Cleveland metallers ALTERNATE REALITY have released a new video for their song "Metal Coma". This is the follow-up to the band's 2011 viral video sensation "The King That Never Was", which has been declared one of the greatest metal videos of all time and also was voted the No. 1 worst video of 2011 by Yahoo! Music, beating out such high-profile videos as Rebecca Black's "Friday".

"Metal Coma" was once again directed, edited, and produced by ALTERNATE REALITY frontman and Ohio lawyer Steve Delchin. It debuted exclusively on Friday, July 6 in front of a large crowd at the WJCU "Metal On Metal" 30th-anniversary concert at the House of Blues in Cleveland.

"The whole world was wondering what we would do to follow up our famous 'King' video," Delchin explains. "Would it be more castles? More wizards? More maidens? Well, we decided on a new theme that pays homage to old-school metalheads. [The] 'Metal Coma' [clip] was shot on location at the world-famous Ohio State Reformatory in Mansfield, Ohio, and features over 100 actors drawn from Cleveland's metal scene, legal community, and entertainment industry."

ALTERNATE REALITY guitarist and Cleveland State radio personality Bob Delchin (who is also an Ohio lawyer) highlights how several Hollywood blockbuster films have been shot at the Mansfield Reformatory, including "The Shawshank Redemption" and "Air Force One". Most of ALTERNATE REALITY's new video was shot in the facility's five-story-high west cell block that dates back to 1886 and is known for prisoners being thrown over the rails to their deaths during fights with fellow inmates, says Ron Puff, a volunteer at the Ohio State Reformatory.

The "Metal Coma" video follows the tale of old-school metalheads who are suffering from "an acute overexposure to heavy metals" and are locked up in "The Metal Sanitarium", a sinister asylum run by Dr. Overkill and his staff of nurses.

"ALTERNATE REALITY's new video is like the 'King' video, except on steroids," says Dave Overkill, frontman for the legendary Cleveland metal band DESTRUCTOR, who plays the role of Dr. Overkill. "Everything is more over the top."

"As always, the goal of our videos is to entertain, and I'm extremely grateful to all the volunteer actors in the Cleveland area who gave up their Sunday afternoon in April to be part of our video shoot. The response was overwhelming," says Steve Delchin.

"Metal Coma" features several luminaries from Cleveland's metal scene, including Auburn Records president Bill Peters, and members of such noted acts as BREAKER, DESTRUCTOR, MANIMALS, ETERNAL LEGACY, SOULLESS, VENOMIN JAMES, JJ GRIM, and BLACK DEATH. The video also features members of the Bloodview Haunted House in Broadview Heights, Ohio.

"I had an absolute blast taking part in ALTERNATE REALITY's latest video shoot," says Bill Peters. "My daughter Lily also has a cameo in the video where she delivers a blood-curdling scream in the halls of the Mansfield Reformatory. And the best part (thankfully) is that I wasn't asked to wear a wizard's hat like in the last video. All they did was lock me up in a 100-year-old prison cell!"

The Ohio State Reformatory is open to the public for historic and Hollywood tours and paranormal events, including "ghost hunts," hosted by the Mansfield Reformatory Preservation Society.

TANKARD's fourteenth studio album, "Vol(l)ume 14", was released on December 17, 2010 via AFM Records. The limited-edition digipak version of the album included a bonus DVD containing footage of TANKARD's performance at the 2009 edition of the Headbangers Open Air festival, which took place July 23-25, 2009 in in Brande-Hörnerkirchen, Germany.

"Sweet 16", the new video from AUDIO PORN, the band featuring HYDROGYN guitarist Jeff Westlake alongside Azriel St. Michael and Byron Black, can be seen below. The song comes off AUDIO PORN's self-titled debut album, which will be released in North America on August 27 via Super D Distribution and on August 31 in Europe through Music Buy Mail.

