ONI Unleashes New Music Video For "Eternal Recurrence”; Ironshore Album Coming This FallSolidifying their position as a band to watch in 2016, rising progressive metal band Oni saw their breakout moment earlier this year with the release of their blistering new track, "Eternal Recurrence". Showcasing the band's ability to meld chaotic progressive time signatures with blazing solos and heavy grooves (with the unique inclusion of "xylo-synth"), "Eternal Recurrence" soars as the band's first of several planned singles cut from their upcoming full-length album, Ironshore, scheduled to hit stores this fall.
Today marks the release of the band's new music video for "Eternal Recurrence". Directed by Abraham Roofeh and filmed in vocalist Jake Oni's home locale of the Cayman Islands, the video depicts a man running from a mysterious masked assailant - but is this assailant really a stranger? Watch the video below.
Oni frontman Jake Oni states, "It was a pleasure filming the video in the Cayman Islands. It's very convenient working from home, although the performance was brutal at times. When the guys and myself were done filming, we couldn't even walk the next day! After headbanging for what felt like an eternity, there was nothing better than laying on the ground!
“When we first saw the treatment for the video, it was hard to imagine how it would turn out, however it exceeded all of our expectations. The sunny island felt more dystopian than anything else and our director captured the meaning of the song and the look of the band perfectly. Overall, it was a blast to work on and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!"
Formed in 2014, Oni mastermind Jake Oni's initial vision for the band was "to be the band he never got to see". One that was deeply rooted in progressive metal but that had a feel all of its own, one that would rise above a genre that continues to churn out new groups with a similar sound. Oni's sound comfortably situates them among the genre's heavy hitters, demonstrating spastic technicality and fast-paced verses like Protest The Hero and Arsis, with melodic progressive hooks echoing Between The Buried in Me. But while those artists are still positioned on one end of the metal spectrum, Oni digs even deeper with resonating groove-oriented guitars and mathematic rhythm patterns resembling artists like Lamb Of God and Gojira.
The band's upcoming new album, Ironshore, is packed full of contrasts and contradictions, grace and violence, and with the band disinterested in churning out endless soundalikes, each has a distinct character of its own - or more accurately characters of its own, since they refuse to limit themselves to a single mood or tone.
With Jake Oni handling vocal duties, Martin Andres and Brandon White on guitar, Chase Bryant on bass and Joe Greulich on drums, they are also perhaps the first metal band to feature a xylo-synth player, in the form of Johnny D, which adds an interesting and intriguing dynamic.
Stay tuned for much more coming from Oni in anticipation of their upcoming album release this fall.

TESLA To Release Mechanical Resonance, Live! Album In August; Includes “Save That Goodness” Single Written / Produced By DEF LEPPARD's Phil CollenIt’s been said that lightning never strikes the same place twice. However, it does in the case of Tesla. The band has announced the release of a live recording of their classic album, Mechanical Resonance, Live!, celebrating the original multi-Platinum record’s 30th birthday in style.
With a few surprises up their sleeve, including the single “Save That Goodness” written and produced by Phil Collen of Def Leppard, the album will be released in Europe on August 26th. The record is being released in conjunction with Tesla’s US summer tour opening up for Def Leppard, where they will perform in front of over half a million fans.
Said Frank Hannon, “30 years later and the songs on our first album still rock! Making this new live album of Mechanical Resonance was a reminder of the innocence and creative beginnings of Tesla.”
Added Brian Wheat, "It was a lot of fun to re-visit some of the songs we hadn't played in decades and had a great time recording it. "
Over the course of their thirty-year career, which started in 1986, the iconic Sacramento melodic hard rock quintet - Frank Hannon [guitar], Brian Wheat [bass], Jeff Keith [lead vocals], Troy Luccketta [drums], and Dave Rude [guitar] - has sold more than 25 million albums worldwide and played to sold out crowds across the globe, their three albums that followed Mechanical Resonance all went multi-Platinum in the US. To say Tesla live is absolutely bombastic is an understatement, they are a hard rock band to beat all hard rock bands.
The 21st century has become something of a renaissance for Tesla. Most recently, 2014’s Simplicity bowed at #14 on the Billboard Top 200. The group ignited ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! in addition to scorching stages at festivals such as Rocklahoma, Graspop Metal Meeting, and Sweden Rock Festival as well as the cruise Monsters of Rock. As they prepare to cut their ninth full-length album with Phil Collen in the producer’s chair, Tesla takes another monumental leap forward as they glance back on Mechanical Resonance, Live!

