After they split up in the mid-nineties, Warpath reunited in 2014. 2017 was the year of their first new record and a thrashing show inside the Bullhead City Circus at Germany's Wacken Open Air festival.

Stryper frontman Michael Sweet has checked in with the following update:

"The new Stryper album is our best to date. If this was 1987 (when rock and metal ruled the charts) we might have a Grammy waiting with our name on it. But since this is 2018, we're just happy knowing that our fans will love it. We are blessed. Can't wait to get this one into your ears!

Three things stand out to me on the new Stryper album:

#1 - Songs! They're edgy and heavy, yet memorable and catchy. And yes there's a ballad (rock/guitar ballad).

#2 - Clarity! We tried hard to make this our most defined and dynamic album ever. We didn't get into a "loud war" while mixing & mastering. Because of that it retained it transients and it really "breathes"👍

#3 - Stryper got their groove back."

Jimmy Kay and Alan Dixon from Canada's The Metal Voice recently spoke with Sweet. He discussed the new Stryper album, a new song called "Take It To The Cross" that will feature death metal growls, new bassist Perry Richardson, faith, and the shooting of the upcoming Stryper documentary.

On if being a Christian was part of the job description in hiring Perry Richardson

Sweet: "It's a valid question, to answer your question, no. And it might make people gasp, it might shock people, it might even lose a few fans by hearing Michael Sweet saying that. What is at the top of the priority list is that they are good people, that they are clean and sober and that they are really good musicians and for Stryper a really important piece is that they can sing. we are a vocal band. It's not easy to find somebody that can sing and that can play and that is a great person. "

"The Christan thing is that doesn't always make you a great person. Some of the biggest idiots I know claim to be Christian and then vice versa. Is it something that would be really great to see and have of course, it's funny cause Perry has said that he is a Christian. But we didn't go there."

On the musical direction of the new Stryper album

Sweet: "The new album comes out in late April 2018. I can tell you this this is Stryper's best album. There is a song that is close to Yahweh (from Fallen) and it's really different it will surprise a lot of people. The title of the album is very controversial and very shocking, it holds its own and perhaps surpasses To Hell With The Devil in terms of that catch phrase. There is a song called 'Take It To The Cross' and we brought in Matt Bachand, who plays guitar in Shadows Fall and also plays bass in Act Of Defiance, and Matt has a great growl voice. So we brought him in on 'Take It To The Cross'. People are going to hear that and say 'That's Stryper, no way!' More in line with thrash, death metal but not over the top. People are going to hear it and say WHAT THE HELL?"

Tony Harnell says that he "had a great time" singing for SKID ROW, despite the fact that he lasted less than a year as the frontman of the formerly New Jersey-based outfit.

Harnell joined SKID ROW in April 2015 as the replacement for Johnny Solinger, who was the band's frontman for fifteen years. Tony quit the group only eight months later, explaining in a Facebook post that "being ignored and disrespected isn't my thing."

In a recent interview with the "Unphiltered" radio show hosted by former SKID ROW and SAIGON KICK drummer Phil Varone, Harnell said that he had no regrets about the time he spent with SKID ROW.

"I had a great time, I actually did have a really good time with SKID ROW," he said (hear audio below). "It was a good experience for me. I'm glad I did it. It just wasn't the best match, I would say, both musically and personality-wise. But I think very highly of them, and I had a good time doing it."

Harnell added that he spent "probably about 10 months" as SKID ROW's vocalist. "We did a decent amount of shows," he said. "By the end of my stint, I started to finally feel somewhat comfortable with the material, but there were some things happening that I wanted differently. But it was all good."

Last October, Harnell once again split with Norwegian rockers TNT, less than a year and a half after he rejoined the group. During the "Unphiltered" interview, Harnell described his relationship with TNT as "a very long marriage. I'm here [in New York], they're there [in Norway] — they're across the pond really far away. It's a very difficult situation to be in without having a very unified business organization, and no matter what I did, I could not get the thing unified. We were just on two totally separate not only continents physically, but mentally, psychologically, we were on two different continents as well."

According to Harnell, he "really, really wanted" his latest collaboration with TNT to work out. "In my opinion, this was gonna be it — we were gonna stay together until I didn't feel like singing anymore," he said. 'I was gonna do other things and do other projects and so forth, but my goal was that TNT woud be my band for at least another five years, maybe 10 years or whatever, until it ran its course. So this was kind of an unexpected thing."

