MVD Visual has set a January 16, 2007 North American release date for the first-ever live DVD from Dutch death metallers SINISTER, entitled "Prophecies Denied". The disc was shot with seven cameras on August 24 at the Stodola Club in Warsaw, Poland and will be made available as a standard DVD and a DVD+CD limited-edition package. The DVD also includes an interview with the band’s frontman Aad Kloosterwaard and guitarist Alex Paul as well as a documentary, "Angels of the Apocalypse", plus rare footage.

SINISTER's latest CD, "Afterburner", was released earlier this year through Nuclear Blast Records.

SINISTER's current lineup consists of Aad Kloosterwaard, drummer and founder of the band, on vocals, Alex Paul on guitar, Paul Beltman (ex-JUDGEMENT DAY) on drums, and Bas van den Bogaard on bass.

The band, who re-signed with Nuclear Blast back in 2002 after a one-album stint with the now-defunct Hammerheart Record, has already announced the working title of its next album: "No Mercyful God".

QUEENSRŸCHE recently announced plans to record and release a double live album recorded on its current "Operation: Mindcrime II" tour. Tentatively titled "Operation: LIVECrime II", the set will include a live production of the original "Mindcrime" on Disc 1 and a live production of "Mindcrime II" on Disc 2.

German metallers RUNNING WILD will release a "best of" compilation, entitled "Best of Adrian", on November 24 via G.U.N. Records. The set will include selections covering the last nine years of ther band's recording history (while they've been signed to the G.U.N. label).

RUNNING WILD's latest album, "Rogues En Vogue" (2005), entered the German album charts at position No. 39. The CD was produced by RUNNING WILD mainman Rolf "Rock'n'Rolf" Kasparek and features the lineup of Kasparek (vocals, all guitars), Peter Pichl (bass) and Matthias Liebetruth (drums).

Norwegian melodic metal band ENSLAVEMENT OF BEAUTY has had a change of heart and will carry on despite a previous announcement that the group was about to split. ENSLAVEMENT OF BEAUTY's new album will be titled "Mere Contemplations" and will contain 10 tracks of the band's unique melodic metal. The CD will be released via the Norwegian independent label INRI Unlimited. Three songs are now available for streaming at the group's official MySpace page.

Finnish pagan folk metal band TURISAS will enter Sound Supreme Studios in Hämeenlinna, Finland at the end of November to record its second full-length album. An early 2007 release is expected.

TURISAS will support LORDI on the "Bringing Back The Balls To UK" tour beginning on October 26 in Nottingham. The band's debut album, "Battle Metal", was released in July 2004 through Century Media Records. "Battle Metal" was produced by Terje Refsnes (TRISTANIA, MORGUL) at Sound Suite Studios in Marseiile, France.

TURISAS has been confirmed for next year's edition of the Rock Hard Festival, set to take place May 25-27, 2007 in Gelsenkirchen, Germany.

Sweden's THERION has finished mixing its new album, according to a posting on the group's official web site. A tentative January 16, 2007 release via Nuclear Blast Records is expected.

THERION will team up with GRAVE DIGGER and SABATON for European tour beginning on January 17 in Essen, Germany. A complete list of tour dates can be found at the THERION web site.

Christofer Johnsson recently announced that he was stepping down as THERION's vocalist. Christofer will continue to handle guitar duties for the band.

German melodic black/death metallers SUIDAKRA have uploaded their video for the song "The IXth Legion" at YouTube.com. The track comes off the group's new album, "Caledonia", due on November 17 via Armageddon Music. The follow-up to 2005's "Command to Charge" was recorded by Martin Buchwalter at Gernhart Records studio in Siegburg, Germany and features artwork by Kris Verwimp. The album photography was handled by Axel Jusseit, who previously worked with the group on 2003's "Signs for the Fallen". The mastering was done by Michael Schwabe at Monoposto Mastering (SUBWAY TO SALLY, DIE TOTEN HOSEN) in Düsseldorf, Germany. A studio report can be found on the band's newly relaunched web site.

