SKID ROW: Pro-Shot Footage Of M3 ROCK FESTIVAL PerformanceProfessionally filmed video footage of SKID ROW's May 12 performance at the M3 Rock Festival at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland can be seen below.
The band's setlist was as follows:
01. Big Guns
02. Piece Of Me
03. New Generation
04. Slave To The Grind
05. I Remember You
06. Monkey Business
07. 18 And Life
08. Youth Gone Wild
SKID ROW's latest CD, "Revolutions Per Minute", was released on October 24, 2006 via SPV Records.
When asked in a July 2011 interview with SCTimes.com if the band has been working on any new music, bassist Rachel Bolan replied, "Actually, we are. Snake and I are writing when we get a chance. We've got about eight songs right now and we want to write at least 10 more and pick from that. I live in Atlanta and he lives out in Hollywood, so it takes a little bit of planning. We do what we can through the mail, but we never really feel right about something until we sit down in the same room together and write. I doubt that it will be out this year, but hopefully 2012. I gotta tell you, just saying that, 'in 2012'... When we recorded our first album in '88, I never thought we'd still be making records in 2012. That's pretty cool."
Bolan previously told Times-Standard.com about SKID ROW's forthcoming sixth album, "I think the next record, as far as what Snake and I are writing, is going back to what people would expect from SKID ROW. We're looking forward to it."
SKID ROW in 2010 parted ways with drummer Dave Gara and replaced him with Atlanta native Rob Hammersmith.
Rob spent many years touring and recording with Atlanta-based rockers ROCKETS TO RUIN and has performed with GUNFIRE 76, the band featuring MURDERDOLLS frontman Wednesday 13.

DELAIN's third full-length studio album, "We Are The Others", will be released in North America this summer via the New Jersey-based top-tier progressive metal label Sensory Records. CNR Entertainment will handle the release in The Netherlands and Roadrunner Records will issue the CD in the rest of Europe.
"We Are The Others" track listing (North American version):
01. Mother Machine
02. Electricity
03. We Are The Others
04. Milk And Honey
05. Hit Me With Your Best Shot
06. I Want You
07. Where Is The Blood (feat. Burton C. Bell)
08. Generation Me
09. Babylon
10. Are You Done With Me
11. Get The Devil Out Of Me
12. Not Enough
13. The Gathering (live)
14. Control The Storm (live)
15. Shattered (live)
16. Sleepwalkers Dream (live)
The lead single, "Get The Devil Out Of Me", hit stores on April 13 (April 15 for U.K.) to coincide with the start of the band's European tour.
Described as "the band's most powerful, most atmospheric and intoxicating album to date," "We Are The Others" was helmed by producer Jacob Hellner — renowned for his work with RAMMSTEIN, CLAWFINGER and APOCALYPTICA — while the vocals were tracked with the Epicentre team of Fredrik Thomander and Anders Wikström (SCORPIONS, BACKYARD BABIES).
At first glance, some songtitles on "We Are The Others" may sound mysterious and conspiratorial, but there is a very serious background: The lyrics to the title track were inspired by the hate crime against a British girl named Sophie Lancaster in 2007. She and her boyfriend were beaten comatose by a gang of youths, because of their goth looks, and Sophie later died from her injuries. This tragedy sent shockwaves throughout the world.
Commented singer Charlotte Wessels: "Sophie's story hit close to home for us, being part of a subculture ourselves but it's in no way an individual case; people are discriminated against — all the time, to the point of violence — based on their cultural or ethnic background everywhere.
"'We Are The Others' is our own 'outsiders anthem' for everybody who, deliberately or not, diverts from the norm. Whether it's by looking different, acting different, or choosing a different path in life then is expected from you."

