RATT

RATT's STEPHEN PEARCY On Legal Battle With BOBBY BLOTZER: 'We Just Had Enough'

During a recent interview with Psycho Babble TV, RATT singer Stephen Pearcy briefly touched upon the legal battle the band has been embroiled in with drummer Bobby Blotzer over the rights to the group's name.

"It's water under the bridge," Stephen said. I really don't like to dwell on it, because, you know… Somebody should when they're doing something right or wrong, and it just so happened that we just had enough — the three remaining guys — and respect to Robbin [Crosby, late RATT guitarist] and the integrity in our songs to say 'enough is enough.'"

Describing RATT as a "dysfunctional family," Pearcy acknowleged that keeping the group together can sometimes be a formidable task, especially when it comes to making sure that the bandmembers are working smoothly toward a unified goal. "We haven't been let out of our cage in a few years, so it's still delicate," he explained. "It's, like, we need therapists around us to get us through everything."

But Pearcy was quick to point out the main reason RATT is still around three and a half decades after the band's formation. "That's the most important thing — the music," he said. "That's the still the one thing that keeps us — no pun [intended] — [going] back for more: the music."

RATT, featuring three members of the band's classic lineup —Pearcy, bassist Juan Croucier and guitarist Warren DeMartini — will embark on a more proper tour next year after spending most of 2017 making select festival appearances and playing one-off shows.

Pearcy, Croucier and DeMartini played their first official show as the reunited RATT on February 11 at Treasure Island in Welch, Minnesota. They were joined on stage by former QUIET RIOT guitarist Carlos Cavazo, who played on RATT's last studio album, 2010's "Infestation", and drummer Jimmy DeGrasso, who previously played with Y&T, WHITE LION and MEGADETH, among others.

A completely different version of RATT — led by Blotzer and featuring a revolving door of members — has been hitting stages across the country since the fall of 2015.

CHASTAIN Singer LEATHER LEONE Announces Solo Band, European Tour, New Album

CHASTAIN Singer LEATHER LEONE Announces Solo Band, European Tour, New Album

CHASTAIN singer Leather Leone has announced the formation of her solo band, dubbed simply LEATHER. Joining the vocal powerhouse in the new formation are Vinnie Tex (guitar), Daemon Ross (guitar), Thiago Velasquez (bass) and Braulio Drumond (drums).

LEATHER is putting the finishing touches on its debut album, to be released later in year.

The band has nine dates confirmed in Europe between end of April and beginning of June, with more to be confirmed soon.

CHASTAIN's latest album, "We Bleed Metal", was released in November 2015. It was the follow-up to the band's 2013 reunion CD "Surrender To No One".

Leone has long been considered one of the originators of the female power metal vocal style, having appeared on the classic CHASTAIN albums "Mystery Of Illusion", "Ruler Of The Wasteland", "The 7th Of Never", "The Voice Of The Cult" and "For Those Who Dare".

The Leather-fronted version of CHASTAIN recorded five CDs in the mid-to-late 1980s: 1985's "Mystery Of Illusion", 1986's "Ruler Of The Wasteland", 1987's "The 7th Of Never", 1988's "The Voice Of The Cult" and 1990's "For Those Who Dare". After the "For Those Who Dare" tour, David and Leather amicably went their separate ways but kept in touch over the years before reuniting in 2013.

Leather in 2012 released the debut album from her SLEDGE LEATHER project, "Imagine Me Alive". The CD was inspired in 2010 when Leather called Sandy Sledge to collaborate on the Ronnie James Dio track "Egypt" for a demo tribute recording. Due to the overwhelming response for more material, SLEDGE LEATHER was born and performed at Germany's Keep It True festival in April 2011.

Nova Collective began in 2014 when bassist Dan Briggs (Between the Buried and Me, Trioscapes) and guitarist Richard Henshall (Haken) began exchanging emails about music; before long, a few demos were fleshed out into full arrangements. Drummer Matt Lynch (Trioscapes, Cynic) and keyboardist Pete Jones (ex-Haken) came on board shortly after to finish writing the album. The Further Side was written on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean, with Briggs and Lynch in America and Henshall and Jones in England, sharing session files until the group could get together at the beginning of 2015 to record with engineer Jamie King (Between the Buried and Me, The Contortionist). Mixed by Rich Mouser (Neal Morse, Transatlantic), it is immediately clear that The Further Side is a labor of love for all involved, and that enthusiasm shines throughout.

Denmark’s TAINTED LADY Signs With Mighty Music; “Ampburner” Music Video Streaming

Denmark’s TAINTED LADY Signs With Mighty Music; “Ampburner” Music Video Streaming

Tainted Lady is a hard-hitting, unadulterated, energetic rock band from Denmark consisting of five passionate musicians in their early twenties. Learning their craft from bands of different eras of rock like Deep Purple, Skid Row and even The Beatles, they are determined to write original music of real substance, always seeking unique ways to arrange and refine their old-school style of playing. Fueled by a passion to make rock music dangerous again, the five members strongly voice their opinions through their lyrics and are never afraid to speak their minds - Soren Andersen even calling the music “rebel-rock”.

After being joined by British singer Michael Catton in 2015, Tainted Lady has been collaborating with musician and producer Soren Andersen (Glenn Hughes, Electric Guitars, Mike Tramp), and now they are ready to release their debut album, How The Mighty Have Fallen, on May 26th 2017 through Mighty Music. With a pure live production, the band’s renowned energetic live performances and attitude has been captured for all to experience.

Anders Frank, Tainted Lady: "We are happy and proud to have signed with Mighty Music, and we're looking forward to collaborating on the release of our debut-album out in May. So far they've been really cool and ambitious on our behalf. Our first single "Ampburner" provides a good example of what we're about as a band musically. The song was written in the weeks after the terror attacks on the Bataclan in Paris in 2015, and it's about finding peace from whatever is going on in the world, by turning up our amps and being as loud as possible. We can't wait to reveal all the different sides to our band in the coming months."

