"A few days ago something funny happened, or actually something scary… but ended up funny. Our trailer with our whole gear got disconnected from our bus and we lost it in the middle of the highway! This could have been the end of the tour, but our bus drivers saved the day… Also, two days ago one of our bus wheels broke (see video below) and we were about to cancel the show but we still made it... It seems nobody can stop this tour!!!"

Latvian modern thrash metallers TRENDKILL METHOD, who feature in their ranks guest musicians Esben Hansen (HATESPHERE, AS WE FIGHT) on vocals and Magnus Soderman (SLAPDASH, AXENSTAR, INRAGE) on lead guitar, have completed work on their second album, "Affective Arousal", in their hometown of Riga with producers Denis Melnik (GUST OF ANGER, HOSTILE BREED, ULTRA) and Sergey "Amsterdam" Laletin (SANCTIMONY, SOULARIS). The CD was mixed by Jacob Hansen at Hansen Studio in Ribe, Denmark. The artwork was designed by Costin Chioreanu of Twilight 13 Media.

The renowned rock guitarist Gary Moore has died, the BBC has learned.

Mr Moore, 58, was, originally from Belfast, and was a former member of the legendary Irish group Thin Lizzy.

Adam Parsons, who manages Thin Lizzy, told the BBC that Mr Moore had died in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Mr Moore was originally drafted into Thin Lizzy by its singer Phil Lynott. He later gained acclaim for his solo work and was a former member of the Irish group Skid Row.

It is with deep sorrow and regret, that we have to announce that Gary Moore passed away while on holiday in Spain last night.

Our thoughts are with his children, family and friends at this sad time.

KORN has recruited Morgan Rose (pictured below; SEVENDUST) to sit behind the kit for the last few shows of the band's current "Music As A Weapon V" tour with DISTURBED, SEVENDUST and IN THIS MOMENT. Morgan will be filling in for KORN's regular drummer Ray Luzier, who will be unable to make the dates due to the impending birth of his child.

Luzier became KORN's touring drummer in late 2007 and was made an official member in 2009. Bassist Reginald "Fieldy" Arvizu previously said of his newest bandmate, "Ray is like the missing KORN member we never had. He just fits so well. When we found him, it just clicked because his playing sounds like KORN. He plays with me, and the way that he plays is exactly what I needed. We know what we're doing on stage with each other, and everybody's on the same page. I've waited my whole career for KORN to sound like we do now."

KORN's latest album, "Korn III - Remember Who You Are", was released in July 2010. The band's ninth offering is the band's first effort for brand new label home, Roadrunner Records.

"This album is a reflection of us being a band since 1993," vocalist Jonathan Davis previously said. "We worked hard on the previous records, and we experimented a lot. For 'Remember Who You Are', the four of us got together in a small room with the intention of writing an old-school KORN record. This album is a perfect mixture of everything we've done, and this version of the band is the best ever."

After a twenty-one year career, Cathedral announce their forthcoming retirement from the scene. The band will make their exit from the live arena at the end of this year and plan to record one final studio album to be released in 2012.

According to vocalist Lee Dorrian; "It's simply time for us to bow out. Twenty-one years is a very long time and it's almost a miracle that we managed to come this far! We've had a great time during Cathedral's existence and it has literally been our life. It's just time to move on and leave our recorded legacy to linger".

Since forming in 1990 the band have released nine studio albums and several EP's. A large part of their career was spent recording for Earache Records, debuting with the landmark 1991 Doom Metal classic Forest of Equilibrium. This was followed by the seminal 1993 Ethereal Mirror album which was released by Columbia records in America to large critical acclaim.

More recently Cathedral have continued to expand on their overall sound, releasing two albums for the Nuclear Blast label. Dorrian continues; "Our latest album The Guessing Game is exactly where we wanted to be after all this time. Staying in one place, being repetitive and predictable is something we wanted to avoid right from the off."

The band's uncompromising individual style has gained them a large cult-following around the world. They recently reunited with the original line-up for their twentieth anniversary concert to perform their aforementioned debut in its entirety. They are scheduled to make several final live appearances 2011, including dates in Japan and at the Maryland Deathfest. More dates will follow including a farewell London show later in the year.

Dorrian concludes; "We would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude to those special people who have supported Cathedral over the years. It may sound like a cliché but it's certainly true - we simply wouldn't have been able to do it without you, thanks!"

Norwegian old-school black metallers KAMPFAR will release their new album, "Mare", in Europe on March 25 and in the U.S. on April 5 via Napalm Records. The follow-up to 2008's "Heimgang" album was recorded at Abyss studios in Pärlby, outside Ludvika, Sweden with producer Peter Tägtgren (HYPOCRISY, PAIN).

According to The Pulse Of Radio, Robert Plant says that BAND OF JOY's next studio set won't rely on cover songs and will be the band's first to feature newly-written original material. Plant and the band are currently out on the road and dipping into his solo catalogue and including his 1988 solo hit "Tall Cool One" in the show's setlists, along with revamped versions of such LED ZEPPELIN classics as "Ramble On", "Houses Of The Holy", "Tangerine", "Gallows Pole", "Thank You" and "Rock And Roll".

U.S. melodic metal act ARTIZAN has set April 29 as the release date for its full-length debut, "Curse Of The Artizan", via the German label Pure Steel Records. The CD was recorded with legendary producer Jim Morris, who has previously worked with ICED EARTH, DEATH, CANNIBAL CORPSE and JAG PANZER, among many others.

Atlanta progressive metallers MASTODON will release a new live DVD/CD, "Live At The Aragon", on March 15 via Reprise. The set was filmed/recorded during the band's October 17, 2009 concert at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago, Illinois and it features a performance of the "Crack The Skye" album, along with other tracks from MASTODON's back catalog, plus a MELVINS cover.

Michael Monroe, iconic rock 'n' roll frontman and founding member of hugely influential Finnish outfit HANOI ROCKS, will release his new solo album, "Sensory Overdrive", on March 14 via Universal Music subsidiary Spinefarm Records. The CD features guest appearances by MOTÖRHEAD's Ian "Lemmy" Kilmister and three-time Grammy-winning country/folk singer-songwriter Lucinda Williams.

Commented Ihsahn: "We are happy to have the guys in LEPROUS working in our studio these days. So far the recording has been going great, and new material is absolutely fantastic! In lack of a crystal ball, we would still definitely predict this to be one of the best progressive albums coming out in 2011."
