SEVENTH WONDER Streaming “Alley Cat” Bonus Track From Upcoming Welcome To Atlanta Live 2014 Release

SEVENTH WONDER Streaming “Alley Cat” Bonus Track From Upcoming Welcome To Atlanta Live 2014 Release

Seventh Wonder's first live album, Welcome To Atlanta Live 2014, will be released on September 23rd. Pre-orders are available here. Listen to the bonus track “Alley Cat”, streaming below.

One of the major draws of the fifteenth edition of ProgPower USA, that was the opportunity to get to see Sweden's finest progressive metal band, Seventh Wonder perform their signature album Mercy Falls in its entirety. And judging by the crowd's reaction on that night, it was obvious that the fans had been waiting for this for a long time. Not content, the band played again the following day to a crowd of gold badge-holders and VIPs, including singer Tommy Karevik's mates from his other band Kamelot, and performed a bunch of songs from other albums which were not played the night before.

All in all it was a genuine and raw performance and this live album sums up very well all the best material included in Seventh Wonder's acclaimed first four albums and lets you know what to expect in terms of direction of new material to come. In fact, the band decided to round out this amazing release with two studio tracks. One is the awesome "Inner Enemy", already available on YouTube (streaming below). The other song, "The Promise", is an epic track of almost 10 minutes in length which highlights the multifaceted talents of this band.

Bass player Andreas Blomqvist says, "It has been a dream of mine for many, many years to be able to record and release a solid live product. Fans of music such as ours usually enjoy watching live performances, as the musicianship is often very much in focus. "Mercy Falls" was the perfect album to bring to the live setting, but we just never had a chance to pull it off before. Finally the stars aligned, and we made it happen. As icing on the cake, Frontiers stepped in to release it for us, which we are delighted about. We are very happy with the way it turned out, and the mix is nothing short of amazing! I am thrilled to be able to bring you guys this release and thankful that Frontiers chooses to prioritize this release right away, so that the fans starved for Seventh Wonder releases at last gets something solid to sink their teeth into while waiting for the upcoming studio album!"

This album aptly closes the first chapter of the band's history and works as a tasty appetizer for the new studio album planned for release in early 2017.

Welcome To Atlanta Live 2014 will be available in two physical configurations: a 2 DVD set and a very special, limited edition deluxe digibook containing 2 CDs and 2 DVDs. Final tracklisting below (CD version is only available in the deluxe edition 2CD/2DVD).

Tune in to the AUDIENCE Network concert special Blue Öyster Cult airing Friday, September 2nd, at 9 PM, ET/PT (DIRECTV Ch 239/U-verse Ch 1114). The classic rock band stopped by Red Studios in Los Angeles to perform their seminal album Agents Of Fortune in it's entirety live. In the episode, the group sits down with Ted Stryker for an in depth interview spanning their history.

For a preview of the AUDIENCE Network concert special, video of the band performing their classic hit "(Don't Fear) The Reaper" can be found below. Also available are behind-the-scenes clips of the episode (also below).

AUDIENCE Network's new music slate continues to deliver groundbreaking concerts, unique stories and exclusive performances across all genres, plus select programming in ultra high-definition/4K*, to audiences nationwide since multiple series began airing this past January. Recent concert specials include Cheap Trick, Peter Frampton and others. New shows premiere via national broadcast Friday at 8 PM, ET/PT on DIRECTV Ch 239/U-verse Ch 1114, as well as streaming on directv.com, uverse.com and on smartphones and tablets, via the DIRECTV and U-verse apps.**

AUDIENCE Network's multiple series of original and exclusive performances give music fans an intimate view of music's most influential artists today. The network collaborates directly with musicians to create a unique show from their perspective.

For over four decades, Blue Öyster Cult has been thrilling fans of intelligent hard rock worldwide with powerful albums loaded with classic songs. Indeed, the Long Island, NY-based band is revered within the hard rock and heavy metal scene for its pioneering work. Blue Öyster Cult occupies a unique place in rock history because it's one of very few hard rock/heavy metal bands to earn both genuine mainstream critical acclaim as well as commercial success. The band is often cited as a major influence by other acts such as Metallica, and BÖC was listed in VH1's countdown of the greatest hard rock bands of all time.

Upon the release of BÖC's self-titled debut album in 1972, the band was praised for its catchy-yet-heavy music and lyrics that could be provocative, terrifying, funny or ambiguous, often all in the same song. BÖC's canon includes three stone-cold classic songs that will waft through the cosmos long after the sun has burned out: The truly haunting "(Don't Fear) The Reaper" from 1976's Agents Of Fortune, the pummelling "Godzilla" from 1977's Spectres and the hypnotically melodic "Burnin' For You" from 1981's Fire Of Unknown Origin. The intense creative vision of BÖC's original core duo of vocalist/lead guitarist Donald "Buck Dharma" Roeser, and vocalist/rhythm guitarist Eric Bloom are complemented by Richie Castellano on guitar and keyboards, and the longtime rhythm section of bass guitarist  Kasim Sulton, and drummer Jules Radino. For the taping of this special performance, they are joined by former member Albert Bouchard (guitar, percussion, vocals).

THE RETICENT To Release On The Eve Of A Goodbye Prog Metal Concept Album In October; Music Videos Streaming

THE RETICENT To Release On The Eve Of A Goodbye Prog Metal Concept Album In October; Music Videos Streaming

Grammy nominated Christopher Hathcock has returned with the fourth album from The Reticent. Heaven & Hell Records has announced the October 5th release of On The Eve Of A Goodbye. The album was produced by Jamie King (BTBAM, The Wretched, Scale The Summit), and will be released on limited edition CD with complete lyrics.

