RHAPSODY OF FIRE: RHAPSODY OF FIRE return with new line-up and a very special release

RHAPSODY OF FIRE: RHAPSODY OF FIRE return with new line-up and a very special release

After announcing their new line-up recently (the addition of new vocalist Giacomo Voli and drummer Manu Lotter), Italian symphonic power metal kings RHAPSODY OF FIRE are now working on their upcoming release, which will be a 75 minutes long album revisiting a selection of songs written and produced during the 5 first years of the Rhapsody Era (1997-2002). Yes, indeed: 14 epic tracks completely re-recorded! All drums, bass, guitars, keyboards, vocals, epic choirs, opera choirs, and numerous classical instruments have been recorded already. The album will be mixed by Seeb Levermann (Orden Ogan).

“To re-record old historic tracks is not that common among bands because there is probably a lack of self-confidence or because, for some musicians and fans, what is part of the past should not be touched. We do not agree”, Alex Staropoli says.

RHAPSODY OF FIRE are different and absolutely confident to achieve a stunning result. The precision of playing, the new vocal approach of Giacomo, the modern technologies, a careful mix and great mastering will give the songs a new incredibly great sound. Of course everything is done with immense dedication, passion, emotion and respect for these beautiful tracks co-written by Alex Staropoli and the band’s former guitarist Luca Turilli.

“We already had the chance to listen to some rough mixes and we can clearly say that the result goes far beyond any bright expectations. The result is just fantastic. We can’t wait to start the mix!"

The album will be released during Spring. Exact release date and album title will be announced soon.

HORISONT Debut “About Time” Music Video

HORISONT Debut “About Time” Music Video

Swedish hard rockers, Horisont, have released a video for the title track of their new album, About Time, out on February 3rd via Century Media Records.

Says the band: “New single and video! As our third single from the album About Time we decided to go with the title track. It is perhaps not what you would expect a single by Horisont to be but that is also exactly why we decided to go for this song. The outstanding video directed by Max Ljungberg completely captures the essence of the song and together with the song and lyrics; it will make your heart bleed. A big thanks to Leif and Jennie-Ann for acting like true actors, no one could have done it better, and the amazing team of Sami, Johanna and Marcus.”

The band recently commented on the cover artwork, “The fabulous artwork for our fifth album About Time is once again crafted by the wizard of art himself – Henrik Jacobson, who also did the Odyssey artwork. Henrik has managed to capture the concept of the album and title in a brilliant Horisont way. We couldn’t be happier with the result and we hope you’ll enjoy it!”

About Time will be available as Special Edition Digipak (Europe only), Jewel Case CD (North America only), Gatefold LP and as digital album.

RAMMSTEIN To Release

RAMMSTEIN To Release 'Paris' DVD, Blu-Ray; First Trailer Available

German industrial metallers RAMMSTEIN are preparing to release a new concert DVD and Blu-ray, "Paris". The set was recorded in March 2012 at the then-named Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy in Paris (now AccorHotels Arena) during RAMMSTEIN's "Made In Germany" tour, and was helmed by the band's longtime collaborator, Swedish director Jonas Åkerlund.

The first trailer for "Paris" is available below.

Åkerlund has also worked with METALLICA, SATYRICON, MADONNA and THE PRODIGY, among others.

RAMMSTEIN last year played a number of concerts where the band opened each show with a brand new song, presently only known as "Ramm 4". The track contains lyrics that seem to be a combination of various titles of previous RAMMSTEIN songs.

RAMMSTEIN in 2015 released a 21st-anniversary box set, a numbered, career-wide collection titled "XXI". The set included the band's six studio albums, produced by Jacob Hellner and remastered onto 180-gram heavyweight double vinyl by Svante Forsbäck, as well as a separate rarities double LP, "Raritäten", including a previously unreleased version of the track "Los".

RAMMSTEIN hasn't made a new CD since 2009's "Liebe Ist Für Alle Da".

The band's frontman Till Lindemann in 2015 released a debut album with his side project LINDEMANN.

RAMMSTEIN guitarist Richard Z. Kruspe's EMIGRATE project issued its sophomore album, "Silent So Long", in November 2014 via Spinefarm.

RATT Singer STEPHEN PEARCY

RATT Singer STEPHEN PEARCY's New Solo Song 'Ten Miles Wide' Available For Streaming

"Ten Miles Wide", a brand new song from RATT singer Stephen Pearcy, can be streamed below. The track is taken from Stephen's fourth solo album, "Smash", which will be released on January 27 via Frontiers Music Srl.

Speaking about the songwriting process for his solo material, Pearcy told Music Existence: "RATT's music is its own entity and animal, and it has its own schematics. With my solo stuff, I tend to do whatever I like — an acoustic song, a really heavy song — and go places and talk about things that I want to. It's my freedom of speech. That's one thing I like about it, and I'm always writing, so what else can I do, you know? Just try to get it out and get it heard! I don't care if it sells ten million or nil million; it's just what I do. You do the best that you can."

Pearcy also talked in more detail about the musical inspiration for "Smash", saying: "It's just my guitar player Erik [Ferentinos], who I co-wrote most of the stuff with. We'd just come up with songs and take them through a journey. That's pretty much how it happens. I don't think about anything. If it sounds like something that's an influence, and if it's a good one, that's even better! I don't really think about emulating anybody; it's more of an influential thing that just came out. That's a compliment to both of us, how I respect them. And I'm sure they'd say, 'Woah, that sounds pretty good!' But that's about it — the light and the dark of the things, you know?"

He continued: "I wanted this record to be diverse. The subject matter's very different than what was expected, and what would be expected. And there's some personal stuff in there — a song I wrote for my daughter, 'Rain'. I'm able to do whatever I want with my solo stuff, so this is what you get."