One thing that Harnell wants "to make clear" is that he "did not quit" TNT "this time. I really haven't quit the band as many times as other people in the band have said and also the press has said," he explained. "Most of the time, it's been either a mutual parting of ways or a break. We've taken several breaks that were just not even talked about — we just didn't record or work [together] for a couple of years and then just started working again. The only time I legitimately actually quit the band was 2006. And then this [latest split] was just sort of a, 'This isn't working.' It was kind of a mutual thing. It [was] working on stage really well — actually, some of the best shows we have ever done were this year. And I was actually really happy. In August, I thought we did some of the best shows we've ever done, and then at the same time, we could not get the business stuff together. And at our age, the business really does have to be organized."

The singer went on to suggest that some of the individuals closely associated with TNT were to blame for his most recent exit from the group. "There are people that often are maybe well-meaning, but there, unfortunately, were people around the band that were, instead of trying to bring the main characters in the band together, they were more… maybe inadvertently — I don't think they were on purpose trying to do this — but they ultimately drove a wedge between the two most important members of the band, and that was ultimately the thing that I think caused this last thing to fall apart," he said.

At the end of the day, Harnell says that he feels "really, really bad" for the TNT fans who were hoping to catch the band live again. "I feel bad about it for myself, because I really wanted this to work so badly. I was having a great time. In fact, I posted three videos, I think, on my page after the last shows that we did because I was so proud of the band for how well I thought we were playing. So, ultimately, I feel very, very bad for all the fans that never got to see the band, 'cause I was really looking forward to coming to America. We were starting to get some really good offers for some really good festivals in the U.S., and I was excited about it. And a lot of other countries and a lot of other things were coming together, and then, all of a sudden, it was done."

Harnell added that was aware of the fact that he was being blamed by many of the TNT fans for his latest departure from the group. "I don't read Blabbermouth — I don't," he said. "I mean, I read the stories, but I don't read the comments under the stories, because those are dangerous to read. But I know just from peeking at my page and having to delete a few things here and there, and over at the TNT page, and then hearing from a few friends some things that the people were saying some not-such-nice things. But, honestly, at the end of the day, I don't really hold it against them, because they don't know. They weren't there, and anything they're hearing is either second-hand or third-hand [information]."

SKID ROW guitarist Dave "Snake" Sabo told the "Trunk Nation" show last November that things fell apart so quickly with Harnell because "some things just aren't meant to work… they just don't work together. Knowing him before and then working with him, it was two separate… it really was two different things," he explained. "A lot of conflict, a lot of butting heads, and it just… it never meshed, it was never right. We knew him for a long time, [but we] never worked with him — never worked in a band situation, in a band environment with him. And you know what — for better or for worse, this is our band; it belongs to us. And so if someone is gonna come in and work with us, we have a certain way that we do things, and that may not work for some people. It didn't work for him. Look, [he's] a talented guy; it just wasn't right for us."

Harnell was replaced in SKID ROW by South African-born, British-based singer ZP Theart, who previously fronted DRAGONFORCE, TANK and I AM I.

Last November, TNT recruited Baol Bardot Bulsara as the band's new singer. The Spanish vocalist made his live debut with TNT on November 22 at the Oslo Spektrum on Oslo, Norway, where the group performed as the support act for the SCORPIONS.

On March 23, Frontiers Music Srl will release a box set collecting all the solo works of acclaimed Grammy-nominated composer Kip Winger into one collection. The set will be comprised of Kip's solo albums, including:

The "Solo Box Set Collection" will be a strictly limited edition of 1,500 copies (worldwide) and include five CDs in vinyl replica cases and a booklet with liner notes written by Kip Winger.

Kip Winger rode the wave of the '80s/early '90s pop-metal explosion first with Alice Cooper and then in the wildly successful band of his namesake, WINGER, before beginning a solo career in the late '90s. His debut solo effort, "This Conversation Seems Like A Dream", was released in 1997 and supported with a solo acoustic tour. An acoustic album featuring the new track "Another Way" and of past favorites, "Down Incognito", was then released in 1999. Winger followed it with his second proper solo album, 2000's "Songs From The Ocean Floor", which addressed his grief over the loss of his wife, who had passed away in a car accident shortly after the release of his first solo album. After a long hiatus with his solo work, Kip returned with "From The Moon To The Sun" in 2008; an extensive body of work that includes everything from straight-up heavy and dark music to absolutely melodic and beautiful works.

More recently, Winger has enjoyed success composing classical music. Choreographer Christopher Wheeldon created the ballet "Ghosts", based on a piece Kip wrote, which premiered at the San Francisco Ballet on February 9, 2010. The ballet was a hit and was brought back for a five seasons in 2010. "Ghosts" will make its Nashville debut in May 2018 with Nashville Ballet. Winger then composed a four-part work titled "Conversations With Nijinsky", intended to celebrate the life of ballet dancer and choreographer Vaslav Nijinsky. A recording of the piece performed by the San Francisco Ballet Orchestra on the album "C.F. Kip Winger: Conversations With Nijinsky" entered at No. 1 on the traditional classical category on the Billboard music charts. "Conversations With Nijinsky" was also nominated in the "Best Classical Contemporary Composition" category at the 59th annual Grammy Awards.

