THE NEW ROSES Release “What If It Was You” Lyric Video

THE NEW ROSES Release “What If It Was You” Lyric Video

The song “What If It Was You“ was written exactly one year ago by the German rock band The New Roses, but has never been more up to date than today.

On the night of the attacks in Paris, The New Roses stood at the Swiss/French border in Switzerland in order to cross into France for their French/Spanish tour. The authorities informed the band about the events in Paris. The young band spent the entire night at the checkpoint and, at daybreak, came to the conclusion that they had no other option, but to cancel their tour for two reasons.

The first reason was out of respect and consideration for the French nation and their own despair, and the second reason was for logistical reasons (they would have to cross from France to Spain, but the borders were also closed there). One of the dates on their tour included a performance at the Bataclan on December 8th. The next day, the band received a bloodcurdling e-mail from the Parisian promoter telling them that he lost many friends and colleagues during the night of the attacks.

Portraying the thoughts and vision of front man Timmy Rough, “What If It Was You” works deep through the feelings of loss. The New Roses commend all humans around the world who are concerned about war and terror.

SAFFIRE Featuring Former EVIL MASQUERADE Singer Tobias Jansson Release “Casters Of The First Stone” Video

SAFFIRE Featuring Former EVIL MASQUERADE Singer Tobias Jansson Release “Casters Of The First Stone” Video

"Casters Of The First Stone", the new video from Swedish hard rockers Saffire, whose lineup includes powerhouse singer Tobias Jansson (ex-Evil Masquerade), can be seen below. The song, which deals with racism, is taken from the bands second album, For The Greater Good, which will be released on November 27th via Metal Heaven.

For The Greater Good consists of 11 songs written by Victor Olsson and Tobias Jansson. The album was mixed and partly recorded at Sound Industry Studio by Arnold Lindberg (Ghost, In Flames, Evergrey, Hardcore Superstar) and mastered by Dragan Tanaskovic (In Flames, Dark Tranquillity, Mustasch, The Poodles).

The second Saffire record really is an interesting piece of work. On the one hand it's partly conceptual as five or six songs deal with surveillance, control and a totalitarian regime being in power which is perfectly illustrated by the dark cover art with its cartoon-like-style.

Guitar player and bandleader Victor Olsson and his lot on the other hand manage to create a multi-layered classic rock album which dares to sound quite contemporary at times and pretty old-fashioned where needed. Quite melodic but never to cheesy ("Dandelion's Shame") or in-depth like in "Casters Of The First Stone" dealing with racism. "Wake Up The World" is very much Black Sabbath with Tony Martin-style. Definitely an album you will not stop listening to in a very long time.

For The Greater Good tracklisting:

“The Great Escape”
“Casters Of The First Stone”
“For The Greater Good”
“Heartless”
“Dandelion’s Shame”
“Shadowland”
“Wake Up The World”
“As Promises Burn”
“Blame It On The Rain”
“Ghost Town”
“This Is Not The End”

Six SCORPIONS Albums Simultaneously Land On German Chart

Six SCORPIONS Albums Simultaneously Land On German Chart

According to RadioAndMusic.com, six of the SCORPIONS albums have simultaneously placed on the German chart after being reissued as deluxe editions earlier this month. The albums, released by BMG, were originally produced by Dieter Dierks, and have been re-released as part of the band's massive 50th-anniversary celebrations. They are "Blackout" (1982) which entered the chart at No. 43; "Love At First Sting" (1984), which landed at No. 46; "World Wide Live" (1985), which came in at No. 52; "Lovedrive" (1979), which entered the chart at No. 59; "Tokyo Tapes" (1978), which landed at No. 70; and "Scorpions Deluxe Vinyl Box Set", which came in at No. 97.

SCORPIONS' new feat makes them the fifth music act to have six or more albums place on the German charts at the same time. Other artists to have also achieved the milestone include THE BEATLES, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson and James Last.

In addition to dozens of previously unheard studio tracks and live recordings, all CD releases are contain extended booklets featuring rare photos and, single covers, backstage passes and additional liner notes by Edgar Klüsener, a former editor in chief of Metal Hammer who has followed the band's career closely over several decades. Five of the eight albums are accompanied bya DVD that contains live concert footage from the respective period, together with TV performances and in-depth interviews with the band. In these interviews, they talk about the background history and the creative process of each of these albums.

The remastered LP formats are released on 180-gram vinyl in a sleeve replicating the first pressing. They also come with an audio CD, featuring the original track listing and the same bonus audio as the CD formats. A limited and numbered deluxe box set will contain all remasted vinyl discs.

SCORPIONS said: "It's hard to summarize 50 years in words, but listening back to all those songs — many of them them previously unreleased — recorded in one of our most creative periods, really took us back in time. This was a very heartfelt project for all of us. It brought back great memories whilst we rediscovered our musical DNA by listening to the archives, selecting dozens of unreleased songs and early versions of well-known SCORPIONS anthems. We really worked on the material to improve the sound quality, but always taking great care to preserve its original feel."

ANTHRAX

ANTHRAX's 'Madhouse' Live Recording From 'Spreading The Disease' 30th-Anniversary Edition

On November 20, three decades after its October 30, 1985 debut, Universal will release a special 30th anniversary edition of ANTHRAX's classic "Spreading The Disease", the band's second studio album and the one that served as the then-budding thrash band's breakthrough, and still considered one of the best thrash-metal records ever recorded.

