BLACK SABBATH: Quality Video Footage Of Curitiba ConcertFan-filmed video footage of BLACK SABBATH's November 30 performance at Pedreira Paulo Leminski in Curitiba, Brazil can be seen below.
BLACK SABBATH guitarist Tony Iommi revealed in a recent interview with Ultimate Classic Rock that he plans to stay busy with music even after the band plays its final shows in February. Iommi said: "I'm not going to leave the music business. I still want to write and play and I'll be doing some TV for something over here in England called 'Guitar Star'. But I love the playing, I love gigs, I just can't travel anymore."
Iommi also indicated that SABBATH itself may still have a future, just not as a live act. He explained: "As I said, I'll be doing some writing. Maybe I'll be doing something with the guys, maybe in the studio, but no touring."
Iommi told The Pulse Of Radio a while back that he intends to keep playing music as long as he can. "I've always believed in what I do and I always... The music, for me, has been a major part of my life. It's lovely just to be able to keep on doing it just to upset people. As long as I can do it, I'll do it — and as long as I enjoy it. You've got to keep fit to do it at my age, so I'll have a go [at it]."
The legendary guitarist was diagnosed with lymphoma in early 2012, shortly after SABBATH revealed plans to reunite for a new album and tour.
He soldiered on, undergoing treatment even as the band recorded its 2013 album "13" and toured extensively to promote it. His cancer is now officially in remission.
SABBATH played the last U.S. shows of its career on November 8 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, November 10 in Houston, Texas and November 12 in San Antonio.
The band will close out its live career for good in early February with two shows in its hometown of Birmingham, England, where SABBATH first came together in 1968.

OVERKILL, ONSLAUGHT, UGLY KID JOE, MONSTER MAGNET Featured On 'Snaggletooth: A Tribute To Lemmy'Metalville Records has released a Lemmy Kilmister (MOTÖRHEAD) tribute album called "Snaggletooth: A Tribute To Lemmy".
This is not just a classic tribute record — bands like OVERKILL, DESTRUCTION, MONSTER MAGNET, UGLY KID JOE, MONSTER MAGNET and ONSLAUGHT are playing their favorite songs. The master himself, Lemmy, is on this record with three tracks — a fine version of one of the greatest QUEEN songs, "Tie Your Mother Down"; "Love Me Forever", a duet with Doro Pesch; and a great rare track, "Rock City Night", that he did with Richard Kruspe from RAMMSTEIN. The tribute also includes exclusive new songs, "Killed By Death" by German rockers KÄRBHOLZ, and "Burner", performed by German thrash heroes PERZONAL WAR. BLACK EXPLOSION from Sweden closes out this extraordinary compilation with "Location 9", inspired by early HAWKWIND days.
"Snaggletooth: A Tribute To Lemmy" track listing:
01. OVERKILL - "Overkill"02. ONSLAUGHT - Bomber03. Lemmy Kilmister and Doro Pesch - "Love Me Forever04. UGLY KID JOE feat. Phil Campbell - "Ace Of Spades05. Lemmy Kilmister - "Tie Your Mother Down06. KÄRBHOLZ - "Killed By Death07. Lemmy Kilmister and Richard Kruspe - "Rock City Night 08. DESTRUCTION - "We are the Roadcrew09. PERZONAL WAR - "Burner10. KORPIKLAANI - "Iron Fist11. MONSTER MAGNET - "Brainstorm 12. BLACK EXPLOSION - "Location 9
Lemmy, who celebrated his 70th birthday last Christmas Eve (December 24), learned two days later that he was afflicted with an aggressive form of cancer. He died two days later, on December 28, at his home in Los Angeles.
The MOTÖRHEAD frontman had dealt with several health issues over the past few years, including heart trouble, forcing him to cut back on his famous smoking and Jack Daniels habits.
The band canceled a number of shows last year, although they did manage to complete one final European tour on December 11, 2015.
In a 2015 interview with Kerrang! magazine, Lemmy was asked how it makes him feel when people call him a legend. He responded: "As long as they don't believe it, that's alright." He continued: "Who wouldn’t want a hero somewhere in their lives? And it might as well be me, 'cause I don't take the piss out of them for it, and I don't laugh at them because of it." But he added, "I'm not a legend. I never thought of myself as being special in particular. Maybe I make brilliant music, but that's about it."

