ANNIHILATOR Release “Sounds Good To Me” Acoustic Video From Upcoming Triple Threat CollectionLegendary Canadian thrash/heavy metal masters, Annihilator, recently announced the upcoming release of Triple Threat - a three-disc collection of their music based in a trio of very different scenarios. Today, the band have revealed an acoustic video for their classic "Sounds Good To Me", the very first track to be released from disc one of the set, Un-Plugged: The Watersound Studios Sessions. Watch below:
Annihilator, have lacerated many senses over the years with their supreme, aggressive metal mastery, and on January 27th, their legion of loyal fans can look forward to a series of fresh sensory experiences as Annihilator present Triple Threat. A video trailer for the upcoming release can be found below.
The main disc comprises a set of Annihilator’s classics performed acoustically, with band leader/guitarist/ songwriter and vocalist Jeff Waters bringing together band members Aaron Homma and Richard Hinks, Vancouver, BC drummer and friend Marc LeFrance plus Ottawa session player Pat Robillard. Recorded and mixed by Waters (with Marty Sobb), this quintet recorded everything live, off the floor and in single takes at Watersound Studios in Dunrobin, Canada during late May and early June, 2016, giving Waters one of the most challenging, satisfying and perhaps ‘electric’ creative moments in his career.
The second disc will feature Annihilator’s vicious set from the 2016 Bang Your Head Festival, a set which illustrates the very best of what Annihilator is known for – tight, sharp, technically-excellent and melodic thrash metal music. It will also contain some exclusive inside-Annihilator off-stage perspective, courtesy of Jeff Waters’ own camera, which captures further elements, flavours and detail of the band which fans will flip over.
“This was one of the coolest things I have done in my long career. Having five people in a room, from all different backgrounds and talents, coming together to play songs from the past and to try to sound like we are one but totally live and with feel. This was one of the biggest challenges that Annihilator has faced, musically, but what impressed me the most was how you can hear all the individual styles each player has and how we were able to glue the playing and feel together. Done all in one take and with all the musical blemishes and imperfections that I would never normally let slide!
“This set covers some of the melodic songs, one even from 1984 (when a few of these guys were not even born!) and I just had to do this once in my life… to challenge myself and maybe show some others that it’s not always just about the metal and the thrash! Rock n’ Roll & and ballads are found everywhere in Heavy Metal.
“Annihilator are made up of a helluva lot of styles, mixed into one. That’s exactly what kind of musicians I put together for this set… a mixed bag of Rockers & Metalheads and they made our legacy proud!
“Enjoy… we sure love this one.” - Jeff Waters
Triple Threat will be available via UDR Music in several formats, including DVD/2CDs, Blu-Ray/2CDs, a 2CD audio-only and digital download.

Original MASSACRE Drummer BILL ANDREWS - “The Name MASSACRE Cannot And Will Not Be Used Without Our Permission”Last week it was announced that Rick Rozz DeLillo (guitar) and Kam Lee (vocals) have resurrected legendary death metal band Massacre, along with Michael Grim (The End - bass, vocals) and Mike Mazzonetto (drums). The group will operate under the name Massacre X (the “X” is silent and represents the band’s 10th lineup).
Bassist Terry Butler (Massacre, Obituary) has since contacted BraveWords with the following message from original Massacre drummer, Bill Andrews:
“In light of the recent news that a version of Massacre are back on the scene, I would like to remind the parties involved, Rick Rozz and Kam Lee, that I started Massacre in 1984. As was my right, the name Massacre has been trademarked internationally by myself and Terry Butler. The name Massacre CANNOT and WILL NOT be used without our permission.”
Stay tuned for updates on this situation.
As previously reported, Massacre X aim to get back to the original sound, style, aggression, and passion of the Massacre, originally launched over 25 years ago. The band are scheduling tours for North and Latin America and Europe, as well as other regions around the world.
Kam Lee joined The End on December 9th in Melbourne, Florida to perform several Massacre songs. Check out some footage of “Dawn Of Eternity” below and stay tuned for updates. 1