"We wanted to do something special for our fans to celebrate the anniversary of 'Spreading The Disease'," said ANTHRAX's Charlie Benante. "We took the idea to Universal a couple of years ago and have been very hands-on with them, creating this special, deluxe edition that we think our fans will really like." From the beginning, Benante has kept one of everything the band did — artwork, t-shirts, posters, and when the band was recording, he had the engineer run off a few tapes of the project's basic tracks, alternate takes and alternate mixes, just to stockpile until the time came that they would be needed. Consequently, in addition to the original album's nine tracks, the two-disc anniversary edition features previously unreleased bonus material including Joey Belladonna's 1984 demo recording of the song "Medusa", nine "rhythm tracks" from ANTHRAX recordings also done in 1984 — no vocals, no overdubs or "sweetening," just drums, some guitar, a bit of bass, showing the songs in their naked, most basic form — and eight live songs from ANTHRAX's 1987, first-ever concert in Japan, held at Tokyo's Sun Plaza. "'Spreading The Disease' was our first real record on a major label," said Benante. "We were on a roll with that album, and we wanted to perform those songs as close to the album versions as possible. I think the performances show the excitement of a young band that was on its way, so we wanted to have them on this reissue."

Produced by ANTHRAX with Carl Canedy, the 44-minute "Spreading The Disease" marked the first ANTHRAX album to feature singer Belladonna and bassist Frank Bello (joining drummer Benante and guitarists Dan Spitz and Scott Ian), and set into motion the core elements that would become the essence of ANTHRAX. In addition, the album also introduced the ANTHRAX writing partnership of Benante and Ian (that eventually evolved into Benante, Ian and Bello).

For Bello, "Spreading The Disease" was his full-on album recording baptism. Only 18 at the time, he hadn't yet fully realized his own style of playing, but over the course of the sessions, he developed it. "You can hear all of my influences on every song, Steve Harris, Geddy Lee, Geezer Butler, all of them." Bello remembers that "Spreading The Disease" didn't quite come of age until later on, but it was definitely "simmering." "What we were doing was so fresh, so different - we had heavy songs with these great, melodic vocals — and eventually, people caught on and loved what we were doing. I think every song on 'Spreading The Disease' still stands up today."

"Spreading The Disease" represented a turning point in rock. It came during a time when the landscape was transitioning from the "hair band scene" to a new composite of metal, punk and hardcore — thrash metal. The album was compelling and utterly fresh to the 1985 music fan with its speedy rhythms, savage riffs, blistering solos, punishing drum work and a killer melodic performance by Belladonna. Unlike the thrash bands sprouting up on the west coast that focused on speed, ANTHRAX's focus was on catchiness, hooks, and a hot and sweaty, New York mosh sensibility. And it wasn't just the music that was morphing, it was a whole new culture that was being birthed. And ANTHRAX, along with METALLICA, SLAYER and MEGADETH, was right at its nucleus.

"Spreading The Disease" contains several ANTHRAX standouts: "A.I.R.", with its great riffs and abundance of melody, "Madhouse", a testament to the band's top-notch song-writing skills that showcased their grasp of melody, and "Armed And Dangerous", a soulful ballad with its singalong chorus and spine-tingling performance by Belladonna. "Aftershock" is probably the album's punkiest song with its blistering guitar solo, and the closer, "Gung-Ho", with its out-and-out speed-kills blitzkrieg, is a superb piece of thrash metal.

"We didn't know what we were doing, but we totally knew what we were doing," said Ian. "I know that doesn't make sense, but it's where we were at, a bunch of 21 year-old kids making our major label debut on a shoestring budget with nothing but a dream and a bunch of songs that we thought killed. We were right and our dream came true. Thank you to all the fans that put this record and ANTHRAX on the map way back when and still support us today. Cheers my friends!"

CHILDREN OF BODOM

CHILDREN OF BODOM's ALEXI LAIHO Teaches You How To Play Guitar (Video)

U.K.'s Total Guitar magazine has uploaded a three-part guitar lesson featuring Alexi Laiho of Finnish metallers CHILDREN OF BODOM. Check it out below.

CHILDREN OF BODOM's latest album, "I Worship Chaos", was once again recorded at Helsinki, Finland's Danger Johnny Studios and was produced by CHILDREN OF BODOM and Mikko Karmila, who worked with the band on their earlier albums "Halo Of Blood", "Hatebreeder", "Follow The Reaper" and "Hate Crew Deathroll". The CD was mixed and mastered at Finnvox Studios in Helsinki, Finland.

Laiho recently told Full Metal Jackie about the making of "I Worship Chaos": "All four of us, we felt like that we needed to sort of like reinvent ourselves and push things harder and work harder and even just put more effort on everything. It felt like that the whole band was just getting tired on every possible level. So, we did a lot of changes, and got a new management and the whole nine [yards], basically, and everybody… All of a sudden, everyone was on the same level as far as brand new work ethics and stuff like that. And I think, well, at least in my opinion, you can hear that in the music, too, that it is more energetic than it has been in a couple of years, I would say, anyway."

CHILDREN OF BODOM in May announced the departure of the band's guitarist of the past decade, Roope Latvala.

TERROR: "Sick And Tired

TERROR: "Sick And Tired' Video Released

"Sick And Tired", the new video from TERROR, can be seen below. The song is taken from the band's new album, "The 25th Hour", which was released on August 7 via Victory.

"The 25th Hour" track listing:

01. The 25th Hour02. No Time For Fools03. Bad Signs04. Feed The Rats05. The Solution06. Blinded By The Lights07. Trust No Face08. Why?09. Mind At War10. Snap11. Sick And Tired12. Life Goes On13. Both Of You14. Deep Rooted

In a recent interview with The LP Collective, TERROR guitarist Martin Stewart stated about the concept behind "The 25th Hour": "I can give my personal view on what the title means to me. 24 hours, to me, just isn't enough. When it comes to the amount of work and dedication we put into this band, into hardcore music in general, we go beyond the normal 24 hours in a day. I think a lot of people that care about hardcore's music and viability can relate to that. At the core of things, hardcore music is still DIY, so it's up to everyone involved to keep it moving. Sure, there may have been lots of changes here and there with who's dipping their hands in the areas where money is being made, but in the end, if all that were to disappear, you would find everyone in this band still on the frontline doing whatever necessary to make shit happen."

