Danish death/black metal outfit, Crocell, has released a stop motion video for "Once Called Slaves", available for streaming below. The song is taken from Crocell's fifth album, Relics, which was recorded during the band's ten year anniversary in 2017 and will be released via LongLife Records on March 16th.

Referencing both early Crocell artwork and more than one cult film, the nightmarish music video was shot and edited by Lasse Frisk from Frisk Film and consists of close to 15,000 still photos.

Crocell drummer Andreas Posselt comments: "We were searching for a video producer when we came across Lasse, who wanted to try out some more grotesque and gory ideas compared to the work he had previously done with renowned Danish hiphop artists such as Per Vers and Ham Den Lange. After having discussed a few ideas with him, we decided to just let him loose - and this was what he came up with at the first go. It is exactly what we wanted and a perfect companion to both the music and lyrics!"

The album was produced by Jacob Olsen at JBO Sound and features hand-drawn artwork by BF.B, who has previously worked with Metal Magic Festival, Vomit Angel, Ligfaerd, and Departed Souls among others. The album will be available on CD and white vinyl and can be pre-ordered from the band's Bandcamp profile.

In October, international collaboration Stagma invaded the airwaves with the release of their first single, "Pokerface". Today, the band unveiled a new chapter in their career with confirmation of the release date for their new album.

The self-titled Stagma will come out on April 6th and will feature 10 songs. You can see the tracklisting for the album below. The first track is "Genesis", an electronic introduction from gaming legend Jeroen Tel, and "Sister Sister" features Simon Wright of AC/DC on drums.

Stagma was the brainchild of Alex Santos, guitarist, producer and composer with Scar For Life, who joined forces with Joe Petro (Heaven And Earth), Vinny Appice (Black Sabbath/Dio), Neil Fraser (Ten, Rage Of Angels) and with the intention of forming a new heavy rock supergroup. Stagma was born out of this collaboration, which was completed with the addition of lyricist/vocalist Rob Mancini (Scar For Life, Boneyard Dog) and drummer Patrick Johansson (Yngwie Malmsteen, W.A.S.P.). The album was produced by Alex and will be released through Headshell Records.

The album will be available to download from all good streaming services and pre-orders for the CD, which will include a bonus track "Castaway", can be made from Headshell Records.

Hells Headbangers has announced the signing of cult American thrash metal band Destructor. The first fruit of this union shall be reissues of the band's classic debut album from 1985, Maximum Destruction, as well as their successive Sonic Bullet EP. A brand new Destructor studio album shall follow this year, as well.

Says vocalist/guitarst Dave Overkill, "It is with great pride and enthusiasm that I make this announcement: On February 6th, 2018, Destructor have made the decision to sign with Hells Headbangers. This is a perfect fit for the band and label as we continue to head into the future. Destructor plan to reissue our 1985 debut record, Maximum Destruction, as well as the Sonic Bullet EP. In addition, Destructor are finishing writing a new record and plan to start recording this summer."

Born out of the hard rock and heavy metal of the late 1970s and early '80s, Pat Woloweicki, Dave Just, and Paul Habat joined forces to create and play music that was not unlike other youth across the planet but was yet to have the title of thrash metal. Born of raw energy, loud guitars, and fast drums, Destructor took form. Being mutual high school friends, they found a common bond, and now surnamed Pat Rabid, Dave Overkill, and Paul Warhead, they began to pursue the lifelong dream of being in a band that would come to change the landscape of music previous to their musical heroes.

Having played with drummers Greg Kanios and Don Payne in the embryonic stages from 1982-1983, they finally met up with Matt "Flammable" Schindelar, who was introduced by a mutual friend, Ian Shipley, who would later join the Cleveland band Breaker. Matt played in a band with Ian named Hellion along with vocalist Jim Hamar, who also joined Breaker. With Matt Flammable, the band Destructor was now complete, and in early 1984, Destructor arose onto the Cleveland, Ohio music scene. The first demo, known as Smash Your Skulls with Power, was made from rehearsal recordings and circulated across the world, as many other likeminded bands did, as well.

These were the days previous to the internet, and bands found their fans through tape trading and small fan-based fanzines that existed in every music scene across the planet. After writing songs from 1982 -1984, it was time for Destructor to play their first show, opening for the Manimals at the Pop Shop, which was a club in the basement of the Cleveland Agora. The show took place on October 20th, 1984. Directly after leaving the stage, the band was approached by Bill Peters, an independent record producer from the Cleveland area, and was asked "Do you guys want to make a record?" To which the reply was "Fuck yeah!"

Originally intended to just be a vinyl EP advertised as Pounding Evil, it was quickly changed to a full-length record titled Maximum Destruction. This was to be the second full record released on Bill Peters' record label, Auburn Records. The record was recorded at Suma recording studio operated by Paul Hammond, whose father, Ken Hammond, recorded the likes of Grand Funk Railroad as well as many other gold and platinum artists. After the second show, it was decided that Destructor would replace Paul Habat with Dave Iannicca. Dave "Holocaust" Iannicca was also a high school friend and was always around, waiting and eager to have the chance to play with the band. Having only three weeks in the band, Dave Holocaust recorded the bass guitar on the Maximum Destruction sessions. The two-week sessions were completed in the summer of 1985, and the record was released on Auburn Records in December of 1985. Many shows ensued, and having shared the stage with bands such as Slayer, Nasty Savage, Megadeth, Overkill, Voivod, Celtic Frost, Anthrax, and many more, Destructor planted the flag of Cleveland thrash metal!