AVENGED SEVENFOLD Wants To Stop WARNER MUSIC From Releasing 'Best Of' CollectionAccording to TMZ, AVENGED SEVENFOLD is attempting to stop its former label Warner Music from releasing a two-CD AVENGED SEVENFOLD collection called "The Best Of 2005-2013". The band sent a letter to the Warner's CFO claiming the company prepared the album without notifying them, letting them select the songs or prepare the artwork — a clear violation of their recording agreement.
Warner Music announced an AVENGED greatest-hits package just days before the surprise unveiling of the band's new album, "The Stage", scheduling it for a December 2 release after initial rumors hinted at a December 9 arrival for the group's Capitol Records debut.
AVENGED SEVENFOLD singer M. Shadows told 101.1 WJRR: "We're not promoting [the greatest-hits album] at all. That has nothing to do with us. They, basically, saw the [rumored release date] and, from what we understand, they are trying to undercut our new record, so they were trying to put it out the week before. And as childish as things can be behind the scenes with lawyers and stuff, as I'm sure you can imagine, this is childish on a whole new level."
Shadows added: "You're gonna try to put this record out right before our new record just to undercut us and try to confuse the casual fan, like, 'Is this the new record? Or is that the new record?' It's a record label basically digging themselves into a deeper hole, as far as I'm concerned, 'cause it doesn't look good to other bands who are potentially gonna sign there, and it doesn't look good to fans."
Warner Music sued AVENGED SEVENFOLD earlier this year for breach of contract. The suit seeks compensatory damages because the band is refusing to fulfill its agreement with the company. AVENGED SEVENFOLD released four studio albums through the label but sought to exit its contract, while Warner Music contended that the group owed the company a live CD/DVD.
At the end of 2015, AVENGED SEVENFOLD notified Warner Music that they would not render services to the label, citing Section 2855 of the California Labor Code, which limits the duration of personal-services agreements to seven years — the so-called seven-year statute.
To recover damages, Warner Music will have to show how much it would have earned had it released the band's latest album.
AVENGED SEVENFOLD released its seventh studio album, titled "The Stage", via Capitol Records on October 28, becoming the first-ever rock band to issue an unannounced album in both digital and physical form. The quintet revealed that their album was out during their live-streamed performance from the rooftop of the Capitol Records Tower in Hollywood, California on October 27. The band give a 3D/360-degree live-streamed virtual reality performance, enabling fans around the globe to view the show.
The marketing plan and launch of the album was months in the making, starting with the projection of the band's logo, the Deathbat, on buildings in cities around the world.
The campaign even included some misdirection, as the group had its friend Chris Jericho "accidentally" leak a fake album title and release date.
"The Stage" debuted at No. 4 on The Billboard 200 album chart, selling 76,000 physical and/or digital copies in its first week of release. While the sales were decent for the current music business, they represent the lowest first-week total for any AVENGED SEVENFOLD album since "City Of Evil" in 2005. "The Stage" sold less than half as many copies in its first week as the group's two previous efforts, 2010's "Nightmare" and 2013's "Hail To The King".

METALLICA Hangs Out With Canadian Tribute Band Its Lawyer Once Threatened With Legal ActionEarlier this week, the members of METALLICA got a chance to hang out with SANDMAN, a Canadian tribute band that received a cease-and-desist letter from METALLICA's attorney over the use of their name and logo to publicize SANDMAN's shows. The meeting took place in Toronto, where METALLICA played a special intimate club show Tuesday night (November 29), with all proceeds going to the Daily Bread Food Bank.
Back in January, METALLICA apologized to SANDMAN, explaining in a statement: "We hear that a Canadian METALLICA tribute band is a little upset with us and with a little digging figured out why. It turns out that a certain letter was delivered to the band SANDMAN that neither we nor our management were aware of until it surfaced online… It turns out that we have a very overzealous attorney who sent this letter without our knowledge."
METALLICA's statement continued: "We have a long history of not only enjoying tribute bands, but we started as one. Heck, we even recorded a two-disc album of covers! We will always remember those days and continue to enjoy tribute bands, even inviting them to support us on various tours over the years."
They added: "SANDMAN should file the letter in the trash. We've spoken to Joe Di Taranto of the band and it's all good. Keep doing what you're doing… we totally support you! And in the meantime, our attorney can be found at SFO catching a flight to go permanently ice fishing in Alaska."
Di Taranto told RollingStone.com that METALLICA drummer Lars Ulrich called him to personally apologize, saying: "He gave me and the band his full blessing to continue on as we were... We will continue to fly the METALLICA flag, loud and proud!!"
METALLICA has clashed with other parties over infringement issues before, and did pursue legal action. In January 1999, the band sued Victoria's Secret after it sold a lipstick line dubbed "Metallica." Then in 2000, METALLICA launched a trademark infringement suit over a perfume called "Metallica," which retailer Neiman Marcus was selling in its stores. Both cases were later settled. 5

