British heavy metal legends SAXON will release "Let Me Feel Your Power", their tenth live album, on October 28 in North America via UDR Music. The 16-track effort was recorded in Munich, Germany during November 2015 and Brighton in January 2016, with bonus material from Chicago in September 2015.

In a 2015 interview with 100 Percent Rock magazine, SAXON frontman Biff Byford spoke about the difficulty of putting together setlist for the band's tours. He said: "Yeah, it is difficult with the setlist, because you can't play for as long as we'd like. It's difficult to please people, because you get quite a lot of new fans that come to concerts, they want to hear the old songs, and some of the guys that have been coming for years have heard the old songs too much and they want something new, so it's a nightmare.

"You can never please everyone and it's actually a bit stupid trying, really," he continued. "Just put some good songs together and promote the new album, and that's where to be, really."

Byford added that he is mostly proud of all SAXON has achieved in its forty-year existence.

"Have SAXON achieved everything I initially dreamed the band could? More or less," he said. "There were certainly countries we probably could have been bigger in. Australia's one of them, places like that. I don't think our management at that time really thought we'd ever be anything more than a British band, you know what I mean? I don't think their vision included the world.

"It is a shame, because I think 'Wheels Of Steel' and those albums could have been much more in people's minds outside Europe. I mean, America was all right, we did okay in America, but other countries could have gone better, I think.

"But I think we've achieved most everything, really. You know, we're still making great albums, so I suppose that's something."

The official trailer for SLIPKNOT percussionist Shawn "Clown" Crahan's debut as a feature film director, "Officer Downe", can be seen below.

"Officer Downe" was recently picked up for distribution in the U.S. by Magnet Releasing. Based on a graphic novel, the violent sci-fi film follows a police officer who is repeatedly killed, resurrected, and sent back into the field due to a mysterious technology that essentially makes him immortal. Kim Coates from "Sons Of Anarchy" stars in the title role.

Crahan told The Pulse Of Radio not long ago that the experience of making his first feature film was grueling but satisfying. "I did six weeks, three weeks of pre-pro and 21 days of straight filming, and it was the hardest I've ever worked in my life," he said. "But it was everything and anything I could have ever dreamt of. Some things were a struggle, but it was a trip."

"Officer Downe" will debut in theaters and on-demand platforms on November 18. The film is produced by "Crank" co-director Mark Neveldine and SLIPKNOT manager Cory Brennan, among others.

The movie premiered at the Los Angeles Film Festival last summer, where We Got This Covered said it was "sadistically stylized and punishingly powerful."

Crahan, who would like to direct more films in the future, has previously directed a number of music videos, concert DVDs and behind-the-scenes featurettes for SLIPKNOT.

He and SLIPKNOT singer Corey Taylor founded a production company called Living Breathing Films in 2012, although it has yet to release anything.

SOUNDGARDEN singer Chris Cornell joined Yusuf Islam, formerly known as Cat Stevens, on stage last night (Thursday, October 6) at the Pantages theatre for a performance of "Wild World". Fan-filmed video footage of his appearance can be seen below.

SOUNDGARDEN is continuing to write material for the follow-up to 2012's comeback album, "King Animal". The band started work on a new record last year, but took a break while Cornell toured last fall and earlier this year in support of his latest solo effort, "Higher Truth".

"Higher Truth" was Cornell's fourth studio solo set and contains the Top Five rock radio single "Nearly Forgot My Broken Heart".

"Higher Truth" was released on September 18, 2015. Cornell's first album on his own since 2009's controversial "Scream" is in the singer-songwriter vein and very different from his work with SOUNDGARDEN.

"The Madness", the new video from ART OF ANARCHY, the band featuring CREED singer Scott Stapp alongside DISTURBED bassist John Moyer and ex-GUNS N' ROSES guitarist Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal, can be seen below. The clip was directed by Dan Catullo, who set a Guinness World Record for using the most cameras (239) to record a live concert when he helmed the 2009 DVD "Creed: Live".