Check out the official video for album track "The Girl Broken", as well as "The Comprehension" video below.

This is undoubtedly the most ambitious and intense offering from The Reticent to date. An uncompromising autobiographical concept record, On The Eve Of A Goodbye is certain to exceed all expectations, boasting 73 minutes of stirring progressive metal that must be heard in its entirety to grasp the full magnitude.

On The Eve Of A Goodbye is an autobiographical concept album. All of the tracks serve to detail the day before, day of, and day after the suicide of The Reticent's mastermind Chris Hathcock's childhood friend, Eve. The songs chronicle his concern for her, her deterioration into self-hatred, and culminates with the tragic act and its aftermath. Not only a stylistic contrast to previous releases, this album is also intensely more personal than past Reticent albums (which were already emotional purges). The album is intended to be heard as a single entity rather than a collection of tracks.

Tracklisting:

“24 Hours Left”
“The Girl Broken”
“The Hypocrite”
“19 Hours Left”
“The Comprehension”
“The Confrontation”
“The Apology”
“10 Hours Left”
“The Mirror's Reply”
“The Postscript”
“2 Hours Left”
“The Decision”
“Funeral For A Firefly”
“The Day After”
“For Eve”

"The Girl Broken" video:

"The Comprehension" video:

The album was recorded in order in the span of a few days in the summer of 2015 (with a touch up in November 2015). Producer/Engineer Jamie King (known for previous work with BTBAM, The Wretched, Scale The Summit, etc.) chose to allow Hathcock to do as he needed in the studio as he felt it added greatly to the emotion of the record. In fact, on the song "Funeral For A Firefly" when trying to record the lead vocal part, Hathcock made it only two lines in before sobbing hysterically as memories and the trauma he had held back for a decade came flooding to the forefront. After calming to the point that he could catch his breath, Hathcock told Jamie King that he felt unable to record the song. Jamie encouraged him to try just one more time and if it didn't work, they'd drop it. Hathcock went back into the booth and made it through the entire song with constant tears streaming down his face and his voice cracking and quivering as he went through. Jamie was so affected by the performance he said he wanted to keep the raw performance - as in no edits to the sound so every sniffle and breath could be heard putting the listener in the booth with the despairing singer.

IN FLAMES: Lyric Video For New Song

IN FLAMES: Lyric Video For New Song 'The End'

The official lyric video for "The End", a brand new song from Swedish metallers IN FLAMES, can be seen below. The track is taken from the band's upcoming twelfth studio album, "Battles", which will be released on November 11 via via Nuclear Blast in all territories excluding North America and Scandinavia and Eleven Seven Music Group in the U.S. The CD was recorded in Los Angeles with Grammy-nominated producer Howard Benson, who has previously worked with MOTÖRHEAD, BODY COUNT and SEPULTURA, among others.

IN FLAMES guitarist Björn Gelotte described "The End" as "a fairly straightforward IN FLAMES song. Having said that, it's a really positive vibe [to] the song. It's not a slash-your-wrists kind of vibe; it makes you realize to just make sure you appreciate that moment."

Gelotte also talked about how the recording process for "Battles" compared to that of its predecessor, 2014's "Siren Charms".

"'Siren Charms' had a very dark vibe to it," he explained. "We recorded it at a cold, damp and dark time during the year in Berlin so it gave it a certain melancholy to the record. Now recording in L.A. with the sunshine, it's a different energy. The writing process was different this time, too — that I would like for us to continue to explore. Also, working with Howard and his team was great. I got stressed taking a break for even five minutes because they were always ready to go for the next take and kept my energy up."

"I think being in California really affected this album in the sense that we had a studio in the house that we were staying at and the vibe was really relaxed which lent itself to productivity," added vocalist Anders Fridén. "It really helped having a producer who could make us focus on what we needed to accomplish and keep us on track."

"This was a very new approach for us because we've never let anyone else in the way we did with Howard," said Gelotte.

"Battles" sees the band making the hooks sharper, the riffs tighter and honing the overall attack in a way that parallels their legendary live shows in an unparalleled fashion.

"When people hear this album I think they're going to instantly know that it's the new IN FLAMES without us repeating the same song over and over, and that's something I'm incredibly proud of," Fridén said. He went on to downplay the changes in the band's sound, calling "Battles" "guitar driven, melodic… it's like they know what to expect. It's not like we're coming out with something completely different, but at the same time it's still new. If they already like IN FLAMES, they will like it — and if they don't like IN FLAMES already, they still might like it."

IN FLAMES will release its new concert DVD, "Sounds From The Heart Of Gothenburg", on September 23 via Nuclear Blast. The set was recorded on November 7, 2014 at Scandinavium in Gothenburg, Sweden. IN FLAMES last year inked a new management deal with Tenth Street Entertainment, which also looks after MÖTLEY CRÜE and FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, among others.

The band's last disc, "Siren Charms", sold around 9,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 26 on The Billboard 200 chart.

IN FLAMES drummer Daniel Svensson announced last fall that he was leaving the band to focus on his family life. He said in a statement: "It's hard to leave what have become my second family, but now it's time for me to take care and spend more time with the most important people in my life — my wife and my three daughters."

IN FLAMES has not yet named a replacement for Svensson.