Stephen will be supporting "Smash" with live dates in the U.S. and internationally. "It took long enough to finish the new record 'Smash' and it is well worth the patience taken, giving every song as much attention as the next," said Pearcy. "Erik Ferentinos (lead guitarist and co-writer), Greg D'Angelo (drummer) and Matt Thorne (bassist, keyboardist) and myself didn't settle on any first, second or third takes. We let some songs grow if needed, then go back and complete it. We're very happy with the outcome, that we were able to experiment and grow with the new songs."

"Smash" track listing:

BATTLE BEAST: Second Trailer For

BATTLE BEAST: Second Trailer For 'Bringer Of Pain' Album

The second trailer for "Bringer Of Pain", the fourth album from Finnish metallers BATTLE BEAST, is available below. Due on February 17 via Nuclear Blast Records, the ten-track disc was recorded and produced at JKB Studios by keyboardist Janne Björkroth, was mixed by Björkroth alongside Viktor Gullichsen and Mikko Karmila, and was mastered by Mika Jussila at Finnvox Studios. The cover artwork was crafted by Jan Yrlund.

"Bringer Of Pain" is BATTLE BEAST's first album to feature guitarist Joona Björkroth, who joined the band last year.

BATTLE BEAST in February 2015 parted ways with lead guitarist and main songwriter Anton Kabanen due to "insurmountable disagreements" with the other members of the band.

Speaking to Metalholic, BATTLE BEAST vocalist Noora Louhimo stated about the writing process for "Bringer Of Pain": "You always have the pressure on to write good music and do a good album, but now we had extra pressure because people had their suspicions. People were already judging us that, 'They're not going to make it. They're not going to make as good music.' But as you can hear, yes we can! [Laughs] So, yes, it was a nerve-breaking, but still a very rewarding process to do this new album. For me personally, this was such a great experience. I learned so much about the other guys; the other band members. We got Joona to be part of this BATTLE BEAST family and now I'm just full of excitement. I can't wait to get on the road and bring the pain!"

Asked how she thinks having six songwriters instead of one impacts the sound and dynamic of the band, Noora said: "We all learned a lot from each other, how we want to work together. There are so many different ways to write songs. For example, Janne likes to write songs by himself and bring them to the table when they are almost final. I like to do solo also, but I like co-writing also. With Joona, we have a similar wave we are on, and we have a really good work ethic, and a good friendship also. So it's very easy to work with him. I did write some demos with Eero, our bass player, and our other guitar player Jusso, and it was fun also. I think through these next years, we are going to find new ways, and the best ways, for BATTLE BEAST to produce music."

"Bringer Of Pain" track listing:

ACCEPT: Quality Video Footage Of Paris Concert From SABATON European Tour

ACCEPT: Quality Video Footage Of Paris Concert From SABATON European Tour

Quality fan-filmed video footage of ACCEPT's January 16 performance at L'Olympia in Paris, France as the support act for SABATON can be seen below.

ACCEPT released a new live set titled "Restless And Live" on January 13 via Nuclear Blast. This package included the entire show ACCEPT played at 2015's Bang Your Head!!! festival in Balingen, Germany on Blu-ray/DVD plus two CDs.

Asked why it's so important for ACCEPT to still make new music after all this time, Wolf recently told Canadian rock journalist Mitch Lafon: "For us, it was very important, especially since we got [singer] Mark [Tornillo], and when we had our reunion with Mark, the new singer, we really wanted to show to the fans and to us that we still can write relevant new songs, and so that's why we really did three albums in five or six years — really banged them out, one after the other. And those three albums are, in a lot of fans' views, as strong as most of the stuff we've done in the eighties, if not stronger. So I think it's very important for us to come up with new songs, 'cause, you know, once you stop trying, or you're just living on the past, I think that's no good. We're trying to stay relevant, and the fans really appreciate that."

Regarding what Mark Tornillo has added to ACCEPT's sound, Wolf said: "He very much inspired us to write songs, because all of a sudden, he can pretty much sing anything we want him to do. With Udo [Dirkschneider, former ACCEPT singer], it was much more limited, what worked and what didn't work. And Mark, man, anything Peter [Baltes, bass] and I come up with, he can perform, and so that opened a lot of doors, musically, for us, and that inspired us totally. But, like I said before, we always try to stay close to what ACCEPT fans are wanting to hear from us, 'cause we could write a bunch of stuff that was left and right, genre-wise, but I'm not sure if fans would really appreciate it that much. And that's also where [producer] Andy Sneap came in, especially during the 'Blood Of The Nations' [2010] recording. He really, sort of, forced us more to stay true to the course. 'Cause he grew up being an ACCEPT fan and listening to the old albums, and he came in with an expectation, 'All right, we're gonna make a great new ACCEPT album, but it'd better sound like I want it to sound as an ACCEPT fan.'"

JUDAS PRIEST, SKID ROW, Ex-QUIET RIOT, WHITESNAKE Members Take Part In Fourth Annual

JUDAS PRIEST, SKID ROW, Ex-QUIET RIOT, WHITESNAKE Members Take Part In Fourth Annual 'Randy Rhoads Remembered' (Video)

Richie Faulkner (JUDAS PRIEST), Scotti Hill (SKID ROW), Rudy Sarzo (QUIET RIOT, OZZY OSBOURNE, WHITESNAKE), Brian Tichy (WHITESNAKE, OZZY OSBOURNE) and Marzi Montazeri (PHILIP H. ANSELMO & THE ILLEGALS) Rudy Sarzo (OZZY OSBOURNE, QUIET RIOT), are among the musicians who gathered Thursday night (January 19) during the 2017 NAMM show to honor one of rock's most legendary guitarists at the "Randy Rhoads Remembered: A Celebration For A Guitar Legend" concert at Yost Theatre in Santa Ana, California.