Former MORBID ANGEL Frontman STEVE TUCKER Launches WARFATHERGreyhaze Records has announced the signing of WARFATHER, a devastating new death metal unit conceived by ex-MORBID ANGEL bassist/vocalist Steve Tucker.
In a statement on what metal fans are to expect from WARFATHER, Tucker stated: "This is my new band; it will be my main focus.... it is my kind of death metal."
Having been known for his vocal and bass skills in all of his previous acts, while still holding down vocal duties here, Tucker has moved on to guitar with this project. "I have always played the guitar and I think now is the time for me to make the move. I think doing solos and extra guitar parts will allow me to express myself in a whole new way!" he said. Also on guitars is Armatura, formerly of Cincinnati-based death metal band DOMINION. Recruited to the drum kit is Deimos, a death metal veteran currently playing in the band TEMPLE and also having played with bands such as SEVERE TORTURE. The bass is dispatched by Nick McMaster (KRALLICE, NADER SADEK, CASTEVET). Additional guitar contributions will be tracked by friends of WARFATHER, which include many notable death metal stalwarts; full details will be announced shortly.
WARFATHER is currently in the final stages of tracking the yet-to-be-titled album, with mixing to take place immediately after. Tucker himself is producing the entire release, as he did for the 2011-released NADER SADEK album "In the Flesh", which Tucker also performed on. The artwork is in the final stages as well, and will be unveiled shortly, along with the details on the album, which is being slated for release this fall. Upon the CD's release, WARFATHER will take their battle to the highways of the planet on tour in support of the album.
After starting out as vocalist/bassist for death/thrash act CEREMONY, Steve Tucker moved on to handle bass and vocals on MORBID ANGEL's infamous "Formulas Fatal To The Flesh", "Gateways To Annihilation" and "Heretic" LPs. In 2009, Tucker was recruited to take part in the NADER SADEK album "In The Flesh" for release through then-brand-new label Greyhaze Records, and licensed to Season of Mist Records. The project also featured Flo Mounier (CRYPTOPSY), Rune Eriksen (MAYHEM, AVA INFERI) and more. During this time, Tucker struck up a great relationship with Greyhaze Records, and together they decided to bring the reality of WARFATHER to fruition.

MORGOTH: 'Cursed To Live' DVD Preview AvailableResurrected German death metallers MORGOTH will release their first-ever live album and DVD, "Cursed To Live", on June 25 via Century Media Records. The audio tracks were mixed at Unisound Studio in Sweden with Dan Swanö (OPETH, KATATONIA, DISSECTION).
"Cursed To Live" is the documentation of MORGOTH's ongoing 20th-anniversary celebration of the band's all-time classic album "Cursed" (released by Century Media Records in 1991). It will be released on CD, a limited DVD+2CD as well as a limited deluxe 2LP. The live show featured on the album was recorded at the band's triumphant show headlining Way Of Darkness festival 2011, at which MORGOTH performed an extensive set of 15 songs, with the main focus on the songs off "Cursed". The cover artwork — with an intentional nod to the original "Cursed" art — was designed by the renowned artist Dirk Rudolph (RAMMSTEIN, IN EXTREMO, APOCALYPTICA), who had also created the original artwork for "Cursed" 21 years ago.
Commented MORGOTH: "By the end of June, we will be finally releasing our career's first-ever official live DVD/live album, 'Cursed To Live'. Get ready for the full power of MORGOTH during the 2011/2012 'Cursed' reunion! The package’s main show is a 70 min. live recording of the Way Of Darkness festival show that we played on October 7th, 2011 in Lichtenfels, Germany. Next to this main feature, we also added plenty of extra bonus material for the DVD format (like the early, original promo clips and more recent live footage) and its companion bonus disc (composed of live songs from Rock Hard Festival and Wacken Open Air, both in 2011). There will even be a gatefold 2LP release of the live album, so this is all sounding and looking really cool…Watch out!"
"22 years ago I proudly wore a MORGOTH t-shirt on the group-photo for the first EDGE OF SANITY album," Dan said. "Any metalhead knows that for the really important photos, you only wear what you truly worship!!! Sometime during the mix sessions of the live material I had to pinch my arm to make sure I wasn't dreaming! It's always a great vibe when something in your life comes 'full circle,' and this is one of those moments for me!"
A performance clip of the song "Isolated" taken from the "Cursed To Live" DVD can be seen below.
MORGOTH will return to North American ground by appearing at Baltimore's acclaimed Maryland Deathfest on May 27. Furthermore, the band will perform at Neurotic Deathfest (The Netherlands), Brutal Assault (Czech Republic) as well as the following events in Germany: Winternachtstraum (Arnsberg), Walpurgis Metal Dayz (Passau), Rock Harz (Ballenstedt) and Summer Breeze (Dinkelsbühl).
For a complete list of dates, visit the band's Facebook page.
MORGOTH is:
Marc Grewe - Vocals