Sweden's DREAM EVIL has posted its video for the track "Fire! Battle! In Metal!" at this location. The clip was directed by Patric Ullaeus of the Revolver Film Company, who has previously worked with DIMMU BORGIR, LACUNA COIL and KAMELOT, among many others. The song comes off the group's new album, "United", due in the U.S. on October 31 via Century Media Records. Cleveland's CHIMAIRA is currently at Audiohammer Studios in Sanford, Florida with producer Jason Suecof (TRIVIUM, GOD FORBID) recording its fourth album, entitled "Resurrection". Last week, producer Andy Sneap (NEVERMORE, ARCH ENEMY, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE) recorded the drum tracks for "Resurrection" in Cleveland with CHIMAIRA drummer Andols Herrick; Sneap will also be mixing the album once it is completed. Expect to see this recording in stores spring 2007 on Ferret Music in the U.S. and Nuclear Blast in Europe. Vocalist Mark Hunter explains, "This is our fourth album and we as a band, are collectively and for the first time ever, in synch and in a 'positive' new headspace; we are all really excited about the new material."

"Resurrection" will feature 13 songs, two of which will be used as bonus tracks for a special limited-edition worldwide release. The limited-edition package will also include a documentary of the making of "Resurrection", directed by Todd Bell, who previously worked with the group on their "The Dehumanizing Process" DVD.Cover art for the new CD will be done by legendary artist Paul Booth.

CHIMAIRA's last album, "Chimaira", was recorded at Spider Studios in Ohio with producer Ben Schigel.

According to Candlelight Records, New Orleans sludge-meisters CROWBAR are currently finishing work on their first live DVD. Filmed last summer at the annual With Full Force Festival in Germany, the DVD is expected for release in early 2007.

CROWBAR's latest album, "Lifesblood for the Downtrodden", was released last year via Candlelight Records. The band filmed the second video to support the album, "Slave No More" in Miami, Florida in June 2005. The clip was once again be directed by John-Martin Vogel, who helmed the album's first video for the song "Dead Sun".

Finnish epic/pagan metallers MOONSORROW have set "Viides Luku - Hävitetty" as the title of their new album, due on January 10, 2007 via Spikefarm Records.

As previously reported, MOONSORROW has been confirmed for next year's installment of the Wacken Open Air festival, set to take place August 2-4, 2007 in Wacken, Germany. They are also scheduled to appear at the Arnhem Metal Meeting on Saturday, December 9 at Musis Sacrum in Arnhem, Holland.

MOONSORROW's most recent CD, "Verisäkeet", was issued last year via Spikefarm.

German industrial metallers RAMMSTEIN will release a new DVD, entitled "Völkerball" on November 17. According to RAMMSTEIN's manager Emanuel Fialik, the disc will be packed with footage, including "almost three hours of live recordings filmed in France, Japan, England and Russia. Also there is an audio CD featuring 75 minutes of concert footage. In a special edition the band will release a second DVD with two documentaries [with a running time of] 90 minutes. That makes three discs in a special edition: two DVDs and one audio CD."

"Völkerball" will be released in the following formats:

• Standard Edition: two-disc set (1 DVD, 140 minutes live video + 1 CD, 75 minutes live audio).

RAMMSTEIN's latest album, "Rosenrot", received its long-overdue U.S. release on March 28 via Universal Music. The CD, which was certified platinum in Germany for sales in excess of 200,000 copies within two weeks of release last October, topped the official album chart in Germany, Austria and Finland, and landed at No. 2 in Sweden and Denmark, No. 4 in the Netherlands and the Czech Republic, No. 5 in France, No. 6 in Mexico, No. 11 in Italy and No. 29 in the U.K. In addition, "Rosenrot" achieved gold status in Austria, the Czech Republic and Switzerland.

RAMMSTEIN's track "Mein Teil" was nominated in the "Best Metal Performance" category at the 48th annual Grammy Awards, which were held in Los Angeles in early February.

H.I.M.'s latest album, "Dark Light" (2005), has been officially certified gold in the U.S. for sales in excess of 500,000 copies. The single "Wings of a Butterfly" peaked at No. 19 on Billboard's Modern Rock chart and No. 20 on the Mainstream Rock tally, according to Billboard.com. "Dark Light" has sold more than 900,000 copies worldwide.

H.I.M. last month cancelled a two-week North American tour and will instead hit the studio to record a new album, with an eye on a 2007 release via Sire. The trek was to begin Oct. 18 in Lowell, Mass., and wrap Oct. 31 in Universal City, Calif.