IMMOLATION: First Trailer For 'Atonement' AlbumNew York death metallers IMMOLATION will release their new album, "Atonement", on February 24 via Nuclear Blast.
The first trailer for "Atonement", in which vocalist/bassist Ross Dolan and guitarist Bob Vigna discuss what lead up to the creation of the record, can be seen below.
"Atonement" was recorded at Millbrook Sound Studios in Millbrook, New York with longtime producer Paul Orofino, and mixed and mastered once again by Zack Ohren (ALL SHALL PERISH, DECREPIT BIRTH, SUFFOCATION). Cover art was created by renowned artist Pär Olofsson (IMMORTAL, THE FACELESS, EXODUS, ABYSMAL DAWN), along with additional artwork by the very talented Zbigniew Bielak (GHOST, ENSLAVED, PARADISE LOST, WATAIN).
A 360-degree visualizer video for the first single from the effort, "Destructive Currents", can be seen below.
Comments Dolan: "We are excited that everyone will finally get a preview of what the new record has to offer.
"'Atonement' is a very dark and haunting album, both musically and lyrically, commenting on the darker side of humanity and the world today. Each song on this album is unique in its own way, offering the listener a wide range of dark and sinister passages that I think really hone in on all the elements that make this band what it is.
"The sound of this record is exactly what we were hoping for, and we feel the production really gives these songs that massive sound and dark sinister feel they needed. Zack and Paul really nailed it with this one and made our tenth album our best-sounding record to date. We are all very proud of what we have created here, and we hope everyone else will enjoy these eleven songs as much as we think they will.
"The song 'Atonement' is about that blind fury and destructivnes of religious extremism regardless of where it comes from and under what religious banner it flies. The cover piece was inspired by a passage of lyrics from this song, and Pär managed to create a visual for those four lines that just blew us away. So needless to say, we are very pleased with the overall look and feel of the album, which also includes four amazing pieces of artwork done by the extremely talented Zbigniew Bielak.
"We chose the song 'Destructive Currents' as the first song to leak to the fans because it's a fast and aggressive song that gets right down to business. It's just dark and powerful, and I think it gives everyone a sense of whats in store for them with this release. Lyrically, the song deals with the herd/mob mentality and how it gets fed, manipulated and exploited by outside forces. These are the currents of deception, misinformation and destruction, which are designed to mislead people. So that's really the idea behind the song lyrically."
Pre-order a physical copy of "Atonement" by itself or in various bundles from the Nuclear Blast webshop.
"Destructive Currents" is now available as an instant download when you pre-order "Atonement" from iTunes and Amazon.
"Atonement" track listing:
01. The Distorting Light 02. When The Jackals Come 03. Fostering The Divide 04. Rise The Heretics 05. Thrown To The Fire 06. Destructive Currents 07. Lower08. Atonement09. Above All10. The Power Of Gods 11. Epiphany
Bonus track (CD only):
12. Immolation (re-recorded)
IMMOLATION is:

Video: Former QUEENSRŸCHE Singer GEOFF TATE Performs Acoustically In Velden, AustriaFan-filmed video footage of former QUEENSRŸCHE and current OPERATION: MINDCRIME vocalist Geoff Tate performing an acoustic set at the Bluesiana rock café in Velden, Austria on December 13 can be seen below.
"Resurrection", the second album from OPERATION: MINDCRIME, was released on September 23 via Frontiers Music Srl. The album is the second part of Tate's musical trilogy. He explained in a recent interview: "It continues the story that began on the first album 'The Key' with the near-death experience of the lead character known as 'H' and his subsequent recovery of the missing encryption key. With the Key finally in his possession, 'H' has everything he needs to finally launch his long awaited project called 'The New Reality'. Or does he..." The singer continued: "I'm excited for people to hear and experience 'Resurrection' because I think it answers some of the questions that were posed in the first album, 'The Key'. Musically, it offers some of the most diverse and challenging material that I've ever written."
Asked about the viability of making albums in an age where anything that isn't instant invariably struggles to gain currency with the masses, Tate told "The Classic Metal Show": "Oh, I don't know, really, about that. My records are paid for upfront. So I get paid for them. The company that buys them, they have to recoup that money back by their ability to sell them, I suppose."
He continued: "I love making new music, and I'll always write new material and perform it. That's what I love most in life."
Tate did acknowledge, however, that diminishing record sales have resulted in record companies investing less funds into breaking younger artists and promoting new releases.
"There isn't the economy to support record companies anymore, or the families of the people that work at record companies," he explained. "That industry is completely gutted from what it was."
He added: "It's like everything. Times change, the world moves on, and you have to adapt to the new and changing world. It's very similar to people lamenting the loss of their jobs overseas to different places. Well, that's just the way things work, and you have to adapt and you can't keep pining away for the way things used to be; you have to create what's now and be part of the conversation and be part of the changes that need to be made.
"I see a lot of times people just get really hung up on the way things used to be and they start dreaming and pining away for life the way it used to be, and it's never gonna be that way again."