Denmark’s PREVAIL To Release War Will Reign Album In October; Details Revealed

Denmark’s PREVAIL To Release War Will Reign Album In October; Details Revealed

Prevail delivers groovy death metal directly from the darkest parts of Jutland, Denmark. The experienced 5-piece including former members of Svartsot is a relatively unknown quantity in the Danish metal scene.

Prevail have spent time developing the aggressive tone that is a the steppingstone for their debut album that has received the appropriate title, War Will Reign. The album is a tornado of leg crushing guitar riffs and technical ability. War Will Reign is an inferno of sound that takes no prisoners. There is no doubt that Prevail is "old school" but they are also a band that doesn’t shy away from great melodic choruses inspired the new and alternative metal genres that have gained tremendous popularity all over the world.

The production of the album is thick, chaotic and crystal clear and is recorded and mixed in the legendary Hansen Studios by Jonas Haagensen.

Lyrically, Prevail addresses topics and stories about the darker sides of the human mind, the question of war, pain, worldwide spread of disease, and generally the darkest corners of the human mentality.

They have already shared the stage with bands like Unearth, Ferocity, Corpus Mortale, Artillery, Illdisposed, Konkhra, One Machine and many others. Now Prevail are ready to stand on their own feet and convince the metal community that Denmark have a brand new metal warship that will resonate for several years.

The album will be released on October 15th and will be celebrated with two release parties respectively Von Hatten October 1st and Lygten St. October 15th.

SABATON:

SABATON: 'The Last Stand' First-Week Chart Positions

"The Last Stand", the eighth studio album from Swedish metallers SABATON, has registered the following first-week chart positions:

#1: Czech Republic#1: Finland#1: Sweden#2: Germany#4: Belgium#11: Netherlands#11: Norway#15: Hungary#17: UK#29: Australia#92: Ireland

"The Last Stand" was released on August 19 via Nuclear Blast. The follow-up to 2014's "Heroes" was once again produced by Peter Tägtgren (PAIN, LINDEMANN, HYPOCRISY) and it "marks a brand new chapter in SABATON history," according to a press release.

SABATON bassist Pär Sundström previously stated about "The Last Stand": "We once again worked with Peter Tägtgren in his newly upgraded and top-class Abyss studio in Sweden to record, produce and mix the album. The mastering [was] done by Jonas Kjellgren who also works in the same building in nice Pärlby on the countryside of Sweden. Both 'Carolus Rex' and 'Heroes' were done in the same way and we [felt] very comfortable to return to the same place and people again. Fans will recognize the sound of the album as SABATON, but we really feel we took it a step forward this time."

The artwork for "The Last Stand" was created by Peter Sallaí, who has worked with SABATON since "Carolus Rex". Sundström explained: "We had the idea to make an image reflecting soldiers of different times representing the different historical battles we sing about on the new album. This only reveals a small part of the album topics though."

Stated SABATON vocalist Joakim Brodén: "The concept of a last stand has always fascinated me, and both me and Pär were 'all in excited' about the subject so it was an easy choice to make."

Added Sundström: "We have always several ideas for albums to work with. Since there are countless different views and angles of war, we will, unfortunately, never run out of ideas. We kinda felt that the last stand was something perfect for SABATON. Something we really wanted to do. 'Heroes' was a perfect theme and 'The Last Stand' is right down our alley too. It was exciting to do the research."

"The Last Stand" was made available in the following editions:

- CD+DVD-Digi (including a concert DVD)- CD- Box (including earbook, 2LP Pic, 12" photo card, 12" poster, three plectra)- 2LP (black, clear, gold, yellow/blue)- Special edition (SABATON tank + box)- Digital

Said CROWBAR frontman Kirk Windstein: "I intentionally went back and listened to a lot of old CROWBAR stuff, like the self-titled and 'Broken Glass' albums, to get a feel for what my mindset was 20-plus years ago. I also went back and listened to the bands that influenced CROWBAR in the beginning, like TROUBLE, SAINT VITUS, MELVINS, and the first TYPE O NEGATIVE record. So it was kinda me doing my homework."

The result is an album that stands toe-to-toe with those early CROWBAR classics while maintaining the lumbering hooks of mid-period standouts like 1998's "Odd Fellows Rest" and 2000's "Equilibrium". "Even lyrically, the approach was a little more old-school," Windstein offered. "Some of the songs have less lyrics to let the riffs breathe a little more, which I had kind of gotten away from over the years. It was a conscious thing to go back to that.”"

The tour cycle for "The Serpent Only Lies" marks the return of original CROWBAR bassist Todd "Sexy T" Strange, who left the band back in 1999 but now joins Windstein, drummer Tommy Buckley and guitarist Matt Brunson in forging CROWBAR's future.

"Todd helped start the band, so having him back is important to me and, I think, the fans," Windstein said. "It's a great feeling to be standing onstage next to him. It's a breath of fresh air for the band and makes us stronger.

"Having this be our eleventh record, we're very fortunate because so many bands don't last this long," Windstein added. "My whole outlook on music as a career is the MOTÖRHEAD outlook, which is that slow and steady wins the race. If you continue to put out killer records, continue to kick ass onstage every night and continue to treat your fans with respect, that's the stuff people will remember."

Video Premiere: PRETTY MAIDS' 'Face The World'

"Face The World", the new video from Danish hard rock veterans PRETTY MAIDS, can be seen below. The song is taken from the band's upcoming album, "Kingmaker", which will be released on November 4 via Frontiers Music Srl.