SAXON frontman Biff Byford spoke to France's Loud TV about the passing of "Fast" Eddie Clarke. The former MOTÖRHEAD and FASTWAY guitarist died on Wednesday (January 10) after a battle with pneumonia. He was 67 years old.

"I knew it [Wednesday] night, actually, about an hour after he died," Biff said. "It's sad news. He was a great guy and he was a good friend of ours."

Byford said that Clarke had sent him a "Happy New Year" message a couple of weeks ago, and revealed that the guitarist was originally scheduled to make a guest appearance on the SAXON song "They Played Rock And Roll", which is featured on the band's upcoming album, "Thunderbolt". "They Played Rock And Roll" was written about and is dedicated to MOTÖRHEAD, with whom SAXON first toured nearly 40 years ago.

Clarke was a member of MOTÖRHEAD from 1976 until 1982. He was one-third of the band's classic lineup, which also included drummer Philthy "Animal" Taylor, who died in November 2015 of liver failure. Ian "Lemmy" Kilmister succumbed to cancer the following month.

"['They Played Rock And Roll' is a tribute] to MOTÖRHEAD, 1979 MOTÖRHEAD, which is [Eddie] and Phil and Lemmy," Biff said. I wrote the song before Lemmy died. I just wanted to do a song about MOTÖRHEAD and England in 1979; that's what the song's about, how it was then, back in the day.

"You try to take people back to the period — you try to take the older fans back to the '80s and you try to take the young fans back there to experience the music from there. It's a bit like the song 'They Played Rock And Roll' — that's the idea: to take people back to England in 1979, 1980, what it was — what was the environment. The political environment in 1979 was crazy; it was very anarchy, chaos then."

Clarke, Taylor and Lemmy appeared on five albums together: MOTÖRHEAD's 1977 self-titled debut, 1979's "Overkill" and "Bomber", 1980's "Ace Of Spades" and 1982's "Iron Fist".

"[Eddie's] music will live on, with MOTÖRHEAD and FASTWAY," Biff said. "He was a great guitarist.

"It's sad that the three original [MOTÖRHEAD] members have gone now," he added. But, he said, "They'll be somewhere together, I'm sure, hell-raising."

"Thunderbolt" will be released on February 2 via Militia Guard (Silver Lining Music). The follow-up to 2015's "Battering Ram" was once again helmed by producer Andy Sneap, who has previously worked with JUDAS PRIEST, MEGADETH, ACCEPT and TESTAMENT, among others.

Los Angeles-based alternative rock band DOROTHY has released the new track "Flawless", the first single from its forthcoming sophomore album, "28 Days In The Valley", due out March 9. It's a vulnerable message that begins with heartbreak and ends as a vindicated feel good anthem of self-love.

"It's about an ex who really did a number on me," reveals namesake and frontwoman Dorothy Martin. "This one came fast to me. It was very subconscious... like I'm channeling them. Linda Perry pulled the lightness out of me, both personally and musically. This record is definitely still bold, but it's happier. It's kind of like the butterfly coming out of the cocoon."

"'Flawless' is the best song ever and if you don't think so, you can fuck off," says Perry.

The new album has the in-your-face bluesy, gritty rock and roll fans loved on 2016's "Rockisdead", and the band's recent standalone single, "Down To The Bottom", which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Heatseekers chart and Rolling Stone called the "perfect mix of blues thunder and alt-rock guitar crunch." But, added to that thunder this time around are more layers of emotion fueled by less metal, more California desert rock vibes.

"This was a spiritual journey and very healing, and because of that it's an unapologetically honest record," says Martin of the new album. "Somehow Linda knew I had more to give as a singer and writer. I used to hide behind the tough girl sound, but she taught me that there is power in my vulnerability and that's what you get on this record."

The release of the long awaited self-titled debut album by Northern Ireland-based band, No Hot Ashes, is scheduled for March 23rd. Pre-order here.

Originally formed in 1983, No Hot Ashes were influenced by UFO, Ozzy Osbourne, Whitesnake, Journey, Foreigner, Thin Lizzy and other classic rock/AOR acts of that era. They released their first single, "She Drives Me Crazy", in 1986 and supported bands such as Mama’s Boys, Magnum, Girlschool and Steve Marriott’s Packet Of Three.

The group signed a record deal with GWR Records in early 1988, joining Motorhead, Girlschool and Hawkwind on that label’s roster. They also relocated to London in order to be closer to the company and made an album before the end of that year. However, delays then occurred in getting it released and by the end of 1990 the band had called it a day and the record was shelved.