In a statement, the band said its nonstop touring schedule in support of "Dark Light" had not afforded it enough time to develop new material. "We just want to keep it fresh for you and stump you with new material," singer Ville Valo said. "I didn't feel that I could do that without rehearsing some of this stuff that's stuck in my heart."

Vocalist Athera of SUSPERIA — the Norwegian band featuring former members of DIMMU BORGIR and SATYRICON — has issued the following update:

"Our bass master Memnock is currently featuring in an eight part TV documentary series on Norway's TVRomerike, charting the build-up to his recent wedding. As well as capturing the big day, TV crews spent several months following the couple's preparations. The series also takes in Memnock at work with SUSPERIA at rehearsals, in the recording studio and in concert."

SUSPERIA's new album is being recorded at StrandStudio in Oslo, Norway. The band is once again working with Marius Strand, who previously assisted SUSPERIA on 2005's Norwegian Top 20 hit, the "Devil May Care" EP. SUSPERIA will return to Dug-Out Studios in Uppsala, Sweden in November to complete the final mix with Daniel Bergstrand. A release is planned for early 2007 through the Tabu label in Europe and Candlelight Records in the USA. No name for the album has been announced yet, but songtitles revealed so far are "More" (which SUSPERIA performed at this year's Inferno Festival in Norway), "Cut From Stone", "Distant Memory" and "The Clone".

EQUILIBRIUM, for many people the hottest newcomer band from Germany since many years, signed a multi-album contract with Nuclear Blast. The melodic Black Metal band from Munich gained a huge fanbase with their last album "Turis Fratyr" and with many successful live gigs. EQUILIBRIUM will enter a studio in January 2007 in order to record their next output "Sagas". An early summer release is expected.
The band: "A deal with Nuclear Blast? Wow. A dream came true. We´re looking forward to some cool years and even cooler records!"

SHAAMAN (formerly SHAMAN), the Brazilian band featuring former ANGRA members André Matos (vocals), Luis Mariutti (bass) and Ricardo Confessori (drums), has officially split up, according to a statement released by Confessori to the For Tomorrow SHAAMAN fan club. The break-up, which has been long rumored, is being attributed to personal and musical differences. No information is currently available regarding the bandmembers' future plans.

SHAAMAN released its sophomore album, "Reason", in May 2005 via AFM Records. The 10-song follow-up to 2002's "Ritual" was mixed and mastered at Heaven's Gate Studios in Wolfsburg, Germany with producer Sascha Paeth, who previously worked with such acts as KAMELOT, EDGUY, RHAPSODY and FREEDOM CALL. A DVD, entitled "RituAlive", came out in 2003.

Finnish goth metallers THE 69 EYES are currently in the studio recording their new album, "Angels", with producers Hiili Hiilesmaa and Johnny Lee Michaels — the same team that was responsible for the band's last CD, "Devils". The album will be out through Virgin/EMI in the early 2007.

The first single from "Angels", entitled "Perfect Skin", has already been completed and is available for streaming from EMI Finland's jukebox at this location. The commercial release of the single will be closer to the end of the year/January 2007, depending on the country. The additional tracks on the single will be live versions of "Devils", "Christina Death" and "I Just Want to Have Something to Do" (originally written and performed by THE RAMONES), recorded at the sold-out Whisky A Go-Go show in Hollywood in March 2006. The band will film a video for "Perfect Skin" with director Ralf Strathmann in Hollywood in mid-October.

In other news, THE 69 EYES has announced that Cleopatra Records is releasing the band's entire back catalogue in the U.S. Currently available are the "Framed In Blood - The Very Blessed Of…" compilation CD and the "Helsinki Vampires" live album plus a DVD containing the band's videos. Later on this year, the "Paris Kills" and "Blessed Be" albums will follow.

Also on THE 69 EYES front, "Zombie Love – Vampires, Ghosts and The 69 Eyes", a hard-cover comic book by the band' singer, Jyrki 69, came out in September. It is a beautiful collection of Jyrki's old-school goth 'n' roll comics going back all the way to the '80s published by Deggael Communications. The first signed edition of 1,000 was immediately sold out from the publisher but the new regular edition is on its way. Meanwhile, Ville Juurikkala's two-year photographic journey with THE 69 EYES, called "Route 69", will come out in October. Jyrki has also been writing comments from the road for the book. It will be published by Like.

