SLAYER's KERRY KING: Longtime Record Label AMERICAN RECORDINGS 'Didn't Want Us' AnymoreSLAYER guitarist Kerry King recently talked to Louder Noise about recording the band's new album, "Repentless", why the group signed to Nuclear Blast after spending the last twenty years with American, and the crowd response to SLAYER's new music. You can watch the chat below. Excerpts follow (transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET).
On the writing process for "Repentless":
Kerry: "Well, me and Paul [Bostaph, drums], we were the only ones working on the music. You know, Tom [Araya, bass/vocals] don't get into that. And Gary [Holt, guitar] was off doing EXODUS stuff or being at home. I thought a long time about how Gary's involvement should be, and what I ended up with was, you can't have a two-guitar attack without two guitars. So he did lead on, like, seven or eight songs, I think. But, yeah, me and Paul worked together on the music until we got finished."
On switching labels from American Recordings to Nuclear Blast:
Kerry: "Nuclear Blast had a deal on the table, and being the guys me and Tom are, we said, 'We've gotta let American come to the party, see if they're interested.' That's just being loyal and being long-term commitment people; we're like that. We could have signed the Nuclear Blast deal on the spot. But we're old-schoolers and we waited for American, and American, you know… they didn't want us; you could tell by the offer. But we felt good about waiting, hearing them out and then jumped on the Nuclear Blast deal."
On performing three new songs during the recent Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival:
Kerry: "We're playing three. We open with one [the 'Repentless' title track]. I didn't know it was gonna pan out this way, but being that it's a new song and it's the first thing we do, people are just stoked that we're playing. And I don't know if they're listening, if they know it, or they're just freaking out 'cause we hit the stage, but it's electric, really. And then we go into stuff they know. And then we come back and in the second set of tunes play a couple of more [new cuts]. In the first week or so, it was weird getting that many new songs in the set, just because I haven't… I mean, sure, I played them on the record, but I may not have played — or I never did play — rhythm and incorporate the lead while I'm playing; that comes later, when you're recording. So, to rehearse it and then get on stage and go, 'Fuck! I'm supposed to be at the wah pedal. Fuck! I'm supposed to be over here.' I was a little bit of a fish out of water, and hadn't been that way for a while, 'cause we didn't have a record in six years. But it's like old-school songs now to me."
On SLAYER fans today:
Kerry: "It's still crazy. It's still infused with young kids, and that's where the anger comes from. But it seems like we have… There's no generation gap. It's cool for your older brother, your parents, your aunts and uncles… Like, SLAYER's a family thing. And not a lot of bands are like that. [BLACK] SABBATH's like that. Ozzy Osbourne doing anything is like that. And, you know, METALLICA, [JUDAS] PRIEST… Anybody that's got any kind of long career, especially metal, it's cool… there's no weirdness if your kids like the same music. It's like a big brotherhood."
"Repentless" will be released on September 11 via Nuclear Blast. 22

ANGELLORE - New 14 Minute Song "A Shrine Of Clouds" StreamingFrench gothic doom metallers are streaming the complete 14 minute version of their song "A Shrine Of Clouds", taken from the new album La Litanie Des Cendres. Check it out below:
La Litanie Des Cendres tracklisting:
"A Shrine Of Clouds" (13:46)
"Still Glowing Ashes" (10:25)
"Twilight’s Embrace" (9:28)
"Inertia" (6:24)
"Moonflower" (18:29)
The band recently issued the following update.
"At the moment, Angellore is also working on a very special bonus-track which will only appear on the vinyl edition of the album, to be released later this year. And apart from our dear Cathy, who already enlightened Errances with her bewitching violin playing and gladly accepted to participate on this new album, we welcomed another very special guest. More on that later!"
Just like their debut, Errances, this five-song album was recorded and mixed between July 2012 and April 2014 by Florent Krist (bass player in Cynic's side project Aeon Spoke) at EverTone Studio in France. It was mastered by Markus Skroch (Hel, Nattsol, Elane).
Commenting on the album’s production, the band said: “Creating La Litanie Des Cendres (French for Litany Of Ashes) was a very demanding process, but we can assure you that the result is worth all the efforts we put into it. And it definitely feels great to start anew with a young and welcoming home like Shunu Records. With their help, we will make sure we take Angellore to the next level. We can’t wait to take you on our new musical journey. The best is yet to come!”
Matteo Coppola Neri, founder of Shunu Records has issued the following statement:
“When La Litanie Des Cendres arrived on my desk I was immediately surprised by how these guys could, with absolute nonchalance, extend their music from the early-'90s doom to today’s most psychedelic post-rock, passing through the emotional gothic rock. Within Shunu Records we have a wide range of musical tastes, some of us prefer post-rock, some indie-rock, others progressive, but when we listened to the album we all agreed on one thing: Angellore’s language is universal and their music speaks to everybody, because it goes straight to the heart. We have rarely found records of such beauty.”

