FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH 'Postpones' Paris Concert In Wake Of Terrorist AttacksIn the wake of the November 13 terrorist attacks in Paris and continued terrorist threats against France and Europe, American metallers FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH have decided to "postpone" their November 24 concert at the Olympia in Paris, France. The band says in a statement: "We are still on tour in Europe, and we are evaluating each show day by day. A lot of work and analysis goes into each decision."
The statement continues: "Since the events in Paris last week, the situation is still very chaotic — a lot of misinformation — and a lot uncertainty in some places. But the most important factor is the safety of the fans which we are not willing to compromise. As a result, for now we will have to postpone the Paris show. Please stay tuned for more info."
FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH canceled a show in Milan, Italy on Sunday (November 22) amidst rumors that the Islamic State (ISIS) was planning to attack the show as part of a series of multiple attacks spread across several countries.
The hacktivist group Anonymous claimed to have uncovered plots by ISIS for several terrorist attacks to occur on Sunday, including at a pro wrestling event in Atlanta and other locations in Paris, Rome, Lebanon and Indonesia, in addition to the concert in Milan.
The rumors of the attacks came a week after a deadly terrorist attack at seven locations in Paris, including an EAGLES OF DEATH METAL concert where 89 people were killed.
The hacktivists said the information about the fresh attacks was received from "several pro-(ISIS) accounts."
A number of artists halted their European treks in the wake of the Paris attacks, including FOO FIGHTERS, DEFTONES and others.

TOOL's ADAM JONES On Next Album: 'We Probably Have 20 Potential Song Ideas Now'TOOL guitarist Adam Jones spoke to Rolling Stone about the progress of the songwriting sessions for the band's long-awaited follow-up to 2006's "10,000 Days" album. He said: "I'll tell you, it's wonderful. Things are really flowing and going really well, and I'm just blown away at the stuff that's coming together. I'm excited and can't wait for it to be done. It's something I've been missing for a long time [laughs], that beautiful collaboration that we have because we're all so different and have different tastes. But again, when you are all meeting in the middle and that thing you do that meets in the middle is just beautiful, it's very rewarding. So yes, I'm very happy."
He continued: "We probably have 20 potential song ideas now. Of course, 20 won't be on the record. We're just jamming. But I'll tell you, there's nothing better than having too many good songs then not enough. It's great. You pick your faves."
Asked if TOOL singer Maynard James Keenan has heard the music his bandmates have been working on, Adam said: "Yeah. We have an FTP and a Dropbox and we're in communication. He's got other stuff he does, so we keep him in the loop, and he has written lyrics, but he's still working on that and he'll commit. The best thing for all of us is when the song is done. I don't write leads until the song is done. You want to get a vibe. And Maynard can work on lyrics, but until the song's done and he knows how the end is, he's still figuring out the flow."
He continued: "The thing with TOOL is you have four critical thinkers who like different stuff, so our process is not an easy one but it's a very rewarding one. So yes, he is exposed to new music. It's always been this way and it probably will always be this way and it's just how people work."
TOOL will embark on its U.S. tour in January, with the first confirmed date on January 9 in San Diego and the last so far on January 26 in Charlotte, North Carolina. Just eight shows have been unveiled so far, although at least another eight are expected to be announced as well.
Direct support on the trek will come from PRIMUS, with Los Angeles act 3TEETH also on the bill.
TOOL hasn't performed more than 20 shows in a single year since 2007. 4

ACCEPT's WOLF HOFFMANN Says Band Will Start Working On New Material Next YearMetal Temple magazine recently conducted an interview with guitarist Wolf Hoffmann of German/American metallers ACCEPT. You can now listen to the chat below. A couple of excerpts follow (transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET).
On the response to 2014's "Blind Rage" album:
"We've toured on this album longer than we ever had before, we just realized. Last night we were just talking, it's been a year and what… a year and a half now that it's been released. And we've been on the road ever since, and there's no stopping. We're gonna go back out here in a month again and then in the spring yet again, and after that, it's surely time to start working on a new album. But the reaction has been phenomenal."
On the inspiration for making new music:
"The inspiration for us to make an album is always the same: we just want to continue the legacy of ACCEPT and write songs that are totally ACCEPT style, but at the same time have something that's current and interesting. When we regrouped with Mark [Tornillo, vocals] about five years ago, we always said to ourselves, 'We're not gonna be just sitting back on the past success and play the old songs.' We wanted to start a new chapter and make albums that are relevant to fans. And that sounds easy, but it's not really that easy, or else everybody would do it. So we would try hard to come up with songs that totally feel familiar on one hand, but that, on the other hand, they sound modern and can compete with what's going on today."
"Blind Rage" was released in August 2014 via Nuclear Blast. Like its two predecessors, 2010's "Blood Of The Nations" and 2012's "Stalingrad", the new effort was helmed by British producer Andy Sneap, who has previously worked with MEGADETH, EXODUS, TESTAMENT, ARCH ENEMY and KILLSWITCH ENGAGE. The cover artwork was created by Daniel Goldsworthy.
"Blind Rage" sold around 6,400 copies in the United States in its first week of release. 142

