    Vocalist TONY HARNELL Quits TNT

Norway's Puls Music is reporting that TNT frontman Tony Harnell has officially left the band after a 22-year tenure as the group's lead vocalist. Harnell's statement on the matter read as follows:

"It is with a clear mind and a sad heart that I announce my final departure from TNT but I look forward to all the exciting new challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. It's been an amazing 22 years and we have created some great music together for thousands of faithful fans worldwide. The reasons for me leaving are both personal and professional. It is simply time to open a new chapter in my life in a fresh environment. I wish my former colleagues well in all their future endeavors in life and in music.

"To the fans I wish to express my deepest heartfelt gratitude for your many years of love and support and I hope to take some of you with me on my musical journey forward."

TNT were previously scheduled to record a live DVD at their April 1 gig at club Heineken in Madrid, Spain with director Bernhard Kellerer of the U.K. company iMagic Films Ltd.

TNT played with the Oslo Symphony Orchestra and gospel choir in December 2005 in a performance that was to be recorded and shown on Norway's NRK channel around the holidays. The band reportedly performed the LOUIS ARMSTRONG classic "What A Wonderful World", which appears on the band's latest CD release, "All The Way to the Sun". TNT were named the featured artist at last year's Christmas Special.

TNT's "All the Way to the Sun" entered the official Norwegian album chart at position No. 29 back in mid-November.

This is my most honest and artistic album. I am very glad to know that things have continued to grow along spiritual lines."

PAIN Mainman Offers Update On New Album, Covers CD

PAIN mainman Peter Tägtgren has posted the following message on the group's official web site:

"As most people know, I've been busy with the other band HYPOCRISY and gonna do the Neckbreakers Ball [European] tour in April and a few selected festivals. But at the same time I'm working on the [PAIN] covers and a new full CD, so I will not do any gigs this year with PAIN. The new songs are going more in the direction of the 'Rebirth' area. JUDAS PRIEST To Create Conceptual Album Based On Life Of NOSTRADAMUS

JUDAS PRIEST have announced that they are creating their first conceptual album based upon the life and predictions of Nostradamus. The CD will be theatrically staged and performed in its entirety as an epic musical by JUDAS PRIEST.

JUDAS PRIEST made their only live appearance of 2006 at the Royal Albert Hall in London, England on March 31. This was a special performance in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust charity and was a tribute to Tommy Vance (U.K.'s "Friday Rock Show") who passed away last year.

JUDAS PRIEST's "Rising in the East" DVD was recently certified gold in the United States by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) for shipments in excess of 50,000 copies. The DVD was released in the USA and Canada on November 15, 2005. The disc was filmed in May 2005 at the legendary Budokan in Tokyo, Japan. The definitive JUDAS PRIEST lineup — vocalist Rob Halford, lead guitarists Glenn Tipton and K.K. Downing, bass guitarist Ian Hill and drummer Scott Travis — played two sold-out nights at the venue to promote the early-2005 release of the critically acclaimed studio album "Angel of Retribution", their first new material in 15 years. "Rising in the East" is JUDAS PRIEST's first straight-to-DVD release.

RUSH: Vintage Concert Videos To Receive DVD Debut

Billboard.com is reporting that three vintage RUSH home videos will make their DVD debut as part of the boxed set "Rush Replay X 3", due June 13 via Mercury/UME. The collection will include 1982's "Exit ... Stage Left", 1985's "Grace Under Pressure" and 1991's "A Show of Hands", plus a previously unreleased audio CD version of "Grace Under Pressure". RUSH guitarist Alex Lifeson created new stereo mixes for the releases, which are presented in 5.1 Surround Sound. Tour booklets from the three concerts have also been reprinted for the set.

Filmed in 1981 in Montreal, "Exit ... Stage Left" spotlights RUSH in its early career heyday as it performs such tracks as "Red Barchetta", "YYZ", "Tom Sawyer", "Limelight" and "Closer to the Heart".

"Grace Under Pressure" was taped in RUSH's Toronto homebase and blends hits like "New World Man" and "The Spirit of Radio" with more uncommon fare like "Witch Hunt", "The Enemy Within" and "The Weapon". The latter track is accompanied by a video featuring actor Joe Flaherty as his "SCTV" character Count Floyd.

"A Show of Hands" was taped in 1988 in Birmingham, England, and was issued in tandem with a live album of the same name. Peart's nightly drum solo appears here for the first time on an official release. Other highlights include "Turn the Page", "Marathon" and a closing medley of "2112"/"La Villa Strangiato"/"In the Mood".

