According to The Local, the sale of IRON MAIDEN's Trooper beer has been halted in Sweden by the country's state-run liquor store monopoly Systembolaget due to legal concerns over the skull and crossbones motif on the label.

"There has been a discussion about the label. The alcohol law stipulates how it can look. We therefore don't yet know when it can be launched," Therese Elmgren at Systembolaget told the Aftonbladet newspaper.

The label on the 4.8 percent-strength Trooper's packaging is taken from IRON MAIDEN' single "The Trooper", which was released in 1983.

"Trooper was the blindingly obvious thing to call it," IRON MAIDEN singer Bruce Dickinson recently said. "We have a tremendous piece of artwork — it's one of the world's most tattooed images. And it's like Spitfire. It's in the great tradition of British military prowess — well, military disaster in this case."

In 2010, Systembolaget suspended sales of the U.S. beer Founders Breakfast Stout over concerns about the use of a child's face on the bottle's front label.

More recently, in April 2013, a brewery in Denmark was forced to change the label on its Lust beer after Systembolaget deemed the depiction of a topless women to be too sexy for Sweden.

The Trooper beer was officially launched on Thursday (May 9) at Robinsons Brewery in Cheshire, with a reception attended by brewing trade representatives from both the U.K. and internationally.

As fans may have read recently, the unprecedented upfront demand for the beer meant Robinsons had to brew three times a day, six days a week for the first time ever in the brewery's 175-year history to cope with pre-orders in excess of 300,000 pints. Robinsons were overwhelmed by the number of enquiries they'd had from all over the world and sent the band a comprehensive listing of whereabouts the interest had been — from a staggering 184 countries.

Trooper is now available to order online throughout most of Europe, and Robinsons are working to ensure it will be available to the rest of the world as soon as possible.

Departing from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, this cruise visited the private island of CocoCay, plus Nassau, Bahamas with a rockin' bonus day at sea.

CINDERELLA frontman Tom Keifer was unable to make the trip after catching the flu which, left untreated, turned into pneumonia.

Shadow Kingdom Records has reissued the sophomore album from legendary Wichita, KS heavy metal behemoth MANILLA ROAD. Metal is a transition period for the band, one that saw them getting away from their progressive rock roots and moving more towards heavy metal - hence the title, Metal.

There are some amazing songs here and the production is very similar to their debut, Invasion. 'Cage of Mirrors' is easily the best song and if it had the Crystal Logic production it could have been on that album, which is considered by the majority of Manilla Road fans as their best album. The artwork for the reissue is what the originally had in mind for the album, but due to some issues, they released a more plain cover instead, which is now included on the back of the booklet; the choice of preferred cover is then left to the fan.

SEX PISTOLS co-founder and guitarist Steve Jones recently ended his radio show, Jonesy’s Jukebox, on Los Angeles, CA radio station KROQ FM so he could focus on his growing film/TV career, work on a new Sex Pistols release of archival performance footage, and develop his own podcast with details to be announced.

In the past year, Jones has had a recurring role on the last season of the Showtime series Californication, was the voice of a featured circus dog Jonesy in the Paramount Pictures film Madagascar 3 and is Russell Brand’s sidekick on the FX late night talk show Brand X with Russell Brand.

It’s been nearly four years since the last MAMMOTH GRINDER full length Extinction Of Humanity was released via Relapse Records (CD) and Cyclopean Records (LP). That album showcased the band’s direction into a distinctly death metal permutation, full of aggression and punk rawness. The band continued in this spirit on 2011’s split LP with fellow Austin, Texas-based HATRED SURGE. Now in 2013, Mammoth Grinder has found a home on 20 Buck Spin for the release of their wildly destructive third full-length album Underworlds.

The album is adorned with artwork by the legendary Joe Petagno whose work has graced albums from artists like PINK FLOYD and LED ZEPPELIN to MOTÖRHEAD and MARDUK.
20 Buck Spin will expose the damaging Underworlds on LP, CD and digital worldwide on July 23rd, and Mammoth Grinder shall tour extensively upon the album’s release. Rebellious Spirit were founded in summer 2010. Alongside brothers Jannik Fischer (17, vocals/guitar) and Jens Fischer (20, bass/vocals) are Silvio Bizer (18, drums) and Corvin Domhardt (18, guitar/vocals) complete the lineup. After a number of trial concerts, autumn 2010 saw them record their demo CD Heart Of Swabia featuring three original songs and three cover versions. In the meantime, the band has played more than 40 gigs, among them the Rock Of Ages, and have supported RECKLESS LOVE, KISSIN’ DYNAMITE and PUSSY SISSTER in Holland, Flensburg, Cologne and Munich.
Their debut album Gamble Shot, due out as digipak with three bonus videos, jewel case and download, was recorded at the Cubeaudio Studios in Göttingen between September 2011 and February 2012 , the final mix and the final mastering were completed in July 2012. A number of festival appearances are currently being scheduled for the summer, followed by a support tour in autumn 2013.