ADAGIO Returns With 'Life' Album Next Spring; 'Subrahmanya' Single Available NowFrench melodic metallers ADAGIO will release their fifth full-length album, "Life", in the spring. The disc will mark the band's first release in seven years.
"The impetus behind the band's dormancy spanning almost a decade was our commitment to doing justice to our material," says guitarist Stéphan Forté. "To release the album in an incomplete or premature state would be a disservice to the music, the band, and most of all, to the fans."
With "Life", ADAGIO pushes the experience past just music, plunging the listener into a powerful introspective experience. Stéphan says: "Fear, joy, sorrow, love, pain, ecstasy... What if we could visit each of these emotions like exhibits in a museum? 'Life' takes you on contemplative journey, exploring the complex yet beautiful contortions of the subconscious mind." Each track is like a portrait in a gallery giving the audience a glimpse into the minds of the band members.
Stylistically, "Life" brings ADAGIO back to their progressive roots while expanding their musical boundaries. From the heavy "Subrahmanya", which is available as the first single now, and which combines traditional eastern ethnic and djent influences, to the dark and mesmerizing "I'll Possess You", "Life" is an epic canvas of atmospheres which will take the listener back to the ethereal places they had once visited but never managed to find again.
This album features several lineup changes for ADAGIO. "Life" marks the return of singer Kelly "Sundown" Carpenter, who had previously handled vocals for the band in a live situation. It also brings us the new addition violinist Mayline, adding new ethnic textures and dimensions to the band's sound.
"Life" will be released worldwide through Zeta Nemesis, funded through a highly successful crowdfunding campaign. "The crowdfunding campaign was a great accomplishment for us; we're incredibly thankful that our fans had such great faith in us, even after our long absence from the scene," Stéphan says. "This organic grassroots process has yielded the purest results and we are confident that this release will be heralded as the band's finest effort yet."
ADAGIO 2016 is:
Kelly Sundown - VocalsStéphan Forté - GuitarFranck Hermanny - BassKevin Codfert - KeyboardsGuillaume Bergiron - DrumsMayline - Violin 1

XANDRIA Releases Lyric Video For 'We Are Murderers (We All)' Feat. SOILWORK's BJÖRN 'SPEED' STRIDThe lyric video for the song "We Are Murderers (We All)" from German/Dutch symphonic metallers XANDRIA can be seen below. The track, which features a guest appearance by Björn Strid (SOILWORK), is taken from the band's new album, "Theater Of Dimensions", which will be released on January 27, 2017 via Napalm Records.
Commented the band: "After the release of 'Sacrificium', we embarked on our longest tour so far. Over 150 shows that took us around the globe. Through so many different countries and diverse cultures. Through so many different, yet inspiring dimensions. We brought back plenty of memories, sometimes just bits and pieces, but those stuck to our heads. And it made us see who we are and where we wanted to take our music. Made us fearless. Made us push our boundaries once more. Made us cross some so-called genre defining borders. Made us bundle all our trademarks and take them to the next level. All this makes the most colorful XANDRIA album so far. It contains our most heavy and most emotional moments. Again, producer Joost Van Den Broek did a phenomenal job capturing the atmosphere down to every detail. 'A Theater of musical Dimensions.' Can't wait to share the songs with you..."
"Theater Of Dimensions" is described in a press release as "a hyper-emotional affair — and a very heavy one too, naturally. High-class guest vocals can be heard by mighty Henning Basse (FIREWIND), Zaher Zorgati (MYRATH), Björn Strid (SOILWORK) and Ross Thompson (VAN CANTO). There is a soundtrack-like, orchestral finesse inherent to the compositions, echoed by pounding groove and sophisticated shredding. Folklore and ballad chime in ('Forsaken Love'), heavy thrash rears its ugly head ('We Are Murderers (We All)'), and overall there is no doubt: XANDRIA are not only fearless, they are at their most entertaining and thrilling!"
"Theater Of Dimensions" track listing:
01. Where The Heart Is Home02. Death To The Holy03. Forsaken Love04. Call Of Destiny05. We Are Murderers (We All)06. Dark Night Of The Soul07. When The Walls Came Down (Heartache Was Born)08. Ship Of Doom09. Ceilí10. Song For Sorrow And Woe11. Burn Me12. Queen Of Hearts Reborn13. A Theater Of Dimensions XANDRIA is:
Vocals: Dianne van GiersbergenGuitar: Marco HeubaumGuitar: Philip RestemeierBass: Steven WussowDrums: Gerit Lamm
XANDRIA released an EP, "Fire & Ashes", in July 2015. The effort contained three brand new songs — "Voyage Of The Fallen", "Unembraced" and "In Remembrance" — as well as re-recordings of two all-time favorites of the band's fans, "Ravenheart" (originally recorded for the album "Ravenheart" in 2004) and "Now & Forever" ("India", 2005). Cover versions of SONATA ARCTICA's "Don't Say A Word" and Meat Loaf's "I Would Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That)" were also be included on the EP.
XANDRIA's sixth album, "Sacrificium", was released in May 2014 via Napalm Records.
XANDRIA in 2013 parted ways with their singer of three years, Manuela Kraller, and replaced her with Dutch vocalist Dianne Van Giersbergen, who also fronts the progressive metal outfit EX LIBRIS.
Dianne Van Giersbergen made her live debut with XANDRIA at the end of November 2013 on a Spanish tour. 6

Wolf explains: "It was actually never really planned; it sort of just happened. At Bang Your Head!!!, they always record their shows, so we just thought, 'Yeah, let them film it!'" After Andy praises their stage show as being crucial for the great atmosphere, Wolf continues: "Yes, as well as the crowd. We've been there before so it felt familiar to film it and see what happens. Then we got the footage and we thought, 'Wow, it's pretty good!'"