As previously reported, SLAYER will join forces with special guests ANTHRAX and DEATH ANGEL this fall for a seven-week North American beat down. The dates start in Cleveland on September 9 and will hit both major and secondary markets across the continent.
Said SLAYER's Kerry King: "It's always super fun for us to tour with ANTHRAX. Frank [Bello] is one of my best friends in the biz!! Put that together with DEATH ANGEL, and fans will probably see the best package this year. See you there!"
Fans will hear their favorite SLAYER songs from the band's 30-plus-year discography, as well as a few of the newer songs from "Repentless", named "The Metal Album of the Year" by Guitar World. SLAYER and ANTHRAX stormed through Europe together last fall, amassing a string of sensational live reviews, so North American fans, this will be a night of metal music that should not be missed.

Video Premiere: ROB ZOMBIE's 'Medication For The Melancholy'Rob Zombie's video for the song "Medication For The Melancholy" can be seen below. The track is taken from his latest album, "The Electric Warlock Acid Witch Satanic Orgy Celebration Dispenser", which debuted at No. 6 on The Billboard 200, having shifted 41,000 equivalent album units in the week ending May 5. It's the sixth solo Top 10 album for Zombie.
"The Electric Warlock Acid Witch Satanic Orgy Celebration Dispenser" was released on April 29 via UMe/T-Boy Records.
Regarding his decision to keep the new album and songs short, Rob told Rolling Stone magazine: "Whenever I go through records that I love and I listen to over and over and over, I go, 'Man, this record's short. That's why I loved it so much.' It's, like, thirty minutes, so I've listened to it nine thousand times, whereas you have other records where you go, 'Yeah, I know that record's great, but it's, like, seventy-five minutes long, or the tracks are, like, six minutes long.' Like, I'd go back and look at BEATLES records and go, like, 'These songs are like a minute-and-a-half long. They don't feel a minute-and-a-half long.' Even when… Later, on 'Magical Mystery Tour', I used to think, 'Oh, well, these songs are much longer.' But they're not really; they're still short songs, but they seem epic. I love long songs, but if you're gonna write a song that long, it's better be 'Freebird' or 'Stairway To Heaven' or something. It'd better be worth my time."
"The Electric Warlock Acid Witch Satanic Orgy Celebration Dispenser" was produced by Chris "Zeuss" Harris and features Zombie alongside guitarist John 5, bassist Piggy D and drummer Ginger Fish. 6

Watch Pro-Shot Footage Of TARJA TURUNEN Performing With WITHIN TEMPTATION At France's HELLFESTFormer NIGHTWISH singer Tarja Turunen joined Dutch symphonic rockers WITHIN TEMPTATION on stage on June 18 at Hellfest in Clisson, France to perform the song "Paradise (What About Us?)". Professionally filmed video footage of her appearance — preceded by the WITHIN TEMPTATION song "Mother Earth" — can be seen below.
The studio version of "Paradise (What About Us?)" — also featuring Tarja — can be found on WITHIN TEMPTATION's sixth studio album, "Hydra", which came out in January 2014.
WITHIN TEMPTATION frontwoman Sharon Den Adel previously stated about the band's collaboration with Turunen: "When we had written the first version of 'Paradise' and listened back to the demo we'd recorded and the epic power of the song, we thought of Tarja instantly. How well this track would fit her classical voice and how extra special it would be if we sang it together. The more we thought about this wild idea, the more excited we got about it!"
Following several video trailers teasing the track, fans speculated on the band's Facebook page who the duet would be with, some guessing it couldn't possibly be a "competing" artist like Tarja. However, the two singers had no hesitation joining forces, having never thought of themselves as competitors. Sharon continued: "Of course I didn't know what to expect from Tarja, as we'd never actually met in person 'till June [of 2013]. Our first encounter was via a Skype call we'd set-up to discuss the collaboration and we immediately clicked, not only creatively but personally. After we'd spoken, it felt completely natural that we would do this together!"
Tarja added: "It was very nice to finally meet Sharon and the WITHIN TEMPTATION guys. I truly appreciate the invitation and the opportunity to work with them on their song 'Paradise'. So wonderful that they thought of me! I hope our fans will like this 'girl power' duet!"
The song and accompanying music video share a central theme; that only constructive cooperation can lead to creation. To establish a new paradise, rising from the ashes of the old, we must work together. 3

