay, not screaming like my good friend [porn director and drag queen] Chi Chi LaRue. I love all my friends in the community and if the moment came [for being inducted into the Rock Hall], it would be a tremendous moment not just for the band and our fans, but for the whole LGBT community."
JUDAS PRIEST guitarist Glenn Tipton seemed to take a slightly more indifferent stance toward the idea of the band being inducted into the Rock Hall, telling Classic Rock Revisited a few years ago: "I don't know if we will ever be invited to the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame or not. If we do, it will certainly be a privilege and it will be something we will be proud of. If we don't, then it is not going to change our lives. Our legacy is in our music. We will leave our music for everybody and I think that's good enough. You don't always need an accolade to leave a legacy."
Rock Hall rules state that artists become eligible 25 years after their first records were released, but the Hall also claims that other "criteria include the influence and significance of the artists' contributions to the development and perpetuation of rock 'n' roll," which is, of course, open to interpretation.
Despite being eligible for induction since 1999 — 25 years after the release of its first disc — KISS didn't get its first nomination until 2009, and was finally inducted in 2014.
DEEP PURPLE was eligible for the Rock Hall since 1993 but didn't get inducted until last year.

IN FLAMES Guitarist On Bassist PETER IWERS's Exit: 'He Was Just Done With This Life'IN FLAMES guitarist Björn Gelotte says that bassist Peter Iwers left the band at the end of last year because he was "done" with the touring lifestyle.
Iwers issued a statement in November saying that he was exiting IN FLAMES "to pursue other endeavors." He has since been replaced by Håkan Skoger who made his live debut with IN FLAMES on their recent European tour with with AVENGED SEVENFOLD and DISTURBED.
Asked by Mick Burgess of Metal Express Radio why Iwers chose to depart IN FLAMES after almost twenty years with the band, Gelotte said (hear audio below): "He's always been a very busy man, and I think he was just done with this life. He's still writing music, playing music with friends in different constellations. [Peter and I] have [a] bar together [in Gothenburg, Sweden], 2112, so he's busy doing that. He has a brewery together with the old drummer from IN FLAMES, Daniel [Svensson], so he's a very busy man."
According to Gelotte, Iwers first brought up the subject of leaving IN FLAMES before the band's fall 2016 tour with HELLYEAH. "We talked a little bit before the last U.S. run now, and that was, like, November 'till December some time," the guitarist recalled. "We talked a little bit beforehand, and I think he just made the decision early on on that tour.
"We're not 18 anymore," he added. "There's different priorities for different people, and it's just how it works. It's super sad — it's our brother — but then again, we have so much together that we do that I will talk and meet him all the time anyway."
Björn also spoke about Skoger's addition to IN FLAMES, saying that the bassist is "an old friend from the same area where I'm from in Gothenburg. He played with Anders [Fridén, vocals] and Niclas [Engelin, guitar] in PASSENGER, which was a side project they did. He was also in GARDENIAN, which is one of Niclas's early bands. And I think he played some with Niclas in ENGEL as well. We just know this guy is awesome when it comes to playing bass. He just hasn't toured that much. The funny thing was, musically, it's not a problem whatsoever, but he was wondering stuff like, 'When we get to the venue, do we get food and stuff?' [Laughs] It was, like, 'What? Are you serious? Is that really your question?' Because musically, this kicks ass."
"Battles", IN FLAMES' twelfth studio album, was released on November 11 via Nuclear Blast in all territories excluding North America and Scandinavia and Eleven Seven Music Group in the U.S.
Svensson announced in 2015 that he was leaving IN FLAMES to focus on his family life. He has since been replaced by Joe Rickard, who played on "Battles" as a session musician. 2

Right up to a month before completion the Zombie crew were writing new tracks to add to the album, the first two tracks fresh out of Marc n Dazz’s vault of riffs, and along with Producer Gavin Parker the mixing and recording didn’t stop until the day before the masters were sent off to Napalm Records. “Man we nearly punched on countless times getting this out of our heads, we didn’t speak for 3 weeks once we finished, just so we didn’t kill each other. But now, we are back into it, and cannot wait to get stuck into some video clips, and get on tour both here in Australia and Europe and America!”
Supersonic Rock’N Roll will be available as a 4-page digipack with a bonus track, and as a very special single LP gatefold edition limited to 300 copies worldwide. Pre-orders will be available shortly.

OMNISIGHT Streaming “Seven Sisters” VideoBringing progressive metal into new dimensions especially for those who really enjoy full explosive adventure, Vancouver virtuosos OmnisighT recently gave the world their latest effort Power Of One. The EP showcases their highly regarded musicianship and finely wrought song-craft. As a whole Power Of One is a musical journey with a story concept to question the status quo and stand up against the oppression plus deceptions of the ruling class.
OmnisighT have shared with fans their latest video “Seven Sisters” in support of the EP.
Vocalist / guitarist Raj Krishna explains:
"I wrote the ‘Seven Sisters’ riff just goofing around at home. I really didn't even like it that much! I still wanted to try it out live in the room though, and Chris our drummer put this super funky groove on it and I got a vocal off it right away. It's loosely based on the Seven Sisters oil cartel BP, Shell, Exxon, Texaco Standard Oil and the like. Basically it's about befriending people just to get at their resources. It's also in a 7/8 time signature through a lot of the song, so that's me just trying to be clever!"
Power Of One is now streaming along with CD and digital download at BandCamp.
Drummer Chris Warunki comments on the release:
"The Power Of One is the sound of a band firing on all cylinders. Guitarists, bassists, drummers and vocalists will all have something in-store for them here with this EP. We are excited to get this out to the prog/rock/metal masses both musically and lyrically. Speaking of lyrically, the album will come with a PDF booklet exclusive to our Bandcamp supporters. We took a "more is more" approach with this one and it will be a real challenge, but a welcome challenge; to take it to the stage. We want to keep the musicianship in the music that has been our agenda since day one!"

CORRODED To Release “Fall Of A Nation” Single This MonthIn late 2016, Ånge, Sweden-based aggressive rock act, Corroded, signed with Despotz Records for the release of their new album, Defcon Zero, which will see the light of day in April of this year, preceded by the single, "Fall Of A Nation" on February 17th.
The band says, "Friends and foes, ladies and germs, the wait is finally over. Our latest single “Fall Of A Nation”, from the upcoming album Defcon Zero, will strike down upon you like a sledgehammer. When you have listened to its might and fall down to the floor in awe, the only thing that we can say to you is in the words of Shakespeare, “Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more.”
In addition, Despotz will digitally release the band's back catalogue (previously only available via Ninetone / Universal), Eleven Shades Of Black (2009), Exit To Transfer (2010), and State Of Disgrace (2012). The three albums will also be made available on vinyl later in the year.
Their debut album, Eleven Shades Of Black. marks the first strike: the single “Time And Again“ was chosen as the title and theme song for the Swedish version of the reality show Survivor (called Expedition Robinson in Sweden) and put the band on the map overnight. Consequently the album cracked the Swedish Top 3 by entering at #2 on the charts.
Exit To Transfer, their sophomore effort, peaked at #6 on the charts, supported by a sold out Scandinavian tour with US melodic metal monsters Avenged Sevenfold in the fall of 2010 alongside two showcases at the established Berlin, Germany music fair Popkomm. At this point, Corroded had finally made an impact beyond Swedish borders. But even more important was their contribution to the renowned computer game Battlefield, with “Age Of Rage“ being picked up as the game’s theme song.
A lineup change didn't stop the band's third release, State Of Disgrace, from slamming into the Swedish charts once again at #2.