GUNS N' ROSES Bassist TOMMY STINSON 'Really Has No Idea What's Going On' With The BandTommy Stinson, who has been playing bass in GUNS N' ROSES since 1998, has told StarTribune.com that his status in the group is up in the air. "I reach out once in a while to that crew of people — a lot of whom are also my good friends — but I really have no idea what's going on," he said. "I didn't quit the gig or walk away from it. We just all sort of left it in [Las] Vegas."
The 48-year-old musician added that he looks back fondly on his time with GN'R lead singer Axl Rose. "I'll be honest with you: [Axl] was always very good to me, and it was always a really good gig," he said. "It wasn't necessarily the easiest gig, but it was always good. I have nothing but gratitude for it. If they got [the modern lineup] together again and wanted me to play, of course I'd have to think about it."
Stinson is planning on spending the next few months completing work on a new record for a 2016 release.
"I'm proud of my other records, too, but I feel really good about what's coming now," he said. "And one big difference now is it looks like I'm actually going to have time to put into it for once."
Rose is the only original member of GUNS N' ROSES still in the current lineup, which has toured intermittently since 2006 and played its second Las Vegas residency last year.
Australian tour promoter AJ Maddah earlier this week shot down rumors that a reunited GUNS N' ROSES lineup was being courted to headline that country's Soundwave festival next year.
The rumor got started when the owner of Cherry Bar in Melbourne appeared on Triple M radio Down Under and said sources had told him that the original lineup would play the Soundwave festival next year.
The fest's promoter, AJ Maddah, told Music Feeds, "It's been nice for me personally to share this fantasy for a few days along with the fans, but it is not happening."
Maddah added, "If a reunion does happen, it is going to take longer than six months for the band to be ready to tour. I think it'll take a hundred lawyers six months just to get the five of them into a rehearsal room together."
Rumors of a reunion have been flaring up since guitarist Slash revealed last month that he and Rose had reconciled after 19 years. 1

Video: KISS Frontman PAUL STANLEY Performs With RON KEEL's BADLANDS HOUSE BANDThe BADLANDS HOUSE BAND, the musical voice of Chuck Brennan's new Badlands Pawn entertainment destination, made their debut in true post-Apocalyptic fashion on Thursday, August 27 at The District in Sioux Falls.
The band, fans, staff and venue endured a record-breaking thunderstorm which caused major flooding and road closures throughout the region, and a power outage lasting nearly two hours. The hundreds of rock 'n' roll enthusiasts that remained at the venue roared when the power came back on and the BADLANDS HOUSE BAND took the stage.
"We stayed ready, and maintained our focus," said lead singer Ron Keel. "When the juice came back on, it was time to go to work."
The electricity remained on for the entire show, which featured plenty of flames, smoke, explosions, a drum riser built like the front of a train — and special guest appearances by Rock And Roll Hall Of Famer Paul Stanley from KISS and NIGHT RANGER's Jack Blades.
"The BADLANDS HOUSE BAND is really world class," Stanley stated after the show. "I was more than pleasantly surprised. When you say you're going to sit in with a band, you really don't know what you're getting into. It's great."
"I'm really proud of the entire Badlands team," Brennan said. "The band kicks ass, and our staff and crew really rose to the occasion. This is the first of many epic events presented by the Badlands Entertainment Group."
The concert was filmed for an upcoming TV special, and the first 500 guests in the door received a free BADLANDS HOUSE BAND t-shirt.
The band is led by frontman Ron Keel, the Metal Cowboy, and includes Midwest drum legend Rev Koller, guitarists DC Cothern and Doc Purcell, keyboardist Dakota Scott and bass player Geno "El Diablo" Arce.
The songlist featured classic rock 'n' roll anthems woven together to create a show filled with twists and turns, dramatic transitions, massive vocal harmonies and guitar histrionics. After the performance, the BADLANDS HOUSE BAND wasted no time resting as they climbed on board the tour bus and headed for their first road show the following night in Mankato, Minnesota.
"The Minnesota show the next day was the true test," said Badlands Entertainment manager Mike "Chainsaw" Findling. "It was a last minute opportunity, so there was no advance promotion and nobody knew who they were. Without the hype, the special effects, lights, no train and no superstar guests, the show still worked. Thousands of fans were singing along, even though they'd never heard of the band."
The group's next stop is in Moorhead, Minnesota on September 11 at Bluestem Amphitheater with HAIRBALL. They are also confirmed to perform at major bike events such as Biketoberfest (Daytona October 15-17) and the Lone Star Rally in Galveston November 5-7.
BADLANDS HOUSE BAND has just launched its official web site at BadlandsHouseBand.com and announced plans to headline the New Year's Eve concert at Badlands Pawn in Sioux Falls.