BENEA REACH - “Woodland” Music Video From Rage: Midsummer’s Eve Horror Film StreamingAn old pagan holiday, Midsummer's Eve, is just around the corner and here is Benea Reach's music video for their “Woodland” single. The single starred as the ending credit song for American horror feature, Rage: Midsummer's Eve, set in the Finnish Arctic Circle during the Midsummer's festival.
Midsummer, also known as St John's Day, is centred around the Summer Solstice. European midsummer-related holidays, traditions, and celebrations are pagan and pre-Christian in origin. They are particularly important in Northern Europe - Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania – but are also very strongly observed in Poland, Russia, Belarus, Germany, Netherlands, Ireland, parts of the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Malta, Portugal, Spain, Ukraine, other parts of Europe, and elsewhere - such as Canada, the United States, Puerto Rico, and also in the Southern Hemisphere (mostly in Brazil, Argentina and Australia).
In Wicca culture, practitioners celebrate on the longest day and shortest night of the year which has not had a set date since the retirement of the 13-month Celtic calendar.
Benea Reach was an extreme metalcore/mathcore band from Oslo, Norway. The band was nominated for a Spellemannsprisen Award in the metal category. “Woodland” can be found as an opening track on Benea Reach's last studio album, Possession (Spinefarm Records / Universal Music Group, 2013).
The music video for “Woodland” is directed by Rage: Midsummer's Eve director, Ms. Tii Ricks and produced by her production company La Brea Pictures (USA).
Rage: Midsummer's Eve was released in Scandinavia and also in the US with a limited theatrical release and on VOD on Midsummer's Eve 2015. It will have its worldwide VOD, as well as special edition DVD and Blu-Ray release during 2016. The film stars English actors Michael Vardian, Johnny Sachon and Holly Georgia, as well as Finnish actors Greta Mandelin and Christian Sandstrom (Farewell).

DEF LEPPARD Debuts Video For New Single 'Man Enough'DEF LEPPARD's Frank Gryner-directed video for the song "Man Enough" can be seen below. The single just cracked the Top 10 on the Classic Rock chart and is the third track off the band's latest, self-titled studio album.
DEF LEPPARD guitarist Phil Collen told TeamRock about "Man Enough": "I had this bass riff floating around my head, and I wanted it to have a similar vibe to 'Billy Jean' by Michael Jackson — almost a disco vibe. I didn't know what it was going to be called, then I played it to Joe [Elliott, vocals]; we went to [drummer] Rick Allen's 50th birthday, and he said, 'Shit! I've got a great idea for this song! And it's called 'Are You Man Enough To Be My Girl'. People have said it reminds them of 'Another One Bites The Dust' by QUEEN. It has this dancey appeal. Our song 'All Night' was a bit like that, and 'Excitable' on 'Hysteria'. But I think this is the first time we've really made it work. It just fell into place, and I think that's because we didn’t restrict ourselves. Every song on the album's like that. It was, like, 'Fuck everybody. This album was done for us.' It wasn't a business venture. We really didn't care what anybody thought. We went to town on it; it was a lot of fun."
"Def Leppard" was recorded in early 2015 at Elliott's studio in Dublin, Ireland. The disc marked the group's first new collection of material in seven years and eleventh official studio release. The album debuted in the Top 5 on Billboard's Top 200 chart in the U.S. and went Top 10 in 25 countries, including a #1 in Japan. The band's previous two singles off of their new album, "Let's Go" and "Dangerous", also went to #1 on the Classic Radio chart. DEF LEPPARD's highly anticipated U.S. summer tour kicks off in Boston, Massachusetts at the Xfinity Center on June 22 and wraps up in Cedar Rapids, Iowa at the U.S. Cellular Center on October 10. The Live Nation-promoted outing will storm through cities across all parts of the U.S. and Canada. 12