"This was a project that I just kind of fell into," said Westlake. "I had met Azriel while producing another band from Canada that Azriel is a part of called BLACK SUN. BLACK SUN had hired Az as the vocalist so we got to know each other during that process back in January and February earlier this year. One thing led to another and here I am in AUDIO PORN."

Westlake will be balancing his many duties — including HYDROGYN, AUDIO PORN and his studio and producing role which is a full-time job in itself.

"We basically have the second AUDIO PORN record already written as well and will be going into my Ridgeline studio starting the end of July through September to record that," said Westlake.

AUDIO PORN's next CD will not be released until the summer of 2013.

"We wanted to have a lot of music for people to find and be able to reference and not just have one single release to listen to for say two years," said St. Michael. "Between the three of us, we have a ton of ideas that have already been worked out and another album's worth of material so we want to release it right on the heels of this one in August."

HELLYEAH's third album, "Band Of Brothers", is available for streaming in its entirety at AOL Music. IWRESTLEDABEARONCE's latest album, "Ruining It For Everybody", sold around 5,300 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 80 on The Billboard 200 chart.

"Drug Of Choice", the new video from Los Angeles-based goth-metallers VAMPIRES EVERYWHERE!, can be seen below. "Drug Of Choice" comes off VAMPIRES EVERYWHERE!'s sophomore album, "Hellbound And Heartless", which sold around 2,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD landed at position No. 10 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.

"Hellbound And Heartless" was released on June 19 via Hollywood Waste Records. THE 69 EYES will film its first video in three years later this month in Gothenburg, Sweden with Patric Ullaeus of Revolver Film Company, who has previously worked with DIMMU BORGIR, LACUNA COIL, IN FLAMES, SONIC SYNDICATE and KAMELOT, among others.

To coincide with the new album release, THE 69 EYES will also launch its own vampire-style red wine, simply called as "Red," which will mainly be distributed in Sweden and Finland.

"Blood", the new video from Southern California's IN THIS MOMENT, can be seen below. The track is the title cut of the band's fourth album, which will be released on August 14 via longtime label Century Media Records. "Will It Always Be The Same", the new video from ONE-WAY MIRROR — the French band featuring Guillaume Bideau (MNEMIC) and David and Franck Potvin (LYZANXIA, PHAZE I) — can be seen below. The clip was directed by Matthieu Bichelberger and Stephane Keca. The song comes off the group's sophomore album, "Destructive By Nature", which will be released on April 16. The cover artwork was once again designed by plastic arts master Alain Tréhard at the Maria Hell Studio in La Rochelle, France. According to the Birmingham Mail, BLACK SABBATH frontman Ozzy Osbourne was named as the "greatest rock star in the world today" by the readers of the U.K. music magazine Kerrang!

In hailing Ozzy as the world's greatest rock star, Kerrang said: "In June he proved why he's the biggest musical star in the firmament. He sang like the devil himself [during an appearance at the U.K.'s Download festival with BLACK SABBATH]: wild power thundering from his mic."

Ozzy's SABBATH bandmate Tony Iommi also landed in the top ten, with Kerrang! magazine describing him as "a metal god with a backbone of pure steel."

Iommi was diagnosed with cancer late last year, forcing SABBATH to drastically curtail its touring plans and move the recording of the band's new album to London, so that Iommi could remain close to his doctors.

"Hell Or Hallelujah" comes off KISS's 20th studio album, "Monster", which is scheduled for release in October through Universal Music Enterprises. STATIC-X frontman Wayne Static is one of a number of musicians who have come out in support of LAMB OF GOD frontman Randy Blythe, who is facing manslaughter charges in the Czech Republic.
Blythe, 41, is accused of causing the fatal injury that occurred at LAMB OF GOD's May 24, 2010 show in Prague. The singer allegedly either pushed or struck a 19-year-old fan named Daniel N. — a guitarist in a local metal band — and that person died almost a month later of bleeding in the brain.