Croatian death/thrash metallers INFERNAL TENEBRA have announced the addition of drummer Sebastian Stell to their lineup. Stell played with grind-core band MERCENARY COCKROACH among other bands, together with guitarist Ivo Petrovic who joined the band in 2009.

Following the recent departure of Sandi Orbanic (2005-2013) due to personal obligations, the band sought a permanent replacement. After the first audition and rehersal with Stell, it became obvious he’s the best choice, and he was asked to join as a full-time member.
“We’re proud to have Sebastian Stell in our band”, says guitarist/vocalist Darko Etinger, “He’s an extremely talented and focused drummer, capable of bringing a significant contribution to the band’s sound.”

Stell’s first appearance with Infernal Tenebra is scheduled for June 7th, at Underwall Festival, Zadar, Croatia in support of bands such as XENTRIX, DESTRUCTION, MAX PIE and more.

Infernal Tenebra released their album, New Formed Revelations, on December 7th, 2012, via Massacre Records. The album was mixed and mastered by Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios in Sweden.

SLEGEST, the solo project of former VREID guitarist Ese, has inked a deal with Dark Essence Records for the release of the band’s debut full length album. No release date has yet been set, but it is anticipated that the album will appear world-wide towards the end of 2013.
Formed in 2010, it was the intention of Ese to create BLACK SABBATH inspired music with harsh vocals. An idea he took further, developing Slegest into the entity it is today, with its rock-orientated sound distinguished by a distinctive black metal edge. Slegest’s first release was the self-titled 2012 EP, which appeared as both a digital release and as a 7” vinyl on Ese’s own label Systrond Recordings. Work on writing new material for the as yet untitled debut full-length album began in 2012, and the drum tracks have already been laid down at the Conclave and Earshot Studios in Bergen, Norway.

Whilst many maintain that solo projects can be limiting, Ese sees things very differently. As Slegest’s main (and only) man explains: “When you have to play every instrument yourself it does impose certain limitations on what you can, and cannot, do. But I have always had a very definite vision as to how I want Slegest to sound, and these limitations are very positive for the fulfilment of that vision”.

Polish death metal veterans VADER will enter the studio in November to begin recording their new album for an early 2014 release. Songtitles set to appear on the CD include "Abandon All Hope", "Bring Them To Me" and "Infernal Poetry".

VADER's latest album, "Welcome To The Morbid Reich", was released in Europe on August 12, 2011 and in North America on September 13, 2011 via Nuclear Blast Records. The effort was recorded at Hertz Studio in Bialystok, Poland and features the cover artwork of Zbigniew Bielak (DESTRÖYER 666, WATAIN). The band laid down a total of 12 songs for the CD, which was mixed and mastered in May 2011.

JON OLIVA'S PAIN and SAVATAGE mastermind Jon Oliva will release his first-ever solo album, "Raise The Curtain", on June 5 via AFM Records. The 11-song CD, which contains ideas collected over the course of the last four or five years, was tracked this past winter at Morrisound Studios in Tampa, Florida with producer Tom Morris, with Jon handling laying down nearly all the instrument tracks and vocals himself as well as playing drums on three songs.

Last summer, JON OLIVA'S PAIN toured Europe where it celebrated the 25th anniversary of one of heavy metal's most iconic records, "Hall Of The Mountain King" by SAVATAGE. Ancient Roman-inspired death metal band ADE have posted a new lyric video for their brutal track 'Sanguine Pluit In Arena', which is off their latest offering Spartacus and features extreme metal drummer George Kollias (NILE, NIGHTFALL). Check out the video below:

True masters of music, Ade, formed in 2007, with the purpose of blending death metal with the traditional instruments of ancient Rome and Greece. Canadian power thrashers Sanktuary are premiering their first single 'Fire In The Sky' off their upcoming album Something Fierce and can be heard at this location.

The eight track thrash thrill debut will be released on Tuesday, July 2nd via Canadian metal label Spread The Metal Records.