If all goes well, WHITESNAKE may even perform one of the songs on their upcoming tour, which is scheduled to kick off in early May in Japan. European dates will follow through early July. At the moment, no U.S. shows have been scheduled.

According to Coverdale, three of the new songs are "balls-to-ze-walls rockers" while one is a "mid-tempo power ballad." Coverdale is also tentatively planning on releasing a video compilation featuring all the WHITESNAKE clips, the COVERDALE/PAGE videos and as-yet-undisclosed "not-so-well-known" footage.

GAMMA RAY Frontman Comments On Upcoming DVD Shoot

GAMMA RAY Frontman Comments On Upcoming DVD Shoot

German power metallers GAMMA RAY will be filming their May 6 show at Medley in Montreal, Quebec for an upcoming double DVD, to be released in September. In addition to the concert, which will be filmed with several cameras, the DVD will contain lots of bonus features, like a road movie, a documentary covering the group's history, behind-the-scenes footage, video clips etc. "Canada is a good place to film a show," says the band's frontman, Kai Hansen. "But we are also bringing a cameraman along for the entire tour to capture all of the back stage and pre-show aspects of the band. We are bringing it back to rock 'n' roll basics.

This will be the first-ever GAMMA RAY video-documentary featuring the current lineup of the band. "The current lineup has been together for 8 years," Hansen states. "It's about time we get a filmed documentary of who the band is."

Having just released their latest effort, "Majestic", on October 11, 2005, GAMMA RAY is preparing to tour North America. The lineup for "Majestic" includes Hansen (guitar, bass), Dirk Schlächter (bass), Henjo Richter (guitar, keyboards) and Daniel Zimmerman (drums), who have been together for the last several releases after a number of lineup changes in the early stages of the band?s career. "Majestic" is the band's first release since 2003's "Skeletons in the Closet".

GAMMA RAY will be playing their first ever U.S. tour this spring. "We're excited because we have only played one U.S. show before," says Hansen. "Finally, after 16 years of GAMMA RAY, we are happy to be able to come to America and we're looking forward to kicking some ass!"

MEKONG DELTA: Work On New Album \'Progressing Nicely\'

According to a posting on The Official Mekong Delta Thrash Pages, work on new material from the legendary German progressive thrash outfit MEKONG DELTA "is progressing nicely. Five of the eight group songs are completely finished musically. The other three are a little more difficult to complete because of special rhythms used. Ralf [Hubert, bass] and Peter [Sjöberg, guitar; also known as Peter Lake from THEORY IN PRACTICE] concluded they would first finish the eight group songs (and maybe even record them first) before working on the classical adaptation and the two orchestral ones. They have not been together yet because of the great progess on the drums. The three members will probably meet each other in Norway (where Uli [Kusch, drums; MASTERPLAN, ex-HELLOWEEN] lives nowadays) for rehearsals soon."

MEKONG DELTA have yet to find a suitable singer to complete the group's current lineup.

    BRUCE DICKINSON\

BRUCE DICKINSON\'s \'Anthology\' DVD: Complete Details Revealed

Sanctuary Visual Entertainment has set a June 20 U.S. release date for the three-disc DVD release of IRON MAIDEN singer Bruce Dickinson's "Anthology" (view artwork here). This is the definitive Dickinson package, and includes over six hours of videos and live performances, and previously unreleased and archive material.

Bruce says: "It's fantastic to share all of this collection with my fans. These DVDs contain rare material that people either won't know exists or have been unable to buy. The SAMSON video has changed hands for absurd amounts of money, and although we spent loads of time and had and lots and lots of fun making the promos, and because MTV didn't show them many of won't have been seen. It was high time they were all available together in one package."

DVD Disc 1 is a live performance extravaganza boasting 30 show-stopping tracks, recorded during the '90s as Bruce forged ahead with his solo career. "Dive Dive Live" was recorded at the Town and Country Club, Los Angeles on the "Tattooed Millionaire" tour on August 14, 1990. This was Bruce's first outing as a solo artist with a new band made up of Janick Gers (guitar), Andy Carr (bass) and Dickie Fliszar (drums).