STONE SOUR's Cover Version Of IRON MAIDEN's 'Running Free' Available For StreamingSTONE SOUR's cover version of the IRON MAIDEN classic "Running Free" can be streamed below. The song is taken from STONE SOUR's next covers EP, "Straight Outta Burbank", which will be released this month as part of Record Store Day's annual Black Friday bonanza. The effort will include additional cover versions of songs by BAD BRAINS, THE ROLLING STONES, SLAYER, and MÖTLEY CRÜE . Making a guest appearance on STONE SOUR's rendition of THE ROLLING STONES classic "Gimme Shelter" is HALESTORM singer Lzzy Hale.
Asked why STONE SOUR decided to cover " Running Free", singer Corey Taylor told Metal Hammer: "Well, if you're going to cover something, then you want to make sure you go for the best. It's no secret that I'm a huge IRON MAIDEN fan because... I mean... it's fucking MAIDEN, man! They've got so many great songs and I think they've got two vocalists that really led the charge you know. Not to put anything down that they did with Blaze [Bayley], but growing up it was [Paul] Di'Anno and [Bruce] Dickinson for me. So it was just a case of figuring out which tune we wanted to do and 'Running Free' just had the spirit of what we were looking for. You know, it's kickass, it's driving, it’s got the great MAIDEN guitar breaks that makes them such a special band. So, once we settled on that song and really got into it, we were really stoked."
"Straight Outta Burbank" track listing:
01. Sailin' On (BAD BRAINS cover)02. Running Free (IRON MAIDEN cover)03. Gimme Shelter (THE ROLLING STONES cover) (feat. Lzzy Hale)04. Too Fast For Love (MÖTLEY CRÜE cover)05. Seasons In The Abyss (SLAYER cover)
Now in its eighth year, Record Store Day is an annual day-long celebration of record store culture taking place on the third Saturday in April, with an annual Black Friday event occurring the day after Thanksgiving. This year, RSD has named Dave Grohl as Record Store Day Ambassador 2015.
Look for 5,000 copies of "Straight Outta Burbank" arriving on vinyl on November 27.
For more information, visit www.recordstoreday.com.
During a September 15 appearance on the Des Moines, Iowa radio station Lazer 103.3, STONE SOUR singer Corey Taylor stated about "Straight Outta Burbank": "It's done, it's mixed. We've got the album artwork all together. And it's awesome. It's really, really, really good."
He continued: "We're actually more into this one than we are [STONE SOUR's first covers EP, 'Meanwhile In Burbank…']. And that's nothing against the first one; the first one's super solid. This one, man, is so diverse, but it all feels really, really good. We're really stoked about it. We're doing everything from THE STONES to SLAYER. Like, it is on. It is so on, it's not even funny."
In a recent interview, Taylor said that the band's third covers EP — titled "No Sleep 'Till Burbank" — will also feature five songs, and will include new versions of tracks from the following artists: VAN HALEN, VIOLENT FEMMES, BUZZCOCKS, RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE and AC/DC.
Released this past April as a Record Store Day exclusive , "Meanwhile In Burbank…" contained songs originally done by BLACK SABBATH, JUDAS PRIEST, METALLICA, KISS and ALICE IN CHAINS.
Asked why STONE SOUR decided to release three separate EPs of covers, Taylor said: "This is something we've been talking about for years. And we decided, instead of putting it all on one, and trying to make that work, we were, like, 'Let's have fun with it.' It was kind of the same spirit of why we wanted to do 'em in the first place — is 'cause we wanted to have fun, just to kind of take the edge off, take the pressure off and just go in and have fun and kind of show the world what got us into making music in the first place. So we broke it up into three. That way, we could kind of play with the artwork, make it fun for the fans, and just have a good time with it. 'Cause we're making our nut on covers. But at the same time, when you do something like that, you wanna represent to the best of your ability. And by spacing it out and letting the fans get into five at a time, nothing gets lost in the shuffle. It just felt like by doing it that way, people would have time to digest each five before the next one comes on."
Regarding the "Burbank" tie-in in the titles of the three EPs, Taylor explained: "[Burbank, California is] where [STONE SOUR drummer] Roy [Mayorga] lives, and we did all the music in his home studio. So I was just, like, 'Dude, the title's gotta be, 'Meanwhile In Burbank…' And then it just became, like, 'How can we play on that?' 'No Sleep 'Till Burbank'… 'Straight Outta Burbank'… It was just hilarious. At one point, I wanted us to dress like a black metal band in his front yard and play volleyball. Because there's this giant palm tree in the front, and there's always sun and people walking their kids, or whatever, and we're dressed like MAYHEM. And we didn't have time, 'cause [STONE SOUR bassist Johny] Chow is out with CAVALERA [CONSPIRACY], and Roy's been doing some stuff. So we just didn't have that time where we were all in the same state. But I was, like, 'We've gotta remember that one, 'cause that could be rad.'"
On its last North American tour, STONE SOUR played a different cover every night, including songs that made the EP such as METALLICA's "Creeping Death", KISS's "Love Gun" and JUDAS PRIEST's "Heading Out To The Highway".
Guitarist Christian Martucci joined STONE SOUR in late 2013 as the replacement for Jim Root, who was fired from the group after deciding he wanted to sit out the band's last tour in order to start work on the next album from SLIPKNOT, of which he is also a member.