DELAIN To Release 'Moonbathers' Album In AugustDutch symphonic metallers DELAIN will release their fifth studio album, titled "Moonbathers", on August 26 via Napalm Records.
Comments DELAIN: "We have never had so many milestone events in one year. The release of our EP, 'Lunar Prelude', our fifth studio album, 'Moonbathers', our upcoming 10-year anniversary celebrations and live registration, and there is still more to come. All of this while playing our most heavy touring year ever. We are on a roll, and our new album, 'Moonbathers', is here to embody that. We hope you will enjoy this new effort and join us on our endeavors making 2016 the biggest year for DELAIN ever!"
"Moonbathers", mastered by Grammy Award winner Ted Jensen, will satiate your hunger for the symphonic greatness, catchy hooks and a solid dose of metal that the band is known for. It showcases DELAIN from both their most extravagant and sensitive sides as they explore all things nocturnal through an especially varied set of tracks, including a surprising cover of classic rock legends QUEEN as well as a reappearance of Alissa White-Gluz (ARCH ENEMY) as a special guest on opening track "Hands Of Gold".
The visual counterpart comes courtesy of longtime collaborator and neo-Victorian romantic Glenn Arthur.
DELAIN singer Charlotte Wessels told Xpress Radio about the songwriting process for "Moonbathers": "For this new album, we cut up… Normally, you would like to take a few months to go into writing mode, to go into recording mode, and then go and put it all together. But we never really had the time for that this year. We kind of did a few writing blocks and a few recording blocks and a few production blocks. I really like the way that has allowed us to keep touring and to not take a break on anything else we were doing. On the other hand, I do also like the feeling of really immersing yourself in that creative process, and for my taste, we've been having to move on very soon. It's not really saying that one is better than the other, but everything comes with a price. And last time we were really, really busy touring, and I wouldn't have done anything else, but you do notice that for everything that you want to do, there's something else that you cannot do. So now we solved that challenge by kind of cutting up that whole production of the new album in different blocks. And I think it was a creative solution that worked."
Regarding the musical direction of the new DELAIN material, Charlotte said: "Listening to the album now, I think that in the style of the songs, it really goes in… It's more varied than our… Like, the production is a lot like our last album, because we really like the mix and we really like the master, so we chose to handle some of those the same, with the same people. But at the same time, if you listen to the songs… For example, on the last album, there wasn't like a real 'ballad ballad,' and there is on this record, but also it has probably some of the loudest tracks. Amd then there is like a really uptempo rock kind of track. There's really a lot of different stuff there, but the overall feel is really dramatic, and I like that. There's not one particular thing that I can pinpoint as being different, but I think in a way that the album is kind of going from one end of the style spectrum to another on this record, I think that's pretty interesting."
"Moonbathers" track listing:

As previously reported, DELAIN will celebrate its tenth anniversary with a special show in Amsterdam on December 10 that will also be recorded and filmed for a release on CD, DVD and Blu-ray.
DELAIN released a new EP, "Lunar Prelude", on February 19 via Napalm Records. Mastered by Grammy Award-winning engineer Ted Jensen, the set offered two brand new songs in the shape of the catchy "Suckerpunch" and the melancholic "Turn The Lights Out". "Don't Let Go" (taken from 2014's "The Human Contradiction") came in a brand new version, while the EP also contained four live cuts, as well as an orchestral reprise of "Suckerpunch".
DELAIN recently announced the addition of guitarist Merel Bechtold to the group's ranks. 3

PHILIP ANSELMO's SUPERJOINT Reveals New Album TitleFormer PANTERA and current DOWN frontman Philip Anselmo's SUPERJOINT RITUAL project — now known simply as SUPERJOINT for legal reasons — has set "Caught Up In The Gears Of Application" as the title of its new album, due later in the year through Anselmo's Housecore record label. The disc was apparently recorded at Philip's New Orleans-area studio, Nodferatu's Lair.
SUPERJOINT's current lineup includes guitarists Kevin Bond (CHRIST INVERSION, ARTIMUS PYLEDRIVER) and Jimmy Bower (DOWN, EYEHATEGOD), drummer José Manuel Gonzalez (WARBEAST, PHILIP H. ANSELMO & THE ILLEGALS) and bassist Stephen Taylor (PHILIP H. ANSELMO & THE ILLEGALS, WOVEN HAND, 16 HORSE POWER).
According to Anselmo, the direction of SUPERJOINT's new material is very similar to that one the band's first two albums, 2002's "Use Once And Destroy" and 2003's "A Lethal Dose Of American Hatred". "It won't sound any different, because myself, Jimmy and Kevin have always been the main writers in SUPERJOINT anyway, so, really — for the most part, really, me and Jimmy. So it shouldn't sound much different at all," he told Full Metal Jackie back in July 2015.
In a separate interview with the Phoenix New Times, Anselmo was asked why he feels that SUPERJOINT's current live shows are so much better than those that he played with the band more than a decade ago when the group was known as SUPERJOINT RITUAL. He responded: "So-briety! [Laughs] Simply put. Sobriety."
He continued: "You know, originally we were plugging along with SUPERJOINT, truth is, and I'm not a bit embarrassed or ashamed to admit it at all, I really don't remember much about SUPERJOINT from back then except for little pieces. I was fucked up out of my fucking mind on heavy drugs … and the overindulgence of booze. These days, don't get me wrong, I like my suds and I like a bit of the white grape…. But I think every damn one of us has a much clearer mind. A much more stable support system within that realm. And we're all veterans now, man. We've been through the lowest of times together, and this group of people — specifically, Jimmy Bower and Kevin Bond — when it was time to say 'fuck this road to destruction,' we all kind of did that together. We all came off of heavy drugs at the same time. So I think there's this strength with knowledge there about what not to do. So really it just happened from our clear minds and fresh blood there. It's a positive thing. It feels like it's fun again, and isn't that the point? If you're going to make music and you're having fun while you're doing it, nothing in this world cane deter from that."
Anselmo also talked about how SUPERJOINT approaches its live performances. He said: "I would just say, as far as energy goes, we know from being in the scene for 20, 30 years that we don't have to get up there and jump around and dance around for the kids anymore. All we need to do is throw our amps and drums up on stage… And play the music as tight as possible with no bullshit, man. Just lay it on them." 4