That should have been it, but in September 2013 NHA reformed for a one-off tribute gig which subsequently snowballed. Performing what can be described as classic melodic rock with a contemporary twist, they have been delighting new fans in the years since with their hook-laden guitar and keyboard driven songs, supporting Aerosmith, Foreigner, UFO and Scorpions along the way and touring the UK with FM and Romeo’s Daughter. They have also performed at major festivals such as Hard Rock Hell AOR, Download, London Calling, Ramblin’ Man, Steelhouse, Rockingham and the Frontiers Rock Festival in Milan, going down a storm each time.

NHA are currently preparing to hit the road in support of what is now a very eagerly anticipated debut album, with shows already planned for late spring and summer 2018. Unfortunately for the group, the pleasure of releasing the album is also tinged with great sadness as founding member, bass player and close friend Paul Boyd tragically lost a brave battle with cancer in 2017. Paul appears on the album and the band are respectfully dedicating its release to his memory.

Besides Michael Schenker and the three M.S.G. singers Gary Barden, Graham Bonnet and Robin McAuley, you can also hear Doogie White (Michael Schenker's Temple Of Rock) as well as musicians Steve Mann (guitars, keyboards), Ted McKenna (drums) and Chris Glen (bass). In addition, there are also some guest appearances from Kirk Hammett, Wayne Findlay and Michael Voss-Schoen included.

Mike Portnoy says that it's "sad to see" RUSH come to an end but he believes that the legendary Canadian rock band deserves respect for "going out on top."

RUSH guitarist Alex Lifeson recently said that his band has no plans to tour or record again in the future. His comments came two years after chronic tendinitis-suffering drummer Neil Peart described himself as "retired" following the completion of RUSH's North American tour.

Speaking to "The Chainsaw Symphony" radio show, Portnoy said that he understood why Lifeson, Peart and bassist/vocalist Geddy Lee would want to call it quits while they were still at the peak of their playing ability.

"I grew up with [RUSH] and I went through a huge RUSH phase in the mid-'80s, early '80s when I was a teenager," he said (hear audio below). "Neil was always my hero back then, and since then I'm honored that we've become good friends and I cherish that relationship. And I've stayed a RUSH fan through all these years.

"It's sad to see it end, but you've gotta respect that, because if they can't deliver, and if they are in physical pain and they can't deliver what fans wanna see, I respect that they would go out on top," the former DREAM THEATER drummer continued. "I don't like when I see bands that are just a memory of what they used to be, and there's a few out there that I've seen recently that are still touring… I'm not gonna name them, but some of the members can barely play their parts, and then they have a lot of other members that weren't even originally in the band. So I don't know. I would rather see a band like RUSH go out on top and have all the good memories of what they're capable of."

Geddy said in a 2016 interview that he had "accepted" that RUSH's last batch of live shows was "probably the last one as a tour."

Lifeson and Lee confirmed that RUSH will never do a show unless all three musicians agree to take part.

Portnoy's main project at the moment is SONS OF APOLLO, which also features guitarist Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal (ex-GUNS N' ROSES), bassist Billy Sheehan (THE WINERY DOGS, MR. BIG, DAVID LEE ROTH) and vocalist Jeff Scott Soto (ex-JOURNEY, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN'S RISING FORCE).

British heavy metal legends JUDAS PRIEST have released the following statement to BLABBERMOUTH.NET regarding the death of their former drummer Dave Holland:

"It is with regret that we hear of the passing of Dave Holland. Despite his actions since working with the band, his time with us was amongst the most productive and successful in the band's career and for that alone he shall be missed."

According to the Spanish newspaper El Progreso, Holland died on Tuesday, January 16 at Hospital Universitario Lucus Augusti in Lugo, Spain. The cause of his death has not been revealed, but his body has already been cremated, according to the newspaper.

The 69-year-old Holland had reportedly been residing in Fonsagrada, a town and municipality in the province of Lugo in northwest Spain, after spending several years in a British jail for attempting to rape a teenage boy. The drummer was sentenced in January 2004 of trying to assault the 17-year-old in his cottage in Northamptonshire, England, while giving him drumming lessons. The abuse was revealed in a letter written by the teenager to his parents.

Holland always denied any involvement in the attempted rape of the special-needs student and was at one point said to be planning to write a tell-all biography of his life and career.

According to El Progreso, Dave lived discreetly in a secluded part of Spain and was described by the neighbors who knew him as "very kind and polite."

Dave joined PRIEST in 1979 and stayed in the band for a decade, playing on such classic albums as "British Steel" (1980), "Point Of Entry" (1981), "Screaming For Vengeance" (1982), "Defenders Of The Faith" (1984), "Turbo" (1986), and "Ram It Down" (1988). He exited the band in 1989 and was replaced by Scott Travis. Holland was also a founding member of TRAPEZE alongside Glenn Hughes and Mel Galley, his bandmates from a previous group named FINDERS KEEPERS.