The track listing for the CD is as follows:

01. When God Took A Day Off02. Kingmaker03. Face The World04. Humanize Me05. Last Beauty On Earth06. Bull's Eye07. King Of The Right Here And Now08. Heavens Little Devil09. Civilized Monsters10. Sickening11. Was That What You Wanted

PRETTY MAIDS' last release was 2014's "Louder Than Ever", a collection of new songs and re-recorded tracks from the band's past albums. The CD included eight re-recorded classic songs from the 1995-2006 era, plus four brand new songs specially written for this record and a special bonus DVD including archive footage from the '80s and brand new interviews.

Regarding the PRETTY MAIDS lyric-writing process, frontman Ronnie Atkins told Myglobalmind in a 2013 interview: "Well, it's often that the atmosphere of the song sort decides which direction the lyrics will take. I'd always preferred to write about something that most people could relate to, not being political in trying to take people in any direction or inspire them to. But there's so much shit going on in this world that there's plenty to write about. But let me state I'm no, and don't pretend to be some sort of, Dylan or Lennon! [Laughs] After all, we've always seen ourselves and what we do as merely entertainment and not pretending to be highly intellectual."

It's Official: MISFITS Recruit Ex-SLAYER Drummer DAVE LOMBARDO For Upcoming Shows

As first reported by BLABBERMOUTH.NET on July 21, it has now been confirmed that the classic-era lineup of the horror punk outfit MISFITS has recruited Dave Lombardo (pictured; SLAYER, SUICIDAL TENDENCIES) to play drums for the band for their upcoming shows at the end of the summer.

Glenn Danzig, Jerry Only and Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein will reunite for first time since 1983 to headline this year's Riot Fest.

The reunion, billed as "The Original Misfits," will take place at the Riot Fest in Denver and Chicago. The first show is scheduled for September 2-4 at Denver's Riot Fest And Rodeo, while the second will happen at Riot Fest And Carnival, set for September 16-18 in Chicago.

"The MISFITS created the horror punk attitude and had a massive influence on modern rock, punk and metal," Lombardo told Rolling Stone. "It was an easy decision for me to join them for these monumental shows. I was honored to be asked, and am very excited to be playing with the band."

"I first met Dave back in 1988 when DANZIG did four shows with SLAYER in the U.S., before the first DANZIG album was released," Danzig said. "Dave is one of the best drummers around, and I can't wait for everyone to see him pounding MISFITS songs live for these special shows."

Only added: "With the immensity of the two shows we're planning together, the biggest decision we had was who is going to keep time and power this monster machine on drums? When Dave Lombardo's name was thrown into the ring, Glenn and I were immediately on the same page from the very start; a good sign of things to come. I think the darker side of punk we created with the MISFITS spawned the growth and evolution of punk into thrash, and sired bands like METALLICA and SLAYER, just as we inspired countless others in the punk revolution."

According to Only, the reunion came about after a meeting he had with Danzig in January. The pair had gotten together with the MISFITS management in order to discuss the rights to the band's name and merchandising with a view towards avoiding any further litigation between the parties.

Glenn didn't rule out more dates after the Riot Fest shows, saying: "We'll see how it goes. It may lead to some other work, but who knows how it's going to turn out? I mean, I don't think it's going to be a disaster; I think it's going to be incredible."

Regarding what fans can expect to see at the upcoming MISFITS concerts, Danzig said: "I'm just going to do what I normally do, which is to go out there and try and have a great time myself and make sure everybody has a fantastic fucking time. I want them to be so blown away they don't know what the fuck just hit them."

The original MISFITS band broke up in 1983, and bassist Jerry Only brought forth a new version of the MISFITS in 1995. Various members have come and gone, but Only, along with BLACK FLAG's Dez Cadena, has kept some form of the MISFITS in the recording studio and on the road for most of the last two decades.

After the original MISFITS disbanded, vocalist Glenn Danzig went on to form SAMHAIN and then the eponymous DANZIG. Several albums of reissued and previously unreleased material were issued after the group's dissolution, and their music became influential to punk rock, heavy metal, and alternative rock music of the late 1990s and early 2000s.

SIRENIA To Release

SIRENIA To Release 'Dim Days Of Dolor' Album In November

Norwegian-based symphonic gothic metal veterans SIRENIA have set "Dim Days Of Dolor" as the title of their upcoming album. Due on November 11, it consists of eleven brand new songs plus one bonus track. The artwork was once again created by Gyula Havancsák from Hjules Illustration And Design. All recordings have been completed and the album is currently being mixed at Hansen Studios in Denmark.

SIRENIA recently parted ways with their Spanish singer Ailyn Giménez García for "personal reasons." The band said in a statement: "We part ways on good terms and we wish Ailyn the best of luck for her future endeavors. Thanks a lot for the great years we shared in the band and thanks for all your efforts in this period; we are forever grateful. It has been a true delight and privilege working with you. May all your dreams be fulfilled and may your future shine."

The new SIRENIA singer will be officially announced on September 8.

SIRENIA was forced to cancel a recent concert in the Czech Republic after Ailyn's mother died, "a tragic event that had an impact on Ailyn's health as well," the band explained. Another show in Kherson, Ukraine went ahead with the help of a session singer, Emmanuelle Zoldan, who had contributed guest vocals to every SIRENIA album since 2004.

Ailyn released a statement to BLABBERMOUTH.NET in which she said that her exit from SIRENIA was not her decision. Ailyn (born: Pilar Giménez García) joined SIRENIA in 2008 as the replacement for Monika Pedersen, who left the group a year earlier after only one album due to "musical differences."