SLAYER Drummer's PHILM: Entire Debut Album Available For Streaming"Harmonic", the debut album from PHILM — the Los Angeles-based experimental post-hardcore triumvirate featuring drummer Dave Lombardo (SLAYER), guitarist/vocalist Gerry Nestler (CIVIL DEFIANCE), and bassist Pancho Tomaselli (WAR) — is available for streaming in its entirety at AOL Music. The CD will be released on May 15 via Ipecac Recordings.
"Harmonic" track listing:
01. Vitriolize
02. Mitch
03. Hun
04. Area
05. Way Down
06. Harmonic
07. Exuberance
08. Sex Amp
09. Amoniac
10. Held In Light
11. Dome
12. Killion
13. Mezzanine
14. Mild
15. Meditation
PHILM will play a special CD-release show on May 15 at The Viper Room in West Hollywood, California.
For more information, visit the PHILM Facebook page.
PHILM will give a free webcast performance on May 16 at 7 p.m. Pacific/10 p.m. Eastern, recorded at Bob Weir's TRI Studios and streamed directly via TriStudios.com and Yahoo! Music.
Viewers of the webcast can tweet along with the audience on Twitter by using #PHILMLive.
"When people hear about my involvement in PHILM, they automatically assume that it will compare to SLAYER's sound," explains Lombardo. "They couldn't be more different. I have scaled down my drum set to a four-piece, reminiscent of the drummers from the late '60s that influenced me. Each song is unique in itself, I like to refer to it as 'rhythmic emotion.' It's almost like taking all the heavy songs of the '60s and bringing that era to a modern plateau, then blending them with the modern trance and psychedelic sounds of today."
"We decided to record 'Harmonic' in the intimate setting of a home, with various vintage recording equipment," says Lombardo on the band's debut album. "The music was written collectively in an improvisational manner, unlike the majority of recordings I've done before. This was very important given this is my first recording where I'm carrying the title of producer and performer. The album achieves a dense, unholy convergence of tones and discords. We also touch on haunting, desolate, ambient sounds. Our music tends to be written in a manner where we never know the outcome until we listen back to what we recorded. A harmonic journey."
While there are elements of metal detected throughout PHILM's sound, the band manages to also incorporate such other styles as jazz, ambient, hardcore punk, experimental, and funk into its unpredictable, cacophony-heavy style. An obvious reason for this multi-genre amalgamation can be directly linked to the gentlemen that play alongside Lombardo in PHILM — Tomaselli is a longtime member of funk rockers WAR, and Nestler fronts prog metallists CIVIL DEFIANCE. Add it all up, and you get the wonderful world of PHILM.
Ipecac Recordings is the brainchild of Greg Werckman (former label manager for the legendary punk label Alternative Tentacles) and FAITH NO MORE singer Mike Patton, who played with Lombardo in the eclectic supergroup FANTÔMAS.

REX BROWN On Rumors Of PANTERA Reunion With ZAKK WYLDE: 'You Can't Replace My Brother'Jay Nanda of the San Antonio Metal Music Examiner recently conducted an interview with bassist Rex Brown (KILL DEVIL HILL, PANTERA, DOWN). An excerpt from the chat follows below.
San Antonio Metal Music Examiner: Congrats on the 20th anniversary of [PANTERA's] "Vulgar Display Of Power". The CD/DVD [reissue] comes out the day before you guys play here and includes a 1992 show from Italy. Anything you remember from that show or period of time?
Rex: That was the first time I met [then-BLACK SABBATH members] Vinny [Appice] and Ronnie James Dio. Ya gotta remember, we're just four guys from Texas. Before their set, we smoked one, and me and Phil [Anselmo, former PANTERA singer] sat behind Geezer's [Butler, SABBATH bassist] rig and watched Vinny play. You've got Geezer on your back, and that was cool as shit. It's funny it's come full circle 20 years later, and weird that it's coming out, and me and Vinny are playing [here] the next day [with KILL DEVIL HILL]. It's weird, isn't it?
San Antonio Metal Music Examiner: I'll ask you something I asked Phil last September: Which song off that album best epitomizes what PANTERA stood for?
Rex: Oh, Lord. Shit, let me brush the cobwebs out of my head. There are so many on that record that are standout tracks. I don't know. For diversity, I would say something like "Hollow". The crushing end of that song, very mellow at the start. Or you have the crushing "Fucking Hostile". Even though it says "fucking" in it, it was still a hook. That whole record, I don't know, now that I'm doing these interviews and stuff, it just brings back memories of how organic it was even though we just went in and did what we do.
San Antonio Metal Music Examiner: What do you think of the lost song "Piss" that's on the 20th-anniversary edition?
Rex: That was one of those that we… I had one metal part, the verse part, that I was sitting around playing in the studio. Vince [Paul Abbott, former PANTERA drummer] was like, "What is that?" "I don't know, I'm just sitting around doing it." We used that one riff for "Use My Third Arm" off "Far Beyond Driven". It was just one of those tracks that we forgot about. To this day, we're scratching our chins going, "Why didn't we put that on the record?" It still holds up. It's a cool track.
San Antonio Metal Music Examiner: Where do you stand on Vinnie and Phil not having spoken all these years?
Rex: Vinnie's just not open to talking to either one of us. Nothing to do with me. I have no problem talking to Vince. We emailed a couple times, but nothing major. You know, we keep hearing rumors about a reunion with Zakk Wylde on guitar, and that is such bullshit. You can't replace my brother.
San Antonio Metal Music Examiner: Do you have a favorite memory or story of Dimebag you'd like to share?
Rex: There are so many. Where do I start? Over the years, there were so many shenanigans and pranks. Dime always had a camera with him. I called him "the irreplaceable arm." He always had a guitar in one hand and a camera in the other and would capture everything on film. Just pulling pranks. It's all been very well documented in the home videos, and I'm saving some of that for the book. As much as he entertained, you know, he had to have entertainment back.