“Ampburner” video:

Tainted Lady has been touring all over Denmark in recent years, including playing major Danish festivals such as Jelling Musikfestival and Rock Under Broen. The band also got the chance to support acts like Deep Purple, Pretty Maids, and Electric Guitars. At the moment Tainted Lady is planning extensive touring in Denmark and Europe throughout 2017-2018, and following the release of their album, this band is truly set to make a real impact on the rock scene today.

We tinker around a bit, we strip the engine down to rebuild it by adding a couple new parts whilst taking some out, always trying to make it run faster and sounding louder, this time though we've added a bigger exhaust system and a shitload of nitrous… and a cup holder,” comments frontman Mikey Tucker on the upcoming release.

STEVE HACKETT Launches Official Music Video For “Behind The Smoke”

STEVE HACKETT Launches Official Music Video For “Behind The Smoke”

Guitar virtuoso and rock legend Steve Hackett (formerly of Genesis) has released a video for “Behind The Smoke”, the lead track from his new album, The Night Siren, to be released on Friday, March 24th via InsideOut Music (Sony). The video is available for streaming below.

The Night Siren showcases Steve’s incredible guitar as strongly as ever, along with musicians from several different countries, who Steve invited to join him in celebrating multicultural diversity and unity. This includes singers from Israel and Palestine, who both actively campaign to bring Jewish and Arabic people together. There are also instrumentals from the USA and Iraq, and a multiplicity of sounds, including the exotic strains of Indian sitar and Middle Eastern tar and oud, the ethnic beauty of the Peruvian charango, and the haunting Celtic Uilleann pipes.

Steve is widely travelled, making friends everywhere he goes, and has always embraced multicultural diversity. In these times of unrest, he has been inspired to express his belief that the world needs more empathy and unity. His wish to involve a range of musical sounds, instruments, musicians and singers from different parts of the world is both a development of his eclectic approach to music and shows how people can be brought together, even from war-torn regions.

Talking about his latest work, Steve says, “This latest waxing represents a bird’s eye view of the world of a musical migrant ignoring borders and celebrating our common ancestry with a unity of spirit, featuring musicians, singers and instruments from all over the world. From territorial frontiers to walled-up gateways, boundaries often hold back the tide. But while the night siren wails, music breaches all defences. To quote Plato, ‘When the music changes, the walls of the city shake’.”

The musical journey takes us from “Behind the Smoke”, focusing on the plight of refugees throughout the ages, to the penultimate track “West To East” which reflects on the damage of war and the hope for a better world. From personal to universal, the themes celebrate the life force, breaking free from chains of repression.

Tracklisting:

“Behind The Smoke”
“Martian Sea”
“Fifty Miles From The North Pole”
“El Niño”
“Other Side Of The Wall”
“Anything But Love”
“Inca Terra”
“In Another Life”
“In The Skeleton Gallery”
“West To East”
“The Gift”

“Behind The Smoke” video:

“In The Skeleton Gallery”:

In addition to singers Kobi and Mira (Israeli and Palestinian), also featured on the album are Nick D'Virgilio (drums) from the USA, Malik Mansurov (Tar) from Azerbaijan & Gulli Breim (drums and percussion) from Iceland, along with regular Hackett collaborators: Roger King, Nad Sylvan, Gary O'Toole, Rob Townsend and Amanda Lehmann. Additional musicians who add to the rich flavour of the album are Christine Townsend (violin and viola), Dick Driver (double bass) and Troy Donockley (Celtic Uilleann).

The Night Siren will be released in the following formats:

* Special Edition CD/Blu-Ray Digipak featuring 5.1 surround sound mix & "Making of...” feature
* Standard Jewel case CD
* Digital Download

DAN REED NETWORK Release “B There With U” Music Video

DAN REED NETWORK Release “B There With U” Music Video

Dan Reed Network has released a new video for the track “B There With U”, featured on the new album, Fight Another Day, out now. Watch the new clip below.

Fight Another Day marks the return of one of the most infectious and gifted bands to come out in the melodic rock world in the second part of the 80's. The new album was recorded primarily in the home town of members of DRN, Portland, Oregon, while most of the writing process took place in Dan Reed's private studio in Prague in the Czech Republic, where Reed currently resides with his family. Demos were sent back and forth between Derek Shulman (A&R for Frontiers), Brion James, Melvin Brannon Jr. and Rob Daiker, making notes and refining the songs over great distances via the internet. This process was not unlike with DRN composed songs back in the late 80's and early 90's as Dan Reed used to demo out songs on his Akai 12 track machine and bring the songs into rehearsals where the band members would then arrange and flesh out the band's classic 'funk rock' sound.

After the tracking was completed, band's keyboardist Rob Daiker went to work editing and mixing each track alongside Shulman and Reed, sending mixes back and forth, making notes and shaping and moulding the album to best represent what DRN sounds like currently, while paying respect to what brought the band to the world's attention back in the late 80's.

Fight Another Day tracklisting:

“Divided”
“The Brave”
“Infected”
“Champion”
“Ignition”
“Give It Love”

“Save The World”
“Eye Of The Storm”

Ex-QUEENSRŸCHE Singer GEOFF TATE Performs Acoustically In Agoura Hills, California (Video)

Ex-QUEENSRŸCHE Singer GEOFF TATE Performs Acoustically In Agoura Hills, California (Video)

Fan-filmed video footage of former QUEENSRŸCHE and current OPERATION: MINDCRIME frontman Geoff Tate performing on March 11 at The Canyon in Agoura Hills, California during his "The Whole Story 'Rÿche' Acoustic Tour" can be seen below (courtesy of California Rock News).

Tate's current acoustic tour sees him performing songs from all 17 albums he has done throughout his illustrious 35-year career. Geoff is backed during the show by a seven-piece acoustic band of musicians from the United States and Ireland and features three guitar players, mandolin, cello, saxophone, violin and multiple percussion instruments to produce high-energy acoustic versions of some of the Tate's former band's most recognized songs, including "Silent Lucidity", "Jet City Woman", "Empire", "I Don't Believe In Love" and "Eyes Of A Stranger".