Ailyn was best known as a former contestant on the Spanish version of "The X Factor", the biggest television talent competition in Europe.

She appeared on four studio albums with SIRENIA: 2009's "The 13th Floor", 2011's "The Enigma Of Life", 2013's "Perils Of The Deep Blue" and 2015's "The Seventh Life Path".

Video: ACE FREHLEY Performs In Dallas, Texas

Video: ACE FREHLEY Performs In Dallas, Texas

JAM Magazine has uploaded video footage of former KISS guitarist Ace Frehley performing the song "Rip It Out", "Toys" and "Rocket Ride" at Gas Monkey Live in Dallas, Texas on August 18. Check it out below.

According to The Pulse Of Radio, Frehley recently said that Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley's mistreatment of him at KISS's 2014 Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction actually inspired him musically. Frehley, who released the covers collection "Origins, Vol. 1" back in April, received great reviews and scored a Top 25 hit with the set. To the surprises of many, Paul Stanley has joined forces with Frehley on the album, taking the lead on a cover of FREE's classic 1970 track "Fire And Water". The recording marked the first time the KISS co-founders appeared on an original album together since the band's 1998 set, "Psycho Circus".

Frehley revealed to The Pulse Of Radio that the impetus for "Origins, Vol. 1" reaching its potential actually came from his treatment by his former bandmates at the Rock Hall induction. "As you probably know, we were asked to perform at the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame ceremony, by the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, and me and Peter [Criss] were up for doing that and Paul and Gene shot it down, y'know?" he said. "They made some innuendos that maybe me and Peter weren't up for the task, and that just made me do a better record. [Laughs]"

The Pulse Of Radio asked Frehley how his sobriety improved the recording process this time around. "I'm a lot more focused and I think when people listen to this album, they're probably going to say that — in fact, a lot of reviewers have already said that," he said. "I'm a lot healthier than I was ten years ago. Not everybody can say that in their 60s, y'know, that they're healthier than they were in their 50s. So, I mean, it's a big plus. Y'know, I got a beautiful lady that I'm engaged to, who co-wrote two songs on the record with me and, y'know, life's good today."

SOTO Part Ways With earMusic; New Album In The works

SOTO Part Ways With earMusic; New Album In The works

SOTO, featuring veteran vocalist Jeff Scott Soto, recently parted ways with their label earMuisc after two albums, Inside The Vertigo and Divak. The band is in preparations for additional touring in 2017 beginning February 10th in Wolverhampton, U.K.  The band is also working on their third album while locking in a new home for it.

Coming off a busy year of touring worldwide, SOTO will hit the studio to write, and record much anticipated new music. This third as-yet-untitled album will follow up both Inside The Vertigo and Divak with a much heavier direction than the previous two albums.

A video for the song “Unblame” from Divak is streaming below:

Divak (pronounced "dee-vock") comes shortly after the band's debut release, Inside The Vertigo. It's a mere 15 months later, partly due to singer Jeff Scott Soto's insistence on continuing to create and build a true brand for his new venture.

Once again, the album is produced by Jeff Scott Soto and drummer Edu Cominato. It was mixed by long time JSS engineer/associate John Ellis, as well. The band features Soto on vocals, Cominato on drums, lead guitarist Jorge Salan, bassist David Z, and keyboardist/guitarist BJ. They are heavily featured on Divak, with their writing contributions together.

The first single "FreakShow" was co-produced/written by Tony Dickinson, who also co-wrote "The Fall”, which was the first single from Inside The Vertigo. The track is an extension of the Soto sound created especially for this new band.

Soto, formed in 2014, are the dream band created when Jeff Scott Soto realized how much he missed the "heavier side" of his career after fronting artists like Yngwie Malmsteen, Talisman, and Journey, and even his own solo albums. The band hopes to continue its role as a driving force in today's current hard rock and metal scene.

Former FLYLEAF Singer LACEY STURM To Release

Former FLYLEAF Singer LACEY STURM To Release 'The Mystery' Book In October

Following the 2014 release of Lacey Sturm's widely praised debut book, "The Reason", the former FLYLEAF singer has announced another deeply personal memoir, "The Mystery: Finding True Love In A World Of Broken Lovers" . Due on October 4 from Baker Books, the book touches on the topics of love, relationships, divorce, depression and suicide, inspired by Sturm's own experiences.

In "The Mystery", Sturm guides readers through her own journey and struggles — from childhood through her current marriage — providing personal insight into love and relationships. Reaching out to those who have learned to define love through their own wrecked relationships, shattered romances and dysfunctional families, Sturm offers new, healthy ways to think about and pursue love.

Lacey's debut solo album, "Life Screams", was released on February 12 via Followspot Records with The Fuel Music distribution. Sturm in 2014 opened up about some of the reasons why she quit FLYLEAF in the fall of 2012, shortly before the release of the band's third album, "New Horizons". Speaking in a video to promote her memoir, Sturm said that several events, including getting married, having a baby and enduring the death of the band's sound engineer Rich Caldwell changed her priorities. Sturm explained: "The one that hit the hardest was the death of our sound engineer. We did one last show with FLYLEAF as a benefit for his wife Katy and their son Kirby. And it was really hard to do a show without him, and it was really hard to think it could be our last show. So I remember looking at my son after Rich had passed and just wondering to myself, if this was the last year I had with my son, how would I spend it?"