To give their fans a taster of what to expect from this forthcoming live release and to make the waiting more tolerable, the live clip for "Restless And Wild" can be seen below.
Commented Hoffmann: "We didn't know exactly what would happen back in 2010, what happens if... But this was six years ago and we've released three records since then. With 'Blind Rage', we had our first No. 1 chart record! There can be nothing nicer!"
The package's title, chosen by the band couldn't be more suitable: "'Restless And Live' simply fits what we experienced at Bang Your Head!!! and for what we stand for until today!" Wolf says. "It goes on and on and on! We're already working on a new production. The thought of being on the road again soon gets our blood flowing: And it is possible to overcome everything that happened before."
Asked why it's so important for ACCEPT to still make new music after all this time, Wolf recently told Canadian rock journalist Mitch Lafon: "For us, it was very important, especially since we got [singer] Mark [Tornillo], and when we had our reunion with Mark, the new singer, we really wanted to show to the fans and to us that we still can write relevant new songs, and so that's why we really did three albums in five or six years — really banged them out, one after the other. And those three albums are, in a lot of fans' views, as strong as most of the stuff we've done in the eighties, if not stronger. So I think it's very important for us to come up with new songs, 'cause, you know, once you stop trying, or you're just living on the past, I think that's no good. We're trying to stay relevant, and the fans really appreciate that."
Regarding what Mark Tornillo has added to ACCEPT's sound, Wolf said: "He very much inspired us to write songs, because all of a sudden, he can pretty much sing anything we want him to do. With Udo [Dirkschneider, former ACCEPT singer], it was much more limited, what worked and what didn't work. And Mark, man, anything Peter [Baltes, bass] and I come up with, he can perform, and so that opened a lot of doors, musically, for us, and that inspired us totally. But, like I said before, we always try to stay close to what ACCEPT fans are wanting to hear from us, 'cause we could write a bunch of stuff that was left and right, genre-wise, but I'm not sure if fans would really appreciate it that much. And that's also where [producer] Andy Sneap came in, especially during the 'Blood Of The Nations' [2010] recording. He really, sort of, forced us more to stay true to the course. 'Cause he grew up being an ACCEPT fan and listening to the old albums, and he came in with an expectation, 'All right, we're gonna make a great new ACCEPT album, but it'd better sound like I want it to sound as an ACCEPT fan.'"

Sold-out arenas and spectacular shows with never before seen pyro effects, wind machines, video screens and of course NIGHTWISH's incomparable melodies are the elements that made their latest tour so unique. Special highlights for the band have been two particular shows though: The one in London, where they not only played their hymns such as "Élan" and the majestic "The Greatest Show On Earth" to more than 12,000 fans, but also welcomed the world famous scientist Richard Dawkins live on stage with them. Richard Dawkins's works had a massive impact on the thematical orientation of their latest studio album ”Endless Forms Most Beautiful". Finland's Tampere show however was a home run for the band and never before NIGHTWISH had such an immense stage production with them:
"I would say the main part of the DVD are those two shows, both Wembley and Tampere," says Tuomas. "Wembley is mentioned first due to its recognizability and legendary status. I remember the show being very special, both a goal achieved, and a starting point. The crowd was heartwarming. The presence of Richard Dawkins on stage was just mind-blowing. The overall experience was a once-in-a-lifetime thrill ride! The show in Ratina Stadion, Tampere, was a home crowd specialty (for four-sixths of the band) with the biggest stage production we've ever had. A lovely atmosphere throughout the concert, with many same faces in the front row as there were 15 years ago. Heartfelt."
When it comes to the fine artwork of the DVD, NIGHTWISH decided to walk different paths this time and come up with a little alternative idea, as Tuomas explains. "We didn't want to include a traditional band shot for the cover, as on the previous DVD release 'Showtime, Storytime'," he says. "So we started brainstorming on different options and the idea of a classic silent movie era Hollywood visuals quickly came up. With those classic slogans the cover has a little tongue-in-cheek-touch to it, but it's still classy and eye catching in its simplicity and originality." 1