Las Vegas rockers FALLING IN REVERSE will release their second album, "Fashionably Late", on June 17 via Epitaph Records. It's the follow-up to the band's Top 20 debut, "The Drug In Me Is You".

Since forming in 2008, FALLING IN REVERSE has racked up a fanatical fan base, so much so that the band's legendary videos have been viewed over 30 million times.

The attitude of the 1980s Sunset Strip, the bravado of battle-ready rap, the take-no-prisoners bottom end of metalcore and the boundless revelry of underground EDM parties have all beautifully converged in this one band and this new album. It's for everyone on Instagram, on Twitter, or anyone with a brain and two ears.

"My dad raised me on metal, but my first serious love was hip-hop," singer Ronnie Radke explains. "When I heard Dr. Dre's 'The Chronic', that's when I fell in love. I didn't know what the hell they were talking about, the beats were intertwined, and it came inside of me and took me over. When we added hip-hop elements I was thinking, 'Should I do this? "Bulls In The Bronx", the new video from the California-based progressive post-hardcore band PIERCE THE VEIL, can be seen below. The clip was directed by Drew Russ and was shot on location in Pasadena. The video finds the band performing their incendiary anthem live in a 100-year-old house as two young lovers meet in secret and are transported into a bull-fighting dream world only to have their rendezvous interrupted by an enraged father.

"I really wanted to have a story people could relate to, as well as have a fun supernatural element to fit the bridge of the song," Russ recently told MTV.com. "To me, this is such a standout song, and when the bridge hits, it almost transports the listener to another place. I really wanted to represent that on camera."

"Bulls In The Bronx" is the third video from PIERCE THE VEIL's third album, "Collide With The Sky", which has sold 121,000 copies since its July 2012 release.

The video's release comes on the heels of news that PIERCE THE VEIL's entire month-long "Spring Fever Tour" with co-headliner ALL TIME LOW plus MAYDAY PARADE and YOU ME AT SIX has completely sold out all dates, including the May 3 show at Sears Centre Arena in Chicago (7,000 capacity) and the concert in Los Angeles at the Hollywood Palladium (3,700 capacity), with combined tickets sold reaching over 87,000.

Norwegian black metallers SATYRICON will perform with the Norwegian National Opera Chorus on September 8 at Den Norske Opera & Ballett in Oslo, Norway.

A press release states: "Mixing musical modes of expression is always interesting. New sound pictures emerge, and when they are successful, new directions in style and genre are created.

"What would a mix of heavy metal rockers and singers with operatic training produce? Let's find out! SATYRICON recently entered the studio to begin recording its new album for a late 2013 release, Speaking to AOL's Noisecreep at this year's Inferno festival, SATYRICON frontman Sigurd "Satyr" Wongraven stated about the band's upcoming album: "To me, it sounds very authentic, it's organic-sounding. And in this digital age where music is mostly played through computers, a lot of that analog vibe gets lost in translation when you play music through medias like that, but I still wanna do it because there's nothing quite like it. To me, it just makes everything sound the way it's supposed to sound — it's dynamical; the music is alive, it's not overly compressed, the levels are not pushed. So, musically speaking, it's a very atmospheric record… This record is full of life. There are a lot of surprises here, but I think it's gonna be a record that's gonna help the black metal movement perhaps find a new way for the future."

The organizers of The Netherlands' Headway Festival recently asked fans to send their best questions for drummer Dave Lombardo (SLAYER, PHILM). You can now watch his responses below.

PHILM is the Los Angeles-based experimental post-hardcore triumvirate featuring Lombardo, guitarist/vocalist Gerry Nestler (CIVIL DEFIANCE), and bassist Pancho Tomaselli (WAR).

The band's debut album, "Harmonic", was released on May 15, 2012 via Ipecac Recordings.

Lombardo sat out SLAYER's recent Australian tour due to a contract dispute with the other members of the group. Also missing from the shows was the now-deceased guitarist Jeff Hanneman, who at the time was still recovering from necrotising fasciitis, a flesh-eating disease which he is believed to have gotten from a spider bite. Filling in for them were Jon Dette (TESTAMENT, ANTHRAX) and Gary Holt (EXODUS), respectively.

Asked if he will be sitting behind the kit for SLAYER when they return to Europe this summer, Lombardo told Greece's Rock Overdose: "I don't know yet. I hope to be there, but at this point, I don't know if I'm returning or not." He added. "I love my fans so much and they've been so supportive through the years; they've always been there. And their concern and sadness for what happened in Australia is more than I could have ever imagined fans to react. It's unbelievable. I just love my fans and I hope to continue playing for them. This is all I do. This is my life. I don't do anything else. I don't have a snakefarm, I don't have a farm with cows… I'm not like that. Music is my passion and my life, and this is all I do. So for the fans to be this nice and kind and concerned, I just love them."