ROB ZOMBIE's '31' To Premiere At 2016 Sundance Film Festival"31", written and directed by Rob Zombie will make its world premiere in the Midnight section at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival. The Sundance Film Festival takes place January 21-31 in Park City, Salt Lake City, Ogden and Sundance, Utah. The Sundance Film Festival is one of the world's premier places to debut new independent films.
"31" tells the story of five carnies in 1976 kidnapped on the morning of Halloween and held hostage in a remote industrial Hell. While trapped, they are forced to play a violent game called 31. The mission is to survive 12 hours against an endless gang of grease-painted maniacs.
The film is produced by Andy Gould of Spectacle Entertainment Group, Rob Zombie, Michael Sherman and Matthew Perniciaro of Bow And Arrow Entertainment, Eddie Vaisman and Mike Elliott. International sales on the film are handled by Protagonist Pictures.
Alchemy acquired North American rights in the spring and will release the film theatrically in 2016.
Rob Zombie said: "We are all super-jazzed with the way '31' turned out. I can't wait to get to Park City and unleash it on the Sundance Film Festival audience!"
Although Zombie does plan out his films in advance, he told The Pulse Of Radio that you can only map out a movie so much before you start shooting. "The hardest thing is, until the moment you're gonna shoot, that'll be the first time you've ever been on set, that set, with your actors in wardrobe, with a camera, you know," he said. "So sometimes things just look different. You know, you can visualize in your head, like, 'Well, this, that and the other thing,' but you get in there and you're like, 'Wow, now that we're all here and I see you in that wardrobe against that backdrop, it's very different.'"
A new Rob Zombie studio album has already been completed and is expected out in early 2016. 1

The partnership between the two fellow Scandinavians worked well and together they have created some musical magic, which will truly impress the fans of these highly regarded musicians. Atkins says: "The music on the album has a focus on good melodies and there's some good guitar work as well. DARK FUNERAL To Record New Album In Early 2016Long-running Swedish black metallers DARK FUNERAL will enter the studio in early 2016 to begin recording their new album, to be released via Century Media.
Mastermind Lord Ahriman comments: "During the past months, we have been forging the foundation of what will become the new DARK FUNERAL album. Music and lyrics are falling in place, piece by piece. The actual plan for the release is also slowly taking shape and everything has finally started to move. We aim to hit the studio in early 2016 and to have the actual album in your hands during the first half of the year!"
DARK FUNERAL last year announced the addition of frontman Heljarmadr and bassist Natt to the group's ranks.
With roots in the second half of the '90s black metal scene and with tentacles in bands such as highly respected GRÁ, DOMGÅRD and CURSED 13 comes Heljarmadr, a raw force from the underground. Known as a fierce frontman, both on stage and on recordings with his previous bands, he will now step up and claim a seat in the throne room of DARK FUNERAL to inflict deep scars and infect wounds in the black metal scene. The name Heljarmadr derives from the old Scandinavian languages, simply meaning "a man belonging to hell." With a lot of experience in the arts of creating dark satanic music, he will play a key role in shaping the future vocal and lyrical direction of DARK FUNERAL. Expect nothing but excellence, pure darkness and uncompromising evil!
Treading into this world, Natt has always had a strong, deep interest in music and the arts of the great unknown. Spending time during the nights, exploring the Swedish ancient forests, avoiding the common mass that wanders this simplistic world, made his relations and visions to that which lies beyond, stronger.
Before DARK FUNERAL, Natt was a member of the black/thrash metal band ANGREPP where he met his now-close friends Adrian Lawson (ANGREPP, IXXI) and Fredrik Widigs (THE UGLY, MARDUK) and later on joined the deeply devoted black metal act WITHERSHIN.
DARK FUNERAL's latest video, "Nail Them To The Cross", can be seen below. The song was recorded at Dugout Studios in Uppsala, Sweden and was mixed and mastered by Daniel Bergstrand. The clip was directed by Owe Lingvall.
DARK FUNERAL celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2013 with a number of festival appearances all over Europe. They were joined at the gigs by their "classic" vocalist Emperor Magus Caligula, who left the band on good terms for personal reasons in 2010.
Formed in 1993 by Lord Ahriman, the band quickly gained massive underground support by being one of the most ferocious and fastest black metal acts on earth. Since then, they have spread their unholy gospel over the whole world and build up a loyal cult following from the coldest parts of the northern hemisphere to the hottest hell of Asia.
After an extensive and exhausting tour through Asia and Australia in late 2012, DARK FUNERAL parted ways with vocalist Nachtgarm. 1