Randy has been charged with causing "bodily harm of the fourth degree, resulting in the death of a fan" and faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted.

Speaking to Loudwire, Wayne said, "I just heard about [Randy's arrest] actually, and I think it's pretty fucked up, man. I don't know all the details, obviously I wasn't there. But anytime at a metal show, fans are going to be going crazy. Apparently he pushed somebody off the stage and they got hurt and then died. It was an accident, man. That shit happens all the time. It's weird that they're trying to pin it on him."

When asked if bands have had to be even more careful since the onstage murder of PANTERA/DAMAGEPLAN guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell incident in 2004, Wayne replied, "We've always had to be careful. We had an incident back in 2001 where our drummer threw out a drumstick into the crowd and it hit someone in the eye and they were going to sue us. You just always have to be really careful with that kind of stuff. I know the LAMB OF GOD guys. They're way mellow. They're older guys like me and super mellow. They would never do anything to hurt anyone on purpose. It's just crazy."

According to Richmond Times-Dispatch , more than 100 LAMB OF GOD fans gathered on Brown's Island in Richmond, Virginia earlier today (Sunday, July 8) in support of the band's jailed singer Randy Blythe, who is being held on manslaughter charges in the Czech Republic.

"This really brings it home," said LAMB OF GOD guitar player Willie Adler, who made an appearance at the event. "It's nice to see all different walks of life here. It's not just long-haired metal fans."

Adler said the band wasn't ready to publicly discuss anything just yet but that its day would come soon.

"We're not quite sure what's happening now, so we don't want to do anything to jeopardize it," he said. "But we hope to know something, maybe in a week."

Adler's father-in-law, Harry Hopkins, told the Richmond Times-Dispatch that the entire band was met at the Prague airport by armed forces on June 27 and was taken into custody. After some discussion, U.S. embassy personnel were able to get four of them free. They were told to leave the country immediately.

"They're very upset about that," Hopkins said. "They would've wanted to stay with him."

The vigil organizer Tommy Streat, a friend of Blythe, told WWBT, the NBC-affiliated television station for Richmond, Virginia, "I know in my heart of hearts that Randy should not be in jail and the way he helps other people beyond the means most would go. I think it's ridiculous that he's in jail and I think we need to get him back on this ground in Richmond. And until he's here, we're gonna be his voice. We're gonna talk. We're gonna get loud. . . Randy's voice has been lost and we're getting it back. If it was Justin Bieber, everybody would be talking about it."

LAMB OF GOD set up a fund to help pay Blythe's legal expenses. A statement on the band's Facebook page reads, in part, "As many of you know, Randy is being held in Czech jail for a crime we believe he did not commit. We are still learning about the legal system there and the situation is fluid. We have retained local legal counsel, have support from the U.S. embassy and we are flying over additional lawyers to try and assure that Randy has the best representation possible. As many of you have pointed out, the simple fact is that the legal fees are adding up very quickly."

Aftonbladet journalist Mattias Kling conducted an interview with guitarist/vocalist Adam "Nergal" Darski of Polish extreme metal veterans BEHEMOTH at this year's edition of the Getaway Rock festival, which was held July 5-6 in Gävle, Sweden. You can now watch the chat below.

On how his battle with a life-threatening form of leukemia has changed him as a person:

Nergal: "I would say in many ways — too many to mention, actually… in numerous ways. It made me a better person, for sure. On a mental level, spiritual level… pretty much anything. Physically, I'm stronger than ever, too. It may sound controversial, but I would say that everyone should get cancer one day and learn from it, you know what I mean?! Obviously, I don't want anyone to get sick. It's more or less a metaphor for people to realize how much potential they can unleash if they want to, and [for them] to realize their potential."

On the progress of the songwriting sessions for the next BEHEMOTH album:

Nergal: "I can't tell you much, because there's not much done yet. There's definitely new ideas, and I would say we've got roughly five [song] skeletons ready. We wanna start working collectively [on new material] in the upcoming weeks. I'd say that September 2013 is a very realistic date for the release date for our next record."