In 1986, Maximum Destruction was licensed to the overseas label Roadrunner Records and the sales flourished. In addition, the band did a new recording of the song "Pounding Evil" for the compilation record Speed Kills 2, under the company One Flag Records. The future looked bright for Destructor, and the writing of more songs ensued through 1985-1987 and brought record label attention from Island Records. A deal was proposed to the band for a major label release, and recording had begun for a second album in the summer of 1987 at Beachwood Studios. The record was unfortunately never completed after the murder of bass player Dave Iannicca on New Year's Eve of 1987/88, and the band was subsequently passed over by Island Records. The loss of Dave Holocaust reverberates around the world and brings about many changes for Destructor and the entire Cleveland metal scene.

With the loss of their bandmate and major label record deal, it was apparent that there was a long and hard road ahead mentally and emotionally for Destructor. The band enlisted Brook Hodges, a bassist from Chicago who auditioned for Metallica after Cliff Burton’s untimely death. Brook Damage was made a member, and together, the band of metal maniacs set forth to reclaim their throne. Things seemed good, but the landscape was changing in the United States by the late 1980s, and watered-down hair metal and subsequently the grunge movement were to take the limelight from the underground metal scenes around the country.

By 1989, Brook Hodges leaves to join the band Breaker. This time, in the aftermath of losing seemingly everything the band had worked for found, Matt Schindelar moved on to take leave, as well. Time passed, but Overkill and Rabid stayed together, refusing the dream's permission to die.

In 1992, the band took life once again, with Pat Rabid and Dave Overkill recruiting the likes of Tim Green on bass and Eric Beers on drums. The band rehearses and plays a big show with the band Overkill, but this lineup was only to last a couple of short months and the almost 10-year run was seemingly lost. Destructor finally hangs up the leathers.

In 1999, 16 years after Destructor formed, a German music magazine named Snakepit found Dave Overkill and asked for an interview. Keep in mind that real heavy metal was all but dead in the United States through the '90s but was still alive and starting to thrive again in Europe. Frank Stover, who conducted the interview, gave new life to the name Destructor, and the band reunited following the publication. Destructor, having enlisted Eric Reineke on bass, began to re-record what was to be the band's second record, originally titled Decibel Casualties. The band's first self-funded recording was produced at Suma recording studio. Having little luck soliciting record labels at the time, the album was never released. The band still did small tours and plunged forward. After a couple of years, Eric parted ways with the band, making way for new bassist Jamie Walters. By this time, the French record label Listenable Records had struck a deal to reissue the Maximum Destruction sessions' alternative mix. Jamie Boulder came from the band Boulder. Through all of this time, the record label Auburn Records was retired, as well, and both parties seemed to find each other again at the end of the '90s.

Having a new chance at giving music to the world, the two parties joined forces once again, and the record Sonic Bullet, which was recorded by Don Depew of the band Breaker, was released in 2003.

Sonic Bullet was the first real Destructor release since 1987 and was a combination of a couple of new songs and some material back from the old days. The Auburn release put the band back on the map. The band would find themselves embarking on their first overseas trip to play the prestigious Bang Your Head Festival. Upon returning, the band began to record Forever in Leather, which was released on Auburn Records in 2007.

Writing new songs once again and continuing to play shows regionally and in Europe, Destructor were finding that heavy metal was, in fact, very much alive and well and thriving worldwide. After another 10-year run and a handful of various CD and vinyl record releases, Pat Rabid decided to part ways with the band, and Jamie Boulder followed suit, as well, pursuing his solo interests in the creation of his band Midnight.

Nick Giannakos would now partner with Dave Just to complete the guitar attack, but now Matt Schindelar would find himself taking a leave of absence and Dave would bring in longtime friends Ed Stevens on bass and Chris Dora on drums to record the Anvil song "Bedroom Game" to be released on Skol Records' Anvil tribute record Strong as Steel. Matt rejoining the band afterwards brought along the talents of Tim Fredrick on bass. Dave Overkill, Matt Flammable, Nick Annihilator, and Tim Hammer forged onward, having signed a worldwide record deal with Pure Steel Records out of Germany. Two releases follow from the deal: first, the album Back In Bondage in 2016, and then Decibel Casualties in 2017. Now, Destructor are completing songwriting for their first album with Hells Headbangers.

Dimmu Borgir drummer Dariusz “Daray” Brzozowski recently launched his new band, Dante. The digital debut EP Paranoidosaur (limited edition) will come out on February 22nd. It was recorded at Heinrich House Studio, mixed by Filip Hałucha.

Dariusz “Daray” Brzozowski is one of the most recognized drummers within the metal scene. Well known for his extreme drumming, blast beats, precision and supersonic speeds, he earned his reputation through the years and was repeatedly valued for his achievements. Extensively touring the world with his bands. He played over 1,000 shows.

Born in 1980, he got his first kit at the age of 14. His story began with the band Vesania, and was continued in Vader, Masachist, Hunter, Black River. He’s also a session musician for multiple bands. Today, drumming for Vesania and Dimmu Borgir and being an active clinician and educator, he remains in the lead of worlds‘ uncompromising drummers.

Legendary thrash/black metal power force, Necrodeath, have released a video for the song "The Triumph Of Pain", the first single from their upcoming album The Age Of Dead Christ, which will be available from March 9th via Scarlet Records (vinyl version on Terror From Hell Records). The Age Of Dead Christ is Necrodeath's 11th album, 33 years after their inception into the scene, when the now legendary demo tape The Shining Pentagram was released. 33 as the age of Christ, the dead Christ, as the title of the album says. Necrodeath go back to their roots releasing one of the fastest, most violent and brutal chapters in their deadly musical path. The cover resembles the typical artwork of the Eighties demo tapes and features the band's old logo.

The Age Of Dead Christ includes the song "The Return Of The Undead", a new version of the band’s classic "The Undead" (originally included on the 1987 debut album Into The Macabre), featuring yet another extreme metal legend on vocals, the mighty A.C. Wild of Bulldozer.