EUROPE Guitarist: 'The '80s Was The Worst Time Ever'France's Rock One recently conducted an interview with guitarist John Norum of Swedish hard rocers EUROPE. You can now watch the chat in two parts below.
When asked what period of the band he would go back to if he had a time machine, Norum replied, "Well, now is the best time we ever had in this band. We get along great, we have a great time making records, we're going on tour, playing shows. But if I had to choose a different time period than now, I should say [2004's] 'Start From The Dark' album, when we started the reunion thing. I mean, the '80s was the worst time ever. It was horrible. I mean, the whole image thing was dreadful. We became like a teeny-bopper, bubblegum band, and I didn't want anything to do with it. I'm not a fan of '80s music at all. I can maybe [name] one or two bands I can listen to from the '80s. When the '80s was over and the '90s started, I was very happy. POISON were gone, CINDERELLA, WARRANT… All that stuff was over with. I was, like [lets out of sigh of relief], 'Oh, finally, it's over. All that junk.' Productions were bad, the albums sounded bad, the songs were cheesy. But there were a few ones that were good. I mean, GUNS N' ROSES were good. They came out with their first album in '87, I think. That one's still a classic; that's a great album. And then VAN HALEN did good albums in the '80s. And AC/DC did good albums in the '80s. But they were different; they were not glam-rock bands — they were more classy, they were better musicians, better players. But anyways, to answer the question, 2004 was a great time [for EUROPE]. And 2005. And 2006. And 2007. Up until now, it's [been] good."
EUROPE's ninth studio album, "Bag Of Bones", entered the official chart in Sweden at position No. 2.
"Bag Of Bones" was released in Europe on April 27 via earMusic/Edel. The CD, which features a guest appearance by blues-rock guitarist Joe Bonamassa (BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION), was produced by Kevin Shirley, who has previously worked with IRON MAIDEN, JOE BONAMASSA, BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION, BLACK STONE CHERRY and JOURNEY, among others.
The "Not Supposed To Sing The Blues" video was directed by Patric Ullaeus of Revolver Film Company, who has previously worked with DIMMU BORGIR, LACUNA COIL, IN FLAMES, SONIC SYNDICATE and KAMELOT, among others.
The "Not Supposed To Sing The Blues" digital single was made available on March 9.

Blakk, Hal Patino and Shaw are also expected to be part of Cotton's touring band, which will begin playing shows in the fall.
Maryann Cotton's career was launched in 2006 when he performed live on Danish TV as part of the "Scenen Er Din" program (Danish version of "Star Search").
King Diamond stated about Maryann's Shock Me" single (which also featured appearances by La Rocque, Blakk, Hal Patino and Shaw), "I checked out the Maryann Cotton song 'Shock Me'. I really liked it. It reminded me in a positive way of Alice Cooper 1971. I think his vocals fit really well in the music, and the few backing vocals he did seemed to make everything sound a lot bigger. Normally horn sections really give me the creeps, but the way they used it in this song, I didn't mind. Great musicians, of course. I really look forward to hear more songs from him, so I can begin to get the full picture."

AC/DC's ANGUS YOUNG Named Greatest Guitar Player In Australian HistoryAccording to The Daily Telegraph, AC/DC's Angus Young has been named the greatest guitar player in Australian history by Australian Guitar magazine. Tommy Emmanuel, COLD CHISEL's Ian Moss, Chris Cheney from THE LIVING END and Rick Brewster from THE ANGELS round out the Top Five.
AC/DC guitarist Malcolm Young has confirmed to Classic Rock magazine that the band is working on the follow-up to 2008's "Black Ice". But he said fans will likely have to wait longer than expected, after singer Brian Johnson suggested there would be new material next year.
"You know what Brian's like. He just says things and then walks away," Malcolm said. "It'll be a little while — a year or two anyway.
He added, "I've been doing some jamming on some song ideas but I do that all the time, as do the rest of the band. We are still working. But we had a long rest between 'Stiff Upper Lip' and 'Black Ice', so I think we need a couple of years to recuperate and work on it a bit more."
During a January 2012 appearance on "The Cowhead Show", the American radio program hosted by Mike "Cowhead" Calta, Johnson revealed that health issues were affecting one of his bandmates, which may have put new album plans temporarily on hold. "One of the boys is a little sick and I can't say anything, but he's getting better," Brian said. "He's doing wonderful. Full recovery fully expected."