NICKELBACK's CHAD KROEGER And AVRIL LAVIGNE Are SeparatingNICKELBACK frontman Chad Kroeger and pop singer Avril Lavigne have confirmed that they are separating after two years of marriage.
Lavigne announced their split on Instagram Wednesday, writing: "It is with [a] heavy heart that Chad and I announce our separation today. Through not only the marriage, but the music as well, we've created many unforgettable moments. We are still, and forever will be, the best of friends, and will always care deeply for each other. To all our family, friends and fans, thank you sincerely for the support."
Us Weekly and E! News both reported on alleged trouble in the marriage in September 2014, with inside sources claiming that they were "not seeing eye to eye on a lot of things" and that Kroeger had "been going around L.A. telling people that they are divorcing."
Kroeger, who turned 40 last November, proposed to the 30-year-old Lavigne in August 2012 after dating for just a few months. The couple were married in July 2013 at a ceremony in the South of France.
NICKELBACK's latest studio album, "No Fixed Address", was released last November.
The band was recently forced to cancel all remaining dates for the 2015 "No Fixed Address" world tour due to an extended period of vocal rest ordered for Kroeger, who underwent surgery on his voice box. 8

AUTOPSY To Release 'After The Cutting' 4-Disc Set, 'Skullgrinder' LP In NovemberAUTOPSY is set to return with a double bill of unbridled horror this year on Peaceville Records.
First up is "After The Cutting" (due on November 13), a special limited release containing an expansive book penned by Dennis Dread recounting the career of the gore legend, featuring unseen photos and exclusive artwork, accompanied by four discs brimmed full of classics, new tracks and previously unheard rarities from deep within the band's own archive. This will be followed by the aptly titled "Skull Grinder", containing seven new tracks (also featured on "After The Cutting") and arriving on vinyl to coincide with this year's Black Friday on November 27 (CD to follow in 2016).
AUTOPSY commented: "We at AUTOPSY HQ are pleased to have the opportunity to once again torture your minds and ear holes through the medium of recorded brutality.
"The band went back to Fantasy Studios in Berkeley in late July to record a brand new release called 'Skull Grinder'. Musically, it's just what you'd expect from us; no style changes, wimpouts, sellouts, settling down or caving in. Add to that acknowledgement of the obvious, some of Wes Benscoter's sickest art yet to (dis)grace the cover, and you have a new sledgehammer to the bowels with no apologies offered whatsoever. "In case that isn't enough to bring the taste of bile into the back of your throat, let it be known that there is also a four-disc set on the way titled 'After The Cutting', packed with hours of horrifying music, cover art from none other than Kev Walker as well as an extensive book written by Dennis Dread, riddled with interviews, photos and other assorted uncleanliness. The release date for both of these monstrosities is slated for this coming November. More details are forthcoming..."
The "After The Cutting" four-disc set with book can be pre-ordered at this location.
"Skull Grinder" can be pre-ordered here.

MOTÖRHEAD Cancels San Antonio ConcertMOTÖRHEAD has canceled its scheduled concert tonight (Wednesday, September 2) in San Antonio, Texas — one day after the band walked off stage three songs into its performance in Austin.
A brand new message on the MOTÖRHEAD Facebook page reads: "As you might have heard, MOTÖRHEAD again had to abbreviate a performance due to [MOTÖRHEAD frontman] Lemmy not feeling well. This is a DIRECT follow-on from the altitude issues in Colorado, and clearly, Lemmy tried to get back at it too quickly. For this reason, MOTÖRHEAD will not play in San Antonio tonight, but the show will still go on with SAXON headlining. Lemmy will resume duties the moment he is PROPERLY rested and firing on all cylinders again. The legendary Motörheadbanger patience is much appreciated, and the band send their deepest thanks. More details will be released soon."
MOTÖRHEAD delivered only three songs — "Damage Case", "Stay Clean" and "We Are Motörhead" — at the Austin gig before Lemmy told the crowd, "I can't do it."
The latest MOTÖRHEAD walk-off follows a similarly abbreviated performance last week in Salt Lake City, where the band cited the high altitude as the reason behind Lemmy's inability to breathe. A show in Denver, at an even higher altitude, was scrapped the following day before MOTÖRHEAD ever took the stage.
MOTÖRHEAD's next concert is scheduled for September 4 in Dallas, Texas.
The band's 22nd studio album, "Bad Magic", was released on August 28. The CD was recorded at NRG Recording Studios in North Hollywood with longtime producer Cameron Webb. 2

