"Shameful Metaphors", the new video from the Chicago-based trio CHEVELLE, can be viewed below. The clip was shot and directed by Frankie Nasso (MUDVAYNE, ALL THAT REMAINS, HELLYEAH) at the Dallas, Texas stop of this year's Carnival Of Madness tour. The band played the song only once and performed it to perfection. The video is beautifully shot and Nasso once again exhibits his pure talent as a music video director.

Commented CHEVELLE drummer Sam Loeffler, "We really wanted the fans to be a part of this new video, and we were really excited that everyone came down to the show and had a blast with us. This video shows us in our rawest form and it truly comes out during our performances and this video captures that."

British vocalist Sarah Jezebel Deva — who has toured and/or recorded with CRADLE OF FILTH, THERION, MORTIIS and ANGTORIA — will make a guest appearance on one track from the forthcoming CREATION'S TEARS album, "Methods To End It All". The CD, which features a guest appearance by former PARADISE LOST drummer Lee Morris, will be released on October 4 on the Cure For Poison label.

Commented CREATION'S TEARS frontman Brian Eddie Reynolds: "Despite me being a huge fan of CRADLE OF FILTH's 'Dusk And Her Embrace' and a couple of other CRADLE albums, there was a certain quality to Sarah's voice; a warmth and innocence that I just hadn't picked up on in her role as backing singer with the band. I really only first noticed her vocals on the excellent ANGTORIA album 'God Has A Plan For Us All' and I knew she'd be an ideal choice for the female vocal parts on the track 'Creation's Tears'. I think she has really surpassed herself and I rate this as one of her best vocal performances of her entire career."

Sarah Jezebel Deva, who has also appeared on albums by THERION, MORTIIS and THE GATHERING released her solo debut, "Sign Of Sublime" in 2010 and is set to embark on an imminent European tour.

When asked if Sarah Jezebel Deva was a "real" diva, Reynolds carefully mused, "Well (like the rest of us) she had her moments (now I'm dead)!

"She enjoyed the CREATION'S TEARS track and wanted to sing on it but she was also extremely busy with her own personal matters and her debut solo album around the time of the 'Methods To End It All' recording sessions. I didn't have complete certainty that her CREATION'S TEARS appearance would actually happen until the day of the recording session. I can only imagine the pressure she was under and I would have completely understood if she hadn't appeared.

"I think that after a career with CRADLE OF FILTH who spend so much time in the limelight, Sarah had a lot to prove with her solo material and that had to be her primary focus.

"I'm glad it all came together. I'd rate her performance on the CREATION'S TEARS debut as being Sarah Jezebel Deva at her absolute best!"

British rockers FM will round-off a very successful year with three more regional shows in October; a return to London O2 Academy Islington on December 1st and an appearance on the Main Stage at Hard Rock Hell IV in Prestatyn on December 3rd. All this and the release of a new 9-track mini-album as well.




Released via Riff City Records, the City Limits EP will no doubt please fans old and new. Lead track 'Bring Back Yesterday' (from this year's Metropolis album) has been playlisted on BBC Radio 2, receiving plays on the Chris Evans and Steve Wright shows amongst others. Also included on the mini-album are 5 tracks from Metrolpolis recorded live at FM shows this summer. Fans will be champing at the bit to hear brand new song 'Start It Up' and a breathtaking new acoustic version of 'That Girl' (originally released on the band's début album Indiscreet and still one of their most popular songs, regularly included in their live set).

The mini-album concludes with one of DJ Juppy's (drummer Pete Jupp) tour de force extended mixes of lead track 'Bring Back Yesterday'.

City Limits EP is released on October 11th and will be available to download from all good internet retailers. The CD may be purchased from the FM webshop at this location from October 11th. CRS Drummer Of The Year award winner Johanne James, is no stranger to the limelight, having played a variety of venues from small stages to major festivals around the world, treading the boards alongside the likes of DREAM THEATER, PSYCHOTIC WALTZ, BREED 77, HAWKWIND, PAIN OF SALVATION and SKINDRED. Kyrbgrinder have made successful appearances at a number of festivals, most recently the trio have rocked the main stage at Cambridge Rock Festival.




Johanne will be well known to many as the ‘engine room’ of Threshold, who are considered one of the leading lights of the progressive metal genre and in Kyrbgrinder he is joined by Alberto ‘Albi Flaibani’ and Tom Caris to complete the threesome.