ANTHRAX Releases Lyric Video For 'Suzerain' SongANTHRAX's lyric video for the song "Suzerain" can be seen below. An intense and politically charged track from the band's critically acclaimed album "For All Kings", it is lyricist Scott Ian's musings about a leader who would be so powerful that all nations, all people, would come under his benevolent authority, and in return, he would bring peace, happiness and prosperity to all of Earth.
"Mankind keep making the same mistakes over and over," said Ian. "You'd think that after thousands of years of religious, economic and ideologic wars, we'd have figured out how to live with each other, but we haven't. That's what drew me to the idea for 'Suzerain'."
The "Suzerain" video incorporates the game of chess along with images of battles fought by ancient empires to illustrate imperial power.
ANTHRAX will hit the road in 2017, first with an appearance at the 70000 Tons Of Metal cruise, and then with their "Among The Kings Tour", starting with a 26-date European run, and seguing into the band's North American co-headline tour with KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, "Killthrax".
"Suzerain" lyrics:
It's everything, what's wrong with it?It's everything, what's wrong with us?
Null, rictus grin, beyond deathAnd it's afterMe, so insane, suzerainAnd he's calling
Nothing is over, nothing is over, nothing is over, nothing is overCome see, with me as everything turnsNothing is over, nothing is over, nothing is solved it only starts overYou'll see with me as everything burnsWhat comes afterWhat comes after me
A history, of love and painIn this story it's all the same
Void, rictus grin, stand in sinRule the rulersBlood, on the plains, suzerainAnd he's screaming
Nothing is over, nothing is over, nothing is over, nothing is overCome see with me as everything turnsNothing is over, nothing is over, nothing is solved it only starts overYou'll see with me as everything burnsNothing is over, nothing is over, nothing is over, nothing is overI'll be set free, free from this memoryWhat comes afterWhat comes after me
NOTHING IS OVER, nothing is overYou'll see with me as everything burnsNothing is over, nothing is over, nothing is over, nothing is overI'll be set free, free from this memoryWhat comes after, what comes after me [End of lyrics]
ANTHRAX has sold in excess of ten million units, received multiple gold and platinum certifications, six Grammy nominations and a host of other accolades from the media, industry and fans. In 1991, their music helped break down race and genre barriers when they collaborated with PUBLIC ENEMY on "Bring The Noise". And, of course, along with METALLICA, SLAYER and MEGADETH, ANTHRAX helped pioneer the thrash/metal genre as a member of the "Big Four".
ANTHRAX's latest album, "For All Kings" sold 34,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 9 on The Billboard 200 chart. 4

RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS Drummer Joins BABYMETAL For JUDAS PRIEST Medley (Video)Japanese pop-metal sensation BABYMETAL was joined by a very special guest during their last show supporting RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS at the O2 Arena on December 18 — none other than RHCP drummer Chad Smith! After a high-octane performance of "Gimme Chocolate!!", BABYMETAL exited the stage and darkness quickly descended upon the arena. Unnoticed by the crowd, Chad Smith replaced BABYMETAL drummer Hideki Aoyama behind the kit and performed a spectacular drum solo, disguised as a member of the Kami Band wearing corpse paint and white clothing. Joined by their new "God Of Drums," BABYMETAL closed their final support set of the tour with a show-stopping JUDAS PRIEST medley of "Painkiller" and "Breaking The Law", with Su-Metal performing lead vocals. At the end of the show there came another surprise, as Chad Smith reappeared with a birthday cake for Su-Metal, who celebrates her 19th birthday on December 20. The audience joined with cheering and singing "Happy Birthday", marking a very special end to a phenomenal tour and an incredible 2016 for BABYMETAL. BABYMETAL recently announced that they will appear as special guests to METALLICA at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul, Korea on January 11, 2017 as part of their "Worldwired" world tour, as well as supporting GUNS N' ROSES in Japan in January.
BABYMETAL released a new 13-track live album, "Live At Wembley", on December 9 via earMUSIC/Edel. A digital version will be made available on December 30. With a carefully selected track listing, the CD captures the spectacular performance recorded at BABYMETAL's first-ever U.K. arena show, "Babymetal World Tour 2016 Kicks Off At The SSE Arena, Wembley", which took place in London on April 2. The show saw BABYMETAL become the first Japanese artist in history to perform a headline show at The SSE Arena, Wembley. This concert garnered an attendance of 12,000 people, where BABYMETAL also broke the merchandise sales record of the venue, creating history once again.
BABYMETAL made its U.S. late-night TV debut on "The Late Show With Stephen Colbert" in April, performing "Gimme Chocolate" off their debut album. 6

Video: BATTLE BEAST Performs New Single 'King For A Day' Live For First TimeFinnish heavy metallers BATTLE BEAST performed their new single, "King For A Day", live for the first time this past Saturday, December 17 at the Rock The X-Mas event in Oulu, Finland. Check out fan-filmed video footage below.
"King For A Day" is taken from BATTLE BEAST's fourth album, titled "Bringer Of Pain", which will be released on February 17, 2017 via Nuclear Blast Records. Recorded and produced at JKB Studios by keyboardist Janne Björkroth, the ten-track album was mixed by Björkroth alongside Viktor Gullichsen and Mikko Karmila, while mastering was done by Mika Jussila at Finnvox Studios. The cover artwork was crafted by Jan Yrlund.
BATTLE BEAST vocalist Noora Louhimo commented on the song: "I think 'King For A Day' represents the new BATTLE BEAST in the best way — more dramatic orchestration, catchy melodies and riffs, more party metal and, most of all, entertaining. You can check it out for yourself on the 'Bringer Of Pain' tour. Welcome to the biggest metal party of BATTLE BEAST!"
The official "King For A Day" video was directed by Markus Nieminen of Oy Routafilmi AB.

"Bringer Of Pain" is BATTLE BEAST's first album to feature guitarist Joona Björkroth, who joined the band last year.
BATTLE BEAST in February 2015 parted ways with lead guitarist and main songwriter Anton Kabanen due to "insurmountable disagreements" with the other members of the band.
BATTLE BEAST's third studio album, "Unholy Savior", entered the Finnish chart at position No. 1. The CD was released in January 2015 via Nuclear Blast.
Louhimo joined BATTLE BEAST in 2012 as the replacement for Nitte Vänskä.
In an interview with RockRevoltMagazine.com, Noora stated about how she has been received by the old BATTLE BEAST fans: "At first, I was crucified, so to speak. On the other hand, some fans thought I was improvement for the band, but some didn't believe in me at all. It's been very growing experience and made me believe more in myself as a singer than ever before. If you can take bad comments as your fuel to practice more and develop yourself into better, then you are on the right path. Of course, you have to know when take the critic seriously and when it is just someone trying to hurt you. But I really want to thank people who've been supporting me since the beginning but also the people who didn't. What doesn't kill makes stronger and better."

Watch KORN Perform In LondonFan-filmed video footage of KORN's December 16 performance at The SSE Arena in Wembley, London, England can be seen below.
KORN's latest album, "The Serenity Of Suffering", debuted at No. 4 on The Billboard 200 album chart last month, selling 57,000 copies in its first week of release. 55,000 of those were traditional CD sales, with the rest made up of downloads and streaming. This marked the 13th time that a KORN release had debuted in the Top 10, tying the group with LED ZEPPELIN. Among rock acts, only THE ROLLING STONES with 36, THE BEATLES with 32, DAVE MATTHEWS BAND with 15, plus SANTANA and VAN HALEN with 14 each have more.
It's been just over 22 years since KORN released its self-titled debut album in 1994, with 11 more studio sets and 35 million copies sold worldwide since then. Guitarist James "Munky" Shaffer told The Pulse Of Radio that the band is still having a good time. "There's been some ups and downs along the way, but it's been fun, and we continue to have fun," he said. "Having Brian [Welch, guitar] back with us in the band has definitely brought a sense of gratitude and a lighter side to sort of a dark past, I guess."
"The Serenity Of Suffering" is the 12th studio album from the veteran California act and first since 2013's "The Paradigm Shift". 4