Asked how he continues to stay inspired after releasing six studio albums as TERROR, Martin said: "The only thing that could ever feel mechanical about it to me is the actual time in the studio. Not at all to say that recording an album is mechanical, but there's moments when you're working on a specific song for a large part of the day, listening to the same part over and over again, that it can start to feel a little boring."

He continued: "It's easy to stay inspired when you actually care about and believe in what you're doing. Inspiration comes naturally when you're in that position."

THE DARKNESS:

THE DARKNESS: 'I Am Santa' Video

British rockers THE DARKNESS will re-release their fourth album, "Last Of Our Kind", on November 20 as a "deluxe edition" featuring four new tracks. "Messenger", "Always Had The Blues", "Million Dollar Strong" and "I Am Santa". They join the phenomenal original ten tracks which were unleashed earlier this year to critical acclaim. "Million Dollar Strong" will be available immediately to people pre-ordering a copy of the deluxe album.

The official video for the song "I Am Santa" can be seen below.

THE DARKNESS's "Blast Of Our Kind" tour will commence on November 28 in Norwich and culminate in a triumphant show at London's Roundhouse on December 20. It is the first, and a golden, opportunity for enthusiasts to see THE DARKNESS on their own stage in support of "Last Of Our Kind" and their first tour since 2013. The band will play tours in the U.S. and Australia before the end of the 2015 and head to Europe in the New Year.

THE DARKNESS in April parted ways with drummer Emily Dolan Davies and replaced her with Rufus Taylor, the son of legendary QUEEN drummer Roger Taylor.

Rufus made his debut with THE DARKNESS at the Gibson release party for "Last Of Our Kind" in London on April 24.

Speaking about THE DARKNESS's latest addition, frontman Justin Hakwins told Kerrang! magazine: "It felt like a revelation. We had a lot of mutual friends, and as it would turn out, Brian May's guitar tech put him forward for the gig. There's something really special about his drumming. So, yeah, we want to work with him for as long as we can. This is THE DARKNESS, though, so things can change in a heartbeat."

Regarding Rufus's predecessor, Justin said: "We love Emily. She's a great drummer and a nice person, but it broke down because she couldn't be available for everything we needed. I think we're quite a demanding band to be in…"

New Song Premiere: DROWNING POOL

New Song Premiere: DROWNING POOL's 'By The Blood'

Texas heavy rockers DROWNING POOL will release their new album, "Hellelujuah", on January 22 via eOne Music. The follow-up to 2013's "Resilience" was recorded with renowned producer Jason Suecof (AUGUST BURNS RED, DEICIDE, DEATH ANGEL).

A preview of the first single from "Hellelujuah", a song called "By The Blood", is available below.

"We're excited as hell to announce the release of our new record titled 'Hellelujah'," says the band. "This is the most metal record from DROWNING POOL to date. Can we get a Hellelujah? Amen!"

DROWNING POOL earlier in the year embarked on the second leg of its "Sinner Unlucky 13th Anniversary Tour", on which the band played its 2001 debut album, "Sinner", from start to finish.

The "Sinner" album arrived in June 2001 and featured the monster single "Bodies", plus follow-up rock radio hits "Sinner" and "Tear Away".

Original DROWNING POOL frontman Dave Williams, who sang on "Sinner", passed away from heart disease on the band's tour bus in August 2002, while the group was out promoting the record.

In January 2004, the band announced the addition of singer Jason "Gong" Jones. Their sophomore effort, "Desensitized", followed several months later. In 2006, Ryan McCombs assumed the vocal duties, and a year later they released "Full Circle", followed by a self-titled album in 2010. McCombs, the only singer to ever record more than one album with the group, departed the following year, and was replaced by SUICIDE HOOK vocalist Jasen Moreno, who made his official debut on "Resilience".

HINDER Involved In Bus Crash (Photo)

HINDER Involved In Bus Crash (Photo)

The tour bus carrying Oklahoma City rockers HINDER was involved is a crash on Wednesday, November 18 en route to the band's next show. HINDER bassist Mike Rodden and the band's lighting guy, Clint, both suffered broken ribs in the incident, which happened outside Cookeville, Tennessee. In addition, HINDER's bus driver, Dave, was transferred to a hospital in Nashville where he underwent surgery.

Dave's service dog named Cuzco, a 45-pound Australian Shepherd, briefly went missing after the accident but was eventually found.

HINDER's new full-length album, "When The Smoke Clears", was released in May. The CD features the band's new lead singer Marshal Dutton, who also happens to be the co-producer on several of their records.

Dutton previously sang for HINDER on some tour dates during original frontman Austin Winkler's hiatus from the band in 2012.

After Winkler left for good in November 2013, the band recruited Nolan Neal to take his place. A single, "Hit The Ground", was released last year with Neal on vocals.

HINDER made its debut in 2005 with the album "Extreme Behavior", which yielded the Top 10 smash "Lips Of An Angel".

ENTOMBED A.D. To Release

ENTOMBED A.D. To Release 'Dead Dawn' Album In February

Swedish metallers ENTOMBED A.D. will release their second album, "Dead Dawn", on February 26, 2016 via Century Media. A single will precede the full-length effort in mid-December.

ENTOMBED A.D. guitarist and co-producer Nico Elgstrand states: "After festering an eon inside the belly of the beast, it finally disposed of us. I'm not gonna tell you out of which orifice we were spawned, but I will tell you it was demeaning in the true sense of the word. From this horrible experience came the urge to express ourselves through sound and so we did. Now, it's done and we can only look proudly back on what we have created: a damn sinister sounding record. You might not be able to comprehend it, but you won't be able to deny it either!"