Jim Rodford, bass player with The Zombies and a former member of The Kinks and Argent, has died after a fall at his home. He was 76.

Rodford had just returned home to The UK after a short our of Florida with The Zombies. His final performance was on January 14 at the 30a Songwriters Festival in Miramar Beach, Florida.

Rodford's cousin, Zombies singer Rod Argent, has paid tribute, saying, "It is with deep sadness that I learned this morning that my dear cousin and lifelong friend, Jim Rodford, died this morning after a fall on the stairs.

"When Colin [Bluntstone] and I put together our second incarnation of The Zombies in late 1999, our first phone call was to Jim. He gave us absolutely unflagging commitment, loyalty and unbelievable energy for eighteen years, and our gratitude is beyond measure.

"Jim was a wonderful person, loved by everybody. When Colin and I, shocked and hardly able to talk, shared the news this morning, Colin said, "I've never heard anyone say a bad word about him..." He will be unbelievably missed. Goodnight and God Bless dear friend."

In a statement on Facebook, Colin Bluntstone said, "I am so desperately sorry to hear that Jim passed away last night! I’m still in shock and find it hard to believe what has happened. Jim was such a wonderful character, loved by all who knew him. He was a great bass player and vocalist a real musicians musician who loved music especially playing live and seemed to know every band we ever played with. They would come to our dressing room and usually walk straight past Rod and I simply asking 'is Jim around?'.

"On the rare occasions The Zombies got into a musical tangle he had the authority and skill to always pull us back together again and we are really going to miss his playing and his beautiful spirit, he was an inspiration and a good friend. I am so proud to say I played with Jim Rodford!"

Rodford played an important role at the beginning of The Zombies’ career in 1961, lending them equipment and coaching them through their first rehearsals. He performed with skiffle group The Bluetones and with Mike Cotton's jazz band before joining Argent in his eponymously named band following the break-up of The Zombies in 1968.

Argent’s had hit singles with Hold Your Head Up in 1972 and with God Gave Rock & Roll To You (famously covered by Kiss) the following year, before the group broke up in 1976. Rodford was then asked to join The Kinks, debuting with the band on 1979's Low Budget album. He remained in The Kinks until they broke up in 1996.

Founding JUDAS PRIEST guitarist K.K. Downing has commented on the passing of the band's former drummer, Dave Holland.

Downing said in a statement: "It is with deep regret that I have to accept the sudden and unexpected news that Dave Holland has passed away. Dave was a solid friend in life and solid musician both on the stage and in the studio; I will cherish the many gigs we played together and the albums that we made and I will always be grateful to the indelible contribution that Dave gave to JUDAS PRIEST.

"My sincere condolences to all of Dave's loved ones family and friends and to all of the fans that so much appreciated Dave's musical ability and his life's work.

"R.I.P. Dave."

According to the Spanish newspaper El Progreso, the 69-year-old Holland died on Tuesday, January 16 at Hospital Universitario Lucus Augusti in Lugo, Spain. The cause of his death has not been revealed, but his body has already been cremated, according to the newspaper.

K.K. announced his retirement from PRIEST in April 2011. He has since been replaced by Richie Faulkner, who was once the guitarist in the backing group for Lauren Harris, daughter of IRON MAIDEN bassist Steve Harris.

SLAYER guitarist Kerry King will continue making new music, even after the band calls it quits as a touring act.

The pioneering Los Angeles thrash metal band announced on Monday that it would be "moving on" after doing one last concert tour around the globe to thank their fans for all of their support over the past three and a half decades.

After the news broke yesterday, King's wife Ayesha posted a photo on Instagram of her husband apparently standing, with his mouth wide open, in front of a wall-mounted goat-headed figure with horns. "Kerry just heard the news about SLAYER's farewell tour!" she joked in an accompanying caption. "He sprouted horns! He says not to worry, you'll always get music from him."

King has said in previous interviews that his post-SLAYER musical efforts would not be much different from the sound fans have grown accustomed to hearing from him.

"If someone quit, I'm not going to go around with a made-up SLAYER," he told AZCentral.com back in 2010. "But my next band would sound like SLAYER, that's all I know."

King told Rolling Stone in 2015 that he had entertained the idea of working on a solo project. "There's plenty of people that I considered doing [one] with ... but I have to have SLAYER covered before I consider anything like that," he said at the time.

Also in 2015, a short time before Lemmy passed away, King told a Danish radio station that he hoped SLAYER would follow MOTÖRHEAD's lead of continuing to perform as long as they're capable of playing live. But, he added, "there's a physicality in what we do that's never been MOTÖRHEAD. When you see them, they play their instruments and they're awesome. That's what you've gotten from day one. Ours has been more of an event — there's stuff going on."