Founded in 2013 by former WHITESNAKE drummer Brian Tichy and his producing partner Joe Sutton, the event is aimed at recognizing the incredible contributions of the late Ozzy Osbourne guitarist, whose life was tragically cut short at the young age of 25.

The fourth annual star-studded evening featured several iconic metal and hard rock artists performing some of Osbourne's greatest hits, including "Crazy Train" and "Over The Mountain".

Fan-filmed video footage of the concert can be seen below.

Tichy said about his decision to launch the event: "I love Randy Rhoads! He came into my life right at the same time I was learning guitar: 1980. He made me want to learn every note he played. I was already a drummer, but the guitar was right there with the drums, and a lot of that initial inspiration came from Randy's playing on 'Blizzard Of Ozz'. I didn't know what I was doing, but I really wanted to play like Randy Rhoads."

In a 2012 interview with Guitar World, Sarzo was asked if still sees Rhoads' influence today — and if he still thinks about him. "I think about him enough to have to sit down and write a book to answer the No. 1 question I get asked around the world: What was it like to play with Randy Rhoads?" Sarzo said. "He's such an influential musician even today, 30 years after his passing. The way I put it is, in any post-Randy Rhoads guitar player, I always hear some kind of influence in their performance, even in their compositional style. Every time I receive an email or a message on Facebook or whatever, from kids, young guitar players, 10, 14 years old, they say, 'Man, I discovered Randy Rhoads. He's my favorite guitar player.' That really touches me because it's great to hear a new generation giving Randy the credit he deserves for being the well where most guitar players drink from. He has influenced generations and still does. So do I think of Randy every day? Of course I do. We all do. All of us that got to know him and perform with him. We have that common. We'll never lose that bond, that thread, our admiration toward Randy as a musician and as a friend."

Watch AUDIOSLAVE

Watch AUDIOSLAVE's First Performance In More Than A Decade

AUDIOSLAVE reunited for its first performance in over a decade on Friday, January 20 at the Teragram Ballroom in Los Angeles. The band played three songs — "Cochise", "Like A Stone" and "Show Me How To Live" — as part of the Anti-Inaugural Ball, a star-studded concert protesting the 45th president Donald Trump hours after his swearing-in.

Video footage of AUDIOSLAVE's set can be seen below.

AUDIOSLAVE features SOUNDGARDEN singer Chris Cornell alongside RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE guitarist Tom Morello, bassist Tim Commerford and drummer Brad Wilk.

Morello discussed the possibility of an AUDIOSLAVE comeback during a recent interview with Music Radar.

"I love Chris and I love what we did together," he said. "That door has certainly never closed in any way, but right now, it's looking like we're pretty busy. We're in the middle of a North American tour [with PROPHETS OF RAGE], I'm also working on a record of my own and the other guys have things going on, too. But whatever happens in the future, Chris is one of the greatest singers of all time, and there's no way I couldn't be proud of the shows and music we played together."

Cornell told U.K.'s Total Guitar magazine in 2015 that he would also be open to an AUDIOSLAVE reunion. He said, "I think it would be great. We did a lot of songs, and with the benefit of not having done anything with those guys for so long, I can't imagine what it would be. It would be a really amazing experience just to get back and work with the same guys again."

Cornell continued, "We were certainly a prolific group of people; we wrote three whole albums in around five years, maybe less. And these were albums that were raw, and we had extra material, and we just never seemed to have trouble ever trying to agree on what would come out of the songs."

He added, "They were great guys, and I really enjoyed the experience that I had with them, so yeah, I would always be open to doing something."

AUDIOSLAVE came together in 2001 when Cornell teamed with the instrumental members of RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE.

After the break-up of SOUNDGARDEN in 1997, Cornell attempted a solo career which didn't catch fire at the time.

AUDIOSLAVE made three albums, a self-titled 2002 debut, 2005's "Out Of Exile" and 2006's "Revelations", before Cornell left the group in 2007.

He eventually reunited with SOUNDGARDEN in 2010, while RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE intermittently performed live between 2007 and 2011.

Morello told The Pulse Of Radio not long after AUDIOSLAVE's demise that he had no hard feelings against Cornell for quitting. "You know, Chris I consider a good friend and I love that guy, you know, and we went through a lot together, both musically and personally," he said. "And it was, you know, my belief that the band's friendship and roots were deep."

Cornell previously made a guest appearance in September 2014 during a performance by Morello at the El Corazon in Seattle.

DIO DISCIPLES Perform At

DIO DISCIPLES Perform At 'Hall Of Heavy Metal History' (Video)

DIO DISCIPLES — the project featuring former DIO members Simon Wright (drums), Craig Goldy (guitar) and Scott Warren (keyboards) alongside vocalist Tim "Ripper" Owens (JUDAS PRIEST, ICED EARTH, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN) and bassist Bjorn Englen (YNGWIE MALMSTEEN) — performed at the Hall Of Heavy Metal History all-star induction ceremony on Wednesday, January 18 at the Anaheim Expo Center in Anaheim, California. Check out fan-filmed video footage below.

DIO DISCIPLES, which pays tribute to Ronnie James Dio and is fully supported by Dio's widow/manager, Wendy, features a rotating lineup of musicians, including singers Oni Logan (LYNCH MOB) and Joe Retta (SWEET, HEAVEN & EARTH).