Video: QUEEN's BRIAN MAY Performs 'Love Of My Life' At ROCK IN RIO FestivalVideo footage of QUEEN guitarist Brian May performing the song "Love Of My Life" on September 18 at the Rock In Rio festival in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil can be seen below.
On September 10, QUEEN members Brian May and Roger Taylor, along with "American Idol" finalist Adam Lambert — who has been singing for QUEEN on their tours, filling in for his idol Freddie Mercury — took part in a press conference ahead of their Rock In Rio performance.
Speaking about the similarities and differences between Mercury and Lambert, May said: "Well, there are differences, you know, but I think perhaps the greatest thing about Freddie is his connection with people, with an audience, and Adam has that. And I don't think that's something you can learn; I think it's something which you either perhaps have in you or not. You have to dedicate yourself, and Adam, like Freddie, is dedicated to his art. But without that — whatever that wonderful talent is — I don't think it would happen. When Adam walks onto a stage, it's not Freddie, and it's not him trying to be Freddie, but when Adam walks on and when Freddie walks on, something happens; there's some kind of catalytic action that happens between people, and it's a very rare and special thing. So I would say that's something that Adam and Freddie share, and I know that Freddie would agree with that. I mean, without even speaking about the voice. I mean, the voice… they both had, and have, incredible voices — the kind of voice that you don't find in a billion people. And, of course, the voice is very special, but it's not enough. You have to have the will and the spirit to use that wonderful instrument that you've been given to make that connection."
Lambert, May and Taylor first shared the stage during "American Idol" in May 2009 for a performance of "We Are The Champions". They teamed up again in 2011 at the MTV European Music Awards in Belfast, Ireland for an electrifying eight-minute finale of "The Show Must Go On", "We Will Rock You" and "We Are The Champions" and in the summer of 2012, Lambert performed a series of shows with QUEEN across Europe as well as dates in Russia, Ukraine and Poland. They also performed three sold-out gigs at London's Hammersmith Apollo.
After completing QUEEN's most recent European tour in January, May described Lambert as the only singer the band had found capable of filling Mercury's shoes. "Adam is the first person we've encountered who can do all the QUEEN catalogue without blinking," said May. "He is a gift from God."
Lambert, for his part, downplayed the Mercury comparisons, saying: "There's never going to be another, and I'm not replacing him. That's not what I'm doing. I'm trying to keep the memory alive, and remind people how amazing he was, without imitating him. I'm trying to share with the audience how much he inspired me."
Lambert released his third studio album, "The Original High", on June 16 through Warner Bros. 3

Ex-GUNS N' ROSES Guitarist RON 'BUMBLEFOOT' THAL Releases 'Don't Know Who To Pray To Anymore' Video"Don't Know Who To Pray To Anymore", the new video from former GUNS N' ROSES guitarist Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal, can be seen below.
Clocking in at over seven minutes, "Don't Know Who To Pray To Anymore" is a true return to form for the epic music video format, with storyline footage showcasing characters in various stages of life, from childhood to adult, hitting an emotional "rock bottom," faced with a life-changing choice. The stories are left open-ended, so you can ask yourself what choice you would make. "This song speaks for those that feel lost, betrayed, disillusioned, when we question all we believe in. When we start to lash out, and punish ourselves." says Thal. "This is a song about being in this place, in our own personal purgatory. We know we need to heal, but we're not ready to let go." Directed by Vojan Koceic, the video was a massive undertaking, filmed in three countries at 12 locations, including the Western Wall in Jerusalem, gaining exclusive access to ancient Roman ruins by the Jordanian border, with the distinction of being the only music video to ever have been shot there (filmed by director of photography Ami Bornstein). Additional band performances were filmed in Croatia at the Fortress of Klis and the Diocletian Palace (locations seen on the TV show "Game Of Thrones"), plus an additional 8 sets and featuring more than 50 actors.
"This video needed to be filmed in locations that have a deep historic and spiritual presence," says Thal. Additional filming locations included The Grianan of Aileach Ring Fort at a hilltop in Northern Ireland.
Just days after guitarist DJ Ashba quit GUNS N' ROSES, a source confirmed to Detroit music writer Gary Graff that Thal is also no longer a member of the group — and has been out for some time. The source said, "Bumblefoot quit last year. I don't understand why he continues to be evasive on his status with the band — he quit in South America. He told [singer] Axl [Rose] he was done and [the second GN'R Las] Vegas [residency] would be his last run with the band."
Thal recently revealed that he was focusing on his solo career after spending eight years playing in the current version of GUNS. Thal, however, stopped short of saying that he was no longer a member of GUNS, which has caused some fans to criticize him for not coming clean about where he stands with the group.
Asked to clarify his status with the band, Thal said: "That is the thing I am not to elaborate on. I think there's enough clues out there for you to figure out what I'm up to now."
Thal joined GUNS N' ROSES in early 2006 as the replacement for Buckethead.
Thal expressed frustration in 2013 with the lack of new music from GUNS, saying, "If something came out at this point, it would be very old material that is just being released now… We need to make an album of this band right now." The last new GUNS N' ROSES album, "Chinese Democracy", came out in 2008.

Country-Pop Star CARRIE UNDERWOOD Really Wants To Sing With AXL ROSECountry-pop star Carrie Underwood has told E! in a new interview with she really wants to sing with GUNS N' ROSES frontman Axl Rose at some point in her life. She said: "I've covered enough GUNS N' ROSES stuff, and it was people like him who taught me how to sing."
"I look at people like him and Freddie Mercury, those people who were doing all these crazy runs. It was so different," Underwood added.
In 2013, Underwood delivered a faithful cover of GUNS N' ROSES' "Paradise City" at the CMA Music Festival in Nashville. Check out video footage of the performance below.
Underwood said in a 2014 interview that late QUEEN frontman Freddie Mercury was high on her list of first loves.
"I've always been a huge fan and lover of Freddie Mercury," she said. "I would listen to him when I was a kid. He could do so many amazing things with his voice. People like that — who had incredible voices — I was always drawn to. I would want to try to do what they do. They were my teachers."
She also said that if you scrolled through her iPod, you’d find some really hard rock music, like MUDVAYNE.
"When I work out, I like to listen to things that are really angry," she said. "I couldn't do it on a daily basis or driving in my car. I think that would be kind of weird." 7