On whether fans can expect to hear "the same BEHEMOTH" on the next album:

Nergal: "I don't know what you mean [when you say] 'the same BEHEMOTH,' because we've never really sounded the same on any record, you know what I mean?! Every time it was a huge challenge and every record sounds very much different, so I'm more than sure that this new one is gonna sound much more different than 'Evangelion' [2009] sounded from 'The Apostasy' [2007] and [on that album there] was already quite a difference, so I would say just be patient, wait and be surprised."

ATTIKA 7, the Los Angeles-based band featuring vocalist Evan Seinfeld (ex-BIOHAZARD) and lead guitarist Rusty Coones (famed motorcycle builder), has announced the addition of guitarist Zach Broderick (formerly with NONPOINT), drummer Tommy Holt (ex-UPO) and former KYUSS bassist Scott Reeder to the group's ranks.

ATTIKA 7's debut album, "Blood Of My Enemies", will be released on July 31 via Rocket Science Ventures/THC:MUSIC in North America and Membran/Ninetone in Europe.

Commented Evan, "Both Rusty and I feel extremely privileged to have found such killer guys and accomplished musicians to be members of ATTIKA 7.

"We can't wait to get out on the road and blow away audiences with our unique brand of melodic heavy metal.

"We have been enjoying working on the live show with Scott, Tommy and Zach.

ATTIKA 7 recorded "Blood Of My Enemies" with producer Mudrock (AVENGED SEVENFOLD, GODSMACK).

The bass and drum tracks on the CD were laid down by Tony Campos (SOULFLY, POSSESSED, STATIC-X, ASESINO, MINISTRY) and Devin Lebsack, respectively, but due to scheduling conflicts they were not able to make the required commitment to ATTIKA 7.

Dutch singer Floor Jansen (REVAMP, AFTER FOREVER) joined ADRENALINE MOB on stage last night (Saturday, July 7) at Matrix in Bochum, Germany. Fan-filmed video footage of her appearance can be see below.

Several days prior to the gig, Jansen stated about her guest performance with ADRENALINE MOB, "I will sing the DURAN DURAN cover 'Come Undone' with Russell Allen. On the [ADRENALINE MOB] album, the vocals are done by [HALESTORM] singer Lzzy Hale. She had the most amazing rock voice!!! I'm honored to sing it live!"

ADRENALINE MOB features in its ranks frontman Russell Allen (SYMPHONY X), drummer Mike Portnoy (formerly of DREAM THEATER), bassist John Moyer (also of DISTURBED) and guitar virtuoso Mike Orlando (SONIC STOMP).

ADRENALINE MOB's "Indifferent" video was filmed in March in the desert in California and throughout Los Angeles with director Scott Hansen, who has previously worked with A DAY TO REMEMBER, UNEARTH and WILLIE NELSON, among others.

"Indifferent" comes off ADRENALINE MOB's debut album, "Omertá", which sold around 6,600 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 70 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD was released in Europe on March 19 in Europe via Century Media Records and in the U.S. on March 13 through the newly formed Elm City Music in conjunction with EMI Label Services.

The 11-song effort — which was produced by ADRENALINE MOB and mixed by Jay Ruston, who has previously worked on ANTHRAX's "Worship Music" and STEEL PANTHER's "Balls Out" — includes a blistering reinterpretation of DURAN DURAN's classic "Come Undone" featuring guest vocals by Lzzy Hale of HALESTORM.

Dutch symphonic metallers DELAIN have uploaded a four-minute video clip featuring behind-the-scenes footage from the first leg of the band's "We Are The Others" European tour. Check it out below.