The reunited classic lineup of DOKKEN — guitarist George Lynch, vocalist Don Dokken, bassist Jeff Pilson and drummer "Wild" Mick Brown — will release a new CD, DVD and Blu-ray, "Return To The East Live (2016)", on April 20 via Frontiers Music Srl. The set will contain footage of the band's October 2016 performance at Japan's Loud Park festival, as well as a brand new studio track, titled "It's Just Another Day".

Lynch, Dokken, Pilson and Brown played one U.S. concert in September 2016 before embarking on a six-show Japanese run dubbed "Unleashed In The East". The trek marked the first time in 21 years DOKKEN's classic lineup had hit the road.

Don recently told the "The Classic Metal Show" that he didn't know "why it took a freaking year" to complete the DVD. He said: "We had almost two hours of just backstage, goofing around, on the train, going to Osaka, Nagoya, on the train, having fun backstage, screwing around. That took forever to edit. So on the new live DVD, there's gonna a lot of bonus footage — a lot of just candid, messing around, having fun. 'Cause, you know, George and Jeff hadn't been in DOKKEN for over 20 years."

As for the musical direction of the new song, Don said that it is "very DOKKEN-sounding" and "very classic '80s" with "big harmonies. It's just like 'Paris Is Burning' meets 'In My Dreams'," he said. The track is the first new song to be recorded by the classic DOKKEN lineup since the 1997 "Shadowlife" album.

Don also talked about his current relationship with George and Jeff, both of whom he had previously traded verbal barbs with in the press. "I would say that I had some trepidation [about playing with them again], obviously," Dokken said. "We've been getting offers for years and years and years to do a reunion, quote-unquote, tour, and I said, 'Guys, I'm not interested. DOKKEN, to me, is Chris McCarvill, 'Wild' Mick Brown and Jon Levin, who's been in the band for 22 years. That's DOKKEN.' I don't see why I need to go back in time and do this. What's the point? If it's just for money, they know how I feel about that. And there's more to life than money. You can live in a mansion and drive a Ferrari and be miserable. And I said, 'I'm not interested.' So I had some trepidation. We only rehearsed with Jeff and George for three days when we did the South Dakota one show only in America, where we filmed. But they showed up, we rehearsed, went to Japan, we filmed the show, we did these huge arenas, sold out. And it was great. George and I shot the shit for hours and hours every day over sake and beer on the bullet trains and we talked about everything from politics to spirituality and it was all good. And Jeff is such an addict, he's almost maybe worse than me when it comes to music. I mean, every day, Jeff's on the bullet train looking at the footage from the night before and he's looking at this, he's looking at that. 'Check this out. How about that? This is a good shot.' He's mixing the songs, he's trying to figure out what's the best takes. So it was a band effort. That was nice."

In January, DOKKEN filmed a video for "It's Just Another Day" with director Jamie Brown, who has previously worked with LYNCH MOB and KXM.

Robert Trujillo and Kirk Hammett performed a cover of BARÓN ROJO's "Los Rockeros Van Al Infierno" during METALLICA's February 5 concert in Madrid, Spain. Fan-filmed video footage of their rendition can be seen below.

BARÓN ROJO is a Spanish heavy metal band which had some international success in the 1980s. The band's original lineup included brothers Armando and Carlos De Castro (guitars and vocals), José Luis Campuzano (known as Sherpa; bass and vocals) and Hermes Calabria (drums).

METALLICA's February 1 show in Lisbon, Portugal kicked off the 2018 European leg of the group's "WorldWired" tour, which will run through May 11 in Helsinki, Finland.

The first European leg of METALLICA's "WorldWired" tour launched in Copenhagen, Denmark on September 2 and ran through November 3.

The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame band is touring in support of its tenth studio album, "Hardwired... To Self-Destruct", which came out in November 2016.

The "WorldWired" trek was Pollstar's fifth-highest grossing tour of 2017, with 1.5 million tickets sold.

MACHINE HEAD frontman Robb Flynn said last year that his band is continuing to play "Evening With" shows because fans never warmed to the opening acts he and his bandmates selected.

For the touring cycle behind 2014's "Bloodstone & Diamonds" album, the San Francisco Bay Area metal titans completed around 250 shows with no support bands and performances often lasting two and a half to three hours.

In an interview with Poland's Interia.pl, Flynn explained why MACHINE HEAD is bucking industry trends by not taking part in package tours or offering support slots to younger acts. "We've been taking support acts now for 23 years," he said. 'I tell you what, people just never liked the support acts that we take. We brought BRING ME THE HORIZON out and I thought they were going to be a winner and people were throwing garbage cans at them on stage. There came a time when just in general, metal has really gotten into packaged tours and festivals and 160 on a bill and, you know, you think about a Paul McCartney or Bruce Springsteen, when they come, they don't come with seven other bands. It's just Bruce Springsteen. It's just THE ROLLING STONES. You know what? That's the status that we want. We really, really enjoyed playing these 'Evening With' shows. We started doing it on the last album cycle. 250 of the 283 shows were 'An Evening With', us playing two and a half or three hours every night and it was fucking awesome. It totally reinvigorated us as a band. It made us dust off a bunch of songs. It made us play better. It made the tour cycle more interesting. We loved it. We're going to keep on doing it."

MACHINE HEAD's latest album, "Catharsis", was released on January 26 via Nuclear Blast. The effort was made available in several formats, including a CD/DVD digipak edition which contains footage of MACHINE HEAD's 2015 concert at San Francisco's Regency Ballroom.

The follow-up to 2014's "Bloodstone & Diamonds", "Catharsis" was produced by Flynn and was recorded, mixed, and co-produced by Zack Ohren (FALLUJAH, ALL SHALL PERISH) at Sharkbite Studios in Oakland, California. Mastering was handled by Ted Jensen (HATEBREED, ALICE IN CHAINS, DEFTONES) at Sterling Sound in New York. Cover photography was created by Seanen Middleton.