"Dan puts 110 percent in his work," Stapp told Billboard. "I thought he would be a great fit for our first video. He really understood the concept of the meaning of madness in a way that only someone who had experienced similar situations could understand. This video really gave the band its first taste of a live performance."

ART OF ANARCHY will make its live debut on Thursday, October 27 at the Gramercy Theatre in New York City. The group will perform all brand new songs, including "The Madness", which has just been serviced to Active Rock radio.

Said Stapp: "I was approached by the ART OF ANARCHY guys and asked to join them last year.

"This project has been a very cool, unique experience for me.

"I'm proud of our work and made some great friendships along the way.

"It's been great collaborating with artists from different backgrounds and you can definitely hear it in the music.

"We're kicking this off with our debut performance in New York City at the Gramercy Theatre.

Added Thal: "We've got great chemistry together, and the songwriting process has been so natural and seamless. ART OF ANARCHY released a self-titled debut album last year that featured former STONE TEMPLE PILOTS singer Scott Weiland.

Weiland, whom STP parted ways with in 2002 and again in 2013, died last December.

Stapp went through a highly publicized, drug-enhanced meltdown in 2014, after which he entered into an intensive rehab program and was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Stapp is now sober and in intensive therapy, although he recently began touring as a solo artist again.

ART OF ANARCHY is the brainchild of Thal and Jon (guitar) and Vince Votta (drums), who have been friends for 19 years dating back to their days on the New York music scene.

Thal joined GUNS N' ROSES in 2006 and stayed in the band for eight years, playing on the 2008 album "Chinese Democracy". He has also released a number of solo CDs.

Moyer has been DISTURBED's bassist since 2004.

"Atoma", the new animated video from Swedish melodic death metallers DARK TRANQUILLITY, can be seen below. The song is the title track of the band's eleventh album, "Atoma", which will be released on November 4 through Century Media Records.

DARK TRANQUILLITY vocalist Mikael Stanne recently told Kaaos TV about the recording process for the band's upcoming album: "We actually decided to start recording in January, and then we realized, 'Nah, we're not really ready. We need to work on this stuff a bit more.' And then a bit more and then a bit more. And finally, it was, like, 'Fuck it! We need a deadline. We need to finish this.' So finally it happened. But for a while there, I just couldn't see it. Like, 'It's not even close.'"

Asked why it was so difficult for DARK TRANQUILLITY to come up with a new album's worth of material that they were happy with, Mikael said: "This is gonna be our eleventh album, [and] for yourself, you feel, like, 'My God! We don't wanna repeat ourselves. We don't wanna do the same thing over and over again. We wanna do something new.' It has to feel fresh, and it has to feel different. And how do you find the inspiration and stuff like that? It is kind of tough. But we got started, and eventually, it's, like, 'Holy shit! We're on to something here.' And it started feeling really good, and now it feels awesome. Some of the songs are incredible."

Regarding how DARK TRANQUILLITY's recent lineup change affected the songwriting process for the new album, Mikael said: "[Bassist] Martin Henriksson left the band in January, and that was a big blow. I mean, he used to write tons of stuff for the band, but in the last couple of years, he has kind of focused on other things. He's more like a manager for he band — he arranges all the festivals and trips and everything like that — and he just kind of fell out of love with touring and writing and playing, so now he's a full-on manager and stuff."

Mikael also talked about how the songwriting process was different this time around. He said: "Anders [Jivarp, drums] has written most of the songs, I think, or most of the material, and then Martin [Brändström, keyboards] and Anders kind of structured it and put it together. And then Niklas wrote two or three songs, and Martin [Brändström] wrote two or three songs, stuff like that. It's becoming really diverse. Like some of the stuff that Anders has done is really different, and the stuff that Niklas has done is really different and the stuff that Martin [Brändström] has done is really, really kind of out there in a way. So I'm super excited. The album is shaping up to be fantastic."

Coinciding with the start of Tarja Turunen's European tour in Hanover, Germany, this Friday, the Finnish queen of heavy rock surprises fans with the digital release of her new single, "Demons In You". On November 11, the single will also be released as an exclusive, limited 1CD digipak collector's item on earMUSIC.