HALESTORM Covers WHITESNAKE, METALLICA, SOUNDGARDEN Classics On 'ReAniMate 3.0' EPHALESTORM will release its third covers EP, "ReAniMate 3.0: The CoVeRs eP" on January 6, 2017 via Atlantic.
The track listing for the effort is as follows:
01. Still Of The Night (WHITESNAKE cover)02. Damn I Wish I Was Your Lover (SOPHIE B. HAWKINS cover)03. I Hate Myself For Loving You (JOAN JETT cover)04. Heathens (TWENTY ONE PILOTS cover)05. Fell On Black Days (SOUNDGARDEN cover)06. Ride The Lightning (METALLICA cover)
HALESTORM's cover version of WHITESNAKE's "Still Of The Night" can be streamed below.
"ReAniMate 3.0: The CoVeRs eP" follows HALESTORM's previous covers EPs, 2011's "ReAniMate" and 2013's "ReAniMate 2.0".
Speaking about how HALESTORM goes about picking which songs to record for series of covers EPs, bassist Josh Smith told RingRocker.com: "We start out with basically everyone… Our team… Oh my God! My dad finds out that we're doing a cover album, all I get is texts: 'Oh, you should do this.' But anyone… anyone who finds out we're doing a covers album, all of a sudden you're just getting this crazy list. So it literally starts out with e-mails of lists and lists, and somehow, over months, we kind of whittle down our list until we get to a short list of maybe ten songs or less. And then we record 'em and see what works and see what we like."
He continued: "Now, after the first one, we sort of followed a similar formula with the second one in that it's very generational — we have a song from '60s, '70s, '80s, '90s, a contemporary pop song… So that was a nice way to pick our songs. Really, that has been the template."
According to Josh, there is at least one added benefit to covering other people's songs when it comes to HALESTORM working on original material. He explained: "What's really cool is that when we do pick these songs, they really do influence us, because it's Songwriting and Performing 101. Where you have to deconstruct a song — a legendary song, essentially — you deconstruct it, and then rebuild it to how it works for us. And it really influences us in a lot of ways. For example, that album certainly influenced a lot of songs and ideas and gears on our newest album."
Added drummer Arejay Hale: "When we did 'Slave To The Grind' [from SKID ROW], we were, like, 'Oh, man! We need a song like this.' And then we wrote 'Love Bites', which is pretty much just off the feel of 'Slave To The Grind'. It's cool, 'cause we used to do that. We used to do three- or four-hour shows with covers and originals. And you're right — it is like training. And I always recommend that for newer artists, younger artists that wanna learn how to play drums or guitar. I always say the best way to really get good and learn how to develop your own style is to learn the styles of other people and learn other songs that you like or that challenge you. And it kind of makes you think differently. It's, like, 'Oh, this guy did these chords,' or, 'This guy played this kind of groove.' 'I bet I can do that in an original song.' So, yeah, it's kind of like training."
HALESTORM singer Lzzy Hale recently told Swedish outlet RockSverige that the band is continuing to write material for its next album, tentatively due next year. Hale revealed: "You have no idea the weird songs I've been writing, subject matter and musically. Musically, it's kinda been a long journey to the beginning, so we're kinda going back to our total roots. We're gonna do a rock record this time. It's like total balls to the wall, but lyrically, it's been a little weird and that's my fault."
The new record will follow up 2015's "Into The Wild Life", which was criticized by some fans for veering too far into pop music territory. 4

PHIL LEWIS Quits L.A. GUNSSinger Phil Lewis has announced his departure from L.A. GUNS. His official statement on the matter reads as follows:
"Dear friends and fans, with a heavy heart, I have to inform you that as of January 1, 2017 I will no longer be a member of this lineup. I feel I have gone as far as I can in this band, and unless I get out and focus on myself and something new that has a future, I'm going to stagnate.
"For the last five years, I've been enthusiastic to record a new record. 'Hollywood Forever' really recharged my batteries and made me feel very proud to be in this band, but it feels like so long ago now. At this stage, I want to walk away with at least a little dignity.
"I want to thank you all for your solid support throughout the last 15 years. We've had the pleasure and honor of playing so many wonderful countries, and I've always made a point of getting out and meeting some of the best, most loyal fans in the business. Your smiling faces will always be a huge part of my adventure, and I want to say thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart. What's the point of making records or playing shows if you don't have fans for feedback, and I feel blessed to have so many cool people who treasure the music as much as I do as a part of our fan base.
"I will continue writing, recording, and performing in the future. I have some solid plans, and I'm also open to where fate will take me on my musical adventure, and I sincerely hope if I'm anywhere near you, you'll come out and say hi and hear what I'm doing.
"I love rock and roll, it's been my religion and salvation for many decades, and I feel the fire burning in my soul to do more. I have no plans on slowing down or retiring anytime soon, so please don't be sad.
"Wish me luck and please stay in touch. Goodbye."
There is no word yet on what will happen to Lewis's previously announced project with L.A. GUNS guitarist Tracii Guns, which has been playing shows in recent months. The duo signed a deal with Frontiers Music Srl this past summer and was supposed to release an album in 2017, also under the name L.A. GUNS.
Dear friends and fans. With a heavy heart I have to inform you that as of Jan 1, 2017 I will no longer be a member of...

