Spain's Rock Metal TV / MSN has premiered SLIPKNOT's live video for the song "Psychosocial" (see below), recorded at last year's Download festival in the U.K., where the band performed a parade of hits in front of 80,000 screaming fans. The clip comes off SLIPKNOT's "(sic)nesses" DVD, which will land on retail shelves on September 28 via Roadrunner. The set captures SLIPKNOT's unforgettably electric headlining performance at Download, where the group brought the venue to its knees with a performance that'll put viewers in the front row, butted up against the barricade, surrounded by thousands of fans losing their minds to their favorite band. Additionally, the DVD features several riveting extras including a 45-minute film, music videos and much more.

Swedish melodic death metallers LOCH VOSTOK have issued the following update:

"Unfortunately [bassist] Tomas 'Tym' Jonsson has to sit out [our European] tour [with Swedish progressive/experimental metallers THERION and Norway's LEPROUS]. His herniated spinal disc is causing him excruciating pain and doctors strongly advised him not to go on tour.

"Life's a bitch, and Tym is really pissed off. We all wish him a speedy recovery and our thoughts are with him all the time.

"Luckily for LOCH VOSTOK, bass virtuoso Jimmy Mattsson from PLANET RAIN will help us out."

Melbourne, Australia's dark rockers THE ETERNAL are putting the finishing touches on a video for the title track of their fourth full-length album, "Under A New Sun". The clip will make its online debut in late October.

"Under A New Sun" will be released in Australia and Japan in late January 2011 and will be followed by an Australian tour. The CD was recorded at 301 Studios in Byron Bay with acclaimed producer and multi-platinum recording artist Jeff Martin (THE ARMADA, THE TEA PARTY). Songtitles set to appear on the follow-up to 2008's "Kartika" include "The Sleeper", "Control", "Under A New Sun", "A Thousand Shades of You", "Collapse" and "Cast In Stone".

FILTER stopped by LimeWire Music Blog's headquarters before the band's August 21, 2010 performance at the Bowery Ballroom in New York City and belted out three acoustic tunes. Video footage of the performance can be viewed below.

"The Trouble With Angels", the fifth studio album from FILTER, sold around 6,300 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 63 on The Billboard 200 chart.

FILTER's previous album, 2008's "Anthems For The Damned", opened with 13,000 units to land at No. 42.

"The Trouble With Angels" was released on August 17 via Rocket Science Ventures. Fans of the band's "Short Bus" and "Title of Record" will be ecstatic to hear Richard Patrick return to his industrial roots.

Rocket Science owner Kevin Day says, "I have known Richard for a good while and have been a fan of his music and the FILTER 'sound' since their first release. 'The Trouble With Angels' is exciting because it's a strong return to the sonically dark jet engine growl that FILTER invented and defined."

Richard Patrick has taken "Angels" to the next level both lyrically and musically, employing some of the best in the business for the current tour. DEATH BREATH — the Swedish old-school death metal project featuring former ENTOMBED drummer and main songwriter Nicke Andersson (most recently the frontman of rock 'n' roll band THE HELLACOPTERS) — has issued the following update:

"We've been touring most of the spring/summer with our other bands or doing albums, etc. That's just the way it is.

Norwegian extreme metallers SWORN have issued the following update:

"Regarding our third album, we're making a lot of progress. The songwriting is pretty much finished, same goes for lyrics. Also the album title is set, but we will not reveal it at this point — so stay tuned for that!

Canadian metallers THREAT SIGNAL have parted ways with drummer Norm Killeen and are currently seeking a replacement.

Commented the band: "After three amazing years together, the THREAT SIGNAL camp has decided to part ways with drummer Norm Killeen. This was a mutual decision and there are no hard feelings towards each other. We will still continue to work with Norm's graphic design company, NME Studios.

"We're looking for someone preferably with touring experience, but if not, that's fine.

The track listing for "Queens of the Stone Age", a reissue of QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE's critically-lauded 1998 self-titled debut, reflects the band's original vision for the album with three tracks that were initially cut from the record reinstated.

"Gateways", the new video from Norwegian symphonic black metallers DIMMU BORGIR, can be viewed below. Created by Katapult Films (RAMMSTEIN) director Sandra Marschner (MARILYN MANSON, CHILDREN OF BODOM, MANDO DIAO), the clip — which made its "unofficial" online debut on September 5 — features guest vocalist Agnete Kjølsrud (DJERV, ex-ANIMAL ALPHA) and regalia by Tod Waters and Giuliana Mayo of Junker Designs ("In Sorte Diaboli", "The Serpentine Offering", "The Sacrilegious Scorn").