"Demons In You" features ARCH ENEMY's powerful lead vocalist Alissa White-Gluz and captures the darker, heavier atmosphere of Tarja's recent studio album "The Shadow Self" perfectly. The duo's performance of the song in front of 75,000 enthusiastic metal fans at this year's Wacken Open Air was one of the festival's spectacular highlights and most widely noted.

The two contrasting voices — on the one hand Tarja's almost angelic clean soprano, on the other Alissa's deep, dark growling — goad and challenge each other, giving the third single from Tarja a surprising edge. Combined with a catchy guitar riff, the bombastic drumming of Chad Smith (RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS) and the crisp clear mix by Tim Palmer (PEARL JAM, U2), "Demons In You" is definitely a collaboration between two of the strongest females in heavy rock and metal.

The physical and digital single also includes two previously unreleased versions of the song: one with only Tarja on vocals, one with Alissa taking the lead.

Regarding the inspiration for "The Shadow Self" album title, Tarja said: "I [came across] an Annie Lennox interview some time ago on the Internet, and I was reading about her telling about 'shadow self,' about a darker side of us all.

"Everybody, every one of us, we have a darker side, [and] we should probably just appreciate that it exists, but especially we artists, we get a lot of inspiration from our darker side. Many writers or artists in general, they write darker songs or they use it somehow. We don't probably even understand where all the darkness comes from."

She continued: "Since many years, I realized that I have a darker side in me, even though I still believe I'm a very positive person. But still, there is still darkness that makes me write music and create in general, and it affects everything that I do. I believe it's a beautiful darkness.

"And so, I found this interview of Annie, and it was very inspiring. She was just telling about our dark side, calling it as a 'shadow self,' and I said, 'Hmmmm… What a great title for an album!' I really felt like, 'That's it. That's my album title.' That is where everything comes from."

"My Town", a brand new song from Glenn Hughes, can be streamed below. The track is taken from Hughes's new solo album, "Resonate", which will be released on Friday, November 4 via Frontiers Music Srl.

"'My Town' can kind of mean something for everybody," Glenn said. "I just feel really comfortable singing that song about where I live.

"Los Angeles is a make-or-break city. It's a town that can kill you. Like New York, you have to be ready to live on the streets and be a part of the streets. But I have been living here most of my life and this is my town."

From album opener "Heavy" to the very last chords of the closer "Long Time Gone", "Resonate" promises to be a contender for "Album Of The Year" on many a list. It features his live solo band members, Søren Andersen (guitars and co-producer), Pontus Engborg (drums) and newcomer to his band, Lachy Doley (keyboards), in addition to longtime friend Chad Smith (RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS), who joined them in the studio for the opening and closing numbers.

Glenn told Billboard.com about "Resonate": "It's possibly the heaviest record I've ever made. I don't want to confuse it with horns-up heavy; it's not metal. But it's definitely fucking heavy. It's dense. It's dark. There's some aggression on this record. Every bloody track is begging to be played live."

While he was in the studio recording his new album, Hughes talked to Denmark's Metalized magazine about the musical diversity that has been his trademark throughout his four-decade-plus career.

"I never make the same album twice," he said. "Go back to the first TRAPEZE album. The second was different and the third one was different. And then you go to 'Burn', and 'Stormbringer' was different from that, and then 'Come Taste The Band'. You got HUGHES/THRALL and that was different from DEEP PURPLE. And then you go to 'Seventh Star' with Tony Iommi. That was different from HUGHES/THRALL. And then the blues album and then the Glenn solo albums."

He continued: "Although some of [my albums] have been very, very soulful and very, very funky, the key for me — as I am an Englishman that grew up in the West Midlands — is rock. But when I moved to America in the early seventies, I started to listen to what came out of Detroit. And I met Stevie Wonder. He became a very, very close friend and still is. He became my mentor.