CRADLE OF FILTH / DEVILMENT Frontman DANI FILTH - "If I Did Regret Anything, It Would Be Anything Involving Red Bull And Vodka"Metal Hammer recently picked Cradle Of Filth / Devilment frontman Dani Filth's brain for his experiences with drugs, booze, violence, occult practices and... prosthetic limbs. An excerpt from the rundown is available below
Q: What is the worst idea you have ever had?
Filth: "That would imply regret, and life is too short – and I’m too short – for any kind of regret. But if I did regret anything, it would be starting the night with Red Bull and vodka. Or anything involving Red Bull and vodka actually."
Q: What's the strangest experience you've had with a fan?
Filth: "We did an album called Cruelty And The Beast about Elizabeth Bathory, and this one fan was convinced she’d been Elizabeth Bathory in a previous life and that I was, of all things, this prince, her consort. Later we played in America and this guy organising the show was supposed to drive us to the Walmart but instead he went past it... then he started talking and I realised with horror that this was the girl’s ex-boyfriend and she’d obviously dumped him, believing I was her prince. I thought, 'Right, we’re going to some sort of field now with a shallow grave, aren’t we?'"
Q: What was your strangest experience during your black metal years?
Filth: “We were at a party in 1993 with Emperor and the drummer put his arm around me and confessed to killing this guy. It was a really friendly gesture – he’d obviously had a lot to drink – and he said he’d never told anyone else, and I didn’t know how to take it. A few months later he was caught so it was very strange. There were a lot of things in black metal like that – it was exhilarating but also revolting.”
Read more at this location.
Witch County nefarious frights Devilment – led by vehement frontman Dani Filth, will released their new album, Devilment II: The Mephisto Waltzes on November 18th via Nuclear Blast Entertainment. Dani Filth had this to say on the subject of the new record:
“Everybody in Devilment is very excited about the prospect of releasing our latest album, II - The Mephisto Waltzes, which we have worked extremely hard on. The album is definitely a step-up from our debut, featuring a more mature, dissonant presence coupled with a darker edge, yet at the same time utilizing our better musical assets to deliver a unique metal hybrid. I don't even know what to classify it!”
Dani’s crew have meticulously pieced together a second blood-spattered batch of deranged anthems that brings vastly more color, intensity and lyrical versatility to this band’s spectral palate. The second Devilmenet record makes no splintered bones about its nefarious intent, offering a bewildering torrent of disparate and demented ideas and delivering them with refined, ultra-gothic panache and several jolting doses of Dani’s trademark verbal subterfuge. Assisted by long-time collaborators Lauren Francis (keys and vocals), Colin Parks (guitar), Nick Johnson (bass) and new drummer Matt Alston, Dani has arrived at the telling moment where Devilment become a genuine force to be reckoned with.
Regarding the album’s artwork, Dani revealed: “Winner of many international awards, the artist for the new Devilment album is Elena Vizerskayaaka Kassandra, whose photography and photo-manipulation perfectly complements the mysterious and magical world of Devilment. Elena's work is sometimes compared to Dali and Magritte due to the complexity of artistic figures and the perceptible amount of layers, something to be felt and not necessarily understood, exotic dreams filled with reflections and allusion. I have been a fan of Elena's work for a long while now and had originally wanted to utilize it for the Cradle Of Filth album, The Manticore And Other Horrors as far back as 2011, which only fell through when band politics intervened and an in-house label artist was used instead.”
“In conjunction with Elena, the booklet was compiled and further augmented with illustration by Dan Goldsworthy, who has also undertaken album artwork for the likes of Accept, Hell, and Sylosis, amongst others. His contribution to the album has provided it with a minimalist dark uniformity, punctuated by slick and classically macabre imagery, the perfect balance to Elena's gorgeously vibrant photography.”
The album was produced, recorded, mixed and mastered at Grindstone Studios by close friend and long term collaborator Scott Atkins (Cradle Of Filth, Behemoth, Savage Messiah), between March and July of this year.
Dani added: “Scott has worked very closely with the band to share our vision and we are very proud of the finished result, especially the megalithic production values and the hammered-home emphasis on song writing.”