DIO DISCIPLES performed three new, original songs during the band's May 2016 appearance at the "Ride For Ronnie" motorcycle rally and concert for Ronnie James Dio Stand Up And Shout Cancer Fund in Encino, California.

Speaking to Hek82 at the "Ride For Ronnie" event, Owens stated about DIO DISCIPLES' plans to record and release original music : "Craig has really been instrumental in getting these songs written and trying to get it going on. And Joe and Oni [have] been doing a lot of shows with DIO DISCIPLES. They're really trying to push DIO DISCIPLES to put some music out — Wendy's been pushing it, and Craig's been pushing it — so these three we have here was three good ones we've already recorded. So it makes it special and it makes it even cooler that DIO DISCIPLES is gonna do our own thing."

In an interview with Myglobalmind, Goldy stated about the formation of DIO DISCIPLES: "You see, the band DIO was run like a family. So when your family member dies, the other members of the family that are left behind often try to do things to keep their loved one's memory alive. So that's where the DIO DISCIPLES came from. Wendy and Simon [Wright, sometime DIO DISCIPLES drummer] called me and said, 'We should really do something.' Because there were all these tributes going on for Ronnie; some of them were just trying to cash in on his passing and some of them were legitimate. However, we said, 'We are his family we should do something.' So that is where DIO DISCIPLES came from."

Goldy told Music Life Magazine that DIO DISCIPLES live performances are unique experiences. He said: "At every DIO DISCIPLES concert, there is a moment when the audience and band really connect. I am getting chills just talking about it. There are people in the audience looking up to the sky and singing at the top of their lungs with tears in their eyes, singing to Ronnie in heaven saying they miss him. It's just beautiful, and that's what the project was for."

ALICE IN CHAINS frontman William Duvall told the WRIF radio station last June that it was "too early" to talk about the band's new music, despite the fact that it's been more than three years since the release of their last studio album.

"The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here" came out in 2013 was the band's second disc with DuVall, who joined in 2006 following the death of Layne Staley.

IAN PAICE: DEEP PURPLE Hasn

IAN PAICE: DEEP PURPLE Hasn't Decided Yet If 'Long Goodbye' Will Be Band's Last Big Tour

British rock legends DEEP PURPLE will release their new album, "InFinite", the highly anticipated follow-up to their worldwide chart-topping effort "Now What?!", on April 7 via earMUSIC. The first single, "Time For Bedlam", was recently made available via a lyric video, which can be seen below.

Speaking to Heavyworlds last month, Paice stated about "InFinite" (see video below): "The album was recorded in Nashville at the same studio as 'Now What?!', with the same producer, Bob Ezrin. We're very happy with it."

DEEP PURPLE recently announced their "Long Goodbye Tour", which will bring the legendary live show once again all over the world. The band has not yet answered the many questions received by fans from all over the world who are speculating about the meaning of the title "InFinite" and "Long Goodbye".

"It'll be a long tour," Paice told Heavyworlds. "It may be the last big tour; we don't know. But it will be a long tour and we will try and get lots of the new record on the stage without losing some of the old songs."

He continued: "We haven't made any hard, fast plans [about whether we will do any long touring after 'Long Goodbye']. But it becomes obvious that you cannot tour the same way you did when you were 21. It becomes more and more difficult. People have other things in their lives, which take time. But never say never."

Paice added: "We enjoy playing onstage, but we have to be real about life, you know? So this will be a major world tour, and when it's finished, we'll see how it feels."

"Time For Bedlam" is available as instant grat as part of the digital album pre-order, as well as on all streaming platforms.

A limited-edition EP for "Time For Bedlam", with non-album songs and unreleased recordings, will hit the shops on February 3.

A documentary movie, witnessing the songwriting process and the recording of the album with Ezrin, has been produced, allowing for the first time for the fans to be part of the private band member interactions in the studio. The movie will be included in some editions of the album and it will be presented before release in various fan events worldwide.

DEEP PURPLE singer Ian Gillan stated about the "InFinite" album title: "If you take it literally, you may, quite reasonably, think the 'Finite' part of the word describes the life of DEEP PURPLE, with a clear beginning and a nebulous end; but what of the 'in' bit? The word 'infinite' is a three-dimensional, double-edged sword. It describes something that goes on forever in all directions; not unlike its temporal equivalent 'Eternal'. What's that all about?

"Stephen Hawking declared (in 'A Brief History Of Time') that, before the Big Bang there was nothing. That would put the kybosh on the idea of our universe being Infinite, as he provides a starting point, which is not acceptable to the concept. So, Hawking's universe in 'Finite'; by definition; whether he agrees or not.

"Ironically, he is quite wrong (scientists always are eventually), therefore the Universe is infinite, which means it will never end, and also means that it never started, and the corollary to that of course is that we don't exist.

"There is a metaphysical solution to all this, but it will have to wait until the tour is over because (thanks heavens) there are only 24 hours in a day (for the time being) or 10 hours in a metric day. More on that later…"

Paice suffered a minor stroke last year, forcing him to miss the band's shows in Sweden and Denmark — the first time his medical condition prevented him from performing with the group.

DEEP PURPLE — which has been eligible for induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame for two decades now — finally entered the Rock Hall as part of the class of 2016. The band's first three lineups were inducted, including drummer Ian Paice, guitarist Ritchie Blackmore, late keyboardist Jon Lord, and various singers and bassists — Rod Evans; Ian Gillan and Roger Glover; and David Coverdale and Glenn Hughes.