"I need people to know that my success has come from the foundation of rock music. As much as I love THE BEATLES, Otis Redding and Stevie Wonder, when you think of Glenn Hughes, you think of the guy who plays bass and sings in any register."

Hughes added: "I am friends with a lot of famous rock stars and they are one genre. I wouldn't say who, but they have a one-genre-dimensional sound. You know it's them. And you know it's me because of my voice.

"I have been cursed and blessed with the ability to switch very quickly from rock to soul to funk to acoustic and almost into jazz — without scaring people. When you mix those ingredients, that's Glenn Hughes.

"This will be an album that is entirely Glenn Hughes music. For that reason, it is an important album."

"The Condition", a brand new song from THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA, can be streamed below. The track os taken from the band's upcoming album, "Transit Blues", which will be released on October 7 via Rise Records.

The band retreated to both Watertown, Wisconsin and Sawyer, Michigan last winter to write "Transit Blues", for the first time living and creating in a shared, full time space. They re-teamed with "Space" producer Dan Korneff (PIERCE THE VEIL, MOTIONLESS IN WHITE) in the spring of 2016 to record the 11-track effort. Overall, the album reflects themes of transition, separation, and mourning.

Speaking about the direction of "Transit Blues", frontman Mike Hranica told Clrvynt: "When I hear older PRADA recordings and such, this super-clean Auto-Tune bullshit kicks in, and I kind of quiver. Like, 'Why is that there? What's the point?'

"With 2009's 'Roots Above And Branches Below' is where I started writing 'choruses' with all screaming because I liked that in heavier music, and then on 'Space', the singing came out of left field.

"Hopefully with 'Transit Blues', it's a bit more where it's this element that's very organic, as opposed to, 'Here's the pop chorus, ta-da.'"

Don Dokken, George Lynch, Jeff Pilson and “Wild” Mick Brown have reunited as Dokken for six shows in Japan. The brief trek began with a single US date on September 30th at Badlands Pawn Guns Gold and Rock ‘N’ Roll, a sold-out show that was filmed for a possible video release later this year. UCR spoke with vocalist Don Dokken and bassist Jeff Pilson in separate interviews to get their thoughts on the reunion shows. As fans are aware, there have been several attempts in the past few years to launch a reunion, including one that found the band members getting together in Pilson’s studio and working on three new songs.

“That was about three or four years ago and I honestly don’t remember how the songs went, I don’t remember what they were,” Dokken says. “I don’t remember the lyrics, I don’t remember anything. They had some ideas and George was like, “What do you think of this?” And I go, “Oh, that’s pretty cool.” It was just like a brainstorming session, and Jeff goes, “Well, how about we do this for the chorus?” We did that and we spent a day and did three songs, just roughed them out and that was the end of it. We never took it to the next level.”

New music is again on the agenda as part of the reunion. Pilson says initial work had been done on a new song, which is still in development. “So far it’s just the music,” he says. “It’s very Dokken sounding. It’s very tricky to try and come up with something that sounds authentic but sounds sincere, and I think we did it. We kind of just let all go and let our inhibitions fly and it came out.”

But a few weeks later, Dokken revealed that with things coming down to the wire, he wasn’t sure what would happen with the new song. “Jeff and George wrote a riff and some music, and they sent it to me. I’ve been super-busy and I’ve been trying to write lyrics. The song really hasn’t spoken to me as much, so I let Mick take a crack at it,” Dokken explains. “Mick wrote an entire lyric and the whole song and it’s really good, but it’s too high. It’s just out of everybody’s range. So that needs to be taken into consideration. I think it was written in the wrong key for me. Deformity is the impending new full-length from Garden State-based death metal deviants Cognitive. Set to drop via Unique Leader on October 28th, the nine-track slab of inexorable brutality was captured at Full Force Studio by Joe Cincotta (Suffocation, Internal Bleeding, Dehumanized) and mastered at West West Side Studios by Alan Douches (Cannibal Corpse, Converge, Black Breath, Mastodon).

In advance of its release, Cognitive has premiered the official lyric video to the track, "Haunted Justice".