NECRONOMICON, one of Germany's longest-running thrash metal bands, is currently in the Arsen Music Studios in Breisach am Rhein, working on what will be the band's seventh release. The new album, to be titled "Invictus", will be NECRONOMICON's most ambitious work to date, and aside from nine new songs and a new version of "Possessed by Evil", the double CD is set to include seven live tracks and four or five acoustic songs. Artwork for "Invictus" will be by the Brazilian artist Jobert Mello, who has worked with bands such as SABATON, PRIMAL FEAR and BENEDICTUM.

NECRONOMICON is currently seeking a suitable record label to release "Invictus".

Danish thrash metal veterans ARTILLERY have set "6" as the working title of their forthcoming album, due on March 21, 2011 via Metal Mind Productions. The CD will be recorded at Medley Studios in Copenhagen starting on November 29 with producer Søren Andersen (guitar player in Oliver Weers' solo band). 11 songs will be laid down for the effort, including "Ain't Giving In", "Concealed In The Dark", "If Only Death Was An Illusion", "Monster" and "Warrior Blood". The album will be available in at least three different formats featuring no less than four bonus tracks: "The Eternal War", "Show Your Hate", "The Almighty" (all re-recorded versions of tracks from the band's first album, "Fear Of Tomorrow") and "Computer God" (a cover version of the song by BLACK SABBATH).

DYNABYTE, the Italian industrial metal band featuring former OPERA IX vocalist Cadaveria and NECRODEATH bassist John (a.k.a Killer Bob), will release its new album, "2KX", on October 10. The effort, which was produced, arranged, engineered and mastered entirely by DYNABYTE, will be released exclusively on a USB stick, with extra content (previously unreleased pictures, wallpapers and exclusive multimedia content) as a way to thank fans for their support.

"Judgement", the third album from Ashland, Kentucky based hard rockers HYDROGYN, will be released on October 25 in Europe and October 26 in the rest of the world. Powerhouse vocalist Tim "Ripper" Owens (YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, BEYOND FEAR, ex-JUDAS PRIEST, ICED EARTH) was hit by what appears to have been a plastic cup filled with beer during his September 10, 2010 headlining performance at at Byscenen in Haugesund, Norway.

Owens had just started playing his cover version of the BLACK SABBATH classic "Children Of The Sea" as a tribute to Ronnie James Dio when the projectile apparently landed on his left arm, causing Owens to stop the show and request that the perpetrator be ejected from the venue.

Owens said: "Stop! Who fucking threw it? WHO THREW IT?!? Who fucking threw it? Get him outta here. Find the person who threw it. We’re not starting until you throw the fucking person out of here. Find him and take him outta here. [As the guy's being ejected] Nice move you, fucking ass. Jesus. Moron, right? Shall we start again?”

German metallers METALIUM have announced plans to disband in 2011. According to a posting on the group's MySpace page, "All [members of METALIUM] are involved in many other activities (private as well as music-wise) and after nearly 13 years with 9 CDs and 2 DVDs, the chapters will come to an end in 2011. The bandmembers share a deep friendship underneath and want to say thanks to our longtime label Massacre Records and all fans and supporters around the world who kept the flame burning since the band's beginning in 1998."

METALIUM will play several farewell shows which will be profesionally recorded for a final live CD. The set, which will feature four or five new songs that the band will record at the of end of 2010, will also include rare photos and other bonus footage and will be released via Massacre in 2011.

German melodic metal band POWERWORLD, the brainchild of former FREEDOM CALL and MOON'DOC bassist Ilker Ersin, has posted an audio teaser from its upcoming album, "Human Parasite", on the group's official MySpace page. The CD will be released in Europe on October 22 and in USA/Canada on November 9 via SPV/Steamhammer.

According to EADT.co.uk, vocalist Dani "Filth" Davey of British extreme metallers CRADLE OF FILTH has been named one of the top 10 icons of the U.K.'s Suffolk county.

When Suffolk residents were asked to identify their icons of the county, nearly 200 visitors to the Suffolk Icons web site voted for Davey.

The site was launched by Choose Suffolk, a partnership aimed at putting the county "on the map," and tourism manager Alex Paul told EADT.co.uk that the submission of Dani as an "icon" showed that there was more to Suffolk than just the traditional beauty spots.

"The web site has produced a great range of images and features of Suffolk," he said. "It's a creative tool. We didn't know what to expect because nothing like this has ever been done before.

"What's great is it's not just the obvious ones, there are unusual ones that are just as valid.

"There's no right or wrong here, although we are going to pull a few out.

"It's about everyone's voices being heard. It's not about going for the obvious and people feel that Dani Filth is an icon and is as important to people as a pint of Adnams."