Listen To Live Recording Of JUDAS PRIEST

Listen To Live Recording Of JUDAS PRIEST's 'Locked In' From 'Turbo' 30th-Anniversary Reissue

British metal legends JUDAS PRIEST have announced the reissue of their tenth studio album, "Turbo". The album has been remastered and will be released via Sony Music on February 3 on three CDs (the original album and two bonus discs) as well as one-LP 150-gram vinyl.

Originally released in 1986, "Turbo" features all the hallmarks of classic PRIEST on tracks such as "Turbo Lover", "Parental Guidance" and "Locked In".

Included on disc 2 and 3 of the CD reissue is, previously unreleased, "Live in Kansas City", a live recording from the band's 1986 "Fuel For Life" tour in support of "Turbo".

The song "Locked In", recorded at the above-mentioned concert, can be streamed below.

JUDAS PRIEST says: The '80s is considered to have been the best decade for heavy metal — JUDAS PRIEST roared through it and at the half way point went into unchartered territory with 'Turbo'. Always believing that metal should have no boundaries, PRIEST challenged themselves taking on board new technical inventions to create fresh ideas and push their sound forward. The combined songs show another side of PRIEST's range of creativity that captures a theme and energy infused with the over the top sensibilities of that era. The 'Fuel For Life' tour certainly encapsulated the decadence of the times! 'Turbo' remastered and accompanied by a pedal to the metal live recording from Kansas reveals PRIEST on high octane — raising fists and devil horns to the next level."

CELLAR DARLING Feat. Former ELUVEITIE Members: Debut Album To Be Released Via NUCLEAR BLAST

CELLAR DARLING Feat. Former ELUVEITIE Members: Debut Album To Be Released Via NUCLEAR BLAST

CELLAR DARLING, the new band featuring former ELUVEITIE members Anna Murphy (vocals, hurdy-gurdy), Merlin Sutter (drums) and Ivo Henzi (guitars, bass), has inked a deal with Nuclear Blast. The group is currently working on its debut album, to be released later in the year. Two songs, "Challenge" and "Fire, Wind & Earth", were made available in September 2016 and can be streamed below.

CELLAR DARLING are storytellers. They want to carry you away into their world of music, awaking the spirit of the stories our parents told us before going to sleep, the dramas of love, war and poverty in the hour-long acts of an opera — the adventures of the human spirit with all its mysteries and emotions.

After their split with ELUVEITIE, Murphy, Henzi and Sutter reached out for new shores in 2016 and are now ready to let you see the world through their eyes with their unique and fresh sound, combining grand and heavy riffs, energetic drumming and a unique voice with the signature folky, earthy tones of the hurdy gurdy and classical elements — creating something entirely new, while continuing the spirit of musical innovation they have become known for.

Commented CELLAR DARLING: "We are extremely happy to be 'back home' after so many years as part of the Nuclear Blast family. They have shown continuing faith in us through difficult times, and we knew they needed to be among the first to hear our new music — and as it should be, everything else quickly fell into place. We are proud and excited to have found partners who understand our music and share our vision; together, we’ll make this year our year!"

Video Premiere: HELLYEAH

Video Premiere: HELLYEAH's 'Love Falls'

The William "Wombat" Felch-directed video for the song "Love Falls" from HELLYEAH can be seen below. The track is taken from the band's fifth album, "Unden!able", which was released on June 3, 2016 via Eleven Seven Music. The effort marks the first time HELLYEAH's current lineup — vocalist Chad Gray, guitarists Tom Maxwell and Christian Brady, drummer Vinnie Paul and bassist Kyle Sanders — has recorded together as a unit.

HELLYEAH's previous album, 2014's "Blood for Blood", was the album metal fans and critics were waiting for HELLYEAH to make, based on the revered metal pedigree of the individual members. Such an artistic achievement — the album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hard Rock album chart — meant the band set the bar incredibly high. HELLYEAH does not disappoint with "Unden!able". "We turned a corner with 'Blood For Blood' and we wanted to continue that path," Paul states. "It's much heavier and darker, and we take it to another extreme." The album also fosters a sense of community and the notion that "We're all in this together" among the metal community we are part of. The upside down "i" in the title is an exclamation point — a subtle indicator of how metal fans live their lives against the grain for their entire daily existence. "It doesn't matter how old you are — you are always a metal kid," Chad Gray declares, referencing himself and fans as one. With 2007's self-titled debut, HELLYEAH broke the ice, introducing the world to a band comprised of familiar faces who played in influential bands with signature sounds. 2010's "Stampede" showed off a more pleasure-seeking side of HELLYEAH. 2012's "Band Of Brothers" was marked by internal change and further experimentation, while "Blood For Blood" found the band reaching the summit of brutality, creativity, and artfully mined piss and vinegar. "Unden!able" is the logical next step and it's frontloaded with songs that crackle with a palpable industrial aggro energy. As guitarist Maxwell succinctly says, "It's belligerent and brutal, with peaks and valleys that bring you up and down, emotionally and lyrically." One reason it's so belligerent and brutal? The time crunch that came along with crafting the album. The band spent 18 glorious but grueling months on the road in support of "Blood For Blood" and was given exactly two weeks (!!!) off before it had to start working on "Unden!able". The pressure and lack of recess awakened a sleeping giant within Maxwell. There was literally no time to waste and he marshalled his emotions for inspiration. Without any time to decompress, Maxwell, came out of the gates in sniper mode, admitting there was "no time for demo-itis!" He confessed, "I was pissed, agitated, and distraught. In the long run, it helped. There was so much intensity in the frustration." Paul notes that the band "took no time off so that we didn't get complacent. We knew there was a window of opportunity." It may not have been optimal at the time, but it yielded a maximized result. "We know we did great, broken ankles and all," he states. HELLYEAH's usual formula remained unaltered when it came to the recording process. They demoed at Paul's home studio in Dallas, Texas before writing and recording with Kevin Churko in Las Vegas. "Unden!able" hosts redemptive, but throttling songs that will "scratch your soul," according to Gray. "X" is fast, furious and "over the top," says Paul. "It is something that metal fans need." It's expected to become an instant fan favorite. Meanwhile, the more contemplative "Human" is HELLYEAH's version of a power ballad, with an emphasis on "power." It's moving yet it's monstrous. The title track surges with raw energy and industrial crunch. "Love Falls" is a rhythmic and sultry departure for the band, which measures pain and anger equally, while "STARTARIOT" is nothing short of a fist-pumping, fuel-burning heavy metal epic. "Unden!able" is a complete work, including the cover artwork inspired by Chad Gray and designed by William "Wombat" Felch, who the band discovered by his artistic interpretations of HELLYEAH songs on YouTube, and whom Paul labeled "like a new member of the band," is a definitive visual matching the album's sonic wrath. It's also emblematic of the metal community and the kids who find their kindred spirits in HELLYEAH. The eyes are the portal to the soul," Gray says. "There is more extremity, so I wanted it to represent looking into the eye of someone who is a member of the metal community being cast out. You always feel like a fighter. So we created this eye and the exclamation point [in the title] as the stamp on this madness. You are looking into the soul of a metalhead." Overall, there's a surging current of hunger in "Unden!able". The members have had success in the past, but they're not satisfied with all they have done. "It's all I know," Paul muses about what keeps him manning the kit and making new music, despite a career so illustrious that no one would fault him if he chose to hang up the sticks. "I could have quit and could be playing golf. Being a traveling musician? That fuels me. I have a true passion and belief in HELLYEAH and heavy metal music." Gray concludes, "We're all in this together. We are metal fans first and foremost. We play off each other every night with our metal family. As a metal kid, I'd go to shows because I needed the release. Being on the other side now, I need this as bad as the fans do. I need to hit that deck every day and give everything I can."