The North American tour in support of "Catharsis" kicked off on January 25 in Mesa, Arizona.

"Cast in Stone", the 14th studio album from Danish power and progressive metal masters ROYAL HUNT, will be released in Japan on February 7 by King Records and in the rest of the world on February 21 by NorthPoint Productions.

Formed in 1989, ROYAL HUNT is the brainchild of keyboardist and main songwriter André Andersen, whose goal was to combine basic values of classic rock with progressive, current musical elements.

Says Andersen: "This album took a while to complete… mind you, between the very first idea and until the final mix, we did two tours and released two live albums… so this one's been in the making for quite some time. In a way, it's been very practical: you could work on it for a while, than go on doing something else and then come back later to re-evaluate what's been done before. As a result, all songs on the album are solid and well crafted, showing every aspect of ROYAL HUNT today: originality, catchy hooks, strong melodies, great musicianship and larger-than-life production. On that — the production — we definitely did quite a job: all the vital recorded parts were done in analog as well as the final mixing/mastering so there're no 'loudness wars' in sight; no brickwall limited, over-compressed, lifeless wall of sound… the album breaths just like a real rock album should. I could also go on for hours praising everybody's contribution — musicians and singers alike — but as my opinion will inevitably be very biased, I would prefer to leave the final judgment to you… after all this album's been made for you to enjoy (although we're enjoying it immensely ourselves at the moment)."

Asked how AC/DC rhythm guitarist Malcolm Young influenced his playing and how he was affected by Malcolm's passing, Scott said: "I don't want it to sound weird, but it wasn't a shock [to hear that he had died]. I mean, people knew — I knew that he had been sick for a long time with a disease that, generally, you don't come back from. So it was one of these just-a-matter-of-time kind of things, which is just a huge bummer.

"I had actually talked to a friend of mine at the Loudwire [Music] Awards, who's very close with the AC/DC camp, just to ask if he had heard anything. Because there was no information out there — there was never any information on how Malcolm was doing. And he said he had spoken to someone and from what he had heard, [Malcolm] didn't have long, and that was, like, three weeks before he passed. So I wasn't surprised, but at the same time, that doesn't temper how sad it was and what a huge bummer it is that that guy is no longer with us doing what he pretty much was put on this planet to do."

Ian continued: "I'm the type of person that celebrates people when they go. I don't sit around and do the whole mourning thing and all that. I prefer to celebrate it, so we cranked AC/DC — we put 'Let There Be Rock' on and just cranked it. And that's what I've always done; it's never going to change. So we'll have all of those records for… I'll have 'em for the rest of my life, obviously. Anytime I think about Malcolm, I can go put something on.

"As far as my playing goes, [Malcolm] was my guitar teacher. Obviously, I wasn't sitting there taking lessons from him, but playing along to AC/DC records as a kid is really where I learned how to play guitar. And I would just go song by song by song and learn the chords and not take the time to sit there and learn the lead breaks, 'cause learning the leads would take me days whereas I could learn the whole album in a few hours if I was just learning the chords. And Malcolm was the guy playing the chords. I think my whole way of playing, my percussive right hand, it's very, very similar, in a lot of ways, to what he does. Obviously, I play a different style of music, and the metal that ANTHRAX is playing is a completely different style of music than AC/DC. So, yeah, even though my right hand is very percussive like his, it's in a different way, with palm muting and, obviously, playing the guitar to make a sound that works in the context of ANTHRAX. But, for me, it all comes from what he was doing."

Malcolm, who co-founded AC/DC with brother Angus in 1973, died on November 18 at the age of 64 after suffering from dementia and failing health for several years. His condition forced him to leave the band in 2014, with his nephew Stevie Young stepping into Malcolm's position.

Hundreds of mourners gathered for his November 28 funeral in Sydney, Australia, including Angus and other members of the Young family, along with former AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd, ex-AC/DC bassists Mark Evans and Cliff Williams, and AC/DC singer Brian Johnson.

Malcolm was remembered as a "humble man" and "musical mastermind," with friend David Albert saying in his eulogy that Malcolm's impact on the music industry was nothing short of momentous. Young's beloved Gretsch guitar, "The Beast," rested on his coffin during the service.

George Lynch has confirmed to SiriusXM's Eddie Trunk that three members of the classic DOKKEN lineup have reunited in a new project called SUPER STROKE. The band, which is rounded out by former LYNCH MOB and current WARRANT singer Robert Mason, is working on material for its debut album, to be released in late 2018.

Lynch, who is joined in SUPER STROKE by his onetime DOKKEN bandmates Jeff Pilson and Mick Brown, told Trunk: "I'm literally sitting here writing and recording with Jeff at Jeff's studio for that project.

"I've got to tell you, I'm probably in the bands with the worst names in the history of rock and roll," he joked. "You know, SWEET & LYNCH, T&N, LP, SUPER STROKE, KXM — I mean, absolutely no imagination. I'm sorry. I have to apologize up and down. But I don't know about the idea of, like, 50- and 60-year-old dinosaur rockers being in a band called THE SUPER STROKERS, but they insisted on it. I lost the vote, so that's what it's called, I guess, at this point."

Describing SUPER STROKE's music as "just insane," George said that he and Jeff "are sitting here just out of our minds, having so much fun. It's kind of like all these different projects are really just one big giant project. We just keep trying to say the same thing over and over until we get it right.

"The SUPER STROKE thing, like the new DOKKEN track [that was recorded for the upcoming concert album and DVD], it just seems to be a culmination of all our decades of experience of what we've been trying to do forever, and we finally seem to be getting it together," he explained. "This stuff is just coming out so beautifully, and it's just so fun to play on and so fun to listen to. I just can't wait to get it out there in front of people."