DEEP PURPLE Announces 'The Long Goodbye Tour'Legendary rockers DEEP PURPLE have announced the "The Long Goodbye Tour", set to take place at the end of 2017.
This will be the chance to see the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame inductees, one of the most iconic bands ever, in support of their brand new studio album, "inFinite", which is released by earMUSIC early in 2017, preceded by the first single out January 20. The tour name fuels speculation that DEEP PURPLE is planning to retire from the road after travelling the globe countless times over the course of a nearly five-decade career.
PURPLE drummer Ian Paice suffered a minor stroke last year, forcing him to miss the band's shows in Sweden and Denmark — the first time his medical condition prevented him from performing with the group.
The follow-up to 2013's "Now What?!", "inFinite" was tracked in February at a studio in Nashville, Tennessee and was once again helmed by Bob Ezrin, who has previously worked with KISS, PINK FLOYD, PETER GABRIEL, ALICE COOPER and KANSAS, among others.
DEEP PURPLE singer Ian Gillan recently told Antihero magazine about the PURPLE songwriting process: "DEEP PURPLE was different than any other kind of writing I do with other people. DEEP PURPLE is primarily an instrumental band, and the routine is we book [time] in a studio somewhere, and the [other] guys [in the band] come in at noon. They start jamming and they work 'till six o'clock, take a break at three for a cup of tea and then do that every day. Roger [Glover, bass] and I listen to the music and clock out the occasional bit and think that might be okay for a tune on the album or something. Then we start refocusing on making arrangements and how to develop the song. Then when it is all tucked away, I start thinking about the lyrics and the tunes. There is no point before they get literally torn up every day because everything changes every day. There's no shortage of things to write about lyrically. There is no point trying to create a tune on something that's going to change in a couple of hours. That's how it worked with PURPLE. This is primarily an instrumental band. I just climb on board and write it along." DEEP PURPLE "The Long Goodbye Tour" U.K. dates: Nov. 17 - Barclaycard Arena BirminghamNov. 18 - Manchester ArenaNov. 20 - Cardiff Motorpoint ArenaNov. 22 - SSE Hydro GlasgowNov. 23 - The O2, London
Support on the trek will come from Swedish hard rockers EUROPE. Tickets go on sale Friday, December 9 at 9 a.m. from www.aeglive.co.uk.
DEEP PURPLE — which has been eligible for induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame for two decades now — finally entered the Rock Hall as part of the class of 2016. The band's first three lineups were inducted, including drummer Ian Paice, guitarist Ritchie Blackmore, late keyboardist Jon Lord, and various singers and bassists — Rod Evans; Ian Gillan and Roger Glover; and David Coverdale and Glenn Hughes. 13

MACHINAE SUPREMACY Release Guitar Playthrough Video For New Track “My Dragons Will Decimate”A guitar playthrough video for Machinae Supremacy’s new single, “My Dragons Will Decimate”, can be seen below.
Guitarist Tomi Luoma discusses the gear used on the track, "For "My Dragons Will Decimate" I used a Jackson Kelly with active EMG pickups to record those balls-out metal riffs over Nicky's epic old-school VGM synth tracks. We use the ElevenRack for all guitars, but sometimes we just line in and use software FX like Amplitube to get the right sound. Dragons has a little bit of both."
There's a big difference between video game-inspired metal and actual "video game metal". Machinae Supremacy proves that difference, owning the title with an 8-bit power metal onslaught that sounds like it could have been the symphonic soundtrack to your favorite ‘80s Nintendo game. Hailing from Sweden, Machinae Supremacy have quickly risen up the ranks over the course of the last decade, amassing a global fanbase. Their webography, a free music catalog on their website, has racked up over 10 million downloads and counting, to date.
After releasing several independent albums and following with five albums released through international metal label Spinefarm Records, Machinae Supremacy have taken matters back into their own hands with the upcoming release of their new album, Into The Night World, hitting stores on December 16th via their own Hubnester Records, in collaboration with Swedish music company BD Pop. Pre-orders are no available via iTunes.
Vocalist Robert Stjärnström states, "Going back to being independent has truly sparked our creativity and energized us in the most amazing way. Into The Night World is in some ways more simplistic than our last album, but somehow it manages to be both more playful and more sophisticated. There is still a story, but all of that is encapsulated in pure, straight-forward songs, each with its own separate, parallel meaning and purpose."
Tracklisting:
“My Dragons Will Decimate”
“Into The Night World”
“Twe27ySeven”
“Remember Me”
“Space Boat”
“Stars Had To Die So That You Could Live”
“Beast Engine”
“Dream Sequence”
“Sid Metal Legacy”
“The Last March Of The Undead”
“My Dragons Will Decimate”:
Following the release of their album, Machinae Supremacy will embark on their very first US tour. Beginning at MAGFest in Washington, DC on January 7th, the band will be joined by Urizen and Danimal Cannon for several dates hitting eastern and central portions of the country through January 21st. Psychostick and Knight Of The Round will join select dates.