Metallica frontman James Hetfield has narrated the new documentary, Addicted To Porn: Chasing The Cardboard Butterfly, from writer/director Justin Hunt. A trailer for the film can be found below.

Like it or not, porn is here and it is harmful. In this controversial film, award-winning filmmaker Justin Hunt dissects the impact of pornography on societies around the globe, from how it affects the brain of the individual, to how modern technology leads to greater exposure to youth, to watching it literally tear a family apart. In what may well be one of the most devastating issues in modern culture, this film will break down the damage that porn is doing to us a human race and leave you thinking that it's clearly time that we start taking porn addiction a bit more seriously.

Addicted to Porn' is both a micro and macro view of pornography in today's culture. Beginning with a brief history of sexuality in human beings and continuing on with how it affects the human brain, how modern technology, coupled with a lack of public education, is exposing youth to a level of sexuality that they're not prepared for, this film will open up audiences' minds to an entirely new perspective on what porn does to the individual, the family and society as a whole. With some of the world's leading minds on the issue, and narrated by Metallica frontman James Hetfield, this film is an authentic undertaking aimed at exposing people to the dangers of porn and the cycle of shame that can keep people addicted for a lifetime.

SOEN Feat. Ex-OPETH Drummer MARTIN LOPEZ: Watch Video For New Song

SOEN Feat. Ex-OPETH Drummer MARTIN LOPEZ: Watch Video For New Song 'Lucidity'

"Lucidity", the new video from SOEN, the progressive heavy rock group featuring world-renowned drummer Martin Lopez (formerly of AMON AMARTH and OPETH) and the dynamic voice of Joel Ekelöf (WILLOWTREE), can be seen below. The song is taken from SOEN's new full-length opus, "Lykaia", which will be released on February 3 via UDR Music.

Lopez tells Billboard: "This song represents a time in my life when I unconsciously walked towards self-destruction and celebrates, to an extent, the death of that lifestyle and the birth of a new era. It's dark but comforting. The music is soft and dreamy but carries the tension of a past-life full of mistakes."

"Lykaia" is a journey into earthier places — SOEN's most cohesive, powerful and congruent creative quest yet. For those who have followed SOEN's career thus far, the new album's concepts of journey and exploration are not new. 2012's "Cognitive" beat a firmly heavy, progressive metal path. 2014's "Tellurian" — with its PINK FLOYD explorative spirit and OPETH-like forceful power — saw SOEN start to stride freely into their own control and unique visions. The new album sees SOEN remain fascinated with the shadows and the darker edges of our world, with a particular focus on the various thoughts and concepts behind religion and ritualistic, belief-based behaviour in society. "Lykaia" pre-orders are now available in three formats — digitally, audio CD in digisleeve, and gatefold vinyl. Order now and receive "Sectarian" as an instant grat. Recorded at Ghost Ward, StudioGröndal and Deep Well in Stockholm, Sweden, with production duties handled by guitarist Marcus Jidell and the mix made by Stefan Boman, SOEN kept things as far away from the digital age as possible on "Lykaia", embracing warmth and organic recordings as the drive behind the technical working process. If the first two albums were harder, more technical, angular and perhaps cerebral pieces which demanded sharp focus, "Lykaia" presents a warmer, rounder, flesh and blood on the bones approach that allows listeners a dual entry to the eight tracks presented. The journey is no less dynamic, continuing the underscore of complex melodies with crushing power and no fear of walking proudly into more ambient spaces to explore the temperature. With "Lykaia", however, it is clear that SOEN have never felt more congruent or sure of themselves. "Lykaia" track listing:

THE UNITY Feat. GAMMA RAY Members:

THE UNITY Feat. GAMMA RAY Members: 'Rise And Fall' Single Released

THE UNITY, the new band founded by drummer Michael Ehré and guitarist Henjo Richter (both of GAMMA RAY), has released its first digital single and lyric video for the song "Rise And Fall" via Steamhammer/SPV. It is described in a press release as "a real taster for all aficionados of powerful hard rock and technically accomplished melodic metal."