Former GUNS N' ROSES Guitarist IZZY STRADLIN Releases Cover Of J.J. CALE's 'Call Me The Breeze'Former GUNS N' ROSES guitarist Izzy Stradlin has released a cover version of the J.J. Cale song "Call Me The Breeze", featuring special guest appearances by Lauren Barth (vocals) and Jesse Aycock (guitar). The track was recorded in the late summer of 2016 at Brotheryn Studios in Ojai, California and Fellowship Hall Sound in Little Rock, Arkansas.
It was rumored in September that Stradlin turned down a five-figure fee to play with GUNS N' ROSES at last April's reunion shows.
Stradlin tweeted about the dispute, writing that the band didn't want to "split the loot equally."
The April gigs included a warm-up gig at The Troubadour in West Hollywood, two shows at the Las Vegas T-Mobile Arena, a pair at Foro Sol in Mexico City and the band's headlining appearance at Coachella Valley Music And Arts Festival. It is unclear which shows Stradlin would have performed at and/or if he could have signed on for the summer reunion tour.
GUNS N' ROSES' two-month North American stadium tour grossed a massive $116.8 million with over one million tickets sold, according to Billboard.com. The "Not In This Lifetime" trek, which ran from June 23 through August 22 and included 25 concerts in 21 cities, earned a staggering amount for a rock band in 2016. The band grossed an additional $15 million earlier in the spring from the two shows in Las Vegas and another pair at Coachella.
The tour features three members of the classic GUNS N' ROSES lineup — guitarist Slash, bassist Duff McKagan and singer Axl Rose — backed by drummer Frank Ferrer, guitarist Richard Fortus, and keyboardists Dizzy Reed and Melissa Reese.
Original drummer Steven Adler performed with the group at two shows in July and at the second Dodger Stadium concert on August 19, getting behind the kit for "My Michelle" and "Out Ta Get Me" at all three dates.
"Call Me the Breeze" features special guest appearances by Lauren Barth and Jesse Aycock . Two very talented artists ....check them out !

