Those shows begin November 30th - December 3rd and are all in Southern West Coast.

"Just so you all know, we have been working on a new record and have 10 songs already! We are set to start recording by February but right before that we will be doing 10 shows down the East Coast from Baltimore, MD to Orlando, FL. and look out Japan, Australia and New Zealand here we come! PAIN OF SALVATION: New Album Cover Artwork, Track Listing Revealed

PAIN OF SALVATION: New Album Cover Artwork, Track Listing Revealed

Sweden's PAIN OF SALVATION has posted the following update on its official web site:

"The long-awaited 'Scarsick' album is now done, and is expected to hit the stores late January 2007, just a few weeks before the European tour that will start mid-February. The album is (of course) a concept album, and clocks in at 67 minutes, consisting of the following tracks:

01. Scarsick
02. Spitfall
03. Cribcaged
04. America
05. Disco Queen
06. Kingdom of Loss
07. Mrs Modern Mother Mary
08. Idiocracy
09. Flame to the Moth
10. Enter Rain

"The cover artwork and track titles have already spawned a lot of discussions in forums and lists around the net regarding the possibility that 'Scarsick' might actually be 'The Perfect Element' part II in disguise. Interviews with the band will undoubtedly start to pop up in magazines and online the following months, so keep your eyes and ears open...

"Now that 'Scarsick' is finished, the band will focus on finding a new bass player. The first auditions are already scheduled for December, but the quest will be 'as long as it takes to find the right guy.' Applications have been pouring in from all around the world, despite the band's request for a bassist living in Sweden. Thus, focus will be on the 'domestic' applications. But this also means that the field is still open, in case you are hesitating.

CLAWFINGER: In Songwriting Mode

CLAWFINGER: In Songwriting Mode

Frontman Zak Tell of the Swedish rap/metal combo CLAWFINGER has issued the following update on the writing/ recording sessions for the group's new studio album:

"So Bård [Torstensen, guitar] is in town since Sunday evening [Nov. 19] and we've started another round of writing and recording. So far, so good, so what, as MEGADETH entitled one of their albums many years ago.

"Anyway, one more demo track is completed. Hooray. There is hope and not only that, it so happens to be a positive little fucker of a song with a 'pop' chorus and all just to make things even more fun. We've spent today [Wednesday, Nov. 22] working on a calm little moody track. I'm not quite sure how much we've actually managed to do on it or change it for the better, but small babysteps are sometimes required in order to find the way. We'll see what happens! We're having a short break right now and then I think we're going to pick out a new track to work on. I have no idea which one will end up being molested by us bastards, but they've all got to be beaten up, pushed around and fucked with until they sound good, so it doesn't really matter, the work continues! It's fun at times, a fucking pain in the ass at others and occassionally the best fucking job in the entire world, all depending on the results obviously. Yeah, I know I should shut my negative fucking mouth and just pretend it's superdooper happy positive creative fun all the time, but I try not to lie, so I won't!

"Well, on that note I'm signing off. As always I'll try and keep you posted. Remember — patience is a virtue, so hang in there and learn how to master your patience. You're going to need a lot of it!"

CLAWFINGER's latest album, entitled "Hate Yourself with Style", was released in the U.S. in February via Nuclear Blast Records.

DARK TRANQUILLITY Finishes Recording New Album

DARK TRANQUILLITY Finishes Recording New Album

Vocalist Mikael Stanne of the Swedish melodic death metallers DARK TRANQUILLITY has issued the following update:

"I can't believe it... We made it! It's done and there is nothing I can do about it.

"Just got back from the studio where everything is now shipped off to Denmark where Tue Madsen will perform his magicky magic on the things we've been working on these last 7 weeks. I just finished the last vocal lines a couple of days ago and it feels sweet.

"As always with recordings, there is alot of stress and self-doubt, but being in a more than familiar environment in Martin's [Henriksson, guitar] studio (Rogue) has helped tremendously. The recordings have not only been smooth and focused but the overall feeling that we are creating something amazing has really driven us through this. It turned out so different and diverse that the hardest thing for me now is to find a suitable title for the whole thing. How can I sum up in a title something that is everything and nothing, grounded and out there, intorvert and extra-terrestial all at the same time?

"Welll, keep watching this space and I will let you know soon enough.