SPINEBREAKER Stream New Song "River Of Pain"San Jose-based Spinebreaker has unloaded the maiden single from their upcoming debut Ice Grave LP with the gory torrent of "River Of Pain".
Spinebreaker's Ice Grave debut provides a soundtrack of raw, sonic death-metal annihilation in a world of human filth, greed, and corruption. Having slithered into the Bay Area hardcore and metal community over the past two years, the band's explosive blend of European death metal is fueled through a sound and tendency for intense-as-fuck live performances out of love for an array of d-beat, punk, hardcore. Unloading pure audio destruction -- not overly calculated, lightning-fast or technical, but reliably menacing and tremendously heavy -- through the twelve tracks that form Ice Grave,Spinebreaker reminds the listener of the glory days of 1990s Scandinavian, Swedish and American death metal in a way that is refreshing and punishing. While the band varies in tempo, sometimes grooving into Heartwork-era down-tuned riffage, and other times blasting their way through an onslaught of tremolo and thrash, the songs never cease to impress in their ability to maintain brutally heavy, while diverse and violent in their own way.
Creator-Destructor will issue Ice Grave on 12" vinyl and through all digital outlets on January 15th, 2016. Preorders have gone live here. Tour dates, additional tunes and more from Spinebreaker is pending announcement in the coming weeks.

Video: GEOFF TATE's OPERATION: MINDCRIME Performs In BulgariaFan-filmed video footage of OPERATION: MINDCRIME, the new band led by former QUEENSRŸCHE singer Geoff Tate, performing on November 17 at Sofia Live Club in Sofia, Bulgaria can be seen below.
"The Key", the first album of an ambitious trilogy from OPERATION: MINDCRIME, sold around 2,500 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD was made available on September 18 via Frontiers Music Srl.
Joining Tate on "The Key" are a hard-hitting cast of familiar faces and new collaborators: bass players David Ellefson (MEGADETH) and John Moyer (DISTURBED, ADRENALINE MOB), drummers Simon Wright (AC/DC), Scott Mercado (CANDLEBOX) and Brian Tichy (BILLY IDOL, OZZY OSBOURNE), guitarists Kelly Gray (QUEENSRŸCHE) and Scott Moughton (Geoff Tate's solo band), keyboardist Randy Gane (MYTH) and vocalist Mark Daly (THE VOODOOS).
Asked if the touring lineup of OPERATION: MINDCRIME will be the same as the one that recorded the bulk of "The Key", Tate told Myglobalmind: "Well, I hope so. Everybody that was involved with the recording has expressed interest in touring. It's just a matter of if it works into everybody's schedule."
He continued: "I wanted this project to be open; meaning that people could be part of it, and or they could continue working with other projects that they were working with. I didn't really want to limit anybody's creative involvement with something that they felt strongly about, and I didn't want the same limitations on myself either. So we all agreed that we would all try very hard to be part of the touring project if at all possible, and so you'll see some combination of the people that were on this record on the tour." 3

WHITE EMPRESS / Former CIRCLE II CIRCLE Drummer ADAM SAGAN Diagnosed With Cancer - "I Am Now Fighting The Greatest Battle Of My Life"White Empress drummer Adam Sagan, who was brought on board earlier this year as a session drummer for the band, has been diagnosed with cancer (T-cell lymphoblast lymphoma). His former bandmates in Circle II Circle have posted the following:
"To our friends all over the world - Adam Sagan - our friend, and former Circle II Circle drummer is fighting for his life. A week ago he was diagonosed with an agressive cancer and he needs our help. Please, do what you can. Every little bit helps. Adam has given so much of himself to so many. Let us all give some of that back so that he can return to doing what he was meant to do - make music."
Money can be donated via a GoFundMe campaign set up here.
Sagan has posted the following message:
"Hello! My name is Adam Sagan. Many of you will know me from my professional drumming work with bands such as Circle II Circle, White Empress, Into Eternity, and Witherfall. I've been fortunate enough to tour a large part of the world, bringing powerful and meaningful music to hundreds of thousands of faces across the planet.
Outside of that, I am a son, an uncle, a brother, a teacher, and a mentor. I work full time and own a couple of start-up businesses. I recently bought a house in Minneapolis, MN. My passions are teaching, travelling, reading, the great outdoors, helping others and studying languages. I've always been a giver and never done very well with receiving, or asking for help when I need it, but sometimes life humbles us and changes all that.
I am now fighting the greatest battle of my life; T-Cell Lymphoblast Lymphoma. I am asking for any and all financial support I can receive to fight for my life. In addition to fast-mounting medical bills and a mortgage, even basic necessesities such as groceries and utilities are going to become an extraordinary challenge, especially as this part of the country braces to be buried in feet and feet of snow for the next several months. Every single penny raised will be used with the utmost caution and care to make sure that I not only have a chance to fight and beat this scourge, but so that I may in turn reciprocate and help others, which is what I do best. In my world, gratitude is everything, and it will be shared in spades.
Thank you all for taking the time to read and for your kind consideration."