Tate told Centre Daily Times about his acoustic tour: "I've done acoustic tours before, but nothing quite like this. This is a storytelling tour and I've got 35 years of music, touring and stories to accompany all of that. I thought that it would be kind of interesting to tell stories about the songs and what was going on at the time when they came out, either with me personally, with the band or what was going on in the news at the time and how they influenced the albums."

According to Tate, stripping down songs involves so much more than just replacing the electric guitar with an acoustic.

"An acoustic presentation goes back to the roots of the song," he explained. "Every song I've ever written has either started on an acoustic guitar or a piano and with this tour, I am just reverse engineering the song back to where it started. I think that a song is a song, and you can take just about any song and reformat it with different instrumentation. As long as you have a vocalist, it's going to be identifiable to the audience.

"It's been really fun reworking the music to fit acoustically," he continued. "You have to approach it differently and figure out what the song's strength is. Is it the melody? The rhythm? And then, how do you showcase those things? It really is a different way of thinking and presenting the music."

"Resurrection", the second album from OPERATION: MINDCRIME, was released last September via Frontiers Music Srl. The album is the second part of Tate's musical trilogy.

Original KORN Drummer DAVID SILVERIA Resurfaces In CORE 10

Original KORN Drummer DAVID SILVERIA Resurfaces In CORE 10

Original KORN drummer David Silveria has resurfaced in a new band called CORE 10. He is joined in the group by Duncan Nisbet on vocals/guitar, Sean Lenhoff on vocals, Chris Dorame on bass and Joe Taback on guitar.

Asked by BackStage360 why CORE 10 opted to have two singers instead of one, Lenhoff said (see video below): "Well, it's trying to create your own sound, something original. Duncan had CORE 10 going for a little bit before I got involved. I left the previous band I was in, and he was, like, 'Sean, do you wanna come in and try this? Let's see how it works. Let's try and do a metal/punk rock fusion thing with two singers.' He's very much a high-end, I'm very much a lower-end power singer. And it just ended up blending really well, and it's done nothing but grow from that point."

According to Lenhoff, CORE 10's sound has been described as a fusion of metal, rock and punk. "From doing different styles like that, we've been able to open up for KMFDM, FEAR FACTORY, MISFITS… And that's pretty much some of the heaviest — in FEAR FACTORY — metal you can get, and KMFDM is completely electronica and you know what the MISFITS are," he explained. "And it's gone over really well. So we never wanted to pigeonhole ourselves into one genre. It's so hard to make a living as a band and a musician now, you just take your influencces and you just run with it. Why not create something for everybody but having continuity still in what you're doing?"

Although Lenhoff is perfectly aware CORE 10 is not for everybody, he believes that the band's music will have a lasting impact on those that give it a chance.

"One thing I've heard that I loved was music is supposed to be disruptive," he said. "It disrupts your being — emotionally, physically — it makes you wanna move, it makes you wanna cry. And that's what's highly important. That's kind of where we're at with it. It's gotta affect you.

"If people don't have an opinion about you, whether they hate you [or] love you, then you're dead in the water," he continued. "So they have to love or hate what you do, and as long as you get a reaction, that's all that matters."

Asked how he first got involved with CORE 10, Silveria said: "I've known Sean for about… probably fifteen, twenty years from downtown Huntington Beach days. And he kept sending me MP3s of songs, and the more I listened to it, it was kind of, like, you either love it or hate it. I was kind of conflicted when I first heard it. And I would show it to my wife and said, 'What do you think about this?' 'Cause I didn't really understand it at first. And the more I listened to it, the more I liked it. Now they come over and play, and I come out and my wife is all giddy and excited going, 'I love that song. It's one of the best songs you guys have ever done.' And now I'm just in love with the music. So I'm all in now."

CORE 10 will make its live debut on April 1 at Tiki Bar in Costa Mesa, California.

CORE 10 is:

Duncan Nisbet - Vocals/GuitarSean Lenhoff - VocalsChris Dorame - BassJoe Taback - GuitarDavid Silveria - Drums

Silveria, who left KORN in late 2006, sued his former bandmates in February 2015, claiming that his exit from the group was merely a hiatus and that he was rebuffed when he tried to return to the band in 2013. Silveria said he still had ownership interest in KORN and was asking a judge to force the band to reveal how much money they've made since he left so that he can get his rightful share. Silveria was said to be especially upset over the fact that KORN welcomed back guitarist Brian "Head" Welch four years ago but wouldn't do the same for him. Welch left the group in 2005 and continued as a solo artist before rejoining in 2013.

KORN singer Jonathan Davis told The Pulse Of Radio that he believed Silveria had lost his passion for playing music, saying, "The first two albums, I think, he really enjoyed playing drums and then after that he just lost his love for playing drums. It happens."

Silveria told fans in 2013 that KORN was not the same since he left, saying, "Until they have the real 'funky drummer' it's just not gonna groove the way it could. I've made it clear that I would come back and restore the groove."

MERRIMACK Streaming New Track “Apophatic Weaponry”

MERRIMACK Streaming New Track “Apophatic Weaponry”

French black metal cultists, Merrimack, are streaming the new track “Apophatic Weaponry”, to be featured on their new album, Omegaphilia, to be released on June 9th via Season Of Mist. Listen to the new song below.

Says the band: “For this song, as on the whole album, we wanted to come back to something more rooted in the 90's. With a less complex structure, and a sound not as modern and claustrophobic as on our latest albums, 'Apophatic Weaponry' still has our characteristic moody atmosphere with some crawling mid-tempos riffs. This is especially noticeable on the second half of the track. Our lyrics are dealing with the special connection between beings and their faith, even though it is constructed on a void trying to fill in another vacant space of nothingness. The divine cannot be observed, demonstrated, except by its consequences. In the end, this is the definition of faith as opposed to reason. This concept of negative theology is a mystical approach towards the divine that attempts to describe it through the impossibility of describing it. Eckhart. Jacob Böhme and most of the German mystics tried to increase their faith with such notions."