SIRENIA, the Norwegian gothic metal band featuring former TRISTANIA guitarist/vocalist Morten Veland, will travel to Serbia and Montenegro at the end of October to film two music video for its upcoming album. More information will be made available soon.

SIRENIA recently finished mixing and mastering its new album, "Nine Destinies and a Downfall", for early 2007 release via Nuclear Blast Records.

"Nine Destinies and a Downfall" was recorded at Jailhouse studios in Norway with engineer Hans Eidsgard and Soundsuite studios in France with Terje Refsnes. The CD was mixed and mastered at Antfarm studios in Aarhus, Denmark with Tue Madsen. The cover artwork will be designed by Anthony Clarkson.

Finnish metallers PAIN CONFESSOR have set "Purgatory of the Second Sun" as the title of their third album, tentatively due March 2007. "It's a metal title," the band writes on its web site. "It will be a metal album, totally. Writing and arranging material for this CD has been a new found source of inspiration and an incredible adrenaline injection for all of us. Kivistö brothers Mikko and Make worked up a tune called 'Mercenaries', which is a mix of our traditional style and flirting with death metal in its heavy-as-hell chorus. Not to mention another new tune that still lacks a title. Death metal seems to be closer to our hearts than we have known before."

As previously reported, PAIN CONFESSOR will enter Fantom Studios in late 2006/early 2007 with Samu Oittinen to record the CD. Other songtitles set to appear on the album include "Dreamcrusher", "Second Sun", "Without Redemption - Without Remorse" and "Ne Plus Ultra". According to a posting on the group's web site, "the forthcoming album will be the heaviest and most brutal PAIN CONFESSOR album yet."

PAIN CONFESSOR's sophomore album, "Fearrage", was released in March via Megamania. The follow-up to 2004's "Turmoil" was recorded and mixed by Janne Saksa at Studio Sound Supreme and was produced by Janne Saksa and PAIN CONFESSOR.

Long-running Italian metallers WHITE SKULL will release their new album, "The Ring of the Ancients", on October 20 via Dragonheart Records. The follow-up to 2004's "The XIII Skull" was recorded at Remaster Studio in Vicenza and is said to be a concept album about Celtic history and culture.

"The Ring of the Ancients" is WHITE SKULL's first album for Dragonheart following the group's split with Frontiers Records.

Underground Symphony recently released a WHITE SKULL double CD containing the Spanish version of "The Dark Age", called "La Era Oscura", which was previously available only in South America, plus a collection of unreleased and rare material, recorded during 1995-2005.

Norway's TRAIL OF TEARS has unveiled the cover artwork (created by Jan Yrlund) for its fifth album, "Existentia", tentatively due in January 2007 via Napalm Records. The CD was recorded at Soundsuite Studio in Marseille, France with producer Terje Refsnes and includes contributions from French female singer Emmanuelle Zoldan and Norwegian keyboard master Bernt Moen.

Norwegian symphonic black metallers DIMMU BORGIR are about to commence the recording sessions for their new album at Studio Fredman in Gothenburg, Sweden with Fredrik Nordström.

Commented guitarist Silenoz: "Finally we arrived in Studio Fredman. It's now located outside Gothenburg in a godforsaken place in the middle of fucking nowhere, which couldn't be more perfect.

"Things started not as planned, as usual, as we found out already before departure that we were a car short because of calculating the amount of equipment totally wrong. But hey, we're just musicians and we're spoiled having the crew taking care of that usually, so in lack of further excuses we blame it on them and their absence...

"Anyhow, Hellhammer [DIMMU BORGIR guest drummer, of MAYHEM fame] phoned a friend of his and luckily he was free to help us out driving it down to In The Middle of Nowhere. Thanks, Espen!

DIMMU BORGIR recently became the first band on the Nuclear Blast USA roster to sell more than 100,000 copies of a full-length album with their "Death Cult Armageddon" (2003) release, according to sales figures provided by Nielsen SoundScan.