In addition to Richter and Ehré, THE UNITY consists of Gianba Manenti (vocals), Stef E (guitar), Jogi Sweers (bass) and Sascha Onnen (keyboards), all of them musicians that many fans have been familiar with since Ehré’s former band LOVE.MIGHT.KILL arrived on the scene.

"During many gigs and countless hours in the rehearsal room, Michael and I discovered that we are on the same wavelength, on a personal as well as on a musical level. So we came up with the idea of focusing that part of our creativity that goes beyond GAMMA RAY in another band," Richter explained. "UNITY features the perfect lineup for that."

THE UNITY's self-titled debut album will be released on May 5, followed by a tour with German hard rock legends SINNER and a release show in their German hometown.

MEMORIAM Feat. BOLT THROWER And BENEDICTION Members: First Trailer For

MEMORIAM Feat. BOLT THROWER And BENEDICTION Members: First Trailer For 'For The Fallen' Album

MEMORIAM, the new Birmingham, United Kingdom-based death/grind metal band featuring Karl Willets (BOLT THROWER) on vocals, Frank Healy (BENEDICTION, CEREBRAL FIX) on bass, Scott Fairfax (CEREBRAL FIX) on guitar and Andy Whale (BOLT THROWER) on drums, will release its debut album, "For The Fallen", on March 24 through Nuclear Blast Records. It will contain eight tracks, including "War Rages On", "Resistance" (both featured on "The Hellfire Demos I") and "Surrounded (By Death)" (featured on "The Hellfire Demos II"). The album's impressive artwork was created by Dan Seagrave (BENEDICTION, DISMEMBER, HYPOCRISY, SUFFOCATION).

The first trailer for "For The Fallen", in which the members of MEMORIAM talk about how the band was formed, is available below.

Dan stated about the artwork: "Starting from the band's thoughts on visualizing a kind of funeral procession with a theme of combat, war and in conjunction with the title 'For The Fallen', as with all my works, I then attempt to make the information evolve in my mind's eye, and allow imagination to take over those elements but retaining the core concept. The painting thus depicts a funeral procession moving through a long-wartorn cityscape. Twisted shards of towers and buildings. A cathedral facade stands defiantly, yet riddled with destruction and decay. At closer insp, ection the structures all seem to be infected with an element of natural decomposition, as if organically inclined to fade with the demise of the season, the season itself lost in a timeless void. The figures appear as remnants of once soldiers, now strange in their gathered mass, drawn forwards by the drifting momentum of the procession. Unaware of their emaciated state they follow the commander. The commander's elongated appearance is tattered and almost creature-like, with the combat-style elements and gasmask falsely presenting as a costume. The procession appears almost ghost-like, ancient and serene, slowly moving through this eerie place as if forever. Far in the background there might still be a war happening, but perhaps in another time. As we view a sublevel of reality, lost in the present, captured in light, where the war had passed through and we are left in a ghost biology, where chemicals and history meet to create an inescapable surrealism."

To give a first taster of what to expect from this highly-anticipated record, the first single from "For The Fallen", "Reduced To Zero", can be streamed below.

Willetts stated about the track: "'Reduced To Zero' is a comment on the times that we live in. In a world that is dominated by fear, hatred and intolerance, the song is a direct result of Brexit and Trump and the general rise of right wing nationalistic xenophobia."

Pre-order "For The Fallen" now digitally and receive "Reduced To Zero" instantly.

MEMORIAM was primarily developed to fill the void that was left following the tragic death of Martin "Kiddie" Kearns, the drummer from BOLT THROWER, back in September 2015. BOLT THROWER subsequently placed all activity on hold for the foreseeable future which gave Karl Willetts an opportunity to develop a new project with friends that had expressed interest in forming a band for some time.

MEMORIAM is an old-school death metal band, maintaining the standards set by their previous bands, focusing on the themes of death, loss and war. Initially, the bandmembers got together to play covers of songs that had influenced them throughout their careers within the death metal scene. However, it soon became apparent that the new songs that they created were of a superior standard.

THY ART IS MURDER Officially Welcomes Back Vocalist C.J. MCMAHON; New Song Released

THY ART IS MURDER Officially Welcomes Back Vocalist C.J. MCMAHON; New Song Released

Australian extreme metallers THY ART IS MURDER have been rejoined by vocalist C.J. McMahon. To cement McMahon's return to his rightful throne, the band has released a brand new song titled "No Absolution". Check out the track below.

Guitarist Andy Marsh spoke on McMahon's return and the brand new track: "A little over a year ago, we were left in a pickle when C.J. had finally reached his breaking point — the physical, emotional and mental stresses of touring, and the lifestyle had taken its toll on him. After the dust had settled, we had time to speak amongst ourselves, and with him, and we were all able to get on the same page. He was able to take time off from the road and work consistently, tick off some life goals like getting married, and enjoy the routine and familiarity of life at home with his friends and family. Conversely, the rest of us kept going, touring relentlessly, playing bigger tours to more people than ever before, going to new countries for the very first time, and had a blast taking a few great vocalists and mates out for the ride with us while we weathered the storm and figured things out. Special thanks must go out to Monte Barnard, Nicholas Arthur, Lochlan Watt, and every other vocalist who took the time to apply in our discrete vocalist auditions. "After a few months away from the chaotic life on the road, C.J. reached out to us and we started maintaining more regular communication. He mentioned how he had started cleaning up, was focused on working hard and saving for his wedding and enjoying time at home, but he also mentioned he missed the shows, the friends, and us — his band. "After months of working things out, gaining his voice back, and mending wounded friendships, we are overwhelmed with excitement to announce that we have completed writing for a new record to be released later this year, featuring the one and only Christopher John McMahon. Welcome back, C.J.!"