Vocalist Peter Ellis (pictured at left) has parted ways with THE MORE I SEE to join L.A.-based rockers WHITE WIZZARD.

The More I See guitarist Gizz Butt had this to say on Peter’s departure: "Peter’s the right guy for the job. I’m 100% behind this move and will support him all the way. He’d be crazy not to accept such an opportunity!"

Original vocalist Chad Sunderland will join The More I See for their remaining shows of 2010. Stay tuned for a statement from White Wizzard.

Swedish metallers THE LAW have issued the following update in regards to MORDBRAND, the new project from guitarist Björn Larsson and drummer Johan Rudberg:

rogressive death metal act OBSCURA has unveiled the name of their forthcoming full-length as Omnivium.

Omnivium was recently recorded and now being mixed at Woodshed Studio in southern Germany with engineer V. Santura (TRIPTYKON, DARK FORTRESS). The nine-track album will see an early 2011 release date. Additional album details will be made available shortly.

Obscura’s Steffen Kummerer issued the following update from the studio: "Although we recorded again with our long time friend and producer V. Santura in the Woodshed Studios, the studio sessions were hard work and lots of sweat. It was for the best though since Omnivium is definitely the next step for this band.

"Christian (Muenzer – guitar) recorded some outstanding solos with a new 8 finger tapping technique, Jeroen (Paul Thesseling – bass) brought his own stamp of fretless tone into the mix again, and Hannes (Grossmann - drums) recorded his heaviest session to date and broke through the 260 bpm line. Everyone brought lots of great ideas to the table and made Omnivium a truly collaborative band effort. Omnivium sounds solely like Obscura, and brings us a step closer to reaching our unique vision of progressive death metal."

"Magic Taborea", the new video from German "a cappella metal" band VAN CANTO — which consists of five singers and one drummer (no guitars, no bass, no keyboards) — can be viewed below. Polish hard rockers ACID DRINKERS have released their new video, for their cover of THE B-52'S' 'Love Shack'. Check it out below.

Acid Drinkers will release their new album, Fishdick Zwei - The Dick Is Rising Again, on November 8th via Mystic Production/Indie Distribution.

The recordings took place in the first part of the year in Perlazza Studio with Przemyslaw “Perla” Wejmann as producer. Jacek Milaszewski was responsible for mixing and mastering. The cover art was created by Bartosz Zielinski (JOKERS TATTOO).

The record will be a sequel to 1994's Fishdick, which included cover songs of other artists. This time its the same, the band covering artists such as IRON MAIDEN, KISS, METALLICA, SLAYER, FRANK SINATRA and DONNA SUMMER. The album features a guest appearance by Vogg of DECAPITATED fame.

According to a posting on KATATONIA's Facebook page, the two guitars that were stolen while the Swedish band was performing on September 18, 2010 at Station 4 in St. Paul, Minnesota have been turned in to the police. The group states, "We won't get into the murky ugly details right now as the priority was and is that we get them back on the road for our shows and then on to the competition winners, so let's celebrate that for now while the police continue to do their job."

"Devil's Crashing The Party", a previously unreleased song from Finnish heavy metal monstes LORDI, will be performed in a musical in Finland. The heavy metal musical called "1827 Infernal Musical" focuses on the great fire that took place in the year 1827 in the city of Turku.

The "1827 Infernal Musical" premiere is scheduled for January 21, 2011 at the Turun Nuori Teatteri in Turku, Finland.

Commented LORDI mainman Mr. Lordi, "It is interesting that our music is suitable for theater world, too."

The European Relapse Records office and warehouse was destroyed earlier this week by a fierce fire.

The blaze broke out around 5 a.m. on Wednesday morning (September 22) and reduced to ashes the Relapse warehouse and office in Sevenum, Netherlands, along with several other business complexes and houses in the area.

No one was injured in the incident.

The cause of the fire is not yet known and is under investigation by local authorities.

Label operations will continue, and further updates will follow.

Relapse's current label roster includes such acts as BRUTAL TRUTH, CEPHALIC CARNAGE, DYING FETUS, KINGDOM OF SORROW, MISERY INDEX and TOXIC HOLOCAUST.

Polish extreme metallers HATE will release limited vinyl editions of their two latest albums, Anaclasis and Morphosis.

Both LPs will be released by Witching Hour Productions this October. Both releases will also be available on the upcoming Rebellion Tour 2010 which features Hate, DECAPITATED, CHRIST AGONY, VEDONIST, NAMMOTH and NERVE.