DELAIN's third full-length studio album, "We Are The Others", will be released in North America this summer via the New Jersey-based top-tier progressive metal label Sensory Records. Described as "the band's most powerful, most atmospheric and intoxicating album to date," "We Are The Others" was helmed by producer Jacob Hellner — renowned for his work with RAMMSTEIN, CLAWFINGER and APOCALYPTICA — while the vocals were tracked with the Epicentre team of Fredrik Thomander and Anders Wikström (SCORPIONS, BACKYARD BABIES).

At first glance, some songtitles on "We Are The Others" may sound mysterious and conspiratorial, but there is a very serious background: The lyrics to the title track were inspired by the hate crime against a British girl named Sophie Lancaster in 2007. She and her boyfriend were beaten comatose by a gang of youths, because of their goth looks, and Sophie later died from her injuries. This tragedy sent shockwaves throughout the world.

Commented singer Charlotte Wessels: "Sophie's story hit close to home for us, being part of a subculture ourselves but it's in no way an individual case; people are discriminated against — all the time, to the point of violence — based on their cultural or ethnic background everywhere.

"'We Are The Others' is our own 'outsiders anthem' for everybody who, deliberately or not, diverts from the norm. Whether it's by looking different, acting different, or choosing a different path in life then is expected from you."

The band, formed in 1985 in Los Angeles, California, released an EP, "Torture Knows No Boundary" (1986), and a full-length, "Breaking Point" (1988), through Metal Blade Records before disbanding. Later on the founding member, songwriter and guitarist Brian Korban together with bassist Dennis O'Hara formed REVEREND, which featured the vocal talents of the late David Wayne (METAL CHURCH).

In 2011 Brian Korban reformed the band, recruiting Julian Mendez, the vocalist who sang on the band's first EP. Soon they were joined by the seasoned musicians, long-time friends and collaborators, guitarist Glenn Rogers (VIKING, ex-HIRAX, ex-DELIVERANCE, ex-STEEL VENGEANCE and others) and bassist Angelo Espino (BITCH, ex-REVEREND, ex-HIRAX, ex-ANGER AS ART, ex-UNCLE SLAM and others) and a young, but talented drummer Ignazio Coppola.

ORGY, the reactivated "death pop" band from California, has entered NRG Recording Studios in North Hollywood to begin tracking its long-awaited new album for a tentative late 2012/early 2013 release.

In a recent interview with Icon Vs. Icon, Gordon was asked what the catalyst was for rebooting and moving forward with the project. "Ya know, it had just been too long," he said. "I was really interested in getting back out on the road. That was the first thing I wanted to do. It had been so long, I just wanted to get out there, brush the rust off and roll with it to see what happens. To do that you have to have a band and start playing gigs right away and that is exactly what I did."

On the topic of ORGY's new members, Jay said, "The new lineup is amazing! I don't plan on looking back, let's put it that way, they are that good. They are all amazing artists. Both guitar players, Carlton Bost and Ashburn Miller, came from DEADSY. The bass player, Nic Speck came from RUN RUN RUN. The drummer, Jamie Miller, is from SNOT and THE START. He is an amazing drummer! All of the guys are truly amazing performers and we get along great."

SCORPIONS spent the first three months of this year in the studio with producers Mikael "Nord" Andersson and Martin Hansen resurrecting a dozen unfinished songs from what some people believe was the band's best and most creative period — leftovers from the albums "Blackout" (1982), "Love At First Sting" (1984), "Savage Amusement" (1988) and "Crazy World" (1990) — for an album that is tentatively scheduled for release in 2013.

"We will dig in again and maybe have a selection of 16 to 18 songs and pick the best 12 from those," Jabs tells Billboard.com. "It's actually very good material." He adds, "We're doing it the way we are recording albums today, but the basic ideas, the riffs, the feel, the way they were written and arranged, we try to keep as much from the old recordings as possible. Thirty years later no one would come up with these ideas we came up with when we were younger, so we want to keep that spirit in there."

According to Jabs, the idea for the project "came from the fans. They were the ones saying, 'There must be some extra material from those days,' and they were right," he says.