Pre-order the new album at this location.

Merrimack were founded by guitarist Perversifier in 1994 with a clear vision to keep the black metal flame burning as an act of aesthetic terrorism – adamantly based in the underground as opposed to any attempts to co-opt or commercialize.

With a number of demo recordings under their belt in the mid '90s, the French gained recognition and respect in the scene for being true to their words. Following the release of three well-received full-lengths, the Parisians remained dedicated to their roots firmly lodged in dirty, grime, and fanatical passion. The band's daft combination of harsh soundscapes with epic songwriting appealed to critics and fans alike, allowing the band to embark on their celebrated first US-tour with Marduk and Nachtmystium in 2009.

Following the recording of their last album, (The Acausal Mass, 2012) at the legendary Necromorbus Studio (Watain, Destroyer 666), Merrimack embarked on a European tour with Norwegian genre icons Mayhem and accepted invitations to prestigious festivals such as Hellfest in their native France, Germany's Party-San Open Air and Summer Breeze and Montreal's Messe des Morts in Canada.

Celebrating the 20th anniversary of one of the most successful albums in their career - an album that won them near-overwhelming acclaim and made them one of the highest-selling bands unsigned to a major label at that time - the band returned to the Wyspianski Theatre in Katowice, Poland in May 2016 to record a special show, consisting of all the classics from The Masquerade Overture as well as a number of fan-favourites from their other releases. A video for the track “Faces Of Light” is available for streaming below.

Nick Barrett, guitarist and vocalist comments: "This DVD is probably the most cohesive performance from the band so far captured on film. Just as we have been together for so many years as musicians it shows us as friends as well, even with new boy, Vinnie our drummer and Verity and Tina on backing vocals who appear for the first time with us on DVD. The overall feel of the music and performance is fantastic and the sound is amazing."

The cover artwork was done by Björn Gooßes – Killustrations, know also for the band’s previous artworks: Pure, Passion, Men Who Climb Mountains and Out Of Order Comes Chaos DVD.

The DVD will also include an interview with Peter Gee and Jan-Vincent Velazco, photo gallery and other extras. Masquerade 20 DVD is scheduled for release on April 7th via Metal Mind Productions (May 5th in North America). Also available as a double CD.

PEARL JAM Invites All Five Drummers To ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME Induction Ceremony

PEARL JAM Invites All Five Drummers To ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME Induction Ceremony

PEARL JAM has invited all five of the band's drummers — Dave Krusen, Matt Chamberlain, Dave Abbruzzese, Jack Irons and Matt Cameron — to its upcoming Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction ceremony.

Only original drummer Dave Krusen and current drummer Matt Cameron have been chosen for induction by the Hall. Abbruzzese, Jack Irons and brief interim drummer Matt Chamberlain have been left out.

Abbruzzese joined the band in 1991 for the "Ten" tour, and played on two of its biggest and most important albums, 1993's "Vs." and 1994's "Vitalogy". His stint with the group ended that year, after which Irons came on board for a four-year run.

In a handwritten note posted on the band's Twitter, the members of PEARL JAM said that they "feel fortunate to be recognized and provided the opportunity to reunite with everyone who has been part of the group.

"Specifically the drummers who all left their distinctive mark on our band in the pre-Matt Cameron years," they added.

"Dave Krusen, Matt Chamberlain, Dave Abbruzzese and Jack Irons are each individually great players who gave their all to the early recordings and live gigs," the band continued in the statement. "Looking forward to seeing them and all the other musicians on the bill."

Abbruzzese last year expressed his displeasure with not being included in the PEARL JAM induction, saying: "The qualifications required for me to have been inducted with my former bandmates certainly have been met. I challenge anyone to justify why I am not worthy of a place in the history of PEARL JAM."

PEARL JAM guitarist Mike McCready told The Pulse Of Radio that the choice was not the band's but the Hall Of Fame's.

Meanwhile, Krusen, who Krusen played in PEARL JAM during its formative months and left shortly after the recording of its 1991 debut album "Ten", was asked if he would be up for jamming with his former bandmates at the Hall Of Fame ceremony in April. He told Rolling Stone: "I think the fans would dig that. I'd love to do it … I don't think it is likely, but I'm down."

The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction ceremony will take place on Friday, April 7 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

An edited version of the 32nd annual Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction ceremony will later air on HBO and there will be a radio broadcast on SiriusXM.

Artists are eligible for the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame 25 years after the release of their first album or single.

ADRENALINE MOB Introduces New Drummer JORDAN CANNATA

ADRENALINE MOB Introduces New Drummer JORDAN CANNATA

ADRENALINE MOB — the band featuring Russell Allen (vocals; also of SYMPHONY X) and Mike Orlando (guitar) — has announced the addition of 27-year-old drummer Jordan Cannata to the group's ranks.

ADRENALINE MOB recently completed work on its new album, due later in the year via Century Media Records.

Following 2015's "Dearly Departed", the new disc was recorded by Orlando at his Sonic Stomp Studio.

Mike previously said that he and Russell were "both very excited" about the sound and direction of the new ADRENALINE MOB material.

ADRENALINE MOB and TWISTED SISTER drummer A.J. Pero died in March 2015 of a heart attack.

"Dearly Departed" was released in February 2015 through Century Media.

In a departure from "Covertà", "Dearly Departed" featured, in addition to four cover tunes, a previously unreleased track from the sessions for ADRENALINE MOB's second album, 2014's "Men Of Honor", three acoustic renditions of songs from both 2012's debut, "Omertà", and "Men Of Honor", and an edited version of the "Men Of Honor" track "Dearly Departed".

ADRENALINE MOB in August 2014 tapped Erik Leonhardt (TANTRIC) as its new bass player following the departure of John Moyer (DISTURBED).