Last November, Pilson told Glide Magazine about SUPER STROKE's musical direction: "There's definitely some DOKKEN in there. There is a little bit of the straight-ahead LYNCH MOB-ness in certain aspects but then another aspect we get quite musical. It's not progressive but very musical. Some of the songs are pretty epic in their musicality. George is playing his ass off. I mean, the whole band is playing great, I got to say. And Robert is just an amazing singer and it's so much fun. Robert is in WARRANT right now, and he was the second singer for LYNCH MOB. There's a lot of connections in there."

DOKKEN's classic lineup reunited for a short Japanese tour in the fall of 2016. The trek marked the first time in twenty-one years DOKKEN's classic lineup had hit the road.

A CD and DVD of DOKKEN's Japanese tour will tentatively arrive in April. It will feature footage from two of the Japanese shows — including Tokyo — plus the aforementioned brand new song, "It's Just Another Day", for which DOKKEN filmed a video in January.

Singer Don Dokken told "The Classic Metal Show" that the main reason he doesn't want to continue with the classic DOKKEN lineup is that he "loves" the band he has now — which features Brown, alongside guitarist Jon Levin and bassist Chris McCarvill.

KXM, the band featuring bassist/vocalist Doug "dUg" Pinnick (KING'S X), guitarist George Lynch (LYNCH MOB, DOKKEN) and drummer Ray Luzier (KORN), is wrapping up the recording process for its third album at Steakhouse Studio in North Hollywood, California. The LP, which is being tracked with producer/engineer Chris Collier — who also helmed the group's first two releases — will be issued later this year by Rat Pak Records.

During a recent interview with SiriusXM's Eddie Trunk, Lynch stated about KXM: "We just finished basic tracking and writing last [month]. We went in the studio for eleven days at Steakhouse Studios in North Hollywood, and we just had a blast. We posted a lot of stuff on social media, and people can see the inner workings of how we're getting things done during the writing process and tracking process. It was just so much fun."

Lynch admitted that he was "a little nervous — I think we all were — that we thought, 'Well, does lightning strike three times?' We got in the studio again and just wrote everything from scratch and opened up the mics, and we wrote one or two songs a day, and at the end of eleven days, we had a whole record," he said.

According to Lynch, the new KXM album is "better than the first two. It's insane," he said. "The magic's there, the chemistry's there, and we're just sitting here patting ourselves on the back [laughs], telling each other what geniuses we are. We're just hoping that, as we always do, we'll be able to find some time to tour on it. It's very, very frustrating for us, and for the fans. It's a challenging thing to be able to pull off, because we're all in many other projects, and especially, Ray Luzier being in KORN, it's not like KXM can call up KORN and say, 'Hey, can you guys take a couple months off so we can tour?' It needs to be out there live, [and] we are going to continue to try to find a way to make that happen."

KXM — which derives its name from a combination of its members' other projects (K from KORN, X from KING'S X and M from LYNCH MOB) — issued its self-titled debut in 2014. The 13-track follow-up, "Scatterbrain", was released on March 17, 2017.

In a brand new interview with Forbes magazine, former GUNS N' ROSES and VELVET REVOLVER drummer Matt Sorum was asked how he feels about streaming services such as Spotify and Apple Music. "At first, it came off a bit elitist to me," Sorum admitted, "but [then] [I] [started] to like the idea to get the general public the original WAV forms of the recording. I have Tidal and Spotify on my phone and I love it. [But remember], we spent a lot of time and energy in making a record, then [suddenly] it gets squashed into a digital MP3.

"There's something about connecting with the music by means of its original format; by holding the record in your hand, and watching it rotate until it played its last tune," he continued. "It's a spiritual connection, some might say. You can't connect with music like that today — you can't reach for its soul. Today, digitizing music in MP3 format, diminishes its soul. It's not the same sound."

Sorum went on to say that GUNS and VELVET REVOLVER "were a little behind" the technological curve, "watching bands like LINKIN PARK, who were digitally savy. It was a marketing component — you had to either jump on board and get with it, or be left behind as a bit of a dinosaur. [Post GUNS N' ROSES], in the early '90s, [we] still put out vinyl, cassettes, and then CDs came out. When things started to go online with VELVET REVOLVER, I had suggested the band get up to speed with what [was] happening in the new world."

Sorum, who replaced Steven Adler in GUNS N' ROSES, recorded the highly successful albums "Use Your Illusion I" and "Use Your Illusion II" (both 1991) and "The Spaghetti Incident" (1994). He also supported the group on the "Use Your Illusion" tour and can be heard on GUNS N' ROSES' "Live Era: '87-'93" (1999) and "Greatest Hits" (2004).

Sorum said back in April 2016 that he wasn't participating in GUNS N' ROSES' comeback shows because he wasn't asked to take part in the reunion.

Sorum has said in the past that a GUNS reunion tour should have included both him and Adler, with each playing the songs they recorded with the group. Sorum was inducted as a member of the band into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in April 2012.

US dark melodic metallers Witherfall were on board for the highly anticipated eighth edition of the 70000 Tons Of Metal cruise sails from Miami / Fort Lauderdale, FL to Grand Turk, Turks and Caicos Islands and back, which ran from February 1st - 5th. In a very emotional gesture, the brothers of deceased drummer Adam Sagan spread his ashes on the stage during the band's first-ever live performance on the cruise. Check out the video below.

Sagan was Witherfall's original drummer, and he was replaced by the highly talented Steve Bolognese, who by strange coincidence replaced Sagan after his departure from the Canadian progressive power/death metal heroes, Into Eternity

Adam Sagan, who also performed with White Empress, Circle II Circle and Into Eternity, lost his battle with blood cancer (T-cell lymphoblastic lymphoma) in December 2016. He was only 36 years old. His bandmates, past and present, posted tributes and farewells to their fallen friend.

White Empress: "My friends, we have some very very sad news. Our drummer Adam Sagan has passed away today after battling with cancer for over a year. We are saddened beyond belief and no words can describe the feeling in the band right now. He was and still is an integral part of White Empress. Our hearts go out to his family and friends. He was a god on the drums and will always continue to be."