The guitarist recently told ArizonaRepublic.com about the project, "There's so much strong material, but it hasn't ever been finished, especially the lyrics. They're like 'Blah blah blah blah blah.' It was recorded like you would record a demo, no click track, anything. But the vibe is great because it's from the time when we were starting out. Everything I played back then, I remember when I found a new riff, I would get excited. It's slightly different today because I know it all. I've heard it all. So it's much harder to get excited about the simplest or sometimes half-genius riff. But there was a definite spark in those old recordings and the idea is to redo them with today's technology and take it further as a tribute to the fans."

KREATOR's Mille Petrozza has issued the following statement in regards to the band's upcoming world tour:

"There's a lot of negative posts on here, like 'Why arent you coming to xy?'. For your information: The North American and the European dates are only the beginning of our world tour that will probably keep us out there for the next two years. There is a South American, an Australian, Asian, Russian and of course a UK tour in the making for early 2013 so keep your 'Fuck you for not coming to....' comments and be a little patient, OK?! Thank you. The Kreator WILL return!"

WHITESNAKE frontman David Coverdale has issued the following update:

"We are busily mixing and editing a live album and a separate in-concert DVD from the 'Forevermore' world tour, plus mixing an special expanded editions of 'Into The Light' and 'Restless Heart'. Plus archiving so much audio and visual material and content from so many years. But [we're] definitely not [working on] a whole new studio album at this time. Quite simply we wouldn't have time to write and record a new studio album. It was never on our agenda for 2012."

WHITESNAKE's new album, "Forevermore", sold around 12,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 49 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD was recorded, produced and mixed by Los Bros Brutalos (Coverdale, Doug Aldrich and Michael McIntyre).

WHITESNAKE's "Live At Donington 1990" DVD/live double CD set was made available on June 3, 2011 in Europe and June 7, 2011 in North America via Frontiers Records.

WHITESNAKE 1990 featured guitar greats Steve Vai and Adrian Vandenberg, bassist Rudy Sarzo, drummer Tommy Aldridge and, of course, incomparable frontman David Coverdale. Guitarist/vocalist Adam "Nergal" Darski of Polish extreme metal veterans BEHEMOTH has revealed to Terrorizer magazine that he has finally started writing material for the band's next album.

"I'm planning to sit down on my arse this summer, in a few weeks, and start collecting more riffs," he said. "We've written so many [riffs] already and we've got four or five songs that aren't completed but we have the skeletons of what just needs to be jammed out with band before going on the next record."

He continued, "We've changed our attitude with this album. We've cut down all the analyzing and thinking about the music. This album will be very instinct-driven and whatever comes out of our system will come out naturally on the record."

In an April 2012 interview with Metal Blast, Nergal stated about BEHEMOTH's next album, "We want to take our time and not rush ourselves in any way. . . It looks like it might be the most important album in our career. I want to make the most honest record and I won't be bending to anyone's rules or expectations, including [BEHEMOTH's record labels] Metal Blade or Nuclear Blast. Every next BEHEMOTH album is a surprise and is never the same. . . We don't want to stress ourselves because the music business and the direction it takes is not as I would like it to be. That means we will be going against the current again and just do as we will and please. Whatever we do is going to be BEHEMOTH, 100%. It is the state of our will and nobody can deny it. I can tell you that we aren't going to come out with a reggae or country album; it's going to be BEHEMOTH, it's going to be extreme. But don't be surprised if people listened to it and said, 'Fuck, they did it. It's so amazing.' [Laughs] That's what I like to say when I listen to my own music. I love to surprise myself. I hate things that are predictable. I want to surprise myself and surprise other people, as well. . . Don't get me wrong, I am a huge AC/DC fan and I expect AC/DC to be AC/DC, but don't expect BEHEMOTH to put out another 'The Apostasy', 'Demigod' or 'Evangelion' album, because that will not happen."