GOJIRA's MARIO DUPLANTIER On 'Magma' Album: 'We Wanted To Change The Dynamic'Roadrunner Records U.K. has uploaded a new interview with drummer Mario Duplantier of French progressive metallers GOJIRA about the band's new album, "Magma". You can now watch the chat in two parts below.
Speaking about the songwriting process for "Magma", Mario said: "When we are able to be all together in the same room, it's so cool.
"We are used to touring a lot and we're always in the bus, surrounded by the crew, and we are a bunch of guys, so it's very hard to sometimes have a clear idea of what we want to do. So just to be the four of us together, or sometimes just my brother and I, it's a very rich experience.
"The dynamic of the album, the tempo of the album, and I wanted also personally to get rid of… just keep the core of our music, keep the essential. And I wanted a good riff, a good chorus maybe, a good bridge, a good ending, but not go too crazy on atmosphere, because we did in the past, on our previous albums, we did a lot of epic atmosphere. And this time, we just felt all together that we wanted something straight to the point more. We wanted to change the dynamic. And also, to talk about the mood, for me, my brother and the rest of the guys, it's super easy to make dark music. Beause when we do spontaneously something, it's always dark — very dark. And we work on the colors of the album, and we wanted to bring a new mood also, because we are not only dark and we love when you can feel power, energy, joy, and positive energy. I know that we had some very dark songs we decided to put… not on the trash, but not to put on the album. Because we wanted also a mood that fit with our personality today and also the mood that will follow us on the road for two or three years. It's very important. The album you make will follow you for two or three years. So, for example, the songs 'Stranded' and 'Silvera' have a very dynamic mood. It's not depressed. And compared to 'L'Enfant Sauvage', [which] had some depressed vibe sometimes, we wanted something fresh and new."
"Magma" was released on June 17 via Roadrunner Records. The follow-up to 2012's "L'Enfant Sauvage" was recorded at GOJIRA frontman Joseph Duplantier's Silver Cord Studio in Queens, New York. 12

BUDGIE - Time To Remember Book Out NowA new book on influential Welsh rockers Budgie covers the period from 1980, when new guitarist John Thomas would prove to be just the tonic needed to launch the band into the ’80s.
Thomas, who passed away in March this year, recorded three albums with Budgie in the early 1980s – Power Supply, Nightflight and Deliver Us From Evil. The book, Time To Remember: Budgie’s Heavy Revolution 1980–2010, covers these three albums and three Reading Festival appearances, culminating in a headline show in ’82.
Budgie would also venture behind the Iron Curtain, visiting Poland in ’82 for a triumphant tour of sold-out stadiums, two years before Iron Maiden’s much-heralded visit. Forty of photographer Justin Thomas’s previously unseen photos of Budgie’s Polish tour are included in the book, which includes more than 750 images across 430 pages.
Budgie took a break in 1988, but returned in style to play before a huge San Antonio audience in 1995 – the music kept alive by Texas radio and Metallica’s covers of “Breadfan” and “Crash Course In Brain Surgery”.
Budgie remained active during the 1990s and 2000s, touring in the UK, Europe, the States and Australia, and releasing another studio album. The band last played live in 2010, when bandleader Burke Shelley would undergo emergency surgery for an aortic aneurysm.
The book features contributions from band members, roadies, promoters and photographers, including extensive interviews with John Thomas in the months leading up to his untimely passing.
The new book, the third in a trilogy of books about Budgie, can be ordered online here.

Vocalist Lei, who oversaw production on the disc, adds, “We tracked some killer stuff with David in Phoenix, and really fine tuned all the details in Denver with Ahrue, and a great team there. Thankfully we’re in a city with some amazing studios, and some amazing World class talent, which allowed us to make a killer record right in our own backyard.”
Introduced to Ellefson via their management, THC Music’s Thom Hazaert, who now runs Ellefson’s EMP label, the pairing almost immediately spawned a great working relationship.

"When I first started working with Arise in Chaos on this record, the first song we worked on was 'The Divine', and I immediately knew there was something special there, and through that process we’re so excited they ended up on EMP.” He adds, “Now listening to the final product, seeing the video, seeing it all come together, I know these guys are going to make huge waves in the metal community.”