Into Eternity: "With heavy hearts we say farewell to our long time friend and bandmate Adam Sagan. We have lost another brother to the scourge of cancer. Adam was far to young but brave beyond his years. We will miss you Adam and we will never forget the countless stages we shared and miles we traveled. Our hearts go out to your brothers and to your family. May you finally have found peace."

Stu Block (Iced Earth, Into Eternity): "Got off stage tonight and found out horrible news of the passing of a close brother. R.I.P Adam Sagan. So many tears will fall but your memory will rise and live forever in our hearts and minds. My heart goes out to Nate Sagan and Gordo Sagan and the whole family. I love you very much my brother. You are dining with the gods in Valhalla now. See you when it is my time, brother!"

Steve Smyth (Testament, Nevermore): "Adam Sagan, first time I met you was when I was out with Nevermore on the Enemies Of Reality tour back in 2003 (though I'm convinced it was earlier than that!), great dude you were then, and always will I remember you as! Two years later, we toured together on This Godless Tour, and got to hang a bit more on that one. Always a kind word, always a positive attitude, ready to help if you could. The world has lost a good soul, I lost a good friend, and music has lost an awesome talent. Rest In Peace, until we meet again. My deepest condolences to your family and friends."

Bill Hudson (Circle II Circle): "I can't believe I'm typing this... but I just lost another close friend. I heard it earlier but refused to believe it until his brothers posted it: Adam Sagan has just lost his battle with cancer. I swear I talked to him two weeks ago he was okay! He was almost done with chemo.

We started playing together in 2008 and in 2012 he was hired as the drummer for Circle II Circle and we toured the entire world together, from Dubai to all of Europe to Sao Paulo and the U.S. There's more memories than I care to try and process right now. What the fuck. We lived together for a few months in 2009. Last we talked, he was ready to start playing again. I can't believe this is happening.

I'll leave you with one of my favorite memories: Him speaking Portuguese to the audience at our show in my hometown of Sao Paulo, Brazil in 2013. I'm gonna miss this guy..."

Sagan's brother, Nate, has also posted a message on Facebook:

"I want to thank everyone who helped support Adam Sagan and our family during his battle with cancer. Today his epic and relentless fight is coming to an end. Nobody has ever touched more people than my brother and he will be missed, but certainly not forgotten. Thank you all for the love and support. Stay strong, Adam would have wanted it that way."

Zeno Roth, the younger brother of legendary German guitarist Uli Jon Roth (SCORPIONS), passed away on Monday (February 5). He was 61 years old.

Uli said in a statement: "[Zeno] died in his sleep after years of illness and finally moved on to a much better place.

"Speaking on behalf of all his family and friends, this is a tremendous loss, both on a human level, but also because Zeno was a true and incredibly gifted artist. We will always remember his songs, poetry and beautiful guitar playing. As a brother, I remember him as a gentle caring soul with the deepest feelings, but also as a person of great humour and wit. His songwriting abilities were of the first order. He was a truly outstanding guitar player and his talent for poetry was simply incredible and on the highest level imaginable, which was particularly evident in those poems which he had written in his mother tongue of German. Fortunately for us, he left us many of these precious gem stones and we shall publish a collection of his poems posthumously in due course.

"Just before he died, Zeno was working on three brand new songs which he played to me in a demo version before Christmas and I was amazed at what I heard, because he had reached a new plateau and his playing was better than ever, miraculously, despite his debilitating illness. We will try to finish these songs and release them because they are worth hearing and contain a lot of magic and beauty.

"To all the fans of Zeno worldwide, I want to say thank you on his behalf, I want to say thank you on his behalf, his son Shion, Naoko, his girlfriend Indu and his family, and that of his closest friend and band member, Ule W. Ritgen for all your support and loyalty. God bless Zeno's soul!"

Zeno is perhaps best known for his namesake band, which he formed in 1984 with Ule W. Ritgen (FAIR WARNING) and Michael Flexig. The group's self-titled debut album was released in 1986 and was supported by tours with bands like BLACK SABBATH, KEEL and KROKUS.

Ex-DREAM THEATER drummer Mike Portnoy says that he has "gotten together many times" with his former bandmate, DREAM THEATER guitarist John Petrucci, over the last couple of years.

Portnoy, who co-founded DREAM THEATER more than 30 years ago, abruptly quit the band in September 2010 while on tour with AVENGED SEVENFOLD. He has since been replaced by Mike Mangini (ANNIHILATOR, EXTREME, JAMES LABRIE, STEVE VAI).

After Portnoy posted a photo this past New Year's Eve of him hanging out with Petrucci, many DREAM THEATER fans expressed hope that it represented a thawing of tensions between the two musicians who had been friends for more than three decades.

During a recent interview with "The Metal Podcast", Portnoy was asked for the background story behind the Internet-shattering picture. He said (hear audio below): "It's funny. John and I have actually reconnected over the last year or two and actually gotten together many times and had dinner together with our families.

"Look, the reality is he and I have been friends since the first week in college back in September of 1985, so it's a relationship that goes back 33 years," he continued. "And our families are all friends, our wives and our kids are all friends, we all grew up together, and that's never gonna go away.

"After I left DREAM THEATER, there were some years worth of drama and bullshit. But the reality is you put all that aside and friends are friends and family is family and John and I will always be friends and family.

"Like I said, we've hung out a lot in the last year or so, but we never kind of went public with it, we never posted any pictures of it, we never really talked about it — we didn't wanna stir anything up," Portnoy added. "But we were together New Year's Eve and his family was here at my house and we were just feeling the love. And it was, like, 'You know what? What a great message to start off the year. Can't we all get along? Give peace a chance.' And we decided to post that picture just to put some smiles on people's faces."