ENTOMBED A.D. will embark on a European tour in January with BEHEMOTH, ABBATH and INQUISITION. The trek will kick off on January 29 in Copenhagen, Denmark and will wrap on February 14 in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

Comments ENTOMBED A.D. bassist Victor Brandt: "We are really looking forward to get out of the studio and hit the road with our friends in BEHEMOTH, ABBATH and INQUISITION. It's a really cool package. Every band is bringing their 'A' game and I can promise you that you do not want to miss this. There's gonna be a few surprises on the setlist and we're hitting the stage as a five-piece. See you in the pit and/or at the bar! Cheers!" ENTOMBED A.D.'s "Back To The Front" album was released on August 5, 2014 via Century Media Records. The CD was recorded at Studio Bohus (ABBA, EUROPE) in Kungälv, Sweden with producer Roberto Laghi (IN FLAMES, HARDCORE SUPERSTAR). The cover artwork was painted by Zbigniew Bielak (WATAIN, VADER).

ENTOMBED A.D. is:

Lars Göran Petrov - VocalsNico Elgstrand - GuitarVictor Brandt - BassOlle Dahlstedt - Drums

In an interview with Revolution-Music.dk, Petrov stated about the band's decision to release "Back To The Front" under the name ENTOMBED A.D. in order to avoid a legal battle with ENTOMBED guitarist Alex Hellid who didn't want his former bandmates to use the ENTOMBED moniker: "It had to be done, because without an album you can't tour. I mean, you can tour, but if there's seven years between albums, it's ridiculously long. So we did the right thing, and we did what bands should do, and still do — release an album and go on tour and headbang and have a good time with friends, and that's what it's all about."

He continued: "There was too much bullshit — crying and whining about things. It's just ridiculous.

"[The name] 'ENTOMBED,' nobody can use it right now. But the lust for touring and playing music, it's what we do.

"Some people are comfortable staying at home, but then just step aside and let us do our thing. And sitting here, doing an interview, listening to bands, that's the way it should be.

"We added two letters, but it's still the same band — [only] without people that wanna stay at home, or take millions of years [coming up with] a [new] riff."

Asked if he thinks the ENTOMBED name has been damaged as a result of the drama surrounding the split with Alex Hellid and the decision to release an album as ENTOMBED A.D., Petrov said: "Nah, not really. A thousand people have a thousand different opinions — good and bad. But we do what we felt was right. And we're out here touring, and that's the most important [thing], I think. And leave the childishness aside and play metal, basically."

PHANTASMA Feat. DELAIN, SERENITY, EVERON Members:

PHANTASMA Feat. DELAIN, SERENITY, EVERON Members: 'Miserable Me' Video

The official video for the song "Miserable Me" from PHANTASMA, the new symphonic rock musical of Charlotte Wessels (DELAIN), Georg Neuhauser (SERENITY) and Oliver Philipps (EVERON), can be seen below. The track is taken from PHANTASMA's debut album, "The Deviant Hearts", which will be released on November 20 via Napalm Records.

PHANTASMA was born from the longstanding ambition to create a story-driven concept record of Georg Neuhauser, vocal force behind Tyrolean symphonic metal outfit SERENITY. He found his partner in crime with multi-instrumentalist composer, producer and vocalist Oliver Philipps (EVERON) who gladly embarked on this new mission that allowed him to reconnect with being a musician in the first place, as a welcome change from working for other bands, which he has done extensively over the years, providing the rich sound connoisseurs of the genre have come to expect from him.

As Oliver worked with DELAIN since their debuting record, a request at Charlotte Wessels's address was made to complete the dynamic trio of PHANTASMA. To introduce Charlotte Wessels to any connoisseur of symphonic metal would be like carrying coals to Newcastle — she is, after all, since 2005 the vocal figurehead of Dutch grandees DELAIN. It is therefore not only surprising, but also gratifying that Charlotte now even found some leisure time, to lend not only her voice to PHANTASMA but also her debut novella "The Deviant Hearts" —- which was written specially for the project.

Thomas Caser, Napalm Records vice president, comments: "We are thrilled to announce the signing of PHANTASMA which is one of the most exciting projects of the genre. Charlotte, Georg and Oliver have created a magical album and a fantastic concept and story to come with it. This is a must-have for all fans of this music!"

PHANTASMA states: "We have truly enjoyed giving a shape, face and sound to 'The Deviant Hearts'. It was an inspiring and exciting process and we can not wait to share the result of our efforts with you through the upcoming release with Napalm Records."

With PHANTASMA, Charlotte can let her beautiful and variable voice run free like the wind — sometimes tender like on "Runaway Grey", plaintive on "Let It Die", and the duet "The Lotus And The Willow" — makes Charlotte's passion for Nick Cave abundantly clear, matching even the intensity of "Where The Wild Roses Grow". Meanwhile, Georg's dedication to classic rock acts like QUEEN and MEAT LOAF shine through in tracks like "Crimson Course" and "Novaturient".

Giving a face to several characters in the story are noted guest vocalists Tom Englund (EVERGREY), who performs on tracks such as "Enter Dreamscape" and "The Deviant Hearts". Cloe Lowery (TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA) shines on the heart-wrenching ballad "Try" alongside Dennis Schunke (VAN CANTO) who can be heard also on "Carry Me Home". Georg, Oliver, and Charlotte themselves finish the vocal palette while the sound is completed by Jason Gianni (DAREDEVIL SQUADRON, NEAL MORSE BAND, TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA) on drums, Randy George (NEAL MORSE BAND, AJALON) on bass and Tom Buchberger (ex-SERENITY) guesting two songs on guitar. Video Premiere: RHAPSODY OF FIRE

Video Premiere: RHAPSODY OF FIRE's 'Into The Legend'

Italian symphonic metal kings RHAPSODY OF FIRE will release their new studio album, "Into The Legend", on January 15, 2016 via AFM Records.