DIMMU BORGIR's video for the track "Sorgens Kammer – Del II" has been posted online at NuclearBlast.de (Real Media). The clip was shot last fall in Sweden with director Patric Ullaeus of Sweden's Revolver Film Company.

"Sorgens Kammer – Del II" is one of the new tracks included on the updated, re-recorded version of DIMMU BORGIR's 1996 album, "Stormblåst", which was released in Europe in November via Nuclear Blast Records (the North American release followed in February). The album was completely re-recorded with producer Peter Tägtgren (HYPOCRISY, PAIN) and MAYHEM's Hellhammer on drums.

Finnish metallers CELESTY have posted two songs — "Lord of Mortals" and "Arrival" — from their upcoming third full-length effort, "Mortal Mind Creation", on their Due on October 23 via Dockyard 1, the follow-up to 2004's "Legacy of Hate" was recorded at Midas Studios in Vaasa, Finland with producer Sami "Hannu" Koivisto, who has previously worked with AMORPHIS, NORTHER, WALTARI and NICOLE.

CELESTY last year announced the addition of guitarist Teemu Koskela to the group's ranks. Koskela replaced longtime axeman J-P Alanen, who left the group to concentrate on his musical studies and his work with fellow Finnish metallers ALTARIA.

Back in May 2005, CEMETARY mainman Mathias Lodmalm announced his departure from CEMETARY, stating, "I've had enough of the people I do business with and the relationship with them has basically killed off the little inspiration I had left to do anything more connected with this whole thing. Pyrotechnics can cause quite a lot of trouble in a sewer so best get out before it blows! That sums up how I feel pretty good. At times I really don't know if I'm the spark, sewage or maybe both nuking my own ass!

Reunited Norwegian black metallers IMMORTAL have launched their official web site at this location.

After 13 successful years as one of the pioneers of black metal, IMMORTAL disbanded in 2003 with a legacy of seven full-length albums, including the 2002 milestone, "Sons of Northern Darkness". Following a long hiatus, the band decided to enter the live battlefield again.

Come 2007, the world will experience a ferocious new IMMORTAL lineup, featuring Abbath, Horgh, and new bass player Apollyon from AURA NOIR. Among the audiences who will witness IMMORTAL's resurrection will be those attending Germany's Wacken Open Air 2007, where the band will headline. The group has also announced two exclusive concert appearances in the U.S.: July 13 at the B.B. King Blues club & Grill in New York City and July 15 at The Avalon in Los Angeles.

"I needed a break," Abbath explained. "I think we all did! We were simply burnt out, and there was no point in continuing. We had a Norwegian tour booked, and had performed at some great festivals both in the U.S. and Europe, but it just didn't feel right any longer."

In the meantime, drummer Horgh toured with Sweden's death metal masters HYPOCRISY and released the "Virus" album, while Abbath has been working on his sideproject, I, featuring members of ENSLAVED and SAHG, along with IMMORTAL's original drummer, Armagedda.

"I'm really proud of that album," Abbath stated enthusiastically, "and it was an important album to make in order to be able to focus on IMMORTAL again."

Moonlight confirmed the title & the cover of their new album. "Integrated In The System Of Guilt" is scheduled for release on 6th November in both Polish & English language versions.

The material was recorded in August, again in Fonoplastykon studio with Marcin Bors as the sound engineer. This new album is marked by a small line-up change. After 9 years of cooperation, Maciek (drums) decided to part with Moonlight due to lack of time for the full time commitment. Luckily, the band soon found a replacement and the new session was done with a new drummer: Krzysztof “Biały” Mędrala (known from his work with Body Mind Relation).

MEKONG DELTA guitarist Peter Sjöberg (also known as Peter Lake from THEORY IN PRACTICE) has finished recording more that half of the basic guitar parts for the band's upcoming album. Orchestration has been finished and it seems that the basic tracks should be completed by the end of this month.

MEKONG DELTA has yet to find a suitable singer to complete the legendary German progressive thrash outfit's current lineup. The band also includes mainman/bassist Ralf Hubert and drummer Uli Kusch (ex-MASTERPLAN, HELLOWEEN).

Zardoz Music last year released a two-CD, 22-song compilation, entitled "The Principle of Doubt", containing selections from various MEKONG DELTA albums.