Last November, Mike told Loud that he left DREAM THEATER because he wanted to expand his musical horizons. "[I didn't] want to go to my grave and just be the drummer from DREAM THEATER," he said. "I knew there was way more to what I had to offer."

Asked if there was anything he wished DREAM THEATER had done differently in the way they went about finding a replacement for Portnoy, Petrucci told "The Classic Metal Show": "There's not many situations in life where you can say you wouldn't have done anything differently, but this is one of 'em. I think, looking back, I wouldn't have done anything differently."

He continued: "Mike Mangini really helped us to get through a major bandmember change, and in a way, that was probably as smooth as any bandmember change could have gone. The way that he came in, his personality, his skills as a drummer, his background, his history… it clicked to the point where it was, like, if we would have met Mike [Mangini] twenty years ago, we would have been playing with this guy. If I would have grown up with him, I would have been friends with him jamming. And that's rare. It's rare to do that one time around."

Petrucci added: "You know so many musicians in bands that are having trouble finding people to play with, and who click, and so the fact that this happened with Mike [Mangini], it's really just amazing to us. And since he's been in the band, we've done [three] albums, [several] world tours and, thankfully, have had a lot of success with it, and a lot of support from our fans through all of it. And, again, I wouldn't have done anything differently. It's really amazing."

Portnoy recently completed a tour with his SHATTERED FORTRESS project, with which he performed DREAM THEATER's "12 Step Suite" in its entirety for the first time ever. The music documents the drummer's battle with alcoholism, and is an ensemble of five songs recorded by DREAM THEATER from 2002 to 2009, with titles that reflect his struggles: "The Glass Prison", "This Dying Soul", "The Root Of All Evil", "Repentance" and "The Shattered Fortress".

Petrucci was also asked for his opinion of SONS OF APOLLO, which features Portnoy, former DREAM THEATER keyboardist Derek Sherinian, guitarist Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal (ex-GUNS N' ROSES), bassist Billy Sheehan (MR. BIG, THE WINERY DOGS) and vocalist Jeff Scott Soto (W.E.T., TALISMAN). "Mike gave me the record," John said. "I haven't listened to it yet. I heard the first song that came out. It sounds great. Those guys are all amazing, and Ron is an incredible guitar player.

"Mike's funny," Petrucci continued. "He handed me a whole bunch of stuff that he had done — FLYING COLORS, SONS OF APOLLO, the Neal Morse record which I hadn't had a chance to listen to — so I have a lot of listening ahead of me."

Former DIO guitarist Rowan Robertson says that he "would love" to release songs that were written during the sessions for the band's "Lock Up The Wolves" album that didn't make the final record.

Robertson, who was 17 years old when he joined the legendary singer, was asked by The Metal Voice at last month's NAMM show if he would be interested in making the unreleased recordings available to Ronnie James Dio fans.

"There's two songs which were just done on a boombox in rehearsal," he said. "And I just really would like to get permission from management, 'cause I don't wanna get in trouble. I'd love them to be out there, but I think after Ronnie's gone, he's not here to say, 'Don't play anyone that.' You know what I mean?"

In a 2015 interview, Robertson said that he played the two songs in question — which were apparently titled "Hell Wouldn't Take Her" and "The River Between Us" — for Ronnie's widow and manager Wendy Dio and that she thought the quality wasn't "good enough" to release them.

Rowan was also asked by The Metal Voice for his opinion on the ongoing "Dio Returns: The World Tour", which features a hologram of Ronnie James Dio backed by some of his DIO bandmates.

"I think it's great," the guitarist said. "I think it keeps his memory alive, and I don't see any problem with it at all. I think it's great."

In the late 1980s, Robertson heard that Ronnie James Dio was looking for a new guitarist. He sent a tape to the record company Phonogram. After six months of waiting, he got a reply that stated that at that moment they were not interested in him. At the encouragement of his friend and fellow guitarist Sean Manning (HURRICANE), the tenacious Robertson then contacted the DIO fan club who then asked him to send his demo tape to them.

Robertson got a great response from DIO after receiving the demo through the fan-club channels. In late January or early February 1989, Robertson was flown to Los Angeles for an audition with DIO. He was auditioned twice. Immediately after the second audition, he was invited to join the band. The press release for the addition of Robertson to DIO was sent out on July 18, 1989 and the press was invited to meet the newest DIO guitarist on July 20, 1989 at Oliver's Pub in New York City.

The first DIO album Robertson started working on with DIO was "Lock Up The Wolves". These sessions included Jimmy Bain, Vinny Appice and Jens Johansson. The band had already begun writing and recording when Jimmy Bain and Vinny Appice were suddenly excused from the band. They were replaced with Teddy Cook and former AC/DC drummer Simon Wright.

"Lock up the Wolves" was released in 1990, and the band embarked on a tour in support of the album.

Robertson stayed with DIO until Ronnie James Dio rejoined BLACK SABBATH in 1991.

Director Drew Fortier has announced his latest project, a documentary about the former FAITH NO MORE singer Chuck Mosley. The film was initially conceived as a narrative on the musician's then-burgeoning comeback, and Chuck originally agreed to the project through a typically irreverent voicemail.

While Drew played a handful of shows on guitar for Mosley in 2017, he and Chuck discussed the framework of a documentary about the singer/songwriter's life and his reemergence on the scene.

"I am incredibly excited to tell Chuck's story," said Drew, who also directed 2015's "Attack of Life: The Bang Tango Movie". "I believe everyone will be able to get something positive out of the finished project of what will be Chuck's film."

Chuck passed away unexpectedly on November 9, 2017, a couple days after leaving a voicemail for Drew… in his best Bane impression.

"I've decided to go ahead with the video…I mean, not the video, but the documentary on this one, Chuck Mosley," the singer reportedly said. "He seems like a pretty expansive and explosive character. I think he would be perfect for the part of himself."