The official video for the "Into The Legend", title track can be seen below. The clip was filmed at Video Est in Trieste, Italy with director Randy M. Salo.

Comments RHAPSODY OF FIRE keyboardist Alex Staropoli: "After two years of intense work, including composing and arranging, after seven months spent in four different studios, this huge and ambitious production is coming to an end. We are right now mixing the songs, going through hundreds and hundreds hours of recordings to make an album that will feature over 65 minutes of breathtaking music, an album that will gather and exploit the best elements this band ever had in a modern way, and to build a musical landscape that will have no equals in the world's heavy metal scene."

The track listing for the CD is as follows:

01. In Principio02. Distant Sky03. Into The Legend04. Winter's Rain05. A Voice In The Cold Wind06. Valley Of Shadows07. Shining Star08. Realms Of Light09. Rage Of Darkness10. The Kiss Of Life11. Volar Sin Dolor (bonus track; limited digipack)+ Video: "Into The Legend"

Check out the cover artwork below.

RHAPSODY OF FIRE in June 2013 "respectfully" parted ways with their American guitarist Tom Hess due to "philosophical differences."

RHAPSODY OF FIRE released a live album, "Live - From Chaos To Eternity", on May 3, 2013 in Europe and May 7, 2013 in the USA via AFM Records. It was made available as two-CD digipak and as limited three-vinyl set. The material (a mixture of old classics and newer tracks) was recorded on the band’s European tour in spring 2012.

Staropoli and RHAPSODY OF FIRE guitarist Luca Turilli in 2011 announced their decision to go their separate ways.

Due to legal reasons, Staropoli is continuing under the RHAPSODY OF FIRE name. Turilli, on the other hand, is making his efforts available under the RHAPSODY moniker (RHAPSODY OF FIRE's original name), in which he is joined by guitarist Dominique Leurquin, bassist Patrice Guers, singer Alessandro Conti (TRICK OR TREAT) and drummer Alex Landenburg (AT VANCE, ANNIHILATOR, MEKONG DELTA, STRATOVARIUS).

CAULDRON:

CAULDRON: 'No Return / In Ruin' Video Released

"No Return / In Ruin", the new video from Toronto, Ontario, Canada metallers CAULDRON, can be seen below. The song is taken from the band's fourth studio album, "In Ruin", which will be released on January 8 via The End Records. High Roller Records will make the album available in Europe on January 29.

Says CAULDRON frontman Jason Decay: “"We had a camera follow us around for a day, so I guess you could say this video is a day in the life of CAULDRON — on gig day, of course.

"After doing a couple of concept videos, we decided to strip things down and go bare bones on this one. Either way, we still seem to almost get blown up!"

Decay previously stated about the "In Ruin" cover artwork: "We wanted a basic, straight-to-the-point cover without going totally METALLICA 'Black' album; something that catches your eye when flipping through the record bin.

"I saw a decrepit and eerie looking statue hovering in a doorway upon the 'In Ruin' title. We expressed this to our friend Squid (who did the artwork), and I guess you could say it's a cross between 'Poltergeist', 'Alice In Hell' and 'Intravenus De Milo'?!"

For the CD, the trio returned to the Lincoln County Social Club recording studio in Toronto, where they recorded two of their previous albums, "Burning Fortune" (2011) and "Tomorrow's Lost" (2012).

Co-produced by Chris Stringer (RUSH, TIMBER TIMBRE), "In Ruin", is sure to deliver more riffs, more attitude and more modern heavy metal classics while laying waste to all of the genre's imitators.

"In Ruin" track listing:

01. No Return / In Ruin 02. Empress03. Burning At Both Ends04. Hold Your Fire05. Come Not Here06. Santa Mira07. Corridors Of Dust08. Delusive Serenade09. Outrance

To celebrate the album release, CAULDRON will embark on a U.S./Canadian tour with ENFORCER, WARBRINGER and EXMORTUS in January/February 2016

CAULDRON was born out of the ashes of genre-defining, critically lauded GOAT HORN, the band known for being heavily influenced by BLACK SABBATH, VENOM and JUDAS PRIEST that called it a day in 2006.

Since then, CAULDRON has released the "Into The Cauldron" EP (now long out of print), as well as three full-length albums: "Chained To The Nite" (2009), "Burning Fortune" (2011), "Tomorrow's Lost" (2012) and the "Moonlight Desires" EP (2014).

The band has toured the world with the likes of MUNICIPAL WASTE, DEATH ANGEL, NEVERMORE, DIAMOND HEAD, ENFORCER, and in the summer of 2013, were invited to play METALLICA's Orion Music + More festival in Detroit.

"Burning Fortune" was nominated for a Juno Award in 2012 while the video for the single "All Or Nothing" has been viewed over 460,000 times on YouTube to date and was featured in the video game "Rock Band".

Video Premiere: OBSCURA

Video Premiere: OBSCURA's 'Akróasis'

It has been five years since the release of OBSCURA's universally acclaimed "Omnivium" album. Now the progressive metal masters return with their strongest and most dynamic release to date. The aptly named "Akróasis" (Greek for "hearing" or "listening") draws on all the various elements of OBSCURA's signature sound and combines those qualities into a cohesive and mind-blowing whole.