SAINT VITUS: Entire New Album Available For Streaming"Lillie: F-65", the new album from doom metal progenitors SAINT VITUS, can be streamed in its entirety at NPR.org. The CD will be released in North America on May 22 via Season Of Mist.
"Lillie: F-65" track listing:
01. Let Them Fall
02. The Bleeding Ground
03. Vertigo
04. Blessed Night
05. The Waste of Time
06. Dependence
07. Withdrawal
The "Let Them Fall" video can be viewed below. The clip was produced and directed by Michael Panduro of Siegfred Productions (CEPHALIC CARNAGE, ROTTEN SOUND, NO AND THE MAYBES) for Scion A/V and shot in Copenhagen, Denmark.
SAINT VITUS recently released a seven-inch single featuring "Blessed Night", a track from "Lillie: F-65". The B-side is a live version of classic VITUS tune "Look Behind You", recorded in December 2010 at Z7 in Pratteln, Switzerland.
The "Blessed Night" seven-inch single is limited to 1,000 hand-numbered copies. Pre-order it at this location.
Speaking to Terrorizer magazine, SAINT VITUS frontman Scott "Wino" Weinrich stated about the band's new album title, "Y'know the reason we called it 'Lillie: F-65'? It was a powerful downer back in our day and well, Dave [Chandler, guitar] really had a thing for his downers."
SAINT VITUS' current lineup features Chandler, drummer Henry Vasquez, bassist Mark Adams and Weinrich.
"Making this album was really a blast," said Chandler. "Being able to live in an environment where all we had to concentrate on was the new material, became very inspiring. And along with our new drummer, Henry Vasquez, and label, Season Of Mist, this record has given us a new opportunity to show everyone that we still have more to shove in your face."
When asked why he thinks SAINT VITUS' music continues to resonate, Wino said in an interview, "Because it comes from the gut. The music has that low tone and it hits you in those emotional places. I've always tried to make the lyrics just as interesting as the music. It's always been a little bit dark but I'm not drawn to the happy stuff. I like music that grabs you by the balls."

Original JETBOY Members To Reunite For One-Off Concert At Whisky A Go GoIn celebration of the 25th anniversary of the recording of their debut album, "Feel The Shake", the four original members of JETBOY — Mickey Finn, Billy Rowe, Fernie Rod and Ron Tostenson — will reunite for one night only on June 1 at the legendary Whisky A Go Go in Los Angeles, California. The lineup for this one-off concert will include bass player Charles Norman, who joined JETBOY after the departure of Sam Yaffa in 1990.
"This is as close to an original lineup the band has done since then," said Finn.
"When the Whisky called us with the idea, we never thought we could make it happen, but everyone was up for it," says Fernie Rod. "It's just flat-out exciting to think that after all this time, the original members can get back in the saddle for one more ride and help Los Angeles to 'Feel The Shake'!"
JETBOY's reunion concert will also mark the 25-year anniversary of the passing of the band's original bass player, Todd Crew. "We, as his friends, thought that it would be a fitting tribute to not only celebrate the anniversary of 'Feel The Shake', but also our friend Todd Crew… a life taken way too soon," JETBOY said in a statement.
In recent years, a "rejuvenated lineup" of JETBOY continued to play major festivals in the United States such as Rocklahoma, Rock On The Range, M3 Rock Festival and Rock the Bayou.

HALFORD Guitarist To Release 'Hell No!' Single"Hell No!", a brand new song from HALFORD guitarist "Metal" Mike Chlasciak, is available for streaming at MetalMike.net. The track, which will be released on May 22 via iTunes, Amazon MP3 and other major digital distributors, is the first single from Mike's new album, "The Metalworker", tentatively due this summer.
"Hell No!" features Chlasciak and vocalist Carlos Zema (OUTWORLD, VOUGAN) alongside Kevin Talley (DAATH, CHIMAIRA, HATE ETERNAL, SIX FEET UNDER) on drums and Mike LePond (SYMPHONY X) on bass.
Produced by Mike, "The Metalworker" was mixed by Orlando Villasenor at Dead Room Studio in San Antonio, Texas. Artwork was provided by Guilherme Sevens of Sevens Design Studio (ADAGIO, PAINSIDE).
"I am excited that 'The Metalworker' is nearing the shore," says Mike. "I am extremely proud of it. I must confess that it is everything I wanted it to be not only as an artist, but also as a fan of heavy metal. I wanted to make the absolute best album that I could make with no compromises, no matter how long it took and I did that."
"The Metalworker" will feature the following songs:
* On Leather Wings
* Don't Shoot The Crown
* Silence Of The Steel
* Tonight We Ride
* We Are The Cross
* This Is War
* M Is For Metal
* Hell No
* Weight Of The Heart
Talley previously stated about his involvement with "The Metalworker", "As a full-time studio drummer, it is sometimes overwhelming to constantly track ultra-technical brutal death metal songs. But, while tracking 'The Metalworker' album for Metal Mike, it reminds me why I got into metal in the first place … straight-forward brutal catchy riffs without any of the B.S. associated with most metal bands today. This is the 'meat and potatoes' of metal, if you will. It's not one of those 'Can I have a side salad, please?' type of bands. The album plows with killer riffage, ragin' leads, and ultra-sick double bass for days."