BRIAN 'HEAD' WELCH: 'I Would Definitely Describe The New KORN Music As Intense'Roxy Myzal of HardDrive Radio recently conducted an interview with KORN guitarist Brian "Head" Welch. You can now watch the chat below.
Speaking about KORN's upcoming album, Welch said: "I would definitely describe the new KORN music as intense. I was telling someone earlier that we wrote this record thinking about what KORN was when we first started.
"I think we've learned how to write songs; we can write good songs a lot. But what is KORN?
"We started this band thinking of the live shows and what the crowd would do with us. How can we connect with the crowd? And we would write songs thinking like that. So this new record, it was all about, what's gonna happen when we play this song? What's gonna happen when we play this riff? And that's the new record. It's just intense and it's all… Every song, I think, is a live song. And so it's gonna be hard to choose which ones we play live, because that's how the whole record's written. And Jonathan [Davis, KORN singer] just… He always digs deep and shares painful stuff, but I feel like he grabbed his soul and ripped it open for this record again, like he used to do, and people are gonna feel that."
KORN's twelfth studio album is tentatively due out later this year.
Welch said in another interview that the material KORN has written for its next LP is "heavier than anyone's heard KORN in a long time."
KORN recently announced details for the "Nocturnal Underground Tour" where they will share co-headlining duties with BREAKING BENJAMIN and will be joined by special guests MOTIONLESS IN WHITE and SILVER SNAKES.
The "Nocturnal Underground" arena tour will kick off on September 24 at Scheels Arena in Fargo, North Dakota, taking KORN deep into the heart of America through late October. On this trek, the band will pass through such markets as Omaha, Cedar Rapids, Charlotte, Biloxi, Tampa, Jacksonville, Tulsa and beyond. In between, KORN will appear at the Louder Than Life festival in Louisville, Kentucky on October 2. 7

NEUROSIS To Release 'Fires Within Fires' Album In SeptemberLong-running Oakland, California-based industrial/alternative/metal pioneers NEUROSIS will release their eleventh full-length album, "Fires Within Fires", on September 23 via the band's own Neurot Recordings. The follow-up to 2012's "Honor Found In Decay" was recorded at Electrical Audio Studio with producer Steve Albini. In the meantime, NEUROSIS has announced a dozen new live performances across Europe in August, where they will be joined on select dates by Latvia's fascinating experimental trio TESA. For a list of dates, go to this location.
A year ago, NEUROSIS's Scott Kelly spoke about the band's plans for its next studio CD. He said: "We're going to try to get a new record out quicker than the last one. The last one took five years to get out because of, you know, basically, because of personal shit that came up and interrupted the process. We're hoping to turn one around in a more reasonable time and just keep gigging."
"Honor Found In Decay" sold around 1,800 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD landed at position No. 9 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.
"Honor Found In Decay" was released in North America in October 2012 through Neurot Recordings. 6

DELTA DEEP Feat. DEF LEPPARD, STONE TEMPLE PILOTS Members: Video Of RIVERBEND FESTIVAL ConcertDELTA DEEP, the critically acclaimed blues-based band featuring Phil Collen (lead guitarist of DEF LEPPARD) and Robert DeLeo (bassist for STONE TEMPLE PILOTS), in addition to Debbi Blackwell-Cook (back-up vocalist for such artists as Michael Bublé and Gregory Hines) and Forrest Robinson (drummer for India.Arie, Joe Sample & THE CRUSADERS, TLC), performed at this year's prestigious Riverbend Festival in Chattanooga, Tennessee this past Saturday, June 18. Video footage of the group's set can be seen below.
The Los Angeles-based DELTA DEEP is set to continue its 2016 "Sugar Shack" tour with a hometown show at the Skyloft in Laguna Beach, California on September 12. The band will be touring in support of its soon-to-be-released live album "Delta Deep West Coast Live", featuring songs recorded during the inaugural January "Sugar Shack" California West Coast run.
Collen initially started DELTA DEEP in 2012 after jamming at home over the course of a year with friend and relative Debbi Blackwell-Cook (Blackwell-Cook is the godmother of Collen's wife, Helen). What started as a casual pairing singing Motown and classic blues staples while Debbi frequently visited Collen's home quickly turned into much more. Collen, Helen and Debbi began writing original music which Collen and Debbi recorded in Collen's home studio. Later that year, a chance meeting re-acquainted Collen with Memphis native and enigmatic heavy metal, jazz, and R&B drummer Forrest Robinson. A friend suggested giving STP bassist Robert DeLeo a call. Sharing a loving affinity for soul, funk and the blues, DeLeo was the perfect fit. According to Collen: "We really wanted Robert in this band. He had the added firepower of being the premiere pioneer and most 'badass bass player' to come out of the alternative rock explosion."