Moyer, who had been a member of DISTURBED since 2004, joined ADRENALINE MOB in February 2012 and appeared on the band's "Covertà" EP (2013) and "Men Of Honor" album (2014).

"Men Of Honor" sold around 3,600 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 99 on The Billboard 200 chart.

The band's full-length debut, 2012's "Omertá", opened with around 6,600 units to enter the chart at No. 70.

Drummer Mike Portnoy (FLYING COLORS, THE WINERY DOGS, DREAM THEATER, AVENGED SEVENFOLD) quit ADRENALINE MOB in June 2013 due to "scheduling conflicts."

METALLICA: Making Of

METALLICA: Making Of 'Spit Out The Bone' Song From 'Hardwired… To Self-Destruct' (Video)

A fifteen-minute video featuring footage filmed at METALLICA's headquarters in San Rafael, California during the writing and recording of "Chi", the song that later became "Spit Out The Bone", can be seen below.

The official "Spit Out The Bone" video was directed by Phil Mucci, who has previously worked with DISTURBED, STONE SOUR and HIGH ON FIRE, among others.

"Spit Out The Bone" is taken from METALLICA's new album, "Hardwired… To Self-Destruct", which debuted as expected at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 album chart last November, selling 291,000 copies in its first week of release. Both of the band's previous outings, 2008's "Death Magnetic" and 2003's "St. Anger", sold more copies in shortened sales weeks. "Death Magnetic" moved 490,000 copies in a three-day window, while "St. Anger" shifted 418,000 copies in a similar frame.

Nevertheless, the overall fan reaction to the new disc has inspired the band to release its next record sooner. Frontman James Hetfield told Italy's Linea Rock, "At least for now, we've booked out two years (of touring), at least. So I can't predict the future, but… I would like to make some new music sooner than eight years, for sure. (You get) such a pleasure and a joy of hearing your new music and having other people hear it. So we don't wanna wait that long."

"Hardwired... To Self-Destruct" consists of two discs, containing a dozen songs and nearly 80 minutes of music.

The North American leg of METALLICA's "WorldWired" 2017 tour kicks off on May 10 in Baltimore, Maryland and will hit stadiums in 25 cities before winding down in mid-August. Support on the quartet's first North American trek since 2009 will come mainly from AVENGED SEVENFOLD and VOLBEAT, with GOJIRA taking over for the latter group for the last six shows.

QUIET RIOT To Re-Record

QUIET RIOT To Re-Record 'Road Rage' Album With New Singer JAMES DURBIN

Following the departure of singer Seann Nicols from QUIET RIOT, both Frontiers Music Srl and band leader Frankie Banali have made the joint decision to delay the release of the new QUIET RIOT record, "Road Rage", until later this summer. The label and the drummer feel that in order to truly represent QUIET RIOT's lineup, new lead singer James Durbin should be the vocalist on "Road Rage". With the full support of Frontiers, the band will go back into the studio and record the album with Durbin on vocals to ensure that they deliver the album that QUIET RIOT fans have been patiently waiting for and truly deserve. Regarding the critically important decision to re-record with new QUIET RIOT vocalist James Durbin, Banali said: "After careful consideration, with the support of Frontiers and understanding the appeals from QUIET RIOT fans to have our vocalist James Durbin represented on the new QUIET RIOT release, we have made the decision to move forward and have James replace all the vocals on 'Road Rage' with new lyrics and melodies for a summer 2017 release. Stay tuned!" While the new QUIET RIOT album will be slightly delayed as a result of the re-recording process, the QUIET RIOT faithful can rest assured that the resulting album will be well worth the brief wait.

Durbin, who became known as the "metal guy" on 2011's season of "American Idol" after performing "Living After Midnight" and "Breaking The Law" with JUDAS PRIEST, will make his live debut with QUIET RIOT on March 18 at The Cotillion in Wichita, Kansas. A handful of additional North American dates will take place during the next two months.

Banali revived QUIET RIOT in 2010, three years after original singer Kevin DuBrow's death, along with Grossi and bassist Chuck Wright. The group went through two vocalists — Mark Huff and Scott Vokoun — before settling on Jizzy Pearl in 2013. Pearl announced his exit from QUIET RIOT last October.

Durbin recently collaborated with QUIET RIOT guitarist Alex Grossi on the "Maps To The Hollywood Scars" EP. QUIET RIOT is:

INVIDIA Feat. IN THIS MOMENT, Ex-FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH Members:

INVIDIA Feat. IN THIS MOMENT, Ex-FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH Members: 'As The Sun Sleeps' Title Track Streaming

INVIDIA, the new band featuring former and current members of FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, IN THIS MOMENT and SKINLAB, will release its debut album, "As The Sun Sleeps", on March 31 via SPV. The disc's title track can now be streamed below.

Stated INVIDIA guitarist Brian Jackson: "I'm really happy we decided to release 'As The Sun Sleeps'. This track is honestly one of my personal favorites and it's the absolute opposite of what we just released with our last single, 'Feed The Fire', which is more of a heavy rock, radio-friendly song. It shows that the record has to offer a very diverse range and can be on the heavier side of things. 'As The Sun Sleeps' is really guitar-riff-oriented with pounding drums and heavy breakdowns. I think the metalheads will be pleasantly surprised once they hear this track."

Fans may recognize vocalist Travis Johnson as the bassist from in IN THIS MOMENT as well as bassist Matt Snell as ex-member of FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH. Guitarists Brian Jackson and and Marcos Medina have worked together in SKINLAB. Since forming at the start of 2016, INVIDIA has had one purpose — to create good rock music with no rules and an open mind, leading them to immerse in everything from "radio rock" to "Bay Area thrash" and all that lies in between. INVIDIA has allowed each of the members of the band to produce music in their purest form.