The official video for the "Akróasis" title track can be seen below. "Akróasis" will be released February 5, 2016 via Relapse Records. The album will be available in CD, 2xLP and as a digital download. "With 'Akróasis', we produced our grand opus featuring eight songs of fluent arrangements, odd time signatures never heard before in metal, and the most high-end production in the history of the band," says OBSCURA founder and frontman Steffen Kummerer. "Without question, 'Akróasis' is the heaviest, most complex record we have made to date. We cannot wait to perform live again and bring this excellent music to stages around the globe." Produced by the band and V. Santura (TRIPTYKON, PESTILENCE), "Akróasis" is eight songs diverse enough to serve as a near-comprehensive introduction to all of extreme metal. Packed to the gills with virtuosic musicianship, compelling themes, and airtight songwriting, "Akróasis" will undoubtedly breathe new life into death metal, progressive metal and beyond. Founded in 2002 by Kummerer, OBSCURA caused a stir when it toured as support for the legendary SUFFOCATION on the band's European tour in 2006 and independently released its debut album, "Retribution", that same year. From its very beginnings, the band (named after GORGUTS' inimitable 1993 full-length) demonstrated an uncanny ability for blending different forms of technical, cerebral metal into a coherent synthesis of death, thrash and black metal merged with progressive elements. "Akróasis" track listing:

01. Sermon Of The Seven Suns 02. The Monist 03. Akróasis 04. Ten Sepiroth 05. Ode To The Sun 06. Fractal Dimension 07. Perpetual Infinity 08. Weltseele 09. Melos (deluxe vinyl bonus track)10. The Origin Of Primal Expression (CD bonus track)

BLACK STAR RIDERS Frontman RICKY WARWICK: Details Of Two New Solo Albums Revealed

BLACK STAR RIDERS Frontman RICKY WARWICK: Details Of Two New Solo Albums Revealed

BLACK STAR RIDERS frontman Ricky Warwick will release two new solo albums next year. "When Patsy Cline Was Crazy (And Guy Mitchell Sang The Blues)" and the beautifully acoustic "Hearts On Trees" will be released as a double CD on February 26 via Nuclear Blast Entertainment.

Ricky explains: "I really wanted these songs to come out.

"The album's been a long time coming and in fact we've even made two albums here; electric and acoustic.

"We've played with some great musicians on this album.

"I think that the BLACK STAR RIDERS fans will really dig this solo stuff too. [I am] so absolutely delighted to be getting it out there."

Ricky has revealed the artwork for the release, with one album — "When Patsy Cline Was Crazy…" — showcasing his electric rock and roll side. The other disc — "Hearts On Trees" — veers towards the more tender stripped-back songwriting, influenced by both Americana and, more importantly, his Northern Irish roots.

Ricky comments: "'Hearts On Trees' and 'When Patsy Cline Was Crazy (And Guy Mitchell Sang The Blues)' were written by myself and my good friend Sam Robinson. Both albums depict our experiences of growing up and coming from the Greater East Belfast area, not only experiences that have happened to us but historical references and stories that have been told to us by friends and family... in saying that both albums translate those experiences on to a global scale that hopefully anyone geographically can relate to." The release boasts an array of acclaimed musicians with guests such as Joe Elliott (DEF LEPPARD), Damon Johnson (THIN LIZZY, BLACK STAR RIDERS), Andy Cairns (THERAPY?), Billy Morrison (BILLY IDOL), Nathan Connolly (SNOW PATROL), Ginger Wildheart, Jake Burns (STIFF LITTLE FINGERS), Richard Fortus (GUNS 'N' ROSES, THE DEAD DAISIES).

When the conversation changed to possibly doing some touring to support this release, Ricky was on board. But he wanted to have a full band to bring these great songs to fruition on the stage. So, he contacted some of the amazing musicians he has befriended over the years and virtually overnight THE FIGHTING HEARTS were born. Tapping his old bandmate Gary Sullivan from one of his post-ALMIGHTY bands (SIC) to play the drums was a no-brainer. Gary had recorded all the drums on the "Patsy Cline" record and is an extremely talented musician. Next up was a call to his BLACK STAR RIDERS bandmate bassist Robbie Crane. Robbie was thrilled to be a part of it. Guitarist Mark Gemini Thwaite completed the lineup. Having previously played for such luminaries as THE MISSION and Peter Murphy, Mark added that special something that made the whole band gel.

To kick things off, RICKY WARWICK & THE FIGHTING HEARTS will be supporting Belfast's own favourite sons STIFF LITTLE FINGERS on their U.K. tour in February/March of 2016.

Ricky comments: "To be going on tour with STIFF LITTLE FINGERS is a dream come true for me, 'cause they're my childhood heroes, so I just can't wait to get out there."

DEF LEPPARD, METALLICA, BON JOVI Make Greatest Of All Time Billboard 200 Albums List

DEF LEPPARD, METALLICA, BON JOVI Make Greatest Of All Time Billboard 200 Albums List

For the first time ever, Billboard have built the Greatest Of All Time Billboard 200 Albums list. These all-time rankings are based on actual performance on the weekly Billboard Hot 100 (from its launch on August 4th, 1958 through October 10th, 2015) and Billboard 200 (from August 17th, 1963 — when they combined our two leading pop album album charts for stereo and mono releases into one all-encompassing weekly chart — through October 10th, 2015). Titles are ranked based on an inverse point system, with weeks at No. 1 earning the greatest value and weeks at lower rungs earning the least. Due to changes in chart methodology over the years, eras are weighted differently to account for chart turnover rates over various periods. Artists are ranked based on the combined point totals, as outlined above, of all their Hot 100 or Billboard 200 chart entries.