Watch VINCE NEIL Perform MÖTLEY CRÜE Classics In Pompano Beach, FloridaFan-filmed video footage of MÖTLEY CRÜE singer Vince Neil performing with his solo band on June 18 at Pompano Beach Amphitheater in Pompano Beach, Florida can be seen in the YouTube playlist below.
In a recent interview with Palm Springs Life, Neil was asked how he "still hits those higher registers" after all these years and what he does to keep his voice in shape. He responded: "I have an old road singer/saloon singer mentality. I love performing; that's what I do. I'm thrilled to be there, and I've done it so much. Younger, up-and-coming singers will say, 'Hey, Mr. Neil, what do you do?' And I say, 'Don't do what I do, for God's sake!' I go in a bathroom, and [yells], 'Hey! Heyyyyy!!!' I scream. Even the guys in [my solo] band go, 'What the fuck?' I do the worst thing you probably should, but it works for me. Everybody has a thing that works for them — but what I do for myself, I wouldn't suggest.
He continued: "It's been bulletproof over the years. Everybody gets sick sometimes and gets laryngitis, but I've been pretty lucky, especially in that higher-register stuff. And we don't back away from it. It's exactly where all the original tunings were. I understand a lot of people don't want to do that, but if someone calls something out, I go, Fuck it! Let's do it!'"
Neil also spoke about MÖTLEY CRÜE's legacy, six months after the band played its last-ever concert. He said: "It's forever. 'The End', the movie of the final show, is coming out in the theater [on June 14], and there's also going to be the movie 'The Dirt' [based on the band's 2001 best-selling, warts-and-all group autobiography]. I see it in the reaction to the songs, you know? I could be walking into a place just picking up a prescription or something, and somebody's got an old MÖTLEY shirt on."
He added: "I'm proud to be that guy. I've never run from who I am, and the legacy is not only going to continue, it's continuing as we speak here. Like I said, I'm thankful for the support, and I'm thankful for the love. And I'm very thankful for the people helping to keep this music alive. Without people like you, it wouldn't have the legs that it has.
"Listen, I love the stuff. I proudly call [my solo] tour 'The Legacy Continues'. You have to live every day like it could be your last, but I also plan on doing some great things ahead. I am who I am in my own skin, and I'm okay with it."
Neil's solo live backing band continues to consist of bassist Dana Strum and Jeff Blando (both of SLAUGHTER) and drummer Zoltan Chaney.

STEVEN TYLER Says AEROSMITH's 'Farewell' Tour Will Launch In 2017During a live call-in interview on "The Howard Stern Show" on SiriusXM satellite radio earlier today (Tuesday, June 21), AEROSMITH frontman Steven Tyler revealed that the band will embark on a farewell tour in 2017. Tyler, who will release his first-ever solo album, "We're All Somebody From Somewhere", on July 15, added the caveat that the tour will probably last "forever."
While on hiatus, the members of AEROSMITH have been keeping busy with solo projects — guitarist Joe Perry recently hit the road with his star-studded side project HOLLYWOOD VAMPIRES, featuring Alice Cooper, Johnny Depp, former GUNS N' ROSES drummer Matt Sorum, and STONE TEMPLE PILOTS bassist Robert DeLeo. AEROSMITH guitarist Brad Whitford has joined forces once again with Derek St. Holmes for a 19-date spring and summer run.
Perry in April spoke frankly about the state of AEROSMITH, admitting to Rolling Stone: "A farewell tour is something we've talked about doing for years, let's say roughly in the last five years. It's just something the band's talked about at various times."
Perry also talked about the band gravitating towards working on their own in 2016. He said: "It's very rare you get this much time, considering the way we've always been on the road or been in the studio doing whatever, so it's been a good time to do some of these other projects. Steven has been off working really hard on his solo thing. I know it's something he's always wanted to do. He puts so much into AEROSMITH, he's never really given himself the time to do this, so it's worked out really well for him. I don't really hear from him much but I wouldn't expect that I would considering he's working on a record and doing gigs and the whole thing. But when things start gearing up, we start rehearsing for the South American tour, I'm sure we'll start forming a plan for the next year or two or whatever."
Perry said that although AEROSMITH splitting isn't something he's looking forward to, he feels that the band is nearing the end. "It's getting to be about that time, but I'm really looking forward to the VAMPIRES thing," he said. "And I know Brad's doing stuff with Derek and they're buddies from way back. Everybody's got stuff that they're doing, so it's kind of up the middle. It's inevitable that once we get back together I'll be ready to play 'Dream On' again."
The guitarist told The Pulse Of Radio that ultimately, the thrill of what AEROSMITH accomplished musically trumps all the problems that the band has endured due to drugs, women, management and ego issues. "It's really the five of us, y'know, as a band," he said. "And it's still exciting to walk out onstage with these guys. And that, I think, is the glue that keeps us coming back. Sometimes I ask that question myself, y'know, 'Why am I still doin' it?' Well, when I walk out onstage in Moscow and everybody out there is singing words to songs that we wrote in the basement, or, y'know, in some studio somewhere. It's nothin' short of a miracle, y'know? And so we kind of have a lot of respect for that." 2