Los Angeles-based band, Mindwars (featuring former Holy Terror guitarist Mike Alvord), have released a video for “Scalp Bounty”, a track from their Sworn To Secrecy album, released in April 2016 via Punishment 18 Records.

The song is about Native American genocide and the video features hand drawing artistry by MisterNatMan.

Sworn To Secrecy was mixed and mastered by Bill Metoyer (Armored Saint, COC, Fates Warning) at the Skull Seven Studios in Los Angeles.

Crystal Viper are back. The Polish metallers are returning after a four year absence, which was caused by the health issues relating to the band's frontwoman and founder, Marta Gabriel.

The comeback album, entitled Queen Of The Witches, is probably a perfect heavy metal release, as except being a concept effort about the witches and true evil, includes all the elements that fans of the genre are looking for. Great melodies, impressive vocal lines, classic sounding riffs and harmonies, catchy refrains and pounding drums. Headbanging hymns, speed metal monsters, and power ballads. All of this with a powerful and very classic sound production by Bart Gabriel (Cirith Ungol, Mythra, Sacred Steel), that refers to the iconic and best heavy metal albums ever made, and coupled with an amazing cover artwork painted by Andreas Marschall (Running Wild, Blind Guardian, Kreator).

As it's already a tradition that Crystal Viper pays a tribute to the classic '80s metal acts of which legacy they proudly continue, it couldn't be different this time, and the band invited several special guests to take part in the recordings. Manowar co-founder and guitar hero Ross The Boss, as well as Jeff Dunn (aka Mantas) of Venom / Venom Inc., will appear with guitar solos on two of the songs. On one of the songs we will hear a duet from Marta Gabriel and Steve Bettney, vocalist of the NWOBHM cult heroes Saracen.

Marta Gabriel, the band's singer and guitarist, recently joined the ESP Guitars family. In addition, all of the members of Crystal Viper have signed an endorsement deal with Dean Markley.

Illinois-based symphonic melodeath group, Starkill, have released a lyric video for the title track of their upcoming third album, Shadow Sleep,  to be released via Prosthetic Records worldwide on November 4th. The new clip can be found below.

Motograter have signed to EMP Label Group, who will release Desolation, their sophomore album, produced by Ahrue Luster (Ill Nino/ex-Machine Head) and mixed by Joshua Wickman (Within the Ruins, KING 810). The album was engineered by Luster, Wickman, and Jon Berrier, and recorded at Illustrious Productions, Dreadcore Productions, and BlackPlate Productions.

Art for Desolation was created by “Mister Sam” Shearon, who has created covers for comic books and graphic novels including Clive Barker’s Hellraiser, Judge Dredd, The X-Files, Mars Attacks, KISS, and Clive Barker’s Books of Blood as well as artwork for some of the biggest names in rock music, such as Godhead, Ministry, Rob Zombie, Iron Maiden, Powerman 5000, Biohazard, American Head Charge, Rammstein, Fear Factory and Kill Devil Hill.

Desolation marks the band’s first full-length album since the 2003 Elektra/No Name self-titled release featuring Ivan Moody (Five Finger Death Punch) on vocals (Motograter is now fronted by James Anthony Legion (Deadform/The Breathing Process), and signing to EMP Label Group has brought that excitement full circle, according to label operations manager/A&R Director Thom Hazaert.

“I was actually in (the late) Steve Richards (No Name Records) office the day he signed Motograter. And he was SO excited, going on and on about this amazing new band he just signed, that made their own instrument (The Motograter) etc.. Steve was such a cool and infectious guy, and brought such an amazing energy to everything he did, and to this day, that stuck with me. And now to be able to come back full circle and put out Desolation on EMP, all these years later, and kinda continue that legacy with the current lineup, is really an amazing middle to the story. These guys have worked SO hard for so long, and it is an honor to sign a band that works as hard as Moto does. Motograter, literally, should be the blueprint any hard touring independent band should follow.”