Southern California's female-fronted hard rockers IN THIS MOMENT will professionally film their May 21 concert in Madison, Wisconsin for the group's first-ever live DVD. IN THIS MOMENT has partnered up with longtime supporter, radio station WJJO, as part of their Mayday Maylay concert series. The band has a bunch of surprises in store for this show including rarely played songs from their catalog and an all-new stage show created specifically for this concert. Also performing that night are special guests NONPOINT and GEMINI SYNDROME.

IN THIS MOMENT's DVD is being directed by Brad Golowin who is known for his work with MISS MAY I and 10 YEARS, to name a few.

IN THIS MOMENT singer Maria Brink told The Pulse Of Radio that before the band had a bigger stage production, she used to go out into the crowd and get the fans to form a pit around her. "I don't have to do it all the time anymore, 'cause now we have so much of a live performance and we're kind of upping theatrical everything onstage," she said. "But once in a while it's such an adrenaline rush. The other day I went out there and the funniest thing — I didn't realize it in the moment, but they told me afterwards that I said as I was walking through the crowd, 'Nobody touch me! I get anxiety!' 'Cause I spread the crowd open and walked through, and I said that! [laughs] And it works! I mean, they part the way!"

IN THE MOMENT has just completed the Road To The Golden Gods tour with STONE SOUR. The trek finished on May 2 at the Revolver Golden Gods Awards in Los Angeles.

The band has followed up its first-ever Top 10 rock radio hit, "Blood", with a new single called "Adrenalize". Both tracks are taken from the group's fourth album, also called "Blood", which debuted at No. 15 on the Billboard album chart and has sold more than 140,000 copies since coming out last August.

"Blood" was reissued as a double-disc set through Hot Topic last December. The special package contained the full original album on one disc, plus a second disc that featured a cover of the NINE INCH NAILS classic "Closer", as well as four additional new remixes of songs from "Blood".

Renowned drummer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Brian Tichy, known for his tours of duty with BILLY IDOL, FOREIGNER, OZZY OSBOURNE and WHITESNAKE, will fill in for Simon Wright (AC/DC, DIO, RHINO BUCKET) in the Geoff Tate-fronted version of QUEENSRŸCHE from June 2 to June 29.

Sass Jordan (pictured below), Tichy's musical partner in their band SOMETHING UNTO NOTHING (S.U.N.), has been asked to sing the duet in "Suite Sister Mary" as Geoff Tate and the boys perform the epic "Operation" Mindcrime" album in its entirety. To make it complete, Tichy and Jordan will open the shows with a 30-minute "S.U.N. Acoustic Stomp," which is Jordan and Tichy (on guitar and bass drum) as a duo.

Tichy said, "I am psyched and honored to drum in QUEENSRŸCHE and perform this great body of music! I am also stoked that Sass will also be singing in the show and we get a chance to hone our 'acoustic stomp' chops at the same time! This has blossomed into much more than I imagined!"

SOMETHING UNTO NOTHING's video for the song "I'm The One" can be seen below. The track comes off the band's self-titled debut album, which was made available in January physically, with distribution through Fontana.

Although a lineup for Tate's QUEENSRŸCHE was originally announced in the fall of 2012, things have changed. The band now features Tate along with bassist Rudy Sarzo (OZZY OSBOURNE, DIO, WHITESNAKE, QUIET RIOT), guitarist Kelly Gray (QUEENSRŸCHE 1998-2001), keyboardist Randy Gane and new additions, guitarist Robert Sarzo (QUIET RIOT, HURRICANE) and Wright.

Deadline Music/Cleopatra Records released "Frequency Unknown", the new album from the Geoff Tate-fronted version of QUEENSRŸCHE, on April 23. The CD was produced by Jason Slater at a studio in Northern California.

"Frequency Unknown" is packaged with bonus tracks — four QUEENSRŸCHE classics, newly recorded, including the smash hit single "Silent Lucidity". Guest musicians on the CD include K.K. Downing (JUDAS PRIEST), Chris Poland (MEGADETH), Ty Tabor (KING'S X), Paul Bostaph (SLAYER, TESTAMENT, EXODUS), Lita Ford, Brad Gillis (NIGHT RANGER), Dave Meniketti (Y&T) and Craig Locicero (FORBIDDEN).