"We had been on tour for eight years, and we decided to take a break from our adventure to dig our heels in at home and write a new record," explains John Baizley, frontman for the band and the artist responsible for BARONESS' now-iconic album art. "We spent the entirety of the past year dedicating ourselves to the new album. Without the break from touring and the time we took to rest and reflect, we would have been entirely unable to write this new record. We have become re-inspired. Now it's time to get back out on the road."
Baizley also recently spoke with Alternative Press regarding the recording of "Yellow & Green".

SCOTT WEILAND Back With VELVET REVOLVER?STONE TEMPLE PILOTS singer Scott Weiland has revealed to ABC News Radio that he has reunited with VELVET REVOLVER and is back making new music with the band. "We've all grown a lot," explains Weiland. "We're able to put egos and differences and old… conflicts aside and so that's really cool."
He added, "They gave me a couple of [new] songs and myself and [guitarist] Dave [Kushner] and [bassist] Duff [McKagan] are gonna be getting together for a songwriting session next week."
According to Weiland, VELVET REVOLVER will hit the road for a short tour before the end of the year. "[VELVET REVOLVER guitarist] Slash's solo album gets released [on May 22] and so he's gonna do some touring on that and then we're gonna go and do some [VELVET REVOLVER] shows in the later part of summer into early fall," the singer said.
During an appearance on this morning's (Monday, May 14) edition of the "Half-Assed Morning Show" on the Minneapolis, Minnesota radio station 93X, Slash shot down Weiland's reunion comments, explaining, "I have absolutely no intention of going back to that. . . I'm on tour all year. I'll call Duff, but I seriously doubt [there is any truth to Weiland's comments]. We have no intention of going backwards."

IN THIS MOMENT: New Album Release Date AnnouncedSouthern California's IN THIS MOMENT will release its fouth album, "Blood", on August 14 via longtime label Century Media Records. The CD was once again produced by Kevin Churko, who has previously worked with OZZY OSBOURNE and FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, among others.
IN THIS MOMENT began work on the new album just a few months following the departures of drummer Jeff Fabb and guitarist Blake Bunzel, who left the band late last year in order to join the backing group of "American Idol" finalist James Durbin. Fabb and Bunzel have since been replaced by Tom Hane (THYATEIRA) and Randy Weitzel (FLATLINE, 3/13, AMERICAN MASSACRE), respectively.
Commented IN THIS MOMENT frontwoman Maria Brink: "There are no words to describe how excited we are... We are on fire with this record. It's by far the most powerful material we have ever written.
"IN THIS MOMENT has gone through some big changes. I admit sometimes change is scary, especially when facing the unknown, but in this case everything has been perfectly meant to be. It's a brave, dark, hard-hitting album that will make you feel dirty inside, but still wanting more."
Added guitarist Chris Howorth: "Over the last [few] months, we have undergone some interesting changes within the band. As a result, Maria and I were brought closer together united in our mutual determination to top everything we have previously done with IN THIS MOMENT. It's our fourth album and we definitely have something to prove this time. During the writing process, Maria, Kevin and I are pushing ourselves to make sure every song is something unique and special. I honestly feel this is the most focused and powerful music we have ever created and I am beyond psyched to get it out there for people to hear."
In a recent interview with Australia's Loud magazine, Maria stated about IN THIS MOMENT's new material, "We brought some stuff to the table that we've never done before and it really sounds like something special, something new. I can't explain it; I mean, if you know our old music, when you hear the new stuff you're going to go, 'Holy shit, okay, I totally get it.' But I don't want to give away anything either, it's just unique; it's something new we've brought to the table. We found something special within us; we found this certain thing, so I'm excited for it."
Regarding IN THIS MOMENT's split with Fabb and Bunzel, Brink said, "You know how sometimes, you don't realize sometimes something happening (that's) traumatic, that it can be the most beautiful thing that could have happened to you? It's like one of those situations. It got really stripped back down to me and Chris [Howorth, guitar], and me and Chris started this band together, just me and him, and then it was like everybody came to the table, everybody brings their own influence. I believe it was all meant to be, all of those albums with them. I love them, I wish them the best. But it was almost like this new, with just me and Chris, this new fire, this new strength within me that I just… magical things started happening between what we started creating. And it's just so meant to be; it's meant to be that they moved on and some other things in my life, it's so cool 'cause it's just like this brand new everything and it feels really awesome. And you're going to be able to hear it."
Fan-filmed video footage of IN THIS MOMENT performing the title track of the band's upcoming album, "Blood", on March 2 at the Soundwave Festival in Melbourne, Australia can be seen below.