SEPULTURA 'Reunion' Talk Will 'Go On Forever,' Says ANDREAS KISSERMetal Wani editor in chief Owais "Vitek" Nabi recently conducted an interview with SEPULTURA guitarist Andreas Kisser. You can now listen to the chat in two parts below. A couple of excerpts follow (transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET).
On SEPULTURA's latest album, 2013's "The Mediator Between Head and Hands Must Be the Heart":
"I think we have two factors on this last album, which are very important. I mean, [producer] Ross [Robinson] is one of them, for sure. And the other one is our new drummer [Eloy Casagrande], [who's been] four years with us already. And he really brought some new possibilities for our music. He's an amazing musician; he can play basically anything. [His playing style is] very metal, very powerful, very much with that urge to break limits. So the consequence was 'Mediator' — songs that were really… that stretch our possibilities as musicians, which was great for me, Paulo [Xisto Pinto Jr., bass] and Derrick [Green, vocals], to have that kind of push and motivation to do something extra and something new, and really to take SEPULTURA to a different level. And Ross [who previously worked with SEPULTURA on 1996's 'Roots'] really enhanced everything, especially with Derrick's singing and the performance. It was great. I mean, of course, it was different times and different ideas than 'Roots' and stuff, but we have that kind of communication of friends. I mean, we know each other, and we respect each other so much. It was the perfect choice; we're very happy with everything."
On whether SEPULTURA has started working on the follow-up to "The Mediator Between Head and Hands Must Be the Heart":
"Yeah, we started putting… actually, putting the mold on. I mean, I have riffs written… Nowadays it's very easy to write… I mean, not to write, but to keep the ideas. [With] phones and stuff, you can keep any idea anywhere. So we started to develop and to organize these riffs and ideas. Eloy is writing some drum loops and stuff. Me and Derrick are talking about lyrics and topics and names and stuff… So, [it's] very early stages, but… Yeah, the plan is to, in February, start really practicing in São Paulo, [where] we have our studio, and then start developing the demos and do the pre-production."
On when SEPULTURA plans to enter the studio to begin recording the new album:
"[That] depends on the rhythm of the writing and stuff. But hopefully we'll be in the studio [recording the CD] around May or June… something like that. The idea is to have an album out by the end of the year — before the end of 2016. So let's see [what happens]."
On people constantly asking about the possibility of a reunion of SEPULTURA's classic lineup, featuring guitarist/vocalist Max Cavalera and drummer Igor Cavalera:
"I think it's gonna go on forever. Unfortunately, people are really… They're stuck in a date, in a year, in an era of their life. They didn't develop something of their own. They didn't move on, it seems like. We had to rebuild SEPULTURA from scratch, because when Max left, he took the management, he took the label, he took, basically, Ross and [producer/mixer] Andy Wallace. It took everything that we built… It took ten years to build that, [and] Max took it for him. And it was very difficult for us, of course — to lose the lead singer, a charismatic guy… Max was really one of a kind of a lead singer, you know, so it was very difficult on that respect, but the most difficult part was really to rebuild the whole structure — the confidence from the label and the fans. The campaign that [Max] Cavalera did was really… He tried to separate the axis of evil: 'Either you're with me or with them.' It was something very stupid in the end. I mean, this is not a political party; this is music. If you choose to follow a different path, so be it — just go for it. Don't keep looking back and talking shit — which he still does. But that's his problem, and that's something that he has to deal with. But we are very focused on what we're doing right now, and this kind of stuff is always gonna come up, because people don't let it really rest. [Laughs] But it's fine. I mean, we take it as a normal thing. Many bands pass through this kind of stuff, but you don't hear, like… I don't know… VAN HALEN came back with Dave Lee Roth, which was something that the fans… David Ellefson came back to MEGADETH after a while too. So, I mean, it's something that… Every case is a different case. Although it's rock and roll, it's music, it's very common… Pay attention to how many bands the family of BLACK SABBATH and DEEP PURPLE made… It's, like, WHITESNAKE and whatever… RAINBOW and DIO… You know, great musicians that came up with all those disagreements and fighting and stuff. So really good stuff came out of these bad situations — amazing music, you know." 22

SHINEDOWN Bassist Says KANYE WEST Is 'More Shocking' Than MARILYN MANSONRevolver magazine conducted an interview with SHINEDOWN bassist Eric Bass at this year's Aftershock festival, which was held October 24-25 at the Gibson Ranch, just outside Sacramento, California. You can now watch the chat below.
Asked who is more shocking, Marilyn Manson or Kanye West, Bass responded: "Kanye West, because Kanye is a little more calculated. I firmly believe that Kanye West is not what you see on TV. I know some people that know, and I'm just saying. I think that it's an act, but it's a different kind of act. I think Marilyn Manson is awesome as Marilyn Manson is, and when I was younger, it was really cool. It's a dog-and-pony show; it's what Alice Cooper was, and KISS, and SLIPKNOT and all those bands. You're putting on a scary act. Kanye just puts on the 'F_ You' act. So I have to say Kanye is more shocking, because you honestly don't know what he's gonna do next. You know, I think the guy is… For that, man, he's built an empire out of just saying fucked-up shit. So I go Kanye, for sure."
As previously reported, SHINEDOWN's fifth studio album, "Threat To Survival", debuted at No. 6 on The Billboard 200 album chart in late September, selling 65,000 copies in its first week of release. That's two notches below the band's last effort, 2012's "Amaryllis", which moved 106,000 copies in its first week to enter the survey at No. 4, a career high for the group.
The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA).
In terms of pure album sales, "Threat To Survival" opened at No. 5 with 61,000 copies.
"Threat To Survival" is the third SHINEDOWN album to enter the chart in the Top 10, following "Amaryllis" and 2008's "The Sound Of Madness", which debuted at No. 8.
The first single from the album, "Cut The Cord", reached the top of the rock radio airplay chart.
All 19 of SHINEDOWN's singles over the years have reached the Top 10 or higher. 2