The “heavier” entries on the list include:
#25 - Def Leppard’s Hysteria
#31 - Pink Floyd’s Dark Side Of The Moon
#33 - Bon Jovi’s Slippery When Wet
#40 - Metallica’s Metallica
#45 - Pearl Jam’s Ten
#46 - Foreigner’s 4
#47 - Journey’s Escape
#62 - Iron Butterfly’s In-a-Gadda-Da-Vida
#65 - Guns N’ Roses Appetite For Destruction
#66 - REO Speedwagon’s Hi Infidelity
#92 - Pink Floyd’s The Wall
#95 - Asia’s Asia
#108 - Heart’s Heart
#118 - Nirvana’s Nevermind
#121 - Jimi Hendrix’ Are You Experienced
#133 - Whitesnake’s Whitesnake
#146 - Led Zeppelin’s Led Zeppelin II
#185 - Led Zeppelin’s Houses Of The Holy
#194 - Led Zeppelin’s Led Zeppelin IV
#198 - Led Zeppelin’s In Through The Out Door

JUDAS PRIEST: Video Footage Of Frankfurt Concert

JUDAS PRIEST: Video Footage Of Frankfurt Concert

Fan-filmed video footage of JUDAS PRIEST's November 18 performance at Jahrhunderthalle in Frankfurt, Germany can be seen below.

JUDAS PRIEST singer Rob Halford recently told the Q104 radio station in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada about the band's plans to record the follow-up album to 2014's "Redeemer Of Souls": "Well, you know, in rock and roll, you've gotta kind of strike while the iron is hot, and that iron has been burning hot for decades for PRIEST now. It doesn't show any sign of cooling off, I can tell you that. The cool thing about where we're at right now is, of course, having Richie [Faulkner, new PRIEST guitarist] with us and having gone through that first writing experience together [on 'Redeemer Of Souls']. We were so motivated to keep writing as we were going along, but our label had a time schedule for us to keep, so we had to put the brakes on and start recording the songs that we'd written. And with that in mind, we're raring to go again, and I'm sure there'll be another PRIEST record in the not-too-distant metal future."

Asked whether he feels that "the clock is ticking" on JUDAS PRIEST's recording and touring career, Rob said: "Yeah, the clock is ticking, [but] we’re trying to hold it back. [Laughs] But it's great, man. I've gotta tell you, this band is having the time of its life, and we're very excited to be back out on the road after a short break from our last show, in Wacken in Germany at the big heavy metal festival there in front of eighty thousand heavy metal maniacs. So we're still bringing the fire and the metal with us wherever we go."

"Redeemer Of Souls" was released in July 2014. The follow-up to 2008's double-disc concept album "Nostradamus" was billed as a return to JUDAS PRIEST's heavy-metal roots.

"Redeemer Of Souls" sold around 32,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 6 on The Billboard 200 chart.

SPOKEN Releases "Falling Apart" Music Video From Upcoming Breathe Again Album

SPOKEN Releases "Falling Apart" Music Video From Upcoming Breathe Again Album

US rockers Spoken have released a music video for their track "Falling Apart”, off their upcoming record Breathe Again, out December 11th on Artery Recordings. "Falling Apart" is the second single to be released from the album following the title track "Breathe Again" (featuring Matty Mullins of Memphis May Fire) which was released earlier this year. The album is available for pre-order now on iTunes.

Says the band: ““Falling Apart” was produced by Cameron Mizell and recorded at Chango Studios in Glendale, Arizona. The video was directed by Sam Link of Collapse Studios and filmed in Columbia, Tennessee at a graveyard for business signs. We were fortunate enough to have Trevor Sarver from The Wedding fill in for the video, which helped us out a lot because he is such a stud and has great hair.

“”Falling Apart” is about our past. We all have a one whether we like it or not. If our past currently affects our future, its no longer our past, Its our present which shapes our future. We can’t let our past define us, instead we need to set new goals and ambitions for our lives, free from the insecurities and doubt which cases us to fall apart.”

RATT – Drumheads Stolen At St. Petersburg Show

RATT – Drumheads Stolen At St. Petersburg Show

Ratt performed at Ferg’s Concert Courtyard in St. Petersburg, FL on November 6th and two drumheads were stolen after the show.

The band posted the following on their Facebook page: “The drumheads pictured below were stolen at the Nov 6th concert at Ferg's Concert Courtyard in St Petersburg, Fla. They were last seen after the show on the Ferg's RV inside a 25" flat cardboard box.

"There is a REWARD for any information leading to their return. Private message please.”

On November 5th, 2015 in federal court in downtown Los Angeles, CA, a ruling was made overturning Warren Demartini and his attempt to procure an injunction to prevent Ratt owner and CEO Bobby Blotzer from using and touring under the Ratt trademark. This marks Demartini's second try and denial on all complaints.

Four weeks ago Demartini was unsuccessful with an appearance in Los Angeles State court to get a temporary restraining order. This latest ruling will allow Blotzer along with the current Ratt to continue on tour with no further hinderance from Demartini.

Ratt’s booking agency, A.R.M Entertainment, have already booked over a dozen shows for next year, which will see Ratt perform the 2016 Re-Invasion Tour.

Blotzer states: "The choke hold misappropriation of power has ended finally.”

Next in line in the house cleaning is former Ratt bassist Juan Croucier, whom is being sued by WBS for two counts of trademark infringement.

Blotzer remarked: "Suing you's a dirty job, but I'm the man to do it.”

Current Ratt dates include:

November
29 - Vinyl (inside Hard Rock Hotel) - Las Vegas, NV (with Firehouse, The Baby's and Eric Martin of Mr Big)

December
26 - Hard Rock Rocksino - Northfield, OH

January

BRING ME THE HORIZON:

BRING ME THE HORIZON: 'True Friends' Performance Clip From New York City

Video footage of BRING ME THE HORIZON performing the song "True Friends" on September 15 at the Webster Hall in New York City can be seen below. iThe track s taken from the band's fifth studio album, "That's The Spirit", which debuted at No. 2 on The Billboard 200 album chart, selling 62,000 copies in its first week of release. The total number broke down to 55,000 physical copies of the CD and 7,000 streams. The chart and sales numbers were career highs for the British act, whose previous album, 2013's "Sempiternal", debuted at Number 11 with 27,000 copies sold — the group's previous career best.