Mosley had recently completed 60-plus dates on his "Reintroduce Yourself" tour and recorded a solo record with producer Matt Wallace (MAROON 5, DEFTONES, THE REPLACEMENTS). On November 3, 2017 his band PRIMITIVE RACE released its sophomore effort, "Soul Pretender", currently rising up the NACC Radio 200 chart.

"Thanks. And Sorry: The Chuck Mosley Movie" will be produced by Chuck's longtime friend/bandmate/babysitter Douglas Esper, who is also working on a book about their time on the road and in the studio together.

"In supporting Drew, I hope to give people a glimpse into the beautiful and frustrating mind of one of the most unique, self-proclaimed 'rock satellites' of all time," said Esper.

Drew and Douglas recently launched a Facebook page for the project. They are eager to hear from fans, family, friends, and anyone else willing to share stories, photos, audio, and video of Chuck Mosley.

Mosley sang on FAITH NO MORE's first two albums, 1985's "We Care A Lot" and 1987's "Introduce Yourself". He was fired from the band and replaced by Mike Patton, who remains the group's singer to this day.

After he was fired from FAITH NO MORE, Mosley sued his former bandmates over ownership rights and they eventually settled out of court. Years later, he reconciled with FAITH NO MORE, reuniting with them onstage in 2010 and making further live appearances with the group in 2015 and 2016.

Following his initial departure from FAITH NO MORE, Mosley briefly fronted BAD BRAINS and launched a series of solo projects, including the funk metal band CEMENT.

FAITH NO MORE issued a statement in which the bandmembers described Mosley as "a reckless and caterwauling force of energy who delivered with conviction and helped set us on a track of uniqueness and originality that would not have developed the way it had had he not been a part."

Joe Perry has told Yahoo! News that he would "really like to put some music together" with his AEROSMITH bandmates for a possible follow-up to 2012's "Music from Another Dimension!" album. "Steven [Tyler, vocals] and I have talked about it in general, because we both have things going on [Tyler released a country solo album in 2016], but I think there's some time we'll carve in there to get together," he said. "Even if it's a couple of songs, it would be good to get something new out, so we'll see."

Perry also revealed that AEROSMITH has "used every tool available to man to figure out how to get along" and stay together, including taking part in the same type of group counseling sessions that METALLICA attended during the making of the latter band's "Some Kind Of Monster" documentary. "That METALLICA thing that they did, it was pretty cool that they filmed it and all that, but that was like old news for us at that point," Perry said. "Over the years, we've had to seek professional help. We grew up together. We were kids, had this idea to do this, and living in an apartment together. You grow up, you know. You have relationships, marriages, kids, so everybody's interests started to spread out, but the vision of doing the band, we still feel that. But sometimes it's really hard to reconcile people's differences, so sometimes you're going to talk to somebody." He added: "We haven't needed that for a while. We should probably be writing books on it now! But I think that's another thing we've outgrown."

"Music From Another Dimension!", was released when AEROSMITH's label, Columbia Records, was reportedly going through a leadership change, and it ended up becoming a commercial disappointment.

The lackluster response to the disc later caused two bandmembers — Perry and drummer Joey Kramer — to question whether there's any point in AEROSMITH making future albums.

Perry's new solo album, titled "Sweetzerland Manifesto", was released on January 19.

As previously reported, Robert Trujillo and Kirk Hammett performed a cover of XUTOS & PONTAPÉS's "A Minha Casinha" during the Lisbon concert.

XUTOS & PONTAPÉS has dominated the Portuguese rock music scene since the late 1970s, with the band's fan base spanning several generations.

Trujillo dedicated METALLICA's version of "A Minha Casinha" to XUTOS & PONTAPÉS guitarist Zé Pedro, who died in December at the age of 61.

He reportedly died at home in Lisbon following a long battle with an undisclosed illness.

METALLICA's show in Lisbon kicked off the 2018 European leg of the group's "WorldWired" tour, which will run through May 11 in Helsinki, Finland.

The first European leg of METALLICA's "WorldWired" tour launched in Copenhagen, Denmark on September 2 and ran through November 3.

The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame band is touring in support of its tenth studio album, "Hardwired... To Self-Destruct", which came out in November 2016.

The "WorldWired" trek was Pollstar's fifth-highest grossing tour of 2017, with 1.5 million tickets sold.

Following Jizzy's U.K. tour in support of his new album this May, the vocalist will reunite with original LOVE/HATE drummer Joey Gold, along with guitarist Darren Housholder, for a special homecoming show at the world-famous Whisky A Go Go in West Hollywood, California on June 22.

In their endless quest to push and support current underground acts that perpetuate the odor of vintage death metal, on April 23rd, Memento Mori will release the highly anticipated sixth album from American death metal stalwarts, Cardiac Arrest, entitled A Parallel Dimension Of Despair.

Formed in the bowels of Chicago way back in 1997, Cardiac Arrest should need no introduction to the ardent fans of rotting and blood-drenched death metal, for these grave-dwellers have been carving out aural nightmares of perishing and grime for decades now. Consisting of four individuals with an unearthly interest in all that's absurd, morbid, gruesome, and unhealthy, the band's been consistently getting heavier and more vile with every album they spat out via previous labels such as Razorback Recordings and Ibex Moon Records, honoring timeless death metal of the most grinding and putrid ilk with genuineness and a no-nonsense approach, yet adding enough personality to be in a forever-rotting league of their very own.

Now, half a dozen albums deep into their 20-plus-year career Cardiac Arrest have delivered a masterstroke that bands a third of their age would be jealous to release: A Parallel Dimension Of Despair. Time moves on and tastes change, but these American diehards stay true to the iron-clad ethos of true and timeless death metal. If anything, this is Cardiac Arrest at their outright catchiest, addictingly navigating between gallop and blast.