Video: BOBBY BLOTZER's RATT Performs In Springfield, MassachusettsFan-filmed video footage of Bobby Blotzer's new RATT performing on June 18 at the MassMutual Center in Springfield, Massachusetts as part of the "Rock The Arena" event can be seen below. Also appearing on the bill were Bret Michaels, Lita Ford, WARRANT and TRIXTER.
Blotzer's RATT recently parted ways with bassist Scotty Griffin (ex-L.A. GUNS) and replaced him with Robbie Crane.
Crane previously played bass for RATT from 1996 to 2012 and appeared on the band's 1999 self-titled album and 2010's "Infestation".
Said Blotzer in a statement: "Adding Robbie Crane back is naturally just like slipping into an old missed pair of spandex."
Blotzer announced last September that he was taking control of the RATT name and hitting the road with a new version of the group, which played shows earlier that year under the name BOBBY BLOTZER'S RATT EXPERIENCE.
RATT guitarist Warren DeMartini later filed a lawsuit against Blotzer, claiming that the drummer was falsely advertising his "tribute band" as the real thing.
Blotzer's revamped RATT is rounded out by vocalist Josh Alan (ex-SIN CITY SINNERS) and guitarists Doc Ellis (Jizzy Pearl's LOVE/HATE) and Nicholas "Blaze" Baum.
WBS, Inc., the company which manages the business and operations related to RATT, was originally formed by Blotzer, DeMartini and singer Stephen Pearcy. Pearcy lost his share of the name in court after splitting with the group in 2000. He returned to the band in 2006 but exited again in 2014. Blotzer has since expressed his desire to keep RATT alive with a new singer, but explained that DeMartini did not want to tour as RATT without Pearcy.

TESLA – 25th Anniversary 2LP Release Of Psychotic Supper Due In JulyTesla’s third album, Psychotic Supper, the band’s third studio album, released on August 30th, 1991, was the follow-up to the live Five Man Acoustical Jam, peaking at #13 on the Billboard 200, featuring an aggressive change in direction from the previous disc, landing an impressive five songs on the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart, including “What You Give,” which went to #7 and even cracked the Billboard Hot 100 at #86. Other memorable songs include “Edison’s Medicine,” which spotlights how its subject received credit for harnessing electricity over the band’s own namesake, Nikola Tesla, which climbed to #20 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks, along with “Call It What You Want” (#19), “Song & Emotion” (#13) and “Stir It Up” (#35). Produced by Michael Barbiero (Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Anthrax) – who also helmed the band’s first two studio efforts -- the album was eventually certified platinum in 1993 by the RIAA, and was included in German magazine Rock Hard’s book of “The 500 Greatest Rock & Metal Albums of All Time.” The band themselves have been quoted as considering Psychotic Supper their best record.
To help mark the album’s 25th anniversary in August, UMe is reissuing the album for the first time as a 2LP standard issue vinyl set on July 22nd.
Tesla was formed in Sacramento in late 1981 by bassist Brian Wheat and Frank Hannon, with lead vocalist Jeff Keith, drummer Troy Luccketta and guitarist Tommy Skeoch joining them by 1984, settling on the name Tesla two years later. Their debut album, Mechanical Resonance, came out in 1986, with many of the band’s themes and song titles inspired by the electrical engineer who gave them their name. In the early days of their career, the band toured extensively, opening for David Lee Roth, Alice Cooper, Def Leppard and Poison.
And while their first two albums, Mechanical Resonance and 1989’s The Great Radio Controversy, both charted on the Billboard 200, 1990’s live Five Man Acoustical Jam, proved a breakthrough, peaking at #12, producing the Top 10 Billboard Hot 100 single “Signs,” a cover of the 1971 song by the Five Man Electrical Band.
On Psychotic Supper, the band largely eschewed the live album’s acoustic bent and let loose with a stripped-down production that enhanced the band’s bluesy take on rock and roll. “Edison’s Medicine” is highlighted by Jeff Keith’s frenetic, yet soulful vocals and some scorching guitar solos by Tommy Skeoch and Frank Hannon. Skeoch also rocks out on theremin, while Hannon straps on a bass for a memorable solo. 25 years after its release, Psychotic Supper still holds up for its impressive musicianship by the band and its mix of hard rock and anthemic ballads.