"As The Sun Sleeps" track listing:

01. Now Or Never02. Making My Amends03. Feed The Fire04. Rotten05. Marching Dead06. Smell The Kill07. Til Death08. Step Up09. Truth In The Sky10. The Other Side11. As The Sun Sleeps

"As The Sun Sleeps" was produced and co-written by Logan Mader (ONCE HUMAN, MACHINE HEAD). "I loved working on this album!" he said. "INVIDIA's sound has huge balls while maintaining a great sense of mass appeal with big hooks and heavy grooves. The guys are dead serious about making it all happen and very self-sufficient. Producing records like this makes my job fun and inspiring."

Regarding the vibe and feel of "As The Sun Sleeps", Mader said: "I would call it hard rock/metal with big balls. It's got big choruses. It's got big hooks. It also has a serious 'metal energy,' which is where we all come from in our musical backgrounds. There are some songs that fit the American active rock radio format. There are some songs with a modern-industrial-type feel mixed with a kind of a pop sensibility and big chorus. The other end of the spectrum is more of a groove metal which draws a little bit from that classic PANTERA vibe. It gives it that sort of heavy testosterone metal feel."

In an interview with Rich Inzinna and Paula Noto from "The S.I.R.E.N." radio show on iRadioUSA.com, Travis stated about how INVIDIA was formed: "This all came together super fast and super flawless. I guess stars kind of aligned, really. I put something up online and Brian hit me up. He said, 'Dude, I'd be totally down t do some work together,' and that kind of thing. And I was, like, 'You know what? I totally miss singing. And I'm totally down for that.'"

He continued: "The funny thing is, everybody that's involved in this project as of now has worked together at different times except for me and Brian. So it's almost funny. It was like this circle that was just missing a piece for it all to connect. So once me and Brian got together, the whole circle came together, and within six weeks, this whole record's done, completely recorded, everybody's in place. And it's almost super ironic the way it all came together."

Travis, who still plays bass in IN THIS MOMENT, added: "We're all super excited about this project. I'm stoked to be singing again. I love playing bass, obviously, but I've been a singer for a long fucking time. I just took a huge break, so it's good to be able to kind of get back into it and kind of have my cake and eat it too, and be on both sides."

INVIDIA is:

Watch HELLYEAH Perform In Corpus Christi, Texas

Watch HELLYEAH Perform In Corpus Christi, Texas

Fan-filmed video footage of HELLYEAH's March 7 performance at Brewster Street Icehouse in Corpus Christi, Texas can be seen below.

HELLYEAH's fifth album, "Unden!able", was released on June 3, 2016 via Eleven Seven Music. The effort marks the first time HELLYEAH's current lineup — vocalist Chad Gray, guitarists Tom Maxwell and Christian Brady, drummer Vinnie Paul and bassist Kyle Sanders — has recorded together as a unit.

"Unden!able" includes some guitar work from late PANTERA guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott. Dimebag's brother, Vinnie Paul, dug out a recording that the brothers did many years ago of the Phil Collins song "I Don't Care Anymore". The rest of HELLYEAH overdubbed their own parts on to the cover for the album.

HELLYEAH's previous album, 2014's "Blood for Blood", was the album metal fans and critics were waiting for HELLYEAH to make, based on the revered metal pedigree of the individual members. Such an artistic achievement — the album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hard Rock album chart — meant the band set the bar incredibly high. HELLYEAH does not disappoint with "Unden!able". "We turned a corner with 'Blood For Blood' and we wanted to continue that path," Paul stated. "It's much heavier and darker, and we take it to another extreme."

STONE SOUR Singles Certified Gold, Platinum

STONE SOUR Singles Certified Gold, Platinum

STONE SOUR's singles "Bother" and "Through Glass" have been certified platinum (one million units; each unit is equal to 1 paid download or 150 streams) and gold (half a million units), respectively, by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association Of America).

In February 2016, the RIAA began including on-demand audio and video streams and a track sale equivalent in determining which releases get the coveted album awards, a change that followed a similar tweak in 2013 to include on-demand streams for its Digital Single Award.

As part of the new rules, 1,500 streams count as an album unit. This move came on the heels of its 2013 alteration to its Gold Single award where it announced that 100 streams would count as a single download, and in January 2016 had upped that ratio to 150 streams in recognition of how streaming had grown.

"Bother" is taken from STONE SOUR's gold-certified 2002 self-titled album, while "Through Glass" originally appeared on the band's gold-certified 2006 follow-up, "Come What(ever) May".

STONE SOUR's sixth studio album, "Hydrograd", will be released in June, although an exact date has yet to be unveiled. The disc was recorded at Sphere Studios in North Hollywood, California.

Singer Corey Taylor has hinted that the band will leak a "heavier anthem tune" ahead of the album's release.

About the direction of the disc, Taylor told BBC Radio One: "This album is great because it's got elements of everything. It's got the heavy energy of the '80s, there's punk moments, there's hard rock moments, all the great amalgam of music. There's even jazz and hip-hop moments. It's really, really cool."

STONE SOUR's last full set of new material was the "House Of Gold & Bones" double album, which was released in two parts in 2012 and 2013.

EVOCATION: Entire

EVOCATION: Entire 'The Shadow Archetype' Album Available For Streaming

"The Shadow Archetype", the new album from Swedish death metallers EVOCATION, can be streamed in its entirety below. The disc is being released today (Friday, March 10) via Metal Blade.

Featuring a cover and layout by Xaay (BEHEMOTH, NILE), "The Shadow Archetype" was recorded at three different studios. Backing vocals, mixing and mastering were done at Dugout Productions. Daniel Bergstrand handled the recording of backing vocals and mixing. George Nerantzis handled the mastering. Drums were recorded at Crehate Studios together with studio engineer Oscar Nilsson.

"The Shadow Archetype" also features veteran drummer Per Moller Jensen (THE HAUNTED, INVOCATOR) on session drums. Per sets a new death metal standard on the new EVOCATION album with his complex, yet groovy drumming, which we know well from his time in THE HAUNTED. Guitars, bass, and lead vocals were recorded by the band in their own studio, Acacia Avenue Recordings.