Sturm added: "It was really amazing to recognize this season changing in my life and the freedom that I was gonna be able to focus on my family. And I'm so thankful for that time. And although it was really hard, I'm thankful. And that's the reason I stepped down from FLYLEAF."

FLYLEAF recruited singer Kristen May as Sturm's replacement and released its fourth album, "Between The Stars", in September 2014. May has since left the group.

DARKHAUS To Release When Sparks Ignite In September

DARKHAUS To Release When Sparks Ignite In September

On September 30th intercontinental modern / dark rock outfit Darkhaus will release their sophomore full-length album When Sparks Ignite via SPV Records GmbH.   The album is available for preorder via the Amazon widget below.

The album features 12 new ear-catching tracks of edgy guitars, atmospheric textures, and the unmistakable hooks and passionate melodies, which the band has become internationally recognized for.

"Artistically speaking, we instinctively continued where we left off with our last release, Providence.  So with this new album, we further embellish on our own unique brand of emotionally captivating dark-stained modern rock ", states bassist / lyricist Gary Meskil (also leader of the legendary hardcore group Pro-Pain).

Like their debut album My Only Shelter, all of the new songs were written in Florida, where the group finds the right amount of solitude to creatively flourish. This process is especially important to producer / lead guitarist Rupert Keplinger (a multi-Gold/Platinum artist and songwriter whose work with chart-topping artists such as Eisbrecher, Peter Maffay, Laith Al-Deen, Oomph! and others is well documented).  "Each band and or artist I work with has their own recipe for success, and in my opinion, Darkhaus has found just the right combination of ingredients" claims Rupert.

"Everything is covered, from loud, fast rock-tracks to piano ballads - yet today we are more direct and more intense, sometimes even calmer and more mature. Probably even bolder", adds lead singer / frontman Ken Hanlon, who not long ago strummed  his acoustic guitar in the pubs of his Scottish homeland  yet quickly becoming the new, great voice of dark rock.

After playing a multitude of high profile shows over the last 2 years (with notable acts such as Subway To Sally, Eisbrecher, Lord of the Lost, Letzte Instanz) and having gained a sworn and loyal community of fans at important scene-specific events  (M'era Luna, Amphi Festival, Wave-Gotik-Treffen, Castlerock and more), the band will soon be set to embark on a headlining tour of Europe  (see dates attached) in  support of their new release When Sparks Ignite, an intoxicating chain reaction of sonic emotion which is sure to spread quickly and globally.

SLAVES ON DOPE – More Horse Album Details Revealed

The ILS Group (ILS), a leading distribution and label services company dedicated to bringing independent artists and labels to a major audience, has announced the release of Slaves On Dope’s latest release Horse on September 23rd to be marketed and distributed globally by ILS through its partnership with the Universal Music Group.

Formed in 1993 by Jason Rockman and Kevin Jardine in Montreal (Québec), Slaves On Dope somewhat eschewed the grunge music explosion of the time for a new and heavier metal sound.  The band relocated from their native Montreal to Los Angeles quickly signing with Ozzy Osbourne’s Divine Recordings. The subsequent release, Inches From The Mainline, helped the band reach a much larger audience through radio airplay, retail sales, and live appearances including the Ozzfest and the SnoCore Tours alongside Ozzy Osbourne, Pantera, Godsmack, Incubus, Disturbed, Linkin Park, QOTSA, Fear Factory, Soulfy and more.

After over 23 years together, Slaves On Dope return with Horse, an album that will redefine what the world thinks of the band by enlisting the likes of Darryl McDaniels (Run DMC), Bill Kelliher (Mastodon), H.R (Bad Brains) and Lee-la Baum (The Damn Truth). The cover art is an original painting created especially for the release by Marvel Comics artist Marco Rudy. Horse is the next chapter in the story that is Slaves On Dope.

“It was a dream come true to collaborate with members of Run DMC, Mastodon and Bad Brains. These are all bands we have idolized and respected forever. It speaks volumes to the passion for creating and giving back!” --Jason Rockman

ALMAH - “Age Of Aquarius” Lyric Video Launched

ALMAH - “Age Of Aquarius” Lyric Video Launched

Brazilian metallers Almah, led by ex-Angra singer Edu Falaschi, have unleashed a new lyric video for the song “Age Of Aquarius”, taken from their brand new album, E.V.O, which will be released on September 23rd worldwide via Pride & Joy Music (Europe), Test Your Metal (North America) and King Records (Japan).

E.V.O is the fifth studio album from Almah, it was recorded in São Paulo, Brazil at IMF studios by Tito Falaschi and mixed and mastered by Damien Rainaud (Fear Factory, Dragonforce) at Mix Unlimited in Los Angeles, California. It is a concept album and the main idea is based on evolution of people’s mind and soul during so-called Age Of Aquarius - the new era that the world is about to live. The author of the concept, Edu Falaschi, touches different subjects connected to the main idea, creating very positive lyrics and the whole album’s atmosphere.

Musically, E.V.O brings a fresh and powerful sound with typical modern and heavy Almah’s touch but this time one will be able to realize that it also has a direct connection with the Angra’s Rebirth (the first Angra’s album with Edu's voice). The compositions are pleasant travel between the modern power metal, contemporary rock and prog metal. The vocal lines on E.V.O are very powerful, classic and the voice has a higher pitch comparing to the previous Almah’s records. It’s very melodic, clean and into the bel canto style.