Although SLAYER frontman Tom Araya had neck surgery in 2010 and had to give up his trademark headbanging, King said "We've picked up the slack. Me and Gary Holt [guitar] put on a show. Paul Bostaph [drums] puts on a show. Tom has actually gotten better at singing and playing bass since he's not throwing his head every which direction. So I think, at a time if we couldn't put on a show, I hope I'm smart enough to say, 'Let's do a farewell tour right now and chop it.' Don't give anybody that view of seeing you in a way that you shouldn't be seen."

SLAYER's latest studio album, "Repentless", came out in September 2015, two years after the years after the death of guitarist Jeff Hanneman, who formed the band with Kerry in 1981.

In 2016, Araya hinted that it was time to "collect my pension" after 35 years in music, although he said he still loved playing live.

Original SLAYER drummer Dave Lombardo has left the band on at least three different occasions, including in 2013, when he was once again replaced by former FORBIDDEN drummer Paul Bostaph.

According to The Pulse Of Radio, Rob Zombie is rumored to be aiming for a March production start on his next movie, a sequel to his 2005 horror hit "The Devil's Rejects". Allegedly titled "The Devil's Rejects 2: Three From Hell", the film is said to continue the story of the Firefly clan — Sid Haig as Captain Spaulding, Bill Moseley as Otis and Sheri Moon Zombie as Baby — whom we saw go down in a torrent of bullets at the end of the first film.

It's not clear whether Zombie plans to resurrect the Firefly trio from the dead in some kind of supernatural fashion in the new film or has found a way to explain that they survived the original movie's climactic shootout.

"The Devil's Rejects" is widely considered Zombie's best film. It's a semi-sequel to his directorial debut, 2003's "House Of 1,000 Corpses", which introduced the Firefly family.

Zombie told The Pulse Of Radio a while back that he was approached by the studio in record time about making a sequel to "House Of 1,000 Corpses". "I went away for the weekend [the film opened], so they couldn't find me till Monday," he said. "So it was basically Monday. I think the film opened, like, on Thursday and I was gone, and they couldn't find me, so by Monday they were already talking about it. Depending upon what you spent and what you made, I mean, that movie was profitable after one day. Whereas you get these other movies where they're, like, 'Oh my God, it made $100 million!' and it's still $100 million in the hole because they just spent so much."

According to Bloody Disgusting, Zombie is in negotiations with Saban Films and Lionsgate to release "The Devil's Rejects 2" in theaters, VOD, and home video. Zombie distributed his last movie, the partially crowdfunded "31", through both companies.

SLAYER, LAMB OF GOD and BEHEMOTH last hit the road in North America together in the summer of 2017.

TESTAMENT and SLAYER previously joined forces for a North American tour in early 2016. Also appearing on the bill were British extreme metal pioneers CARCASS.

SLAYER's latest album, "Repentless", was released in September 2015 via Nuclear Blast. The disc debuted at No. 4 on The Billboard 200 with first-week sales of 50,000 equivalent album units.

ANTHRAX will release its long-awaited live-in-concert DVD, "Kings Among Scotland", on April 27 via Megaforce. The DVD will be preceded by ANTHRAX's North American co-headline tour with KILLSWITCH ENGAGE — "KillThrax 2018" — set to kick off January 25 in Montreal.

LAMB OF GOD's 2017 tour with SLAYER and BEHEMOTH kicked off on July 12 in Bemidji, Minnesota and concluded on August 20 in Phoenix, Arizona. The group's latest release was an EP called "The Duke", which came out in November 2016 via Epic.

MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine hopes that there will be at least one more show featuring the so-called "Big Four" of 1980s thrash metal — METALLICA, MEGADETH, SLAYER and ANTHRAX — before SLAYER retires from touring.

SLAYER announced on Monday that it will embark on one "final" world tour before calling it quits as a touring act.

Last night, Mustaine reacted to the news via Twitter, writing: "I hope for at least one more Big 4 Show before the end of SLAYER's final tour. It just wouldn't be right. Anyone else with me?"