METALLICA's LARS ULRICH Is Looking Forward To Returning To China Next MonthMETALLICA drummer Lars Ulrich was interviewed on the December 13 edition of SEX PISTOLS guitarist Steve Jones's radio show, "Jonesy's Jukebox". You can now watch the chat in four parts below.
Speaking about METALLICA's first-ever visit to China, which took place in August 2013, Ulrich said: "We hit China [for] a couple of shows… [We did] a couple of nights in Shanghai. Shanghai is one of the great cities of the world. There's a lot of really cool energy. It's this great mix between… One side of it looks like Dubai — these crazy futuristic towers — and the other side of Shanghai is sort of British, German and French. It's got a really cool vibe there. We had, like, three or four days off. It's one of the great cities. So we played a couple of shows there."
Asked what the crowd reaction was like for METALLICA's concerts in Shanghai, Ulrich said: "The crowd were… [Laughs] Not your average crowd, but certainly appreciative in their own way. I think that there's no wrong or right way to, obviously, interact at a METALLICA show; it's not like you get graded on this or whatever, or you don't behave a particular way, you get asked to leave."
He continued: "A lot of Asian crowds, and I certainly don't mean this disrespectfully, but they're a little more maybe subdued… [After Jones suggests the word 'polite'] Polite… There you go. 'Polite' is a much better word."
Lars also talked about how the Internet has radically improved access to music for China's young people, making it easier for bands like METALLICA to perform in the country. "I don't know if they have the records, but certainly the YouTubes or whatever, streaming… They certainly have access to the music in one way or another," he explained. "I don't believe there's a big record-company infrastructure in that part of the world, but they certainly knew the songs — the songs that we could play. You have to submit your songs for approval, and then you get handed a list of the songs you can play. So we played the songs that we were allowed to play. It was all fine. There was no reason to rock the system. But they certainly knew the music and they were appreciative. I think they were standing on their seats for a while."
Ulrich confirmed that METALLICA will return to China for three shows next month, starting with another concert in Shanghai on January 15. "The arena there — I think it's like the Mercedes-Benz or something — I mean, literally if you close your eyes and open them, you could be in Phoenix or the Staples Center [in Los Angeles]; I mean, it's very Western in that way, so it was great," the drummer said. "This time [when we hit China in January], we're playing Beijing also and one more city… I don't actually think that's announced yet, but we're doing three shows out there this time, which we're looking forward to. So we're getting up to Beijing this time and expanding it a little bit, so it should be good fun."
METALLICA's first Shanghai show back in 2013 — attended by fans from all over China, including Chinese contemporary artist and activist Ai Weiwei — sold out in minutes and prompted promoters AEG Live to add a second date at the Mercedes-Benz Arena.
At the time, Ulrich spoke of the band's desire to "get to more [Chinese fans] and maybe there could be a next level relationship between METALLICA and China that could last for decades."
Vetting by the Chinese authorities for foreign bands and artists isn't uncommon and has resulted in many big names being refused entry to the country to perform.
The members of METALLICA revealed in 2013 that they were asked to send the lyrics to their entire discography to the Chinese government for approval before they were given permission to play in the country. "We had to give them a whole set of songs and they went through all the lyrics and okayed which ones we could play, which ones we couldn't play," METALLICA guitarist Kirk Hammett said. "They see a lyric like 'Master Of Puppets' being so subversive that they're not allowing us to play it. It's kind of scary." Added METALLICA frontman James Hetfield: "And that just brings more attention to it, of course. That doesn't work."
The Chinese ministry of culture monitors music for vulgarity, as well as political content. In 2009, it reportedly ordered a cleanup of online music sites to address "poor taste and vulgar content." 31

TROLLFEST Release Digital Single, Video For “Steel Sarah”Norwegian Balkan metallers Trollfest are going to release their new Album Helluva on February 24th via NoiseArt Records. The Trolls once more bring their mix of extreme metal and Balkan influences to a new level with an added brass section, combined with more Kaos.
Trollfest has presented Steel Sarah, the princess of perfume, the feminine fighter, the gentle gladiator! She is the tank on an enormous adventure led by another troll-dude, who shall be introduced later! She climbs caves and slays snakes with maximum feminine ferocity. Eat your heart out, Arnold Braunschweiger.
Trollfest states:
"We wanted a vintage look for this video, so we borrowed the time-machine from you-know-who and traveled back to 1987 to do this the right way. Some of you may not know this, but Manskow had his own talkshow for a couple of years back then. The whole deal was filmed live, no playback of lipsyncing at all (obviously), mastered it a great VHS-studio and threw it in the time-machine! Unfortunately we lost our way, ended up in the middle ages, forgot the tape somewhere around Camelot, but it was actually discovered last week by some geologists looking for geological stuff! Lucky break! So, here it is, guys! The first video from our upcoming album Helluva, out February 24th, 2017!"
Tracklisting:
“This Is Just The Intro”
“Professor Otto”
“Spelunking Sisters”
“Gigantic Cave”
“Steel Sarah”
“Trollachen”
“Hen Of Hades”
“Reiten mit ein Fisch”
“Fräulein Helluva”
“Kabaret”