Machinae Supremacy has kept busy outside of the average cycle album and touring. RUSH - “Something For Nothing” Live Outtake Audio Streaming From Upcoming 2112 40th Anniversary EditionAfter celebrating over 40 years together with the same trio lineup, UMe continues the celebration of the Rush catalog with the release of three 40th anniversary expanded editions of the band’s classic 1976 album, 2112.
On December 16th, 2112-40th will be released in three distinct variations. The 2CD/DVD edition will include a newly remastered CD of the original 2112 album by Abbey Road Studios, and an additional CD of rare, live and previously unreleased material including newly-recorded tracks from 2112 featuring Dave Grohl and Taylor Hawkins of Foo Fighters along with Nick Raskulinecz, Billy Talent, Steven Wilson from Porcupine Tree, Jacob Moon and Alice In Chains.
The set includes two outtakes from the 1976 Massey Hall concerts including “Something For Nothing”, which you can now listen to below:
The set’s third disc is a DVD featuring a newly restored vintage 1976 Rush concert recorded at the Capitol Theatre in Passaic, NJ, plus bonus videos of the Grohl/Hawkins/Raskulinecz track and Billy Talent track, and a new 25+ minute interview featuring Rush guitarist Alex Lifeson and longtime producer & engineer Terry Brown. The new 2112 remaster originally appeared on the much-acclaimed 2015 hologram vinyl edition of the album; this marks the Abbey Road Studios master first time on CD.
UMe is also releasing a three-LP 200-gram vinyl edition incorporating all of the aforementioned audio material, plus a special laser-etched LP side, the 2015 hologram on 2112’s side B and a unique turntable mat featuring the band’s iconic Starman character. Fans will also have the option of purchasing a Super Deluxe edition of 2112, incorporating both CDs, the DVD, all three LPs plus its bonus items, and several exclusive collectable items including two 12-inch x 12-inch lithos, one featuring Hugh Syme’s original Starman pencil sketching, the second showcasing a 1976 Massey Hall ticket stub; a reprint of the 1976 Massey Hall handbill and three buttons featuring each band member, all housed in a box lined with velvet flocking.
For a peek inside this wonderous release, enjoy the following video:
For the first 1,000 Super Deluxe pre-order purchases at Rush.com, us.udiscovermusic.com and udiscovermusic.com, the purchaser will receive a limited edition 7-inch pressing of the album’s first single “The Twilight Zone” (b/w “Lessons”) and a custom red star 45 large hole adapter ring, both newly designed by Hugh Syme.
All three versions of 2112-40th feature extensive liner notes by renowned rock historian Rob Bowman, and newly designed artwork by longtime Rush art director Hugh Syme. The set’s rare recordings include “Solar Federation”, spotlighting the isolated Neil Peart vocals that close the song “2112” in “Grand Finale,” two outtakes from the 1976 Massey Hall concerts including “Something For Nothing” and a nearly complete 15+ minute performance of “2112,” as well as a recently-rediscovered live version of the album track “The Twilight Zone,” which has only been performed twice in the band’s long history.
The epic 2112 album which guitarist Alex Lifeson described as “the first record where we sounded like Rush,” is widely regarded as a crucial landmark in Rush’s body of work. Although it was the band’s fourth album, it’s generally considered to be the one on which the band’s epic sound and ambitious conceptual approach blossomed. Resisting record-company pressure to focus on shorter, more radio-friendly songs, the band stuck to its guns and constructed the album’s seminal seven-part, 20-minute title piece, a conceptual suite set in a dystopian future.
In addition to its status as a creative landmark, 2112 was also Rush’s commercial breakthrough, becoming the band’s first album to reach the Billboard LP chart and the first Rush album to achieve Gold sales status in the U.S. (it was subsequently certified Platinum). 2112 was also Rush’s first platinum album in Canada, spawning a now-legendary Canadian tour that culminated in a three-night stand at Massey Hall in Toronto, which was recorded for Rush’s first live album, All the World’s a Stage.
2112 is one of two Rush albums listed in the book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die, and it ranked second on Rolling Stone’s 2012 readers’ poll of “Your Favorite Prog Rock Albums of All Time.” In 2006, the non-profit Audio-Visual Preservation Trust of Canada chose 2112 as a culturally significant example of Canada’s audio-visual heritage.

XANDRIA: Listen To 'Theater Of Dimensions' Audio SamplesGerman/Dutch symphonic metallers XANDRIA will release their new album, "Theater Of Dimensions", on January 27, 2017 via Napalm Records.
Audio samples of the songs "Where The Heart Is Home", "When The Walls Came Down (Heartache Was Born)", "Ceilí" and "Song For Sorrow And Woe" can be streamed below.

THE BUSINESS Frontman MICKY FITZ Dies After Battle With CancerSinger Michael "Micky Fitz" Fitzsimmons of THE BUSINESS has died after a battle with cancer.
No official statement has been released by the rest of the band, but condolences are pouring in from the punk, hardcore and oi! communities around the world.
At the end of 2015, Fitz was diagnosed with cancer on the lymph gland and had been undergoing radiotherapy.
South London's skinhead heroes THE BUSINESS have been a driving force in the scene for more than three decades. During this time, they produced countless anthems for their beloved "working class," ranging from terrace style sing-alongs to astute social commentaries.
Since forming in 1979, the band has releases more records than even some of the most long-standing punk bands, toured all over the world, released records on labels such as Epitaph, Taang!, BYO, TKO, Captain Oi! and many more, as well as having Lars Frederiksen (RANCID) produce one of their records and having shared a split release with DROPKICK MURPHYS.
THE BUSINESS's song "England 5 - Germany 1" became a football anthem for England and has appeared in the movie "Euro Trip". They even dedicated an entire album to football-related songs, titled "Hardcore Hooligan".
Back in 2013, an interviewer asked Fitz if the working-class issues, as he saw them, were the same after three and a half decades. "Some of them are the same," replied the frontman. "People out of work...is an old problem, but it's relevant now. Computers have put people out of work. There's so much work that can be done on the computer now that used to take ten people now.
"I'm actually a technophile, I love technology, have to have the next new phone. I love cinema and TiVo, but I am not a social networker because I think it's taken away personal touches, and privacy. I'd rather use the telephone." 1

Watch FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH Perform With PHIL LABONTE For First TimeALL THAT REMAINS frontman Phil Labonte made his live debut with FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH last night (Thursday, December 1) at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Labonte is filling in for regular FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH singer Ivan Moody who "has fallen ill" and is currently receiving treatment.
Fan-filmed video footage of the Philadelphia concert can be seen below.
FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH has seven shows to go on its current U.S. co-headlining arena tour with SHINEDOWN.
FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH guitarist Zoltan Bathory explained the band's decision to finish out the tour with a replacement singer: "Ivan is our brother and we fully and wholeheartedly support him taking care of himself so he can get well as soon as possible. We discussed possibly canceling the remaining shows but the responses from the other bands on the tour were so overwhelmingly supportive that we decided to move forward and deliver the great night to the fans that they expect."
Labonte, a former Marine and close friend of Moody, once before saved the day for KILLSWITCH ENGAGE in 2010 when their singer at the time, Howard Jones, left the band mid-tour. Phil said: "I got their six and stepped up right away. I'm honored to be able to help FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH to finish their tour and give Ivan a chance to take care of himself. I did the same for KILLSWITCH ENGAGE years ago. I was humbled to get the call and get a chance to play in front of such a great audience."
In an unprecedented move of solidarity, artists from the four-band bill of the tour have vowed to finish the dates on a high note and stand behind Ivan in his endeavor to get well. The FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH show at the Wells Fargo Center featured guest performances by Labonte, James Michael, vocalist of SIXX:A.M. and AS LIONS, the U.K. newcomers fronted by Austin Dickinson.
FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH was forced to cut a show in Worcester, Massachusetts on November 28 short because Moody was unable to perform. Although it was reported that Moody was overcome with grief over the illness and possible death of someone close to him — not his mother as initially reported — a number of audience members reported that he appeared to be intoxicated and disoriented.
Moody previously had an onstage meltdown during a May 2015 show in Memphis. The incident was blamed on his abuse of alcohol and drugs. He entered rehab after that.
Bathory told The Pulse Of Radio a while back in happier times that Moody was a true rock 'n' roll spirit. "He's very much the 'last pirate,' the middle finger of this generation, you know what I mean?" he said. "He's really the guy who jumps in a car anywhere in the world and says, 'Yeah, let's go' — no passport, no papers, nothing, just goes anywhere. He's really the last free spirit, he pretty much just lives for the now, you know, does what he feels like doing. So there's something admirable, for me at least — I'm looking at, like, I wish I could do that."

RATT Singer STEPHEN PEARCY's New Solo Song 'Jamie' Available For StreamingFrontiers Music Srl has set a January 27, 2017 release date for Stephen Pearcy's fourth solo album, "Smash".
Pearcy, best known as the original vocalist and founding member of the platinum rock band RATT, has been working hard to complete his highly anticipated new album, while at the same time keeping busy performing shows across the U.S.
Another audio offering from "Smash", a track called "Jamie", can be heard below. Stephen will be supporting "Smash" with live dates in the U.S. and internationally. "It took long enough to finish the new record 'Smash' and it is well worth the patience taken, giving every song as much attention as the next," says Pearcy. "Erik Ferentinos (lead guitarist and co-writer), Greg D'Angelo (drummer) and Matt Thorne (bassist, keyboardist) and myself didn't settle on any first, second or third takes. We let some songs grow if needed, then go back and complete it. We're very happy with the outcome, that we were able to experiment and grow with the new songs."
Regarding "I Can't Take It", Pearcy said: "It has the RATT signature sound because [early RATT producer] Beau Hill got back into the mix. We've always been in contact, and I told him, 'Look, I'm recording so much music.' And it's very diverse, very straightforward, very experimental stuff. And he was interested. And at the end of day, he mixed, mastered, and it's, like, alright, we're ready to go. Let's see where this takes us. But if it wasn't for him, it wouldn't sound like it sounded." As previously reported, the newly reunited RATT — featuring Pearcy, bassist Juan Croucier and guitarist Warren DeMartini — has been confirmed to perform at next year's edition of the M3 Rock Festival, set to take place on Friday, April 28, 2017 and Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland.
Pearcy, Croucier and DeMartini took control of the RATT name after a judge ruled against drummer Bobby Blotzer with respect to whether Croucier had committed trademark infringement by using the RATT name and logo to advertise his band RATT'S JUAN CROUCIER back in the fall 2015. The judge furthermore decided that the corporation WBS, Inc., of which Blotzer and DeMartini were thought to be the sole shareholders, and which Blotzer has claimed owns the RATT name and brand, did not have ownership interest in the RATT marks and that the name and brand was still owned by the members who were part of the original RATT partnership agreement: Pearcy, Croucier, DeMartini and Blotzer.
Pearcy, DeMartini and Croucier have now expelled Blotzer from the partnership, according to a press release issued by the trio. Blotzer thus has no further interest in the RATT name and may now only refer to himself as a "former member of RATT," as per the partnership agreement.