    "Dive Dive Live" track listing:

    01. Riding With The Angels
    02. Born In '58
    03. Lickin' The Gun
    04. Gypsy Road
    05. Dive Dive Dive
    06. Drum Solo
    07. Zulu Zulu
    08. The Ballad Of Mutt
    09. Son Of A Gun
    10. Hell On Wheels
    11. All The Young Dudes
    12. Tattooed Millionaire
    13. No Lies
    14. Fog On The Tyne
    15. Winds Of Change
    16. Sin City
    17. Bring Your Daughter To The Slaughter
    18. Black Night

The second live-in-concert performance offered up on Disc 1 was filmed over two sweaty back-to-back dates during the "Skunkworks" tour in Pamplona and Gerona, Spain on May 31 and June 1, 1996. Bruce was fronting a new young band, with a new name, and was joined on stage by Alex Dickson (guitar), Chris Dale (bass) and a certain infamous Italian drummer, Alessandro Elena. Originally created for a four-track video EP release in Japan, this is the hour-long "Skunkworks" concert in full, for the very first time.

    "Skunkworks Live" track listing:

    01. Space Race
    02. Back From The Edge
    03. Tattooed Millionaire
    04. Inertia
    05. Faith
    06. Meltdown
    07. I Will Not Accept The Truth
    08. Laughing In The Hiding Bush
    09. Tears Of The Dragon
    10. God's Not Coming Back
    11. Dreamstate
    12. The Prisoner

DVD Disc 2 keeps the live-in-concert experience alive with rare footage of Bruce performing in Sao Paulo, 1999 during the "Chemical Wedding" world tour. Almost two hours in length, "Scream For Me Brazil" represents Bruce's last outing as a true solo artist before rejoining the ranks of MAIDEN shortly afterwards. No official film recording was permitted although this film taken from the crowd screen feeds features highlights of the show which later become a live album of the same name. With a new heavier lineup made up of long time songwriting partner Roy Z (guitar), old MAIDEN partner Adrian Smith and rhythm section of Dave Ingraham (drums) and Eddie Casillas (bass), this "bootleg" documents Bruce at his most intense.

"Scream For Me Brazil" track listing:

    01. King In Crimson
    02. Gates Of Urizen
    03. Killing Floor
    04. Book Of Thel
    05. Tears Of The Dragon
    06. Laughing In The Hiding Bush
    07. Accident Of Birth
    08. The Tower
    09. Darkside Of Aquarius
    10. The Road To Hell

DVD Disc 3 is an extensive collection of promotional videos made during Bruce's solo career. From his days at EMI through to his own self-produced videos of recent times, each video is accompanied by a short introduction by Bruce himself, discussing the ideas, concepts and eventual filming behind each of the videos. Each intro provides an interesting insight into Bruce's solo career as it progressed and the highlights and pitfalls of producing your own promotional videos.

Alongside the 14 promotional videos, Disc 3 also includes over an hour's worth of extras. The "Tyranny Of Souls" interview was originally filmed as a general interview for press purposes. This is a track-by-track breakdown of the concept behind the songs on the "Tyranny Of Souls" album, providing more of an in-depth look at the writing methods that Bruce has formed with longtime writing partner Roy Z.

SAMSON – "Biceps Of Steel": Bruce made his video debut fronting SAMSON in this rather curious adaptation of the story of Samson and Delilah, filmed at the Rainbow Theatre, London. Filmed and directed by Julien Temple who perhaps was more famous for the SEX PISTOLS movie "The Great Rock 'n' Roll Swindle", this 15-minute featurette was distributed through-out cinemas as a support feature to Hazel O' Connor's "Breaking Glass" in 1980.

    Promotional videos:

    01. Tattooed Millionaire
    02. All The Young Dudes
    03. Dive Dive Dive

    CENTINEX Call It Quits

    CENTINEX Call It Quits

Swedish metallers CENTINEX have officially called it quits. The group's statement on the matter reads as follows:

"We hereby announce that after 16 years in the business the Swedish death metal act CENTINEX call it quits. This might come as a surprise to many of you, especially after releasing such a strong and critically acclaimed album as 'World Declension'. However, things came to such a point where the only solution was to call it a day. Without going too deep into all the details I can tell you that there are many reasons (personal, musical etc) for this decision and believe me, everything is well thought out. Hereby we stop all band activities and our farewell show will be the already booked appearance in Eskilstuna, Sweden, on May 13th.

"We wanna thank and salute each and everyone out there who have supported us in some way during all these years. Of course, all the members will go on with metal, jointly and individually, in various bands and projects. So you will sure hear from us in the near future."

CENTINEX's last album, "World Declension", was released in North America in September via Candlelight Records USA. The album received a European release in June 2005 through Cold/Regain Records.