The four influential acts played together for the first time in history on June 16, 2010 in front of 81,000 fans at the Sonisphere festival at Bemowo Airport in Warsaw, Poland and shared a bill again for six more shows as part of the Sonisphere series that same year. They reunited again for several dates in 2011, including the last "Big Four" concert, which was held on September 14, 2011 at Yankee Stadium in New York City. Since then, METALLICA, SLAYER and ANTHRAX have played a number of shows together, including the 2013 Soundwave festival in Australia. They also performed at the 2014 Heavy MTL festival in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

SLAYER guitarist Kerry King said in a recent interview that enjoyed playing the "Big Four" shows much more than he initially thought he would. "When we started doing those, I thought it was gonna really rad for the fans, and it wound up being really rad for me as well as the fans," he said. "I didn't think it would be that big a deal, but I loved the hell out of 'em. 'Cause us and METALLICA, we've never been at odds, but we just ran in different circles. And I hadn't seen those guys in probably 20 years, and then to do a handful of shows with them, it was totally fun. I'd hang out with Lars [Ulrich, METALLICA drummer] on days off, 'cause he's like the going-out guy, and I'm the going-out guy. So we did that. Kirk [Hammett, METALLICA guitarist] would be hanging out backstage. I've known [Robert] Trujillo [METALLICA bassist] forever. James [Hetfield, METALLICA frontman], I've known James since the '80s."

Hammett said last year that he believed that the "Big Four" idea would be revisited again. He explained: "I see those shows as kind of like a celebration — a real celebration of each other, and a real celebration of the music that we all make, and a real celebration of the audience embracing [what] we've done. And why not have more of that?"

In a 2016 interview with TeamRock, Mustaine said he would be open to a repeat of the "Big Four" tour. He said: "We've got a lot of great stuff going on, but if 'Big Four' stuff presented itself, we'd probably yield to that, because it's a lot more fun and it's such an event that it takes precedence over just another tour, so to speak."

He continued: "When fans get to have four of the greatest heavy metal bands of all time on the same stage, that's something you can tell your grandkids about."

Five years ago, SLAYER frontman Tom Araya said that the only thing that was standing in the way of further "Big Four" shows was "the politics of character in one particular band," with some fans speculating that he was talking about Mustaine and MEGADETH.

In his autobiography, "Mustaine: A Heavy Metal Memoir", Mustaine addressed the issue of where his band fit in the "Big Four" order. According to The New York Times, he assured the reader that he was not offended by being put behind SLAYER. But he added an interior monologue: "O.K., we'll play ahead of you guys on this trip, and God willing we'll do it again sometime in the near future and we can flip things around."

German thrashers DESTRUCTION have parted ways with their longtime drummer Wawrzyniec "Vaaver" Dramowicz. According to frontman Schmier, Vaaver has decided to leave the group "for family reasons." But while Schmier calls the split with Dramowicz "very sad," the bassist/vocalist is quick to add: "We won't split up and we won't do a farewell tour."

Vaaver, who joined DESTRUCTION in 2010, took some time off from the road in 2015 to be with his family following the birth of his second child. He was temporarily replaced by former PRIMAL FEAR and ANNIHILATOR drummer Randy Black.

In a 2016 interview with Metal Paths, Schmier stated about Vaaver: "He's a very strong drummer, the best drummer we've ever had. And he's also a very good personality; he fits really good in the band. On the other hand, he's a father and he lives in Poland. So it's a little complicated sometimes when stuff comes together for touring. So I don't know if he's going to be in the band forever. I really hope so. We don't wanna change drummers. It just happens because not everybody is as consistent as we are. A lot of them changed their lives, make decisions they weren't ready for, had jobs, but you have to accept it."

DESTRUCTION last year released a new "best-of-old-school" album, "Thrash Anthems II", via Nuclear Blast. The follow-up to 2007's "Thrash Anthems" once again featured re-recorded versions of some of the band's timeless classics.

The clip was shot in Los Angeles by director Billy Jayne. The song is taken from JOSH TODD & THE CONFLICT's debut album, "Year Of The Tiger", which was released last September via Century Media.

"Year Of The Tiger" was co-produced by Dacanay and STONE TEMPLE PILOTS drummer Eric Kretz.

Regarding the motivation to start this new project, Josh said: "I have a lot of story telling in me and I always wanted to start another band. Something more reckless and off-the-beaten rock path.

"A lot of changes had taken place in BUCKCHERRY and I didn't want to go another year without making new music.

"BUCKCHERRY is in a great place; we have a great new lineup. However, my full attention is on JOSH TODD & THE CONFLICT. We're gonna do a worldwide tour behind this. My goal is to give each band a break, so I can stay consistently making music without over touring and build both situations into something really cool."

He continued: "It was time for me to make a record. It has been two years since I put out new music and that's a long time for me. I am a student of the game and this was an opportunity to not just make a traditional-sounding rock record like I have been doing in the past. THE CONFLICT stuff is heavy, melodic and honest, with a lot of risk taking, and these are the records that bring out the best in me."

She co-founded QUEEN DIAMOND, a tribute band to KING DIAMOND. Courtney moved to Los Angeles in 2009, after which she officially became a member of the world-touring tribute band THE IRON MAIDENS. As a member of THE IRON MAIDENS, Cox's stage name is "Adriana Smith", a female version of IRON MAIDEN guitarist Adrian Smith. Courtney has also been a full-time member of FEMME FATALE since 2013.