EUROPE's 'The Final Countdown' Tops Commercials ChartAccording to Billboard.com, EUROPE's classic song "The Final Countdown", which is featured in a Geico ad, had 28,000 in digital sales and 5.8 million U.S. streams in October, up from 20,000 and 3.7 million, respectively, in September. The song spent four weeks atop Billboard's Hard Rock Digital Songs chart, marking the band's first No. 1 on a Billboard chart. The anthem reached No. 8 on the Hot 100 in 1987.
The commercial's official clip has been viewed more than 700,000 times since it was posted to YouTube in early September.
It was late 1981, early 1982. Joey Tempest was a college student in his native Sweden when he used a borrowed keyboard to compose the haunting minor-key refrain that would one day make him a star.
"I wrote it late one night when I was just trying the keyboard out, and I saved it," Tempest tells Geico.com about the instantly recognizable introduction to "The Final Countdown", the iconic title track of the band's third album and a number one hit in 25 countries in 1986.
It was while preparing to record EUROPE's third album that his bandmates convinced him to write a song around the intro.
With its catchy synthesizers and gloriously bombastic sound, "The Final Countdown" is as much a throwback to the 1980s as leg warmers and designer jeans, despite being originally conceived as homage to David Bowie's 1969 song "Space Oddity".
In the 29 years since its debut, it has become a last-minute fixture in NBA and NHL arenas across the country, as well as a popular ringtone.
It has been featured in many TV shows and movies like "Pitch Perfect" and named the 66th best hard rock song ever by VH1.
On one memorable occasion, New Year's Eve 1999, EUROPE — reunited for the first time in seven years — played the song before 500,000 people in Stockholm as part of Sweden's Millennium celebration.
Geico is bringing the song back in the spotlight again, following other pop culture icons, including Dora The Explorer and SALT-N-PEPA, in Geico's popular "It's What You Do" campaign.
Currently touring in support of their 10th studio album, the punchy, hard-hitting "War Of Kings" — their fifth album since formally reuniting in 2004 — EUROPE is far from being portrayed as a nostalgia act, merely trading on past glories.
"We usually turn most of these things down, but this one was interesting," says Tempest. "It's going to be good for us—people can get reacquainted with us before we come on tour."
EUROPE already trekked through the U.S. East Coast in the spring — its first time playing before American audiences in nearly a decade — and plans to return for a series of more dates early next year.
The old joke among concertgoers is that it's usually time to head to the bathroom or the concession stand when bands announce, "We'd like to play you something from our new album." EUROPE is playing four or five new songs on the current tour, but Tempest says they're being greeted enthusiastically, even inspiring sing-alongs in some venues, as "War Of Kings" has garnered largely positive reviews in the rock press.
Tempest says there are no immediate plans to stop recording or touring. "We have talked about doing five or 10 more years and then we'll talk about it again, [but] we don't have a stop in mind," he says. "We just want to be on the journey as long as we can. We're enjoying it at the moment." 8

VINNY APPICE Talks About First Joining BLACK SABBATH – “It Was Always ‘You’re In The Band Until Bill Ward Comes Back’”Famed Dio, Black Sabbath and Heaven & Hell drummer, Vinny Appice, recently joined Mitch Lafon for a special YouTube edition of One On One With Mitch Lafon. In the full episode, Vinny talked his new band Last In Line (featuring Def Leppard's Vivian Campbell, bassist Jimmy Bain and singer Andrew Freeman) and much more. In this teaser excerpt, Vinny recounts the Black Sabbath – Mob Rules days.
Appice stated: "When I first joined the band, I was a kid. I brought my drums down to audition with them in my '67 Mustang. It started out from there and it was always 'you're in the band until Bill Ward comes back'. They expected him to come back. This was his baby."
February 19th will see the release of the debut album from Last In Line, entitled Heavy Crown. Formed by three original members of Dio including Def Leppard’s Vivian Campbell (guitar), Vinny Appice (drums) and Jimmy Bain (bass) and named after Dio’s 1984 studio album, The Last In Line, the band are on a mission to bring classic hard rock to fans who can’t get enough of the real thing. The album will be released on CD, CD/DVD (including a bonus track) and digital formats. Pre-order the album here.
The official music video for the first single, “Devil In Me”, is streaming below. The single is now available as an instant grat with digital pre-orders from iTunes and AmazonMP3.
Says guitarist Vivian Campbell, “When we started this project a few years ago, the initial idea was to reunite the original Dio band to play the songs we wrote and recorded with Ronnie in the early 1980’s. Joined by Andrew Freeman on vocals, we played a handful of shows in southern California, the UK, and Japan. It was a limited ambition, but it brought us great joy in reconnecting to this great music, to each other, and to our collective history.”
“When we first got together as the Last In Line line-up, our ambition at that time didn’t extend to writing and recording any new music, says Campbell, “but when we were offered the opportunity to do so by Frontiers, we decided to enter the studio to write this new album in the very same spirit as we did the Holy Diver album; Back in 1982 Ronnie, Vinny, Jimmy and I went into Sound City studios to kick around ideas and riffs, and about six weeks later we started laying down the tracks for what was to become the Holy Diver album.”

Will There Be A New JANE'S ADDICTION Studio Album? DAVE NAVARRO RespondsWhile appearing on the red carpet at the November 3 benefit concert and live auction for Rhonda's Kiss in Los Angeles, JANE'S ADDICTION guitarist Dave Navarro was asked by Artisan News if there are any plans for the band to record a new studio album. He said: "We're on tour right now, so it's hard to say. Between shooting [tattoo reality show] 'Ink Master' and… I have a documentary film coming out right now called 'Mourning Son'. It's coming out December 1. And doing events like this, and being on tour with JANE'S ADDICTION, it's kind of hard to schedule, but, you know, my hope is that we would always be recording."
JANE'S ADDICTION, which has broken up and reunited several times since forming in 1985, released its fourth studio album, "The Great Escape Artist", in 2011 and a concert album/DVD called "Live In NYC" in 2013.
JANE'S ADDICTION has been touring to celebrate the 25th anniversary of its 1990 album "Ritual De Lo Habitual". The band is performing the album in it entirety on the trek.
Navarro is at the center of a new documentary called "Mourning Son", which focuses on the true story of what happened to Navarro's mother and the repercussions of her death. The film was written by Navarro and director Todd Newman, and was produced by Navarro, Newman and Larissa Swan. The film will be released via VOD on December 1.
The film is described as a "heartbreaking, inspirational journey" in which Navarro "confronts the events that changed his life forever." 1

PHILIP ANSELMO Working On New Death Metal Project METRATON NGANGAAccording to Jay Gorania of Hellbound.ca, former PANTERA and current DOWN and SUPERJOINT frontman Philip Anselmo is singing and writing material for a new death metal project called METRATON NGANGA. The group, whose lineup also includes drummer José Manuel Gonzalez (SUPERJOINT, WARBEAST, PHILIP H. ANSELMO & THE ILLEGALS), possesses a sound that is described by Gorania as "mysterious" and "dark," and "not far removed from the spirit of old IMMOLATION and INCANTATION, or even Mexico's SHUB NIGGURATH." The writer, who heard a few of the METRATON NGANGA tracks while hanging out with Anselmo at the first show of SUPERJOINT's recently completed tour, adds: "It's thunderous, yet it has a distant, detached dream-like quality."
Anselmo recently revealed that he is involved with a black metal band called SCOUR, also including members of CATTLE DECAPITATION and PIG DESTROYER. In addition, he is working on material for a new PHILIP H. ANSELMO & THE ILLEGALS album and is composing music for SUPERJOINT's first release since 2003's "A Lethal Dose Of American Hatred" (when the band was still known as SUPERJOINT RITUAL).
Anselmo spoke to Metal Wani about how he keeps his vocal approach different for each project that he is involved with. He said: "Because I can do it all, pretty much. I mean, aside from certain genres, of course, that deman falsetto or high vocals or something that I'm not able to do, or willing to do. I can sing when I want to sing, and I can scream when I want to scream. I can do these things. So it's a blessing. It's something that I do, just out of the love of the project. You know, screaming over DOWN wouldn't make any sense, really, at all, especially when you're coming from the roots of, say, BLACK SABBATH. When I think DOWN, that's what I think about — is BLACK SABBATH. With SUPERJOINT, I think more, I guess, like middle-'80s hardcore, or something like that."
According to Anselmo, the direction of SUPERJOINT's new material will be very similar to that one the band's first two albums, 2002's "Use Once And Destroy" and "A Lethal Dose Of American Hatred". "It won't sound any different, because myself, Jimmy [Bower, guitar] and Kevin [Bond, guitar] have always been the main writers in SUPERJOINT anyway, so, really — for the most part, really, me and Jimmy. So it shouldn't sound much different at all," he told Full Metal Jackie back in July. 1

DEFTONES Frontman Confirms He Is A 'Belieber'DEFTONES frontman Chino Moreno has admitted to U.K.'s Kerrang! magazine that he is a "Belieber" — a.k.a. fan of pop singer Justin Bieber.
Asked what song you wouldn't expect to find on his iPod, Moreno named Bieber's "What Do You Mean?" He explained: "I actually downloaded this song just yesterday. I had to; it's completely unavoidable! It comes on in the car every time I get in it. And you know what? I like it! I really do! I don't know how surprised people will be about that. I think people who know me know that I listen to a lot of corny shit! I've got no problem with it, so I'll just keep on enjoying this one."
The members of METALLICA were asked in a 2013 issue of Q magazine if they were "Beliebers" after Bieber claimed that the METALLICA songs "One" and "Fade To Black" were his "jams." Frontman James Hetfield replied, "Are we Beliebers? Yes." while drummer Lars Ulrich offered: "Is it possible to have respect for him without being a Belieber? I think the kid's really talented and obviously to go through what he's going through at that early age must be a mindfuck. So the fact that he still goes out there and does it, I admire that and I think he's super talented, so I guess I am kind of a Belieber. If he likes 'One', and Liam Gallagher likes him, OK, there you go."
Bassist Robert Trujillo added: "As long as he stays out of trouble, I'll be a Belieber."
Back in 2013, a backstage video surfaced of Justin Bieber performing an impromptu cover of METALLICA's "Fade To Black". The 15-second clip showed Bieber playing air guitar while he tried to recreate the guitar solo from the classic 1984 METALLICA track with his voice. 14