DEF LEPPARD Releases First Video Teaser For Forthcoming AlbumDEF LEPPARD has released a ten-second video teaser for its forthcoming self-titled album. Check it out below.
DEF LEPPARD singer Joe Elliott told North Dakota's Grand Forks Herald that the band's new disc is just called "Def Leppard" "because that's what it sounds like. It doesn't sound like any one specific era of DEF LEPPARD. It's got everything. You'll listen and you go, 'Oh, that sounds like DEF LEPPARD,' or you'll go, 'That is LEPPARD, but it sounds a bit like LED ZEPPELIN or QUEEN but you can hear the AC/DC or the CROSBY, STILLS & NASH coming through.' We have not shied away from anything that's influenced us in our growing up periods of our life. Just because we've made the kind of music we've made doesn't mean to say we don't like all of this other stuff."
The album contains 14 songs and clocks in at 55 minutes. Elliott says he and his bandmates doing some last-minute work on it and plan to release it in October. It is the group's first studio effort since "Songs From the Sparkle Lounge" in 2008.
Although DEF LEPPARD is one of the great success stories in rock history, Elliott doesn't kid himself into thinking the band was built to last forever, admitting: "When you've been together for 35 years, we could split up in 20 minutes as soon as I finish this phone call because that could have happened in our last 20 years, but it didn't. We're realistic to realize that it all comes to a sticky end one day. Nothing ever ends well. When did you ever hear of a band who was having massive success and then saying goodbye to each other with a smile on their face?... We're really lucky — four members of this five-man group have been together for 32 years and this current lineup has been together for 23."
DEF LEPPARD is currently touring North America with STYX and TESLA. 2

Video: IRON MAIDEN's BRUCE DICKINSON Flies Fans To 'The Book Of Souls' Listening Session In ParisOn August 26, IRON MAIDEN singer Bruce Dickinson flew 150 lucky fans out to Paris, France from Cardiff, Wales, United Kingdom onboard a chartered Boeing 737-400 plane so they could attend a listening session for the band's new album, "The Book Of Souls", at the Guillaume Tell Studios. The aircraft was in an all-white livery with small IRON MAIDEN logos on the front of the aircraft and VVB Aviation markings to the rear. It is believed to be one of the aircraft that will operate with VVB Aviation on behalf of Air Djibouti.
An eight-minute video report on the journey — courtesy of MAIDEN's official YouTube channel — can be seen below.
Dickinson, who was recently given the all-clear after being diagnosed with a tumor on his tongue late last year, told the audience at the event: "Thanks to radiation and chemicals and great doctors and support of everybody on the planet, apparently [the tumor has] disappeared. I did ask where it's gone, and the doctor looked at me and went, 'Well, the body just sort of gets rid of it,' which tends to mean they probably don't know — they don't bloody know!"
Asked by a fan if "The Book Of Souls" will turn out to IRON MAIDEN's final full-length release, Dickinson responded: "I really hope that this is not the last album. I've had way too much fun making this one. I'm gonna have way too much fun and enjoy the next tour for a variety of reasons. I'm happily chatting to you and running around and leaping around or flying airplanes. And the next stop is gonna be a tour and some singing."
"The Book Of Souls" will be released on September 4, 2015 through BMG in the U.S.A. (Parlophone Records in the rest of world).
The band announced in May that touring plans to support the album wouldn't happen until 2016 to allow Dickinson time to fully recuperate after his successful cancer treatment.
"Whenever we do a new album, we always go out with a new stage show; that's exciting in itself," bassist Steve Harris said. "We always feel like every show is sacred these days anyway, and I suppose even more so now after the scare with what's happened with Bruce. It makes everything more important to us."
He continued: "'The Book Of Souls' is a really powerful album, we're really proud of it and we can't wait to come out and play new songs on the tour. We're really looking forward to it." 6

AVATARIUM: First 'The Girl With The Raven Mask' Studio WebisodeAVATARIUM, the Swedish metal project whose recording lineup includes Leif Edling, founding bassist and main songwriter of Swedish doom metal legends CANDLEMASS, will release its new album, "The Girl With The Raven Mask", on October 23 via Nuclear Blast.
The first in a series of video clips featuring behind-the-scenes footage from the making of "The Girl With The Raven Mask" can be seen below.
Edling states about the CD: "I think we have created something unique this time with AVATARIUM. The songs are more written to be just songs and there are some really nice moments on the record that I personally love... the straightforward title track, the beautiful 'January Sea', the riff in 'Ghostlight' and the groove in 'Run Killer Run'. The organ and the Rhodes piano are ridiculously loud in the mix at times; even Dr. Carl agrees [laughs], but i think it gives even more edge to the songs! I hope people will dig 'The Girl With The Raven Mask' as much as I do myself, and if they don't, it's their problem. A band can't deliver more than we have done here, so it is an album close to perfection! When an album is perfect... shoot me!"
Jidell adds: "AVATARIUM have been taking another big step with this album and I can't wait for people to hear the songs and to play them live on our tour in November!
"It has been a lot of work but also a great pleasure to be the producer of this album, I'm very happy with the result and I feel very proud to be a member of this powerful and talented band!"

In a recent interview with Markus' Heavy Music Blog, Jidell stated about AVATARIUM's musical direction: "We all have a few bands in common that we like. But we also want to bring in our personalities into the music. The songs need to be 'us.' But it's also the way Leif writes the songs. He's thinking about my way of playing guitar and also about Jennie-Ann's [Smith] vocals. He is thinking about how I could continue working on the songs and how Jennie-Ann could. Leif is a very clever songwriter. Another thing is the fact that Jennie-Ann puts so much effort and energy into the vocals. She wants those to become her own. She tries to put all the feelings and emotions into the songs."
Asked if he is feeling any pressure trying to follow up AVATARIUM's 2013 self-titled debut, Jidell said: "I don't think like that. Of course there is a certain pressure if you get such a great response, but we try to focus in what we want to do. We try to be as good as we can while staying honest to ourselves and our music. Our aim is to do another great album followed by another great album and to be able to tour in between."
AVATARIUM released a vinyl/digital-only EP, "All I Want", on November 14, 2014 via Nuclear Blast.
Due to his health condition, Edling was unable to perform with AVATARIUM at the band's recent gigs. Filling in for him was Anders Iwers from TIAMAT.
AVATARIUM's self-titled debut album was released in Europe on November 1, 2013 via Nuclear Blast.

Ex-MACHINE HEAD/SOULFLY Guitarist LOGAN MADER's ONCE HUMAN: Video Of Ft. Lauderdale ConcertFan-filmed video footage of ONCE HUMAN, the new band featuring former MACHINE HEAD and SOULFLY guitarist Logan Mader, performing on August 30 at Culture Room in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida can be seen below.
ONCE HUMAN's debut album, "The Life I Remember", will be released on September 4 via earMUSIC. The cover artwork for the CD was created by Seth Siro Anton.
When people think of Logan Mader, they remember the flying dreads, a flying V, and deadly volume, performing with the likes of MACHINE HEAD and SOULFLY. It's hard to believe, but it's been 12 years since Mader set foot onstage. Now an in-demand music producer/mixer who has worked with FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, GOJIRA and PERIPHERY, he had written off the performing part of his life and settled behind the scenes.
Still, something within him stirred. Former Roadrunner A&R chief and current Nuclear Blast Entertainment head Monte Conner sent newcomer and multi-instrumentalist Lauren Hart to Logan Mader for a production deal. A creative spark between the two forged the nexus of ONCE HUMAN, as Hart moved from guitars to vocals, unsheathing a throat-scarring level of vocal brutality that completely contradicts her soft appearance. Unexpectedly, the result brought Mader back to creative life as both artist and performer.
"The creative chemistry was so on fire and the music really spoke to me. In all of my years producing, I've never been so attached and excited about a developing project," Mader said.
He continued, "It's a mix of brutal metal and melodic epic, with cinematic textures. It's unique and really has its own identity."
Mader is not closing his studio doors for producing, however. "I can do it all," he said. The rhythm section of ONCE HUMAN consists of Damian Rainauld on bass and Ralph Alexander on drums; both are newcomers, yet are insanely talented.

Video Premiere: BULLETBOYS' 'Rollover'"Rollover", the new video from BULLETBOYS, can be seen below. Taken from the band's latest album, "Elefantè", the song helped drive the album to the Top 10 in the metal radio charts and has been a crowd pleaser during the group's summer 2015 tour.
The "Rollover" music video features voluptuous Playboy model Ivy Ferguson and plays off the dichotomous relationship between the artist who's married to his music while simultaneously trying to keep his best gal happy. The sparks start to fly during the band's live performance as the music and the tempestuous relationship reaches a fever pitch — all captured brilliantly by director Diego Negrete.
The BULLETBOYS are founding member Marq Torien (vocals/lead guitar), Nick Rozz (guitar), Chad MacDonald (bass) and Shawn Duncan (drums).
Released in June via Cleopatra/Deadline, "Elefantè" — the band's first studio album of original material since 2009 — was produced by Ryan Greene (ALICE COOPER, LITA FORD, CHEAP TRICK) and Marq Torien and engineered by Matt Thorne (TRAPT, DISTURBED). The CD was mastered in Nashville, Tennessee by Anthony Focx (MILEY CYRUS, AEROSMITH, SANTANA, BUCKCHERRY).
BULLETBOYS was one of the prominent bands in the flourishing Hollywood metal scene during the late 1980s, with numerous smash hits such as "Smooth Up In Ya", "For The Love Of Money" and "Hang On St. Christopher" off the group's platinum-selling classic self-titled debut and follow-up, "Freakshow", dominating both MTV and radio airwaves. 3

VOODOO HILL Featuring GLENN HUGHES: 'All That Remains' Track Available For StreamingFrontiers Music Srl will release the new album from VOODOO HILL, "Waterfall", on October 16 in Europe and North America. The third release from the musical alliance between Italian axeman and producer Dario Mollo and legendary DEEP PURPLE bassist/vocalist Glenn Hughes is the culmination of a 30-plus-year career for Mollo as a musician, songwriter and producer.
The "All That Remains" track from "Waterfall" can be streamed below.
Mollo's career started in 1981 with the heavy metal band CROSSBONES. He continued to develop his abilities with musical giants like Tony Martin (BLACK SABBATH), Graham Bonnet (RAINBOW, MSG), Don Airey (RAINBOW, OZZY OSBOURNE, DEEP PURPLE) and several others. With the first VOODOO HILL album in 2000, Dario, for the first time, had the chance to have a proper international release, while the follow-up effort, "Wild Seed Of Mother Earth", is probably the heaviest and strongest release ever from Dario. Both albums came out via the Italian label Frontiers, with whom Dario has built a strong relationship during the years. "Waterfall" came about as a result "of the most prolific and creative period I had in my entire career," says Dario. "I wrote and recorded more than 35 song ideas in a very limited amount of time, leveraging from all the experiences I gathered as a guitar player, writer and producer. This creative phase had a further development when Dario Patti (keyboardist, bass player and orchestra arranger) came into the picture. He brought the songs a new palette of sounds and some superb arrangements. I also wanted the songs to sound as fresh as possible, trying my best to preserve the feeling of the overall performances, so I used very old school recording methods, including recording acoustic drums in rooms with natural reverb."
He continues: "It was right in the middle of this creative spring that Serafino of Frontiers called me to see whether I wanted to finally work on a third VOODOO HILL album after all these years. He said Glenn Hughes was available in principle, so the next thing I did was to choose the 11 songs which I thought suited the project the best.
"In comparison to the previous albums, I wanted to have Glenn more involved in the artistic decisions, so I sent him the songs before the final mixes in order to have his advices on the final result. That was a precious process that brought substantial changes. For instance, on 'Last Door', where I literally changed the entire guitar riff to make it work better with the vocal melodies. In the end, the song was basically rewritten and dramatically improved.
"It was a fabulous creative process, which I am truly confident will last more than a bunch of listening sessions and will offer a lot of enjoyment to all those will want to follow VOODOO HILL in this exciting musical venture”. "Waterfall" is a strong and straightforward hard and heavy rock album which is equally split between aggressive and heavy moments and beautiful melodies. "Waterfall" track listing:
01. All That Remains02. The Well03. Rattle Shake Bone04. Underneath And Down Below05. Waterfall06. Karma Go07. Evil Thing08. Eldorado09. White Feather10. Sunflower11. Last Door