Hate entered Hertz Studio in Bialystok, Poland on June 5th with producers Slawek and Wojtek Wieslawscy (DECAPITATED, VADER) to begin recording their new album, Erebos. The new masterpiece is now ready, and you can check studio footage in two parts below.

The European release date for Erebos is set for late November. The same month, Hate will embark on an Eastern European tour comprising almost 20 gigs in Russia and the Ukraine. In April, 2011, Hate will set off for a big tour in the United States and Canada, together with ROTTING CHRIST.

HELHEIM, one of Norway's oldest Viking metal bands, recently shot a video for the song "Dualitet Og Ulver" ("Duality And Wolves") in the mountains surrounding the band's hometown of Bergen. The track is said to have been written about Hati and Skoll, the two wolves of Norsk legend who attempt to swallow both the sun and the moon.

"Dualitet Og Ulver" comes off HELHEIM's new mini-CD, "Åsgards Fall", which is scheduled for release on November 1 via Dark Essence Records. The six-track effort also contains two epic new tracks, written especially for this release, as well as a new recording of the HELHEIM classic "Jernskogen" , originally found on the "Blod & Ild" album. "Dualitet Og Ulver" itself is the video mix of the track that will appear on the band's forthcoming full-length release, "Heiðinðómr Ok Mótgangr", due out at the beginning of 2011.

Recorded at the Conclave and Earshot studios in Bergen, "Åsgards Fall" was produced by HELHEIM and Bjornar Nilsen (VULTURE INDUSTRIES, BLACK HOLE GENERATOR), and was mastered by Herbrand Larsen (ENSLAVED, AUDREY HORNE). The mini-CD also features guest appearances by Hoest (TAAKE), Gunnar Emmerhoff (EMMERHOF AND THE MELANCHOLY BABIES) and PV on vocals, and Trine Mjanger on French horn.

According to JonLord.org, former DEEP PURPLE keyboardist Jon Lord has revisited his "Sarabande" suite from 1975 and plans to perform it live this fall. "Sarabande" is one of Jon Lord's most successful and most loved orchestral works.

"In Budapest on the 18th of this month, I am playing the 'Sarabande' suite for the first time ever live," Lord says. "That is, in its entirety, and in the same running order as the original recording.

"I have, of course, played 'Gigue' and 'Bourrée' many times and occasionally 'Pavane' and 'Sarabande', but this is the first time the suite has been done 'whole.'"

Recorded in Oer-Erckenschwick near Cologne, Germany in 1974 with the now-defunct Philharmonica Hungarica orchestra conducted by Eberhard Schoener, the full suite comprises:

* Aria
* Gigue
* Bourrée
* Pavane
* Caprice
* Finale

The original recording also featured Andy Summers on guitar (later with THE POLICE), Pete York on drums, Mark Nauseef on percussion (later drums with IAN GILLAN band and THIN LIZZY) and Paul Karass on bass.

"I have taken the opportunity to brush-up the 1975 orchestrations, and have therefore also orchestrated 'Aria' — which was played on piano and synthesizers on the recording, and 'Caprice' which was just the group," Lord adds. "The 'Finale', too, has had a make-over to allow the 'parade of themes' section, which was done with tape-loops on the recording, to be played live. Had a lot of fun doing it, too."

The complete "Sarabande" suite will be premiered in Budapest on September 18 and later performed also in Sofia on October 30 and in Essen on November 15.

"I will play it in the first half instead of Concerto for Group and Orchestra," says Lord. "I also have a couple of interesting surprises for the second half."

"Crossing Jordan", the new Bernd Levay-directed video from Austrian metallers THE SORROW, can be viewed below. The song comes off the band's third, self-titled album, which is scheduled for release in Europe on October 29 via Drakkar Records and in North America on December 7 through Artoffact Records. The follow-up to 2009's "Origin Of The Storm" was recorded at Principal Studios (DIE TOTEN HOSEN, IN EXTREMO) in Senden, Germany with producer Toni Meloni and was mixed by Sky van Hoff. Mastering duties were handled by Jens Dreesen.

German grindcore/death metal act MILKING THE GOATMACHINE will release its sophomore studio album, "Seven… A Dinner for One", on November 26 via the band's new label home, NoiseArt Records. The follow-up to 2009's "Back From The Goats…" is said to be a concept effort about "the wolf and the seven kids" and will contain the song "Like A Goatmachine", which is apparently a remake of the JAMES BROWN classic "Like A Sex Machine".