Wardruna’s new album, Runaljod – Ragnarok, will be released on October 21st. This is the third instalment in a trilogy of albums that began with Runaljod – gap var Ginnunga (2009) and continued with Runaljod – Yggdrasil (2013). A music video for the album track “Raido” can be seen below.

In short, the ambitious idea behind the trilogy was to create musical interpretations of each of the twenty-four old Nordic runes. It proved to be a lengthy and challenging task. Some of the material on the album even date back to 2003 and the early stages of the project, when multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Einar Selvik started to develop the genre-defying sound and style that Wardruna have become known for. It is a contemporary sound, but one that is characterized by the use of old and historical instruments like Kraviklyra, taglharpe, goat horns, birchbark lures and more. The vocals range from whispering voices to melodic song and mighty choirs. All performed with sincerity and conviction.

Musically and conceptually there is a clear continuity between all three of the albums, but with time and experience comes refinement. And new elements has certainly been added along the way. Most notable on Runaljod – Ragnarok is the use of the Scandinavian bronze lures, whose iconic sound and appearance make them a perfect fit with Wardruna’s instrumentation and concept. Special guest performances by Einar’s own children and Skarvebarna children's choir must also be noted.
 
Runaljod – Ragnarok was written, recorded and produced by Einar Selvik from 2003 to 2016 at his own Fimbulljóð studio.

Italy’s Secret Sphere will release their first live album, One Night In Tokyo, on October 14th. The band has released a video for “Dance With The Devil”, which can be seen below:

Secret Sphere are without a doubt one of the most well known metal bands in Japan, with a solid fan base there since their inception in 1997. All their albums have been released in Japan and in fact, it is the only country where you can find Secret Sphere’s very rare, original debut demo tape, officially released as a special edition item there. That says a lot about the respect and affection that the fans in the Land of the Rising Sun have for Aldo Lonobile’s band.

During the band’s last Japanese tour, in support of the Special Anniversary Edition of the band’s signature album, A Time Never Come, Secret Sphere had the chance to record their show in Tokyo in its entirety, which included all the band’s major hits: “Legend”, “Under The Flag Of Mary Read,” plus the melodic metal gems taken from the latest album, Portrait Of A Dying Heart. Featuring vocalist extraordinaire Michele Luppi (now also keyboard player with Whitesnake), the show was one for the ages.

The result is a genuine performance in a very warm atmosphere, a night to remember, where the band played all their classic songs with true passion. The same passion that you can expect from the band's next release, currently in the writing stages.

La Curandera was originally released on September 29th, 2015 in a limited, pink vinyl edition for Red's Ten Bands One Cause campaign to celebrate breast cancer awareness month. Finland’s Omnium Gatherum have announced that Tuomo Latvala is joining the band as a full-time drummer after one year of solid prospect member service. Tuomo is a drumming instructor at his private drum school in Turku (Southwest Finland), and currently plays also in Torture Killer. He has previously played in such bands as Demigod and Hateform. Drum-cam footage from Tuska Open Air Festival in Helsinki last July can be seen below.

Markus Vanhala summa summarizes: “As many of you Omnium Gatherum fans an’ followers might have noticed, there’s been another bold-headed rhythm machine hitting the drums already over one year. Our long-time drummer and brother-in-arms Jarmo Pikka stepped out for a daddy leave last year, and since then we’ve got the amazing Tuomo Latvala as a filling-in drummer. At some point it became clear that Jarmos holiday is stretching longer and longer, so it became evident for Tuomo to step in. And why the hell not - since the show #1 with the dude it was clear that the chemistry, the energy, the friendship and the brotherhood is there. So we’re proud’n’loud and pleased to welcome the man from south-west Finland to join us east coasters! Many good things will follow soon!”

Tuomo’s words of wisdom: “My first encounter with OG was around 2001 when they and one of my previous bands played at a same metal happening in my hometown Turku. I bought their demo CD and thought they played the crap out of the bands performing that night. We have bumped into each other every now and then, but it wasn’t until 2010 when I had a chance to get to know Markus a bit more.