"Right now I am just so glad it's done. Anders [Jivarp, drums] did a fantastic job grinding and beating (off) in the studio, Micke [Michael Nicklasson] has delivered some really crushing bass, Martin and Niklas [Sundin, guitar] have really outdone themselves with great riffs and truly outstanding solos and Martin B [Brändström, electronics] has poured a lot of misery and anxiety into his soundscapes. Now all we do is wait for the mix, and this being our first time mixing out of house so to speak we are really excited to hear what the hell we've been up to!"

AYREON: New Album In The Works

AYREON: New Album In The Works

AYREON, the brainchild of Dutch guitarist Arjen Lucassen (ex-BODINE, VENGEANCE), has posted the following message on its official web site:

"Finally, we are able to bring you some news about Arjen's next recording project.

"At the end of September 2006, Arjen's new studio was finished and ready to use. The very next day, Arjen went in with his trusted little tape recorder, and papers with dozens of song ideas that he'd been working on for the past year.

"He has been in his studio nearly every day (and night) since then, getting the ideas translated into songs. The musical ideas are so extremely varied that only one project could possibly hold them all: AYREON.

"Arjen has already been in contact with some very interesting and talented people to help create a new dimension of the AYREON Universe. Of course, we'll keep you informed on Arjen's progress over the next months!"

AYREON's last CD, "Ayreon: The Human Equation", was released in 2004. It contained guest appearances by a number of acclaimed vocalists, including James LaBrie (DREAM THEATER), Mike Baker (SHADOW GALLERY), Mikael Åkerfeldt (OPETH), Eric Clayton (SAVIOUR MACHINE), Devon Graves (DEAD SOUL TRIBE, ex-PSYCHOTIC WALTZ) and Devin Townsend (STRAPPING YOUNG LAD).

BLACK SABBATH Resurrected!

BLACK SABBATH Resurrected!

The true history, art and commerce of the legendary heavy metal band BLACK SABBATH will finally be disclosed at the premiere of "Black Sabbath Resurrection", a dark post-Apocalyptic world sparked by the music of the legendary band.

Opening Friday, November 17, 2006 at 181 N. Martel, Los Angeles, "Black Sabbath Resurrection" is a highly unique collaboration of music, storytelling, and fashion inspired by a singular event in the history of BLACK SABBATH.

The opening night reception promises to bring together a mix of VIPs and celebrities and invited guests. Beginning Monday, November 19, the "Black Sabbath Resurrection" showcase will be open to the public from Monday-Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

This is the true story..... On January 24, 1972 — BLACK SABBATH were performing in their hometown, at the Birmingham Town Hall venue — unknowingly on the brink of an earth-scorching fracture in space-time. At 0 hours, 29 minutes, 43 seconds into the show, as they ripped into the opening bars of "Iron Man", it happened... And with it, all recorded history of that night was cut off…

"Black Sabbath Resurrection" is a mind-blowing chronicle of that event and the mystery that has continued to surround it, birthed from the music of BLACK SABBATH.

That story will finally be told through video montage on display at 181 Martel. Through early 2007 181 Martell will be transformed into "Black Sabbath Resurrection" surrounded by the music of BLACK SABBATH and renowned graffiti artist Axis. Simultaneously, a band retrospective at the connected Naked Gallery/Boutique will showcase vintage posters and other archival band items (with limited run reproductions of photographs available for purchase).

The BSR exhibit will also offer other an eclectic mix of limited edition for-sale items including the BSR jewelry collection (Instruments of Death), athletic shoes (Chuck Taylors from Converse), high-tech sunglasses (Dita) and denim jeans (Anachronorm), plus the showcasing of a unique leather jacket collection designed by Maya Yogev. In addition, the locale's Lone Ones shop will exhibit its limited edition for-sale high-end "Black Sabbath Resurrection" jewelry line. Most of the items are seen in or have been inspired by the "Black Sabbath Resurrection" story.

"BLACK SABBATH is the defining force and catalyst for heavy metal. Through BSR the band's stamp now encompasss the world of fashion, art and media," says Dell Furano, CEO of Signatures Network.

"Black Sabbath Resurrection" was created by BLACK SABBATH in collaboration with Romanberg Heritage Collections (Darren Romanelli and John Stalberg) in partnership with Signatures Network. "We wanted to pay tribute to one of the most iconic rock bands of all time," says Romanelli, "and also create products that capture the authenticity and impact of the band that will attract both a new generation and long-time fans."

Signatures Network has enjoyed a decades-long relationship with the BLACK SABBATH. For "Black Sabbath Resurrection", Signatures and Romanberg worked closely with BLACK SABBATH in gathering stories, relics, and ideas for the project.