"We started recording the drums in late June 2015 and did the last recordings with vocals in June 2016. So, we spent roughly a year in the studio with 'The Shadow Archetype'," explains guitarist Marko Palmen. "In my opinion, the production is our strongest so far. It has all the elements I want in a production; raw brutality with a distinctive punch!"

"The Shadow Archetype" track listing:

TESTAMENT To Release

TESTAMENT To Release 'The Official Illustrated History' Book

San Francisco Bay Area metallers TESTAMENT have teamed up with Rocket 88, an imprint of the established British book production company Essential Works, for the release of a book called "The Official Illustrated History".

According to a press release, "The Official Illustrated History" will offer "the full story of the Bay Area thrash kings as told by the band in their own words. Heavily illustrated with rare and candid photographs, memorabilia and using recently unearthed band archives from the halcyon days of heavy music in the early 1980s, this is the ultimate TESTAMENT book.

"From 'The Legacy' in 1987 through to 2016's 'Brotherhood Of The Snake', longtime members Chuck Billy, Eric Peterson and Alex Skolnick tell TESTAMENT's incredible history in full detail and glorious color."

Said TESTAMENT singer Chuck Billy: "Wow! It's hard to believe, but it's been thirty years since we released 'The Legacy'. And we've been talking about what a great trip it's been and wanted to put it on record. So we're creating a book with the Rocket 88 guys. We've dug up tons of photos and memories, and they'll all be in there. We're telling our own side of the story. Each and every one of us has a different version. I'm sure that's gonna be very interesting."

Those interested in the book can register at TestamentBook.com to receive updates on its progress, get your name printed in the book and receive a discount on the final price.

Asked in a 2012 interview with Powerline magazine what he would attribute TESTAMENT's longevity to, Billy said: "In the '90s, metal was kind of a bad word. Over the last ten, twelve years or so, there's been a lot more new generations of thrash-style music and it's getting more popular. It's just a new generation of that fan base. There's always gonna be a young rebellious teenager looking for something against the grain. And heavy metal's always been the answer, it seems like, or punk rock or something. I think bands like us kind of survived those '90s and are still creating music that doesn't sound like it's dated, or like a thirty-year-old band writing the same stuff. You always try to keep it new and different with every record we do. I think that's what kept us alive. And it just happens that there's a true spirit at heart still driving us."

It is housed in a drawer-style box with metallic gold detail and is a true collector piece.

DEMON HUNTER will make a rare live performance this summer, appearing at Chicago Open Air, which takes place July 14-16 at Toyota Park in Bridgeview, Illinois. The band is scheduled to perform on Sunday, July 16.

"Outlive" track listing:

"Extremist", the band's most recent album, enjoyed a Top 20 debut on The Billboard 200 in 2014. "The Last One Alive", "Artificial Light" and "I Will Fail You" received an amount of airplay unprecedented in the band's storied career, a legacy that has seen the group sell over 600,000 albums in North America. Like the album before it, "Outlive" was produced and engineered by DEMON HUNTER guitarist Jeremiah Scott (LIVING SACRIFICE, THE SHOWDOWN) with additional production by the group's longtime collaborator Aaron Sprinkle (ANBERLIN, NEW FOUND GLORY). "Outlive" was mixed by Chris "Zeuss" Harris (ROB ZOMBIE, HATEBREED, QUEENSRŸCHE). DEMON HUNTER formed in Seattle in 2001. The lineup features singer Ryan Clark alongside co-founder Jonathan Dunn (bass), drummer Tim "Yogi" Watts (drums, since 2004), lead guitarist Patrick Judge (since 2008) and guitarist Scott (since 2011). Clark remains the primary songwriter, with increasing contributions from Judge. "Patrick's contributions to 'Outlive' unveil an exciting new path for the future of the band," promises the frontman. "He wrote the music for 'Cold Winter Sun' and it's absolutely one of my favorites from the record." DEMON HUNTER's dedicated supporters wear the group's symbol and lyrics on their shirts, vests, backpacks, and in many cases, on their skin. Based in both Seattle and Nashville, the group embraces brazenly transcendent melodies, without apology, while maintaining a defiant heaviness reminiscent of the most timeless of metal. A regular attraction at festivals, in theaters, and clubs, DEMON HUNTER has visited Europe, Australia, and South America, while touring North America several times. They were a headlining act on "Scream The Prayer", co-headlined with the band RED, played as direct support to IN FLAMES and introduced their fans to bands like AUGUST BURNS RED and HASTE THE DAY, who they took on tour with them early in their career. Put simply, DEMON HUNTER is an American metal institution.

The disc was produced and mixed by Mike Plottnikoff (FEAR FACTORY, IN FLAMES), mastered by Howie Weinberg (SLAYER, PANTERA), with cover art by Andreas Marschall (SODOM, BLIND GUARDIAN, OBITUARY).

"Woe To The Vanquished" track listing:

01. Silhouettes02. Woe To The Vanquished03. Remain Violent04. Shellfire05. Descending Blade06. Spectral Asylum07. Divinity Of Flesh08. When The Guns Fell Silent

Bonus 7" single track listing:

01. Evil Dead (DEATH cover featuring Chris Monroy of SKELETAL REMAINS) 02. Arc Lite (CORONER cover featuring Jadran "Conan" Gonzalez of EXMORTUS)

"Woe To The Vanquished" will be made available as:

* Regular jewel-case edition * 1LP gatefold edition (black and other colored editions)* Super deluxe wooden box warchest edition (CD, exclusive 2 track 7” single, flag, band logo dog tags) only available via the Napalm Records webstores in the U.S. and Europe — strictly limited to 500 copies!

WARBRINGER singer John Kevill, who is studying to be a history professor, explains the "Woe To The Vanquished" title: "The title 'Woe To The Vanquished' comes from early Roman history — before they were the huge empire they became. In 390 BC, a host of Gauls led by a warlord called Brennus attacked Rome, and captured all the city except the Capitoline Hill. From this hill, the defeated Romans made a bargain, they would pay 1,000 pounds of gold for the Gallic army to leave the city with no further bloodshed. The Romans bring the gold before Brennus, who uses his own scales to measure it. On the Gaul's scales, the Roman's thousand pounds of gold measured to be less, which led the Romans to complain that the scale was rigged (it probably was). Responding to this, Brennus speaks 'Vae Victis' (Woe To The Vanquished) and throws his sword on the counterweight. Because the Romans lost, they have to pay the rigged sum of gold as well as the weight of the sword, to add insult to injury. The irony here is that vowing this type of humiliation would never happen again, Rome went on to become an ancient war machine conquering and subjugating most of the old world. On the record, 'Woe To The Vanquished' is spoken in an ironic, mocking tone — the defeated are trampled and time marches on, uncaring, and forgets they ever existed."

He adds: "One of the great things about heavy metal as a genre is you can express tougher subject material than 'I met a (boy/girl) and it was (happy/sad).' I looked for the most monolithic evil I could find to write about with this destructive, intense music... and I did not have to look any further than reality. Forget Satan, that's a children's story. Real evil is in the hearts of men."

ME AND THAT MAN pairs BEHEMOTH founder, songwriter and singer Adam "Nergal" Darski with British/Polish rock musician John Porter. With the release of this side project, the duo puts away any pre-conceived ideas about what heavy music "should" be. The project draws heavily on blues, country and folk to make music as dark as if it was being screamed over shredding guitars. "Songs Of Love And Death" is a dark journey through sun-bleached, dusty plains, soundtracked by low-slung acoustic guitars and steeped in the rawest essence of rock and blues. The duo's debut will prove to be a revelatory affair for BEHEMOTH's huge global fan base, while simultaneously luring many more people into Nergal's artistic world. Fans of everything from Nick Cave, DANZIG, Leonard Cohen and Johnny Cash's American Recordings, through to the grim, frontier polemic of WOVENHAND will find countless mesmerizing moments on the album. "This album is not meant to turn ME AND THAT MAN fans into BEHEMOTH fans," Nergal notes. "If one day they follow, okay. Something like 'My Church Is Black' is a strong declaration, a song that naturally invites people from the extreme metal world, and perhaps they'll want to enter this world too. They might even like it. With ME AND THAT MAN, I'm telling simple stories in a simple way, not overloaded with metaphors and hidden meanings. It's just got to be as natural, organic and stripped down as it can be." He further explains: "With ME AND THAT MAN, the songs just come out in a very organic way. One would be bluesy, one would be more of a ballad, but put together they all made sense. I need ME AND THAT MAN to keep the balance, as the potential of my mother band seems limitless. It gets bigger and bigger, more advanced and more sophisticated... and darker ...and blacker. But ME AND THAT MAN is at the opposite pole, artistically speaking. With all the best art, once you have it in you, you have to release it, otherwise it becomes intoxicating and dangerous to your own system. This is how I deal with my emotions and my dark feelings and shadows. This is not happy music, but it's liberating." "This is a side-project, but I don't really know what it's going to grow into," Nergal concludes. The idea was just to get this music out to people. There's no hidden agenda. It is what it is, and if you like it, it's cool. If you don't, that's cool too. This is the battle we've already won." Plans are underway for a series of live dates in Europe around the release of the album and across the U.S. in April/May. Stay tuned for further details soon. "Songs Of Love And Death" features artwork by Daniel P. Carter and is available for pre-order now.

ICE-T's BODY COUNT: Listen To New Song 'The Ski Mask Way'

"The Ski Mask Way", a brand new song from BODY COUNT, the metal band fronted by hip-hop legend, actor and director Ice-T, can be streamed below. The track is taken from the band's new album, "Bloodlust", which will be released on March 31 via Century Media Records.

Ice-T said: "I was noticing people on the streets showing off their expensive jewelry and money on social media. They are just making themselves a target for the robbers out there just watching their Instagram to see what they are flaunting. In L.A., they call Instagram 'Jacker’s Uber,' seeing what clubs people are at and livestream the robbers to their front door."

"Bloodlust" was recorded with producer Will Putney (MISS MAY I, UPON A BURNING BODY), who also helmed 2014's "Manslaughter". The new CD features guest appearances by Max Cavalera (SOULFLY, SEPULTURA), MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine and LAMB OF GOD frontman Randy Blythe. The effort also contains BODY COUNT's medley of the SLAYER songs "Postmortem" and "Raining Blood".

"Bloodlust" track listing:

01. Civil War (feat. Dave Mustaine)02. The Ski Mask Way03. This Is Why We Ride04. All Love Is Lost (feat. Max Cavalera)05. Raining Blood / Postmortem (SLAYER medley)06. God, Please Believe Me07. Walk With Me… (feat. Randy Blythe)08. Here I Go Again09. No Lives Matter10. Bloodlust11. Black Hoodie

Ice-T recently told Revolver magazine about "Bloodlust": "Making records is a very interesting process. You work really hard on something and finish it and then you'll be, like, 'Yo, that sounds like somebody else's record.' Or, 'Hey, didn't we just make that record three days ago?'

"One time we did two songs in a row and afterwards I looked at them and said, 'That's the same riff in each song.' So we had to pick one. But in the end, we came up with some very aggressive and cool music."

He added: "I like to start with hot metal tracks that you can listen to without a word on them and go, 'Wow, that was just like fire!’ The music tells me what the song is about, and that's when the words start coming to me. Then it's up to me not to fuck it up."

As for the choice of album title, Ice-T said: "Bloodlust is part of the human makeup. Murder is about as normal as love. It's in our nature to want to get violent and kill, but we know there are consequences. That's why we like violent movies, video games and combat sports. It's in our DNA. It's what we are."

"Manslaughter" sold around 3,600 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 102 on The Billboard 200 chart. The record arrived in stores on June 10, 2014 via Sumerian.

BODY COUNT's current lineup includes guitarist Juan Garcia (a.k.a. Juan Of The Dead; AGENT STEEL, EVILDEAD), who made his live debut with the group in November 2013 at the Fun Fun Fun Fest in Austin, Texas.