“My band Hateform played in Kotka and we had an afterparty and slept over at Markus’ place. It’s not a secret that Markus shared his bed with me that night and I told him not to hesitate to ask if he’d ever need my services (as a drummer). After five years or so he still remembered my words and asked if I could fill in for Jarmo on their North American tour 2015. After that I was asked to do a few more tours, festival dates and one-off shows before I was faced with a question of joining the band as a fulltime member. Apparently you can find yourself in a situation like this by spending a night together with Mr.Vanhala.

“Jarmo being known as an extremely solid drummer and a longtime member of the band I feel honored to have a chance to continue where he left off.  After doing a one year’s worth of shows it already feels like a second home with the guys and I’m proud to say that I’m a part of Omnium Gatherum now.  I’m excited in starting to work on a new album and playing for old and new fans around the world. Cheers and see you on tour!”

Omnium Gatherum will be heading to North America in November and December, and after that 70000 Tons Of Metal cruise in the Caribbean in early February.

NIGHTWISH's Floor Jansen and Tuomas Holopainen have shot down rumors that the singer will leave the band after welcoming her first child in early 2017 during the group's previously announced year-long break.

Speaking to Mariskal Rock TV, the keyboardist and main songwriter said: "It's just a little break that we're taking for about a year after being constantly on the road, in the studio, in the songwriting process for the last twenty years. So it's only gonna do good for the health of the band."

Added Floor: "Well, we've had a very, very great tour from the beginning to the end. Nothing bad happened, nothing horrible came in our paths; we just had great show after great show, and great tour after great tour, and great responses from audiences everywhere on the planet. So what more could we possibly wish for?"

Continued Tuomas: "[Everything went] absolutely fantastic, really. I can't think of a single bad thing. We all miss [drummer] Jukka [Nevalainen] dearly, but Kai's [Hahto] also a really good replacement. And we'll see what the future brings."

Asked point blank if there is any truth to rumors that Floor might leave the band before NIGHTWISH regroups in 2018, Tuomas said: "She won't quit." Floor added: "No, I won't. I love this way too much; don't worry. You don't even have negative speculations one way or another. Things are great, and let's keep on doing this forever."

Jansen revealed in September that she was four months pregnant. The singer's partner is SABATON drummer Hannes Van Dahl.

NIGHTWISH will play two more shows in Asia this month before completing the world tour in support of its latest studio album, 2015's "Endless Forms Most Beautiful".

NIGHTWISH will release "Vehicle Of Spirit" on November 4. The DVD will feature the band's performance from the Wembley Arena in London, England, along with their show at Tampere, Finland's Ratina Stadion.

Even though SKID ROW has been playing shows with the South African-born, British-based singer ZP Theart (DRAGONFORCE, TANK, I AM I) since the beginning of this year, guitarist Dave "Snake" Sabo has stopped short of calling him the band's official new frontman.

"We haven't even discussed it yet," Sabo tells News-Press.com. "We just said, 'This feels really good and let's just do it.' It's who we are right now."

Theart's involvement with SKID ROW was exclusively reported by BLABBERMOUTH.NET on December 31, 2015. He stepped into the group following the departure of Tony Harnell, the TNT frontman who joined SKID ROW in April 2015 as the replacement for Johnny Solinger, the band's singer for fifteen years.

Sabo tells News-Press.com that, Theart has been doing a great job on the road.

"He's come in," the guitarist says, "and he's a really great source of positive energy. He knew all of our songs coming in, and he knew them well. He started singing the crap out of all of them, and we were all very impressed."

Despite the fact that fans have been clamoring for a reunion of SKID ROW's most popular lineup for nearly twenty years, Sabo told The Aquarian Weekly a few months ago that SKID ROW had no intention of reconnecting with vocalist Sebastian Bach. "Happiness, to me, is my spirit and my soul is more important to me than having dollars in my wallet," he explained. "People may [not] believe that and that's okay. Anybody who knows me knows that to be true. I don't think you can place a price on happiness. We've been hit repeatedly over the years with, 'Why don't you do a reunion tour?' And you know what? I understand the question and I get it. I really do, and if I were on the outside, I'd be asking the same question, but no one feels comfortable with that idea."