ENTOMBED: 'Amok' Single Artwork UnveiledStockholm, Sweden-based label Threeman Recordings, which is owned and run by members of ENTOMBED, recently launched a new collaboration with Ninetone Records. The first release under this arrangement will be a single for the re-recorded version of the song "Amok" from ENTOMBED's 2007 album, "Serpent Saints - The Ten Amendments", produced by Patrik Frisk (CORRODED). A May 23 release is expected.
The cover artwork for the "Amok" single can be seen below.
"Serpent Saints - The Ten Amendments" was released in the U.S. on July 31, 2007 via Candlelight/Threeman Recordings. The 10-song effort marked the group's first release with drummer Olle Dahlstedt (ALPHA SAFARI, ex-MISERY LOVES CO.), who replaced Peter Stjärnvind in 2006. Mastering duties were handled by Soren Elofsson at Cosmos Mastering in Stockholm, Sweden.
"Serpent Saints - The Ten Amendments" entered the Swedish national chart at position No. 3. This was the highest chart position in the band's career.
The current lineup of ENTOMBED features Victor Brandt (TOTALT JÄVLA MÖRKER, AEON, SATYRICON) and second guitarist Nico Elgstrand (who previously played bass for the group).
In a May 2011 interview with the Stormbringer.at webzine, ENTOMBED guitarist Alex Hellid stated about the progress of the songwriting sessions for the long-awaited follow-up to "Serpent Saints", "We're just taking our time getting the pieces together properly this time. We just wanna make sure that it's a really good album. Now we have a complete lineup again also, and a lot of fresh, new blood as well. So it's gonna be fun to create something new now. . . We wanna get the group together and get a strong foundation to create something good; that's the goal here. . . We'll just concentrate on [creating] something great."
He added, "I [try not] to focus on too much at the same time. [My attitude] is 'Let's just make one great song to start with,' and then we'll take it from there. . . We have a pretty broad palette of things we can do, and we'll try and find a place for anything. 'Cause we enjoy everything from the fastest death/black metal stuff to whatever, so the songs that we come up with, we'll just have to find a space for them — some stuff might be [releases as] an album, some stuff might be a single…"
He continued, "I think it's kind of boring, in a way, to just think in terms of a full-length] 'album,' especially when nobody seems to really create classic albums anymore, and a lot of people don't even buy them anymore. If wanna record our favorite cover songs, there should be a place for that as well.
"It's been four years [since the last album came out] and I feel that we have so much creativity in the band and so many things that we can all put under this roof of things that we like collectively. And what I wanna do is for us to find a way to channel all our creativity and also make it the best and the greatest it can be."

LINKIN PARK: New Video Footage And First Album ReviewAccording to The Pulse Of Radio, LINKIN PARK has posted a new behind-the-scenes clip online showing how the band achieved the fiery special effects seen in its current lyric video for "Burn It Down", the first single from its upcoming album "Living Things". Each of the group's members went through a full 360-degree body scan process back in late February at a studio in Los Angeles, with cameras capturing every inch of their bodies. Singer Mike Shinoda said about the final images, "That's so crazy. I didn't expect them to look so much like us."
Although the lyric video features just singer Chester Bennington looking "volcanic," we'll probably see more of the body scan effects in the full official video for "Burn It Down".
"Living Things" is due out on June 26 and follows up LINKIN PARK's 2010 release, "A Thousand Suns".
Mike Shinoda told The Pulse Of Radio that the new disc mixes the electronic sounds of that last effort with the more rock-oriented style of the band's earlier records like "Hybrid Theory". "Coming into this record, what we were excited about is using all of the tools in the toolbox to just of kind of like not ignore the fact that we're capable of making all these different sounds," he said. "And it made us kind of get back to, not literally 'Hybrid Theory' the album, but the hybrid theory as a philosophy, of what our band started off as — just taking all the different sounds and the things that we like and fusing them together into one thing."
LINKIN PARK will join INCUBUS on the Honda Civic Tour this summer, launching on August 11 in Bristow, Virginia.
The band is also performing an exclusive benefit show this Friday (May 18) for fan club members at Los Angeles' House of Blues. Proceeds from the show will aid Music For Relief's "Power The World" initiative.
Noisecreep got an exclusive first listen of "Living Things", calling it "a take-no-prisoners, 37-minute blast and blitz of everything that has come to define this powerful band . . . a never-ending assault of thick grooves, sinewy guitars, ethereal soundscapes, and looping rhythms." The site added, "Powerful, hypnotic and thoroughly true to form, this is a brilliant, definitive collection that represents an important band at its peak yet again."