ETHS To Reunite With Singer CANDICE CLOT For Two Final Shows Before Calling It QuitsFrench metallers ETHS will reunite with their original lead singer, Candice Clot, for two final shows before calling it quits.
Clot left ETHS for personal reasons in 2012 and was replaced by Rachel Aspe. Rachel's vitriolic vocals fit perfectly the pounding riff barrage of the band's modern metal style, which was demonstrated on the 2014 EP "Ex Umbra In Solem" and this year's "Ankaa" full-length.
ETHS commented: "These last few years, a number of ordeals slowly pushed us towards different musical yearnings while dulling the fun that we have had playing as a band.
"ETHS has always been about honesty and fun, but we have to face the fact that our hearts are not in there anymore. Therefore, we made the joint decision to call it quits —- in order to fully focus on our separate musical endeavors and to find our joy in music again.
"From the bottom of our hearts, we want to extend our deepest thanks to all the fans, old and new, who supported the band through thick and thin. Thank you also to all musicians, road crews, bookers, radio DJs, directors, graphic designers, photographers, producers, journalists, and all other professionals of the music business, who helped us out in one way or another along the way. We have experienced unforgettable moments thanks to all of you and we will cherish those times forever.
"We are excited to announce that we will reunite in our original lineup for last two remaining gigs, which will be dedicated to the memory of our two friends Mika Bleu and Ju Isilion, who passed away far too early. We will close our ETHS adventure in style!"
The exact details of ETHS' final two performances will be revealed soon.
ETHS was founded in Marseilles and rapidly managed to conquer the covers of French music magazines following the wildfire success of their EPs "Autopsie" (2000) and "Samantha" (2002). Debut album "Soma" (2004) saw the band open for CHILDREN OF BODOM and CRADLE OF FILTH in France. With the follow-up, "Tératologie" (2008), ETHS demonstrated its experience and maturity grown out of playing hundreds of shows. When time came to release third opus, "III", the band took the challenge abroad by releasing four English versions of the original French songs on an international edition.
Rachel played her last show with ETHS on December 3 at Le Chabada in Angers, France.

ROYAL MACHINES is the "all-star covers fun-times band" featuring former CAMP FREDDY members Dave Navarro (JANE'S ADDICTION, RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS), Billy Morrison (ex-THE CULT bassist, current CIRCUS DIABLO vocalist), Donovan Leitch (son of legendary folk singer Donovan), and Chris Chaney (JANE'S ADDICTION, ALANIS MORRISETTE), alongside frequent CAMP FREDDY collaborator, singer Mark McGrath (SUGAR RAY), and acclaimed drummer Josh Freese (THE VANDALS, DEVO, A PERFECT CIRCLE).
Morrison, the MACHINES' musical director, told LA Weekly last year about how the band chooses its setlist: "'Paradise City' from GUNS N' ROSES will always get a venue to go crazy. We're also not encumbered by genre. It just has to have guitars in it, you know?"

BLACK STAR RIDERS Release Third Official Video Trailer For Upcoming Heavy Fire AlbumNuclear Blast will release Black Star Riders’ third studio album, Heavy Fire, on February 3rd. A third official album trailer has been released. Find three trailers below:
Part 1:
Part 2:
Part 3:
2016 saw Black Star Riders return to the studio with producer Nick Raskulinecz (Rush, The Foo Fighters, Mastodon), at his studio just outside Nashville. The resultant album is Black Star Riders most accomplished work to date. From the immediate riffs of album opener “Heavy Fire” to the instant hooks of first single “When The Night Comes In”, from the dirty bass groove of “Thinking About You Could Get Me Killed” to the familiar and trademark dual guitars of Gorham and Johnson on “Testify Or Say Goodbye”, this is an album that will further cement BSR’s reputation as one of the world premiere rock acts.
"Angst, passion, power, glory, love, truth, lies, loyalty, questions that begged to be answered. There's a guitar army coming…and it's bringing the Heavy Fire.” – Ricky Warwick (vocals)
"Not many new bands get to record three albums these days. Without doubt this is BSR'S best album so far. We had a great time recording it and can't wait to play the new songs live on tour in March." – Scott Gorham (guitars)
Following on from their critically acclaimed albums All Hell Breaks Loose and The Killer Instinct, which have paved the way for Black Star Riders to be recognized as a power force in the modern day of rock n’ roll, Heavy Fire will be once again released by Nuclear Blast Entertainment. The band have also brought in Pledgemusic, one of the most innovative and successful platforms of the modern music world, to give fans extra special product and experiences to go along with the album’s release.
Formats: Limited Edition Digibook CD (including bonus track), CD, Vinyl, Vinyl Picture Disc, Digital Album
Mail order: Limited Orange & Clear Vinyl ( Pre-order)
Tracklisting:
