P.O.D.: New Song 'Criminal Conversations' Feat. IN THIS MOMENT's MARIA BRINK (Audio)"Criminal Conversations", a brand new song from Grammy-nominated SoCal hard rockers P.O.D., can be streamed below. The track, which features a guest appearance by IN THIS MOMENT singer Maria Brink, is taken from P.O.D.'s ninth studio album, "The Awakening", which will be released on August 21 via T-Boy/UMC. The evocative album, produced by the band's longtime collaborator and friend Howard Benson (MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE, KELLY CLARKSON), features 10 tracks and special guests Maria Brink from IN THIS MOMENT and Lou Koller from SICK OF IT ALL.
Long known for carrying the hard rock torch with a positive message, P.O.D. are looking forward to sharing "The Awakening" with fans around the world. The album travels on a journey based on the good and bad choices of a central character, exploring the consequences of his decisions.
"'The Awakening' is meant to be listened to in its entirety," says P.O.D. singer and lyricist Sonny Sandoval. "Every song ultimately explores a character dealing with life, making mistakes, fighting, trying. But we also live in a singles-type world, and it works on that level, too."
Sonically, each track benefitted from the band's years of studio and stage experience. "I used to want to put as many tracks of guitar on the record as I could, because I thought that's what you did," says guitarist Marcos Curiel. "But as I've gotten older, I've realized that the more space you're letting in with all the instruments, everything breathes and has an energy and a vibe."
"'The Awakening' is definitely an evolution from where we've come from," says bassist Traa Daniels. "It's this amazing piece of art that we've been able to put together as four guys who are like brothers; this is really special."
"I feel this is like a pivotal moment for P.O.D.," says drummer Wuv Bernardo. "It's more than just, 'Man, we just went in the studio and did a record…' The urgency of our band, as far as how serious we are putting this kind of material in there and the way that we did it, blows my mind. I am proud of these guys, of us."
P.O.D. is Sonny Sandoval (vocals), Marcos Curiel (guitar), Traa Daniels (bass) and Wuv Bernardo (drums).
"The Awakening" track listing:
01. Am I Awake02. This Goes Out To You03. Rise of NWO04. Criminal Conversations (feat. Maria Brink)05. Somebody's Trying to Kill Me06. Get Down07. Speed Demon08. Want It All09. Revolución (feat. Lou Koller)10. The Awakening

Video: Former DRAGONFORCE Singer's I AM I Performs At U.K.'s BLOODSTOCK OPEN AIRFan-filmed video footage of I AM I, the band led by former DRAGONFORCE singer ZP Theart, performing at this year's edition of the Bloodstock Open Air festival, which was held this past weekend at Catton Park, Derbyshire, United Kingdom, can be seen below.
I AM I is continuing work on material for its second album at Abbey Lane Studios in Derby, United Kingdom. The CD will mark the recording debut with the group of I AM I's new members, Andy Kopczyk (guitar), Dean Markham (bass guitar) and Gavin Owen (guitar).
I AM I drummer Rich Smith told Derby Telegraph: "There were some issues with old members because of ZP's fame, but we're trying not to make a big deal of it."
He added: "The new album will include a collection of hard rock songs, progressive metal tracks, some soft ballads, too, that will appeal to everyone; it's a mixture of all sorts. It's good music in general."
Asked about the departures of I AM I members Jacob Ziemba (guitar), Neil Salmon (bass) and Andy Midgley (guitar), ZP told GetYourRockOut: "Ultimately, fans are there for the music, and that's the bottom line. And as long as they appreciate that and the music gets played right, then [that's all that matters]."
He added: "You have to have the hunger, and after all this time, I've still got the hunger. Everyone else doesn't necessarily feel the same way about it as I do, and there you go. Things move on. I'm out here to be onstage and do music, and that's all I care about. And I wanna surround myself with people that feel the same way. Onwards and upwards."
ZP went on to describe I AM I's new material as "very different. Ultimately the same, but very different. It's a bolder path we're taking, I reckon, and a lot of people are gonna be really puzzled and surprised at the same time. It's new energy. It's new people involved. So far everyone's [getting their ideas in]. We're actually sitting in a rehearsal room and coming up with riffs and working it out in the good, old-fashioned way."
Ziemba, Salmon and Midgley announced their departures from I AM I in February 2014 "due to internal struggles and ongoing issues within the band."
A founding member of DRAGONFORCE, Theart made four studio albums and a live record with the band and toured the world for a decade, eventually performing to audiences of up to 85,000 people. His time with the group also saw him nominated for a Grammy in 2009. After his departure from DRAGONFORCE in 2010, ZP worked tirelessly to put together his own group and, after catefully handpicking a set of musicians, the result was I AM I. A promotional single entitled "Silent Genocide" was followed by the release of a debut album, "Event Horizon", in September 2012.

Video: WARRANT Performs 'Cherry Pie' At HEAVY MONTREAL FestivalFan-filmed video footage of WARRANT's August 9 performance at the Heavy Montreal festival in Montreal, Quebec, Canada can be seen below.
WARRANT guitarist Erik Turner recently told rock journalist Mitch Lafon about the progress of the songwriting sessions for the band's follow-up to the 2011 album "Rockaholic": "There's a lot of riffs, a lot of laying down ideas on our home studios. I think Robert's [Mason, vocals] actually put vocals on a couple of demos — at least one that I've heard, maybe two. But it's a slow go with us when it comes to writing. We're really great at getting out on the road and touring and playing live. And we love all that stuff. I think it might be the challenge that we live in three different states, it might be the challenge that we play live so often that we don't have time to make a record. But there's definitely a lot of songs, ideas going around. There's a second option on Frontiers Records for us to do another CD, so there's a budget there when we're finally ready. But we're slowly but surely moving towards new music in the future — very slowly."
Asked if it still makes sense for a band like WARRANT to make a new studio album as opposed to just continuing to perform live, Turner said: "I think it does make sense to do it — not because, 'oh, we're gonna have a gold record and make a bunch of money.' It makes sense just in keeping the band in a more… I don't know what the word is I'm looking for. It's a marketing tool… Yeah, a new CD would be a great marketing tool, story to talk about WARRANT and keep our name out there. And, of course, we love making new music. We had a blast when we finally made 'Rockaholic'; it was a great experience, and we're really proud of that CD. As far as musically being satisfied, Jerry [Dixon, bass] and I started a company called Down Boys Music and we have a group of composers. Of course, Jerry is one of the composers, as well as I, and we're writing constantly and recording constantly for different television programs. So we're getting to play our guitars and create music weekly. And hearing them on different TV shows is gratifying as well. So, as far as playing and keeping our chops up, we're constantly … Between touring and writing and recording at home for television, [we're always doing something]."
At the helm for "Rockaholic" was mega-producer Keith Olsen (OZZY OSBOURNE, WHITESNAKE, SCORPIONS), while the mixing duties were handled by Pat Regan (KISS, DEEP PURPLE, TED NUGENT).
Former WARRANT singer Jani Lane suffered from "acute ethanol poisoning" when he died in August 2011 at a Comfort Inn motel room in Woodland Hills, California. The singer had battled alcoholism for years and also had a history of alcohol-related arrests.
Lane originally left WARRANT in March 1993 but rejoined the band in September 1994. The group went on to record the "Ultraphobic" (1995), "Belly To Belly" (1996) and "Greatest & Latest" (1999) albums and issued and collection of covers, "Under The Influence", in 2001. Jani quit WARRANT again in 2004 before reuniting with the group four years later.

COREY TAYLOR: 'It's Gonna Be A Few Years' Before SLIPKNOT Releases Proposed Double Concept AlbumSLIPKNOT singer Corey Taylor says that it will take "a few years" for the band to write and record its proposed double concept album to follow last year's ".5: The Gray Chapter".
".5: The Gray Chapter" was released in October 2014 following a six-year hiatus during which founding SLIPKNOT bassist Paul Gray died and original drummer Joey Jordison was dismissed. Since the CD's release, several of the SLIPKNOT band members, including guitarists Jim Root and Mick Thomson, have expressed hope that the group could record the follow-up effort sooner than expected, with Root claiming in recent interviews to have already begin compiling ideas for SLIPKNOT's next release.
SLIPKNOT percussionist Shawn "Clown" Crahan recently told BBC Radio 1's "Rock Show" that he would love to see the band record a double concept album in the vein of PINK FLOYD's "The Wall" and THE BEATLES' "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band", with a movie to go along with the project. He said: "I've been on Jim, and I'm just, like, 'Man, we've gotta write an art record. We've gotta write our 'Wall'… 'Sgt. Pepper's'… whatever you wanna say. And that's where I'm at. We've got so many records on our record deal. We've done five. I'd love it if we could do a double album, just… interludes… Have a concept, [and] maybe make a movie. I mean, things that have all been done, things that have all been done before, but… you know, our way, our interpretation. That would be a grand slam for the Clown. Don't get me wrong: we'd still do our thing. We're still gonna be SLIPKNOT."
During a brand new interview with the Albany, New York radio station Q103, Taylor stated about SLIPKNOT's plans to release a double concept album (hear audio below): "We're talking about it. [Crahan] and I and Jim have been talking about what would be next. And the idea that we had was to kind of come up with the concept and then provide the soundtrack for it. But then I told them the other day… I was, like, 'Let's take it even further and let's make our 'Purple Rain', let's make our PINK FLOYD 'The Wall'.' With a movie — not just the album, but do the movie… like, do everything. And they were pretty into it. Yeah, I mean, it's gonna be a few years before we even get into that, but just the fact that we're laying the steps for it now just means that we're right back to where we were, which is just being five steps ahead of the game."
As previously reported, Taylor said in a recent interview with RockSverige.se that SLIPKNOT will take a "couple of years off" after completing the tour cycle for ".5: The Gray Chapter". Taylor explained, "We're gonna finish touring and then we're gonna take a couple of years off again to let everything chill. I'm gonna go do my thing, [and] everybody else's gonna go do their thing... then, in a couple of years, we'll get back together and see what happens again."
Taylor's "thing" is STONE SOUR, which has two more covers EPs in the works following this spring's "Meanwhile In Burbank… Taylor told The Pulse Of Radio that he's written "about eight songs" for the follow-up to the band's 2012 double concept album, "House Of Gold And Bones". He said: "I've got a bunch of new songs, bunch of new music written. Everybody in the band has stuff. So we're gonna start kind of putting that together early next year, kind of just trying to get demos together to see where we're at. And then maybe in the fall go in and start making a new album."
Following the "Meanwhile In Burbank…" EP, STONE SOUR plans to release two more EPs of cover songs in the near future, with the first one titled "Straight Out Of Burbank" and the second called "No Sleep 'Till Burbank".
STONE SOUR's last collection of original music, "House Of Gold And Bones", was a double concept album released in two parts in 2012 and 2013.
SLIPKNOT's "Summer's Last Stand" tour kicked off on July 24 in West Palm Beach, Florida, wrapping up six weeks later on September 5 in Dallas. 6

BOBBY BLOTZER Slams JUAN CROUCIER For Using RATT Logo To Launch New ProjectRATT drummer Bobby Blotzer has slammed the band's bassist, Juan Croucier, for using the RATT logo to promote his new project RATT'S JUAN CROUCIER.
RATT'S JUAN CROUCIER, which features Croucier alongside Pete Holmes (BLACK 'N BLUE), Mike Moore and Toni Aleman, announced on Tuesday (August 4) that it embark on a series of U.S. dates in late September where it will exclusively play songs from the RATT catalog.
A few hours after RATT'S JUAN CROUCIER's formation was announced, it apparently caught the attention of Blotzer, who, along with RATT guitarist Warren DeMartini, owns the RATT name and logo.
According to KNAC.COM, Blotzer posted the following message on his Facebook page (reposted with all the original misspellings and grammatical errors): "Juan Crucifer, uh oh, trouble ahead. See that logo /trade mark on your press release, opps, it's owned , by me . Get that check book out my attorney not happy or price friendly for you. Ask Stephen, he can't remember much, but he can that. dumb and dumber remain, well, Dumber. Sorry Ratt fans!" (Note: This post has since been deleted.)
A few hours later, Blotzer once again took to his Facebook page, writing: "Hey ya know what, yea I was nasty, I was coming from a mean place. And I still am. Imagine, Warren and I own the trade mark. Did I use it for my band bobby blotzer Ratt Experience? No! But he just up and breaks the law and uses it? Come now, you would do what in my shoes? Today is not going to be fun in his world. I kept that logo for US 4 TO USE. PERIOD. Look at this. The drummer even copping my gig. It's pretty ballzy. I've exausted so much energy trying to get these kids to get along and play on the playground."
After people started commenting on Blotzer's last message, he added the following statement below his post: "I for the record, was extremely against Juans return, and it was behind my back excicuted by Steve and warren. I gave it a try. But I also gave them this warning, you guys are forgetting what a trouble maker juan was from day one. " he will break the band up" and that he did. I and Stephen actually got on really good. His problem was issue in ownership, or lack thereof that warren wouldn't bend on. Juan used his Jedi mind tricks, played double agent to gain ownership of the name for he and steve. Didn't work"
Blotzer recently launched a new project called BOBBY BLOTZER'S RATT EXPERIENCE, which performs RATT classics, including the band's "Invasion Of Your Privacy" album in its entirety to commemorate the record's 30th anniversary
BOBBY BLOTZER'S RATT EXPERIENCE is rounded out by Josh Alan (SIN CITY SINNERS), Scotty Griffin (ex-L.A. GUNS), Doc Ellis (Jizzy Pearl's LOVE/HATE) and 21-year-old guitar hero Blaze.
Asked how he feels about the fact that Blotzer has assembled the RATT EXPERIENCE band which performs not only the RATT hits, but also pays tribute to late RATT guitarist Robbin "King" Crosby, RATT singer Stephen Pearcy told "The Classic Metal Show": "The remaining members really don't understand… You know, anybody can go out and play RATT music in cover bands or however they [wish], but if you're out there taking advantage of…. You know, 'I'm doing a tribute to this guy in the band who's no longer with us.' Or, 'I'm gonna do this…,' you know. And then we hear an ad [for the RATT EXPERIENCE] and they're playing just RATT music with my voice. You know, it's like… Well, you can't do that either. So, in a nutshell, it's not cool. But the guy, he can make a living — that's not a problem — but don't take advantage of the situation and mislead people and be out there saying fictitious things. And other than that, it doesn't bother me. I still get paid." 3

Chicago Thrashers AFTERMATH Are BackAfter a two-decade absence from the stage, Chicago thrash metal masters AFTERMATH are back.
Formed in 1985 as a four-piece with the singular purpose of playing faster than anyone before them, AFTERMATH was one of the pioneering bands of the crossover genre with the release of their first demo (1986) and the seminal "Killing The Future" (1987). By 1989, with the addition of a second guitarist the band departed from their crossover roots and released their "Words That Echo Fear" demo. The four-song demo was a dark, complex, technical and progressive thrash metal tour de force. The band inked a deal with Big Chief Records in 1990 and began recording its debut. Unfortunately, the label went bankrupt during the making of the "Eyes Of Tomorrow" record. The result: a delayed release of nearly four years. By the time "Eyes Of Tomorrow" came out in 1994, the thrash metal scene was dead.
Celebrating its 30th anniversary, AFTERMATH is reissuing "Eyes Of Tomorrow" on Shadow Kingdom Records. The remastered version by Paul Logus (PANTERA, STONE SOUR, SATYRICON, STEEL PANTHER) along with an expanded booklet and revised cover treatment is scheduled for release this September.
"The record, sonically, is massive compared to the previous versions," states vocalist Kyriakos "Charlie" Tsiolis. In addition to this reissue, the band hooked up with Divebomb Records to release the group's first demo and "Killing The Future" on CD. Once again recruiting Paul Logus to remaster "Killing The Future" (2015), this version celebrates the band's roots and brings these early crossover classics to a new generation.
"During the past several years the thought of reuniting crossed my mind, but it wasn't until we received an offer to play Headbangers Open Air (HOA) and the reissue of 'Eyes Of Tomorrow' became real that I called the other guys," explains Tsiolis. They agreed to only reunite if the energy was there and the songs sounded as good as they did back in the day. Two minutes into their first rehearsal, they knew it felt right.
Having played its first show this past May as part of Ragnarokkr Metal Apocalypse in Chicago and just coming off its electrifying performance as part of the Headbangers Open Air festival in Germany on July 24, AFTERMATH is back.
A clip of the Headbangers Open Air performance can be seen below.

SLAYER's TOM ARAYA Says MAYHEM FESTIVAL Attendance Was 'About What We Would Draw If We Were Doing Our Own Tour'SLAYER bassist/vocalist Tom Araya has dismissed the suggestion that the band was playing to a smaller audience than usual as the headliner of this year's edition of the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival.