Tracklisting:

“Age Of Aquarius”
“Speranza”
“The Brotherhood”
“Innocence”
“Higher”
“Infatuated”
“Pleased To Meet You”
“Final Warning”
“Indigo”
“Corporate War”
“Capital Punishment”

FAITH NO MORE Share Video Of Full 1986 I-Beam Performance

FAITH NO MORE Share Video Of Full 1986 I-Beam Performance

Faith No More, who released We Care A Lot (Deluxe Band Edition) last Friday, are sharing video of the band’s full 1986 I-Beam performance.

Audio from two of the songs performed that January 13th evening, “The Jungle” and “New Beginnings,” are included on the reissue. The original 10-song album, which has been re-mastered by Maor Appelbaum via the original reels Bill Gould unearthed in his basement, is enhanced with nine bonus tracks including demo versions (taken from the original 8-track tapes) of “Greed,” “Mark Bowen,” “Arabian Disco” and “Intro,” live versions of “The Jungle” and “New Beginnings” and new mixes, via Matt Wallace, of “We Care A Lot,” “Pills For Breakfast” and “As The Worm Turns.” Liner notes from keyboard player Roddy Bottum and behind-the-scenes photos are included with the physical release.

We Care A Lot originally arrived in November 1985 via Maximum RocknRoll editor Ruth Schwartz’s Mordam Records. The seminal album, boasting the timeless title track, which can still be heard daily on radio stations worldwide, confounded music fans and critics alike.

“When strangers ask what Faith No More is I’ve always said, ‘well, it’s kind of an art band…’ I say that mostly to distance us from the hard rock world that we’re often times lumped into. I mean, hard rock, sure, that was part of it, but our roots most definitely and pointedly stem from a specific freakout art time and place in San Francisco, a time that no longer exists. In 1982, the hippies mingled with the punks, the artists hung out with the musicians, the dance people and the punks were one and the Satanists and the sexual pioneers… all part of the same scene,” Bottum explains, colorfully setting the scene for the original inspiration for the band and We Care A Lot. “That weird SF window provided a platform from which we were free to express and cultivate a really uniquely odd sound experience. In Los Angeles, no one really cared much, but SF was always super supportive, encouraging us, directly and not, to get our collective freak on.”

“We felt like it was time to take the next step,” adds drummer Mike Bordin. “We raised as much money as we were able and booked time at Prairie Sun Studios just north of San Francisco. I can’t remember how long it took us to record the album, but not a lot, maybe a few days. The songs were sharp from having played most of them at various shows.  Very stripped down, basic as could be.  The place was on a farm in chicken country (Petaluma). Hard work, but a ton of fun too.”

SHARON OSBOURNE Says OZZY Cheated On Her With Five Women In Five Different Countries

SHARON OSBOURNE Says OZZY Cheated On Her With Five Women In Five Different Countries

Sharon Osbourne has told U.K.'s The Sunday Times magazine that her husband Ozzy cheated on her with five women in five different countries. She also revealed that the BLACK SABBATH singer had been unfaithful for several years before seeking therapy for sex addiction.

She said: "The shit that's been going on with my husband recently, it's been going on for about five years but people are talking about it now. We've survived everything, drink, drugs and now it's women.

"Somehow drugs and drink is more acceptable I think. When it's somebody that has a sex addiction, it's embarrassing. He's come out and admitted it finally. It's very, very hard. It's been going on for at least six years."

Sharon announced in May that she had split with her husband after he was alleged to have been involved with celebrity hairstylist Michelle Pugh.

Ozzy later claimed their marriage was back on track, but Sharon said she remained uncertain whether she could trust him.

Sharon told The Sunday Times that Pugh was a "bunny boiler" and said: "When you're fucking a load of women, one of them is going to want more. That's the one that's going to get you."

Sharon also said her husband had been having intensive therapy for sex addiction.

She added: "He really wants to work on it. Today, we'll see."

Ozzy issued a statement earlier in the month in which he apologized to the women with whom he has had extramarital sexual relationships and admitted to undergoing therapy for sex addiction. Ozzy's statement came out in the wake of the first interview given by Pugh, who claimed to have had a four-year affair with the BLACK SABBATH singer.

Ozzy reportedly pursued Pugh for a year after she first colored his hair in late 2011.

Sharon reportedly learned of Ozzy's affair by having a private investigator look into his activities. A source told In Touch that Sharon "found out that Ozzy was spending a lot of money. She wanted to know what he was buying and who he was buying it for. The investigator discovered that he was basically living a double life."

Ozzy is in the midst of a year-long farewell tour with SABBATH.

OZZY OSBOURNE Is

OZZY OSBOURNE Is 'Playing Around With Some Song Ideas' For Next Solo Album

In a brand new interview with Metro, Ozzy Osbourne was asked for his plans for after BLACK SABBATH completes its "The End" tour in early 2017. He said: "I'm currently playing around with some song ideas. I have a few things jotted down, and once BLACK SABBATH is off the road, I will be heading into the studio with my band to get the songs recorded. Once it's all in the can, you can be sure to see me back on the road again."

Ozzy's wife and manager Sharon Osbourne recently told Rolling Stone that the 67-year-old singer will carry on as a solo artist after BLACK SABBATH's farewell tour comes to an end. "We'll continue until Ozzy finishes, and Ozzy won't be long behind them when he calls it a day," she said.

"It's not going to be within the next year, but it's coming up," she said. "I don't want Ozzy singing 'Crazy Train' at 75. I think it's best you go out before you hit that 70 and go out on top."