"That's The Spirit" marks a surprising change in BRING ME THE HORIZON's sound and Oliver Sykes told The Pulse Of Radio how it came about. "Really, we were wrapping up 'Sempiternal', and we just felt like we'd progressed a lot just in that short space of time since releasing 'Sempiternal' and touring it, so, yeah, I guess when we finished the campaign, we just really felt like we had a big opportunity. Like, 'Sempiternal' really got us out to the public a lot more than the previous record and stuff, and it felt like people were waiting to see what we did next and people were really hungry for it, you know what I mean? So we just wanted to take the opportunity and really smash it out of the park, I guess."

"That's The Spirit" not only marks a change in the band's sound but also has a concept behind it.

Sykes explained recently: "It's a celebration of depression. A way of making light of it. That's the spirit — it's quite a depressing phrase when you think about it — the sort of thing you only ever use when you know there's no positive answer to the situation."

EKTOMORF Perform “You Can’t Control Me” On EMGtv; Video

EKTOMORF Perform “You Can’t Control Me” On EMGtv; Video

In the video below, Hungarian neo thrash masters Ektomorf leaves it all out on the EMGtv stage with this performance of “You Can’t Control Me”. Ektomorf shows off their aggressive music and lyrical content with lead singer, Zoltán Farkas, using his EMG 81-8X and EMG 85-8X to keep a tight low end on his eight string guitar. Tamás Schrottner rounds out the guitar tones with the EMG 808X. Keeping it all together is Szabi Murvai on the bass using the EMG 35DC bass pickups.

Ektomorf recently released a video for “Holocaust”, a track from their upcoming Aggressor album, released October 30th in Europe, and November 20th in North America, via AFM Records.

Following their Retribution album (which was released in early 2014), another successful headliner tour and numerous festival gigs, the band around charismatic Farkas now presents its new album. Continuing their no-nonsense philosophy, the title Aggressor is not misleading at all - in fact this new piece of work definitely is the band’s heaviest and most energetic to date. Also, Aggressor is a return to some old Ektomorf marks from earlier days, like the Eastern European gypsy harmonies and grooves, which give a special dark and unique atmosphere to the album.

Once again Ektomorf of course worked with highly-acclaimed Danish producer Tue Madsen, who is a stable part of the team and perfectly understands the musical visions of Ektomorf.

Aggressor tracklisting:

“Intro”
“I”
“Aggressor”
“Holocaust”
“Move On”
“Evil By Nature” (feat. George “Corpsegrinder” Fisher)
“You Can’t Get More”
“Emotionless World”
“Eastside”
“Scars”
“Damned Nation”
“You Lost”
“You’re Not For Me”
“Memento"

"Evil By Nature" lyric video:

Ektomorf are set to release their Aggressor Beer. A message from the band follows:

“Dear beer lover metalheads… here you go! The Ektomorf Aggressor Beer is done - thanks a lot to Marton Csupor at Csupor Beer! Soon it's available! And soon some cool things will come with our beer! Prepare - its a 12% alcohol beer! A real metal drink for real metalheads!”

Canada’s WILT Streaming New Album In Full

Canada’s WILT Streaming New Album In Full

Canadian atmospheric black / doom metallers, Wilt, are streaming their new album, Moving Monoliths, set for release on November 27th via Bindrune Recordings. Listen below and pre-order the album here.

"It has been a long road to get to this point, but we are finally here. We are absolutely elated to share with you Moving Monoliths. Our debut record on Bindrune Recordings. We put into this album both mentally and physically and we are really proud of what we accomplish. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do”, comments vocalist Jordan Dorge.

Moving Monoliths is a crushing feat that has been labored over for quite some time. By digging deeply inward, the songwriting core of this band has dredged the mournful depths of the self to unveil a unique glimpse into the human condition, for all its faults, heartbreak and despair. The results are impressive as Wilt skillfully unveils a wide range of emotion and atmosphere on these four lengthy tracks to effortlessly entwine the creative forces of black and doom metal to call their own. A fierce live entity in their own right, Wilt has broken the "studio project" mold to bring this quintet's jarring sound and fire to the masses as they are soon to embark on a Canadian Tour. Moving Monoliths is a fantastic debut full-length and we at Bindrune are proud to share this crushing entity with you all.

Chile’s LEFUTRAY Release New Album Oath; Streaming In Full

Chile’s LEFUTRAY Release New Album Oath; Streaming In Full

Chilean groove/thrash metallers Lefutray have announced the release of their third full-length album, Oath, the first for Sick Bangers. The new record unveils a more powerful and violent side of the band. Stream the album in its entirety at Bandcamp.

Guitarist Cristian Olivares was quoted as saying: "It is definitely an upgrade in terms of aggressiveness and speed - we are really happy with the result. I'm confident metalheads will dig it."

The fabulous artwork is by renowned artist Costin Chioreanu (Arch Enemy, At The Gates, Arcturus). The artist had this to say about it: "The illustration which I crafted for Lefutray's album Oath is telling the story of the moribund society we are living in front of human nature. At the same is a straight message to all people out there: is time to leave all our garbage behind, all our rules, all our masks, all our standards, all our hypocrisy and all the nonsense of this illusion which we created and named ‘society’. Is time to rediscover what we really are, no matter how painful can be the price for that, no matter how tough will be for our mind to learn a new system of values and to understand the existence of explainable which can be analyzed with the soul and instinct. Inside ourselves is the key, and the prison around needs to be eliminated. This is the story behind this front cover."