In regards to the song "No Absolution", Marsh states: "'No Absolution' is a rich tapestry, intertwined in faith, scripture and doctrine, and a story about the process that we have endured throughout the last year. We recorded this during the session for 'Holy War' but quite simply ran out of time to finish writing lyrics and recording vocals for it in order to make the record. This song now stands alone, without a record or release — a gift from us to you, thank you for your continued support, we can't wait to show you what we're making for 2017."

McMahon rejoined THY ART IS MURDER on stage on January 14 at the Unify festival in Tarwin Meadows, South Gippsland, Victoria, Australia. The singer addressed the crowd at the show, saying: "I was a drug addict, I was a broke musician, and I had some fucking issues. I got married, I did some fucking soul searching, and now I'm back to take over the world with my fucking brothers." Fill-in vocalist Lochlan Watt added: "C.J. is back where he belongs, I am so fucking happy for him and my boys right now. This was truly incredible to witness. Power and then some."

THY ART IS MURDER's third album, "Holy War", entered the official Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) chart at position No. 7 — the highest-ever position for an Australian extreme metal act. The Sydney-based band has generated controversy for the strong anti-religious stance of the title track's video, as well as the album cover which features references to a suicide bomber.

"Holy War" was released in Australia via UNFD and in other parts of the world through Nuclear Blast.

BELPHEGOR Working On

BELPHEGOR Working On 'Furiously Heavy' And 'Fierce' New Album

European diabolical death/black metal commandos BELPHEGOR have returned to the studio to record their as-yet-untitled eleventh album. The follow-up to 2014's "Conjuring The Dead" will be released in September through Nuclear Blast, followed by an intense touring cycle worldwide. BELPHEGOR frontman/founder guitarist Helmuth Lehner comments: "The drums and bass guitar have been executed masterfully by Serpenth (bass, screams) and German maniac drummer Bloodhammer. A new chapter, a new challenge." Serpenth added: "We've once again created an LP with two different tunings in the manner in which we did 'Pestapokalypse VI' (October 2006). We've added a lot of new elements and structures to our trademark sound and tuned the guitars down to achieve even more brutal and obscure effects. These are the most furiously heavy, fierce and superior nine sound collages we have ever written and recorded." A clip of BELPHEGOR playing "Totenkult - Exegesis Of Deterioration", recorded live inside their rehearsal bunker, can be seen below. This scorching death/black metal track will be included on the upcoming album.

Former MACHINE HEAD Guitarist

Former MACHINE HEAD Guitarist's ONCE HUMAN Records 'Davidian' Cover

ONCE HUMAN, the band featuring former MACHINE HEAD and SOULFLY guitarist Logan Mader, has recorded a cover version of the MACHINE HEAD classic "Davidian", to be included as a bonus track on the Japanese edition of ONCE HUMAN's second album, "Evolution", which will be released on February 17 via earMUSIC/eOne.

A short video clip of the "Davidian" recording sessions can be seen below.

"Evolution" is not just the title of ONCE HUMAN's sophomore release, it's an armor-plated declaration. Having made waves with their 2015 debut, "The Life I Remember", the band has dramatically progressed beyond the melodic death metal sound of that release into something more complex, emotional, distinct, and devastatingly heavy.

"Having been focused on recording, producing and developing bands, I had not picked up the guitar out of passion for twelve years but as soon as I started writing with Lauren, I fell in love with what we were making, and I wanted to play in the band and get back on stage," states Mader, whose name will be familiar to metalheads not only for his production and/or mixing work on records from the likes of GOJIRA, FEAR FACTORY and DEVILDRIVER, but also as the original guitarist in MACHINE HEAD, and his late-'90s stint in SOULFLY.

"Our first record was getting the ball rolling, but now it's as if we're a totally different band. We really found our sound and our identity, it's quite unique and I think what we're doing is really on fire."

Armed with this track and the eight others comprising "Evolution", ONCE HUMAN intend to build on the groundwork laid down by the two tours they did in support of their debut, and make it damn clear that this is a band to be taken seriously.

"It's only been a little more than a year since we put out our first record, but we were so driven by the new sound that we forged that we needed to get back into the studio and capture it," Mader explains. "It was also important to prove to people that this is a real band. It's not just a project I felt like doing on a whim, this is a band that's going to have a full career, and now we're really getting started."

With the lineup rounded out by drummer Dillon Trollope, bassist Damien Rainaud and guitarists Skyler Howren and recent recruit Max Karon, everything about "Evolution" makes it clear that this is a band pushing itself to deliver something that truly stands apart. "Our first record was getting the ball rolling, but now it's as if we're a totally different band," says Mader. "We really found our sound and our identity — it's quite unique — and I think what we're doing is really on fire."

With the intensity and range of Hart's roar having drastically increased, she unleashes it across complex and constantly shifting time signatures, and thick, contorted riffs that land with sledgehammer force. However, this is not only about bludgeoning the listener into submission, the violence often juxtaposed with eerie atmospherics and dark melodies to create something with great depth.

"Evolution" track listing:

01. Flock Of Flesh02. Eye Of Chaos03. Mass Murder Frenzy04. Gravity05. Dark Matter06. Paragon07. Drain08. Killers For Cure09. Passenger