Ozzy told Billboard that he is not planning on hanging it up once SABBATH has retired from touring. "I just get on with it," he said. "I'm not stopping, Terry [BLACK SABBATH bassist Geezer Butler] is not stopping; we're just stopping SABBATH. We're not gonna sit in our rocking chairs and look at our scrapbook. We'll still be involved in the music scene; that's what we’ve always done. It's been the best thing that ever happened to me."

Ozzy told The Pulse Of Radio a while back that he wanted to keep performing for fans as long as he could. "I don't wanna stop, you know," he said. "It's been the biggest love affair of my life. When you reach a certain age in rock 'n' roll, people think, 'Well, this has got to be his last tour,' or 'This has got to be his last tour,' or 'You've got to come next Tuesday 'cause he ain't gonna do it after that.' You'll know when I've come off the road permanently. I mean, you'll know!"

Ozzy has not released an all-new solo album since 2010's "Scream", having spent the last few years touring with BLACK SABBATH and recording that band's "13" album.

Epic Records president Sylvia Rhone told Billboard in August 2015 that Osbourne was working on a "really special album." She added, "It's going to be amazing. It's something Ozzy has never done before that he's always wanted to do."

JEFF LOOMIS Thought He Landed OZZY OSBOURNE Guitarist Gig

JEFF LOOMIS Thought He Landed OZZY OSBOURNE Guitarist Gig

Former NEVERMORE and current ARCH ENEMY guitarist Jeff Loomis confirmed to Sweden Rock Magazine that he auditioned for MEGADETH for the first time when he was only 16 years old but was deemed too young and inexperienced at the time by MEGADETH leader Dave Mustaine. "I had another opportunity [to try out for MEGADETH] back in 2008," he revealed. "During the 2005 [edition of MEGADETH's] Gigantour [which featured NEVERMORE on the bill], Glen Drover was playing in the band and he didn't want to be in the band anymore. Around 2008 I believe it was when I was just entering the studio to record my very first solo record, when I got a phone call from Dave. He was, like, 'Jeff, it would be great if you could come out and play two live shows with us. We kinda need you. Glen can't make the shows.' I was, like, 'Man, Dave, I'm right in the middle of recording.' I literally just entered the studio and was about to track the first song of my first solo album. I said I just couldn't do it. Right there and then I kinda blew it. I mean, the next day I think they had another guitarist who was Chris Broderick. So, yeah, I had another opportunity, but it was my fault. I blew it and there you go — that was it! [laughs]

Asked if there were any other bands that he tried getting into over the years, Jeff said: "I auditioned for Ozzy Osbourne before Gus G. got the gig. I actually flew down to Los Angeles and played five songs for Ozzy and Sharon. I jammed with the band and Ozzy basically just watched from the couch with Sharon. He's, like, 'Fucking bloody fantastic guitar playing, man! That's fucking amazing!' Then Sharon came up to me and said, 'Jeff, how old are you?' I'm, like, 'I'm 38.' 'Oh, okay. Thank you.' Right then and there I kinda knew that they were looking for a younger guy. I thought for sure I had the gig, though, 'cause I nailed all the songs. A month later, I heard Gus G. got the gig, so I was a little bit upset about that. It would've been cool to have been Ozzy's last guitar player. That would've been kind of a legacy thing, but, unfortunately, I didn't get the gig."

Loomis came in at No. 61 on Sweden Rock Magazine's 100 greatest hard rock/metal guitarists of all time, as voted by the readers.

Jeff joined ARCH ENEMY in 2014 — three years after his exit from NEVERMORE.

22. Highway To Hell23. Riff Raff24. For Those About To Rock (We Salute You)

Video footage of the performance can be seen below.

The "Live Wire" airing marked the first time since 1982 that AC/DC performed the song, which originally appeared on the band's 1975 album "T.N.T.".

AC/DC guitarist and sole founding member Angus Young recently said that he has not made a decision yet regarding the band's future once the current "Rock Or Bust" tour cycle ends. Following the 2014 retirement of his brother and co-founder Malcolm Young due to dementia, Angus also dealt with the exit of drummer Phil Rudd later that year because of legal problems, and more recently the departure of singer Brian Johnson because of hearing loss and bassist Cliff Williams's decision to retire after the tour ends.

Angus was asked by Rolling Stone whether he had given any thought to his or the band's future, replying, "At this point, I don't know. We were committed to finishing the tour. Who knows what I'll feel after? When you sign on and say, 'I'm gonna do this and that,' it's always good to say at the end of it, 'I've done all I said I would do.'"

Asked if he thought Williams's decision was brought about by Johnson's departure, Angus said, "Cliff made it known before we'd even started touring — this would be his last. Besides myself, Cliff has been there the longest, since 1977. Cliff and Brian are in the same age bracket. They like to go out, hit the pubs. They had the bond."

Williams made his decision to retire public earlier this year, telling Gulfshore Life, "It's been what I've known for the past forty years, but losing Malcolm, the thing with Phil and now with Brian, it's a changed animal. I feel in my gut it's the right thing."

Williams told The Pulse Of Radio he never imagined back in his early days with the group that their career would last 40 years. "Didn't really think about it," he said. "Not that longterm thought process went into it. It was just doing it at the time and we were just on the road all the time and doing it and doing it and doing it, and it was just like, not really thinking that far ahead."

Assuming neither Rudd nor Johnson return, Williams's exit means that Angus will be the only member remaining from the lineups that recorded classic albums like 1979's "Highway To Hell", 1980's "Back In Black" and 1981's "For Those About To Rock...We Salute You".