DREAM THEATER Guitarist To Guest On New PERIPHERY AlbumGuitarist John Petrucci of progressive metal giants DREAM THEATER has contributed a guest guitar solo to the forthcoming sophomore full-length album from the Maryland-based experimental, progressive metallers PERIPHERY. According to an advertisement in the latest issue of Revolver magazine (see below), the CD is scheduled for a July 3 release via Sumerian Records.
PERIPHERY supported DREAM THEATER for two U.S. shows last October and a full-length European tour in January and February.
In a September 2011 interview with Metal Assault, PERIPHERY guitarist Misha Mansoor stated about Petrucci, "John Petrucci is the reason why I have a seven-string. John Petrucci is who I wanted to be when I started taking guitar seriously. I learned all the songs off [1999's] 'Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes From A Memory' and played them horribly. But it really challenged me and showed me… I wanted to be him… I wanted to be John Petrucci so badly. I didn't even wanna be like him; I just wanted to be him. And I figured if I learned every song and solo, I'd get in his head and figure out how he wrote the amazing parts that he did and I'd understand how to be a better musician. I kind of got over that eventually when I realized I just didn't have the technical prowess to pull that off. But it definitely made a very big mark on me in many ways — in his approach to lead playing and arrangements and songwriting, in riff writing… everything. He's just such a balanced player and such a huge influence to me."
Bassist Tom Murphy last year announced his departure from PERIPHERY "to pursue something new." Adam "Nolly" Getgood of RED SEAS FIRE has been filling in on bass while Mark Holcomb took up his position as the full-time guitarist on the band's most recent tour.

DAVE MUSTAINE: I Apologized To JAMES HETFIELD For Bringing Up 'Supergroup' IdeaMEGADETH singer/guitarist Dave Mustaine has apologized to METALLICA's James Hetfield for publicly discussing the fact that Dave wanted to assemble a "supergroup" combining Mustaine and MEGADETH bassist David Ellefson with Hetfield and METALLICA drummer Lars Ulrich.
Hetfield laughed off talk of a possible collaboration between members of his band and members of MEGADETH in a new interview, calling it "crazy" talk on the part of Mustaine. An original member of METALLICA before being kicked out in early 1983, Mustaine has jammed with his ex-bandmates on several occasions over the past couple of years during "Big Four" shows and at METALLICA's 30th anniversary concerts last December.
Hetfield told So What!, METALLICA's fan club magazine, "I see [Mustaine] healthier now. I see him as less of a bitter guy. But I do see a lot of stuff in the press with him talking about jamming with us and making an album. All this other crazy stuff. I read it and say to myself, 'Hold on. This is the Dave that we kind of wanted to forget about. You know, the big-mouth that wants to just go-go-go."
Hetfield added, "But there is an authenticity about him when he speaks. He doesn't think too much before he does. He just goes off the cuff. Plus, when he says stuff like that, it's well-intended."
In an interview with Artisan News conducted on Friday, May 11 (see video below), Mustaine was asked about Hetfield's comments. "I already sent [James] a text message and said I apologized to him for saying that and that I won't ever mention it again," Mustaine said. "I like James and I thought what he said was flattering, and then it kind of went the opposite way, and then it kind of came back again. And you know, that's OK. I guess my whole thing was I just wanted them to know that I loved them and that I missed them and I enjoyed playing with them. If that's not mutual, then I understand. I still respect him, and I still care about the guy. If he doesn't wanna play [with me] anymore, that's cool. If he doesn't like the idea of what I said, that's OK, too. It wasn't like I said it was gonna happen, it was something that I kind of wished would happen. But you know, it's OK now, since it doesn't seem like it's gonna happen. And you know what?! It's off my bucket list."
He added, "The thing is that I probably shouldn't have said stuff like that, 'cause, I guess, to some people, they may think that I'm trying to use that as a way to get publicity, so I can see where there would be some feelings about it, and that wasn't my intention."
Mustaine feuded with the members of METALLICA for more than two decades before finally patching things up over the last couple of years.
METALLICA is currently on a European tour, during which it is playing its self-titled 1991 fifth album, also known as the "black album," every night in its entirety — but in reverse order.
METALLICA will play both the complete "black album" and, for the first time, its entire 1984 effort, "Ride The Lightning", at its own Orion Music + More festival, scheduled for June 23 and June 24 in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