Lindsay Martin grew up in Upstate New York and started playing drums at the age of ten. Being an accomplished drummer at a young age, she earned a scholarship to USC's Music Program. Lindsay's spent time touring Europe, worked as a respected drum technician and volunteers her skills at music camps for kids. Previously she's played with THE AVIATORS and GLAM SKANKS. She's known for her aggressive rock n' roll style and precision, citing Tommy Lee and John Bonham as influences.

Emily Ruvidich is a multi-faceted musician. In addition to guitar and bass, she's an accomplished classical pianist. Although she's only twenty years old, Emily has toured nationally with several tribute bands and is currently holding down a residency in Las Vegas with all-girl cover group MISTY DAY, playing guitar and keyboard.

U.S. rock and roll survivors LITTLE CAESAR have signed a global deal with Golden Robot Records for the release of their new album, "Eight", on March 16.

LITTLE CAESAR fuses no-nonsense hard rock that harks back to '70s giants such as BAD COMPANY and HUMBLE PIE with an aching ZZ TOP groove and overlay it with classic R&B melodies to produce some mighty fine straight-up good-time rock and roll!

"Eight" is the band's first studio album in six years and lead single "Time Enough For That" is a reflective, semi power ballad that is a total lighters (or phones) in the air AOR smash! British hard rockers, Bigfoot, have released a video for "Freak Show", a track from their new self-titled album. Check it out below.

With a wide range of influences from The Eagles through to Pantera, the group boasts the powerful vocals of Antony Ellis, dual lead guitars from Sam Millar and Mick McCullagh, plus the thunderous rhythm section of bassist Matt Avery and drummer Tom Aspinall.

The self-titled debut album was co-produced by the band with Justin Richards (who also mixed the record), and consists of eleven songs.

Greek technical death metal group Murder Made God have officially the joined the Unique Leader Records roster. The band is hard at work writing their third full length and Unique Leader debut and are expected to enter the studio in the coming months.

The band said in a collective statement, "It’s an honor for us to join forces with Unique Leader Records and be part of such a great roster. We are working hard for the forthcoming album and soon we will be able to deliver a really special release. Moreover, some new elements will demonstrate that we are taking our music to a new level. This partnership with Unique Leader is a huge step for the band’s progress and of course an opportunity to reach some new audiences worldwide."

Greek technical death metal group Murder Made God was formed in 2011 and saw the members hugely refining the sound that they had developed in their previous bands. They wasted no time getting into the studio and before the year’s end they had released a 3 song demo which was met with praise from both fans and critics alike. The band continued to build their momentum with the release of their debut full length Irreverence in 2013. Many shows and a tour with Hour of Penance and Abhorrent Decimation later the band released their second album Enslaved in 2016 on Comatose Music.

The clip below features Anneke van Giersbergen (VUUR, ex-The Gathering) performing "Cloudbusting", a Kate Bush cover. This session was recorded in the Gibson Bus during Eurosonic Noorderslag in Groningen, Netherlands on January 18th.

Progressive death metal band, Uncured, have released a live video for their track "Myopic", recorded over five nights in Canada in 2017. Watch below:

Uncured kicks off 2018 with a bang joining the Point Blank With Soulfly (Nailbomb Set) Tour, alongside Today Is The Day and Lodi Kong. The band will follow that up with a tour supporting Cradle Of Filth and Jinger across North America, which kicks off in Dallas on March 29th.

Says the band: "We released our first album, Medusa, in March of 2016 and within just a week of the release we went out on our first tour with Katatonia. Uncured's first stage performance ever was opening for Katatonia in front of a sold-out crowd in Washington DC. Since that debut we have played another 74 shows across North America, touring with bands such as DevilDriver and Children Of Bodom. We have all been blown away by the positive fan response to us in our first 6 months of touring and we have made tons of new friends on the road.  

"We are very excited to get back on the road in 2018 and already have two North American tours announced. The first is 29 dates with Soulfly, which includes 19 shows in Canada. Immediately after this Uncured will play 24 dates with Cradle Of Filth as part of their Cryptoriana World Tour. Uncured is excited and honoured to be playing with these two iconic metal bands. We hope to add one more major tour in the summer before returning to  the studio to record our second album.  

"Medusa was named as one of the "10 Best Metal Albums" of 2017 by AXS.com, and the record has set a high bar for us in writing our second album. Uncured is constantly working on new music, and we have already recorded a few pre-production tracks. Our second album will be heavier and darker than Medusa, but will also retain many of Medusa's groovier elements. We expect to release the new record in early 2019, hopefully followed by several tours around the globe."