"We have a fanbase of about five or six thousand at every place we play, so the crowd that we [had] for Mayhem [was] about what we would draw if we were doing our own tour," he told Billboard.com. Besides, he added, "Everybody seem[ed] to be having a good time.'
Araya also praised fellow Mayhem main-stage performers KING DIAMOND, saying: "When we started as a band, we knew KING DIAMOND as MERCYFUL FATE and I was a big MERCYFUL FATE fan, I love their first two albums. I like him [KING DIAMOND singer and namesake]. He's different, but he's also part of the scene that we were part of, so we were the ones that chose KING DIAMOND [figuring] it would be a great bill."
The 2015 Mayhem Festival generated controversy earlier in the summer after festival co-founder Kevin Lyman blamed the event's low ticket sales on the fact that metal has failed to produce new and younger headlining bands, adding that "metal got gray, bald and fat" and "chased girls away." SLAYER guitarist Kerry King responded by saying that the problem with this summer's event lay not so much with the metal bands themselves but with the way the festival was organized. He told Metal Insider: "Do I know this tour wasn't booked correctly? Absolutely I know this tour wasn't booked correctly. [Fellow SLAYER guitarist] Gary Holt made the comment that usually there's the main stage, a second stage, a third stage, and then that piece-of-shit record stage… Now what they're calling a second stage is at best a fourth stage and they're wondering why people aren't showing up." He continued: "It's easy to fill these stages, but I guess they wanted a different price point, take away the second and third stage which I think had a lot of value. To me, a second-stage headliner is ANTHRAX, MACHINE HEAD…"
King told Unrated Magazine in a separate interview: "We did a show at the Eagles Ballroom in Milwaukee last year — it was us, SUICIDAL [TENDENCIES] and EXODUS — and it was sold out. We had Mayhem there four days ago, and it wasn't sold out. That tells you something."
Regarding the relatively low cost of the tickets for this year's Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival, Kerry said: "Nah [tickets are not that expensive], but they're expensive on this tour for bang for your buck. Because a bang for your buck… other than one band I know of on the second stage and a handful of main-stagers, you know, it's… This is usually where people would come out and just party all day, and they're passing on the party 'cause the bill's so shitty."
SLAYER's new album, "Repentless", will be released on September 11 via Nuclear Blast. 5

New ROB ZOMBIE Album Will 'Probably Come Out In March'Rob Zombie spoke to Louder Noise about why he has held back the release of his new album even though the record was completed months ago. Zombie said (see video below): "It'll probably come out in March, because what I wanna do is I wanna do a very large visual component to go with the record — shoot thirteen videos, or shoot a movie go with it. And because of [Zombie's upcoming sixth live-action feature film, a horror thriller called] '31', I couldn't get to that yet. So I'm gonna do that probably in January, so we'll put it out soon after that.'"
He continued: "I love it. I mean, I really like the record. The last record was my favorite record in a long time. 'Cause I had kind of hit a low with making records. It just kind of got boring; I hated being in the studio, and I kind of got reinspired on the last record. And this sort of follows up on it. So I think that, much like '31'… You just have those things in your career where you're, like, they all can't be the best one. With records, sometimes you have those moments where you can tell, 'This one's special.' And that's how it feels."
Zombie told Loudwire that the follow-up to 2013's "Venomous Rat Regeneration Vendor" was recorded over the course of a year, with the band working for a few weeks, taking a break for a few months, then coming back. He said, "We were living with it for a long time, and it really — I think it made the record so much better."
Zombie is currently editing "31", which is expected out later this year.
Although Rob spends a lot of time making movies, he told The Pulse Of Radio a while back he's not ready to quit music yet. He said: "People go, 'How long can you do this, how long do you want to do this?' I want to do it as long as it's fun, because that's what it's supposed to be. I mean, I don't need the money, so I don't have to drag my ass out on tour just to make money. I'm all good there, so if it's not fun, it's nothing, it's just stupid, you know. And when you're not having fun, you're not gonna do good work. You're gonna seem like a miserable guy who's just doing it for the money, and I just never wanted to do that."
The rocker-director's next feature film will be an adaptation of Steve Stoliar's memoir, "Raised Eyebrows: My Years Inside Groucho's House". The book tells the bizarre story of the last years in the life of Groucho Marx, told by a young Marx Brothers fan who spent those years as his personal secretary and archivist.

Video: BEHEMOTH's NERGAL Joins VENOM On Stage At Belgium's ALCATRAZ HARD ROCK & METAL FESTIVALBEHEMOTH frontman Adam "Nergal" Darski joined British black metal pioneers VENOM on stage this past Sunday, August 9 at the Alcatraz Hard Rock & Metal Festival in Kortrijk, Belgium to perform the VENOM song "In League With Satan". Fan-filmed video footage of his appearance can be seen below.
Nergal previously teamed up with VENOM frontman Conrad "Cronos" Lant, Jeff Waters of ANNIHILATOR, Mike Sifringer of DESTRUCTION and Florian "Specki T.D." Speckardt of IN EXTREMO on stage to perform a cover version of the MOTÖRHEAD classic "Ace Of Spades" during the infamous all-star jam aboard the 70000 Tons Of Metal cruise in January.
Nergal stated at the time: "Out of all the bullshit preaching by Christians, one is true: miracles DO happen!
"I remember when I was 8-9 year old kid, I'd be coming back home and instead of reading books, I would crank up [VENOM's] 'Bloodlust' real loud and do air guitar in front of the mirror.
"It took me 30 years to stand next to Cronos on the same stage covering MOTÖRHEAD!
"Yes, I am living my dream… And these words sooo defining my whole life: 'if you like to gamble, I'm your man, you win some, you lose some, it's all the same to me…"
BEHEMOTH's latest album, "The Satanist", sold around 10,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 34 on The Billboard 200 chart. 1

SLAYER's TOM ARAYA On MAYHEM FESTIVAL: Our Production Has Been Bigger Than We've Ever Done BeforeA two-minute video clip of SLAYER bassist/vocalist Tom Araya talking about the band's participation in this year's edition of the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival can be seen below.
"Our production has been bigger than we've ever done in any SLAYER tour," he said. "The last few times that we've done Mayhem, we invested some, but this one, we actually invested quite a bit in this one.'

WOVENWAR: 'Archers' Video Released"Archers", the new video from WOVENWAR, the band featuring the talents of Jordan Mancino (drums), Nick Hipa (guitar), Phil Sgrosso (guitar) and Josh Gilbert (bass) of San Diego, California based metal act AS I LAY DYING, and Shane Blay (vocals) of OH, SLEEPER, can be seen below. The clip was shot by Josh Knoff and directed/edited by Nick Hipa. The song is taken from WOVENWAR's self-titled debut album, which was released in August 2014 via Metal Blade. The CD was produced by Bill Stevenson (DESCENDENTS, BLACK FLAG) and mixed by Colin Richardson (SLIPKNOT, MACHINE HEAD, TRIVIUM).
Says Hipa: "Our video for 'Archers' is cut from live footage — filmed by Josh Knoff — from our recent hometown show at Brick By Brick. The lyrics heavily reference specific themes and songs from Shane's previous band (OH, SLEEPER) as a sentimental nod to how that chapter in his life was unforgettably formidable. With that in mind, it felt appropriate to create a visual edit captured from our venue in a room filled with quite a bit of family and friends… it kinda just completes the whole vibe as positively nostalgic."
In an interview with The Weeklings, Hipa stated about the name of the new band: "As human beings, there's a common thread that runs through us, and we have the spectrum of love and hate and everything in between; we're born exactly the same but as we age and go through life, certain parts of our character are cultivated, whether it's a belief system or whether it's a religious belief or a political belief, or prejudices or anything. Those are influenced by the people who are raising you or the environment you're reared in.
"We chose 'WOVENWAR' instead of 'WOVENHEARTS' or something like that because we had to go with the heavier-sounding one and that might sound superficial, but the idea is there."
Hipa also spoke about WOVENWAR's much more melodic vocal approach compared to that of AS I LAY DYING. He said: "When we were thinking of singers, we thought about who met our criteria who we'd want to be in a band with, almost immediately when Shane's name came up, that was it. There was no tryouts with other guys, or there was no, 'Okay, he's an option, let's see who else is out there.' This is somebody that's been my friend that half of my life, and somebody that the guys knew and that they respected as a musician and who we were all comfortable with. It was like he was already one of us, and he's such a talented guy, so let's see what we can do with Shane… He's just got a great voice and what he does best is sing, and we love that about him and we wanted to explore that, so that's what we did. It worked out extremely naturally because we didn't ask him to do anything that he didn't feel comfortable doing. We'd say, 'Here's some music, what would you do with this?' and he'd come back with all these vocal melodies. Immediately Josh hears those and has all these harmony ideas, so you've got two singers making the vocal presentation something that, if you take away all of our past musical endeavors, on its own, we felt it was awesome and that's what we wanted to develop."

Video: DEATH TO ALL Performs At ALCATRAZ HARD ROCK & METAL FESTIVAL In BelgiumFan-filmed video footage of DEATH TO ALL's August 9 performance at the Alcatraz Hard Rock & Metal Festival in Kortrijk, Belgium can be seen below.
The current lineup of DEATH TO ALL (DTA) — which features former members of DEATH celebrating the life and music of Chuck Schuldiner — includes Gene Hoglan (also of TESTAMENT, DARK ANGEL, DETHKLOK), Steve DiGiorgio (TESTAMENT, CONTROL DENIED, SADUS) on bass and Bobby Koelble on guitar. Max Phelps (CYNIC), who has been touring with DEATH TO ALL, is once again handling the vocal and second-guitar duties.
In a 2014 interview with Metal Rules, DiGiorgio was asked what DEATH TO ALL means to him. He responded: "Our formulated answer is that it is a tribute memorializing the memory of Chuck. To me, it means getting back with buddies. And you've seen their lineup change a little bit here, we had Paul [Masvidal] and Sean [Reinert] from CYNIC. We had Shannon Hamm in for a while. And now Gene and Bobby. I've jammed with all these guys over the years. They're pretty much some of the best musicians in the world. At least in my opinion."
He continued: "We did those albums back in the day, and when our cycle was over, and when whoever lasted however long, we went our own ways. Now we're back together again and it's cool, from my point of view, to do music with some of the best, amazing musicians/guys in the world. It's awesome. And we have a lot of fun every night, man, because we all realize that not only did we make a statement 20-something years ago, but here we are 20-something years later in our mid-40s playing that stuff as we did as young men. It's kind of, like, yay us. Because we are only just a few years off of 50 and we're playing this music we did just turning the corner into 20 and we're doing it pretty good. And that's not a brag. The reason is we push each other. Somebody falls a little bit behind and this guy's right behind him. You don't want to let your guard down, because everybody's really good at what they do. And that's what it means to me, man. It means to carry on what we did back then with no idea where we'd be in the future, and here we are doing it with conviction."
Chuck died on December 13, 2001 after a battle with pontine glioma, a rare type of brain tumor. 2

KAINE Announce New Bassist; New “Justice, Injustice” Track StreamingBritish metal revival band, Kaine, have unveiled a brand new song from their revamped lineup, entitled “Justice, Injustice”. Stephen Ellis (Drop Dead Fred/Failing To Fly) has joined Kaine on bass ahead of the preparation for the recording of the band's upcoming third album. The single will be released digitally via the usual spots of Spotify, iTunes, Amazon etc., while the album will be released on Revival Metal Records.
“Justice, Injustice” is a belting heavy metal roar, both in vocalist/guitarist Rage Sadler’s thrashing yell and relentless guitar leads from Saxon Davids and Ant Murch, while the thumping rhythm section inspires endless headbanging. The track was recorded and produced by Ade Hare at Threecircles Studio in Essex, England, where the band recorded their debut album Falling Through Freedom, and mastered by Z-Plane who worked on the band’s second album The Waystone.
Stream the song below:
Stephen Ellis commented on joining the band: “Kaine have been one of my favourite bands on the local scene for a while. Dan Mailer is obviously going to be a very hard act to follow as that guy is an insane bass player, but I will try my hardest to continue his legacy.”
Rage Sadler added: “I am extremely pleased to have Stephen joining us in Kaine and he’s already proven to be a perfect fit with the band both playing wise and personality wise. I am impressed with what’s he’s contributed to our new music, as well as the dedication shown by learning our back catalogue in such a short amount of time.”
Stephen Ellis will play his first official show on August 28th at the Firehouse in Southampton, followed by the Rock Den in Hatfield on the 29th and the Asylum in Chelmsford on the 30th.