Bach has publicly expressed his desire to reunite with his former bandmates, telling Loudwire earlier in the year: "I don't have any reason why not to do that. I have no animosity towards anybody in SKID ROW, and the fact that we're all, five of us, still alive in this world is a pretty amazing feat. So I would someday definitely like to hear the five guys who made those records play live together again. Yes, I would. 'Cause I'm a fan too." He added: "I'm up for it, if they are."

Speaking about what goals he has left to achieve, Jack said: "Ninety-nine percent of my dreams have happened. I've got one more, and that is to be more successful than I've been. I never felt like I got to that. I feel like I got to the plateau, but never went where I should have gone."

Jack also spoke about JACK RUSSELL'S GREAT WHITE's forthcoming debut album, "The Gauntlet", which will released in January/February via Frontiers Music Srl. The record features Russell alongside former GREAT WHITE bassist-turned-guitarist Tony Montana (as a guitar player and keyboardist), Dan McNay (MONTROSE) on bass, Robby Lochner (FIGHT) on guitar and Dicki Fliszar (BRUCE DICKINSON) on drums.

"I believe this new album, even as bad as the music scene is, [it's] the best album I've ever done, [the best] songs I've ever written," Jack said. "Robby and I, there was just a magic about the chemistry, and I thought after writing with somebody for thirty-something years, 'I hope I can find that again,' you know? It's just an outstanding record."

Regarding the lyrical themes covered on "The Gauntlet", Jack said: "I like to write about my life, and most of the songs on every record have been about my life, [but on] this one more directly. I've talked about addiction in minor ways, and I've talked about heartbreak, and I've talked about love. But this album, we talk about stuff I've never written about. And when we go to talking about love, we talk about it from a different aspect than I ever have. And since I have a true love now in my life, I actually can write songs and not have to just fake the wife out by going, 'Oh, yeah, of course that's for you.' That's been, like, for three wives already. 'No, I never told her that. That's a lie.'"

Former KYUSS frontman John Garcia will release a new studio album, "The Coyote Who Spoke In Tongues", on January 27 via Napalm Records.

Normally you would expect some heavy guitars, pounding drums and fuzzy tunes from Mr. Garcia. But not this time, as his new effort is something extremely special and presents him stronger and more emotional then he has ever been.

Recorded and mixed by Steve Feldman and Robbie Waldman, mastered by Gene "The Machine" Grimaldi at Oasis Mastering in California, "The Coyote Who Spoke In Tongues" offers an emotional acoustic ride through Garcia's solo work as well as songs by KYUSS in new arrangements like you have never heard before!

PROTEST THE HERO will release "Pacific Myth" on November 18 via Razor & Tie. The six-track record will be available in a variety of merch bundles available for preorder beginning today. "Pacific Myth" will be available on 180-gram purple swirl vinyl, with a colored insert of all six covers from the original releases. Additional bundles will include the band's artwork on stretched canvas, hoodies and t-shirt designs.

The songs were previously recorded and released solely for members of the band's "Pacific Myth" subscription platform. Intended as a way to create and distribute new music for core fans, "Pacific Myth" resulted in six new tracks, each with correlating artwork, that are now being packaged together physically for the first time. The individually released tracks have been fully remixed and remastered to create the cohesive sound of "Pacific Myth" which runs a little over 35 minutes.

The band explains: "'Pacific Myth' was purely an experiment. Normally, we take as much time as we need to write records — lots of which is spent procrastinating. With 'Pacific Myth', we didn't have that luxury — we promised to release one song per month on the 15th of each month for six months running. What we discovered in writing these tunes was the fact that strict deadlines (even if self-imposed) do not allow for over-thinking — something we are incredibly guilty of on our four existing full-length albums. Surprisingly, the constricting time frame lead to some risks in writing we wouldn't have normally taken — or at least some risks we would normally have had the time to identify as 'too risky' and then reworked until we felt safe again.
